Part 2!
Credits and shoutout to @starcatcherkiszka for the idea!
In case you want something to listen to while you read: ✨Summer of 69 Playlist✨
Words: 3.3k
Warnings: drug use, language
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8
“That can’t be possible,” Danny finally let the panic set in. “There’s no way that’s physically possible. You can’t just travel back in time, that’s a load of bull that you see in a Twilight Zone episode, not real life.”
“Danny, breathe,” Jake told him, putting a supportive hand on his shoulder. Danny’s eyes darted around but finally landed on Jake, who was breathing in and out deeply, raising and lowering his hand with the motion of his lungs. Danny attempted to suck in a few breaths but sounded like he was breathing into a kazoo.
“We don’t know for sure that we’re in 1969,” Sam tried to be the voice of reason.
“How do you explain traveling through some mysterious cloud then?” Josh raised an eyebrow. “My gut is telling me we just became the first people to ever time travel.”
“We need to go back,” Danny’s eyes were wide again, scanning around to try and find the bright beam of light so he could jump back into it and return home. “The butterfly effect, you guys, we could screw up the course of time.”
“We just lay low, it shouldn’t be a problem,” Josh waved Danny off. He knew a thing or two about time travel and, deep down, he agreed with Danny that they needed to make sure they had little to no impact on things, but also it wasn’t every day you got to travel back in time. He wanted to enjoy himself, especially if they had the opportunity to go to Woodstock.
“If we really are in 1969,” Sam started, still sounding skeptical, “it’ll be a little hard to lay low when we’re dressed like this.”
Everyone looked down at their clothes and had to agree with Sam. For starters, Danny was wearing a University of Michigan shirt that said “GO BLUE 2022.” Sam’s Adidas shoes, red turtleneck, and black dress pants held up with a shoelace combo was sure to turn some heads. Jake had on his musty jeans, scuffed up vans, and a black long sleeve top that only had the bottom buttons secured. Out of all of them Josh looked the most like he could fit in, wearing his white long sleeve shirt, khakis, and a beaded chain. Still, they were going to look otherworldly to all the hippies who would be in the area.
“So we find some clothes,” Josh shrugged, like that was something they could easily pull off despite the fact that they were standing in an empty field with no sign of life in sight and no money to their name.
“Why find clothes when we can find a way out of here?” Danny asked. “I don’t like any of this at all.”
Jake looked beyond Danny to Josh and motioned to him that they start walking. Josh nodded and turned on his heel, heading back towards the hill that he and Sam had run down. Danny watched Josh go with a look of worry and Jake gently placed his hand on Danny’s back, giving a slight push to get his momentum going.
“Everything is going to be alright,” he assured Danny. “Nothing bad is gonna happen.”
“Now that you said that, it definitely will.”
“I’ll talk to him,” Sam stepped up to Jake’s side to whisper. “Go ahead with Josh and try to get a clearer idea of what we’re dealing with.”
Jake was more than happy to join his twin who was being a lot less of a buzzkill about everything. While he moved towards Josh, he tried to remember when Cream had officially broken up. He hoped and prayed that they were still together so he could see them live. It would be the only thing he talked about for the rest of his life.
“Do you believe this is real?” Josh turned around to ask Jake when he approached him. They were halfway up the hill and, squinting, Jake thought he could see a country road off in the distance.
“I have no clue,” he admitted. “I’m just along for the ride.”
“That’s a solid mindset,” Josh nodded. “I know we should be freaking out like Danny is right now but, man, I don’t know, it’s hard to explain what happened, but I feel like it was meant to happen or something. I mean, Woodstock? C’mon, that’s right up our alley.”
“It does feel a little bit too perfect,” Jake admitted. He turned back around for a brief second and saw Sam and Danny about forty paces behind them, caught in what looked to be a really engaging conversation. Jake was relieved to see that Danny looked slightly more at ease talking to Sam, though his shoulders were still raised higher than normal.
“Hey,” Josh’s voice regained Jake’s attention, “I see a car down there.”
Jake looked out towards the road and saw that Josh was pointing at a sky blue Chevy truck. It was tearing down the road in their direction, kicking up an impressive amount of dirt behind it so it looked like a horizontal rocketship.
“I’m gonna try to stop it,” Josh decided. “Maybe we can get a ride into town.”
Jake really didn’t have any better ideas, so he opted to wait as Josh booked it down the hill, pumping his arms like an Olympic sprinter. Sam and Danny hurried to catch up to Jake and watched Josh disappear off into the distance with concern.
“We shouldn’t be interacting with anyone,” Danny murmured. “We say one thing about the future and it’s over, the domino effect will kick in and then we won’t exist anymore.”
“You’re a lot of fun to be around right now,” Jake replied.
“I mean, my existence is something I personally care about,” Sam agreed with Danny. Jake looked at his younger brother and shook his head in disappointment.
“When I told you to talk to Danny, I didn’t mean for you to take his side,” he leaned into Sam. Sam pushed him away and shook his head.
“Appeasement, man, it’s the only way to calm him down.”
“I’m literally right here,” Danny frowned. “You have a playbook to calm me down?”
“It’s just to steer you in the right direction,” Sam tried to backtrack on his words.
“Unbelievable,” Danny huffed.
“YOOOOHOOOOO!” Josh’s voice thundered up the hill from the road. They watched him jump up and down next to the stopped truck, waving his arms around like he was a castaway trying to get the attention of a passing plane. “GUYS!”
Jake started down the hill but stopped and turned around to face Danny and Sam.
“You coming?” he asked them.
“I don’t have anywhere else to go, I guess,” Danny grumbled. Sam shrugged.
That was enough for Jake, so he made his way down to Josh, who was leaning on the passenger window, chatting with the driver.
“That’s groovy, man,” Josh was telling the driver, who looked to be around their age and was dressed in only a pair of dirtied overalls. Jake joined his side and Josh jutted a thumb in his direction. “Oh, this is my brother, Jake.”
“Hey man,” the driver raised a hand up to Jake. “Interesting pants you got there.”
“Thanks?” Jake replied.
“Chuck was telling me that we’re about fifteen miles north of the festival,” Josh caught Jake up to speed. “Only a few people have played so far, and apparently they gave up checking tickets so we can waltz in for free. Can you dig it?”
“Good to see it didn’t take you long to pick up the vernacular,” Jake muttered to Josh.
“I heard Bert Sommer was going to play next,” Chuck shared. “And then Ravi Shankar later tonight.”
“Ravi Shankar?” Josh choked out in a joyous shock. He turned to Jake. “We have to go. Chuck offered to give us a lift to the front entrance.”
“You sure that’s alright?” Jake asked, slightly popping his head in the passenger window. Chuck beamed back at him and gave his head a curt nod.
“I’m headed that way anyways. I’ve been carrying all kinds of interesting people there, it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It’s all so beautiful.”
“Far out,” Josh fervently nodded, as if Chuck was giving a sermon.
“Are your pals coming along too?” Chuck motioned to Sam and Danny, who were taking their sweet time coming to the car from the fields. Jake couldn’t help but roll his eyes at how difficult his younger “pals” were making things. They should have been over the moon about everything like he and Josh were. He couldn’t fathom where all of the doubt and anxiety was coming from with them. They needed to just hang loose and accept things as they came.
“Oy!” Jake barked back at Sam and Danny, making them snap their heads up to stare. “Come here!”
They didn’t look thrilled, but they jogged to the car and stopped a few feet behind Jake and Josh. Sam nudged Danny in the side and nodded at his shirt, which Danny grunted at in return. He awkwardly swung his arms around and made an effort to cross them over his chest, hiding the “2022.”
“We’re going to Woodstock,” Josh opened up his arms to Danny and Sam, beaming wide. Chuck nodded for the bed of his truck and Danny stared at it with concern.
“You saw how fast he was driving,” Danny whispered to Sam. Sam patted him on the back.
“Fuck it, we ball.”
“No,” Danny whispered, watching with fear etched across his face as Sam bound for the truck and hoisted himself into the bed. Josh and Jake were quick to follow, and they all motioned for Danny to join them.
“You can sit in the front with me, if you want,” Chuck called to Danny. This made Danny’s shoulders shoot back up into his ears. The last thing he wanted was to have a conversation with someone from the past where he was bound to let the wrong thing slip. He was determined to interact with no one outside of his annoying band members.
“No thanks,” he squeaked out and then, in a blind panic, he rushed to join everyone in the back.
“Nice to have you, Danny,” Jake flashed a grin at him. Danny continued to cross his arms over his chest and studied the bed of the truck, which was covered in hay and used blunts. Josh picked up one of the blunts and gave it a testing sniff.
“Nice,” he chuckled.
“You might want to just take that off,” Sam picked at Danny’s shirt once Chuck started the car and took off down the road again. Danny studied the shirt while they bumped around and seemed to think deeply about it.
“Fine,” he finally sighed. He tore it off, to the cheers of Sam, Jake, Josh, and even Chuck from the driver’s seat, and shoved it into his pants pocket. “I’ll have to find a place to burn it so people don’t see the date,” he explained to his friends. With his bare chest, Danny suddenly looked like he belonged the most in the time period. Jake started to contemplate taking off his own shirt to fit in when Josh pointed over his head.
“Look at that!”
Jake followed where Josh was pointing and noted that there was a tent on the side of the road where a very stoned man and woman were sitting cross-legged in front of a collection of tie dye, vests, and pants that looked to be made out of potato sacks. Sam scanned over the options and shook his head in disapproval.
“Yuck,” he muttered.
Jake shook his head with a chuckle. “You like vintage stuff though, Sammy boy."
“I like vintage stuff that doesn’t smell like chicken shit,” Sam corrected his brother.
“It does not smell like chicken shit,” Jake started to protest before taking a whiff and letting out a gag. “Oh god,” he heaved, “how can I smell that from here?”
Chuck turned right to take them onto a pavement road and, in a matter of seconds, they squealed to a stop in bumper to bumper traffic. All of them looked around in awe at the psychedelic Volkswagen caravans filled to the brim with young people, beat up cars that had been abandoned on the side of the road, and the fleet of people who were all marching up the road towards the venue entrance.
“It wasn’t this crowded before,” Chuck mused through the back window. “Word must have gotten around about what was going on.”
“We can walk the rest of the way,” Josh suggested, “I don’t want you sitting in this.”
“Right on,” Chuck agreed.
After giving Chuck a warm thanks, they all piled out of the truck.
“How much farther to the entrance?” Josh approached the driver’s window one last time. Chuck scrunched his face, deep in thought, and studied the road ahead.
“No more than five miles, I’d say.”
“Piece of cake,” Josh nodded. “Ready for our pilgrimage?” he asked his friends. Danny still looked uncertain, but Jake was already joining the crowd while pumping his fists in the air.
“Woodstock! Woodstock! Woodstock!” he chanted, though no one else joined in.
“I’m gonna get a bad sunburn, I’m calling it now,” Danny grumbled as he trudged behind Jake.
“Hey man, primo shoes,” a teenager joined Sam’s side out of seemingly nowhere and placed a grimy hand on his shoulder. Sam looked on the brink of slapping the guy away as a reflex, but instead squeezed his hands into fists.
“Thanks,” he finally decided to reply.
“Wanna trade?” the kid asked. Sam’s eyes tracked to the kid’s bare feet and then up to his face so he could give him an incredulous look.
“Trade what?” he countered.
“I’ll give you some smokes,” the kid tried.
“You should do it,” Josh told Sam. “I remember Pops saying that smokes in the 60s were a lot better. Something about the flavor, I don’t know.”
