You cheer with the crowd as the cast of Legacies goes up on the stage. You're sat in the third row from the stage, eyes tracking Danielle's movements as she sits on her chair. She has no idea you flew to Georgia and arrived last night. It's a surprise you planned for her since you've both been so busy and have been missing each other.

The panel starts with a heap of people all lined up neatly, which is a bit surprising, but nice, to ask the cast questions. There's laughter and amusement radiating from the cast and the audience.

You try not to flush too much and to your own amusement, not bust out laughing, when someone gets to the microphone and asks a question about Danielle's girlfriend, which would be you. They've only seen you in a background of a live and a story of Jenny and Kaylee's on behind the scenes of legacies throwback.

Danielle obviously flushed right away at the question. Meanwhile Kaylee and Jenny chuckled, knowing the younger woman's utterly in love and infatuated with you.

You pulled out your phone and recorded her response, saving it for later. Her response was so sweet and you could see the love in her eyes.

"...And she's the best person to be around no matter my mood." She smiles lovesick.

"If you don't believe her, don't worry, we have proof" Jenny raised her eyebrows in encouragement, pointing to herself and Kaylee. "Ooh yeah" Kaylee smirks back at Danielle's embarrassment of her two best friends.

The cast and crowd chuckles at the teasing circle of the three friends.

As the panel goes on, you have a hard time not staring at Danielle, even if she's not the one talking or answering a question. Though at one point your eyes traveled over to Kaylee beside Dani, and your eyes lock.

Kaylee's mouth shaped into an 'o' shape before she smirked, discrettly looking from you to Danielle and back. She asks you with her eyes about confirmation, and you nod back, a smirk playing on your face, mirroring hers.

While Jenny answers a question about her character's wardrobe change during the seasons, Kaylee leans to the side and nudges Danielle in the side. The younger girl looks over to her friend, her eyebrows furrowed together in question.

Though instead of answering, she nodded into the crowd. Skeptically, Danielle turned her gaze into the crowd and searched around for what Kaylee was getting at.

And then her eyes landed on you.

You, her beautiful girlfriend who she had no idea was here.

Her cheeks immediately flushed, and you mouthed 'I love you', making her eyes widen and smile lovestruck.

"Ooh, what's got your attention Ms. Russell?" Jenny puts the focus onto Danielle, noticing the playful smirk on Kaylee's face and the flush on Dani's face turning more concentrated from her question.

"Um..nothing" the younger woman answers, shyness making its way into her voice. "Uh huh," Jenny says all 'serious'.

Before Jenny could probe more at Danielle, and much to the woman's relief the call for the panel ending is said.

They all said goodbye to the crowd and walked down the stairs to behind the stage. They went onto the huge grass field, occupying some of the other cast members from the vampire diaries and the originals and tents for shade containing tables with water for them to stay hydrated. Except for one.

Kaylee stayed behind and waved you over as everyone started standing from their seats to leave from this panel. You nod your head and sling your purse over your shoulder before discreetly walking over to her, hoping no one in the crowd takes notice.

Once you get there she leads you back stage and pulls you into a hug. "Hey Kaylee" you chuckle. "Hi" she pulls away, "Oh my gosh, I missed you so much. Aaand, I'm pretty sure your wifey missed you as well" Kaylee raises her eyebrow multiple times in a row for teasing.

You steer your direction over to where Jenny is grilling your girlfriend for answers to her question that got cut off from the ending of the panel.

"I should probably go save her, huh?" You cross your arms, leaning against Kaylee, who's arm is around your shoulders.

"That's probably a good idea, yeah" Kaylee chuckles and waves you off 'enchantedly' making you playfully roll your eyes and start you short journey over to Dani and Jenny.

"There's gotta be a good reason why you were as pink as bubblegum up there" you hear Jenny say with a teasing smirk.

Before Dani can answer, you bud in, "I think I may know the answer" you say, making them both turn towards you.

"Y/n/n!" Danielle exclaims and runs into your open arms. She hugs you tightly, head nuzzled into the crevice between your shoulder and neck.

"Hey, baby" you wrap your arms around her back, holding her closes to you. "You miss me?" you smile after ten seconds of her in your tight hold.

"Mhm," she nods into your skin, inhaling your floral perfume.

You start to rub one of your hands in circles on her back before looking up to the taller woman in front of you both. "Hey, Jen" You smile.

"Hey! So you're the reason our sweet friend became all shy and pink" Jenny teases, a big smile playing on her face as well.

