24-12-2023 | 🍲 | Baek Se-hee, I Want to Die But I Want to Eat Tteokpokki
I wonder about others like me, who seem totally fine on the outside but are rotting on the inside, where the rot is this vague state of being not-fine and not-devastated at the same time.

Hi there! I love your little snippet commentary for love for loves sake!! I had a question about debuffing in the game - I’m still confused as to when and who is debuffed so can you please give an explanation as to what it is in the game/show?
Hi! Thank you a lot for letting me know, I'm glad you enjoy my little discoveries in the series^^
As far as I understood, there aren't any certain rules to who/when debuffed, it's just ♦ "If you are in the Dating Zone and ♦ Yeowoon's Affection Level is less than zero, then ♦ he gets Debuffed (at random occassions! probably when needed for the show plot!), then ♦ something bad will happen". It can be anything - like a danger appearing nearby (lights being broken or something falling above on YW or bullying students will appear). This is why Myungha starts looking around whenever he gets a Debuffed notification.
Sometimes that "purple debuffed smoke" shows less than obvious danger (too spicy tteokpokki or Yeowoon's own arm that can be a danger to others - that surprised me, but that's in the realm of possibilities, then), but debuff does anything bad that can affect Yeowoon's happiness. It doesn't really touch others.
That's why Myungha was avoiding him in the beginning, because Yeowoon didn't like him and if he was in the Dating Zone (aka too close to YW), then the possibility of getting Debuffed all the time (aka bring Yeowoon bad luck and bad accidents) was higher.
In the show, Myungha didn't document any other details about Buff or Debuff, it is just written here in his journal as:
>> BUFF /Cannot know for sure/ - Golden light/fire appears and something good happens >> DEBUFF /Something bad happens/ - It doesn't happen if you're in the plus
It probably doesn't help you but I hope you understand a little bit more!:D

PSYCHIATRIST: So how can I help you? ME: I don't know, I'm – what's the word – depressed? Do I have to go into detail? Baek Sehee is a successful young social media director at a publishing house when she begins seeing a psychiatrist about her - what to call it? - depression? She feels persistently low, anxious, endlessly self-doubting, but also highly judgmental of others. She hides her feelings well at work and with friends, performing the calmness her lifestyle demands. The effort is exhausting, overwhelming, and keeps her from forming deep relationships. This can't be normal. But if she's so hopeless, why can she always summon a yen for her favorite street food: the hot, spicy rice cake, tteokbokki? Is this just what life is like? Recording her dialogues with her psychiatrist over a twelve-week period, and expanding on each session with her own reflective micro-essays, Baek begins to disentangle the feedback loops, knee-jerk reactions, and harmful behaviors that keep her locked in a cycle of self-abuse. Part memoir, part self-help book, I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki is a book to keep close and to reach for in times of darkness. It will appeal to anyone who has ever felt alone or unjustified in their everyday despair.

Stop being a fucking pussy and answer me. Or maybe you know that you suck add at writing so you’re just silently agreeing. If that’s the case then delete your fucking blog shithead.
Hello very irate anon. I've received your previous ask which literally just says, and I quote, "you should stop writing”. I'm finally here to give you the attention that you seem to be craving for.
To start, I'd like to explain why I didn't reply to your first ask (I'm assuming you're the same person). Simply put-I don't give a shit. Writing is subjective, not objective. If you don't like my writing, simply don't read it. It's not like you'll be waterboarded and have your fingernails broken off if you choose not to read my fics. Why make yourself suffer if there's a path of least resistance right before your eyes? Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
Next, I'm not too sure what "suck add" means, and I'm assuming you typo'ed suck ass (that's truly a skill issue if that's the case). I think that there's no need to send hate to writers if you don't like their things. The way you're speaking makes it seem as though being bad at writing is a criminal offense, and it's really so childish of you to send hate to another person on the internet just because you don't like the things they post. I suggest that you go read "I Want To Die But I Also Want To Eat Tteokpokki" by Baek Sae-hee so you can understand the complex nature of human emotion better. Maybe you'll be less hateful after that :).
Finally, I'm not deleting my blog anytime soon. You can always block my blog if you don't wish to see my content.
That will be all I have to say to you. I hope you will find joy in your life so that you'll stop sitting behind a screen to hate on people who just want to write.

You keep obsessively holding yourself to these idealised standards, forcing yourself to fit them. It’s another way, among many, for you to keep punishing yourself.
