However once you get closer to them you can start to see the true them underneath all of that. A creative, socially awkward, dork.
Brief Backstory: Immanuel was born to kill. That is their purpose according to heaven. Their goal from the moment they were made was to kill the Antichrist by any means necessary. And Immanuel became a perfect killing machine, cold, calculating, being able to manipulate anyone who got in their way. They were punished and trained relentlessly throughout their entire childhood.
However, Heaven didn’t take into account what would happen when Immanuel was able to step out into the world and see what it’s really like. Less destruction at every corner and more beautiful. And when Immanuel met Michael it was even more of a shock to him that Michael was not a soul sucking evil monster but just, a guy.
Immanuel was able to escape from heavens grasp and began to heal and grow with their new family.

A Short Guide To A Seafood Restaurant
A seafood restaurant is a type of eatery that offers dishes made from fish and shellfish. These restaurants range from casual to high-end and cater to a variety of types of customers.
The quality of the food is the first priority when it comes to seafood restaurants. They should use fresh ingredients and great recipes to come up with a good dish.
1. What is a seafood restaurant?
A seafood restaurant is a type of restaurant that specializes in dishes that include fish or shellfish. The menu may also contain non-seafood items, such as chicken and beef.
The seafood restaurant is a popular dining destination in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. They must be upscale, family-friendly or casual eateries. The best seafood restaurants are known for their quality food and service.
A good seafood restaurant should offer a variety of fish and shellfish selections, including the freshest possible product and an array of sides. A comprehensive fish selection will help you differentiate yourself from your competition and build customer loyalty. The restaurant also should have a clean and organized kitchen and dining area. The staff should also be well-trained and courteous, especially during rush periods. The restaurant should also have a solid marketing plan to attract new customers and encourage repeat business. The best seafood restaurants will also feature a range of beverage options, including wines and spirits.
2. What are the objectives of a seafood restaurant?
A seafood restaurant focuses on serving customers with high-quality food products. They rely on loyal customers to grow their business and reinvest profits in expanding their product lines.
They also try to keep their overhead costs low by limiting maintenance and repair expenses. To increase foot traffic, they run promotions and discounts on menu items.
In addition, they focus on establishing relationships with local fisheries and creating menus that reflect diverse global cuisines. They typically offer "wave-to-table" selections that change with the day's catch.
Sustainable fishing practices are a top priority among diners, who are increasingly concerned about the impact of overfishing and other practices that can threaten the sustainability of wild species. These practices require that the fish be harvested in a way that is renewable and cannot jeopardize its ecosystem or future population.
Seafood restaurants often use fresh fish, which should be firm and have shiny skin. The quality of the fish should be monitored by owners and managers to ensure that it meets expectations. Health benefits of seafood are immense.
3. What are the challenges of a seafood restaurant?
The most significant challenge of a seafood restaurant is to maintain the quality and freshness of its products. Food quality is often determined by suppliers, so it is important for restaurants to choose them carefully.
Another challenge is that seafood is highly perishable and requires special handling and refrigerated storage. This is especially true for fin fish like tuna and oysters, which should be tightly wrapped to prevent them from oxidizing.
Finally, the availability of seafood is constantly shifting, so a restaurant must be knowledgeable about its sources and be able to provide customers with detailed sourcing information.
This information includes how the fish was caught and whether it was farmed sustainably. It also means tracking the product throughout its lifecycle, which is a challenging task.
4. How do you start a seafood restaurant?
Starting a seafood restaurant can be a fun and rewarding venture. However, it also requires careful planning and effort.
Start by defining your concept, focusing on a specific type of seafood or market. This will help you set your restaurant apart from the competition and attract a loyal customer base.
Another step is to determine your location. Seafood restaurants do well when located near water including oceans, rivers and lakes. They also do better in pedestrian-heavy areas and near attractions or amusement parks.
The next step is to prepare a business plan and secure investors. This will ensure that your establishment is properly run and prepared to survive any challenges you might face.

9. meeting online au
“Bucky, if you don’t stop calling him a catfish I’m gonna tell Nat you’re the one who put tuna in her shoes last month,” Steve says, not looking up from his phone.
Bucky pauses, hand hovering above Steve’s plate of fries. “Why would you order my execution like that?”
“She still glares at Clint every time she puts on her sneakers.”
“Yeah, well he deserves it after he covered my entire arm with Hello Kitty magnets,” Bucky says, stuffing more of Steve’s fries in his mouth.
“I personally feel like it really captured your soul,” Steve tells him, glancing up from his phone briefly.
“Alright, that’s it!” Bucky exclaims, lunging across the table and grabbing Steve’s phone out of his hands.
“Hey! Buck, don’t-”
“Look, it’s been like 2 months since you’ve started talking to this dude and he won’t give you a last name or socials or even a picture and he’s never suggested meeting even though he’s in the goddamn area, but he’s got you wrapped around his keypad,” Bucky says, typing out a message. “We’re meeting him, right here, right now.”
“Bucky, give me back my phone,” Steve says, as calm as he can.
“Yeah, I don’t think so,” Bucky tosses him a smirk, the jerk. “You could get it from me, easy. Nah, you want this, you’re just being a little punk about it.”
Steve doesn’t even have it in him to argue the point because Bucky is absolutely a jerk, but he’s a jerk that’s right.
He’s been talking to Tony ever since they connected in an online chat group between the MIT and Harvard students a few months ago and Steve likes to think he knows Tony pretty well by now.
He knows that Tony is pretty much a genius who got early admission into MIT because he built his first robot at 16. He knows that Tony is not a morning person and has a heavy dependency on caffeine. He knows that Tony sometimes forgets to eat when he gets too wrapped up in a project, which is why Steve always texts Tony before he starts eating. He knows that Tony doesn’t like talking about his childhood, but that he adores his mom and never ever brings up his dad.
And Tony in return, knows all sorts of things about Steve.
Yet, they’ve never seen a picture of each other, they’ve never exchanged anything aside from phone numbers. Heck, they don’t even know each other’s last names and Steve sometimes convinces himself that it’s good this way.
They’re not doing anything other than texting each other. They just tell each other about their day, their hopes, their dreams, their biggest fears and sure, maybe there are somethings that Tony knows about Steve that he’d never ever thought he’d reveal to another living soul but that’s only because of how easy it is to talk to Tony -
“OHMYGOD!”
Steve and Bucky both whip their head to the couple sitting at the booth in the corner. They make a cute couple, Steve thinks idly, though his eyes linger on the tan brunette who’s looking down at his phone with wide eyes.