That made Danielle slacken her grip on you a bit and turns to look up at Jenny. "Shut up" Dani gets all shy again.

"Oh, I'm sure she didn't mean it" You kiss her forehead, and as soon as she looks away, you wink to Jenny.

cobra kai - originally joined cobra kai when he was still in his asshole king steve era esp bc tommy & carol did as well & of course he always followed where they went. when he decides to change & better himself as a person & dump those assholes he joins miyagi-do & the rest is history this is very vague bc i know there's so much dramas between the dojos & everything & all that but i know very little so here's the basic basics - i hope that's good enough/works cobra kai people pls feel free to correct me -

tvdu - okay so i've actually decided to do a verse for each show since i legit couldn't figure out what exactly to do or how to connect him across all three so (to note so i don't have to repeat it both times, in both tvd & to, has been a vampire for at least 10 years at the point of the verse & was turned at 19) ...

tvd - moves to mystic falls about a year before the events of the show, decides to pull a stefan/cullen family & attends mystic high. it's also here he meets robin, the kids, etc, all that. then the events of the show start happening, he realizes he's not the only vampire/supernatural being in town & ends up mixed up in the many events that happen over the course of tvd in various ways & such

the originals - moves to new orleans as a new place to live/hide out so it doesn't get sus when he stays somewhere & doesn't age over the years. you know the vampire drill. somehow, some way or another ends up mixed with the shenanigans of the originals & their family & people brought into their circle ...

legacies - not long after he's turned by the vampire, gabriel - he hears of a school for young supernaturals & decides to check it out. despite being physically 19, he's able to attend especially when the school seems to be more helping these young people - rather than educating them. having a place to figure all this out & to go through it not alone is really nice & he ends up meeting some of his best & closest friends while attending it

oz - steve is from winkie country, had his asshole king steve era in hs but starts shiz the same time as our mcs & really views this as a way to have a fresh start & to be a whole new, better, person as he left king steve behind the year before he graduated hs but so many people still couldn't let that version of him go. so he starts shiz as a better person, never bullies elphie, in fact is friendly towards/her friend & majorly on her side throughout things. probably stands up for her. when everything goes down & she's made out to be the wicked witch he's extremely sus of it all, doesn't believe a word of anything & is the most sus of glinda ...

grey's anatomy - steve grows up in seattle instead of hawkins/whatever small town. still meets & knows all his people there. he doesn't necessarily experience the HorrorsTM or even the fandomless version of them, but he still experiences traumas bc of course he does - he's steve. & maybe a few of them end him up at seattle grace/grey-sloan & gets to know some of those just-as-traumatized surgeons ...

shameless - steve is a cousin of the gallaghers, on his dad's side - frank his some relative of his. but he grew up not really knowing that side of the family, his father refusing to acknowledge or associate with them ... until steve was 10 & came home one day to find his parents gone. gone completely, moved & out & away & having left steve behind. already living in (the upper/nicer part) of chicago, & knowing that 'good for nothing family' of his father's also lives there ... he decides to do some searching, ends up finding their address & after many taxis & subway rides ... arrives on the gallagher's door step. there's some debate about taking him, of course there is - it's another mouth to feed. but at the end of the day, he's family & if there's one thing gallaghers are known for, it's their loyalty to family. (plus the kid has such big sad eyes it'd be cruel to leave him behind). and it's not long before you'd never know there was a time where there was only six gallagher siblings ... (to be clear/for reference), steve is the middle kid - a year older than debbie)

seeing ghosts au - steve was able to see ghosts from the time he was young, always seeing them in places & knowing they were there ... haunting him. but whenever he tried to bring it up, his parents were quick to dismiss him, telling him it was all in his head. & no one else believed him (so he soon stopped telling anyone). but steve knew, steve knew he wasn't crazy. he knew they were real. especially when the girl who died after being taken from his pool wouldn't quit haunting his backyard. eventually ... eventually, he finds people who believe him & starts communicating with the dead more often

the hunger games - a boy from district 1 who volunteers as tribute when his young friend, dustin henderson, is reaped. only to be thrown into a world of chaos & pain & choice he doesn't know how he's going to make when his best friend, robin buckley, is also reaped. the games are hard, full of pain & when it comes down to making that tough choice ... well it really only comes down to one (stobin pulls an everlark, to be clear)

