Honestly, once more I feel some of the fandom really only cared about the shipping and not the actual characters.

Like, seeing people go "Katsuki is going to be pining and alone forever" actually makes me feel insulted on his behalf.

Was Katsuki only an appealing character to some of you because of "pining"? Who said that he was going to be alone forever?

I see people saying so much I'm starting to think it's being secretly manifested because it's what some of you want. I know some folks like that Katsuki angst. Don't you want him happy?

Sooo.... his development wasn't important? Was he only important to you if he and Izuku were together? Am I the only one who is happy that they at least are on talking terms?

Seeing Izuku talking to Ochako isn't enough for me to go "Katsuki is heartbroken forever", I'm sorry. The duo (Izuku and Ochako) are not standing in wedding clothes and exchanging vows.

Was it forgotten that MHA is a popular Shonen? The target audience is geared towards a young male audience, so yeah, we weren't going to get canon BakuDeku and instead Izuku talking with Uraraka.

Who know what's crazy? If Katsuki was the one to advise Izuku to talk to Ochako, that makes me realize that at some point, Izuku and Katsuki did have the talk they needed to get to the point that they're comfortable enough to give the other advice and be close again.

Like "hey, we talked it out, so now it's time you talk it out with her... man, we all need to get it together".

I thought making amends is a present idea in the story. Some of these characters need(ed) to do that. Katsuki and Izuku wasn't the only pair now.

Personally, given the target audience, it would be so funny if Horikoshi was sitting there sketching like "I'm gonna give these two the most 'dap me up' handhold ever". This feels like him going "Fine, I'll give what is wanted but not everything".

Something tells me he didn't even want to have an epilogue.

This one is so goshdarn cute omg😭😭 and they work so well together?? they've both got a sarcastic, easygoing nature and are both extremely competent in battle to the point that Ed and Tsu's teachers regard them respectively as being excellent fighters with no immediate weaknesses. Jude met G'raha during the Crystal Tower mess and got fond of him very fast. At the time he was in the awkward first stages of a relationship with Haurchefant, so it stayed as strong friendship for the duration. And probably always would have, if G'raha didn't burn himself into Jude's memories by locking himself away.

The Exarch thing didn't last for ten minutes. The moment he got somewhere private he made it clear that he knew exactly who was hiding under that hood - as if he could forget that voice, as if he could forget that smile! - but he trusted that there was a bloody good reason for keeping secrets. When Emet-Selch introduced himself, he knew he was right. (Although he was deeply upset when G'raha tried to sacrifice himself again, stupid sweet idiot can't seem to understand that Jude wants him to stay!)

G'raha woke up in the Crystal Tower the second time to find himself being cradled in Jude's lap and a very teary smile and "Welcome home" waiting for him. He's not allowed to do any more sacrifice plays, it is forbidden! He has to stay and be loved and that's that.

okay okay but imagine crying in todoroki's arm's and he barely knows you.

you've known todoroki for years and you were even in the same class together but you never associated, you knew midoriya since middle school and were on friendly terms, especially after both deciding to become heroes, those friendly terms became even friendlier and he became one of your best friends.

during ua you both made other friends, midoriya had his own circle and so did you, he had people like iida and todoroki and tsuyu, while you became close with mina and katsuki and ejirou.

after ua you joined fatgum's agency and because of that you met tamaki. you never interacted before while you both were at ua. the more time you spent together you became an item of sorts, neither of you wanted to put a label on it because you were both to nervous to have that conversation. you thought it was a mutual silent understanding that it wasn't just sexual or a small crush, you assumed that he loved you like you loved him, you regret that very much. you were very naive in that aspect.

you were excited to see tamaki, even though you only saw him yesterday you still missed him but that excitement changed to a sinking feeling in the bottom of your stomach. you saw him with mirio, that in it's self isn't anything noteworthy but the way he was reacting...

all the warmth left your body. your 'boyfriend' is in love and it's not with you. you thought he was in love and he is but just not the way you thought.

you can't help crying.

