I saw that Q&A post you made, where you linked proof of that one person stealing your comic. That sucks, I’m sorry!! 😣

What is your opinion/boundary when it comes to using your art as inspiration or reference, or even tracing? Obvi that particular person straight up copied whole drawings of yours many times, and that’s an extreme case where it’s easy to see that they’re far out of bounds. But what would you consider to be acceptable use/tracing of references, using your work as reference? Thx in advance!!

i separate my fan art from my original art in my head, since fan art so often breaches containment and a lot of people treat it like a community thing, i’ve adjusted my boundaries around it for my own ease.

in short: you can do whatever you want with my good omens fan art. obviously prefer if credit is given where possible, always given if asked, and always displayed clearly if you’re tracing it for whatever reason.

i’m a little more protective of my original art, so i hope this makes sense:

you can trace my original art if you’re giving it to me as fan art of my work. people have done “redraws” before and i love them.

i’m ofc okay with the kind of inspiration that comes up naturally, like, “oh i love how that elf has big floppy bunny ears, i wanna give my elf ears like that!” and same goes for anything that my art might inspire, that you then tweak for yourself

i generally wouldn’t recommend copying my poses 1:1 anyway, since my anatomy can be pretty borked at times, and when it’s stronger i’ve likely used a photo reference. you’re welcome to ask for the references i’ve used for any given piece 💛

slightly less related but you CAN use my original art for icons and banners, but credit is mandatory. i would also prefer if it’s only characters that appear in my stories (rechargeable, paranomads etc), bc i think i’d feel weird if someone used a free floating OC (mister b, my vampire lesbians etc) as a pfp

you can also do whatever the hell you want, no boundaries, if you’re keeping it to yourself. i’ll never know and can’t stop you. so if tracing all my work helps you further your art (i’d hope it’s not the only thing you’re doing, or it’d be to your artistic detriment), i’m fine with that if you’re keeping it metaphorically tucked under your mattress, for your eyes only ☺️

what do you think of acxa and veronica?? both as separate characters and as a ship

i love them dearly!! i do think acxa was insanely interesting as a character when she was introduced even though it came at the cost of hunk’s strange comments LMFAO and the whole odd attempt to imply she was into keith or whatever 😞 her design could use some tweaking imo but all around pretty decent

i also think veronica is pretty neat!! i wish we got to see her more as i love her design and i remember really loving her voice i think !! also she gave us the iconic dinner date scene where she admits she’s interested in keith which derails lance entirely, i wish they also explored that more, not because i ship them (the opposite in fact) but i just would’ve loved to see how it’d pan out with lance being pissed off and keith being.. keith, the fruity autistic man he is, they could’ve ended off as solid friends imo </3

as for the ship itself!! i like them i think? i haven’t given it too much thought due to them not having much screen time unfortunately 😞 i remember thinking the few interactions they did have as super cute and sweet

Whisper Me A Love Song Episode 12 Review + Final Thoughts - To Reach You

Well, at least Shiho and Aki finally got a happy ending, so I’m glad it’s all over. Regardless, the anime did definitely become the Shiho show and it definitely showed towards the end with how they got majority of the screen time from the beginning of this episode to the last.

To be honest, while I am convinced that Aki did move on from Yori, I’m still not buying her moving onto Shiho that fast. Regardless, I still do think she can fall in love with her slowly and surely. It just sucks that the anime had to end before Aki could truly fall for her. Still, I’m glad Shiho finally got her happy ending and that’s all that matters. Though, I was feeling a little second hand embarrassment when Aki was basically confessing to Shiho in public in front of a crowd—maybe it’s because I’m a shy person. Despite that, the fact that no one was applauding them also feels a little awkward.

The part with Kyou’s ghost was also really nice. I feel like Shiho has been lurking too much on Kyou that it messes her up. It’s like she was in love with Kyou but never realized her feelings—a love that never got the chance to fully blossom. I mean, I could easily be convinced that Kyou and Shiho were exes and not Kyou and Momoka. It was nice to see Shiho finally being able to be honest with herself as she’s always been dishonest. Their hugging was super cute nonetheless.