It's wild because I have exactly one episode of Vampire Diaries left and I've been saving it since *checks blog* a little over a week ago (versus the six episodes a night I was watching back in season 1) and I keep telling myself I have to watch the ending if only so I know what I'm working with in fic but also I do want to see the return of Elena (and Katherine) but also I don't want to see Stefan die (or Damon and Elena in a flashforward apparently? How will they have time for all this, honestly?) but I do want to see how they manage to break the curse with Bonnie still alive (but maybe it wouldn't be so bad to write my fic without knowing) but I don't know. I'm notorious for not watching the last few episodes of shows I love (White Collar, Psych, Once Upon a Time, although that last I ragequit over many minor grievances with multiple seasons left so it's not really the same thing) but I keep telling myself that if you don't watch the end of a thing then you just have less of the thing that you love but like I turned the TV on to watch it just now and I'm actually so nervous? I both do and don't want to watch it so intensely, so I had to open up tumblr and blog about it. I could save it another week but I want to watch it before the intensity of my obsession starts to fade but I know this is going to hurt me, emotionally and profoundly. Maybe I can stretch it out to two episodes by stopping in the middle or something idk. But aaaaaaaaa I don't know I'm not ready but I feel like I have to watch it. Help me I don't know. I need some of you internet people to come over and watch this with me or something lol I don't know. I'm so nervous I'm not prepared but I don't want to put this off forever either. Welcome to a new legacy based off the television series The Vampire Diaries, featuring both an occult free version for players that prefer realism and an optional occult related track for every generation.

You do not need to have seen the show to play the challenge, however if you want to watch it eventually, there will be spoilers for both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals.

When posting playthroughs, please use the tag #tvduchallenge or #ts4tvduc so others can see your gameplay! This challenge was written by mythsanddragons focusing on the major characters in the series.

GENERAL RULES

It is recommended that while each generation follows each characters’ story, that you don’t try to replicate their story exactly as shown in the show. Even though the goals track their storyline progression through the series, I encourage you to play around, change aspects, and have fun!

The aspirations and skills listed should be completed. You may need to complete other skills for the sims aspiration or career. The skills chosen are more based on personality and hobbies the characters are shown having in the series. When it comes to the aspirations, if there is an ‘and/or’ you may do one or all of the listed aspirations. It’s up to you what you choose for your childhood aspirations. If no teen aspiration is mentioned, you may do what you wish for that character.

The goals are more story oriented than goal oriented, though some correlate directly to accomplishing goals. If you wish to skip certain goals or move them to another category, you’re welcome to. Part one is for teen goals and part two is for YA and above.

Play on whatever lifespan you’d like. I’d recommend a long lifespan or a custom one to be able to accomplish all the storytelling goals without rushing and give you some breathing room, but you’re welcome to try and do everything in a shorter lifespan. You can also change the lifespan for certain generations if they feel like you’re getting through faster than others.

It is suggested that you use mods, especially to accomplish certain goals listed. If you can’t or don’t use mods, you can either do storytelling for that goal or ignore it completely.

You can alter generations to fit your game as this challenge was made with all packs in mind.

Some cheating is allowed, if you like, to reach certain storyline goals or to move things in the needed direction. There are specific areas in certain generations where you might wish to do so to progress the story forward.

In instances where you need to move a lot, you may occasionally cheat for a home if you can’t afford one.

University is listed for most generations, as several of the characters went to college in the series. You’re welcome to pause time during it, shorten it with mods, or not do it at all, if it doesn’t interest you.

You may choose an heir in any way you like. Heirs do not need to be the same in any aspect as the generation’s namesake.

Spin the event wheel whenever you’re told, but if you’re looking for more to do during any generation you may use it to spice things up.

Since the majority of TVD is about grief and learning how to live in the face of it, make sure you celebrate both life and death. For every sim that is important, be sure to have a funeral.

FAQ

Why are there so many traits listed?

Mostly, it's for variety. You can choose the traits you feel best represent the character listed and/or the sim you’re playing. Also, for people who play with the more traits mod, it gives them the opportunity to define their sim more. Some traits can be swapped out at different times during a character’s lifetime to better reflect what they are experiencing. It’s really up to you. If you don’t know what to pick, feel free to roll for it.

Where do the Occult Optional Goals fit in?

Basically, you’d insert the goals into the list of the non-occult goals. You may place them wherever you like, though in some generations I give clues as to where they might fit in the best. You never have to follow those guides if you have an idea you like better for the placement of the occult goals.

Which generation should I play first?