later on that night you go to talk to tamaki trying not to jump to any conclusions but there isn't anything that he can say that convinces you otherwise, he says he likes you but he doesn't look at you, he says he doesn't like mirio but it's the least convincing thing you've ever heard.

you leave immediately after and you want to be comforted you want to feel safe. you know there are people you could go to but you don't want anyone else, you want izuku, you want him to tell you it's okay and you calm your breathing.

you knock of midoriya's door rather loudly and instead of izuku opening it it's todoroki instead, "oh if you're looking for midoriya he's still at the agency i'm just here to get my-" he finally takes you in properly and sees you, your eyes are puffy and your nose is stuffy, he can tell you're trying to breathe properly, "are you okay?"

you don't think of much when todoroki opens the door, you can't wait for midoriya or try and find someone else, sure you don't really know todoroki but a body is body. you throw yourself at him, sobbing violently and falling to the ground dragging him with you.

he's shocked, he doesn't know much about you just that you're close to midoriya and bakugou and he didn't expect you to randomly just hug him. yes, todoroki is a kind man but he is also reserved and quiet, you're not friends, so he finds it odd to seek such comfort like hugging someone who you barely know. feeling awkward of this gesture but mostly surprised he pats your back a couple times, he doesn't know how to comfort you, he doesn't know you and luckily you start filling in any silence as you start spewing words between shallow breathes and shaky voice.

it doesn't matter to you that this is todoroki, right now you just need to hold onto something, right now you just need to cry and to have someone tell you it's alright. "i've been dat-dating this guy for the last t-three months and it's been going well b-but it's not l-l-like it's official and-and-and he loves his best friend and-" you just keep going, it's barely understandable but he can just about make it all out.

the longer you tell your story the more comfortable he gets in the position he's in, now instead of patting your back he's got his arms wrapped loosely around your lower back, he doubts you could even feel the gesture but he does it anyway, he thinks that if you do it's more comforting and the more you talk he has a feeling that you are comfortable with someone touching you, he really should have worked that one out earlier straight after he opened the door though...

you're crying so much his shirt is getting wet and he hopes midoriya is back soon.

As everyone from the yakuza group was getting taken away, arrested, one of them looked awfully similar to Overhaul. Midoriya, shocked, walked towards him and turned him around, only to see gold colored eyes, similar to of Overhaul’s.

“Woah, Midoriya!” A hero ran up to them, stopping Midoriya from doing anything else. “Who is he? Why does he-” The hero shushed him, trying to get the young hero in training to calm down. “We’ll explain everything once everything settles down.” Midoriya watched as the striking double of Overhaul walked away with the other yakuza members.

After that, the weeks that went by were dreadful. He couldn’t stop crying for days after Sir Nighteye’s death. He tried to smile at his funeral, but he knew he couldn’t keep up a smile like Mirio, just like how the hero wanted. Even though his friends tried to comfort him, he still didn’t feel much the same.

It got worse when someone was introduced to his class.

It was the carbon-copy of Overhaul, the same male he saw last time. His blood boiled at the sight, but remained as calm as he could. As Mr. Aizawa introduced the young male to the class, the students that joined the raid were surprised by the last name.

“Y/N Chisaki.”

He had the same last name as Overhaul, also known as Kai Chisaki. A few of them started to get defensive of him. “He will be joining us from now on.”

“Mr. Aizawa. I mean no offense but why is he joining us? Kero.” Tsuyu asked, a bit curious. “Some of you may know this from the news or actually being there. A villain named Overhaul was arrested and this is his son.” Students who didn’t know were surprised to hear this.

A villain’s child was joining them?

“Are you sure, sir?” Kaminari asked. Mr. Aizawa nodded and told Y/N to sit in the back beside Todoroki. He nodded obediently and walked towards the empty seat, nodding as a sign of acknowledgement towards Todoroki who did the same.

A few weeks went by and the class had started to trust the young male. Even though students who were on the mission, Kirishima, Uraraka, and Asui felt awkward around him, they managed to trust the male enough to talk to him normally and have a fun time.

