Who in the twdg series have some of your favorite character designs? (Aside from Vi and Clem lol) Can be side characters + major!

i actually LOVE the character designs of S4 in general the whole cast is so visually strong. gonna use my old line up so you can see what im talking about without a layer of dirt and grime covering everyone (just imagine lillys here shdfjsk)

each character is immediately distinct in a crowd (which is important when theres a lot of crowd shots and you need to recognize everyone quickly (they also do a really good job with shot composition they can fit so many characters in one frame comfortably 😭))

but also the use of color? look at how certain characters are sharing colors and patterns and straight up whole palettes. so while the characters still remain distinct from one another, you can See connections between them just through their designs. tenn and minerva i think are the most obvious example of that here. but something else i like is how aj changes from his blank white sweater to his red purple and green (if you choose the disco broccoli shirt but like.. i feel like thats the most popular choice anyway) top. clem vi and louis' colors become part of his palette as hes growing and learning. thats so cool!! plus shout out to clems S4 fit intentionally made to mirror lees fit. the narrative is dooming

ive always enjoyed the character designs in twdg theyve always been strong (its what taught me the importance of layering clothes, which was apparently a Rule for the designers). i just feel like S4 was really successful with it

Why Lee losing an arm and Clem losing a leg is significant symbolism

Or: im way too obsessed with this game so here's a thing

So, throughout the final season, we hear several times about how similar Clem grew up to be to Lee. Alongside this, we also get multiple parallels between these two (car crash, taking care of a kid, having to who choose to save, etc.) And that can all be overlooked, I mean they put random stuff like that in all the games (the hatchet clem uses in S2, Clem getting a haircut at the end of S3) but there's something different about these ones, and that's all of them aren't EXACT references to S1 like the other ones. Clems story doesn't go the same way Lee's does. Sure, they're similar, but also opposite. Clem lives, AJ is with Clem when she gets bit, Lee wasn't escaping form bad people, stuff like that makes them so different. And I thinks that's why it's so significant. Arms and legs are so similar, but complete opposites. You use arms to hold things. To build a place to stay. You use legs to walk. to RUN. Both things Clem and Lee did or tried to do respectively. While all these things are different, there's use that arms and legs have in common, but are so different in themselves. Attacking. Climbling. Anything you can think of. Both do these things, but they do them so differently, just like Clem and Lee. They both lose something similar, but not the same. Because they could NEVER be the same

Oh, I know what happened to Christa.

The aliens got to her first, but unlike Luke, they didn't make a clone of her. She wasn't a good candidate, she didn't have a big group to infiltrate and the aliens didn't make the Clementine connection until they already had Luke.

It's really a shame. I hope she and Luke were able to eventually escape back to earth.

-Found Kenny and helped him out

-Took Kenny back knowing his condition

-Kenny enters in Wellington and resides there, pissed off

-Didn’t accept Clementine and AJ's help because he's too embarrassed for them to see him in this shape.

-Will forever shelter himself from the community until forced to do Work.

Maybe opens up to community, but will belittle community leaders

-Grows to like it there, still missing his family, clem and AJ (sheltering himself from them, even if they are not too far from him in the base).

-War still happens

-With war, it seems there is no mercy.

-Two Options -Surrenders and let the people shoot him or fight for the community

-If surrenders, he is shot down and his memories start flowing about Duck, Katjaa, Serita, Clem, and AJ. His last words might be “Take good care of him for me Clem”, then smiles as he’s going to see his family.

-If Kenny fights, he will grab a hidden gun and start shooting. -He will get a couple of soldiers -He sees an opening to wheel away before noticing more soldiers. -At some point, he trips in his wheelchair before reaching the entry Way -He is now being shot towards

-Two more options can happen here, -Either take yourself out -Or try to pick yourself back up

-If Kenny chooses to take himself out -Memories of everyone comes flooding in and he cries a tear still Saying “Take good care of him for me Clem,” before ending it there. -If Kenny tries to get back up onto the wheelchair -He gets shot in arm, and he starts wheeling with one arm.