“He’ll trade his shoes with you,” Sam pointed in Josh’s direction. Josh’s face immediately dropped and he started nervously stammering an excuse to back out of the deal.
“I don’t think those will fit me,” the teenager looked down at Josh’s shoes in disappointment. Josh took a look for himself at his size seven tennis shoes and testingly tapped his feet. “You’ve got elf feet, man.”
And with that, he left to try and strike a deal with someone else.
“I love these people,” Josh chuckled to himself.
“They’re all inebriated beyond belief,” Sam pointed out.
“My people!” Josh exclaimed.
Up ahead Danny fell in line with Jake and they walked in silence for a few blocks, gazing around at the interesting characters packed in with them. Finally something snapped in Danny and he spoke up.
“You’re an intelligent guy, Jake.”
“Hm?” Jake wasn’t sure where Danny was going.
“Why isn’t any of this concerning you at all? I mean, this isn’t natural at all, it isn’t right.”
“Danny,” Jake tried to make his voice steady and certain. “We’ve been working our asses off in the studio for weeks now. I can’t explain anything that’s happened so far, but it feels like the universe just gave us the best present known to mankind, so I’m rolling with it. I mean, think about it: we’re walking towards Woodstock dude. Fucking Woodstock. The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, Sly and the Family Stone, Santana, all of them. We get to see that shit live. How could you turn that down?”
“I’ve seen it on DVD,” Danny lowered his voice so no one but Jake could hear him. “I grew up watching those performances. I don’t need to live through it.” Danny let out a huff since, based on Jake’s body language, it seemed like he wasn’t getting through to him. “Look,” he raised his voice slightly to make his point, “I just know something bad is gonna happen.”
“Nah man, that’s just the bad trip talking,” a woman joined their side. Danny immediately shut his mouth tight and gave Jake a look, signaling for him not to engage in conversation. “You should take this instead,” the woman continued, tucking a plastic bag of something in Danny’s hand and giving it a pat. “All those bad feelings are gonna go away, sweetie.” And with that, she floated away.
“You should take that,” Jake pointed to the bag Danny was now staring at in horror.
“I’m not taking this,” Danny started to drop the packet, but Jake lurched to catch it.
“If you’re not, I sure as hell will.”
“Are you nuts?” poor Danny felt on the brink of insanity. With every passing moment it was starting to feel more and more like the Kiszka brothers were the worst thing that had ever happened to him.
“Huh, that looks like Timothy O’Leary,” Jake commented as he studied the blotter the woman had handed Danny. Without another word he fixed a tab and popped it under his tongue. “Woodstock!” he shouted again.
Danny’s head was racing. Jake was the biggest idiot known to mankind to take some kind of hallucinogenic drug that a random lady had handed him. But he also had a point that what they were caught in was nothing short of extraordinary. Danny would be lying if he said he hadn’t fantasized about seeing some of his favorite artists play live, or surrounding himself in the peace and love culture that they were constantly trying to replicate in their own music. Danny could feel his stomach churning with excitement at the thought that he and his closest friends were somehow at the biggest musical festival of all time. It did feel silly for him to be so wound up: he needed to go with the flow. Hell, he deserved to go with the flow.
“Gimme that,” he said, snatching the packet back from Jake.
“Whoo!” Jake called out in a mixture of shock and joy while Danny popped his own tab in his mouth and let it dissolve under the tongue.
“How long does it take to kick in?” he asked Jake’s three heads. He did a double take and then rubbed at his eyes as he felt a sensation unlike anything he had ever felt before. It was like he was levitating above the burning pavement, soaring towards the beautiful peace, love, and unity of the 60s counterculture movement.
“I didn’t know the sky was purple,” Jake remarked from behind him.
Josh and Sam approached the two and Josh put a hand on Jake’s shoulder which made him jump and scream.
“Jesus, what’s wrong with you?” Josh asked, an eyebrow arched. Jake looked back at the talking ferret that was swirling around like a kaleidoscope and gaped in awe.
“Woah,” he whispered.
“Danny, what’s up with Jake?” Josh tried. It took one look at Danny taking wide strides ahead with his eyes closed and arms wide open, grinning from ear to ear for Josh and Sam to put the pieces together.
“We leave them for five minutes,” Sam pinched at the bridge of his nose.
“Where’d they get it from?” Josh demanded. It was on his bucket list to do drugs at Woodstock.
“I’m not babysitting all of you,” Sam told Josh.
“I’ll have you know I’m very responsible when under the influence.”
“You drove a tractor into the river last Christmas because you thought you had found the Lady of the Lake, Josh.”
“She was real, and she was beckoning me!”
“You’re not doing anything stupid until after they come down from their high,” Sam gave Josh a cold stare. Josh looked like he was going to put up more of a fight but, after seeing Danny chase after a butterfly and nearly run into a parked car, he hung his head.
“Yeah, all right,” he gave in.
“Shake on it,” Sam extended a hand.
“What a straight,” someone commented as they passed by them. Josh couldn’t help but chuckle at that, but he quickly grabbed Sam’s hand when he looked back up at his scowling face.
“We’ll get our turn,” Sam promised Josh. That made him perk up.

so,, hanseo and miri am i right. the ending never happened so take this headcanon-y / illiterate fic of thoughts as crumbs !!
okay, so, i was thinking, the reason why miri and hanseo don't get together straight away when they both realise their feelings is bc miri says no. don't get me wrong, hanseo has a lot of loyalty and love to give, and he's ready to give it to her. but she disagrees, bc she pushes him to talk through his traumas and realise where he sits in all of it. she wants him to understand himself first bc he's never had the chance to put himself first. she doesn't believe that it would be healthy with his current mental state to jump into another connection so quickly. instead, they take the time, they sit and study so that he can get better at being the chairman, she strokes his hair and protects him from his night terrors whenever he accidentally falls asleep at her place, and he talks to a third party to pinpoint who exactly he is amongst all the messes he's been forced through. she reminds him that there's a little jang hanseo sitting inside of him, in a little locked room that he's kept to himself because he doesn't want to see his true self get abused when his brother has taken everything else from him. he wanted to keep that side of him to himself, at least there was something that he could protect. honestly, going through therapy, he allows himself to realise that the idea of unlocking that room absolutely terrifies him. bc what if he retreats back into that dark place again? what if he allows himself to care for miri but he can't protect them like he couldn't protect his parents, or anyone else around him? and it takes a lot of effort to even get there.
but miri takes him aside, brushes her hand against his and tells him that she loves him for the first time. mind you, this is about a year after the events of the show, but they've been growing side by side this whole time, and when miri loves, she falls deeply. she realises now that she was so absorbed in the thrill of liking someone like vinny, after all, everyone seemed to be romantically interested in that man. but she understands that there wasn't really any truth to it. she's found it hard in the past to feel attachments or really any sort of attraction to people, living a very secular life. so that's why, when she sees these very visceral reactions to the man's looks, she honestly couldn't help but internally look at him the same way. it's like the awe that one may feel when they view a great piece of art, or an amazing scene in a film. there's always a disconnect between the viewer and the subject at hand. but it was a different matter when it came to her puppy.
she'd remembered the first time that she saw him, ducking behind pillars, looking like he was trying to be some goofy spy in that smart suit of his. he'd raise a hand to swipe away a few strands that would fall across his forehead and she couldn't help but wish that she knew what it was like to run her fingers through his hair. the attraction was like a lightning bolt that shot straight through her spine - and that was terrifying to her. so the initial times, she finds that she doesn't purposefully try to interact with the man. happy to stand and observe. miri has gotten so used to being the observer. never the participator.
that changed when he got himself sent to the hospital after being shot. the residents whispered behind palms about how the young man had saved their infamous lawyer pair, but she couldn't help but curse the italian. she knows of his prowess, she knows that he has ten times the fighting ability compared to hanseo. she would stomp back to her studio, something wild spreading across her mannerisms - utterly confusing any other resident around.
in all honesty, she's never been one for hospitals. but she makes hanseo food everyday. she doesn't trust whatever they give patients in hospitals anyway, and she knows that she has a few cooking tricks up her sleeve. they never really see each other, and she has always asked another resident to take the food to him. (a different one every time. she doesn't really know how she'd respond if anyone ever questioned her actions, especially when she's not completely sure why she's doing what she's doing either ... ) it takes a couple of days, but she slowly moves to his rhythm. taking notice of the foods that he likes, the ones that he didn't. now stopping outside of his hospital room to peer through the little window, elated at the look of sheer happiness that spreads across his puppy-dog features every time he sees a visitor with an entourage of containers for him. (maybe this is where his pet. name came from). even as things become a bit more normal, and he finds himself over in the plaza more often, the two would continue to peak glances at each other. her, wanting to see him smile like that again. him, mildly hurt that the only girl who had been playing on his mind for months had not gone to see him in the hospital. it's only after he finally asks her, and she abruptly poses whether he would like to study with her every night, does one of the other residents let miri's daily cooking habits slip.
she notices the distinct shift in his behaviour towards her, but he won't ever discuss the new nugget of knowledge till years later, and she'll get flushed and embarrassed at the fact that he's known all this time.
anyways, it takes a year and a half of talking twice a week to crack down on the deepest fears that hanseo has held onto for so long. all the residents know when it's happened bc they see the visible change. he's similar to how he's always been, but it seems like there's something lighter about him. like there's something that has been finally put to rest; the man looks like he has found a little bit of the peace that he deserves, at very last. when he visits the plaza, he's gotten rid of the stiff suits in dark colours. this rigid business attire had been his method of camouflaging into a wall of corporate faces - maybe his brother would aim a sharp object at the wrong person, one of those that he had cloned himself into looking like around him. it worked on some occasions. but this experience had taught him that these clothing decisions had become survival for him, and that was surely not a sustainable way to continue living. so most residents would stop to flick their eyes over the young man as he passes. his simple caramel turtleneck and blazer combo seeming too settled in the middle of the two extremes that the male usually fell in between.
rumour has it, the man literally dipped the apple to his eye, the woman who had waited for him to get healthy for a year and a half, the only sun he sees, nearly off of her feet when he steals their first kiss. they'd waited this long for it to occur, they may as well make it magical.
( are these crumbs okay?? hes not dead!! nope, that was false!! that never happened!!)

ranking daniel miller outfits because apparently I have nothing better to do right now
an extremely long one y’all, so it’s under the cut
started at the bottom, now we’re.... still here at the bottom of the list
the running outfit. y’know. that one
look, I know it’s the middle of winter in Berlin and Daniel’s doing his best, but there is something about this that is just not that great. still looks 100x better than my running outfit but I think it’s the beanie that really gives this last place. or is it the double beanie? either way, not an outfit I would wear to try and romance my girl in (even if you are exercising with them). the only real redeeming feature of the outfit is the black turtleneck all zipped up
1.8/10
the sneaky sneaky boy outfit
the perfect outfit for the job because it’s completely unremarkable. the ‘hood over cap’ combo makes me expect to see a 20 year old hacker skulking about under there, but wait - surprise... it’s a handsome middle-aged man?
RA can rock a cap or hood but the double-combo just doesn’t do it for me. I guess I can be happy the third hood isn’t up as well to form a trifecta?
Daniel may need to be sneaky to do his job but I would argue that if I saw a man with a hood over his cap in broad daylight chilling in a cemetery I would have more questions than if I just saw a regularly dressed man chilling in a cemetery in broad daylight
3/10
almost every s1 suit
look, RA looks fantastic in a suit and no one is disputing that. I’m just saying that this is about as bland a suit and tie combo as it gets and from my recall of season one we see this almost every single time he’s in the station.
this one is even a bland grey. grey has it’s place but in the office it can turn into a bit of a snooze. mix up your office-wear & make it fun Daniel. wear a cool-coloured tie. put some funny socks on.