For the band segment, I’m a little divisive. Sasakoi’s anime’s major problem is the fact that despite it being band themed, the music feels very unimportant despite it being a key factor in the story. Imagine shows like Paradox Live or any idol anime having the entirety of their songs drowned out by thoughts and you can’t hear a darn thing. Imagine Given’s iconic Fuyu No Hanashi scene being an entire scene of Mafuyu monologuing in his mind and you barely hear the song. What would you think? Would you like that? I’m sure you wouldn’t. Despite my gripes, the second song was good in that the song is heard and then the monologuing comes after a good portion.

Other than that, there weren’t a lot of YoriHima moments as most of the Himari moments involved her trying to get Shiho to the audience which she succeeded. Himari’s little story arc with helping Shiho with her issues has finally be resolved. The only cute YoriHima moment was at the end where they finally share their first kiss. The bonfire moment towards the end also has Hajimomo and TachiMari moments. TachiMari is very noticeable as they’ve been the beta couple since the beginning, but when was Hajimomo a thing? You’re telling me they glossed over it and I didn’t get to witness it? They could easily be a 10/10 couple for me if there was screen time for them.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Whisper Me A Love Song was just an unfortunate anime. It was nice that yuri fans finally get a cute, wholesome anime, but to have a train wreck of a production is basically a disrespect to the fans and to the author most of all. 

This anime had to be delayed from its original Winter 2024 spot to Spring 2024 due to production issues and the quality the first few episodes gave wasn’t great, but not that bad. However, the issues do start taking notice towards the middle of the show, particularly in episodes where the bands are playing. With the hiatus, it took six months for the final two episodes to air. In the middle of the hiatus, Cloud Hearts closed its domain, meaning the studio closed. I also heard that they’re not selling the Blu-Rays. Like, this anime is just full of misfortune that I just can’t help but to pity it.

The plot and characters are fine. They’re cute and have great designs. I know I am going to get flamed heavily by himejoshis if I say this (but I don’t care about negativity), but the story is basically Given but with lesbians, some tweaks and a happier tone. Like, I can go on and on with the comparisons, but I don’t want to flag the author for plagiarism as it could just be coincidental.

I still like it regardless. It’s sweet to see Yori finding motivation to do music seriously when she falls for Himari and I also enjoyed the drama that Shiho brings to the table. My only issue is that the Yori and Himari story essentially stops and Shiho suddenly becomes the new MC of the story. I heard that YoriHima does have more moments in the manga which means that the anime did them DIRTY. My only issue is that Aki’s ending with Shiho doesn’t feel deserved on her part due to the obliviousness but if Shiho’s happy then I’m happy.

Speaking of Shiho, I really like her! I think that there’s this weird stigma that yuri couples have to be extremely pure and wholesome but Shiho contradicts all that. There’s nothing pure and wholesome about her. She’s super complicated and I really like that. She’s flawed and I find that great. Though, there’s also something really sweet about YoriHima that you can’t peel your eyes away from them. Though, regarding the other characters, I just wished there was more to them than just being a band member or being Himari's friend. I just feel like Tachibana, Mari and Miki are just there to fill in space, you know? Same with Hajime. At least Momoka was fun, but she sort of stopped getting focus after a few episodes…

Being an anime with production issues definitely showed as a lot of the scenes in this anime are slideshows and some animation are not that great, especially the part in Episode 6 where Mari keeps disappearing while they were performing. While the final two episodes are a step up from previous episodes, it’s still bad, especially with the lack of a moving crowd.

