WHY YOU SHOULD TRY READING WIND BREAKER EVEN IF IT'S NOT YOUR CUP OF TEA

Content warnings to take note of before you read: poorly written explanations and BAD ENGLISH [like extremely bad I'm not even joking XD], a few manga spoilers like mentions of characters that might not be included in the current season of anime

A few days ago, I started reading the manga of Wind Breaker by Satoru Nii and reached the latest chapter after two days. Considering I have a life to deal with, this is actually fast because I couldn't stop reading for as long as there is a next chapter to read. This series was suggested to me by my sister and I was already looking forward to the anime. After watching 2 episodes so far, I couldn't contain myself and decided to read the manga instead. In all honesty, delinquent theme is not my cup of tea. At the very least, it is not a genre that I would actively seek. However, this series piqued my curiosity, kept me engaged, and made me want to read more. And now here I am, desperately waiting for the next chapter to come.

Before anything else, I would like to let you know that [as far as the latest chapters are concerned], there are no teachers involved in the story. Even if they are going to school, there are no scenes of them actually studying. There are also no authorities involved. So just think of them as students only doing social studies by protecting the townsfolk and interacting with them daily. But then again, THIS IS FICTION, SO IT'S OKAY!! So with that out of the way, let me point out a few things that I really love about this manga.

THE MAIN CHARACTER

The main character, Sakura Haruka has such a cool character design. Bicolored hair and different eye colors, who wouldn't be interested? To top it all off, he's good at fighting and he is such a tsundere he ends up blushing all the time! He also has a sad past that makes us want to protect this baby boy from all the pain and suffering he encountered thus far. If you've watched the first episode, it's quite evident that he was ostracized because of the way he looks. Ugh, my poor baby boy. T_T

The anime actually did a great job of including more tidbits of Sakura's dark past in the first episode. There were scenes that I noticed that are included in the later chapters. In fact, the first 1 minute and 30 seconds of the first episode gave us something that manga did not give until almost 50+ chapters.

It may seem like a normal dark-lit room but it actually speaks a lot. One room, no other furniture, and just a futon he can sleep on. What I am trying to point out is there is a difference between someone who started living alone as soon as they moved to a different town and someone who has been living alone almost their entire life. Now, don't get me wrong. Sakura's past is yet to be revealed. The full details of how he ended up alone are not yet even shown in the latest chapters of the manga. We can only make assumptions based on what was shown thus far and his behavior as he tries to interact with more people. Anyway, as you read more chapters, you will eventually realize that the main character lived a painful life before coming to Furin High.

THE OTHER CHARACTERS

If the main character is great, it's a good series. But it's even better if the other characters are interesting too. The mangaka did an amazing job with the other characters and how they contributed to the story. Each character has their own personality that you will also love. I bet you might even have a top 5 or even top 10 favorite characters just for this series alone.

THE CHARACTERS' DEVELOPMENTS

Now this is one of the reasons why I fell in love with the series. I am not just referring to the character development of the MC but also the other characters! What's more, is that the author finds a way to make their development interesting but brief and how their past contributes to who they are right now. Sometimes, the past is even included in a single chapter and with a few more scenes of the present. Of course, there are longer backstories but I assure you that every scene is important and contributes greatly to the plot.

THE PERFECT BALANCE BETWEEN MC AND THE OTHER CHARACTERS

You know how there are times that the main character feels like they are being forgotten in some series? I can think of a few but let's not mention those. XD Anyway, this one will surely not disappoint. The MC is a first-year high school student and even though it was already proven how strong he is in the first two episodes, there are surely other characters that are more OP than he is.

To me, this is very important. If the MC is the only one progressing, it's quite boring. But if there are other characters developing to the point that it makes you think, oh maybe he's the MC all along, it makes the series annoying. If I ever encountered such tropes, I would immediately put that series on hold and get back to it once I felt like it. Or maybe just never get back to it, at all. XD

Wind Breaker, despite having many interesting characters, manages to highlight the secondary characters without having the main character overshadowed and underappreciated.