He must feel Steve’s eyes on him though cause he looks up, eyes still wide, and Steve goes red at having been caught before turning back to Bucky.
“Buck, give me back my phone so I can undo whatever damage you’ve caused-”
“Hey! I object- there’s no damage. In fact, you should be thanking me.”
“Oh god- what did you-”
Steve’s phone vibrates in Bucky’s hand. Bucky looks down at it, eyes going round before turning back to the couple. “No frickin’ way,” he says, typing in a message.
Steve glares. “Bucky if you don’t give me back my phone-”
“Steve, shut up. You’re gonna owe me so much, holy shit-”
A shadow falls on their table and Steve looks up to see that brunette from earlier. He’s tugging at the sleeves of his sweater which are giving him sweater paws and Lord that’s cute - “Hi.”
“Uh, hi,” Steve replies, shooting Bucky a confused look.
“How did you already know I was here?” the boy asks and Steve’s brows scrunch together.
“Uh, sorry? I’m - I’m not too sure what you’re-”
“Steve,” Bucky says, smirking over at Steve. “Meet Tony.”
Every muscle in Steve’s body freezes. He doesn’t even think he’s breathing and he gazes up at this pretty brunette with the goddamn bambi eyes and he’s always imagined what Tony looks like from his vague descriptions, but “brown hair, brown eyes and I’m trying to grow a beard but it’s not working,” doesn’t in anyway come close to the image before him.
“How- how did you know it was me?” Tony asks Bucky.
Bucky just grins, brandishing Steve’s phone. “Fate works in mysterious ways.”
“Wait-” he turns to Steve, “It wasn’t you texting? You’re not the one who wanted to meet?”
“Yes I didn’t - I mean I did want - Bucky texted but I’ve been-” Steve gapes, brain still trying to process that this is happening, he’s meeting Tony right now, his Tony, and he can’t form sentences.
He stands, takes a deep breath, “Bucky’s the one who texted you, but I definitely have been wanting to meet. I was gonna suggest getting a cup of coffee, but burgers are a good first date too right?”
Tony’s smile could have lit up the darkest room. “A date?”
“Well, yeah, - if you want, I mean I get that -”
“Alright,” Bucky stands, chair scraping hard against the floor. “I’m gonna leave before I have to witness the rainbow pouring out of your ears.” He claps Steve on the shoulder, “You’re welcome, punk.”
“Thanks, jerk,” Steve says, not taking his eyes off Tony.
“Yeah, I’m gonna leave too,” another voice says, and Steve jumps.
The man Tony had been sitting with comes over, gives Tony a smile then glares at Steve. “My girlfriend knows where to hide bodies,” is all he says to him before walking out after Bucky.
Tony groans, cheeks pink. “Sorry about Rhodey, but I have warned you about him.”
Steve laughs, “Well then I’m sorry about Bucky and I definitely should have warned you about him.”
***
In his best man speech, Bucky takes full credit for getting them together, detailing that first meeting to their guests.
Rhodes on the other hand, in his best man speech, says the credit should go to him for suggesting the diner in the first place.
The both of them argue about it all night until Natasha stuffs tuna puffs in their mouths and tells them to shut it.

Animal Experience Station
Tells more about the research and development process of this project.
Project Description:
We inhabit the same world as animals, but humans all too often dominate their lives and impact their wellbeing immensely. Through daily observation as a city dweller, I noticed that there is far too much cruelty to animals surrounding us.
I hope that this project enables young urbal dwellers to experience the world of animals on a more intuitive level and through doing so create a new form of empathetic emotional bond with them. Whether one is the participant, or merely an onlooker, the project seeks to reduce the sense of 'otherness' that people often place on animals, as well as initiating re-consider the relation between human and animal, continuing a discourse within the field of non-anthropocentric design.
Process video https://youtu.be/tyBySdBgzs0
Inspiration:
I once saw chefs in restaurants making live octopus into dishes in front of diners and even let the diners ‘torture’ the live octopus and eat it. This restaurant in Shanghai is also very famous for this feature.
But this actually reminds me more of the performance death of animals.Humans and animals share this earth, but often treat them like this. :(
Due to this, I do some research on animal performance death in China. The truth is, this kind of news can be seen everywhere, such as hitting a sheep to death in front of diners, or eating live seafood live on a video app.
Though these news,I still remember that once I saw a live fish used as a video material in a shooting scene and was left and ‘tortured’ to death by people.
Also,I drew inspiration of two documentary. ‘Dominion’ By Chris Delforce
‘Racing Extinction’ By Louie Psihoyos
These two documentaries are very real about the harm that humans have caused to farmed animals and endangered animal. The ‘Racing Exhibition’ even predicted that ‘In the next 100 years, 50% of species will disappear. The biggest reason is because of human behavior.’
It leded me to think if we swap the position what will we feel? In that cases ,will we have a better understanding of them and emphasis with them?
In addition to second-hand research, I also conducted some first-hand research. I asked others if they would be able to empathize with animals, and the results showed that people are more inclined to empathize with pets or animals that are close in daily life (pigs/sheep). This instead reminds me of those wild animals, those animals that we rarely come into contact with.
Then,I went to Shanghai Wild Animal Zoo, where people can interact with wild animals and feed them. Now days a lot of urban residents will go here.
However, through observation, I found that as a urbal dwellers, I can only interact with these animals through cages and glass. This phenomenon gave me a deeper thinking about the relationship between urban residents and wild animals.
I also want to use this project to let people know the status of these animals.
Due to this thinking, I decide to do more research about the relationship between human and animal that I want to discuss.
Research
‘Tiger Penis Project’ By Kuang-Yi Ku
https://www.tigerpenisproject.com
I truly think this artist brought tradition Chinese views into the speculative design scene and proposed the use of emerging biotechnology to make artificial animal parts for traditional Chinese medicine. This new hybrid medicine combines Chinese and Western medicine with technology, prevents further destruction of animals and traditional culture, and provides more possibilities for the coexistence of human society and the natural environment.
‘I want delivery a dolphin’ By Ai Hasegawa
https://www.dezeen.com/2013/11/18/i-wanna-deliver-a-dolphin-synthetic-biology-concept-humans-giving-birth-to-food-by-ai-hasegawa/
‘This project approaches the problem of human reproduction in an age of overcrowding, overdevelopment and environmental crisis,’ Hasegawa said. "With potential food shortages and a population of nearly seven billion people, would a woman consider incubating and giving birth to an endangered species such as a shark, tuna or dolphin?"