If you have a favorite, you’re welcome to jump to it. However, I did write Stefan’s generation to be last and I tried to place them in an order where the characters that have interlocking plot lines are further apart in most cases to make it less redundant.

Can I skip a generation if I don’t like it/the character?

If you want! Though, if you’re doing it just because you don’t like a character, you might enjoy playing their story more than watching it because you’ll have a chance to make the character more interesting.

Why is character XYZ not a generation?

I tried to stick to the main characters that were in the series. The only main character I skipped, I believe, is Enzo because most of his life was in captivity or he was a ghost. If enough people want a certain character generation done though, I’m happy to try and create one.

Wait, some of these generations require me to play sims running away or other storylines where they are not in the same household as the previous generation. What if I’m not done with the previous generation’s goals when the next generation is a teen?

There’s a few ways you can handle this. You can stop aging until you’re ready to deal with it or you can rotationally play with your two heirs’ households. I’m sure there’s other ways to handle it as well, if you want to. Get creative!

Do I have to stick with the color palette? 

Only if you want to. They are based primarily on the colors the characters are seen wearing a lot or a color that is associated with the feel of their generation. They aren’t a requirement, but there for fun, as I personally like color associations.

Will this get updated?

If new packs come out that work with the legacy, or if I notice there are goals that aren’t working how I want them too when I play it through, it might!

Somehow, you figure it out and decide that life is worth living to the fullest. You find that you love to help people and find purpose in assisting others, allowing them to find their second chance as well. PART ONE

PART TWO

Find out you’re adopted and decide if you want to search for your birth parents

Become friends with a teacher

Cheat on your partner with someone who is the opposite of you that you have a steamy/unpredictable dynamic with

Leave the wholesome relationship  

Go to university for biology

Lose someone close to you

Halfway through uni drop out due to feeling lost

If using the med school mod in your gameplay, you may finish uni and instead of dropping out, take a break between uni and med school.

Gain the self absorbed trait

Spin event wheel 3 times and follow through during your break from school

If you do not spin for a fire, have your sims start a fire

Party, drink, go on a bender

Be mean to your friends and everyone you meet during this period of your life

Make a lifelong enemy

►You always feel like you’re playing second fiddle. You’re neurotic, somewhat of a control freak, and know that if you want something done, you have to do it yourself. While you put on a facade of everything being perfect, inside things aren’t so bright and cheery. You often feel as shallow as a kiddie pool, but you’re working on it, and that has to count for something, right? Your life is nothing like what you expected it to be, but you find love and acceptance in unexpected places. You might not always be the first pick, but you’ll always make every moment count.

Favorite non cannon Bonnie ships ranked:

this is just my opinion so don't come for me, but I based this ranking on character interactions, certain plot elements, and overall potential

bonnie x me - because I will treat her right, she's a baddie (not even atrocious styling could deny that face card!!), and we're already married in my head so..

jk.. but actually:

klonnie - this one grew on me when I heard joseph himself shipped them. it just makes sense that he'd be drawn to bonnie considering she's not just any other person to him. her bloodline has direct ties to his family and she's gone head-to-head against him multiple times. klaus is calculated asf from the moment we meet him so he'd probably go into their relationship trying to play with her head and keep her close as a potential tool for his own agenda (in a keep ur enemies close kinda-way), but he ends up falling for her along the way. bonnie's level-headed and mature nature would balance out klaus's more irrational chaos - maybe in a similar way klaus works with cami in the originals (my fav cannon klaus ship).

2. stefonnie - this one isn't talked about enough. remember in s1 when elena set up that dinner between her, stefan, and bonnie. elena was so set on bonnie liking stefan when they first got together. the early seasons really seemed invested in laying the foundation of stefan x bonnie with how protective he is of her. it seemed like their relationship should have only grown from there & there's no reason why it was just abandoned. plus, there's so many parallels between their plotlines: in s5 they both spend the summer indisposed (stefan drowning the whole time and bonnie being dead) and no one noticing. they couldve meaningfully bonded over that shared trauma. the otherside literally exists because bonnie's ancestor was cheated on by stefan's (original face, doppleganger?) whatever silas is - with her handmaid Amara.. so many stefonnie parrallels go ignored by the writers!

3. bonkai - one of my favorites. i wish we got more of a romantic or seggual payoff from these two bc the built up was certainly there for a darker romance kinda vibe. similar to the other villainxprotagonist couples in this show but no epic romantic payoff for bonnie i guess.. the actors' chemistry with each other in these scenes carries the ship for me & in the hands of writers that gaf about these characters it couldve been epic.