The music was great. It was nice seeing them use actual singers for the singing portions, but they really deserve better with how the songs are basically unlistenable as the staff thought it’d be a darn good idea to drown out entireties of songs with monologues. Like I don’t remember a single thing about Sunny Spot nor do I remember anything from the three songs played in the finale other than the second one. If you’re supposed to be a band-themed anime, FOCUS ON THE MUSIC! The songs are the key aspects of a music themed show and taking it away is essentially taking the pepperoni out of a pepperoni pizza and you expect people to eat it like that. The only song I remember is Meritocracy and that portion of the anime did a great job balancing singing and monologuing, so what happened at the end?

The voice acting cast was stellar, though! A lot of big names were in the cast and the only true ‘newbies’ are Hana Shimano voicing Himari and Shiho’s voice actress Yuna Nemoto. They definitely need more roles after this. I’d love to see them in another yuri anime or in another anime in general—Shimano is in Wonderful Precure as Kanie, by the way.

Despite all I have to say about this anime, it’s not bad. I did rank it as my Worst Animes of 2024 but that’s due to production issues and the hiatus. The overall quality of this anime may not be great, but as a whole it’s still watchable. I’m not going to detract you from watching this anime at all. I feel like you have to watch things in order to form your own opinions and feelings on things—that’s the beauty of free will. If you’re on a mission to watch all the yuri anime possible, I hope this is one of the ones you watch! It definitely does make me want to watch more! What are your thoughts on the finale and the anime as a whole?

Mostly just a list of stuff that I personally have been having fun with!

5. Pathfinder: Look if you wanna replace dnd, this is probably the easiest way to do it. It is slightly more complex, but pf2e is WAY more beginner friendly than most people expect it to be. The main source of complication is also the system's greatest strength, in that the more in depth character customization lets you fill out your character's abilities in a more compelling way. Have you ever been frustrated because none of d&d's classes fit your character idea that well? Have you ever gotten a major class feature and not used it much because it doesn't fit your idea for your character? Pathfinder may be the system for you!

It does have a few minor issues in the form of design relics from the old edition d&d it was based on, but aside from the spell prep system most of those can be table ruled out or avoided with minor build tweaks.

4. Monster of the Week: This system is great for anyone who feels more intimidated by rules-dense systems. Being a Powered By The Apocalypse game means that if you learn one of these, you learn a bunch of other systems. Monster of the week is also very inexpensive to get into (Basically everything is free aside from the GM rulebook) and has good community support!

The genre is primarily modern Urban Fantasy with a focus on solving mysteries, but the publisher's most recent book, Codex of Worlds, expands the options so you can take those same supernatural horror mysteries into settings based on The Victorian Era, The Renaissance, The Dark Ages and even The Stone Age!

3. Thirsty Sword Lesbians: Look, this is an incredibly flexible system that has a shitload of uses so its hard to describe quickly but at its core this is another PBTA game that has more of a focus on mind games and emotional drama than the actual swordfighting mechanics. Swordfighting is just a backdrop for drama, and magic largely exists as a metaphor for the characters' personality traits, this makes the system incredibly easy to reflavor or tweak. I've seen a game run with a completely mundane fencing club, a homebrew setting based on a theater department and an official module based on a chess tournament. Anywhere people are competing and communicating can be the backdrop for this game. I should also note that despite the name and most of the art, the game is designed to work well with LGBT storytelling in general.

The core mechanics are essentially a rules-lite drama simulator, with the only truly consistent elements being romance and melodrama. The flavor is flexible and the rules have a ton of caveats that say "If you don't think this fits your character, ignore it!" Its primarily a game for people who like to really get into character to make choices and who are willing to shoot themselves in the foot for the sake of being true to that character.

2. Lancer: If rules-lite systems aren't as much your thing and you wanna take a very different approach to your new campaign setting, Lancer may be the game for you! This is a crunchy mecha combat game with a really in depth customization system that lets you make some wild shit. There are a ton of different customization options on top of an iconic series of mech frames that each have unique and iconic abilities!

It's also not as intimidating to get into as most crunchy systems, as its actually pretty hard to make a "bad" build in the game, the devs have been super cool about providing good digital resources like the Comp/Con app and the community is known for being pretty helpful!