THE DRAMA, THE COMEDY, THE ACTION AND THE FOUND FAMILY TROPE

Since delinquency is one of the themes of this series, of course, there's action. And the anime so far is doing a great job with the animation of the fight scenes. The drama is superb. It tears my heart out and rip it to pieces every single damn time whenever one of the characters' past is introduced. And then there's comedy. MC is socially awkward, and tsundere to boot. Who wouldn't laugh at his antics? What's best is that despite the fact that Sakura's behaviors are quite disturbing [signs that indicate that he did not have a normal life], the author managed to portray these scenes in such a way that you will find them painful but endearing at the same time.

As for the found family, I wouldn't want to spoil a lot but just think of it this way, the founder of BOFURIN considers every member not just as a friend but as family. And not just the students, he also considers the people of their town a big part of their family. Not some strangers to protect, but a family to treasure. If that's not sweet, I don't know what it is.

ADDED LGBT THEME

Since it's been confirmed that the anime will only have 13 episodes, the character I am referring to will not be introduced in the anime. As you may have already noticed, Furin High is an all-boys school so needless to say, all students there are males [at least, biologically speaking]. She's the only rose among the thorns. She was included in the screenshot below but I doubt we'll get to see her completely in this season. So I will leave it to your capable eyes to identify who I am referring to. XD

Anyway, the portrayal of this character is very close to reality. Her story of how she struggled with her sexuality and how she wanted to be accepted by other people is so beautifully and at the same time painfully written.

I really love Sakura and this character's interactions. It feels like Sakura has a very reliable and beautiful older sister. I do hope that this series will continue getting more seasons because I am really in love with this character.

I can still go on but I think that I already made my point. Anyway, if you are still having doubts about this series, just give it a try. Read at least 60 chapters and if you really don't like it, there's nothing wrong with it. We all have our own preferences when it comes to anime and manga. I thought I just needed to make this review since it's really a surprise how this series managed to make me love it a lot.

So if you are looking for a series that has these elements: fluff, angst, action, drama, comedy, found family, lgbt themes, you will definitely enjoy it!

HOW EASY IS IT FOR THE RAD CLASSMATES TO GET JEALOUS?

(Let's say that in this scale: 1 stands for "discomfort" while 10 for "possessiveness")

DEMYA (9/10)

Demya's a rather territorial demon and among the RAD classmates, she's the feralest one. She easily gives into her demon nature, especially when she feels threatened or on an empty stomach. Demya lost much during her time as a slave in a freak show in the human world: her family, her freedom, her dignity and her right to eat. For this she's quite possessive towards MC, because they're one of the few good things that life has granted her and the idea of ​​losing them scares her. If MC were to flirt with someone to get favors in return, Demya wouldn't mind, because she does the same thing sometimes. However if someone were to flirt with MC and,so Diavolo help them, MC was uncomfortable, then Demya would intervene: either by threatening to tear the heckler in question to pieces or by grabbing MC's arm, spoiling them with kisses and giggles and then dragging them away, leaving there the heckler (in case they tried to stop Demya, at first she would just smile menacingly as a warning and if the heckler insisted, unless MC holds her back,she will kick) (P.S.: Demya's shoes have hidden blades)

DOMNRA (8/10)

Domnra's a rather aggressive demon and he's very protective towards the people he cares about and what belongs to him, he doesn't have the reputation as a delinquent for nothing and with his anger issues, he easily gets to violence, so lesser demons tend not to bother him too often. In addition to being a tsundere, although he doesn't want to admit it, Domnra's insecure, of his grumpy character, of the curse he has and of his scars for example. He hardly shows himself vulnerable, but he appreciates that despite everything MC doesn't seem to care. If MC were to flirt with someone, Domnra would become very insecure and would need to spend some time away from them to cool off, only reassurances from Mobim and explanations from MC could calm him down. If, on the other hand, someone were to flirt with an uncomfortable MC, it would be the first time Domnra would have no problem being clingy in public: with a frown he would bring MC closer to him, asking the heckler to get out of the way if they don't want to pay the consequences. Depending on how the heckler reacts, the situation could escalate and in the meantime Domnra would leave Mobim with MC. It would try to comfort them and then calm down the conflict

