ok but have we ever thought of jealous Amir?? like we’ve seen Rupert and a peek into his jealousy when they met lorelai but what about Amir realizing how many ladies are obsessed with Rupert when they first get together?? Rupert is a heartthrob in the West and i feel like we forget that a lot

Ok so, I’m pretty sure most of the girls that liked/wanted to marry Rupert went along to fight the dragon

Therefore, most of them would have been told that Rupert was marrying Amir pretty much straight away

And I would hope that a lot of them would respectfully step back and be happy for him

HOWEVER

There are bound to be some who hadn’t found out yet and maybe only heard that Rupert has saved the kingdom and used this knowledge to compliment him even more than usual

So, after breaking the curse, Rupert takes Amir back to the Western kingdom to show him round and to meet the citizens

And they’re wondering through the market, admiring fabrics and jewellery that people have made, when a girl comes up to Rupert and starts thanking him for saving the kingdom

Rupert’s kinda oblivious to the flirting (because he always has been) but Amir notices the way the girl touches Rupert’s arm, or bats her eyelids, or laughs at every small thing he says

So he reaches for Rupert’s hand, getting his attention, and Rupert finishes his conversation with the girl and they leave

Amir doesn’t let go of Rupert’s hand for the rest of the tour

Things like this happen over the next few weeks and every time, Amir will grab Rupert’s hand, or put his arm around Rupert’s shoulder, or announce they have somewhere to be and kisses Rupert the next time they’re hidden from view

Eventually the girls get the message and it becomes a less frequent occurrence

The boys, however, still like to test the limits

One day, Amir comes out of a meeting with his mother and her advisers, and finds Rupert learning how use a sword with one of the young knights

He watches from a distance as the two men make harmless jabs (both literal and figurative) at each other, pausing every now and again so the knight can show Rupert how to hold the sword

At one point, the knight moves behind Rupert, wrapping his arms over Rupert’s and guiding him as he moves the sword through the air

This sends an anger through Amir that feels different from any anger he’s felt before

So he chooses that moment to walk down to meet his fiancé

“Actually, I know a better way to do it” he says, and gestures for the knight to move to the side, away from Rupert

Amir then takes the knight’s place behind Rupert, arms over arms and whispers “Morning dear” into his ear

At that, Rupert grins, turning his head to see his soon-to-be husband’s face

They kiss, and Rupert drops his sword as he turns in Amir’s arms

The knight mutters something about leaving them to it, and returns to his duties elsewhere

This pattern continues, Amir often finding Rupert laughing or training with different knights, or receiving anonymous gifts on every occasion, and Amir will get angry, but then he’ll snuggle up to Rupert and all will be forgotten

Eventually, after the 50th random gift, Rupert has noticed Amir’s behaviour, and sees him pouting as soon as he enters the room

Rupert sits Amir down and asks him what’s wrong

They talk, and realize Amir has been jealous the whole time, though Rupert tells him he has no reason to be

He only has eyes for Amir

A little reverse-Prince UA for The Two Princes where Prince Rupert is raised like Amir and Amir is raised like Rupert BUT THIS MEANS

-Rupert is still really bad at things but now he is more keenly aware of everything he’s bad at. They’ve become known-unknowns. He can still barely swing a sword, in spite of all the tutoring

-which means he and Lavinia are both super stressed out all the time

-Rupert leaves the castle a month early just to give himself a leg up by putting his few skills into practice. Maybe if he can rig up a few tricks he can win and break the curse

-Except the forest still messes with him and delays him like it did Amir in canon. So by the time his birthday is near, he’s stressed out of his gourd, half-feral and basically jumps Amir in sight

-Amir is sick of parties but he holes up in the library reading books and daydreaming of camping out with his father.

-When the forest comes for him, he runs away just to get out of the castle.

-then he’s attacked by this gremlin-looking Westerner and they both fall in the mushrooms

-Rupert falls for Flora’s offer but Amir snaps out first, taking Rupert’s sword and freeing them both.

-even though it’s the first time he’s ever held a sword he’s surprisingly good at it and they escape.

-Rupert still lies about his identity, but his story of living in the forest is more credible, given the state he’s in after a month in the forest.

-Amir tries to put on a competent face, rattling off the feel-good list of “achievement/titles” his mother gave him every time he thought he was just a doll in fancy clothes.

-They end up in the Hatchery and geek out over the dragon egg. They trade facts they’ve learned from the stories and histories they’ve read. They’re both super on board when Porridge hatches and they escape the cave with their new baby dragon.

-When caught by Barabbas and Co, Rupert once again leads the improv reversal but nearly botched it when he tries to be intimidating. Amir steps up with his game face and convinces Barabbas and Co that he WILL end them at the slightest notice.