Court of Blades: So this one is a bit more of a niche, but it's basically a system reskin of the critically acclaimed Blades in The Dark with some interesting new twists. Players take on the role of a group of nobles and courtiers in a low-magic fantasy setting inspired by Renaissance Italy's feuding noble houses as they attempt to bring their house to the top.

The real appeal of this system to me is how effectively it lets players play a group of scheming rich bastards, with mechanics around currying favor and having people to do things for you. If you've ever tried to run a noble in a different system only to be frustrated at how little the game lets you use your character's wealth and influence, you might like this game! It's a narrative driven game with a very different approach to structuring plots and missions compared to most ttrpgs that creates a much more engaging narrative flow. The player character playbooks can feel a bit linear and restrictive, but if more people play this one that means more homebrew options!

G Flip says they’re “trying not to cry” right now after Taylor Swift liked their “masc lesbian” cover of Cruel Summer.

The Aussie artist, who’s non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, recently dropped by radio station triple j to perform the cover for the Like A Version segment.

Taylor Swift’s Cruel Summer, one of the all-time great pop songs, is off the singer-songwriter’s 2019 album Lover.

For their new cover, G Flip put their own spin on the song, including tweaking the song’s lyrics to be about a woman.

The drummer told triple j at the time, “Hopefully I didn’t butcher it for the gaylors.

“Hopefully they’re like, ‘Oh, actually that was pretty good,’ you know? I feel like it’s more of a masc lesbian version of Cruel Summer.”

I’ve heard people say they hate the camp shirts because they’re orange and orange is an “ugly color” (offended). So, I thought it would be funny if Drew took that as some kind of challenge to wear as much orange as she can to prove she

1.) can look good in everything and

2.) be a better fashion icon for making the colors work where others can not.

But I also like the white shorts I gave her cuz they’re cute, they also lowkey look like the lesbian flag haha.

Selina was fun, I gave her candy clips because her dad works at a chocolate shop (???) so I wanted her to have a kind of “sweet feel” and of course her bracelets and necklace for Clarisse and Becky.

I also gave her hair bands on her wrist so she can give them to other campers when they need some, and silly bands so she can be extra 2008 hot.

Overall I’m pretty happy with the designs, I might tweak them later down the line but I’m content with them for the now. ʕ•̫͡•ʔ

Omg when you mentioned about new people asking I was like YES I WANT TO SEE THAT!! Like okay they have all just got used to it. I even want Robin and Erica to also point out how casual and shit they’re all being. I want people to honestly question their mental health and stuff (because y’all know they are messed by with trauma). Robin and Erica have only been through it once and I really want them to question everything. I know we talked about Erica with Lucas and the party but I also kinda want Robin to notice it and have to come to terms with it. Like how Robin mentioned that Steve was a douche and like have to come with the terms that this is his life and has been for almost two years now. I think she starts seeing a side of him in the Russian base and everything else but like I also want to see her struggling with that. Struggling with also understanding how all of these kids had to go through it. Anyway I don’t want all the text together so I’ll get back to my original point here. So we know that Robin was isolated but I also feel like she is such a people pleaser (like Steve). Like they have that whole talk TWICE about being popular and wanting to fit in. I think it’s a huge thing with Steve mainly (then you have like Nancy and Jonathan in season 1 and 2 but it was mainly Steve’s arc with popularity so) but also such a huge thing for Robin too. Their whole friendship (even before Russians and upside down) is about them feeling like they can trust each other and fit with each other. None of them put on a persona for each other (except at the very beginning but also I completely understand why they didn’t tell each other then) but otherwise they were themselves to each other. There was no hiding with them and I feel like after everything they would actually tell each other everything. Like Robin would want an explanation about everything and I feel like Steve would just come fucking completely clean. Idk though if he would tell her about his guilt with everything but like other then maybe tweaking a couple things he would be completely honest.(I think if Erica would ask Lucas though he definitely will not tell her everything like with billy and probably about in the middle school in season 1 like he wouldn’t tell her that shit at all. And also seeing wills body would def be off limits). So basically I just want everyone to realize how messed up their circumstances is and how they never actually fit in in their hometown. And how everyone just doesn’t see them for who they truly are and how that actually has even more of a mental drain on them. Like they legit can’t even go to therapy (they could probably be put in like an institution or something and the government still has a hold on them sooo). The only support system they have is each other and even then it’s not enough. We see onscreen how taxing it is for everyone to be each other’s support systems and how that affected each other’s relationships (which often ends in fights). Lol this is long as fuck