AZUL (5/10)

With Azul the matter is a bit complicated, given his mood swings. In some cases, he could simply approach the heckler introducing himself as MC's boyfriend happily, in others he could completely ignore them and make out with MC in front of the heckler, just to show off or he could even compete to see who makes MC blush the most,like it was some sort of game. In some other cases he could decide to flirt with the heckler, having fun making them uncomfortable, or to scare them, appearing next to the heckler out of nowhere as a ghost would. These are the most common options,in which he wouldn't be really jealous,instead he would just have fun messing around with the heckler and MC. However there are days in which Azul isn't in a particularly good mood and making an unstable demon jealous isn't the best of ideas. As a warning, from the usual light blue color, his typical traits would turn red (anger): that is the moment in which MC should intervene to calm him down if they want to avoid conflict, and if they don't, then Azul would have fun more than willingly to throw the poor unfortunate bastard from side to side with his telekinesis

ZURI (3/10)

Zuri isn't a very jealous demon, being sure of herself, her skills and her partner. To be so close to Zuri, as to become her partner, she must feel a lot of trust in MC, it's one of the requirements to get into her good graces, and this would be one less reason not to fear inappropriate behavior from MC. If someone were to flirt with MC, Zuri would analyze the situation before taking action. She herself is used to flattery, at least from those with guts, so it isn't surprising that her partner receives it too, being a peculiar being. However if she notices discomfort from MC or bad intentions from the heckler (like trying to get close to them just to get to her) then Zuri will very quietly interject, although her presence would probably intimidate the heckler. To leave, she would simply say that their presence is required elsewhere, maintaining a peaceful but serious tone. If the heckler was stupid enough to insist, Zuri, not wanting to attract attention or make a scene by getting her hands dirty, would use one of her powers on the heckler to make them go away on "their will" (hypnosis)

ODON (1/10)

It isn't easy to get obvious emotional reactions from Odon, because no matter the situation they find themself in, they always seem to be smiling with their wide green grin. Besides, with having half of their face covered, it's difficult to understand where they're looking or what expression they're making, so apparently, one might think they can't get jealous. And in a certain sense it's true, what they would feel wouldn't exactly be jealousy, it isn't the right term to describe their feelings, the more correct word would be "loneliness". Odon would feel lonely, left on the sidelines, which they're used to, but now that they have MC, it's different. The only clues that something is wrong with Odon are: a forced or very light smile and if the eye-like creatures are present, seeing one crying and the other one glaring at the heckler (those creatures have a personality of their own). If not particularly uneasy, Odon would just wait for MC to return. In case they start to feel too much ignored, then they would approach MC, asking them if they would like a cup of tea or some biscuits. They would have also offered those to the heckler, perhaps in the hope of making a new friend, but it's very likely that the heckler runs away out of fear even before Odon reaches them

Yankee Jk Kuzuhana-Chan

Or: Delinquent High School Girl Kuzuhana-Chan

Genre: Harem-Comedy

Summary/plot: An all girl school that teaches fashion, business, and cooking opens its doors to boys and our MC is the only one to join. He does actually go there for the fashion curriculum as his family owns a tailor shop. Unfortunately all the girls there are delinquents and they all teas and bully him for being a guy. One day while getting bullied he is saved by the first main girl, Kuzuhana-Chan. This snowballs into him slowly making friends with other girls, no tsundere though. Unless you count a once-bullier to friend as tsundere. Harem stuff happens. Girls like boy, boy thinks it’s all just teasing him, you know the drill. But it does have some unique qualities to it.