This speculative and experimental design gives me a deeper thinking about the relationship between humans and animals. I also want to create a special experience to connect humans and animals. This is also about the field of non-anthropocentric design.
‘The School of Looking’ By Denis Connolly and Anne Cleary
http://www.connolly-cleary.com/Home/helmets.html
I was inspired by these artists, who mixed machine, human and animal experience together through a series of helmet designs, not only providing participant with an experience but also creating an interesting experience for on lookers.
Drawing upon this, I imagined a way of bringing people into the world of animals with a playful focus.
Through ‘Design events: on explorations of a nonanthropocentric framework in desig‘ By Li Jönsson, I found the helmet is a special form of speculative design,It's also a form of combining design and audience closer.
‘Song of the Machine’ By SuperfIux
https://superflux.in/index.php/work/song-of-the-machine/#
SuperfIux created a new type of retinal prosthesis, helping the blind to reconnect with the world. The device, in conjunction with an optogenetic retinal process, enables blind people to gain light sensitivity and therefore gain a field of vision.
My design proposal was influenced further through this work. I intend to design a wearable device that could alter our field of vision and create optical experiences which allow people to see the world through the eyes of animals.
‘Simulation is an important mechanism for empathy. Simulation is an ancient function of the human nervous system, which is of great significance in social life and individual development.’
From ‘Embodied simulation phenomena and neural mechanisms in empathy’, Chinese Journal of Clinical Psychology, Sun Yabin, Wang Jinyan, Luo Fei.
The above quote led me to consider whether simulation could be a design tool to connect humans and animals.
Additionally, a TED talk titled ‘How Virtual Reality Can Create the Ultimate Empathy Machine’ By Chris Milk made me reflect on the use of VR as a 'machine' to create simulation and change people's perspectives.
https://www.ted.com/talks/chris_milk_how_virtual_reality_can_create_the_ultimate_empathy_machine
Sorry for the unclear picture quality:(((((
Through this research, I decided to create a simulation visual experience for my audience to help them observe the world of animals and create a connection, with the aim of generating a deeper sense of empathy among humans for the lives on animals.
Though 134 questionnaires, I discovered that people were intensely interested in entering the world of animals. Also, after screening my survey results, I decided on the octopus, eagle, and snake as the animals I wanted to simulate the field of vision of, not only because people are curious about their vision, but also because these three animals represent the species that often be hunted from the ocean, land and the sky.
In addition, these three animals are also suffering some harm caused by humans. For example, in China we will regard snakes as important and drink liquor that made by snake. We do eat octopus raw and treat it as a pleasure. We did have some news about eagles being hunted and killed and they are on the verge of extinction.
‘RGB’ By Carnovsky
https://www.carnovsky.com/RGB.htm
The designer allows visitors to see different graphics through different colors of lighting, thus creating a visual space with a strong sense of experience. The space and the lighting have enhanced the experience. It also led me to think that use different color to change the audience visual experience.
Concept
Through all the research, I have finalized my concept. I am going to build a experience station that contain a series of wearable devices and enviroment to simulate the animal experience. Aiming to allow young urban residents to re-consider the relationship between human and animal, and pay attention to the current state of animals, finally empathize with them through a mixed experience.
Process of Helmets
The octopus can change the shape of its pupil to receive different colors of light.Theoretical source: https://octolab.tv/octopus- vision/
In the beginning, I did not deliberately decide on the shape of the helmet. I pay more attention to how to realize the conversion of visual functions, and I hope I can improve it later.
I even want people to simulate the living conditions of these animals before wearing my helmet, but later I hope that people will wear helmets to communicate and walk in this city in an playful way,I think the project seeks to reduce the sense of 'otherness' that people often place on animals, as well as initiating re-consider the relation between human and animal.
Lenses material:The lens is laser cut and spray-painted on the basis of colored acrylic to simulate the shape and color of the octopus pupil.
The angle of view of the eagle can focus and magnify a very small object with a light red color. Theoretical source:’Vision In Birds’ By Graham R Martin and Daniel Osorio
I tested the effects of magnifying glasses with different magnifications, and I finally chose a 15x magnifying glass, which does not make people feel dizzy but has a magnifying effect.
Lenses material: magnifying glass and translucent paper.
Snakes have very weak eyesight, but they can simulate images through heat sensing and through sensitive other senses.Theoretical source: ‘The Infrared ’Vision’ of Snakes’ By Eric A. Newman and Peter Hartline
Lenses material:At the beginning, I used simple graphics to experience the effects of VR, and the colors were generated according to the visual effects of thermal induction. Finally there will be a dynamic image of a snake in the VR glasses.
User Feedback
I tested these three helmets and got feedback from users and observers.
From the observers point of view, these helmets lack the feeling of three animals, and I need to add some texture and color to them.
From the user’s point of view, the helmet should be more ergonomic, and the use of lenses and helmets will not give people a sufficient sense of experience.
Because the visual effects of these three animals are quite special, I need some other products or environments to watch them in order to provide a better experience. Finally, I decided to make a series of posters.
Process of Poster and Logo
When designing the posters, I used the three primary colors of light (Red/Green/Blue) as the basis and designed patterns based on the visual characteristics of the three animals.
I also left short words on the poster in the form of a diary. For example, when visitors wear the octopus helmet, they can see different words by changing different lenses.
When visitors wear the eagle helmet, they need to use a magnifying glass to see the smaller words.
The snake poster itself has no information. But when visitors put on the snake's helmet, they can see a dynamic video with VR
Video link:https://youtu.be/tBUssmG6YjA
My helmet is mainly based on visual functions and has a role of changing perspectives. So the logo is based on the elements of ’eye’ and ’transition’.
I do some sketches and confirmed the final effect of logo
Second Prototype
Since the materials used in the previous helmet were not stiff enough, I remade it with corrugated paper.
Due to the limitation of the material, I used a better colored spray paint to decorate the helmet, but the finished product was not refined enough, so this became the second model. I pair these prototypes with posters to test the user experience, which will help me when I make the final outcome.
Process of final outcome
I re-adjusted the structure and decoration, using the three primary colors to redesign the color and pattern of the helmet. The pattern is processed in the simplest way according to the lines on the animal body, and the final outcome is performed by laser cutting.
Experience Space, September 5, 2020, Shanghai
You Can See More In Process Video, THX!