-He makes it near the entrance, but his wheelchair wheel breaks. -Final moment, realizing it’s over. -He looks up, seeing the soldier come up to him, smiles, tears up, and says

“I’m coming home” -Closes his eyes, and the music fades after a gunshot was heard.

Despite the trio’s shared goal of stopping the Bloodline, the alliance is frail. Honestly, I believe this was from a version of the story where Javi & Clem were both trying to get there families back from The NF, or at least in a similar vein.

I mean, The NF hunted Javi down from the junkyard over something they arguably started so it's not much of a stretch to assume whatever version this was from, Clem did something similar if not worse.

I'll assume she did something similar to stealing for AJ, and she essentially turned into a D1 crashout after the fact, so she'd been taking out or fucking over the NF & their foot soldiers for a minute to put her on their shitlist.

My guess is that the Junkyard fight was meant to go on longer, or meeting Javi was written differently.

Maybe Rufus was always slated to get away and give the NF a heads up that she was with Javi. That's why they'd been gunning after her for so long, she was on some sort of warpath after losing AJ.

Re: Conrad in the og script apparently the new frontier went to Prescott demanding clementine and you had the option to give her up, and that was why Conrad was like let's trade her. clearly at some point they realized it was crazy for a community to pull up on another community in pursuit of a tween so they changed it to javi instead, so shouldn't he have targeted javi? Lol

Ah, really? That would've made a lot more sense for Conrad's motivations if they'd been looking for Clementine specifically, though at the same time I recognize how it could come across as a little silly for this militant group to be gunning so hard for a 13/14 year old girl. Perhaps if they'd done more to establish how Clementine had been causing trouble for the New Frontier, but even then it'd be a bit ridiculous.

It would've made a lot more sense to go after Javi, but then of course there wouldn't be the big choice to betray Clem or kill Conrad. I honestly can't even think of a better way to do things right now without drastically rewriting a lot of the story. Very tricky.

more twdg season 2 headcanons and baseless accusations (mostly luke)

- The first bit of the apocalypse Nick, Pete and Nick’s mom stayed with Luke and his family until it got overrun by walkers (twd season 2 esque) and then they hit the road and met Carver, so between being isolated on the farm and Carver’s camp they never *really* knew how bad things had gotten until they left (hence why eleven year old Clem who’s been out in the open with Christa so long is more fucking competent than half of them)

- Luke’s machete is actually a family heirloom/was gifted to him, might have his initials or a family name or something engraved on the handle

- Luke moved back home to his small town after college but def did an internship or at least tried to break into something related to his degree- I like to think he might have gone into Art Restoration or Curation

- Nick never had any siblings or cousins really, Pete might have been married once but kids never came of it, he might have gotten divorced when Nick was young and having to step up and be Nick’s father figure didn’t leave him a lot of time for his own family.

- On that note: Nick was always super close to Luke’s parents (and siblings?), having a mom who was probably a working mother he would spend a lot of dinners and sleepovers at Luke’s.

- If Luke does have siblings I can only picture him having sisters- maybe Nick just takes up that brother spot in my mind. If I had to be delulu about it Luke’s probably the middle child, high sense of independence, strong social skills, sharing behaviours etc. But I also think being the only boy in his family and growing up in what was probably a small southern town cultivated his whole leadership skills, even if he doesn’t like confrontation

- Sarah had a horse girl phase- or maybe was one when we meet her in the apocalypse. She also definitely did Kumon.