Art Style: It uses stock backgrounds, but they don’t look bad. The characters have a round shojo look. I would say it is a more unique style, but not non-manga style. The artist draws the girls with thickness in mind. No thin as a stick people they all got some curve and chonk on them.

Personal thoughts: Comparing it to other harem manga, I think this one is a breath of fresh air so to say. Mostly in how the characters act and how the plots work out. You’ll find yourself saying “Oh that’s a bit different than normal harem” here and there. They don’t rely on misunderstanding plot points too much. Really, it’s only used for the MC to assume that the girls are just teasing him rather than actually liking him. Which I will say he has good reasons to think this, being that most of them have teased him with flirtatious behaviors. There are a few points were a typical harem plot starts up but then quickly gets resolved. Some of the girls are also more malicious in personality. Something else that is different, is that the characters actually communicate about their problems. It may take a chapter or two to build up the courage or get a good time, but they do in fact have growth moments. The only thing they don’t confess is their love (because we gotta keep the manga going) but if they are feeling left out, or they want to clear the air about something, or if they feel like someone is mad at them, they tend to eventually talk it out. In the recent chapters they’ve been working on the MC getting out of the keeping things to himself and not recognizing the other’s feelings. They have gotten to the point where they have introduced so many girls that the original main ones are being left behind. The OG main girl Kuzuhana-Chan has been getting less and less chapters, and her name is in the title of the manga. Like really the others I can understand but give or main girl her spotlight back. Also, its heavy on the panty shots and about equally so with the boobs. There is a decent amount of falling on top of each other in perverted positions too.

Characters:

Saotome: Our MC and only boy in the manga. A fashion manic or at least he really likes designing clothes. Will do perverted stuff without noticing because he’s too engrossed with clothes (this is not overused). Pretty typical for a harem protagonist but maybe a bit smarter and more aware. Easy bulling target but will also try to protect others even though he probably needs it more.

Kuzuhana: The first main girl. She is the “big scary” of the school. Once beat up a shit ton of people and got the reputation for it. She a sweetheart under a tough shell. There’s a “dere” term for this but I don’t know it. She solves problems with violence and or intimidation and where she can’t do those any kind of sport-like competition will work, except for swimming. A bit of a ditz and pushover when it comes to romance though.

Takae: Bitch, ok now that’s out of the way she is the most cunning evil one of the harem. Her first appearance was her attempting to extort money out of Saotome via black mail. Though she joined the harem and has become less of a problem now. She is probably the smartest one of the group. She’s good at identifying threats and formulating plans around them. 2 faced is a good description of her. She does improve though the story.

Usigome: The big-titty ditz. You know the type. She pretty loose with shoving herself on Saotome and acts all airheaded. To her credit she can be smart and tactical. Generally nice and supportive to others.

Kodera: The cool calm one. She is kind of disconnected from the harem but still a part of it. She has 2 other friends she always hangs around, who after getting over the fact she like a guy, helps her out with it. She isn’t too aggressive but has problems with interacting with men.

Madoka: The childhood friend. She is in the cooking class. For some reason she never checked in on her childhood friend whenever she heard that he happened to be the only boy in their school, but whatever. She isn’t featured much. She has the typical “childhood friend you haven’t seen in a while and is in love with you” personality, and thus has the “I like him but how do I get him to see me more than friends” deal.

And of course more girls come in down the line.

Other info: As of 2/23/23 there are 142 chapters. They are of typical length so it may take a bit to get through. No anime I’ve heard of for it but wouldn’t be surprised to hear one is coming.

All in all: I’d recommend this one. It’s different from most other harem manga so it will keep you engaged. If you like harem and can get over the panty shots, you’ll like this one.

I think Malleus would’ve been a blast to see with a Tsum. Ace too, but just because he’s such an annoying thing on his own. It’d be funny to see his Tsum annoying him back. Maybe Ace hasn’t confessed yet- and Tsum ace acts oddly affectionate to the mc and only the mc. So he’s just left to fluster and watch as mc gives Tsum ace all the affection he secretly wants for himself.