When Mirio found out, he was actually cheerful about it. He said, “I think it’s a great opportunity! He could go down a different path from his father! A bright future!” with a smile on his face.

Midoriya sighed at Mirio’s statement. Everyone was moving on from this but Midoriya wasn’t!! He didn’t know why he couldn’t move on, he just couldn;t! Every time he saw Y/N, he felt a sense of rage.

Perhaps he was seeing Overhaul in Y/N. The striking resemblance was uncanny. His brown hair, his gold eyes, everything about him screams Overhaul. But he knew he had to make this right. If he wanted to continue to train to be a hero, he needed to move on from the past.

“Hey… uh… Y/N?” Y/N turned around, gold eyes sending shivers down Midoriya’s spine. He sighed shakingly. He bowed down as he hurriedly said “Uhm… Sorry about beating your dad!!” with a loud voice.

No response.

He lifted his head up, finding a confused face.

“Huh..?” Y/N tilted his head in confusion. “Uhm… it’s okay..” he muttered softly.

Let’s just say… He was embarrassed.. Like- to the point the poor boy was blushing hard in embarrassment.

the soft pitter patter of rain drumming against the windows of the dorm room. the lights were dimmed with the only thing illumanating the space being the raging action scene on the TV, the speakers boomed with every explosion, the vivid screeches of the actors being the main focus. and while your eyes may be trained on the screen. someone else only left their heart swell with adoration everytime you softly gasped at the screen, huddled in the safety of their blankets, in their room, with only them to protect you.

oh, he acts so scared when the movie starts, it really was your idea. after exam season it would have been nice to wind down and just breathe.

but this was most definitely not what he had in mind! he was thinking of going to a petting zoo, or getting manicures and pedicures and a spa day.

not watching an action movie with all that blood and gore! to be fair, he isn't even watching the movie, he's just been spending all his time fixated on you. but oh well.

you're just so cute to him though, whenever the character you're rooting for does something right, you squeal and kick your feet while stuffing your face with gormet popcorn he had his parents buy.

maybe this wasn't so bad after all.

this is really just a weekly occurrence for you both, where you'll both bring everything for a sleepover, the fuzziest blankets, board games, snacks, ridiculous self-care products just for the heck of it with he main event being the movie you both watch.

normally it's a silly rom-com, or even a shitty reality show but this time you decided on an action movie. so what is she to do? you're her ride or die, the thing 1 to her thing 2.

she's grumbling the whole night, but it's all worth it to see that picture perfect smile on your picture perfect face as you tell her to look at the screen for your favorite part while waiting for your freshly painted nails to dry.

she even starts really getting into it, maybe your passion is starting to infect her!

either way, it's just nice to be with you.

she LOVES movie nights

while she may not show it much, she's a sucker for all things acting, she's the type of gal to watching actor interviews Religiously, type of gal to be like "oh! that's (insert most random actor ever)", type to visibly scream when you say her favorite movies are overrated.

she has it all, the blankets, the popcorn, the sound system. and she keeps looking at you to make sure that you're having fun

god forbid you say you "liked" that movie. that it was "fine" NO you need to tell her your favorite parts, what you hated, what you loved, when you felt like crying, your favorite character. EVERYTHING.

He gets so mad whenever you take your phone out during the movie, even if you weren't going to do anything with it, he'll slap it (gently) out of your hands with a soft grumble.

buys you two things of popcorn, one for him and one for you. and this man eats his popcorn like a fucking robot, every 3.2 seconds he eats one and he will beg with the biggest puppy dog eyes for you to share your bucket with him.

best boy. be sure to give him a hug as thank you and watch as he bursts into nervous giggles.