User feedback:
1. The helmet is not easy for the user to wear with its current structure, so it needs to be considered more. 2. It would be interesting to get people to interact with each other when they have a helmet on, and it could be good to develop this into a performance and walk out onto the street to get more feedback. 3. More interactive devices can be designed, not just visuals, but other senses could also be incorporated. Currently, the experience of the animal is not strong enough.
Self-refIection:
1. The experience space could be set outdoors, allowing the audience to experience the animals' preferred habitats. 2. AR/VR and other technologies can be used to enhance the visual experience of different animals. So as to give the experiencer a more real experience. 3. Considering the scope and effect of communication, a visual branding system can be designed to integrate the helmet with the packaging and website.

part 1
I wake to Webster licking my nose. Not ready to be awake yet, I push him away and press myself more firmly against the wall and try to get back to sleep. Instead of leaving me alone, Webster bites me on the nose and my entire body jerks back from his sharp little teeth.
“What the hell do you want?!” I hiss. Webster meows quietly and points his nose towards one of the partially broken windows. It’s pitch dark outside and I suddenly understand.
I yank the sleeping bag off of my legs and stuff it back into it’s drawstring bag before shoving it into my pack. I push myself up off of the floor and sling the pack onto my back and grab the produce. Racing outside, I heave a sigh of relief at the sight of my tarp covered bike. I strap the veggie bag to the bike and, instead of starting it up and riding off, roll it out to the main road, just in case any of the government caravan is still lurking around.
Sticking to the shadows, it takes me nearly twenty minutes to reach the other side of town. I didn’t see any sign of the people that had been following me earlier, but I didn’t want to take any chances just in case they had decided to hide like I did.
We started off on the bike again as soon as we hit the edge of town. I do my best to stick to the road, but occasionally stray into the woods that flank it if I hear anyone driving up behind us. I have to take breaks a couple of times a day so I can walk around and eat while allowing the bike to recharge and sleep. We’re able to travel close to a hundred miles a day, and we manage to make pretty good time once we hit New Jersey. Only when we hit upstate New York do we encounter any serious issues.
When we hit Saratoga Springs, the bike begins to overheat. Not wanting to push it so far that a little overheating becomes a catastrophic failure, I pull off to the side of the road and cut the engine. I take this time to allow Webster to hop out of the duffel he’s been confined to for the past five hours and wander for a while. I watch him out of the corner of my eye while I check over the bike.
There isn’t anything specific that I can see without breaking down the bike that could have caused it to overheat. I don’t want to mess with it too much, so I decide to leave it be so it can cool down.
I lean against a nearby tree and dig around in my pack for something to eat. I find a ziplock bag of freeze dried strawberries, picked clean of their seeds, and a bit of jerky from the night before. I mix the last fourth of a packet of tuna with some water and roll the package down so Webster can get to the mixture. I prop the packet up against my leg and refocus on my own meal. Webster trots over and scarfs down his food like there wasn’t anything to begin with. He cleans his paws and licks around his mouth before placing one small paw on my leg and meowing loudly.
“What?” I ask.
He nudges the soggy tuna packet with his nose and mews again.
I shake my head. “No. No more right now. We still have at least twenty miles to go till we hit Albany.”
He makes a soft frustrated noise and turns his back to me. I snort and reach out to scratch his ears.
“Fine, more water to wash out the pouch, but then you’ll have to wait till we stop again for more solid food.”
His ears perk up and he eagerly turns around and watches as I pour more water into the pouch. He sticks his nose in and starts lapping up the tuna water before I’ve even got the lid back on the water bottle. I laugh softly and pop a strawberry into my mouth.
--
I allow myself to doze off for a bit after I’m finished eating. When I wake up the sun is well on it’s way to setting. Webster is curled up on my lap, asleep. I hate to wake him, but we have to get going if we’re to make it to Albany before morning.
“Alright, bub,” I murmur, scooping him with one arm. He makes a tired mewling noise, but doesn’t try to jump from my arm. “We gotta get going.”
Bundling Webster into the duffel, I pack everything back up and start off on the bike once again.
I manage to get about fifteen miles up the road before the bike dies completely. I try to restart the engine, but nothing happens. The engine doesn’t even turn over.
I growl and shift my weight to my left so I can put one foot on the pavement and get off the bike. After safely moving it to the side of the road, I grab the bag of fruits and veggies, sling it over my shoulder, and then kick the bike over, as if that’s a sound way to get revenge on an inanimate object. I scowl at the overturned bike before turning on my heel and walking away. Webster squirms in his duffel bag and meows loudly. Taking this as a sign that he’s had enough time to nap, I unzip the bag the rest of the way and crouch down so he can hop out.
We walk down the road, side by side. I desperately hope that I’ve made it far enough away from the caravan that was following us to safely make the journey on foot. Even if they’re still tailing us, I haven’t got much other choice so I resolve to just keep off of the road when at all possible.
By the time I see any new road signs, we’ve been walking for nearly three hours. Streetlights are few and far between and, when one does crop up the light is simultaneously comforting and altogether too bright. After walking through the light of the first few we passed under, I tried my best to avoid them at all costs.
I try to stick to the trees, but much of the forest was planted in a grid so the trees are very evenly spaced and provide very little cover. Webster is the only one of us who can hide with any ease, as the shrubs reach my knees and he’s not a very big cat.
At about midnight, I notice a single building in the distance. I take a moment to make sure that the coast is clear before stepping back out onto the road and turn towards the building. I’m about three feet away from the underbrush when I hear a loud meow. Turning around, I find that Webster has stayed behind.
“Come on,” I crouch down and hold out a hand to him. “I think I found a place for us to stay for the night.”
He pads out of the shrubbery and sits on the side of the road, staring at me with bright, green eyes. He meows again and refuses to move. I sigh and sit on the cold asphalt.
“Why are you being so stubborn? Everything was going so well up until now, can’t you tough out one night in the mystery building?” He just stares at me and I hang my head in resignation.
A soft paw rests on my knee before I have a lap filled with cat. Webster pushes his nose against my chin and licks it several times. I laugh and push him away. He meows happily when I scratch his chin and jumps out of my lap, trotting off in the direction of the building in the distance, tail held high. I scramble to my feet and hurry to catch up with him.
As we near the building, it becomes clear that it was once a sort of ma and pop diner, The bright facade has faded to a subdued pastel and the neon signs were smashed beyond recognition long ago.