4. bamon - i know this one comes from the book & it's a fan favorite, but this actually feels more out of left field than stefonnie for me. that's not to say i don't like it. the second half of the show was for bamon and the writer's knew it. that's why they had to keep reinforcing that they're 'just friends' or else their chemistry would have turned tvd into the bamon show..

5. bonnie x katherine - i love the idea of a bi bonnie (clearly). lots of fans pair her with nora but i hate everything about the heretic storyline and the characters so i prefer katherine. they didn't interact much, but hear me out, katherine has always found herself paired with a bennett witch (emily in the 1800s, bonnie's cousin) and i think they'd be cute. i love katherine the most when she's not obsessing over the salvatore brothers or jealous of elena so i think pairing her with bonnie would offer a refreshing perspective of her character.

What are your top 5 episodes on both TO and TVD?

This took me some time to put together but if you push me on any of these, I'll probably cave. I haven't rewatched in a while and I feel like I would have to sit down and actually rank them to get a list I feel confident in. A lot of my favorite scenes aren't even in this list because the rest of the episode just doesn't rank high for me. But without further ado, here is my tentative top episode list.

Top 5 Episodes for TVD

5. 1x22 - Founder's Day

Despite how problematic the 'Founder's Day' was (like how they completely disregarded the actual founders. Justice for the Bennetts), Katherine's entrance was done so well. The revelation was a great twist and I love watching people watch this episode for the first time.

It's not higher because everything else was kind of just a normal episode. I love at this point we are getting glimpses of how powerful Bonnie is and Stefan's devotion to Damon. It also begins to build on the mystery of Tyler which was fun. But other than that, it was just a lot of high school drama. Katherine's entrance really made this episode.

This is one that I would probably replace if I rewatched.

4. 6x21 - I'll Wed You In the Summertime /6x22 - I'm Thinking of You All the While

I'm already cheating and combing these episodes, but they are basically just a continuation.

I want to preface this with saying, I hate Matthew Davis more than I can express. I also don't think I like Alaric much in the later seasons. But I did really like him and Jo. This episode was so cute and light and fun. Up until it wasn't in true TVDU fashion.

I loved seeing season 1 Elena again. I will always defend Elena when people get misogynistic with her, but vampire Elena was not my favorite. When she took the cure, I felt like we got the old Elena back. If they hadn't of done that, I probably wouldn't have been sad to see her leave.

We got some really touching moments between Elena, Bonnie, and Caroline, with them getting ready and their goodbye. Bonnie and the feathers had me in tears the first time I watched this episode. We get Stefan torturing Damon with the fact that Damon loves being a vampire, sorry but I loved it. Caroline and Tyler actually talking as friends. Tyler and Liv making me sob. Stefan and Caroline moment. Kai's reappearance was terrible but pretty epic. Bonnie just being an amazing badass. Just all of the chaos was great and Damon faking us out thinking he wouldn't save Bonnie but then ultimately doing so.

My biggest complaint was that Bonnie was so separate from everyone, dealing with Lily with just Matt for back up. Though I do love a good Bonnie/Matt team up.

3. 3x05 - The Reckoning

Surprisingly, this was the first episode I ever saw of the TVDU. I was at a family member's home for a holiday and they had it on and I was hooked. Not only did I love the friendship dynamics in this episode, but the villains were so good. Klaus and Rebekah were unhinged in this episode. It was a great introduction to the best aspects of TVDU.

Stefan fighting the compulsion for Elena is one of the reasons I'll always have a soft spot for Stelena. I loved Matt and Bonnie's friendship in this episode. They were both such selfless people and I loved moments we got of them together. I don't typically like Damon and Katherine, but even their interactions were so funny in this episode.

2. 4x20 - The Originals

Is this cheating?

I always get so excited when I get to this episode because it's time to switch over to The Originals. But come on, we get to meet Cami and Marcel. We get haylijah and klamille's meeting.

It is weird that I almost like it more than the pilot of TO? Just purely for the nostalgia. Also because the pilot removed some of my favorite scenes that I always forget aren't there until I rewatch TO and then i have to go find wherever TVD is streaming.

And then stuff is still happening back in Mystic Falls, I guess.

I could probably also replace this one on a rewatch with a more TVD focused episode but I can't think of any right now.