Ochacho Uraraka

much like Tsu, Ochacho LOVES movies.

more so, the action, horror, and thriller. I'm sorry if you aren't a fan of any of them.

covers you both in blankets, in the coziest pajamas fresh from the laundry, as she flicks through a movie pirating site because she can't be bothered to pay for a streaming service!

oh, she thinks you're just so cute whenever you sink back into the cushions of her bed covering your eyes, anticipating a jump scare. she can't help but giggle every time you scream in fear. clutching onto the fabric of the blanket. she then apologizes profusely for giving you nightmares for a week.

or maybe you're a horror geek just like her. fawning for the special effects with her as you discuss the best and worst movies you've seen. she could probably listen to you babble on and on about whatever is on your mind and she'll listen happily.

Mashirao Ojiro

Absolute sweetheart about it, he keeps telling you that it's his job as your host to take care of you. fluffs up all the pillows, freshly heated blankets, the whole package.

he sometimes lets you use his tail an over sized pillows but be warned he will thrash it if a jump scare spooks him a little too much.

apologizes for it by sharing more snacks with you.

in action movies, he just loves criticizing all the horribly done martial arts. he'll whisper it under his breath with a grumble as he angrily takes a bite out of a chocolate bar.

over all, very polite, very kind, a gentleman, 11/10, best boy.

Denki Kaminari

gets super freaked out whenever something bad happens. it could be as simple as tripping someone in the movie and he'll gasp so and make this stupid little O face just to make you laugh.

he can't even focus on the movie half the time and instead jsut keeps saying "I'm bored" "I'm bored" "I'm hungry" "I'm sleepy" "WAAAAH" "I'm bored"

he will shut up if you tell him to. but honestly it's just better to put the movie on as background noise as you both talk about the latest gossip in class and eat wayyy too many expired popsicles from the back of his mom's freezer.

he will GAFAW at any comedy you put on until the whole building is awake because he can't shut up!

he'll skip any and all spicy scenes in a movie, all while blushing a bright red. he just doesn't want for your o think he's a creep... he really like you, y'know?

Bonus! (romantic)

he sneakily holds your hand whenever the main characters have a happy ending, and give you a little smile before gently kissing your chuckles. "I hope that's us one day."

Eijiro Kirishima

he does this thing where he gets super invested into the movie and literally needs to be torn away from the screen so he can focus on something else.

he'll also accidentally use his quirk whenever something surprises him and it's actually so stupid. He's the type of guy to jump back in surprise when Hans from Frozen turns out to be the villain and gasp.

movie nights are also on the nights he needs to dye his roots again or give himself another haircut, and who's a better person to help him with that than you!

he's just happy to be with you.

he definitely has a whole list of movies he wants to watch with you cuz' he thinks you'll like them.

you're the only one who he lets come into his room on a regular basis, and he's such a chatterbox whenever he's around you. comments on every single little detail in the movie just to have an excuse to talk to you.

he keeps showing you his bunny whenever the movie gets a little boring.

unintentional blanket hogger, he means well I swear, but he'll bundle himself up like a little burrito so you're gonna have to remind him to share. which he more than happily does.

will never, EVER condone animal cruelty. god forbid that there wasn't a "no animals where harmed in the making of this film" because he will be throwing hands

keeps criticizing the movie's plot, she really like to try and predict what's going to happen next

ends up crying by the end of the movie, she ended up getting a little too attached to the side character who was destined to die from the very beginning.

omg, he was totally dared by Kaminari to take you out to the movies and not wanting to be a puss he agreed.

he tries acting as smoothly as he humanely can be, spent 4 days trying to plan out his outfit alone.

buys you nice tickets, pays for the popcorn, and walks you everywhere especially since it's dark out

he eventually confesses that he's actually really nervous after he tripped over his own feet for the 20th time that night.

you two end up at a mcdonalds by the end of the night, crumbs on your face and all over the car.

he's such a dick the entire night. Like Jirou, he doesn't like movies all that much, you're going to have to convince him.

purposely chooses a horror movie. (by chooses I mean he says no to all movies but horror.)

really likes to point out all the plot inconsistencies and the horrible script. keeps going on his phone to go through all the Wikipedia articles about the actors.