4/10
the casual summer businessman
something bothers me about this. is it the combo of the untucked shirt and the khaki pants? on their own either is fine
or is it just that this is one of the first times we see Daniel and the look has almost no personality to it? who knows
4.1/10 (for the unbuttoned collar and rolled-up sleeves)
the casual summer businessman goes to a bbq
almost the exact same outfit as the casual summer businessman, but the shirt’s a different colour which somehow makes it a lot better
this man wouldn’t look out of place at a bbq, which is a great choice from the styling team considering Daniel actually wears this to the team bbq in the show
4.5/10 solely for just being a bit plain and boring
I’ve finished filing those papers you wanted
no tie and one undone button? Daniel, you tease!
4.6/10
sneaky sneaky boy part 2
this is what I’m talking about. I still find people wearing caps indoors incredibly suspicious for someone trying to blend in (possibly because I was raised to believe that hats were an outdoors only look) but Daniel looks like a grown man and no longer looks like he should be a 20 year old hacker. success!
4.6/10 for an ultra-casual Daniel
I’m just here to file some papers and get paid
see? same suit every time. at least this one’s a nice black which is an upgrade from the grey and really suits RA
4.7/10
every day is a work day if you try hard enough - the winter edition
a non-matchy-matchy blue tie! a winter coat! a turned up collar! it may not be exciting but at least now we’re cooking
in all fairness though, our coat is quite dull and anonymous and the only real notable thing about it is the choice to keep the collar upturned. nothing to write home about if it wasn’t for the RA attached to it
4.7/10
every day is a work day if you try hard enough - the winter edition pt. 2
the hooded coat makes for a nice relaxation of the business suit. other than that, not much to say.
4.73/10
once more unto the (lapel) breach
we find ourselves having to ask: is Daniel Miller really Daniel Miller if his coat lapel isn’t popped?
this the FBI man who turns up at your house to either arrest you or escort you to safety. oh, sorry, CIA I guess given the context of the show
looks great because of RA being the one wearing it but a fairly mundane look
4.8/10
up, up, and away
bicycle Daniel was a nice look which I wasn’t expecting out of this show. mainly because I have never ever in my life seen a man in a suit on a bike.
in NZ they all use cars and at the very least bike in casual clothes then get changed at work. is biking in suits a European thing?
there’s absolutely nothing special or spectacular about the clothes, but put Daniel on a bike and it works really well?
maybe it’s the cape effect or leather gloves. or even just the notion of seeing a fully-dressed business man in a suit whiz by you on a bicycle.
whatever it is, it’s appreciated
4.8/10
the party boy
in s1 Daniel has only one look if he’s going out on the town - he ditches the tie & opens two buttons (or three if he’s feeling saucy)
I’ll never complain about this this look because let’s be honest, who would, but we also need to face reality that, like his suits, it’s also a bit repetitive and lacks a bit of something after seeing it for the 5th episode in row
4.9 /10
it might be time for you to go to bed
the party boy has finally lost his ‘I’m too cool for you’ vibe and partied his jacket and several shirt buttons off (quite literally). bonus points for the completely rumpled shirt and hair
the only thing that is eye-catching in this outfit is the skin it reveals
4/10
puzzle time *finger guns* (to anyone who didn’t grow up in New Zealand quoting this ad I apologise)
now this is a Daniel I would sit down and do a puzzle with. which is probably a good thing as he is quite literally solving a puzzle in this scene
5/10 for evoking the correct feeling from the audience but otherwise there is nothing special here
is mission impossible hiring?
the gloves? the backpack? the jacket and zipped sweater? you see this man and know your mainframe is about to be hacked
not the worst. but not the best. love the zipped sweater, could lose the gloves.
5.5/10
let’s get cozy
now this is a dapper fellow. the thin black scarf? brilliant with the signature coat collar
a Daniel who would probably lend you his coat or scarf if you complained about the cold
5.6/10
someone who would feed the ducks at the park
this is how to put in RA in a baseball cap. the subtle tartan of his scarf, which is tied in a knot? the perfect winter spy outfit
this is a Daniel you want to go on walks in a park with.
5.8/10
uncle Daniel goes on a trip to the mall
the more I look at that jacket the more I appreciate it. It’s a stunning blue which makes a nice contrast to the usual dull grey of his sweater and is a colour that looks great on RA. It even has some quilting for added interest
5.96/10
he’s the ‘fun uncle’
the warm sweater and scarf? this is the uncle who takes you out to do fun things while you’re supposed to be grounded and tells you not to tell your mom
nothing amazing in this outfit but also nothing to complain about considering it’s in s1. a funner, casual side to Daniel we don’t often see (am I bitter about never seeing his cousin and her son after s1? a little)
a solid 6/10
hope is fragile and also a black sweater
the fact that we never see this sweater on its own is what lets it down here
putting that to one side, the snuggly sweater? the green bomber jacket? this is a classic s2 Daniel look. but hang on - this is from s1?
Daniel’s letting us know via this s1 outfit that it will all be good in the near future if we can just hang on until he gets his s2 wardrobe
6.1/10 for providing hope for the future
hello? it’s your future ex-boyfriend calling
this man isn’t Daniel Miller - he’s a career model who can GET IT and he knows it
6.6/10
comfy sweater boy
so simple but so, so, so good
this is a Daniel I would want to cuddle up on a couch with. he’s a soft boy who wouldn’t hurt anyone and probably makes a great hot chocolate
6.7/10
comfy sweater boy goes for a walk outside
the colour of his sweater goes nicely with the coat. and once again: is he really Daniel Miller if his collar isn’t popped?
he loses 0.1 of a point for losing a bit of the soft boy look that the sweater just by itself brought to the party
6/10
comfy sweater boy ran out of hot chocolate at his so comes round to your place for takeaway
I just really enjoy the colour of this sweater, okay? the easy, layered sweater look? the takeaway chinese? this is a man after my heart and I’m also pretty sure I’ve worn this exact outfit before
6.1/10
if looks could kill
leather jacket? perfect. but what really brings this together? the black v-neck of course. RA never wears enough v-necks
‘nuf said
6.9/10
the Adam Price moment
this is one of the rarest of cases - a s2 outfit that wasn’t a 100% hit for me. everything about this outfit slaps except for the polo shirt
blue bomber jacket? hell yeah. hidden orange detailing on the inside? that’s what I’m talking about. colour combo of shirt and jacket? well done
polo shirt itself? meh. even if it was just a plain polo that would have been great. for some reason the embroidered logo and collar stripes push me over the edge
I don’t know why but whenever I see a man in a polo shirt like this, I immediately think they are heading to the golf course and are probably not the type of person I would chill with (given that I don’t play golf)
on Adam Price? sure. on Daniel Miller? nah, he knows better
7/10 (mainly for the bomber)
guess who’s back? back again. Adam’s back. tell a friend
I know this is lower ranked than most of the outfits on this entire list but is still found at the upper end of this list. That’s ‘cause it just had to come after the Adam Price moment, okay?
they took everything that was wrong with the Adam Price moment (e.g. the entire polo shirt) and then focused our attention on it
it doesn’t matter how tightly it clings to RA’s body, it’s not overriding my unjustified hatred of polo shirts
3.5/10
I’m here to make important calls while I dine in a fine restaurant
another updated suit look post-s1. I picture this Daniel eating at a nice Italian restaurant for lunch before returning to work for an important business conference
and is that a textured shirt I spy? well done
7.3/10
the shirt is even better without the jacket.
the undone buttons? c’mon
it’s just a nice shirt okay
7.5/10
comfy sweater boy’s older brother
for one thing, those low-slung sweatpants are a blessing and didn’t get enough screen time.
then on top of that the oversized shirt that drapes in just the right and most comfy way? the bare feet? I would call in sick to work if I saw Daniel wearing this outfit in my house
this is a Daniel who has lost comfy sweater boy’s innocence but who I would still wanna cook food and binge netflix with
this is absolute peak comfy Daniel
a well-deserved 7.8/10
the ‘I can’t believe I wasted so much time with the same suit and coat combo over and over in s1′ Daniel
this Daniel is the sum of everything that is wrong with s1 Daniel and everything that is right about s2 & s3 Daniel
the casual suit jacket. the rolled up sleeves. the loose casual shirt. this is a Daniel who works hard but knows how to have a good time and will 100% seduce you in a foreign city
8.5/10
come to the dark side
the same as the ‘I can’t believe I wasted so much time with the same suit and coat combo over and over in s1′ Daniel but with his classic coat and popped collar for some added mystery to the character
like the ‘I can’t believe I wasted so much time with the same suit and coat combo over and over in s1′ Daniel this man will 100% seduce you in a foreign city but also will not hesitate to use his superior strength to pin you against a wall while he makes out with you
8.59/10
I mean...
I’m not sure you can class underwear as an ‘outfit as such, but uh.... sorry, what was I saying? I got a little distracted
I refuse to put a numerical rank on this/10
don’t tell your dad about this one
I know we’ve established that underwear is not really an outfit, but these are pants so I’m gonna say this one counts.
the undone belt? the obvious shirtlessness? hanging with this man will definitely end with someone in jail (and it won’t be him). but at least it’ll be a fun ride on the way down to hell
i refuse to assign numerical value to the semi-naked ones because that’s not fair on the other outfits/10
is he here to fix a car, murder someone or sweep me off my feet? who knows and honestly who cares when he looks like that?
the khaki jacket brings in some ruggedness which tip-top Daniel below is missing while still keeping it effortlessly cool.
this is Daniel. fucking. Miller and he doesn’t care what you think
99.99/10
tip-top Daniel
this is Daniel right at his peak.
everything - the casual bomber from the Adam Price moment earlier, the plaid shirt, the undone buttons, the aviators. the HAIR.
Damn, Daniel. Damn.
100/10

Kurt Fashion: Michael
Link to masterpost
Ugh why didn’t Kurt get a solo this ep (and every ep lol)
Return of that hat I hate, gosh Kurt why. Also, when first watching all hype like ‘omg Kurt in leather jacket’ but then I realized it was a jumpsuit and... oof. Not as bad as that quilted white one? But... I’m not a fan of jumpsuits lol
Looking MUCH better here, working his patented hip swivel. The belt works to to break up the jumpsuit (tho looks like extra strap... dare a I say... a harness??). This whole look is v glam metal, Starchild would approve. I love his boots and would lowkey wear them. Work it, Kurt
Not fingerless gloves, but still looking snazzy. I like the detail along his pants, and the white boots look good with this outfit. Love the cut of the blazer, he’s just looking very classy here
I’ve seen this jacket before and I wanted it and I still do. So impractical and I love it, and i love when he wears it over his black turtleneck
Omg yes, this is what I wanted with him in leather. Look at him in all black with the gloves and the vest, such secret agent vibes, perfect for underground sing-off. Also, love a ‘sleeves pushed up to show off forearms’ like. 10/10
Kurt has his new bag that’s been popping up a bit. Still bad for his shoulders, but looks cool. I love these boots of his, looks nice with beige. A simpler outfit, he’s def been toning things down this season. Maybe more confident etc
Not many can pull off a poncho... but he does. It’s v visually interesting with the panels/textures so it doesn’t swallow him up. Seems like he’s wearing it with tighter pants and I like the black/grey/green combo
K but the sweater with the bowtie... this looks a lot like a Blaine look? Is he missing his bf??? Sweater looks comfy ofc and the pinstripe pants make things a bit busy? But not terrible. I keep finding him wearing grey and brown and it doesn’t always work? Very cool tones with the sweater, warmer/earthier tones with the pants.