Aww tsum tsum Malleus would be so cute! Imagine the little horns and just this giant of a man compressed into a tiny little bouncy ball plush thingy 🥺 Everyone normally is so intimidated by Malleus and now there's just this tiny version of him that's just not scary at all. I feel like everyone would still hesitate to pet him though because they'd fear that the actual Malleus would see

And then there is you, scooping tsum tsum Malleus up into your arms and smooching his tiny cheek. And the Tsum tsum completely reciprocates the affection and just snuggles into your chest and ( actually do they talk at all?? I have no idea) makes these happy noises and Lilia is just standing to the side, clearly amused and cooing at the adorable scene while Malleus sulks because he wants that affection 😭

Actually Ace was one of my first thoughts when I thought of characters I want to as Tsum Tsums! He's not my number 1 top favorite character but I feel it would make for such a funny concept? Ace strikes me as the guy who would be super annoying around his crush and act like he doesn't actually like them ( in other words a tsundere) so to then see his tsum tsum version being so open with wanting affection from you and just hanging onto you wherever you go.

Ace can't help but be embarrassed and yet annoyed at the same time. Yeah yeah, you think he's just irresistibly adorable and he gets that you just like him so much, but don't you rather want to spend time with the real Ace?

He's known you way longer than that little devil on your shoulder so give him some more attention!! Yeah, he gets jealous over this and he'll be petty and he's not going to admit that he's jealous djdhd

While we're at it, give us tsum tsum Deuce as well!! He'd be so cute and I swear Deuce would have such a cute reaction to seeing you be affectionate with his alternate self. He actually kind of loves it? I don't know how to properly explain this thought but you know how he wants to move on from being a delinquent? And now there's this really adorable version of him that isn't scary in the slightest and that you're fawning over?

It kind of makes him feel good about himself

Okay but tsum tsum Kalim would be sooo energetic and affectionate and you can't convince me otherwise. While some of the others might lean onto you or squish against you, tsum tsum Kalim *flies* directly at you as soon as you're in his sight and absolutely nothing could stop him.

Kalim is already very affectionate with you and this new version just somehow takes it a step even further. It's almost impossible to pull him away from you when he's all snuggled in your arms, a super happy and content smile on his face.

The actual Kalim laughs the entire time and just hangs off your other arm. One of the most excited about this.

My two favorites, Riddle and Epel already got a tsum tsum version so I was pretty well fed this event. Now I just need to actually read it!! 😤

JADE - Calm and calculated bastard with a mushroom obsession, too tall and Floyd's twin. Also I'm pretty sure he intentionally tries to poison people with unknown mushrooms in his dish wtf.

FLOYD - Feral and moody bastard who may or may not squeeze the life out of you with no remorse I bet he has broken some ribs. also has nicknames for everyone. Once cm taller than Jade, his twin but their too tall to see it in the first place.

EPEL - that one character trope about how innocent and cute a person looks, but they are actually a feral little shit. He gets mistaken for a girl a lot but wants to be masculine (to a kinda toxic level? idk how to say it), also did I mention he is a country boy?

LILIA - I can't call him an old man so I'm calling him one old ass fae. man keeps up a cute boy appearance but has a deep voice and raised silver + has been to war countless times, kinda sketchy but funny.

SILVER - Lilia's child, I don't want to invalidate or assume that he has narcolepsy, but it seems close enough how have any doctors in TWST not realized this. Also when is Lilia gonna give him a last name? Chill but just a little less dense than Kalim.

Here’s a list of English-released manga I’ve currently got on pre-order, and manga series I ordered before but won’t be continuing with the series.

As a note: Some of these titles have been released but I have not received them yet due to a issues with covid backlog effected how things are released.  I personally find that if you pre-order it tends to get you manga quicker.  It seems there is more pressure to keep up with the new release schedule than chip away at the backlog.