I pause at the front door and Webster brushes up against my leg, I pull the door open and a bell dings somewhere deeper in the diner. Looking around, I can see a fine layer of dust covering everything, but it’s not thick enough for a place that’s been abandoned as long as this one appears to have been from the outside.
I hear a growl from beside me and look down to see Webster with his hackles raised and the fur along his spine prickling up. He’s staring at something in the doorway of the kitchen, When I glance up to investigate, there’s a shock of red before whatever was there is gone. Immediately freaked out, I take a step backward, only to run into someone who wasn’t behind me when I walked in. I open my mouth to say something, but a rag is pressed over my and nose before any sound can come out. I scrabble uselessly at the hand holding the rag and try my best to hold my breath while doing so. I feel my shoulders sag and my defiant body grows heavy. Soon I can’t even support myself and a strong arm wraps around my waist to hold me up.
As my eyelids grow heavy, I watch as a woman with shockingly red hair scoops up Webster. She holds him tight to her chest in spite of his yowling, wriggling and scratching. I lift one heavy art, desperately wanting to help him, but I can’t reach him.
The rag is pulled away from my mouth, only to be replaced with a dark canvas hood that covers my entire head. Any sound and light is muffled and dulled by the fabric. Whatever on the rag kicks in and everything slips away.
--
The feeling of something tightening around my wrists rouses me from the drug induced sleep, and I find it hard to ignore the subtle pounding in my head that it left behind. My eyelids are still heavy and my eyes are dry, but I do my best to force them open. When I’ve just barely managed to pry my lids apart, someone throws cold water in my face, shocking my drowsy system awake. My eyes fly open and I’m left coughing and spluttering.
“What the hell?!” I hiss, blinking water from my eyes.
“Naptime’s over, sweetheart,” they growl.
“And who put me to sleep in the first place?” I mutter. I shake my head in an attempt to get my wet hair out of my face and further clear my vision.
There are two figures in the room. One with red hair, probably the woman I saw earlier. She hasn’t got Webster with her, and I’m not sure whether I should be worried or relieved. The other is standing a short ways away from me. They’re wearing worn jeans and a flannel shirt. Their hair is a dark blond. I assume they’re the one who drugged me earlier. Now that I’m more awake, I realize that they’ve taken everything I brought with me. Even my ka bar sheath is gone from my thigh and my father’s butterfly knife is missing from my pocket.
“Who are you?” the woman asks. Her voice is harsh and pulls me out of my thoughts.
“I could ask the same of you,” I answer. “I thought the diner was abandoned.”
The blond man leans in close to me, squinting, and I lean away as far as the chair I’m stuck in will allow.
“Who are you?” The man repeats the woman’s question.
“Why would I tell you? You’re the one who drugged me and then strapped me to a chair!” I lift my hands from the arms of the chair as best I possibly can and wave them around.
“You broke in.”
“The door was unlocked!”
The woman disappears through a doorway and soon returns with my backpack in hand.
“What’s in here?” She asks.
“Clothing, food and a sleeping bag. I’m backpacking across the country.”
She drops the pack to the linoleum floor and I sigh loudly. She rummages through it, not caring that she’s throwing my socks and underwear halfway across the room. I watch as she pulls the hard drives from the pack and slaps them on the table before diving back in for more. She retrieves my spare batteries and laptop before she looks up again.
“Why do you have S.H.I.E.L.D. tech?” She demands. The man standing in front of me perks up at the name and turns to investigate.
“What do you mean? It’s my laptop. The only thing that’s on it is my journal and a log of daily reports.”
“Reports of what?”
“Why should I tell you? It’s not like you’ve done anything great for me,” I say, scowling at both of them. “You’ve drugged me, stolen my cat, strapped me to a chair and now you’re rifling through my shit! I’m not exactly feeling forthcoming right this moment and there really isn’t any reason why I should be.”
“Sounds like she’s got a death wish,” the man mutters.
“Yeah, well better you kill me than the government thugs who were chasing me a week and a half ago,” I mumble, my eyes trained on my pack.
“You’re wanted by the government?” the woman asks.
I shrug. “I was the last person left at a functional farming station and I destroyed everything before they could get to it. Tends to piss those guys off.”
She snorts. “Wow, sounds like you’ve been living an exciting life.” She folds her arms across her chest and takes several steps forward so she’s standing in front of me, her toes practically touching mine. “Doesn’t explain why you’ve got old S.H.I.E.L.D. tech in your pack.”
I squint at her and tilt my head to the side. “You look familiar.”
She raises her eyebrows, but her expression remains wholly unimpressed. “Do I really.”
“Yeah, you do, actually.” I lean forward slightly and it hits me. “Phil had a picture of you on his desk!”
“Phil?” She asks.
The man behind her turns around and stalks up beside her. “Phil Coulson?”
“Yes, why?”
“You knew Coulson?”
“Yes, I knew him. He was in charge of the church until about four years ago.”
“Was? What happened to him?” the man asks.
“He had cancer and we couldn’t get the tech necessary to help him, so he was dying. He put me in charge eight months before he passed away.”
The man shakes his head. “That can’t be right, he died years before that.” He glances at the woman at his side. “We saw it happen.”
“Well then he must have been a different Phil Coulson, because he was very much alive when I showed up on the church doorstep eight years ago.”
“What’d he look like?”
I shake my head. “I don’t know, five nine? Kept his hair short because he was worried about his receding hairline. Had a really nice smile. He made really bad jokes all the time. Had a really bad habit of making every single person who set foot through our doors feel like part of his family. People liked him.”
“It had to be him, Nat,” the man whispers.
“She could be lying,” she whispers back.
“Yeah, well I’m not, so you can stop whispering about me like I’m not sitting seven inches away from you.” I scowl at him. “You were in the picture too. Looked like the three of you were close.”
“We were,” he says, his expression neutral. “You said you were in charge?”
“Yes, I was.”
“What happened to you being in charge?”
“It’s hard to be in charge of people who have either left or just straight up died. You can’t really be a leader when there’s no one left to lead.”
“Who did you work with when you were in charge, then?” the woman asks.
“A lot of people, actually. If you’re wanting specifics, there was Melinda May, Grant Ward, Fitz and Simmons and Daisy Johnson. There were a few others, but they defected almost as soon as Phil announced I was in charge.” I sigh and flick a lock of drying hair out of my eyes.
“She was as close to being director as anyone could get, Nat.”
“Can you please tell me what you’re talking about?” I ask. “It seems like you know more about this than I do. I don’t even know your names.”