2x08 - Rose

No one is surprised this one tops the list. Not only is it the introduction of the Originals, but more importantly it's Elijah's introduction. I know I am biased, but this is my favorite episode in TVD and usually the one I start with on rewatches.

I also love Rose and Trevor (RIP). But the tension in this episode is so good and the show struggled to recreate it. They built up Klaus' entrance so much that it was kind of disappointing. Nothing could live up to the hype. But Elijah came out of nowhere. We didn't even know he existed before this episode. He just shows up, all creepy and mysterious, and then just casually comes back to life after being staked in the heart.

I wouldn't change a thing about this episode.

Top 5 Episodes for TO

5. 3x09 - Savior

I'm a sucker for a Christmas episode.

But let's be honest, this is one of the best TO episodes.

We get the trio's reunion, if only briefly. We get Rebekah going mad and trying to kill everyone while dropping some hard to hear truths (sorry Hayley). We get Jackson starting to accept his in-laws. Cute scenes between the Mikaelsons, actually including Hope. Finn helping Freya save their siblings. Freya's first Christmas with her family. Klamille's first kiss. Plus a bunch of drama in the background.

One of my biggest complaints with TO is that it doesn't give us moments of just peace and let them be a family. It is so action packed that we never get to just have a comfort episode. It only took them 3 seasons, but we finally got one (mostly). I mean it ended terribly but I just stop watching before that.

4. 2x01 - Rebirth

This is just Elijah's best episode hands down. And yes I am making this list about Elijah. It's kind of what I do here.

But seriously, he looked so good in this episode and was just so perfect.

I had no idea what to expect out of this episode since season 1 ended with so much up in the air and this episode delivered. So much happened. Elijah being the mastermind while Klaus and Hayley grieved losing Hope. Then them all working together as a team for the first time. And I'd be remis if I don't talk about Elijah's infamous scene of walking into the Guerreras house like he owned it. Also love them trusting Cami to help. Marcel is also in on it. I just love them all working together.

Getting to see Rebekah raising Hope. Marcel and Cami just being hot. But also Cami going to check on Klaus, that scene, the tension. So good. Cami and Elijah talking and then Elijah and Klaus talking about Cami. Perfection. Davina putting Oliver in his place. And then Hayley later doing the same. The introduction of Gia. Even the tension between Elijah and Hayley is so good. I could truly feel all of their grief and desperation. I also love Klaus and Hayley actually talking and Klaus realizing that his scheming is what cost them everything (although he will quickly forget this lesson).

It's another perfect episode. No notes.

3. 4x03 - Haunter of Ruins

I'm honestly surprised an episode from season 4 or 5 is even on this list, but I do love this episode before everything goes to hell.

This episode was another comfort episode.

I clearly loved the amount of haylijah we get. We get our first "I love you" from both of them. Although I headcanon they said it before this. We get them just being super cute and flirty and then super hot. Hayley wearing Elijah's shirt when she runs to check on Hope is so perfect to me. I love the scene of them on the porch. They love each other so much and this episode does a great job expressing it.

We finally get the Mikaelsons all together, even Kol (sorry Finn). I love seeing them behave as siblings in the beginning, bickering. I love how they handled introducing Hope to them and how hesitant they all are, which is so out of character for them, but they have no idea how to interact with a child. Klaus and Hope was so sweet. And Rebekah finally standing up for what she wants and encouraging her brothers to do the same.

My only complaint is Freya and Keelin. I love them because this show is deprived of sapphic representation. But why did they have to make the only sapphic couple's origins be essentially stockholm syndrome. I loved Hayley standing up for Keelin but then Freya just immediately goes after her again. Only thing I would change is how Freya behaved in this episode.

2. 3x22 - The Bloody Crown

May be unpopular, but I loved seeing the Mikaelsons get put in their place. And then I loved Vincent standing on his morals and turning around and put Marcel in his place. Everyone needs accountability.

Marcel awakening as an upgraded Original was so good. We got the return of Rebekah in this episode and she was fantastic. I loved Klaus' trial and I loved Rebekah getting to stand with the enemies (even if it was just the curse/part of the plan). People love to say Klaus didn't deserve it because Marcel was really mad at Elijah, but all of these people were here specifically because of Klaus. They all needed some humbling. Except Rebekah.

I can't talk about this episode without talking about haylijah. The show opens on one of their cutest scenes (we aren't going to talk about the problematic stuff that happened in the episode before). Elijah watching Hayley sleep was adorable. And then we get the scene of Elijah telling Hayley to not grieve him. They break my heart.