Ok I really like this. I like the longer blazer with the two tones, I love his chunky boots and the pants that fit him (he’s grown so much, sweetie) and I like the scarf. Similar to his layered looks, but more polished and very chic. Perfect for being a NYADA finalist, babe
So first off I really love his fingerless gloves here, love how it matches his suspenders and the brings out the pattern on the blazer. I’m a sucker for the ‘loose suspenders’ look. Love that his jeans actually fit him and ofc I love the turtleneck. Navy and black don’t always work together? But works here bc the burgundy helps lighten the blue
Only a glimpse of his shirt here. Much brighter than most of his other outfits this ep. Also... idk, the colour combo and the stripes again remind me of a Blaine look. Cute tho

Sasusaku Pairing (6,969 words)
A Poor Attempt at Writing Fics
SasuSaku Edition III
Feels Like the First Time
Sasuke immediately opened his eyes once he felt a chakra inside their house. He was having a dream about his first kiss with Sakura. He's gonna kill Naruto for interrupting him.
But I wonder why I dreamt of that memory.
He decided to take a nap after Sakura went to work. He felt so tired after their almost-chakra-exhausting shennanigans inside the shower. He can spend the whole day fighting and kicking ass without ever tripping, but having mind-blowing shower sex with his wife can really make him go weak. He can't believe he missed out all these when he went for his long ass mission.
Sasuke remembered how Sakura immediately went out of the shower and frantically dressed while combing her hair at the same time. When he emerged and leaned on the doorframe of the bathroom with a towel wrapped on his waist, Sakura, still with only her unbuttoned jeans and her red cotton bra on, stopped everything she's doing as she looked at him. Sasuke remembered how pink her cheeks were and how her green eyes glowed as she looked at him in awe. He remembered how satisfying it felt.
She just walked the few distance from them and, to his surprise, grabbed his face down and kissed him hard on the mouth. Soon, her tongue was already in his mouth and tracing his teeth. Sasuke was so surprised at first but kissed her back the moment she parted her lips. But before he could even wrap his lone arm around her, she let go and told him she'll be late on her shift.
Sakura detached herself away from him and picked up her sleeveless shirt on the floor. As she was buttoning it up, Sasuke moved forward and buttoned her jeans for her. He remembered how she laughed at herself for forgetting and how he frowned. She claimed it was his fault for being such a huge distraction.
She kissed him one last time and murmured 'I love you so much' against his mouth. Sakura grabbed a black cardigan on the chair in front of her study table, blew him a kiss, and was gone. It all happened in the span of 2 minutes.
And then he slept. And he dreamt. And now, he was awaken by his idiot brother. He wonders now if he will use chidori to execute him. Or maybe a kitchen knife will do. He can try. Besides, it's Naruto. Knowing him, he might even entertain the idea.
But then, Sakura will beat them both when she learns how they tried to kill each other inside their house. The thought is amusing to Sasuke that he even smothered a chuckle that threatened to come out of him.
He went out to the living room where he found Naruto. Or more like his clone. Sasuke never really liked talking to his clone, it feels uncomfortable and off.
"What do you want?," Sasuke bluntly asked as he entered the living room. The Naruto clone turned around to face him and gave him a big smile.
"Teme! Let's have lunch together with Kakashi! He just came back from his vacation," the blond clone said.
Sasuke sighed and rubbed his temple, "Is that it?"
Naruto clone pouted and it made Sasuke's face crumple in disgust, "Why? Don't you want to see me? Come on! You just got back. You must have missed me!"
Sasuke just walked towards the sofa and slumped there sleepily, "You interrupted my nap."
"Why do you have to nap? You have always been an early riser. That was never a problem for you before," Naruto answered as he threw himself beside him on the couch.
"I trained with Sarada this morning," Sasuke simply said. He didn't mention the shower which is the main reason of his exhaustion.
Naruto nodded in approval, "She's getting better and better everyday, teme. She might be even better than you one day."
Sasuke just simply nodded his head as his eyes were closed. He also thought of this when they were training. With her inherited Sharingan from him and chakra control and strength from her mother, Sarada would definitely be a powerful kunoichi one day.
Naruto continued, "Thank god you only have Sarada. I can only imagine if there's another Uchiha running around and training in the academy right now."
That made Sasuke stop thinking. He opened his eyes and look at Naruto's clone. It's so weird talking to him about things like this, but what can he do?
The clone saw his expression and smirked, "What? Don't tell me there's another one coming up?"
The black haired man continued to look at him. Eventually, he shook his head no. "Of course not. I just got back."
The Hokage laughed and asked him, "Do you want to have more kids?"
Sasuke considered the question. One of his goals was to repopulate and revive the Uchiha clan. It was fulfilled when Sarada came to this world. He have a daughter full of life, hope and love from them all. And it was enough for Sasuke.
But has he ever considered Sakura's thoughts about this? He assumed that Sarada was enough for them. Besides, it was hard to leave them both for his mission. It would have been harder for Sakura to raise not just one child.
But now he's back for good. He can finally stay with Sakura throughout the hardships of her pregnancy and taking care of their future children.
Future children, he thought with gentleness and fascination. I wonder how would they look like.
Thoughts of a boy with his hair and a girl with his wife's was beginning to form in Sasuke's mind.
A little me? Or a little Sakura?
Now the thought becomes more appealing to him. All that's left with is Sakura's approval. Whatever Sakura decides, he will respect it. They need to talk later. But first, this blond idiot clone of his blond idiot best friend.
Sasuke looked at him and saw him simply smile. Just like Sakura, he can easily read him like an open book. It's annoying to Sasuke, really. It makes him look predictable, but only to people close to him.
But Sasuke just frowned at him, "Stop smiling, dobe."
As if a light came to his head, the Hokage clone brightened up. He snapped his fingers, "I have a great idea! I will help you, teme! Just wait and see!"
Sasuke can only look at him blankly. He hopes Naruto becomes busy with his work to remember this promise. He's dreading what the blond idiot will do.
--
In the end, Sasuke ended up agreeing with Naruto's clone to have lunch with him and Kakashi but not before throwing a shuriken at it when he stood up to go back to the bedroom. The clone went off with a poof even before it yelled at him. He heard the yelled curses at him when he met the real Naruto at lunch in his favorite ramen place with Kakashi.
The three met up there and ate lunch together filled with the Hokage's obnoxious loud voice and Kakashi's ever-present amused eye. Sasuke? Of course with his usual self.
They talked about Kakashi's vacation which almost took a few months and that he seem to have enjoyed. Naruto even teased him that Kakashi may have even met a woman. Kakashi just snorted and smoothly changed the subject. There are things you really can't change.
Sasuke shared some improvement on Sarada and he thanked his former mentor for guiding his daughter with her Sharingan when he was away. Kakashi simply shrugged and Naruto pouted at Sasuke and also demanded a word of gratitude. The blond exclaimed that he also helps Sarada by giving her and her team challenging missions for them to develop their own skills and camaraderie. By hearing this, Sasuke saw Kakashi almost gleam with pride and endearment. Team 7 really did absorb the most important thing Kakashi taught them.
Naruto almost choked with how he remembered his clone and Sasuke's conversation earlier in the morning and told Sasuke that he already took care of it. Sasuke frowned at him.
"You'll know when you see and talk to Sakura and Sarada," Naruto simply answered. Then added, "I expect results, teme! It's about damn time!"
Kakashi looked at him in amusement and asked him, "Do I even wanna know?"
Sasuke couldn't help but sigh in defeat. He simply looked blankly at the silver-haired man and grunted. Kakashi chuckled.
And now, Sasuke's walking back to their house. It's still too early so he's not expecting Sakura to be back. The cool breeze for the upcoming winter is becoming even more chill. With his black turtleneck and shinobi pants, he still felt the goosebumps all over him. The wind swept his long hair on his face and he irritably pushed it back.
He walked across an antique shop and saw his reflection in the mirror. He was never the vain type, he never much cared about his appearance. But now, he can see how long his hair had become and he kind of feels like he's becoming more of his brother look-a-like. He frowned.
Then an image of his wife suddenly went through his head. He rarely surprises her anymore because his wife knows him really well. Even his attempted surprise when he came home last night failed.
You need to step up your game.
An idea came up to his head. He decided to pick up Sakura later at the hospital when her shift ends. But that's not the only thing he has on his sleeves.
With a quick scan of his surroundings, he found the brick wall of the building he was looking for. He walked towards it and silently smirked.
Wait for me, Sakura.
--
If there's one thing he hates the most, it's how women can't seem to leave him alone.
Ever since he was in the academy, he was always surrounded by hordes of girls. He can't go anywhere without encountering at least one of them. It annoys the hell out of Sasuke before and it still stands that way until now.
Sasuke thought that maybe once women knew he's already married and a father, they would leave him alone. But no, it actually attracts more of them to irk him.
Just like now while he's standing at the hospital lobby waiting for his wife. He asked at the reception desk where could he find Sakura and the nurse behind the counter just stared at him for a long time. When he gave an impatient noise, the girl went red and stammered as she told him he could wait in the lobby.
He's now standing against the lobby wall and staring straight ahead in the hallway where he was expecting Sakura. From his peripheral vision, he could see a fair amount of women murmuring and giggling. Sasuke's fighting for self control because he wants to burn the hospital now. Even some of the women in the lobby stopped whatever the hell they were doing and just looked at him in awe. One even made a move to talk to him but he just gave her a deathly glare. The said woman recoiled in fear but when it subsided, still made an amazed expression. Sasuke fought a groan. He almost wished people still look at him as if he were a criminal just so he wouldn't feel their ogling.
He remembered how Naruto always seemed to be annoyed and envious at him for still having fangirls, as the blond calls them, even at their age.
He can have them for all I care.
Suddenly, a flash of red and pink at the end of the hallway caught his eyes. Sakura was talking to some nurses beside and behind her as they're walking. She's holding the back of her neck as she massages it.
Now that's the only fangirl I care about.
From what he can read in her mouth, she was giving them tips and suggestions on how to make their chakra flow easier throughout their body. One of the nurses beside her saw him and stopped walking and gasped. Sasuke almost rolled his eyes.
Yeah, it's just a face.
He looked back at Sakura and waited for her to notice him. She noticed how one of her companions gasped and stopped on her tracks. She turned to the young woman and asked her what's wrong. She saw how the nurse turned red and widen her eyes as she stared ahead.
Sakura followed her line of sight and gasped herself. There he was, Sasuke, looking tall and proud as he stared back at her. But the thing she was surprised about most was his hair.
It was now shorter than it had been a few hours ago. It doesn't reach his shoulder anymore and more like his hair back when he left Konoha for his redemption trip. The bangs he used to cover his Rinnegan is still there, but it's much shorter than before. He looked like a man in his early 20's rather than 30's. Sakura blushed.
Sasuke saw how her facial expressions changed again and again as she saw his appearance. And on cue, his wife blushed. Sasuke smirked at her and saw her eyes look down for a second and breathed out deeply. Sasuke was so amused at her that he didn't notice the women around him sigh in unison as they saw him smirk.
Sakura excused herself to her medical students and approached her husband. She can't look at him straight in the eyes at first but when reached him, she gathered all her courage to look at those intense eyes of his.