The two exchange looks that speak volumes that I will likely never understand. He frowns and she tilts her head to the side before his shoulders slump and he nods.
“My name is Natasha Romanoff, and this,” She jerks her thumb to the man beside her. “Is Clint barton.”
I shake my head. “Wait, wait, wait. Romanoff and Barton as in the Black Widow and Hawkeye Romanoff and Barton?”
“Yes,” she answers.
“Well that explains why you drugged me,” I say, eyebrows raised in surprise. Clint pulls the knife from his belt and cuts the zip ties from my wrists. I turn my attention to Natasha. “Where’s Webster?”
“Who?”
“My cat, Webster. Where is he?” I repeat.
“You named your cat Webster?” Clint asks.
I shrug. “He’s a smart cat.”
He shakes his head, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Come on,” he says, offering me a hand up. “I’ll take you to him.”

36 Hours in Niseko – The New York Times
Niseko — where the powder is voluminous, après ski happens in onsens (hot springs), and culinary adventures abound — is a popular destination for international travelers. Japow, the nickname for the average 600 inches of powder that arrives from Siberia each winter, is what puts the resort so firmly on the map with skiers and snowboarders. On the north island of Hokkaido, Niseko includes four main separate, but linked, resorts (collectively called Niseko United). Beyond the slopes, the island is renowned for world-class seafood, produce and beef as well as beer, whiskey and even some sake. Its excellent restaurants, from simple noodle bars and laid-back izakayas (Japanese pubs) to fine dining at the Michelin-starred Kamimura, spotlight the island’s bounty. Though often called the Aspen of Asia — and, indeed, Niseko is undergoing a similar luxury building boom — this Japanese resort is forging its own identity, from design to food to culture and wellness scenes.
Friday
1) 1:30 p.m. Artful dining
Perched on the side of a cliff in the Hanazono area, Somoza, a serene gallery and artful restaurant, is housed in a renovated wood kominka (historic farmhouse). A typical thatched roof has been replaced with steel, but its traditional shape still evokes a samurai helmet. Head downstairs to its main gallery where an ongoing exhibition, “Hokkaido Through the Ages,” presents a history lesson while showcasing artifacts from the founder and designer Shouya Grigg’s personal collection. There’s pottery from the island’s ancient Jomon period (from about 10,000 B.C. to 300 B.C.); and a carved kabuto sword stand with deer antlers and other works by the Ainu, people only recently recognized by the government as Japan’s indigenous inhabitants. On the main level are handmade ceramics from Japanese artisans and Mr. Grigg’s minimalist black-and-white photographs of snow, trees, mountains and abstract patterns inspired by nature. (Somoza will open an additional adjacent art gallery this spring.)
Somoza serves some of the most creatively delicious food — inspired takes on Japanese cuisine with Italian influences — in Niseko. Its changing seasonal menus focus on local ingredients, such as duck breast with Kutchan potato, crab and sea urchin consommé, or salmon smoked on-site, all served on beautiful ceramics. Lunch is about 5,000 yen, or about $46. (Also, ask about the restaurant’s matcha tea ceremony.) Sit by its glass windows and gaze onto silver birch, oak and ezo red pine trees. The restaurant offers free transportation from Hanazono for lunch.
2) 5 p.m. Snow-surfing
West of downtown Hirafu village is Gentemstick, the groovy shop of the local legend Taro Tamai, the father of Japanese “snow-surfing.” This Zen-like approach brings snowboarding back to its roots, with the rider using body movements and techniques from surfing to follow the terrain of the mountain. Lining the walls like sculptures are colorful surf boards from Mr. Tamai’s personal collection, and handcrafted snowboards made with bamboo and other woods (88,000 to 162,000 yen). With good surf breaks a short drive away, some locals even ski in the morning, then surf in the afternoon. Purchase a beanie or T-shirt, then head upstairs to the shop’s cozy cafe, art gallery and yoga studio.
3) 6 p.m. Strolling through Hirafu
Hirafu village is Niseko’s cultural heartbeat, brimming with bars and restaurants, food trucks, coffee spots like the Mountain Kiosk Coffee stand, ski shops, condos, boutique hotels and luxury chalets. Drop into Powder Art Gallery for contemporary works by emerging artists from Tokyo, Europe and New York. Stop at Niseko Taproom for local craft beers like Obihiro Kurouto or fruity Onuma Snowdrop I.P.A. Enjoy Hirafu’s organic funkiness before a new massive town center development, called Aruku-zaka Street, comes in the next few years.
4) 7:30 p.m. Dinner on a stick
Yakitori — meat, seafood or vegetables on skewers — is popular throughout Japan, and Bang Bang is a Niseko institution. Reserve bar seats and watch chefs grill over a special charcoal called binchotan, made from oak and valued for its high, clean heat that enhances textures and flavors. From gizzards and heart to neck and feet, almost every part of the chicken’s here, with crispy skin a standout. So are Hokkaido Wagyu beef skewers, Hokkaido crabs and Akkeshi Kakiemon oysters (about 10,000 yen). If you can’t get a reservation, Bang 2 — next door, its more casual eatery — now offers the same menu.
5) 9:30 p.m. Whiskey nights
Down a dimly lit Hirafu side street, people stand in line to pass through an old-fashioned red refrigerator door (an Instagram favorite) plastered with stickers. Dubbed The Fridge, Bar Gyu+, with its cozy speakeasy ambience and candlelit wooden tables, is famous for its old and rare Japanese single-malts, a selection that changes every season. Ask what’s behind the bar for off-the-menu pourings of sought-after whiskeys like Karuizawa or Hanyu, and expect to pay almost 22,000 yen ($201) for some shots. Sip as a D.J. spins vinyl, mostly jazz tunes. Still want to dance? A short walk away is the fun new Powder Room, an upscale club with quality wines and cocktails that feels more Hong Kong than Niseko.
Saturday
6) 8 a.m. Fuel up
In central Hirafu, Green Farm Deli & Cafe roasts its own coffee beans. Fuel up for the slopes over hearty pork hash with poached eggs, or an egg wrap, all from local ingredients, alongside your latte or cappuccino. Breakfast, about 2,000 yen.