- Sarah’s mom died pre-apocalypse or in the earlier days, meaning Carlos was always very protective of her from early on and her having anxiety or PTSD as we see in the game clearly lead to him sheltering her but I think the death of her mom either pre or early apocalypse would also add to that

- I like to think that Carver pre apocalypse had a pretty shitty life where maybe he didn’t have a lot of power OR he had jobs where he had a bit of power and it kind of got to his head, like the teacher from The Breakfast Club for example. I think he saw the apocalypse as, obviously a bad thing, but also a way out of his menial life and an opportunity to have powers over others

- I don’t believe the Carver being Luke’s dad theory HOWEVER I do think that Luke’s dad was probably also a gruff n tuff older man, I don’t think he was on Carver’s level but I definitely think that Luke’s dad was a hard-ass southern man (hence “minor in agriculture to make the old man happy”) and I think that would also explain why Luke doesn’t like confrontation despite liking control and a leadership role, I don’t think his dad was abusive or anything and I think Luke probably had a good homelife but I also think that maybe there was a seed of resentment there and some ways that his dad was that was part of the reason why Luke, despite being shown to be conflict avoidant and a mediator “butted heads” with Carver so much and why they seemed to have such a weird beef going on

Hey, it's been a long time since I was last on here. How are you all?

A lot has happened in my life, both good and bad since we last met. I graduated University with a degree in 3D Animation, I got a part-time job as a design assistant and teach workshops, I met my life partner last year and he means the world to me. I also had to deal with my dad getting diagnosed with lung cancer and now I recently found out that I won't have him by the end of the month. Life is...*something* to say the least.

There's been beauty and pain, things not even stated above and it's led me to reflect on parts of my life as I sit here on this bus home from work looking through my archive.

I'm sorry I failed a lot of you. I had high ambitions on this blog and my personal life kept creeping in, and despite many promises to become what I used to be in this fandom - I didn't follow through with it and eventually my brain just refused to come back. And for that, I'm sorry.

I don't think I'll be continuing Twdg stuff here, but I want you all to know that you truly did mean a lot to me. My time spent with you all during TFS as I spent every day coming up with theories and replying to you all is one of the best moments of my life and I cherish all the memories you have given me. You all made me feel like I was capable of more than I thought I was, and I'll always be grateful to you for that. And even though I have been gone for so long, I have never forgotten all of the people I met on here and our interactions together.

I hope you all are living your best lives and know that even if your life is being ass sometimes - you will overcome it. The thing about life is that it really is unpredictable, but amidst all of the losses, there are also wins that keep you going. And I hope at the end of it, despite what your past or present may be - you all are truly happy.

I LOVE YOUR OC! A twdg fan is so hard to come by these days, at least one's that'll give you the time of day to talk to you about it. What do you like most about the telltale series?

I think my favourite thing is a bit meta, but it was the presence the game had. It wasn't a weekend of gameplay and then done, you had to wait 8-12 months for a full game to release, and in that time there was a ton of discussion and theory and becoming attached to the characters and hoping they'd make it through alive (they never did)

Naturally that amount of discussion led to stuff like fanfic and OCs, so my favourite part was probably the community. Met some friends I still have to this day through it!

Luke didn’t know much about Y/N’s past.

All he really knew was that they were alone,

Had been for years,

And their parents vanished in the middle of the night when they were 7.

Well into the dystopian world they were now a part of.

Luke had his theories on what had happened,

But his gut told him the worst one was true.

They left Y/N behind.

Luke couldn't imagine how stressful it was,

Being a parent in a world like theirs had become,

But he could never imagine leaving a child.

Let alone your child.

But Y/N always thought they got out of their tent at night, were attacked,

Then left to die alone.

Ever since, Y/N had wandered through the world alone,

Occasionally bouncing from group to group.

Normally, they found a safe place to hide out for the foreseeable future,

Then would move if they couldn't find food,

Or danger arrived.

They were a lone wolf,

And becoming adjusted to being otherwise was stressful.

The cabin group had taken them in immediately.

They gave the child some rations and insisted Y/N stay.

They protested.

Eventually, Y/N was worn down,

By warmth, food, and water.

That hadn’t been consistent in their lives in years.

It felt like forever.