It is rare for straight shit to end up in my library but My Androgynous boyfriend is an exception that will surprise no-one since it’s pretty queer adjacent.  This story is mostly a couple being lovey-dovey between jokes about sexuality and gender but (so far) isn’t problematic at all.  The female lead is quite enjoyable as she’s well-balanced and has agency throughout. There’s even ace representation! It’s very low-stakes, wholesome, and sweet so far. (Volume 3 is set to release in November.)

Even Though We’re Adults

Takako is also the creator of Sweet Blue Flowers and Wandering son.  I have dipped by toe in to both those series.  I overall find their writing kinda meandering and tepid (might just be me) but technically pretty solid.  I am hopeful for this series since it features adults....if the title didn’t make it obvious.  I was intrigued by the one character being married but the man finding out about the affair quickly and reacting more realistically and interestingly than the average male love interest in a Yuri.  I also found myself relating at bit to Akari’s angst about being unlucky with relationships with women.  I also do enjoy the artwork! This one is the most likely of my followed series to be dropped at some point. (Volume 2 of this manga was set to release in June this year.)

This is a series I keep going back to.  While it is the very typical low-stakes bubbly, cutesy School age Yuri...it is a very good version of that.  Just warm bubble bath vibes. (Volume 7 is set to release in February of next year.  I think it was originally supposed to be released this May but was bumped back.)

This, as I understand it, is a slow-burn romance about two delinquent girls.  I have heard good things about the novel and the anime series!  However I prefer manga to novels and don’t have a funimation account so I went to snag it in manga form. (Volume 1 was set to release in February this year and 2 in September)

The premise is a young lady has a crush on a handsome older girl who’s oblivious to her advances.  When she tries to confess she instead gets roped into being the club manager of the basketball team that her crush is a part of.  So it feels like it may end up cycling through 2 jokes and be so deep in the stereotypical manga bullshit you can easily-predict its beats volumes in advance. HOWEVER that is also a premise that is similar to Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun which is legitimately a hilarious series. Also I fucking love butch/stud/masc-presenting women/AFAB people.  So I’m willing to risk “The same Anime bullshit” for good jokes and a cute lezzy romance with a beautiful butch.  (Volume 1 is set to release of December of this year.)

My Excitement Level: Pretty nervous actually.  I hope it works out!

So I am always hungry for something darker, meatier, more mature. (Volume 1 is set to release next February)

A former delinquent runs into her high school rival.  After losing a fight to her she agrees to her terms...her terms being to go out on a date with her.  I mean the title alone makes me want to pick it up!  It may run afoul of bad anime humor, but I’m hoping with the fact that it’s full of gay adult delinquents that it’ll be a little different.  (Volume 1 is set to release next February)

A woman gets reborn into her favorite Otome game but she wants to romance the villiain!  I had heard a ton of great things about the novel but I picked up the manga version. (If the novel is totally different I can’t speak to it.)  For me, the writing is ham-handed, the jokes flop 90% of the time, and the fact the lead’s only personality trait seems to be ~obsessed with a bully~ really dampens this title.  Her advances are so aggressive and unwanted I honestly started feeling bad for a spoiled rich bully.  I will say it’s saving grace is the fact that the lead is masochistically into the villainess’ tsundere abusiveness. For me I hate tsundere romances if framed like, “I like you DESPITE your insults.” It is only tolerable if it’s instead, “I like you cause you tell it like it is. I’m a dirty little pig. Please step on this bad little piggy!”

Our Teachers are Dating

Well one reason I stopped the series is that cover you see up there.  The sex in this series is fade to black but FOR SOME REASON the 3rd cover has them both butt naked.  But on a less superficial note, the story is about two teachers who start dating.  And while cute at points, I was just underwhelmed.  I think a part of it, is the fact that this behaves like a stereotypical high school romance...and while set in a high school...these are grown ass women not 15 year olds.  So I have less patience with the, “Gosh when will I get to kiss my girlfriend?” bullshit.  I mean, I would hesitate to call it bad...but it’s just not a good version of it’s brand of bullshit.