Dark shadow hogs all the popcorn.

despite how he acts re really does like movie nights with you. not because of the movie but because of how you always invite him because you want to spend time with him. it makes him feel all warm and fuzzy inside, it thaws away at his heart if you will.

the only movies he's EVER seen in his whole life are the ones that they put on for the last day of school, and half the time it's a really low quality Disney movie or documentary that's like 43 years old.

never really thought much of movies until you mention liking a certain movie. oh, look, it's a magical (endeavor's) credit card just lying on the floor! how convenient.

this boy bought a new subscription, got new pillows and blankets, went to the movie theater, bought their popcorn, DIDN'T WATCH A MOVIE, and came home on the subways with a bucket of popcorn on his lap.

he's excited as you may be able to tell.

when it comes to actually watching the movie...he's not watching it. he spends the whole movie only looking at YOU. he's looking for a sliver of a smile, a joy in your eyes, anything, just anything as proof of your happiness. he needs that validation.

Toru Hagakure

insists heavily on regular spa+movie nights.

hates horror, utterly despises it, she will shriek and scream like a banshee.

spends more time fussing over skincare rather than the movie itself. shes like it as background noise.

Katsuki Bakugou

absolute menace, complains the whole time. popcorn? burnt. movie? too cheesy. pillows and blankets? too childish.

he actually really like it though, he sulks when you suggest canceling your regular movie nights in favor of going on a date with a new guy.

like Todoroki, he doesn't do movie nights because of the movies, no, he goes for you. he will purposely eat the burnt popcorn so you don't have to. murmurs "jump scare incoming" during horrors movies, and by the end of it, he'll escort you to your bedroom so you don't freak about what goes bump in the night.

sure he spends most of your movie nights laughing at you, and others in the hospital after a villain attack, but it's the best you probably get with Bakugou.

Izuku Midoriya

insists that movie night be held in your room because he is 100% sure that his All Might collection will scare you off.

unlike many others in this class, he does in fact watch the movie. gets so pulled in that he often forgets that you're there.

he fiddles around with his notebook the entire time too, jotting down notes about the characters, powers, personalities, ships....

buys your favorite popcorn for you knowing full damn well he won't be able to eat any of it because of the diet that All Might has him on.

falls asleep during the movie, training's too hard, the food's kinda shitty, Bakugou's a bitch, and your blankets are just sooo soft. left him sleep on your couch for a while, yeah?

she's never had a movie night at home before. usually, for movie nights, her parents would rent out a theater to view the newest movie, or they would go to see a Dance or play or something of the sort.

being a 7 year old girl during most of these "Movie nights" she got bored quickly and decided she hated movie nights from an early age.

when you ask if you two can have a movie night together, she only expects that, a grand performance before her very eyes, one she's fall asleep to half way through.

oh how wrong she was.

she watches that screen like a damn, what of the popcorn? she's forgotten about it, instead she gawks at the cheesiness of the romcom you out on. what do you mean you don't love him, Katharine? what do you mean? how dare you say that you'd rather date your ex rather than him. do you not see the way he stares at you with love?

she declares that movie her new favorite movie and even goes as far as to start planning your next movie night a mere 2 minutes after the first one ended.

That's not "interesting developing", thats repeating 428-429 with the adults version and some fun facts about the rest of the class and others, and instead of discussing heroics, insecurities, villains, the concept of saving, or even just quirks, she just will talk more with deku? Implying they'll talk about idk, how special she is I guess, bc of course her insecurities are about accepting she wants to be with him, not her morals or heroism or not saving someone she felt so connected to.

Uraraka still keeping her own feelings like when she was 15 hurts me a lot, Horikoshi, why did you do this with her development? It seems like she didn't learn anything 😭😭

Class 1-A PowerPoint Night

A PowerPoint night is when a friend group all make PowerPoints on random topics and present them to each other in case anyone doesn’t know. This is what I think all of class 1-A would do.

Yuga Aoyama makes a PowerPoint explaining french slang terms that he thinks the entire class should start using

Mina Ashido makes a PowerPoint rating everyone’s families. Points are awarded based on presence of both parents, how well each student gets on with their parents, whether they have siblings (younger siblings get less points than older ones) and how much she personally likes their family members.