They were used to being alone,

To being quiet,

To not speaking for weeks,

To not being touched.

It reminded them of how it was back then.

Whenever anyone offered physical contact, Y/N jumped.

They had no idea how others got used to this.

It felt invasive, almost.

When Luke went to place a hand on their shoulder,

Y/N jumped and swatted it away,

Eyes wide in peril.

Realizing it was just Luke, they softened,

Their skin, still bristling from the contact.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” Luke asked.

He knew they didn’t like being touched, but he’d hoped,

After all this time,

They would’ve become more open to it.

Especially with their group.

“N-Nothing,” Y/N fumbled.

Their shoulders were tense and they were on edge,

Luke could tell just by their stature,

But why?

“I know that’s a lie,” he smirked, “You’re a terrible liar.”

Finally, they sagged again.

“I just don’t like,” they hesitated,

Not wanting to hurt his feelings.

They shift from foot to foot.

“I just don’t like being touched.”

They looked to the floor,

Avoiding his stare.

“Anywhere. By anyone.”

Luke’s shoulders fell,

As did his expression; kind and willing to listen.

“Oh,” he finally let out.

“It’s not just you, it’s everyone.” Y/N could feel their voice waver.

They hated being this way,

Feeling complicated and stressful,

But they couldn’t help it.

On the brink of tears, Y/N could feel their throat close-in,

But Luke kneeled down,

Giving them a tender smile.

He went to place hands on their shoulders -

To steady and center them -

But stopped.

“Hey,” he gave a meek smile,

Trying to assure them everything was fine.

 “It’s okay. Take a deep breath for me.”

Y/N hesitated, but obeyed,

Eventually doing so.

They trusted Luke.

That’s why they told him so openly.

“It’s okay that you don’t like being touched,” he said softly,

Voice low in case Y/N didn’t want anyone e;se to know.

“What can I do for you?”

Y/N hesitated. “What do you mean?”

“What can I do to help you?” He asked, smiling.

Y/N eyes widened faintly.

Was he really…?

“Instead of touching, what would you like me to do?”

Y/N hesitated,

Then smiled,

Then felt their tears gradually wave back,

Then subside.

“Maybe, uh,”

They had never been asked this before.

It felt amazing.

“Maybe just call my name? When you enter a room?”

They cleared their throat nervously, but Luke nodded,

Showing he was listening.

“Or ask. You know, if I want to be touched. Or how.”

Luke nodded again.

“See? That’s easy.”

Y/N felt their ears go hot from embarrassment.

“I was worried you were going to be upset.”

Luke frowned immediately.

“Or disappointed or something.” Y/N quickly added.

Luke gave a sad smile and shook his head,

Wishing he could cradle them in his arms.

“I’ll never judge you or be upset with you for normal things, bud.”

He assured, going to ruffle their hair and stopping.

“You can always talk to me.”

They knew that’s what he was about to do.

Besides, Y/N liked it.

a trailer for Clementine Book Two dropped and y'all... it looks kinda good

T'was a stormy Thursday afternoon as I sat exhausted in my comfy chair after a long day at work, but with the weekend in sight I had little to frown about. Thunder rumbling outside, pitter patter of rain against my window, all cozy enough to make my eyes flutter shut. A nap sounded like a fine idea to start the weekend....

Then I got a notification—the Clementine Book Two trailer dropped. I bolted up from my chair, eyes narrowed down at my phone, and muttered to myself: "Aw shit, here we go again."

Yep. I'm here to dissect a trailer for a book no one wants and share my opinions and theories about it. You can watch the trailer for it here.

Honestly y'all, I think it looks good. I wouldn't say it's great or anything. I'm not THAT hopeful for Book Two. But it's a better trailer than Book One's, that's for sure. The artwork and animations look better and the music slaps.