Absolute train-wreck, this is hands down the worst Yuri I have ever bought.  The story is nonsensical and all over the place.  There is a love rival who’s trying to break the two of them up so she can get with Gwyn...but then switches mid-gear to put in a lot of effort to bring them together intentionally...but she also still wants to hook up with Gwyn...it’s very ????????????  The main conflict of Gwyn is hiding their gender so they can play basketball on the boy’s team (not well explained) is built up hugely and resolved with a hand flick.  There is a melodramatic moment where a school nurse says more or less, “GIVE IT UP YOU’LL NEVER BE A BOY!” And it’s like “OH SHIT! The fact that Gwyn is on the basketball team is cause he’s a transboy trying to live life as a boy! Oh gosh it makes so much more sense now!”  But the author seems to not even know that trans people exist cause the story bumbles along as if that scene never happened.  The closest we get is at the end Gwyn is like, “Look I’m learning to do make-up on myself to make you happy lawl!” Which is I GUESS supposed to be, “NO NO DON’T WORRY ALL OF GWYN’S GENDER STUFF WAS JUST THERE TO MAKE THE MAIN CHARACTER SEXUALLY CONFUSED WHEN SHE DISCOVERS GWYN’S TRUE GENDER!  HER TRUE GENDER IS 100% CIS WOMAN CAUSE SHE DID MAKE-UP ONCE! IT’S FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!” Like whaaaaaaaaat?  And it ends on a very random scene which doesn’t really fit in with the rest of the story.  Ugh just very bad do not interact!

At an all girls catholic school a young woman falls for a mysterious foreign student.  I grabbed this cause it’s gay and I overall like Asumiko Nakamura’s work (she also does Doukyusei, double mints, and others.)  However I was just not grabbed with this title.  I just felt like I wasn’t getting what was making the MC pants on head obsessed with Steph.  Also the lead’s mother tells her that she’s getting divorced and therefore will no longer have money to pay for the university and she’s framed like a super bad person for this.  Like I get why the MC (a teenager) would think that something like that is THE END OF THE WORLD! But I remember them really framing the mom like a selfish bitch for this...when like...it’s well established that her mom and dad’s relationship has been toxic for YEARS and that they TRIED SO HARD to fix it.  OH WELL!  This might be good but it just didn’t grab me in the 1st volume.

How would the F!MC act dealing with the first years that turned into kids (maybe from a potion incident that went wrong?)

I love the baby/kiddo Headcanons ☺️

~ Ace will probably be the most troublesome one, no doubt about that. But he’ll be less of one than he usually is.

~ He is going to not listen to you just because “it’ll be fun”. The other kids (Mainly Deuce and Sebek) will make sure to keep him in order though.

~ You have to promise him Cherry Pie just to make sure he stays in line and will eat his vegetables. He’ll probably even make you feed him just to anger the other kids.

~ You can also promise him card games later if he will do something you ask of him. And he swears he’ll beat you at them. (This time-)

~ Since Deuce isn’t a delinquent (yet) he’ll probably be a relatively good kid, due to how he helped his mother out a lot when he was younger.

~ He’ll listen to you and make sure the other kids are in order. He’ll basically act like the man of the house (and/or dorm)

~ However he does get a bit in embarrassed when you smile at him and ask for a high-five. Since he didn’t know how to deal with girls, and still doesn’t.

~ If you’re busy with something he’ll make sure everyone is safe and make sure no one (Ace) is going to bother you or stress you out.

~ Jack will be a good kid, no doubt about that. But he will be the one that wants the most attention. (As the jealous little tsundere he is)

~ Anyone that gets close to you he growls at to scare them away. If you tell him to be nice to the other kids, he’ll listen, he’ll be irritated about it though.