Tenya Iida makes a PowerPoint on how to revise for their upcoming exam, complete with diagrams and information about the psychology of learning. The class feel like they’re in a lecture.

Tsuyu Asui makes a PowerPoint where she turns things the class has said into Pinterest-style inspirational quotes and they have to try and guess who said what.

Toru Hagakure makes a PowerPoint on Disney Men and whether or not she would trust them with her drink with little to no explanation. All the girls agree with her ratings.

Katsuki Bakugo makes a PowerPoint rating each of the barbie movies based on whether or not he could beat the protagonist in a fight. The class is shocked to find out that Katsuki does believe he would lose to some of the barbies.

Izuku Midoryia makes a PowerPoint analysing the class’s fighting techniques and their strengths and weaknesses as heroes, using all the notes he’s written about each of them in his notebooks. Additionally, he assigns everyone in the class a current pro hero that they’re most similar to.

Minoru Mineta makes a PowerPoint rating the girls in every class of their year group and is not allowed to present it.

fix-it but make it horrible: in that brief period of time before the second war All For One sees the loyalty the League has for Shigaraki and decides to break it from the inside, so that by the time he steals Shigaraki's body none of them are too affected and remain by the new host's side.

He starts with Spinner, the one closest to Shigaraki, and the most loyal one to him. He breaks his mind with the overload of quirks, puts him down until the start of the war. By the time the war begins he has a dumb but obedient puppet, unable to think for himself, unable to even notice that Shigaraki is gone.

The second one is Dabi. He doesn't hide it anymore how his main objective is to die in a confrontation with his father. All For One likes his subordinates loyal and obedient to him, and as Touya's quirk has always been of great interest to him, he refuses to let him go on his own. He wants Dabi by his side for this war, protecting him with the power of his flames, so using one of his many quirks he alters Dabi's memory, erasing every part of Touya Todoroki. Dabi is Shigaraki's right hand man and he will stay by his side and destroy anyone who sets out to harm Shigaraki Tomura, that's all he needs to know.

Toga is left alone and she is terrified. She knows All For One is going to kill her. She was so busy thinking about the heroes killing her, like they killed Jin, she forgot that being a villain means always watching her own back. Moreover, she was so busy hurting and lashing out at the world for taking Jin away from her, she had failed to do anything to protect Shigaraki, Spinner and Dabi. With her dear friends turned mindless puppets for literal Satan, once again taken from her, like Twice, Mister Compress, Magne and Kurogiri were taken, she is breathless with terror, anguish, guilt.

She runs to the ashes of her childhood home that Dabi had burned for her, doesn't allow herself to cry or escape into the memories of the past, and pushes forward. She runs to the heroes, finds Ochako, Izuku, Tsuyu, Allmight, Eraserhead, any hero she had once been able to allow herself to trust, and begs them for their help. She will give herself up, she will go to prison, she will give them intel for the war against All For One (Shigaraki), she will put Twice's quirk to use one last time if it means honoring his memory and protecting the people she loves. She will do anything, just please, help her save her friends from that monster?

i am not going to lie. i almost screamed out loud while watching this. i had read the manga ending previously but seeing it on screen really almost wrecked me.

love stories are fun... until the love story is one of you dies saving the life of the only one who fully understood you and loved you for who you really were.

i think the biggest reason why togachako is my favorite bnha ship is because of the parallels between ochaco and toga, especially in how they perceive and express their love.

toga had previously assumed that the only person who could truly love her would have to be pretty much the same as her. this came from her own experience with her parents and everyone around her, who saw her only as a monster and tried to repress her inner feelings and thoughts, which made her all the more bloodthirsty after such a long time of being literally and metaphorically starved.

she was treated as an unredeemable demon that couldn't be loved by anyone "normal."

this belief of hers that love can only come from someone like herself also correlates with her quirk, as she often tries to drink the blood of and "become one" with those she likes or wants to be closer to, similar to how she drained her first crush of all his blood as both a kind of love confession and as the emergence of her true self.