yes yes yes to all of this! I hope we do see more of the toll all of this shit has taken on them because I think that’s such an important and real aspect of the show. like seeing them be vulnerable with each other because they are the only people in the entire world who understand what they they’ve all been through. and I feel like with Robin and even Erica there’s more a chance of them bringing that to light.

also I’ve probably talked about many times on my blog but I could talk about that coming out scene for days!! like I remember watching it for the first time so vividly when the season first dropped. I was determined to watch it all in one day on the 4th and seeing that at like 5am was wild. like not to get too personal, but that was around the time where I was struggling so much with my own sexuality. I’m pretty sure I cried lol. it was just so well done and seeing that play out in someone you can see yourself as was just so amazing. and you can see on screen how important that scene was so important to Maya and Joe that they get it right. ugh I just loved it all!

but yeah I think that steve and robin’s friend is so important because they are like the only two people in each other’s lives that I feel like they can really be themselves around. steve knows robin’s secret of her sexuality and trusted him with that. and even if it wasn’t like intentional, robins knows steve’s secret of his involvement with the upside down. I hope we see their relationship how much it means to both of them. because I feel like it’s pretty uncommon to see a vulnerable and emotional friendship between the opposite sex. but I think they’ll both see each other in a different light next season and I just want them to be besties lol

Hey you ever like, blank out and when you’re back you realize I’ve done art. Well I mean in my defense the Internet went out but-

I did that, and they’re headcanons!

Before you continue, keep in mind these are PERSONAL headcanons, maybe you think different and that’s perfectly okay! Please! Share them, I’m happy to hear, these are just mine!

Now lemme explain:

Barnacles - aromantic - I don’t think the captain is very romantically interested in anyone! I think he’s a bit more of a work centric person. He’s always been told “You’ll find the right bear!” And sure he thought about it, but never felt a connection, he doesn’t mind so much!

Inkling - nonbinary- I ALMOST just put inkling as an ally, and then I remembered about how cephalopods tend to act the other gender, sometimes randomly, like just for fun, and sometimes, for their benefit. So I put nonbinary, but I think he’d lean towards male, I hope it works out but please let me know if not someone please lemme know.

Dashi - Lesbian - or at least, bi leaning female! After the cave diving special I had too. I also think she’s demiromantic!

Kwazii- Transgender - NOW IM REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS ONE, there was one point where Kwazii was referred to as she in the books, a misprint I suppose, however, I’ve been thinking about it! Now, most yellow cats- like Kwazii- are male. However, they can be born female! Not only that but, I can just imagine Kwazii wanting to be like his grandpa, calico Jack (which, fun fact, almost ALL calicos are female!) And slowly, maybe right before or after starting at the octonauts, transitioning.

Tweak - Bisexual - I need no explanation this is just tweaks energy.

Shellington - Demisexual - This might be a bit of self projection but at the same time Shellington.. man. I really do see him as demi, I think not only does it take a while for him to be comfortable around people (comfortable enough to open up about his interests!) he’s kinda self conscious about it but the crew helps him accept it, especially Peso.

Peso - Gay - This one is my favorite because well- There’s a million documented cases of same sex penguin couples, infact I think Peso’s family are incredibly proud of him, because same sex penguin couples are very very helpful! If an egg or chick is abandoned, they take it on, and if they don’t have one, they help others care for their little one. So they’re very proud of him!