After having watched it a few times now, I'm starting to question something about myself because I'm not nearly as offended by the existence of these books like I used to be. I still think the games are superior and the comics are indeed flawed, like I stand by all my criticisms, but seeing fans still throw temper tantrums like grumpy toddlers is just... silly? and irritating? At this point, just calm down. If this comic is really that bothersome for you, maybe you should just not look at it? Y'know, for your own well-being?

With that said, onto the screenshots and analysis:

Immediately I gotta point out the improvements in the art. I quite like these shots, there's a definite improvement over Book One.

We see a neat looking walker with either Olivia or a new character lurking behind it, Clementine's crying, and then some silhouettes of who I'm assuming are this new group, or they could be a pack of walkers.

So, I find these shots fascinating. We get a look at a bunch of new characters, and it looks like this new island group is a good mix of ages. We have a kid with an amputated arm, a character in wheelchair- though I believe that first shot kind of looks like Clementine based on the hair and the fact that Ricca and Olivia are there, and that second group screenshot shows a different person using one so maybe they have multiple chairs or something.

I feel like Book One missed an opportunity with the first community Clementine visited, the one where she met Amos and got her new leg. There are other characters there with prosthetics and you'd think Clementine might be interested in speaking to them, y'know? Not many people know what it's like to lose a limb, especially the way she did, and it might be nice for her to related to someone who has gone through a similar experience.

So if Clementine and friends are staying her for a long period of time, I would like to see her talk with that kid missing an arm, or the person using the wheelchair. There's a lot of potential in that.

Also, I do feel like I should bring this up because a criticism I keep hearing about this is the same bullshit I always hear: "A new group with children? The games already did this! Tillie's just copying TFS!"

How many times do I have to read this before I'm allowed to just start grunting disdainly at people?

Like I dunno if y'all have forgotten, but every single season of TWDG had Clementine meet a new group of people, and all of them had at least one kid around her age. TFS didn't invent the concept of a group of kids surviving in the apocalypse, and TWD has several instances of main characters meeting new groups.

Pretty much everything in TWD has been done. If you're gonna be pissy about this comic rehashing previous tropes and ideas, then I better hear you also being pissy about everything post the original TWD comics, and that includes every season of TWDG.

And yes, I get it. It's annoying that Clementine left Ericson and now she's finding a new group. Nothing new is being said here, we've all said it a million times, we know already.

And then there's this:

"but Clem already had a mentor! What about Lee??"

I don't know if you've heard, but Lee's super dead and no longer available for any mentor position.

Luke, Kenny, and Jane were also mentor characters for Clementine in S2. ANF she had Javi. Then in S4 she became the mentor character with AJ. This is a nothing criticism. Hell, you can't even call it that because what it really boils down to is bitching over nothing.

That's what I'm so over. Every time I see someone complain that the comics are just copying the games or whatever, I get irritated because that's not a real criticism. It's people looking to validate their dislike of the comics by making it sound way worse than it really is. You don't have to like the comics, and you can take issue with their existence. There are plenty of things to criticize about Book One that have nothing to do with the damn games, and while I can hope Book Two is an improvement, I am skeptical.

But I'm bored of your "#notmyclementine," it's says nothing new.

ANYWAY... my ranting aside, this must be Miss Morro. I'm curious about her and what her deal is. She's supposedly an "enigmatic doctor" and I'm interested to see if she turns out to be the secret baddie of this book or a red herring.

Ah yes, I'm sure everything on this island isn't going to be super normal, all happy sunshine and rainbows... until it's not. Because that's just how TWD operates.

It looks like they have a nice set up. They have boats for what I assume is fishing, a lot of land, buildings, and are those balloons I see? floating up from a car?? That tells me there's some sort of celebration that's gonna happen.

And it looks like Clementine has her new hat. Not as iconic as her old hat, but I'm sure the sunhat will make a name for itself.

Ah okay. The other thing people were pissy about.