7) 9 a.m. Four mountains
One pass offers access to Annupuri, Niseko Village, Grand Hirafu and Hanazono; one day costs 8,000 yen if bought online. (Niseko also participates in the global Mountain Collective and Ikon Pass, season-long lift passes to top worldwide resorts, including Niseko United.) Venture out with an instructor to guide you around the mountains for an overview, or to get tips for powder. Niseko’s slopes offer lots of variety, from beginners to advanced, with the highest elevation only 3,937 feet. Intrepid skiers can go from one resort to the next, beginning at Hanazono and ending at Annupuri. (A free bus can also take you to each base.) At the top of the Niseko gondola, ski to the sleek wooden Lookout Cafe and tuck into a bowl of simple seafood ramen (about 2,000 yen). Trekking up and skiing down the crater of Mount Yotei — a volcano, resembling a smaller Mount Fuji, that looms over Niseko — belongs on your adrenaline bucket list (guide required; contact Rising Sun Guides).
8) 2:30 p.m. Après ski ritual
With Japan’s volcanic landscape, there are ample onsens (geothermal hot springs) in Niseko; taking to the waters at a public bathhouse is both an essential ritual of Japanese culture and part of the ski experience. Join the locals at Yugokorotei, in a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) in Annupuri. Know the Japanese etiquette, such as bringing your own little “modesty towel” and soap to cleanse thoroughly before dipping, naked (no bathing suits allowed), into a communal outdoor pool. Like most onsen, this one is separated by gender. The outdoor pool, under a wood pergola and surrounded by snow and boulders, features mineral water pumped from the base of Mount Annupuri. It may be cold outside, but you’re relaxing your body and soul in about 130 degree Fahrenheit, mineral-rich bubbling water. Folding and placing the towel on your head is a custom. Cost: 1,000 yen.
9) 6 p.m. The art of noodles
Begin at Karabina, an izakaya occupying a small wooden hut at Annupuri’s base (note: this is the last season the restaurant will be open at this location). Shoes off, walk up a few steps to a cozy alcove, sit around a wood-burning stove and sip a local sake. Then walk a stone’s throw away down a pathway to another rustic wood dwelling, Rakuichi. Helmed by Tatsuru Rai, known for his artisan, local buckwheat noodles, this soba master was celebrated on Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations,” and ever since it’s been a hard reservation to get. His wife, Midori, greets diners as they don slippers and sit at a no-frills, 12-seat wooden counter with views of the master at work on a ball of dough. Dinner comes kaiseki-style, a Japanese haute cuisine tasting menu that changes with the seasons. Nine simple dishes with bright flavors are presented on pretty Japanese ceramic plates and lacquer bowls. Order a Hokkaido sake to accompany, for instance, sashimi of sea urchin, toro tuna, smoked scallop and Mr. Rai’s hand-cut soba noodles. Select either cold with tempura vegetables, or hot with duck (an additional 800 yen). Finish with dessert. (Dinner is about 12,000 yen.)
10) 9:30 p.m. Niseko noir
Stop at Toshiro’s for a cocktail created by its bespectacled namesake proprietor and mixologist, celebrated for concoctions like Penicillin, a mix of whiskey, ginger and citrus, with a smoky spin (1,600 yen). Or try a ginger gimlet and a smoked old fashioned with local whiskey. More than 400 bottles sit behind the bar; select a tasting flight, from 3,600 to 45,000 yen.
Sunday
11) 10 a.m. Shrines and temples
Grab a coffee at the Mountain Kiosk Coffee stand or one of the trucks in Hirafu and head to the non-touristy town of Kutchan (about six miles from Hirafu and 20 minutes by cab) where you’ll find the Daibutsuji Buddhist temple, featuring a prayer room with a gold-painted ceiling depicting a dragon shielding a Buddhist elder from a tiger (no charge, book in advance). Be mindful that temples and shrines are places of worship for local residents, as well as places to protect sacred objects. Other area shrines: Kutchan-jinja, where red, green and yellow flags line the simple wood interior; and in Niseko Town stands the small Kaributo-jinja.
12) 1 p.m. Swirl and other milk treats
Hokkaido, Japan’s top dairy-producing region, is recognized for offering the best milk in the country. Milk Kobo, next to the Takahashi working dairy farm in Niseko Village, is noted for hand-milking its cows, and its popular cafe and shop makes desserts and cheeses from the milk. Knock back a banana yogurt drink, which is packaged in a cute little bottle with cows on its label. Don’t miss the cheese tarts and cream puffs.
Lodging
At the nine-room boutique Kimamaya in Hirafu, European alpine design meets Japanese aesthetics. Feel at home sitting around the living-room fireplace, sipping a glass of Burgundy from the owner’s private vineyard. An adjacent restaurant, The Barn, inspired by Hokkaido farm architecture, serves Western and Japanese breakfasts, and for dinner, French-Japanese food using local ingredients; it’s worth eating here even if staying elsewhere. There’s a small spa and two stone soaking tubs. Rates: 22,400 to 55,440 yen for doubles; lofts are 41,440 to 94,080 yen.
Nestled in a picturesque forest, the stunning 15-room Zaborin fuses a traditional ryokan experience with contemporary luxury. Guests relax in Japanese house pajamas, and dinner is an 11-course kaiseki meal of beautifully presented plates, with many foraged local ingredients. Rooms feature indoor and outdoor onsens. Rates start at 75,000 yen.
If you chose the Airbnb route, try to find a property in the vibrant Hirafu area. Here you can easily walk to restaurants and shops, and are near public transportation. Expect to pay around $155 and up for a one bedroom.

Idealist City Guide: BOSTON food, design and style
The beautiful city of Boston is well known for its New England style food, history and accent. Just a short hop from New York on the eastern coast of the United States and famed for its place in New England history, for Harvard, MIT and the Kennedys, Kerouac and countless other famous names, it’s a great place to get a taste of America.
There are many great areas of Boston to enjoy, from the upscale stores downtown, Newbury Street and Back Bay, to the Italian neighbourhood in the North End, Charles Street on Beacon Hill and across the river into Cambridge and Harvard Square. Unlike many American cities, Boston is eminently walkable, although the T transit system is cheap and convenient too.
On our trip, we stayed across the river near Kendall Square, where thanks to MIT there’s a bunch of hotels and AirBnB choices. While in town we recommend visiting the Museum of Fine Arts, Harvard Square, the JFK Museum and if you have time taking a whale-watching trip off the coast.
Today’s tour is focused on great places to visit, shops for unique finds and fun spots to eat and stay.
Boston’s best Galleries & Museums
Boston MFA facade with the Appeal to the Great Spirit monument
Museum of Fine Arts: The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston has a massive comprehensive art collection — over 450,000 pieces, in fact. Exhibits here range from traditional paintings to more abstract images and even films. It’s also a great place for newer fans of art to get a glimpse at some of the various styles and media.