"Hi," she murmured under her breath. She was not sure why she was so shy. They did unspeakable things to each other earlier in the comfort of their shower and didn't feel remotely shy when he watched her dress for work. But now? Sakura can't even look at him for two seconds without blushing hard.
Sasuke soften his gaze down on her and murmured back, "Hi."
"What are you doing here?"
He reached down and traced his finger up, from her fingers to her arm and shoulder. His hand reached her hair and tuck tendrils of it behind her head, "Picking you up. It's almost 4."
He saw goosebumps all over Sakura's arm and he couldn't help but smirk at her. Sakura was looking up at him with wonder and love behind her emerald eyes.
"What did you do?," she asked as she touched the mane of his newly cut hair.
His voice was playful when he answered her, "Decided to make you flustered the whole day."
Sakura gasped at his answer and saw how his eyes danced in mirth. Then Sasuke added, "But I know I already did."
She can feel her neck and cheeks heat. She cleared her throat and looked at him defiantly, her lips almost in a pout.
"And what makes you think you made me that way the whole day, huh?"
Sasuke gave her a smile that promised her question was the wrong one, "You already forgot this morning? You wound me, Sakura."
Sakura might have melted on the hospital floor with the look Sasuke gave her if not because of her grip on the hem of Sasuke's black shirt. She closed her eyes and fought a groan. She can feel the eyes of everyone around them. At least they can't hear what they're talking about, she and Sasuke's still whispering to each other.
Sasuke remained staring at his blushing wife. He can hear the murmurs around but it all faded into the background when Sakura subtly shook her head, as if not believing he said those words. Then she spoke with a disbelieving smile.
"You.."
"Uchiha-san," a voice interrupted Sakura's remark. Both of them turned their head to meet one of the doctors. The man was startled because the two of them wore the same expression, stern and impatient.
"Uhh..", the doctor trailed. He looked from Sakura to Sasuke, who glared at him, then back to Sakura. "I-.. I mean.. S-sakura-san.. You can go now. It's o-okay. I'll take it f-from here." The doctor can't seem to know what to call Sakura. He wanted to call her Uchiha-san for respect but when he did that, her husband also turned to him. So he settled to call her by her name which also does not sit well with her husband, hence the more deathly glare.
Sakura soften her expression and gave the man an appreciative smile. The older doctor blushed a deep red and Sasuke's eyebrows met.
"Are you sure, Ryuu-san?", Sakura asked. "Megumi and her team still need guidance for their practical next week."
"Ah.. D-don't worry, Uch- ah, Sakura-san. I can do that," Ryuu stammered. He's not sure if it's because the beautiful head of the hospital is talking to him or it's because of her husband throwing daggers at him with those eyes.
Sakura gave him another smile and he conluded it was because of her. Anyone who could see that smile will definitely lose their mind for a minute.
"Thank you, Ryuu-san," she said as she passed the chart to him. "See you on Monday."
She turned to her staff and loudly exclaimed, "Good job today! See you on Monday! Work hard!"
They greeted her back as she gave them a big smile. Sasuke couldn't help but feel proud of his wife for being amazing. Not only is she a great mother and wife, but she's an even greater Konoha medic-nin. He also felt a deep satisfaction upon hearing her subordinates call her Uchiha-san or Uchiha-sama. He actually felt a little smug.
Yes, that's my wife.
Together, they pass through the hallways to Sakura's office. After discarding her lab coat and putting her cardigan over her shirt, they walked side by side as they leave the hospital.
Just like inside, the people of Konoha gaped at the couple as they walk home. It's been a while since the Uchiha patriarch was seen in the village, and it's a sight to see him together with the well-loved medic.
She's walking a little ahead of him so he could see how she turns her head and smile everytime she's called by the villagers. He could also see how there's a skip or bounce in her steps which makes him stifle a smile.
She's still like a child.
An image of a blushing Ryuu earlier came to mind and the child remark immediately vanished from his mind.
No. Not a child.
'Fuck me.'
He then heard his wife's voice earlier in his thoughts. Now that sealed the deal for him. His wife is definitely not a child anymore. She's a woman who can make any man blush (yes, including him of course) and who can make him hard with her smell and make him lose control with two words and kill him in 7 seconds.
Speaking of..
"I dreamt earlier," he muttered.
Sakura turned around to face him, a fond expression on her face. "Is it any good? What was it about?," she asked him.
He nodded, "Our first kiss."
Her eyes soften, "That's a good dream, indeed."
"I'm just curious why I dreamt of that."
She thought for a moment. He saw how her eyebrows met in concentration and her teeth bit her lower lip. Sasuke just stared in fascination.
After a while, she looked at him and spoke. "It's maybe because you're home."
She added a soft smile reserved only for him and he felt his breath catch. Sasuke thought about what she said and immediately agreed to it. That kiss was the start of something new for Sasuke. It was weeks after he got back from his journey, but he felt truly at home for the first time when she saw Sakura under the rain and they kissed.
He never knew kissing someone for the first time because you're in love with them was such a cathartic experience. He never knew of heart skipping a beat when you saw someone's neck; or a hand trembling so hard because you want to hold their hand for no reason; or eyes that can't seem to blink when they talk for you not to miss a single thing. Sasuke only knew hate and revenge and self-pity. But that kiss changed him and let him know freedom and tenderness and salvation.
I'm eternally grateful.
Sasuke stopped walking, and it made Sakura halt as well. He gave her a smile that seems to agree with her and held her hand. Sasuke laced their fingers together.
He can feel his ears burning, not because of the cold breeze. He forgot how simple hand holding means so much to someone like him who only knew of hands inflicting pain and blood. He looks down for a moment at their intertwined fingers to gather his wits and then directly looked in her eyes. As always, she was blushing. After all, Sasuke is not one for public display of affection.
He whispered, soft as the air around them, "Thank you."
He watched her eyes shine and her cheeks glow. She smiled that breathtaking smile and Sasuke couldn't help but lean down and softly kiss her there in the middle of the street, with every nosy village people around them gawking. He couldn't give a shit because there's no more pretending not to be hopelessly in love with her and show her exactly that.
No teeth, no tongue, no movement. Just lips pressed against each other.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Six.
Seven.
He counted in his head, recreating the beautiful memory of their first kiss. They pulled away from each other but their foreheads met. Sasuke opened his eyes and saw Sakura with her eyes still closed. He stared at her, savored the moment, and stored it in his heart she helped him pick up the pieces again.
Sasuke took the opportunity to tell her something, "Don't talk to that Ryuu guy often. I don't like the way he looks at you."
He said it so softly that Sakura might not have even heard him over her beating heart. But when the words seemed to seep through her, she opened her eyes and chuckled under her breath. Sakura thought he looks so cute when he's embarassed and jealous.
"Uchiha Sasuke being jealous. I think this is a first," she teased him. She saw how her husband's face turned pink. She laughed again as he groaned in response and hid his face against her hair.
"That's right. Hide your face, Sasuke-kun," she looped her free arm around his waist and whispered in his ear. "The people might see you blush. There's too many women. I don't want them to die of cuteness."
Sasuke gave a low chuckle under his breath and inhaled her scent, "Shall we go then? I don't wanna be blamed for all the casualties that may ensue."
A split second later, the village people ogling at them was surprised to see the beautiful couple gone, with only a trail of leaves and flowers behind.
--
Sakura was laughing when they emerged inside the house, still with hand in Sasuke's. She was laughing because she can imagine what the people busy watching them must look like when they vanished into thin air. Sasuke hides his amusement. They can go crazy for all he cares.
Sarada came out of her room when she heard a noise. She saw her mother laughing in the foyer. She saw her covering her mouth with her hand, the other one tightly held by his father.
That's the first time she saw them in physical contact with each other. The last time Sarada remembers was when they saved Sakura from Shin. And to be honest, that contact was just helping her to stand up. But now, she can see how their fingers are laced together. She felt herself smile as she continued to watch. Then, something peculiar caught her eye, aside from his father's newly cut hair.
When Sarada first saw Sasuke look at her mother, she saw the question behind them. When Sakura went to punch the hell out of Shin before she got kidnapped, Sarada saw her parents talk about her and saw how her father seemed to ask a silent question to her. When they saved Sakura, Sarada saw the concern mixed with mild rage as Sasuke saw her mother injured. When they went home and spent time together, she saw how her father's eyes seemed to be saying thank you to her mother as she placed food in front of him. Those were the only emotions she got from looking at the way her father looks at her mother. But today is different.
Sakura was still laughing softly as she was mumbling things to him in amusement, but Sarada's focus is on Sasuke. She saw how her father's eyes crinkle at the corners and his usually straight face lift infinitesimally. If she look closely, she swears she can see a tiny patch of color in his cheeks. She watched as Sasuke's eyes roam around Sakura's face, then he leaned in and hid his face on the side of her mother's face.
Sarada felt like she walked in on a very private moment so she averted her eyes. She felt weird in her stomach all of a sudden, not sure what to do about this new emotion. When she looked back in the foyer, her parents were gone. Her eyebrows met in confusion. And then, she felt a prickle of chakra behind her and she whirled around to see both of them. Sasuke was leaning on the wall and Sakura was bending forward slightly while smiling at her. Sarada blushed. She feels kinda embarassed and guilty at the same time for kinda spying on them.
"Tadaima, Sarada," Sakura sweetly said to her. She was still chuckling under her hand when Sasuke leaned in and whispered into her ear that Sarada was hiding and watching them. They looked at each other then and shared the same thought, as they always do.
Sarada stammered slightly and answered her mother, "O-..Okairi, mama." She looked at her father, "Papa."
Sasuke watched as his daughter blush like her mother. He couldn't help but remember how Sakura did the same thing when she felt flustered. He gave Sarada a fond look and saw her smile back.
"I have a mission tomorrow," Sarada informed them. "Lord Seventh called us earlier before lunch and insisted that we should take it."
Before Sakura could say anything, Sarada already said, "Don't worry, mama. It's just B-rank within the borders. We'll be back tomorrow evening."
Sakura smiled at her, "I know you and your team can handle it. I was just gonna ask when are you leaving? Your papa and I will go somewhere."
Sasuke’s brows furrowed in confusion, We are?
"Oh," Sarada replied sheepishly. "At dawn tomorrow, but can I stay at Boruto's? Nanadaime said Himawari wanted me to have a sleepover."
He did?
Sasuke feels like something is up but he doesn’t know what. It’s that feeling when you know your best friend is being a dobe more than usual.
Apparently, Sakura seems to be confused as well.
“That’s odd. Himawari never asked you for a sleepover before. It’s mostly Chou-chou,” Sakura said, her brows in confusion as well as Sasuke. “But if Naruto insisted, then I don’t see why not.”
Sarada seemed to brighten up, “Thank you Mama! Anyway, where are you going with Papa?”
Sasuke looked at Sakura then, at the same time Sakura turns to him. She gave him a sheepish smile, “Ino wanted us to meet with the rest of the guys. You know.. a night out with friends without the kids and work. She said everyone’s gonna be there. It sounds fun..”
Upon seeing Sasuke’s ever-stoic expression, Sakura added a rushed “But we don’t have to go if you don’t wa-“
“Okay,” he interrupted.
Sasuke already made up his mind once she gave him that smile. He would gladly say yes to everything she asks of him if it would make her happy. And even though he doesn’t feel like socializing (when did he ever?), seeing Sakura beam that beautiful smile was enough for him to push through.
Sakura smiled at him and shyly said, “Thank you, Sasuke-kun.”
Sarada watched how her parents talked to each other and noticed how pink both their cheeks are, especially her dad. She felt something in her stomach again as she watched and she couldn’t help but smile as well.
