My brain is thinking of stuff for odypen fics I may do and my brain came up with this:

Sometimes Paris will instruct servants to leave clothing and jewelry (yes jewelry) that basically shows Odysseus is his. At first, Odysseus rejects it, he doesn't belong to anyone, especially not Paris, if anything he would rather show how he is Penelope's spouse instead

Some guards then take Telemachus and proceed to say that they have orders if he doesn't oblige to throw Telemachus off of Troys walls. Odysseus cannot tell if they are bluffing or not, but maybe one of the guards loosens their grip on the blanket Telemachus is wrapped in and Odysseus agrees to wearing the damn outfit

He continues to wear what Paris sends to his room, as the sound of Telemachus cries as he was dangled high in the air fills Odysseus's ears each morning

Y'all are messed up you know that? I say as I note this down.

Then again, it's not a Greek tragedy if there isn't a healthy dose of poetic irony to it all.

But yeah, adding onto this, the first few weeks they were there, Ody was insistent on wearing the same himation he arrived in specifically because it was made by Penelope. At first, Paris indulged him but after a while, he'd start to test boundaries.

Paris & Odysseus are in a constant tug-of-war of compromises. After this threat, Ody would camp out in the same room as Telemachus & even created a tripwire sort of alarm so he'd know every time someone else entered the room.

This led to Paris asking the servants to drug Ody's meals/drinks so he'd sleep deeper. Which then led to Ody going on hunger strikes. Which once again culminated in Paris swearing not to pull this stunt on Telemachus again. Which then-
