OKAY so, I already have something like this sitting in my wips that I add to sometimes (it doubles as a reincarnation au, but I'll leave that bit out here)

Sku.ll Face still comes from a small town in Hungary

His skin isn't burned, and he avoid work in the military

He works as a spy still, just as a corporate one

I like to think he'd still be very anti-imperialist

He would have an actual name but I feel bad enough picking one for him, telling people would be like treason

I can't decide if he's still rocking the cowboy hat and boots but he is wearing a suit for sure

Palmer isn't a surgeon but rather a mortician

They also have a punk/metal/industrial look to them (like me)

They met in a coffee shop

People see them together and think "omg that person is bothering that man- oh wait they're together? nvm"

🌊 Street Urchin Cookie is a rough-looking bike rider who keeps to herself in the alleys of the Cuckoo Town Square. A troublesome group called the Pointy Punks idolizes her as their "boss" (despite her protests against it).

🦑 They are a seclusive Cookie who see's the fall of Sugarteara as something that was inevitable due to their disdain for the underwater city. To them, they were always an outcast from there—understanding the city was always flawed from the start and never was a glorified utopia. Following the events of Sugarteara's ruination, they now reside in Wandercrab, heavily obscured with their incomprehensible mysteriousness.

Sunlit sea☀️ - What nicknames or terms of endearment does your f/o use for you, and which are your favorites?: I think Mavuika would enjoy cycling through all sorts of pet names depending on her mood, from sappy and romantic to goofy. My favorites are "(my) love", "darling", and "princess" 🥰

Cool off 🍹- When was the last time your f/o made you laugh so hard you could cry? (Or vice versa): Lately I've been thinking a lot about Mavuika picking up Carys and spinning her around like this. I think that would never fail to send Carys into a fit of giggles.

Shaved ice 🍧- What are things your f/o does that you find particularly/oddly attractive, that are usually unconventional or perhaps are strange to find attractive? (Or vice versa): Oh gosh I find everything about her attractive lol but I guess maybe her herbo moments from the bulletin board in front of the stadium lol I'm never going to be over these and they made me fall in love with her even more.

Also umm. For some reason I really like the way she walks in this scene lol.

johnny was the singer of a band while he was alive, and although his performances didn’t involve a lot of dancing on stage he definitely knows rhythm because of it. meg on the other hand, has two left feet when it comes to dancing

🎀 — do you have any matching clothes with them? If so, what does it look like?

later on in their relationship johnny directed meg to where his old stuff was stashed away, which included some of his clothes from when he was alive (aka vintage clothing merch of his band too), which meg wears from time to time. so technically by wearing his clothes, they’re matching!

🌠 — if you or your f/o could make one wish come true, what would it be?

it would most likely be for them to be physically together. with johnny living in meg’s head, even if they feel touch with each other it’d essentially just be meg’s brain faking the touch sensations (like a placebo effect? if that makes sense?) it’d be a lot nicer if they could truly be in one another’s presence

Honestly it kinda makes me sad that there isn't a lot of stuff on Kallen around (maybe i'm just not searching in the right place :<), but I just loved and adored her character on first sight ngl. When my friend had first showed me "Thus Spoke Apocalypse", I feel like that was already the start of the downfall because the moment Kallen showed up, I was like "👀? oh? pretty girl? hi? hello?" and then I found out she dies so ASLDJFALSKJH

Of course! I didn't get a chance to really get to know her until I picked up Elan Palatinus AND SHES JUST SOOOOO COOL I'm particularly weak for characters that act like Robin Hoods, and her story in Elan Palatinus is kinda like that, trying to protect the weak + fighting against the corrupted church that she had vowed to fight for. I think it's also interesting too that this has been a childhood dream with her childhood friend to "save the world!!" but the more she grows up, the more the dream starts to get strained, and she finds herself questioning it a bit more, but she's bound to her oath to protect and I just alskdjfaldh

Kallen also runs away from the church after stealing some big secret they had been hiding - some powerful weapon of sorts - and it's so wild to me that despite being a traitor in the church's eyes, somewhere down the line of history, you'll wind up seeing that Kallen gets called "Saint Kallen," probably thanks to Otto being the leader of the church (Otto being her friend). The girl that no longer wanted anything to do with the church now being revered as a saint for the same church for her sacrifice later. She never asked for that. I don't think she'd want that, the same way that she probably never wanted Otto to revive her later.