Sasuke watched as his girls give him their own bright smiles and felt as if his heart got bigger just to accommodate the love and affection clearly reflected through greens and blacks. He is grateful, forever and ever.
“Well,” Sakura suddenly stated. She kissed Sarada’s cheek and said, “Might as well have an early dinner.”
She gave Sasuke a soft gaze full of love, and just like it has always been, he understood.
Us three. Finally. Together again.
“Aa,” he softly answered with a curl on his lips. “I’d like that.”
—
Their reunion dinner went by quickly and smoothly. It was full of enthusiastic remarks from his daughter, quirky comments from his wife, and of course, monotone one-liners from him that’s why they both made fun of him. He half-heartedly scowled the entire time.
But now, it’s different. It’s their friends who are making fun of him at the moment, and he couldn’t help but glare at Naruto who has always been the pain in his ass.
They’re in a barbecue restaurant (‘Thank god it’s not in Ichiraku’, Sakura whispered to him once they entered the place) and alcohol is freely flowing on their table, courtesy of the Hokage. Everyone is drinking, even Hinata. A few hours in and Kakashi came as well, late as always.
It was so loud and rowdy, but Sasuke doesn’t seem to mind. He couldn’t take his eyes off of Sakura beside him with her chin on her hands as she leans on the table listening to Hinata who is sitting beside Naruto who is across from him. She’s wearing this royal blue turtleneck shirt that’s too big for her and black pants that hug her slender legs. A tiny Uchiha fan decorated the cream scarf bunched on her lap. Her cheeks are a bit red from the cold and the alcohol. She looks so young and vibrant. She suddenly looks at him, smiled, and he feels like he’s aged backwards as well.
This was, of course, taken notice by Ino, “Would you both stop with the eye sex already? There are other people here too, you know? Geez!”
Sakura just rolled her eyes and stick her tongue out to Ino.
“You can’t blame him,” Kakashi interrupted. “He just got back and finally saw his wife again. Cut him some slack.”
Sasuke noticed the way Naruto mildly glared at Ino and the way Kakashi and Naruto glanced and grinned at each other. (He can tell by the slight movement under Kakashi’s mask)
Just what the hell are these idiots up to?
Just before he calls Naruto on his bullshit, Ino interrupted again.
“Okay fine. I’ll refrain from teasing them too much for now, since I have a very special announcement,” Ino declared, her blue eyes sparkling. He then noticed her untouched bottle of sake.
“What is it?”, Sakura excitedly asked.
Ino smiled widely and announced, “I’m pregnant!”
A series of congratulations and hugs went on, and of course Sakura might’ve shed a tear or two. He also sent his timid congratulations through a murmur and a nod to Sai, which the latter gave back.
“Wow, Sai! I still couldn’t believe you had it in you!” Naruto teased, his loud voice obnoxious and ringing throughout their space. Laughter ensued.
“I could say the same to you since you’re dickless right? How did you do that?,” Sai bit back. He turned to Hinata and innocently asked, “How did he do that?”
“Hey! I’m your Hokage! Show some respect!”
Even Sasuke couldn’t help but fight back a snort from their banter. Seriously, nothing ever changed with them. Kakashi still reads porn, Naruto is still a dobe, and Sakura is still beautiful, especially now as she laughs and joins in making fun of Naruto.
When the situation finally simmered down, Hinata suddenly dropped a question that shook him.
“How about you two, Sakura-chan? Do you have plans on making another Sarada-chan?”
He heard a gasp from his side, and he looked at his wife. She’s still red from the alcohol and probably from the tears and all that laughing.
She seems to contemplate her answer. He could feel her fidget a little and saw her lick her lips, a habit she might not know she does when she’s nervous.
Everyone is anticipating an answer from either of them. Sasuke can feel even Shikamaru’s curiosity to where he’s seated. The problem is, Sasuke doesn’t know how to answer. He looked down instead.
Sure, he’s content with her and Sarada. He’s happy. He truly is. But he also wants to make their family a bit bigger. He doesn’t want Sarada to grow up without experiencing the joy of having a sibling. A smiling Itachi looking down on him when he was a child suddenly came to mind and his heart ached a little. He still misses him to this very day.
But he’s not sure if that’s what Sakura also wanted. He doesn’t want to put Sakura in an awkward situation, especially in front of their friends. He wants to say that it’s their issue and they should talk about it in private when Sakura’s soft voice pierced through the silence.
“Whatever you want, Sasuke-kun.”
He immediately looked at her, so sudden that it might’ve given him a whiplash but he didn’t care. She was already looking at him the moment he looked down. He saw the familiar faith in him through her eyes and he couldn’t say a thing. She knowingly smiled at him.
Sakura just put her hand on his thigh and gently squeezed it. She turned her gaze on all their friends and smiled softly, “Whatever my husband wants.”
His heart skipped a beat. It actually skipped a beat. He thought he already know a lot of things, but Sakura just keeps on proving him wrong.
Because Sakura still continues to teach him things like this — that it’s possible to be this selfless just for the sake of someone tainted like him. She always puts him first. His wants, his needs, his dreams. She always puts him and Sarada on the top of her priorities before her friends and her duty as a medic and a kunoichi and her own self.
He’s speechless and deaf for he couldn’t hear a thing. He couldn’t see anything other than Sakura’s smiling face.
Sakura. Sakura. Sakura.
Maybe it’s the alcohol, or the depth of emotions he didn’t know he had, but he grabbed the back of Sakura’s head and turned it sideways just to put his mouth on hers.
He didn’t see the wide eyes of Shikamaru and proud angle of Kakashi’s shoulders. He didn’t hear the gasp of Hinata and Ino, and the choked sound from Sai. And Naruto? He feels like a proud father at the moment.
All Sasuke knows is to just feel and smell and taste Sakura. Sakura. Sakura.
He broke the kiss and saw how breathless his wife was. He’s proud. He suddenly stood up and pulled up Sakura into a standing position. Sasuke turned to them all and said, “Excuse me, but my wife and I need to talk.”
In the blink of an eye, the couple was gone.
Kakashi suddenly said, “I’m pretty sure there won’t be any talking that’s gonna happen.”
This was followed by a bright, cheeky and a bit drunk grin from Naruto, “Believe it, old man! Congratulations on a successful mission, guys! Thank you for cooperating with me! Now it’s just a matter of time before a new Uchiha is cooking up inside Sakura-chan! Sasuke-teme better kiss my ass for this, ‘ttebayo!”
They raised their glass for the two Uchiha’s and the future Uchiha baby that will surely be on its way.
They drank their glasses when Sai suddenly asked, “Are they always like that? Referring to each other as ‘my wife’ and ‘my husband’ while being on each other’s company? Ahh. And they say I’m weird.”
—
They barely made it through the hallway. They barely made it through bedroom door. They barely made it to their bed. Sasuke has never thanked Naruto’s daughter in his life for inviting Sarada for a sleepover than now because at this moment, they look like drunk teenagers making out throughout their house. He honestly could have taken her right then and there at their living room. Hell, he could’ve taken her right on the floor. He’s burning with so much passion and love right now that he couldn’t contain himself.
It was all a blur. One minute they’re stumbling on their bed and he’s fumbling with his clothes, and the next second he’s inside her. But once he’s in her depths, everything seemed clearer now. He could see every labored breath she’s taking, every sweat drops on her skin, every ounce of love and lust on her eyes that was surely reflected on his as well.
They’re both breathing hard, both unmoving, both relishing their union. He’s on top of her, his whole body cradled by hers, his whole heart completely owned by her. He’s so overwhelmed by so much feelings. He knows he’s a bit intoxicated with alcohol but he’s more intoxicated by her beauty and love. He loves her so much and now it’s not just enough to think or feel it.
“I love you,” he murmurs to her, his lone hand on her face with his thumb tracing her cheeks and lips. His eyes are following his thumb and his lips followed suit as he kisses her softly. His eyes found hers and he saw how teary it is and he knows they’re happy tears so he lets them flow freely. He kisses her eyes and her cheeks and her jaw and her lips again and again and again, with him unmoving and still deep inside her.
“I know I don’t say it often, but I really do. I love you,” he softly continues against her mouth. He breaks the kiss and looks at her, “And I know you may think I already forgotten how to. I couldn’t even remember the last time I said it to you. Knowing you, you probably do.” Sasuke received a slight nod from her that made him smile a little.
Of course you do. You love me too much and I will never understand how you do but I want you to know that I love you too. I love you I love you I love you.
He moved a little bit and earned a gasp from her. With him being on top and her long legs wrapped around his hips, he pushed forward again and fought back a groan against her throat when she moaned his name.
Sasuke looked back at her again and saw her face contorted in pleasure with her eyes closed and her mouth slightly opened. While moving slowly and gently back and forth inside her, he called her.
“Sakura.”
Green eyes peered at him, clouded in haze of love. He softly gave her a smile and said, “This family we made together is the greatest thing you’ve ever given me, Sakura. Thank you.”
He watched as tears formed again in her eyes. But he’s not yet done. His hand left her hip to poke her softly on her forehead, before returning to clasp her hand on his and intertwine their fingers.
“You’re my wife. You’re an Uchiha. And you’re the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me,” he continued as his hips meet hers. He wanted to close his eyes so badly but he couldn’t look away from his wife.
“You’re so beautiful,” he said aloud. Sasuke heard her whimper, moved by his words. He felt her hand held tightly by him unclasp with his to roam around his back and his hair until both of her hands found his face and held it.
Words have never been his forte, but for her, he will always try. “Let’s make our family bigger, Sakura. I want to give you more children. I want to make you happy.”
Her tears are flowing down her cheeks now, but her smile is radiant as ever. She kissed him hard on the lips and whispered, “You already make me happy, anata.”
With the sway of her hips and the moan of her name from his mouth, Sasuke made love to her as if it was their first time. Every kiss lingered, every touch burned in the right way. Every look is a blessing and she is the greatest blessing herself.
Sasuke repeatedly said he loves her throughout the entire time until they both came together. Saying those three words have never been so easy for him until this moment. He promised himself he will say it to her every day for the rest of their lives together.
And even when their ashes scatter in the wind 50 years from now, he knows he will love her in the next life. It will always be Haruno Sakura for Uchiha Sasuke. And in return, he will always be hers.
—
9 months later, male twin Uchiha babies with black hair and green eyes were born. And the Hokage demanded Sasuke the gratitude he deserves for the next 5 decades.

The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story Recap: Season 2, Episode 7, “Ascent”
One highlight of this Ryan Murphy-produced take on the criminal drama surrounding the death of famed fashion designer Gianni Versace has been one Ms Penélope Cruz. It’s been a delight to see the Spanish actress intermittently show up as Donatella Versace with her striking platinum hair and outfits to match. In this latest episode, which still mostly centers on Andrew Cunanan’s backstory, we get to see how Gianni’s brush with death has him planning for a day when he won’t be at the helm of the business anymore. He’s encouraged his sister to work closely with him in an upcoming collection though he explodes when he sees she’s not really pushing herself as a designer. Not only were we glad to see Penélope and Édgar Ramírez back at it tenderly sniping at each other as the Versace siblings but seeing the two recreate the infamous bondage dress they showcased at Vogue’s 100th Anniversary Party was just divine. Mostly because Cruz looked amazing strutting her stuff in the leather, belted dress.