2x09 - Map of the Moments

Not surprising, but another Christmas episode.

And no, it's not just because of hayllijah.

I mean, it's not not because of haylijah.

In case you can't tell, my favorite episodes tend to be the comfort episodes. I love the drama, but the reasons I adore these shows are because of bonds. We get to see the Mikaelsons reunite with Hope and actually have some moments of peace together.

There are so many scenes that made me actually laugh out loud. I just adore this episode so much. And yes, I love it because we finally get haylijah getting together, if only briefly.

A/N: I had fun with the Twilight version of this and was in a tvd mood. Half of these I have no idea where these were going but we're here now so...

Damon

Didn't think that mates existed but then again, here you are, surprising him in more ways than one and he's seen a lot of things. You tried talking to him about it at first after learning about your connection, but that didn't work. What else was he supposed to do other than run away and pretend like he was never informed of your connection, stay? No, no, no because, that is not the Damon way... at least, not until you threaten to use all his bourbon as a flame retardant to burn down their house. He slowly becomes a little more lenient in building a stronger bond. When you two get closer and become a couple, he never looks back because, you are his everything which means he will do whatever he can or needs to do in order to protect you because too much happens in this damned town

Stefan

He knew deep down that even though he loved Elena, it wasn't always going to last with the way it was between her and his brother. Even with their destiny tied them together; they never lasted. And to think his life was dramatic and chaotic then but now, you come into his life, almost as if out of nowhere was even crazier. Finding out that his epic love actually came from a place of fate, someone who could complete him and make him feel whole...was interesting, to say the least. He didn't know what to expect but he knew right away there was something special about you and always wanted to know more about you (before the whole mates' thing came about). After getting together, he realized he's more honored to be your mate and knows it's better than anything he's had before

Elena

She hoped that she'd find the one person she knew she was meant to be with because of watching how her parents were when she and Jeremy were growing up. They were her role models and wanted what they had. Finding out that she is actually meant to be with someone who wasn't Stefan was, shocking, really but it was also a good thing because this meant she could have a romantic life with you. She's always felt something for you which confused her more than anything but then Damon informed her about the whole mates' thing and concerned everyone when they had just found out about the sire bond. The only reason the older Salvatore told her was when he caught her staring at you for the millionth time, forcing her to understand more about you

Bonnie

She barely started understanding the supernatural world and finding out that mates existed was crazy as hell. Honestly, it was the last thing she needed to hear. But then you started putting in an effort, putting her first (compared to what her friends do), she realized that maybe it wouldn't be so bad to have a mate. She was careful, guarded almost, at the beginning but your patience won in the end, and she knew you're the one for her. Everyone else (especially Caroline) was so happy that their friend found someone as awesome as you were; not to mention the fact that the blonde vampire is planning your guy's wedding already and is most definitely, going to fight whoever plans on being Bonnie's bridesmaid

Caroline

She never knew mates existed, always thought it was a fictional thing even with the whole supernatural world going on around her because no one really talked about it. She was the kind of girl who talked about having an epic love, but never realized she was talking about mates. Meeting you and then Bonnie telling her about the real reason behind your connection (and calming her mind, shutting down the thoughts of her being sired to you), she was excited. She finally had someone to spoil and someone who could take care of her. She offered to take you out, wanting to explain... everything since you know nothing and are being dragged into her hectic life. She will do everything she can to protect you

Tyler

The only reason he had an ounce of knowledge about mates was because of his wolf, had he not turned, he probably would have never found out and would have been whoring himself out to anyone he could (even more). But then you stepped foot into town, and it drove his wolf absolutely insane, to the point where he was starting fights with anyone. His wolf tried telling him, but it was hard for the boy to understand when he barely understood the supernatural world as it is. Then you found your way into his life and changed him, in more ways than one. He was lucky he didn't need to explain to much about the supernatural to you, but he still wasn't happy to know you were aware of, well, everything. It scared him, he doesn't want to lose you

Jeremy

When he became a vampire hunter, he didn't think he was going to be more than that and then when he died and came back, he wasn't all that pressed to talk to people and make friends. Then, you came, and things changed. He was working a shift at the grill when you walked in, and he was thought you were just- wow. Luckily you were seated in his section, giving him more opportunities to talk and try learning more about you. You caught the hints he was throwing and decided to throw him a bone, his number was immediately put in after picking up the bill. And, dammit if he hadn't texted you after his shift. He put in a genuine effort and found out you two were mates (who would have thought), certainly not you two