465 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115 (617) 267-9300
Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
Down the road from the MFA and the legacy of Isabella Stewart Gardner, art collector, philanthropist, and art patron, the museum emulates a 15th-century Venetian palace, drawing particular inspiration and houses an art collection of world importance including Titian, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli, Manet, Degas, Whistler and Matisse. It’s also home to exhibitions of contemporary art and many concerts and lectures. Visitors dressed in Boston Red Sox gear get discounted entrance and visitors called Isabella get in for nothing. Go Red Sox! The new wing by Renzo Piano cost a whopping $120 million.
25 Evans Way, Boston, MA 02115
Institute of Contemporary Art: The Institute of Contemporary Art was founded in 1936 to honour and preserve contemporary art. It features unique exhibitions which change regularly, so be sure to check out what they have while you’re in town. This is more of your edgy contemporary art, but the view of the harbour and the building itself are worth the trip alone.
25 Harbor Shore Drive, Boston, MA 02210 (617) 478-3100
Old State House: The Old State House is often considered to be where the American revolution started. It’s the oldest surviving building in Boston, and one of the oldest public buildings in the United States. Visitors can learn about the history of Boston and explore the actual site of the Boston Massacre of 1770.
206 Washington St, Boston, MA 02109 (617) 720-1713
Style Shopping Boston
South End is well known for its well-heeled neighbourhoods, so if you’re looking for home accessories, antiques or unique finds, start your search there. Across the river in Cambridge is the Cambridge Antiques Market (East Cambridge, near Lechmere in what is otherwise not the prettiest of areas) which is a fab spot for vintage interior pieces.
Art and Unique Objects
There are some great places to shop for interesting things to take home, from markets, to art and gift stores, comic book stores and bookshops. We love:
South End Open Market @ SoWa – Every Sunday from May through October, locals and tourists alike flock to the South End for this open market. Tents range from crafts, design, and vintage, to food trucks and farmers’ market.
Shake The Tree – carries handmade jewellery, home goods, stationery, small brand apothecary, craft cocktail supplies + barware, global cookbooks, and baby gifts. Inspired by travels to Paris, the souks in Morocco and the vibrant colours of flower markets in India, owner Marian Klausner has filled the brightly lit space with everything she loves. The store is located in Boston’s historic “North End” Italian waterfront neighborhood, close to the Freedom Trail. 67 Salem Street, North End, Boston 617.742.0484 [email protected]
The stores at the Museum of Fine Art, Institute of Contemporary Art and the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum (listed above). These are all great spots for tasteful stuff you can fit in your suitcase.
Furniture and accessories
Five floors of contemporary style
Located in the historic Sherman Building, Room & Board offers a wide selection of contemporary furniture, from living room and dining room furniture to outdoor sets. And with five floors to shop, there’s a good chance you’ll find something unique that you absolutely love here. We tend not to feature chain stores in our listings, but especially for visitors to Boston, this place is worth a stop.
375 Newbury St, Boston, MA 02115, (617) 351-0020
European Styling
Lekker Home: Even when you’re in Boston, you still see plenty of European influence. Lekker Home uses that inspiration for its selection of European furniture, their mainstay being Dutch furniture. But a great selection of furniture isn’t all you’ll find here — there’s also plenty of great lighting and other accessories.
1313 Washington St, Boston, MA 02118 (617) 542-6464
South American Styling
Diseño Bos: If you’re looking for something a little out of the ordinary, check out Diseño Bos’s selection of South American furniture, accessories and lighting. Frank Campanale, the owner, found inspiration for his store after a month-long holiday in Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile, which still inspires the fur and hide rugs and colourful patterned textiles found in Diseño Bos today.
460 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA 02118 (617) 423-2008
High end Italian styling
IL Décor: A range of stunningly beautiful modern furniture greets visitors of IL Décor, all of it carefully selected from contemporary designers with a unique, stylish take on interiors. And the best part is, IL Décor has almost everything, so you can find the perfect nightstand for your bedroom or give your living room an overhaul.
10 St James Ave, Boston, MA 02116 (617) 580-3443
Vintage modern
Abodeon: Adobeon’s slogan is “A celebration of modern design through the decades,” and it’s a fitting one. Here you’ll find a range of mid-20th century vintage modern furniture and current modern furniture, including unique lighting solutions and chic accessories.
1731 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02138 (617) 497-0137
Award-winning designers
Twelve Chairs: Miggy Mason and Roisin Giese founded Twelve Chairs in 2010 as a result of their combined passion for interiors. After gaining attention on both a local and national level, they moved their store to the historic south end of Boston where they design and sell their unique creations today.
581 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02118 (617) 982-6136
Staying Over
The Inn at St Botolph: The Inn at St Botolph is situated in a historic brownstone building in Boston. It’s a contemporary hotel with a twist — their aim is to make you feel like you’re living in your own fully furnished luxury apartment in the city.

505 Washington St, Boston, MA 02111 (617) 804-2000
Hotel Commonwealth: If you want a great mix of luxury boutique, Hotel Commonwealth is the perfect choice for you. It’s located in Boston’s Back Bay near Fenway Park and has easy access to the subway. It houses a New England-style restaurant and an oyster and cocktail bar, so you can get great food without going out.
500 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA 02215 (617) 933-5000
Food
Oishii: If you love sushi and other authentic Japanese food, Oishii is as good as it gets in Boston. From classics like spicy tempura tuna to more ambitious dishes featuring caviar or wagyu beef, Oishii has something to satisfy everybody. And if you’re not a sushi fan, don’t fret — there are plenty of other entree options.
1166 Washington St #110, Boston, MA 02118 (617) 482-8868
Harvest: Located in Harvard Square, Harvest is a staple of fine dining in Boston and a proponent of farm-to-table ingredients. They cook up all of the Boston staples, from pork loin and lamb to lobster and oysters. If you’re visiting in the summer, try getting a seat in the beautiful garden terrace.
44 Brattle St, Cambridge, MA 02138 (617) 868-2255
Rosebud American Kitchen: It’s always nice to try new foods, and fine dining is great, but sometimes you just can’t beat a classic diner. There’s no overly complicated, ultra-fancy menu here — just comfort food favourites like Korean BBQ sliders, mac ‘n cheese, fried chicken and fish and chips. If you want delicious, no-nonsense food, check out Rosebud.