Talking to InStyle about the show’s wardrobe and their work with Cruz, costume designer Allison Leach noted how precise the actress wanted to be when it came to playing Donatella. And with the fashion house adamantly uninvolved with the series and actual Versace pieces going for the thousands on eBay, Leach and her fellow designer Lou Eyrich knew they had to get creative. Thankfully, it sounds like Cruz was very involved in the process. “She also really wanted to project the gravitas of the situation, so she did wear a lot of black, which Donatella did,” Leach told InStyle. “So then the silhouette becomes even more important, and the details, like the perfect Versace belt. Those details really sell it. Penélope likes to wear Versace in her own life and has tremendous respect for the brand, so whenever we’d find some gem, she would get so excited and say, ‘Can I keep this?!'”
As we begin nearing the end of this season of American Crime Story we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to give Ms Cruz and the show’s costume designers their due. With that in mind, we hereby offer a wholly subjective ranking of the many outfits the Oscar-winning actress has donned as Donatella Versace so far in the show. Spoiler alert: she looks stunning in pretty much every single one of them, surprising no one.
7. Down To Business Suit
Even when dressed down to talk business—she wore this when deciding to scrap the idea of making Versace a publicly-traded company, a lifelong dream of Gianni’s—Donatella exudes confidence with the perfect golden flourish. Still, though, compared to everything else Cruz got to wear, this was rather boring.
6. Mourning in Turtleneck
In contrast to the popping colors of Miami, and fitting her grief over her recent loss, this black turtleneck/jacket combo is as understated as Donatella gets. Knowing that she’d need to confront Gianni’s “companion” (played by Ricky Martin), the harsh silhouette and combative fabric (doesn’t get more confrontational than shoulder-padded leather) make sense as she tries to assert herself in her brother’s old home.
5. The Bondage Dress In The Making
Arguably the highlight of this episode (and of the show’s fashion) is seeing how Gianni and Donatella ended up working together to craft the infamous dress that she ended up wearing to the Vogue’s 100th Anniversary Party back in 1993. Using belts as structural accessories? Genius.
4. Work It, In Denim
You start noticing a lot about Cruz’s Donatella when you put her outfits together like this: there’s a simplicity to her style that nevertheless gets its understated elegance from pieces that would otherwise be needlessly garish on anyone else or paired with some other outfit. Take those golden buttons, that bold belt and that bracelet. They’re both too much and just enough at the same time. A perfect outfit for making the rounds of your fashion empire.
3. A Mournful Bride
That is really what she looks like here, no? The veil, the embroidery, the classic and decidedly Italian elegance make Donatella look like she’s a bride in mourning, ready to let out her grief in agonizing wails.
2. That Pink Dress
Listen, if you told us this was a picture of Cruz taken at an awards after-party, we’d be inclined to believe you. Sure, we prefer the Spanish actress in her natural dark brown hair, but she’s been known to wow people on the red carpet time and time again, and this dress (which barely got seen in the actual episode) is a stunner. Fit for a fashion queen.
1. The Pink Jacket
Donatella serving you bubblegum female executive realness in this gorgeous over-the-top jacket is everything. The rolled-up sleeves say “I’m ready for anything” but the jewelry, which includes golden bracelets, earrings, and a coin/pendant necklace truly remind you that Gianni’s sister was (and still is) a fashion icon who’d never be caught dead without the perfect accessories.

Praise the Cord: A Guide to Wearing Corduroy
Corduroy may well be one of the best fabrics of our age, threatening to even surpass tweed. As each passing autumn gets warmer and warmer, corduroy is one of the few fabrics you can wear this time of year without overheating. It also embodies all that is good -- it’s smart, yet informal; outdoorsy, yet intellectual. Jesse summed it up best in his address to the Corduroy Appreciation Club a few years ago (yes, that’s a real thing):
For a thousand years, corduroy has stood for what is right in our lives. Intellectual rigor. Fresh air. The comfort of a crackling fire. It is a fabric as forgiving and enduring as our spirits at their best. […] Corduroy is a fabric built to take on the world. Tuck your corduroy trousers into your boots and feed the pigs. Roll up your corduroy sleeves and bring in the harvest. Put on a corduroy field jacket and go outside to build something. […] Corduroy is the fabric of living.
Of course, corduroy is also seen as fusty and old-fashioned, worn by those who are hopelessly out-of-touch. See every movie about an English Lit professor, who’s shown wearing a threadbare, ill-shaped corduroy sport coat with patched elbows. Nevermind that academics rarely wear corduroy in real life. The fabric is a way for directors to communicate something to their audiences, much like how dark shirts under suits are used to identify made men in mob films.
At the same time, it’s that down-to-earth, out-of-touch character that makes corduroy so great. At a time when everyone is try to dress down as much as possible, corduroy sport coats and trousers allow you to look a bit sharper without seeming overdressed. Wear them with oxford cloth button downs and soft, brown suede shoes. As the fabric naturally wears down and bags over time, it’ll only look and feel more comfortable. Some suggestions on to wear the fabric well:
Classic and Easy-to-Wear Combinations
Corduroy has its roots in workwear and country clothing, so it does naturally well in earthy, autumnal colors such as wheat tan, russet brown, and mossy green. That said, don’t be afraid of colors such as navy or gray. So long as you know the history of how colors have been used, you can combine rustic fabrics with “city” colors for a more contemporary look.
The ribs running down corduroy are known as wales (from the Anglo-Saxon walu, which means “to mark with stripes”). The more wales per inch, the sleeker and more contemporary the look. Most cords have eleven wales per inch, which make them versatile for anything from suits to sport coats to trousers. Needlecord, which can go up to sixteen wales per inch, is generally better for suits and casual pants. Jumbo wales can be as low as eight wales, which pushes it closer to casualwear (in tailoring, jumbo wales can make a man look a bit old school).
The easiest way to incorporate corduroy into your wardrobe is to start with pants. Five-pocket needlecord jeans are a great alternative to denim, and can be worn with almost anything. You can find them at places such as Levi’s, Club Monaco, and Lee. Preppy American clothiers, such as Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers, stock slim-fitting cords that look a bit dressier; S.E.H. Kelly and Old Town make ones that sit well with workwear. For things you can combine with traditional tailoring, try Rota, Ring Jacket, Drake’s, and Cordings. Our advertiser Proper Cloth even sells needlecord shirts, which would look great with chinos or denim.
See the combinations above for styling ideas. Casual cords can be worn with chunky, textured knitwear, which can be used on their own or layered underneath quilted jackets and tailored topcoats. If the rise on the pants is high enough, you can team them with autumnal sport coats in materials such as tweed or heavy wool. Similarly, corduroy sport coats can be equally versatile. I like them with flapped pockets, rather than patched, as the thick material can sometimes add visual weight to your hips. When done right, a corduroy jacket can be worn with everything from blue jeans to tan khakis to gray flannels to brown cavalry twills. Some of these combinations are so classic, there are even songs and books about them.
Going Beyond the Basics
Corduroy will never lose its fusty connotations -- that, in part, is what makes the fabric so charming. That said, one of the easiest ways to modernize a look is to play with color. See how English-American novelist Christopher Isherwood wears a tan sport coat with taupe wool trousers and a blue shirt. While it’s possible to combine light colors in your shirt and jacket, if you find your ensemble visually floating away, you can always anchor a light colored jacket with a darker button-up or sweater.
Corduroy also plays well with denim, which makes it a great option if you like dressing down your tailored jackets. Andy Spade, co-founder of Kate Spade along with other companies, has built his style around this combination -- green, tan, and dark brown sport coats, cut a little full for comfort, but also a touch short to make the silhouettes feel casual. He usually wears them with beat-up blue jeans and similarly old chukka boots (often desert boots, such as Loake’s Sahara or Clark’s). You can accessorize this look with a pocket square, but I find jeans + sport coat combos look best without a tie (it keeps things casual).
It can be a little jaunty, but turtlenecks look great under textured jackets made of napped flannel, prickly tweed, and most of all, ribbed corduroy. Stick to thinner merinos, so you don’t add too much bulk underneath. I find mid-gray, charcoal, and dark green to be the easiest colors to wear, although navy can also add a contemporary touch.
Finally, if corduroy sport coats feel too dressy for you, don’t forget about the wide world of casualwear. Companies such as Naissance, S.E.H. Kelly, 1ST PAT-RN, Engineered Garments, APC, and Barena all used the material this season for things such as workwear, casual topcoats, and sport-coat-inspired outerwear. For a more affordable option, Levi’s corded sherpa would look great with a sweater and some jeans, and can be had for just $98. Uniqlo also has a corded trucker jacket for just under $20.

Il Me L’a Dit, L’a Juré Pour La Vie - Part Fifteen
Marinette didn’t think inviting Chat Noir in for milk would lead to this.
The heroes were 20 years old, in university, and it was now time to trust each other better than they ever did.
CHAPTER LIST
Rating: Teen/ Mature.
Angst and fluff, and all that good stuff.
Il Me L’a Dit, L’a Juré Pour La Vie - Part Fifteen
Trouble
Adrien’s phone chimed and vibrated. He picked it up from the table and read Nino’s reply to his text. So did you kiss Marinette yet? ;)
Adrien rolled his eyes. He ruffled through the papers sprawled on the wooden dining room table in his father’s mansion. He was signing yet another contract for a collaboration photoshoot. His father was working with the company specialising in these new designer shoes that were swooping the nation for their “originality”, but Adrien was sure they looked like any other pair of brown leather shoes.
He texted Nino back; Dude.
Nino answered almost instantly; Adrien barely put his phone down. He read the text, and laughed at his friend’s complaint. Nino had been pestering about the details for days and was still in disbelief. Adrien messed up by accidentally telling him, but he had no intentions of telling him anything else.
Adrien had yet to tell Marinette that Nino knew about their relationship, but he was a little fearful of what might happen. He was going to tell her everything! He wasn’t going to keep another secret. He was just waiting for the right time but he couldn’t wait any longer and was going to do it as soon as possible.
He signed his name at the bottom of three more pages before gathering them in a neat pile and tapping them against the table. He pushed himself out of his seat, the sound echoed in the large and empty dining room. He walked to his father’s office. He knocked on his door, unsure if his father was present. There was no answer so he turned the handle.
When he walked into the room, he nearly jumped back. His father sat at his desk, his head rested in his arms. He was asleep. Adrien uncomfortably stood at the door. He and his father never had much of a relationship, and it was next to non-existent since he graduated high school. It was a strictly business kind of relationship, and he had given up trying to build any sort of bond after he realized his mother wasn’t coming back.
He hesitantly placed the papers at the corner of his desk and started to leave the room. He glanced back to his father. He moved to the desk and walked around, placing his father’s jacket that was resting on the back on the chair on his shoulders. He took the glasses that seemed to have been thrown on the desk, closed them and placed them neatly in front of his head.
Adrien awkwardly rested his hand on his father’s back in an attempt to be affectionate before shaking his head and leaving the office, shutting the door behind him.
The house was empty, as per usual. Nathalie once tried to convince his father to get a pet to keep him company, but Gabriel merely scoffed at the idea and Adrien laughed at the idea; how could his father take care of a pet if he struggled at parenting.
Everything about his relationship with his father was rocky.
He started to head up the stairs looking for Nathalie. He hated calling for her in the house – he hated calling for anyone. He would rather go see them personally. He didn’t like how his voice resonated against the walls; it reminded him of his loneliness. Even now, it made Adrien cringe at the very thought of an echo.
He found her in walking down the hallway, a beige folder under her right arm.
“Nat,” he said looking down at her. He was significantly taller than her and his father.
“Adrien. Did you finish signing those papers?”
“Yeah. I put them in my father’s office, but he was, erm, sleeping.”
