I didn’t know I could love Turbo Dog more. @theyogatriangle helps me to feel the pushing away action with the hands so that I can feel my upper back and chest open and strengthen. Why the triangles under the feet, you may wonder? Well, some people cannot put their heels on the ground for a myriad of reasons. Maybe it’s because of tight hips, hamstrings, calves, or ankles. Maybe it’s not because of any problem at all! Regardless of the reason, the triangles operatively “raise the floor” to meet the heels. Once the heels have the support, there is greater opportunity to lengthen the spine and free the hips in Turbo Dog. I’ve seen sooooo many people - including myself 🙋🏻‍♀️- hunch the lower back and overtuck the tailbone in an effort to get the heels down onto the floor. This positioning isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But I’m interested in getting curious about my habits and like to try out new things so that I have more choices to work with my body. If you don’t have access to the triangles, you can tilt regular yoga blocks against the baseboard of the wall for the hands. For the feet, roll up a yoga mat or blanket, and place under the heels. And fyi, no one is paying me to post this. I really appreciate @theyogatriangle for enhancing my practice. Amanda Field, a fellow yoga teacher down here in Houston, invented them!! How cool is that? #iloveyogaprops #forrestyoga #turbodog https://www.instagram.com/p/B4RONLVgfIa/?igshid=1587itjskncn7