-In the quicksand, Rupert is actually the one saying that quicksand doesn’t exist/isn’t as bad AS HE SINKS IN and Amir realizes he’s not playing after he goes under.

-The Waterfall scene Amir admits to Rupert he doesn’t know what he’s doing, but Rupert admits that he knows what he’s doing but can’t do it right and at least Amir knows he doesn’t know things. They start a pity party of who has it worse but Rupert finally admits his prince-hood and what the prophecy means for them both and Amir runs away.

-Amir runs into Arachne first and learns about the prophecy fully. He is miserable and doesn’t want to kill Rupert so he tells Arachne to eat him.

-Rupert saves Amir in an act of competence neither boy expects. It’s literally the first thing he’s done right and it only works because he goes absolutely feral and swings a torch around.

-The maze of thorns opens up as they’re sharing their last thoughts with each other.

-Rupert hears his father admit to torturing him in the forest to delay him and he goes crazy, getting restrained before he can chop both dad-trees down.

-When they finally agree to the death match, the fight is fairly even. Amir has good instincts but basically no fundamentals or technique. Rupert is good at evading but basically can’t go on offense because of how unpredictable Amir is.

-Finally, they both end up losing their swords and neither wants to go get them or start fist fighting.

-Rupert finally grabs Amir by the shirt front and tells him he loves him and he HAS to be the one to win because Rupert KNOWS he’s “not good at being a prince”

-Amir flatly refuses, realizes that Rupert just confessed to him and smacks his own forehead. As Rupert looks on in concern, Amir laughs himself silly before confessing his feelings. Rupert pulls him into their first kiss and the world is saved by two halves of a whole idiot.

TTP beach episode bc all I yearn for is an episode with not plot. Let me explain

During a diplomacy trip to the Southern Kingdom, Rupert, Amir, Joan, and Cecily, go to visit the Southern Shores (known for their unique pink sand and blue oceans)

Rupert is like, scarily good at building sand castles and builds an exact replica of the Heartland Castle. This is because Lavinia used to take Rupert to her parent’s manor when he was younger and they would play at the lake. Rupert didn’t have many friends so ... sand people! Sand houses! Sand villages! He takes requests from the gang

Amir gets stung by a giant jellyfish (who apologizes, he’s from out of town) and Rupert goes on high alert and over reactions

“Ohhhhh my god Amir you’re going to DIE!”

Joan teaches Cecily to surf, and Cecily is terrifyingly good at it. She does all sorts of eccentric poses as she rides the waves.

Amir + Cecily vs. Rupert + Joan beach volleyball. Team RJ wins, because Joan exploited the weakness in Cecily’s left ankle Azula style.

At one point it begins raining and they have to shelter in a cave. Amir freaks out because A) Cave (they have a horrible track record with caves) and B) storms (also not a good track record)

Rupert helps calm him down by holding his hand. It’s very tender

Eventually the rain subsides and Joan and Cecily head back to the southern castle

Amir very awkwardly suggests they he and Rupert go on a walk. The entire time it’s tense and quiet and Rupert wonders if Amir is mad when all of a sudden-

They stumble on the ant infested, water logged remains of a romantic dinner getaway. A raccoon scampers away with a handful of wet bread.

Amir gets really upset because it’s ruined, he feels embarrassed because he’s not great at huge romantic gestures like Rupert and wanted this desperately to go right. He suggests they catch up with the others when Rupert interrupts him

There’s a really beautiful sunset and they have the perfect view

They sit on the damp sand, leaning on each other as they watch the waves crash against the rocks ahead of them. The spray lands on Amir’s face and is illuminated by the sunlight to create a golden freckle effect

Rupert tells Amir he loves him, and even if this day wasn’t all Amir planned he wouldn’t change it for the world. And for the record, Amir is GREAT at romantic gestures. Just last week while Amir was at a meeting with western nobility, he arranged for Rupert’s favorite eastern desert be delivered to their room.

They kiss and it’s very soft. That’s it episode ends plot begins episode 2 this time

Guys! I’m making Two Princes BINGO cards. I think it would be fun to play when listening to Season 2 when it comes out in December 😍 hit me up with your suggestions of what to put on there! Spoilers for season two:

Rupert from the two princes is absolutely a stereotypical DND bard. I mean in season one the only battle he’s really in is in the hollow and gets out of that useing suduction. (Flora doesn’t count since because from what I understand by DnD terms she used magic to make her opponent not be able to have a turn and Barabus didn’t battle him only captured them plus I’m like 99% sure deception is a charisma stat.) In the second season there are three major times times when what’s happening could be described as a battle. Number one beginning Malikia is basically a final boss so the only option was to run but it should be noted that he try to persuade/inspire (inspiration is a bard only move that sort of just magically helps your allies from what I understand)Amir not to take her offer but was ignored plus you can’t suduce ghosts. The second when Percy jr. attacks at the sirens’ area of water he tackles to birds with basically one stone he moves to defend the sirens inspiring them to give them their song and Chad/Amir to come and help him. The third and final battle is in fact the actual final battle but the proof comes from before that because if it weren’t for Rupert accepting Amir’s/Chads choice to not be with him after inspiring him to live his best life and rolling one last ditch suduction throw (the whole “no matter what you choose to do, just know I still love you and I always will” speech) even after failing all of his other attempts than Amir/Chad wouldn’t have been inspired to try and be the person Rupert wants him to be and you know pull a 180 from neutral, to enemy, to ally. Amir/Chad is a multi-classer with a fighter/monk combo because fighters can use any weapon you can think of really well and monks are non magic(I am pretty sure), religious, punchy kicky folks. I also feel like Amir mostly took advantage of his fighter class he didn’t need his hand to hand combat training because the ‘battle’ in the hollow was a sword fight but he still had the skill so still technically multiple classes. Meanwhile Chad mainly took advantage of the monk class because I know he punches at least one person (if I remember correctly) and uses intimidation which is a stat that I’m pretty sure is buffed automatically a little by both fighter and monk. Fighter and monk have like a slight buff on like every stat exsept intelligence, wisdom, and charisma. But that is because those are the stats for spell casting and spell casters generally have lower stats on constitution (how well you can take a hit), health, and strength (how hard you can hit) which is very Rupert and bards are technically a spell casting class, so. Monks and fighters are non spell casters and non spell casters generally have lower stats on intelligence (how many spells and cantrips (kind of like a chant that is not magic enough to do something major but does have enough magic to rather customize a spell or lightly buff a stat with a few exceptions) you know/can learn), wisdom(how well you can preform spells and cantrips as well as when to use them), and charisma (how many times you can cast a spell/ amount of spells you can have ready to throw during battle (spell slot number), gives access to magic in general, and how convincing you are) which let’s be honest if either of them is less likely to have spent more time on fighting technique then how to say convince someone to help you find your way if you were lost than it would be Amir/Chad plus all the parties Rupert probably had to attend his charisma stat is probably really high. Anyway just like the boys spell casters are strong I. The areas that non spell casters are not and vise versa. This is why a balanced party will have both casters and non casters.

- Porridge annoys Granola sometimes, so he flies just high enough above him so that Granola can’t get him back

- Porridge’s hoard gets too big too quickly so he chooses some things to give back to Granola to start his own hoard

- When Porridge is busy transporting Rupert and Amir or doing other royal business, Granola gets really sad so Cecily made a little toy Porridge that can keep him company

The real question is though, does Porridge like granola (the food) and does Granola like porridge (the food)?

- porridge hates baths but his best friend granola loves em, so it’s give and take relationship

- granola loves granola but hates the raisins in them, so whenever they buy some they have a new job removing them out

- porridge loves naps

- granola loves them too

-cuddle buddies 👀

- sometimes after working for a long time they’ll take naps in the breakroom

- jecily and rumir are actually so powerful and like they’re so close

- best friends all together, Joan and cecily, they’ve even got a special wing dedicated to them, and their adoptive children will be nobility just below the royal family

- granola is kinda iconic, he’s got a fan club

hc that since there was no official rumir proposal there’s a running joke at that starts at the reception where Rupert and Amir find more silly and over the top proposals that eventually bleeds into an anniversary tradition where every year they propose to each other again.

I love this!

Ok so, Rupert and Amir get married, they’re having fun dancing and talking to the guests

Then someone asks which one of them proposed

And they realise that neither of them did because it was just kinda an unspoken agreement

Anyway, later that night, Amir decides to just straight up propose in the middle of the dance floor

Your traditional heartfelt speech followed by getting down on one knee and popping the question

Rupert’s a little confused but goes with it and says yes excitedly and they kiss

And all the guests are just kinda happily confused and they cheer a bit and the night continues

But secretly, Rupert’s annoyed that Amir thought of doing that before him

And he decides he wanted to be the one to propose

So he sneaks off and returns without many people noticing

Later on, as the night comes to a close, the boys make their way back to their room...

...and Amir finds the room, and the bed, covered in rose petals, some of which spell out “marry me?”

And he just laughs and kisses Rupert and they’re happy and that’s it for a while

THEN, almost a year later, they’re hanging out with Joan and Cecily and Cecily says “hey remember when you two proposed to each other on your wedding night?”

And they’re like “oh yeah” *plotting begins*

Their anniversary arrives and Rupert takes Amie into the forest for a picnic

And when they get there, Fitzroy’s sat on the blanket with a sign round his neck saying “Will you marry my dad?”