Natalie sighed and readjusted her glasses. “Your father has been working a lot lately.”
Adrien nodded, “That’s a little worrying…”
“It’s alright. It’s just for the big fashion show in Milan next week. He’ll be fine after that.”
Adrien stared at Nathalie blankly, “Milan?”
She gave him an annoyed and concerned look, “Yes. You were supposed to go with him.”
A lightbulb went off in his head. He was only half listening to Nathalie when she was telling him about this – his mind was… elsewhere. “It’s next week? I thought it was later.”
Now Nathalie was visibly aggravated as she opened the folder in front of her eyes. She pulled out a paper and handed it to him. “Your schedule for the next week.” It was completely full. “Next time, pay attention. Your father would not have been happy if you missed the preparations. Your first fitting is tomorrow at 7am.” She pointed at the top of the page.
Adrien scanned down the page. He forgot he was going with his father, and frankly, he did not have much interest in the fashion show they were giving over there. It’s not like he was going there to be a model either; though his father was tempted to put him in the show, but Gabriel wanted to have his son as a decoration by his side.
He had been doing this for Gabriel for years. Gabriel loved to show off his son; placing him in extravagant fashion shows and complexly difficult photoshoots. Adrien was a smart guy, he breezed through all his subjects in school and he caught on quickly in the fashion industry, making him incredibly pleasant to work with.
He also knew how to work the media, but his appearance in Milan would only cause a ruckus in Pairs when he returned. Most journalists and fans would gather near his apartment for a bit until they grew bored and found another topic to obsess over. But when they were there, Adrien would answer questions to the best of his abilities, or he was annoyingly vague with his responses – the kind that would make anyone dissatisfied, but of course, he would seal it all together with a dazzling camera ready smile, and most people would melt and let it go.
“You’re particularly lucky that it was me who reminded you. Your father would have been very displeased; he’s under a lot of stress.” Nathalie closed the folder.
Adrien nodded, and crossed his arms. His forearms flexed tensely. It was hard for him to not forget these things after his exciting past few weeks. Going to Milan was so irrelevant.
Nathalie rested her hand on his arm in an attempt of comfort, “This event will fly by. I promise.” She moved around him and carried on her way down the hall.
“Oh Nathalie,” Adrien called out turning around. She stopped to face him. “Did… Did you mention anything about a university again?”
She nodded, “He is still stuck on the idea of you studying fashion.”
Adrien groaned, “Can’t he compromise? I’ll minor in it. I just want to do something else, I’m good at a lot of other things…”
“I’m sorry. I’ll see what I can do, but it’ll have to wait until you come back from your trip.”
***
Marinette was on the floor in the living room, her designs sprawled out around her. She laid on her stomach and tapped her pencil to her lips. She was stuck on this one sketch; the dress was long and beautiful but she still struggled on a colour and a fabric. She drew this one design in lead rather than in coloured pencils – she was inspired on the subway and it was the only thing she had to sketch.
No colours were particularly jumping at her; red and blue were too basic for this gown, purple made the dress appear childish and green gave the design an elven vibe, which was something she was not going for. She wanted something bold, something brilliant.
She sat up and crossed her legs. She pulled her shirt over her nose – she was wearing Adrien’s turtleneck again. It still faintly carried his smell, but she had worn it too many times that week and it was now beginning to smell like bread.
Marinette hummed to herself – she was very happy this week. It all felt right. Adrien’s bright smile filled her thoughts; his shimmering emerald eyes that crinkled when he laughed. The way his nose wrinkled when she flicked it. The way his black leather suit clung to his muscles. The way his golden hair flopped when he moved. She glanced down on her paper again. His golden hair…
Marinette scrambled forward for her nicest pencils and markers. She looked for the most golden ones she had and began to gently swatch each colour on a scrap page. She pulled some yellows out, and even tested a shade of jade, but quickly crossed it out deciding that the golden and green combo looked best on Adrien.
She promptly found her shades and began to gently sketch the colours next to the dress. The dress was a cheerful yellow and the bodice had golden sequences that started in the sleeves, and trailed down and scattered into the skirt of the dress. She decided on a light and flowy chiffon fabric.
She grinned down at her dress. She felt like she was fifteen again, inspiring herself off this boy.
Suddenly, the front door went flying opened and she whipped her head around startled. Alya came storming in, Marinette could practically see the black smoke fuming over her head.
“A-Alya?”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Her voice was low but it shook with fury.
“What?”
“Don’t play dumb with me, Mari. Why didn’t you tell me about Adrien?”
Marinette felt her heart drop to her stomach, “I-I’m sorry?”
“You and Adrien are dating?”
Marinette glanced around the room. But how? Marinette wondered. She felt her breathing pick up as she grew nervous under her friend’s angry gaze. Her phone began vibrating furiously on the ground.
Alya placed her hands on her hips. “Why didn’t you tell me?!” Her voice was growing louder and impatient.
“How did you find out?” Marinette asked quietly.
“Through Nino! Marinette, I am so sick of these secrets! You had so many chances to tell me - You let me stay mad at you for days!”
Through Nino? Marinette’s mind was circling wildly around the statement. There’s only one person who could tell Nino something like that and he would have known better. Marinette started to feel her anger bubble up inside her chest and heat rising to her cheeks. “Alya,”
“No! I am so tired of this! You don’t tell me anything! I let you do whatever it is you do for years, but you would think at some point, you’d tell me a thing or two?! You come home late when you’re out – you say that you’re at school, but who knows anymore! You could be making out with Adrien Agreste in the back alley!”
“Alya, I’m sorry. It was just really complicated…”
“Hell, I’ll say! This came out of nowhere! How long have you been seeing him behind my back? Because last time I checked, you were still moping about him.”
“It hasn’t been-“
“I don’t want any excuses!” The darker girl yelled. Marinette startled. She felt her eyes prickle with tears. She swallowed the hard lump that formed in her throat and she started to gather her papers. Alya was breathing heavily as she still stood at the front door wearing her coat and shoes.
Marinette stood up, her arms full with her schoolwork, “I was going to tell you.”
“When?!”
Marinette stared at her and thought of her answer. When was she going to tell her? As far she knew, she was going to keep it a secret. She and Adrien had grown close too fast for Alya.
“That’s what I thought.” Alya finally stepped out of her shoes, kicking them messily on the side. She pulled her jacket off and tossed it on the hook. “Here’s what confuses me; you guys must’ve been seeing each other for a long time because how the hell would you guys manage to grow close enough to date in just a couple of months. I have never seen you guys talk when we hung out with him and Nino. Never!”
“It’s…. It’s complicated.”
“What’s so complicated? You manage to finally date the guy of your dreams, some fucking how, and you don’t bother telling me. It really makes me question how you see our friendship.” Alya’s voice cracked as she yelled. She was straining her voice, but her anger pushed through it.
Marinette was unbelievably confused and hurt. Anything she said would not be enough to make Alya happy. She thought about Adrien and Nino. What happened to have made Adrien tell Nino? She thought she could trust him. She thought that they were in this together. Marinette’s anger that was sitting in her chest pushed through her veins and she began to tremble. She was tremendously mad at herself for ever allowing herself to reveal her alter ego to Adrien. It created nothing but chaos.
An image of Adrien playing the piano by her side flashed in her mind and she felt her chest tighten. It created nothing but chaos and memories that now she will never know how to let go.
Her skin was hot and prickled. She was incredibly mad at Adrien, but didn’t know what to do about it.
“I don’t even know if I could ever trust you again!” Alya spat. She eyed a very distant Marinette up and down before heading to her room. She slammed the door, and the framed picture of the roommates on the wall shook.
Marinette felt all her muscles tense up. Alya could no longer trust her, and she wasn’t sure if she could trust Adrien.
She chucked her sketches and pencils on the kitchen table before grabbing her keys, phone and jacket. Tikki snuck out from behind the couch and trailed closely behind Marinette as she kicked on her converse and out the door.
She hurried down the stairs, her coat hanging off one of her shoulders. Tikki whispered things to her, trying to comfort her, but Marinette was too enthralled in her haze of fury to listen to her kwami.
Marinette hid in the infamous alley next to her apartment and pressed her back on the cool bricked side. She was breathing too fast and hard. She attempted to slow her pants, but her mind kept whirling around what had just happened. She pulled out her phone. She had texts from both Nino and Adrien, and numerous missed calls from the latter.
“Tikki,”
“Marinette, I think you shou-“
“Spots on,”
The young girl transformed into Ladybug. She pulled herself up on the rooftop. The wind bit her cheeks as she started running. She swung from building to building. She needed to find him, and she knew where she would.
In her resentment, she arrived to Adrien’s apartment in what felt like minutes. Her vision blurred at the corners as she attempted once again to steady her breaths. What was she going to say to him?
She swung to his balcony, but the door was opened. She turned around as she heard the familiar clink of her partner’s baton on a rooftop in the distance. She twirled and aimed her yoyo in his direction. It looped around his waist and pulled him back.
Chat Noir went crashing down on the nearest building roof. She heard him groan and she made her way to him, leaping in the air skillfully. Maybe she was too rough with him, she thought. Her heart clenched at the thought of him being sore but she shook her head, remembering the deceit and broken trust. She landed on the same building as her partner.
Chat Noir scrambled to his feet and pulled the yoyo away from his body. He gave it a hard yank, pulling Marinette towards him faster. She ran along with the tug on the tiled surface, glaring at him from the other side.
“Marinette,” he said, his expression was pained.
“Why?!” She yelled.
Adrien as Chat winced, “I didn’t mean to, I promise!”
“Then how does Nino know? How does Alya know?”
“It was all an accident! None of this was supposed to happen!” Chat let go of the yoyo, and Marinette reeled it back in. “They know now. There’s nothing we can do. Marinette, this might even be better for us.”
“Better for us?!” Ladybug shouted. “Alya already started asking me questions! I knew this was a bad idea! I knew all of this was a bad idea!” She buried her face in her hands.
Chat slowly approached her, reaching out to her. She looked up and turned away. “I thought I could trust you.”
“It was an accident. I didn’t even know I told him,” The blond boy’s eyes were pleading at her to understand.
“What happened then?” Marinette said between her teeth.
Just as he began to explain, a giant glowing purple beam shot up into the sky. It opened wide into a screen, the projection of a masked villain sneered down at the city. It was Lady Wifi.
The heroes gasped. Marinette had left in such a hurry, she failed to remember the vulnerable state she left Alya in. Marinette felt everything inside her crumble as she felt to protect her friend.
“Hello citizens of Paris,” Lady Wifi’s voice boomed into the air. “Have I got a great new scoop for you? What do you get when you ruin a model and your lying best friend? We’ll find out soon. Stay connected.”
“Fuck,” Chat Noir mumbled under his breath. Not only was this was not the sort of attention he needed to get before his trip to Milan, but Alya was akumatized again.
“Oh my God,” I messed up. Marinette was overwhelmed.
She knew revealing their identities could end up hurting someone she loved. She knew… and it resulted with her best friend getting akumatized again, because of her.

Top 5 Most Elegant Football Players
I found football's publicity or any type of group activities for example. However, once I was in Major & Secondary School I attempted to want to consider basketball for a time, simply to observe what the fuss was all about. Certainly, I understood why people could get so annoyed & passionate about this or what was so awesome of a couple of people pursuing a ball across a field. Used to do however see that which was brilliant of a couple of attractive & modern people. ??
With basketball year beginning this month (first match commences July 8th!), I dedicated this article towards the footballers that not merely seem great to the field but also take their visual appearance, appeal & style to some complete additional amount once-off job.