Alaric

He's been around for a while, knew a few things to help him get by and read a little bit about these things when he got into the supernatural world. So, he wasn't too alarmed when he found out he was mated to you but imagine his surprise when he finds out you also know about the supernatural and... actually know how to defend yourself, if needed. That man is floored, he thought he was going to need to show you a thing or two. What else would you expect from the guy who taught and helped all the kids learn about these things. (Don't even get him started on the time when Klaus had his body and knew before he did. He will go bonkers). He's not the happiest about others knowing about your bond but no one can keep their mouths shut anymore

Julie plec really created a narrative kai was worse then all the dudes because she didn't like he was set up romantically interested in bonnie and wanted a excuse to get rid of Elena plec and co wasn't that involved in the beginning stages of kai character and s6 of tvd that's why it was written so differently

Bonkai is not that different from ships like D.elena and Kl.aroline yet Bonnie stans have to hear “you must HATE Bonnie to ship her with that man”, but y’all don’t hate Elena when you ship her with the man that killed her brother because she didn’t reciprocate his feelings for her? Y’all don’t hate Caroline when you ship her with the man that stabbed her with a lamp because she didn’t want to leave her boyfriend for him?

The only difference between Bonkai and DE/KC is that Bonnie had a negative reaction to Kai’s treatment of her. You’d think that would be a good thing give how dehumanizing TVDs treatment of Bonnie was but it really was just another way to excuse them from giving Bonnie the same things the other girls got romance wise. Caroline and Elena got their toxic sexy dark romances with the villain of the season who spewed declarations of epic love and showered them in gifts but Bonnie doesn’t even get to have a reaction to Kai heavily flirting before the stabbing incident. Caroline and Elena get to live in their delusional fantasies about making their evil boyfriends better people while Bonnie has to stand on business and take Kai down.

Now do I think that Caroline and Elena should’ve been able to whack Klaus and Damon for the torment they endured by those men? Absolutely! All three of those girls were getting used and abused by the men in the show yet Bonnie was the only one that doesn’t get to take part in the more “fun” and “sexy” parts of the whole dark romance thing.

I didn’t know that Plec didn’t create Kai though! Bonkai had much more of a foundation than Bon.enzo

The downfall to kai was he was more popular than damon if he was a matt or Enzo type they would have kept him around redeemed him and let him date bonnie

it sucks because i do like both damon and enzo, but so much of s7/8 became hypocritical around how we're made to feel about them compared to how they expected/wanted us to feel about kai and it's just silly.

damon backslides so horrifically that it's exhausting watching them jump through hoops to pretend he's redeemable and epic, instead of just ... actually allowing him to be redeemable and epic. he was 👉🏼👈🏼 so close !! to just !! being decent !! and that wasn't enough he had to go back to being terrible and selfish, cause where is the fun in watching a character grow and mature i guess ?? if he actually evolved and stayed even just slightly more consistent i don't think he'd lose so many of us. but i can only take so many scenes of watching him go through the exact same arc again and again only to never truly change.

enzo is my #3 TVD man (because i, like bonnie, have a type lmao) but i'll be the first to point out that he was !! eating people !! while being a part of the mfg. like did bonnie just ?? not know about that ?? is it fine because the people are strangers and he's a vampire ?? y'all remember when he just killed fake sarah to one up stefan ?? yes, he grows and starts acting like he's got some sense but it's only really after he falls for bonnie. she never addresses his behavioral changes enough, because if she did, they'd have to admit how hypocritical it sounds. it sucks, because objectively i like them together and i think especially the cabin arc is precious.

but like ... if we'd isolated bonnie and kai in say, a prison world, for more than a cross country trip to portland i think we all know what would have happened. which would mean no red wedding, no caroline incubator gate, enzo isn't dead, the heretics get a chance at being coven members, tyler doesn't have to turn by offing liv and they can be happy, stefan probably also isn't dead because if we had two witches someone could deal with the hellfire in the armory and someone could freeze katherine in place with magic, like !!!! so much could have been different if those two just figured it out lol

bonnie and the witches in general get snubbed a lot, and i know it's the vampire diaries, but don't give me these stupidly interesting people and then be upset when i love them.

i've never recovered from accepting enzo's death to suddenly having kai back within the span of an episode. i was like oooh alright, so you really are just laughing at us this is a game to you isnt it plec lmao