throughout the series you can see this kind of behavior of hers to try and relate to other people in order to rationalize her feelings for them. when she first fought with ochaco and tsuyu, for example, she told ochaco that they had the same scent, that they both admired deku, and that they were both trying to emulate the person of their affections. and during their fight in season 6, toga says to ochaco "i want to be like you. you're cute too, ochaco. i like you a lot."

the way toga is always comparing herself to ochaco, drawing similarities between them and openly admitting to wanting to be more like her, is the only kind of love confession she can make because she feels that someone who isn't like her couldn't possibly like her.

compare this to how ochaco sees and interprets love.

ochaco's parents loved and supported her even though they weren't very wealthy themselves, which inspired her to become a hero so she could help people like them. she was also inspired by deku, and her admiration of him led to her wanting to emulate him, something toga picked up on and related to.

it's clear that toga wants to find something to relate to in ochaco, and even though ochaco is quite different from toga, there are still many parallels between them, too.

for example, they both hid parts of themselves from other people, ochaco by denying she had feelings for deku and toga by being forced to conceal her true self all her childhood. toga wanted to connect with ochaco over this, but ochaco refused to identify with ochaco at all.

another thing i want to bring up is the symbolism of toga's smile.

when she's confronted by chitose, she's forced to reflect on how society has shunned and tried to reconfirm her, but instead of feeling miserable about it, toga instead says she is happy because she finally has a clear goal in mind: to get closer to someone she loves.

she then uses the blood she has left to turn into ochaco, which chitose believes is only so toga can die while looking cute, but toga realizes in that moment that she wants to be close to someone like how toga is close to deku.

she wants to be just like ochaco.

in short, drinking ochaco's blood returned toga's will to live, as she was able to find what she wanted in life and even uncover a new side to her powers she didn't realize she had before. she even says that living as someone like ochaco, a cute high school girl that others enjoy the company of and that life treats "easier" is the goal she wants to achieve.

by briefly experiencing what life was like for ochaco, someone who could be close to the person she loved and even get them to trust her (something toga was denied over and over in her childhood), toga realizes that she wants to be more like ochaco. in fact, she might even love ochaco.

and the way this scene was animated is just amazing.

i love the way half of ochaco's face and half of toga's face are merged together, while she gives her widest unhinged grin.

as toga said, she smiles when she's happy, and being close to someone she loves creates that feeling in her. that's what she wants in life: to love and be loved for who she truly is, to feel that deep closeness with someone. and reflecting back on her relationship with both deku and ochaco made her want to live her life, despite the pain she'd experienced before, so that she could live as she wanted to, love someone who loved her for herself. someone who accepted her normality.

and although ochaco initially rejected toga's attempts to connect with her, making toga feel like ochaco would be just another hero who would kill toga without regret, it makes it even more interesting and beautiful when ochaco reconsiders and chooses to reach out and connect with toga, despite everything.

ochaco is someone who wants to save people, who knows what pure love feels like and knows how to give it in turn. she was at first disturbed by toga's strong feelings and her teeth-bearing smiles, because to her those forms of expression went against her ideas about what love is and how people show it. but now ochaco admires toga's smile. she's even jealous of it, and at how toga so easily expresses her emotions and her love.

they were both jealous of each other. toga was jealous of ochaco for being able to have normal relationships that allowed her to get close to people, to be trusted by them, to feel cute and wanted. and ochaco was jealous of toga for being able to be so upfront and even headstrong about her feelings, to express her true self with such rawness and honesty.

and despite how toga was willing to kill ochaco, the other girl never uses her powers to harm toga.

though they both know zero gravity can be lethal and toga even used it to kill chitose and her army, ochaco is still unwilling to use it to harm her and is tender to toga throughout their entire confrontation.

this goes against everything toga feared and maybe even believed ochaco would do to her. ochaco is not willing to kill toga like the heroes killed jin, and though she won't forgive every terrible thing that toga has done, she is still willing to hear what toga has to say and to even comfort toga through it.

