HI FRIENDS!!!! so i got into cult of the lamb around january and in that time i have worked on a bunch of art and only JUST finished this MONSTER of a project. its taken alot of time because of how slow i am, plus life stuff and other art projects aswell- but MAN IM JUST EXCITED TO FINALLY POST THIS LOL!!! :D!!!!!

so this is my concept art for my lamb characters! i have like 6 different aus already and a few of em has their own version of the lamb and i love them sm- heres some background info on em if ur curious!

Lambert - the Sacred Lamb - genderqueer, they/them - demiro/demisexual - Valais blacknose sheep - weapon of choice: sword based off of my interpretation of the canon lamb and their story! silly, merciful, kind to their flock, but also a tad fucked up. silly lil guy!! silly lil goober! i love them! :D!!! they also have the "vessel and god to enemies to friends to lovers" pipeline with narinder, and lemme tell you when i finally get to drawing art for them its OVER for yall

Sherpa - The Zealot - agender, they/them - demiro/ace - Scottish blackface sheep - weapon of choice: dagger the idea of them was: "what if the lamb had a very unhealthy obsession with religion and their god and was so incredibly fucked up about it" and thats how sherp was born baybeyyyyyyy their story includes alot of dark religious themes and it gets really sad and messed up. their relationship with narinder is reallllll toxic. at first at least. kinda. idk their au has 2 endings and in one it gets better and in the other it gets. alooot worse lol. we love that for them <3

Laramie - The Black Sheep - pengender, they/he/she - pansexual/panromantic/polyamorous - Shetland sheep - weapon of choice: axe so basically. they were inspired by the term black sheep. theyre a lil failure who cant do anything right, has horrible self esteem, and cannot handle being the "prophetic lamb" at all. they die all the time, and many followers ended up losing faith in her early on, its a mess lmao him and narinder dont actually have anything romantic going on, their relationship in this au is moreso a mentor and student type thing. also laramie has a huge polycule by the time narinder is freed. and she also gets downbad for heket when she shows up dfjljhdsfsdfgb

im so excited to do art for the au's i have aaaaaaaaaa, but rn im finishing up some bishop art!!! so look forward to that!!

Every time a religious conservative says "Preaching about eternal damnation isn't inherently bad, it's only harmful when christians fail to relay the message in a godly way!" I lose a brain cell.

It's like saying eating radioactive waste isn't inherently bad for your health, it's just the way you consume it that's harmful.

You cannot tell someone they're going to suffer in Hell for all eternity if they don't obey a certain religion in a non manipulative way, just like you cannot tell someone they deserve to get their teeth kicked without being a bully.

on the one hand I do not care about the bible at all but john darnielle was really describing me when he said “people… who, like I, am just totally irrationally obsessed with the goddamn bible, right? who like, have it somewhere in their blood, right? That you can’t—you don’t wanna be thinking about the bible because you put all that shit behind you, but at the same time, in your idle hours, you sit there going “oh yeah, the bible.”

anyway I am thinking about an interpretation of judas’ betrayal that I learned in bible class in hs and how I have never heard it from anyone but That bible teacher & it makes me so mad because it makes so much sense & makes judas so much more of a sympathetic figure And Yet basically no evangelicals believe it because they don’t care about learning historical context. why won’t they join me in hallucinating a shady grove where judas went to die.

Every time I feel like bad about myself or guilty I get this like. itch where where I think "I need to repent" and then just kind of sit there like. Oh. Right we're not doing that anymore.

It's been one of the toughest things about leaving the church because you had an (albeit unhealthy) outlet for all of your guilt. Like you might hate every bit of yourself, you might have internalized that everything about you is wrong but if you lament enough to God, if you starve yourself long enough, if you put that intense self-doubt into some kind of physical action, you think God can save you from yourself.

When I get tired I miss being able to just give my problems to God, I miss being able to just settle in with all of that hurt and disappointment because at least I didn't have to actually deal with these things.

And like apologizing isn't repentance yk? When I do actually make mistakes and own up to that it's not for forgiveness or for validation because I've lived through enough situations now that I've learned that your apologies aren't for you, that's simply not their purpose, that's fine and healthy.

But then I'm left not knowing how to forgive or validate myself for the crime of existing, of taking up space, of just... being alive in all the ways I was taught against growing up and it's so hard to deal with. Like who am I without a god to tell me that I'm worth something, to assign me a purpose, and to tell me that I'm okay?

There's just, this huge sense of loss when I think about all the things believing in a Christian God did to me for me. It just really sucks.

to get personal for a post - Anneliese posted this last month and I’m still thinking about it. It takes “the worst person you know just made a great point” to whole new levels because of all the people in the world to make me realize I was masking disordered eating it had to be her ?! high volume is pushed heavily in most sub-sects of dietary groups, i experienced it most in macro tracking and intermittent fasting communities and never thought twice. it’s something I still prioritize.

But the soldier's pleas did not fall on deaf ears. Even worse - they fell on indifferent ears. Oh yes, his plight was fully acknowledged; It was only help that was not coming.

What was worse? To die, unheard, or to have one's screams ignored by a stranger and one's death spectated like some common street show..?