ANYWAYS, on that note: Yae village arc! So at least to me, when I was getting into HI3rd and reading in the recommended reading order, the way that I have Kallen in my head was that by the end of Elan Palatinus, she swore to continue on her lonely path of the Kaslana oath -- that she must always walk alone in order to protect humanity because no one else could ever shoulder this burden but her. Being betrayed by her friend, it's hard to trust anyone/rely on anyone else to do it (at least that's the way I read it but it's been a bit so that might be obscured). So to me, I think Kallen was very much stuck in this idea that she must be the only one to bear this weight to save humanity, and that plays into how I interpret a lot of Kallen and Sakura's interactions. Maybe it's also because I can't understand love at first sight as someone who is on the arospectrum, but Kallen wanting to fight alongside Sakura so Sakura is not alone, the way my brain seemed to register it as, "Is Kallen saying this because she cares for Sakura as a person? Or is this part of the Kaslana oath that she had sworn herself to?" So there's a little bit of balancing between true affection vs obligations to duty when it comes to Kallen's feelings towards Sakura (in my perspective - i'm stressing on this bc i'm anxious forgive me asldfjh). But by the end of the arc, I think Kallen turns around and actually realizes her own feelings towards Sakura in the end, but she's still dutybound and she must protect everyone, even if it means sacrificing (or well not sacrificing but locking away) Sakura in order to do so.... It's just,,, really tragic and it's just 😭😭😭😭Man......

Anyways, Kallen!! I love Kallen. I also love Kallen and Sakura. I have my own thoughts regarding Sakura's feelings towards Kallen but this was just meant to be a Kallen brainrot post myeheh <3

Palmer, especially if we're talking purely verbal apologies. Sk.ull Fa.ce already struggles with being earnest in his words, and admitting he was wrong is a tough one. Anger tends to fuel his harsh words and actions and boy does anger tend to feel righteous. When he does come to terms with it, eventually, he tends to apologize in other ways, such as taking care of a chore Palmer hates.

Palmer: Don't assume what your partner is thinking.

Sk.ull Fa.ce: Seconded, and if you're partner does care for you, you can trust them with everything.

Ngl I have so many s/is it's hard to pick just one but I think I'll talk about my F.inal F.antasy 8 s/i!

1. What are the basics of your self insert? name, date of birth, height, etc.?

This one is easy since all my inserts share the same basics! Their name is Panchi (Last name is unknown but in present day they have Laguna's last name "Loire") and they're pretty short, only 5'0"

4. Would you be considered a main character, side character, villain, or something else?

I would consider them a side character, an important side character since they're Squall's parent, but a side character nonetheless. They have about the same amount of screentime that Laguna has, maybe a little less. Which is fine by me because in the little screen time they do have, it's very clear that they are Squall's parent (They share quite a lot of traits, both in terms of appearance and personality)

9. Who are your self insert’s closest friends?

Kiros and Ward! They've all been through a lot together so it's hard to not become close friends after that-afjsnfnd The two definitely comment on how similar Squall and Panchi are!

ant - do they live together? if so, what's their shared living space like? if they live apart, do they have any keepsakes that remind them of the other?

this is a bit of a unique situation, but johnny silverhand lives in meg’s head! following the lore of the game, johnny is a chip put into her head, and he can appear to her and only her, as well as speak in their head, basically sharing their body. it’s def weird. so no need for keepsakes, in fact johnny can’t really own any of his own things. johnny may “interact” with the environment by sitting on top of things within meg’s vision, but he’s not able to like, touch anything. he may make comments on meg’s living space though.

wasp - who has the higher pain tolerance? how do they look after each other when one is sick? who's the better caretaker?

meg has the higher pain tolerance, and johnny comes to find this out once they share a body. i love the idea that with johnny sharing a body with an afab person, he gets to experience period pains for the first time and all the symptoms, and he’s like “holy FUCK” and so unable to handle it, and honestly a little afraid of the fact that meg can just go about her day.

johnny can’t get sick, and can’t exactly take care of meg, but i think he’d express sympathies in his own ways and maybe try and encourage her to take care of herself, try and motivate them to drink more water.

spider - what scares them? do they share the same phobias? how do they help each other deal with fear?

i think johnny fears irrelevance, or being forgotten. luckily for him, the present day of the world still remembers his name and what he’s done, and with him living in meg’s head he definitely can’t be forgotten by everyone. meg fears losing her body autonomy, whether that be through somehow getting cyberpsychosis or some thugs in night city torturing her or killing her; basically she wants complete control of her own body and her own story. i could imagine a situation where if meg comes close to losing said control through any of those ways, maybe johnny takes control of her body to fight it off and hand it back over to her? (actually that’d make a great fic idea)