We're still pushing this love story between Clementine and Ricca, just as we did in Book One's trailer.... only for the "romance" in Book One to be lackluster, or rather, nonexistent. As I said in my review, Clementine had more chemistry with Amos than she did with Ricca and that's not great when Ricca's supposed to be the main love interest.

But if we're still doing this, and we clearly are because their hands are touching and we all know that's THE #1 sign of true love, then y'know what? I'm rooting for it.

Don't look at me like that. I'm not letting go of clouis for clemricca, y'all should know better than that. I'm not so weak willed as to think that entertaining the idea of Clementine and Ricca being together in these comics will somehow hurt my love of clouis. The games and comics exist as separate things, it's fine.

I want to see where Tillie takes this. I want to see if Ricca's allowed to be a fleshed out character and not just a place holder love interest. Now that Amos is gone [or is he?] then we should have some free time to devote to them, no?

Also, to answer your question: No, it's never safe to fall in love, this is TWD, don't be silly.

I know you're trying to make me think Miss Morro has the dark secret... but I'm suspicious that it's a trick.

Y'all wanna take bets on what the secret of Miss Morro/the island group is? Are they a cult? Cannibals? Doin' weird shit with the walkers? Is this island like the island in Lost and monster bullshit's about to happen?

What's gonna be the twist here, y'know? Tell me what you think, the more absurd the better.

I'm going with the plot twist that they're all genuinely nice people except there's a traitor amongst the group out for revenge... and that traitor is Arvo who got wind that Clementine named her prosthetic after Kenny, remembered how terrible the ending of S2 was, and wants revenge.

That's a lot of walkers.

Looks like a herd will pass through the area... wonder if they just happened by or if someone led them there, hmmm?

Lots of Clementine tears in this trailer, and given she and Ricca are both crying, some emotional shit's probably going down. Maybe they're talking about what happened in Book One, maybe Olivia's just died, maybe Clementine's going more in-depth about her past is ways that will give me a headache. Who knows.

Y'know... I know this won't happen, but a part of me wants a plot twist where Clementine abandons the group and saves herself. I mean, she already abandoned Ericson. She's clearly capable of abandoning AJ for selfish reasons. I would be impressed if Clementine and Ricca just left when shit hit the fan and saved themselves while the island group just burns.

But this IS a YA story, so Clementine's gonna be the hero and sacrifice everything to save everyone, and survive. There's a final book after this so I'm positive that Clementine and Ricca are safe.

Given this kid's crying and we get a close up of the walker's face, I'm predicting that the walker is someone they knew. Or they've never had to kill one before.

Amos is here, except not really. I'm 99% sure Clementine's dying [again] and is having a dream sequence with Amos telling her she's not gonna die.

Listen, I'm gonna be real with you. I don't think Amos is dead. Unless you show me his corpse or him as a walker, I don't believe he died. Nope. Sorry, but no. You know how this works. Proof, or get outta here with this "Amos couldn't have survived the fall" nonsense. I know he was shoved off a cliff but c'mon. I have to hold out hope for SOMETHING, and that something is the shocking return of an alive Amos.

Also, very interesting that Clementine's seeing him at all. What, no Lee suddenly appearing to her? It's almost like she had a great dynamic and chemistry with Amos over the the rest of the group and his supposed "death" had a big impact on her.

This trailer does a lot better at creating intrigue over what's going to happen. And to clarify, while I'm hopeful that this comic will be an improvement over the first, I'm not expecting it to blow my mind or anything. I'm not expecting it to be great, but I wouldn't complain if it was, y'know?

I already have my copy pre-ordered. I'm prepared to read it ten times so that I can write a thorough "I read it so you don't have to" analysis and review.

And because this has to be said since the trailer's comments are disabled: don't be a dick, y'know? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the trailer and what we know of Book Two so far, but if you're just gonna spew nonsense about hating Tillie or try to convince me she's bad, just... piss off? I don't care, no one cares, come back when you have something of value to add to the conversation. Thanks.