And Amir’s stood there dumbfounded but he also thinks it’s really sweet so says yes and pulls Rupert in for a kiss

Then Porridge appears with another sign round his neck which says something like “Yay! My mama’s are getting married!” And there are a couple of rings on the string

As they’re putting the rings on, they hear Atossa’s Phoenix overhead

Rupert looks up and sees a message trailing behind it

“RUPERT, WILL YOU MARRY ME?” in big letters

They laugh and kiss and enjoy their picnic

Other proposal ideas they use in the next few years (in no particular order):

Fire writing (Amir)

“Rupert’s in danger” - Amir finds him and unties him - Rupert’s holding flowers and chocolate (Rupert)

Jumping off a waterfall and emerging with a ring (Amir)

Treasure hunt will little clues and notes that ends in the throne room with a big banner (Rupert)

Getting kidnapped by Barrabas who says he’ll only let them go if they agree to marry each other (Amir)

Serenading from below the bedroom window (Amir)

Using a whole orchestra to serenade (Rupert)

Hey I’m sorry to bother you but I’ve been feeling a little bummed recently and I love ur rumir head cannons so much so I was just wondering if you have any soft or sweet ones your willing to share ?

Ok so, we all know Rupert is a dog person because a) Fitzroy and b) Porridge (because he acts like a dog)

And I like to think that Amir gets on well enough with both Porridge and Fitzroy

But imagine this:

Amir finds a stray kitten and absolutely MELTS

Perhaps he and Rupert are out on their daily walk and he spots it and immediately runs over to try and coax it out of its hiding place

And he’s making all these cute mushy noises (like people do with babies) while Rupert just stands there hella confused

And eventually the kitten comes out and sniffs Amir’s hand and lets him stroke it so then he takes off his jacket or cloak or whatever and wraps it up and carries it home

And all the while Rupert is very confused but finds it kinda adorable

And over the next few weeks, Rupert will walk into a room to find Amir sat on the floor playing with this little kitten and he’ll just stand in the doorway and watch for a while, smiling

And then Amir will notice him and break out into this massive grin and beckon him over to sit next to him, head on Amir’s shoulder and they’ll stay like that until someone finds them and forces them to go to some meeting

And now have some headcanons about the start of their relationship (because I have too many ideas today):

After the fight in The Hollow, their mothers suggest they go back to their separate kingdoms to spread word of their plans and gather workers for the castle

But since they’ve just had a slightly traumatic experience (and they’re so In love), the boys don’t want to leave each other’s side

So instead they go to one kingdom and then the other and rarely let go of the other’s hand

Also, at first, their mothers won’t let them sleep in the same room because tradition or whatever

But Rupert starts getting nightmares so he’ll sneak into Amir’s room and shake him awake

And Amir will wake scared at first but then, seeing it’s Rupert, breaks out into a soft smile and invite him into the bed and they’ll talk and cuddle and fall asleep in each other’s arms

And after a while of waking up in the same bed more often than not, their mothers just give in and let them sleep in the same bed

Also, there’s definitely a lot of sneaking around at the start of the relationship

Mostly they’re trying to get out of meetings and other royal duties to spend time together alone

Maybe they’re kissing in a secluded alcove

Or sitting under a tree in the gardens

Or sneaking into the forest for a picnic

I just like the idea of them spending as much time together as possible for the first couple of months 😊

Anyway, I hope these make you feel better! They certainly put a smile on my face :)

Ok so even though the evil forest disappears, I think that the waterfall/lake stays

And Rupert and Amir find it soon after the end of season 1 and decide to build a cabin there, just for them

Then, after they finally have the wedding, they go to the cabin by the lake for their honeymoon

(They leave Lavinia and Atossa in charge of the new kingdom while they’re away)

So, the morning after their wedding, they set off, Amir on one horse with Rupert sat behind him and Joan on another

(Joan comes because she’s a good friend and a good knight and they might need protection)

Anyway, Rupert’s hugging Amir from behind the whole way there and they’re smiling and laughing and at one point Rupert kisses Amir’s neck and they almost fall off the horse

Joan stays a distance behind them, keeping watch but giving them privacy

When they get there, they set up a picnic they brought with them and Joan sets up camp nearby

They eat and kiss and sometimes feed each other and they talk about the future

After lying in the sun for a while, Amir picks Rupert up and throws him in the water, laughing when he surfaces and looks all grumpy and soaked

Rupert reaches out his hand to indicate that Amir should help him up but when Amir grabs his hand, Rupert pulls him into the water as well

They spend some time swimming and chasing each other through the water and then float for a while, holding hands

In the evening, they stargaze and huddle together for warmth

Then Rupert drags Amir up and they slow dance under the stars

They spend the next few days much the same and then return home, refreshed and ready to rule