How could this man... this man... engrave these images into his unblinking eyes and watch?

"Fuck..! Curse you! You monster! The Earl will - he will punish you..!"

Yes, the Earl would... the Earl never turned a blind eye. The God of Gaudium would smite all these wretched, monstrous nonbelievers to hell.

The wounded warrior attempted to rise only to fall short, a soundless laughter ringing in his ears. The woods were silent. The screams of agony had ceased, now. He was alone, and the trees were mocking him. Every windswept rustle of foliage sending shivers down his spine as scratched-up hands clawed the dirt in a futile attempt to escape. The trees howled in laughter, the sound almost forming words.

Where is your God now? Where, oh where could he be?

His one true God and his protection. He did not protect his comrades, now, did he?

Because the Hunter could hardly be evaded. Whether he crossed a God or a Devil, the Hunter did not care. Perhaps that was the reason even the Earl feared him.

After all, what was a God to a Godkiller?

The gait of the distant silhouette shifted, mechanical paws moving faster, strides lengthening until the beast's hind legs pushed off the ground, a monstrous form sailing through the air with the killer grace of a predator. And then he knew.

His god? Was only prey. And him - well, he was less than dirt.

A shrill wail pierced the eerie quiet, blood pouring onto the thirsty earth as razor-sharp claws and teeth tore at the Gaudian soldier's back. No, this death would not come quickly. The performance would drag on mercilessly. The jaws of the beast latched onto a feebly kicking leg to lift its prey up, then slam down with no remorse. Crack. And again. Crunch.

Crack.

Until it all fell silent.

The strange creature sank its maw into the mangled corpse, chewing slowly. Its tail swished back and forth behind it, leaving a ghastly trail. The wet tearing of flesh ceased after a short while, however; A darksteel head lifting to sniff at the air, suddenly so lifelike. Indeed - was this an animal, or a machine? Perhaps, something inbetween?

Or beyond either.

The moonlike glyph - a substitute for eyes..? - faced the tree where the gunslinger was hidden, an uncomfortable moment of simply staring.

And then, a rustle in the treeline.

Forth came a figure shrouded in pitch blackness, his features obscured. He walked without urgency, gaze sweeping the gory mess in front of him. And then, a single reflective eye found Xigbar - with ease ill befitting a human.

More silhouettes appeared out of the darkness, glows of vibrant violet and burning gold. There seemed to be at the very least three other beasts, one of them also bearing a curved sword in place of a tail. Where the first creature's was spectral blue, this one was a fiery orange.

"Death." The figure said with unbroken calmness, entirely unbothered by the carnage.

The beasts headed for the tree.

Tried to read one of those “politically incorrect” histories of Western civilization (because I like to play Devil’s advocate and try to better understand other people’s rhetoric, even when I don’t agree with it), but couldn’t get any further than the fourth chapter. Eighty percent of it was just rambling on and on about the Bible (with endless Biblical quotes)...!! o.O

I guess some people just don’t understand the difference between religious fiction and factual HISTORY. *screams*

I'm sorry, I love Hellaverse as much as the next guy but people cheering that "Fizz gained weight and it's a sign of healing!" are not serious. He gained as much weigh as Valentino lost between Masquerade and Welcome to Heaven aka he changed outfit. If they really wanted to convey this massage of healing, there are ways to do it in animation that don't make 50% of people doubt it's even real.

We can love the show and still acknowledge that Vivzie absolutely sucks when it comes to body diversity and 2 of 3 fat characters she has just perpetuate harmful stereotype that being fat goes hand in hand with being rich, lazy, incompetent and lack of self awareness (they are basically Dudleys of this universe). And that is intentional, see, the literal sin of Gluttony (not all fat people are gluttonous obviously but yes, eating more than someone needs - which gluttony means - makes people fat) is right there but apparently she's too cool and too nice to be fat. Beside Mammon and Adam we have Mimzy. Technically she is not that bad but let's be real she's hated more than the rapist or the genocidal zealot. And since writing in Hellaverse is vary smart in my opion I don't believe Mimzy was created to be liked by audience. From interrupting one of the best songs, to crossing Alastor's boundaries and just being a bad friend, she was doomed from the beginning.

None of the characters we should actually root for is fat. And while being fat is not something that "should be explained" by other character's traits, even if we chose to follow this very flawed logic there are plenty of likeable characters that have """a reason""" to be fat. Alastor and Rosie are foodie-coded, Husk drinks a lot of booze, Vox spends most of the time watching TV, Lucifer is depressed and barely leaves his room... Okay but honestly if we reverse this way of thinking and actually stop treating skinny a default body shape there is only one character that has """a reason""" to be this skinny and it's Angel Dust who - as a famous pornstar - has to be commonly (yes we live in the society and porn industry treats fat people like fetish, not actually attractive human beings) desirable and easy to sexualize. Any character in the shows could be fat but choices were made.

And by the way I think they did a terrible job with the whole Fizz's eating disorder thing because when he supposed to be "skinny in the unhealthy way" he looks like 95% of characters.

Anyway, even your favorite media deserves valid criticism.