it's such an important detail to me that ochaco literally keeps toga tethered throughout this entire conversation. she's showing toga that it's not a matter of pity or ego that she's doing this, but she truly wants to hear toga's side of the story.

and despite how toga keeps trying to harm her, ochaco never flinches away and never stops listening.

if the manga was way too emotional already, the animated version of their last battle almost broke me, especially during this scene.

i can't get over how ochaco doesn't look away from toga the entire time. the fact that it's so important for her to let toga know she finds her smile beautiful means so much, both because of how toga wants to be found cute by someone and because toga smiles when she's happy, so ochaco is saying she values toga's happiness and that expression of her true self.

toga's smile is wide, unhinged, maybe even a little monstrous to anyone else. but to ochaco, it's wonderful. because toga is happy, free to express herself without holding back or donning anyone else's appearance to do so. her natural face, her natural personality, who she really is... that's what ochaco finds cute.

and it's so telling that when ochaco thinks about how she loves both deku and ochaco, her smile is more worried than happy. yet when ochaco confirms that toga is cute, the cutest girl in the whole world, toga's smile is pure and so wide.

ochaco made her happy, even at the very end. toga couldn't even imagine a world without ochaco in it being one worth living in, so she decided to give up her life to save ochaco's own. because ochaco's love is what gave toga happiness, and she knows that a world without happiness, without that person who makes her smile, would never feel the same.

they will forever be one of the most tragic love stories of all times, but also the cutest and sweetest... if only they'd had more time.

YANDERE DEKUSQUAD HEADCANONS

Ochako and Tsuyu just LOVE and ADORE seeing you in cutesey frilly dresses which make you look like a baby. They like dressing you up in various different outfits and take thousands of pictures of you in an outfit in hundred different poses just so the entire dekusquad can drool over you later on

Iida and Todoroki are the actual masterminds behind all the planning like how you're going to fall in love with them, whom they should kill for talking to you and being too close to you and stuff like that which requires INTENSE planning. They are also the types of yanderes who will not hesitate to punish you when you behave badly. Yes, it breaks their hearts as much as it breaks Deku's and Uraraka's and Tsuyu's when you get punished by Iida and Todoroki, but it can't be helped. Those 3 are TOO soft with you and REFUSE to even make you cry whereas Iida and Todoroki are like the strict parent types. At least, that's what I feel

Whenever Todoroki gets out of hand like he's almost going to burn you or freeze your limbs off, the other members of the Dekusquad will tell him to calm the FRICK down and Iida will have a very stern lecture with him on how he should control his anger while Tsuyu, Uraraka and Deku will be busy trying to pacify you and baby you 

Izuku will make sure you are getting enough rest and you're getting enough to eat and you're healthy, stuff like that. He's like the soft overprotective mom whereas Iida is like the strict overprotective mom. Izuku will make sure you fall asleep EXACTLY at your planned bedtime and if you can't sleep, he'll stick to your side like a LEECH ngl... or he might play some soft jazz music and help you sleep by slowly stroking your hair and petting your head. Yes, it does get the others all riled up and jealous ASF, but they don't want to start a fight in front of you since you're already scared of them, no point in making you MORE scared than you already are

They will actually have a weekly schedule so you can spend time with ALL of them. Don't worry, they will treat you like a princess and they will smother the hell out of you and spoil you rotten to death, but if you act up, start kissing your favorite things goodbye and sayonara

Uraraka, Tsuyu and Deku are kinda like the gullible and innocent yanderes who'll be really EASY PEASY to manipulate to get whatever the HECK you want. They just LOVE to baby you and cuddle with you 

Iida likes teaching you new things and will occasionally give you treats and rewards for your good behavior 

If they're feeling particularly nice that day, they might actually consider taking you outside for some sun since staying indoors year round can't be all THAT healthy (According to Iida's research on how to keep a darling happy)

Will always make sure you're safe and happy no matter what :)