~ He’ll always make grabby hands at you, wanting you to pick him up! If you ask if you can put him down he’ll just give you a pout, and wrap his arms and legs around you... that means “no.”

~ While it’s “Nap Time” he wants to be in your lap and for you to pet his ears and tail. Jack will be drifting to sleep at that point.

~ Epel will be the kid that’s on and off when it comes to listening and following directions. But mostly he’s good about it!

~ And when it comes to snack time he’ll eat apple sauce. (No surprise there!) Like Ace, he’ll want you to feed him yourself.

~ And when it comes to making something! Let him bake with you! He wants to do something with you one-on-one and this is the exact thing to do!

~ But when you praise him and the other kids see it. When you’re not looking Epel is definitely going to stick his tongue out at the other kids since he got your attention this time!

~ Sebek is one loud kid. No surprise there. He will listen to you though if you tell him to keep his voice down.

~ If one of the kids don’t listen to you he’ll make sure to repeat your rule to them!... Very loudly this time...

~ Sebek swears he’ll protect the dorm because he’ll be a great bodyguard! Just tell him he’s doing great and give him a treat for doing so!

~ He is also going be the kid that loves being praised in front of others, except he’ll just give a smirk to the other kids as you pat his head and say that he’s a great kid.

His honesty and confidence are the most appealing of his traits, and MC realizes that he’s the sort of person that can be easily trusted.

He’s far from a regular delinquent though, as for what he lacks in force he more than makes up in intelligence. He seems to form a strange attachment to the MC who has so far reciprocated his strange attempts at friendship, though it’s clear that his understanding of such concepts is rather skewed.

He talks about an unseen lover that he left behind and is separated from, but nobody is sure just who exactly that is. Still, he seems to have taken an unusual interest in MC regardless. Whether that is good or not, MC isn’t sure just yet.

     Pretty Rhythm (and it's male version king of prism)

sion)- So this is an ice skating/idol kinda think. It has music, fashion, and some good drama. It gets very strange. This series is a delightful drug trip. Especially the king of prism movie/series is something else. Well I just want Levi to wtf about it with me. 

(Yeah it can get a bit boring since it's an idol anime. Much like the Pripara series, but like at one point one girl gets processed by a dress. Where else can you get that?)

                 Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! (Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei Bu Love!) - It's a magical boy series. It's 90 percent comedy and 90 percent gay, the rest is hot springs. It's honestly a lot of fun. As a lover of magical girl anime Levi will surely enjoy this spoof of the genre. (Also watch Cute High Earth Defense Club Happy Kiss!)

           Zombieland Saga - Zombie Idol girls. Enough said. It's honestly fun to watch.

The Case Files of Jeweler Richard (Housekisho Richard-shi no Nazo Kantei)- This one is like a detective story but with gemstones. It's very interesting. It has some interesting facts and it's a bit like Holmes and Watson but without murder. *Also Richard looks very good*

                                        Ascendance of a Bookworm (Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen)- A girl that loves books gets reborn into a world where books don't exist, so she has to find a way to make them herself. This is a very good anime. The heroine is very knowledgeable and it's a fun anime to watch. (Dr.Stone is also an anime that is a bit similar to this one, so might as well watch that too.)

             Beelzebub 

Yakitate!! Japan - An anime about making bread in Japan. It's an a bit older anime and it's pretty long but it is pretty interesting. It follows a typical sport anime formula but with bread.

             Haikyuu!! - Volleyball anime. The boys are pretty hot. *My fave is Kenma.* 

           Asmodeus

Free! - Hot boys in swimwear. What else do you need? *You all watched this one already*

Yuri on Ice - Ice Skating but with romance. *I don't need to explain this one.*

                          Lucifer 

Chihayafuru - Japanese poem memory sport? I'm not sure how to explain this but just picture a sport anime but with more drama. It's somehow very interesting. * I dunno how good it fits but it got poems so well?* I recommend regardless.

                Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life - School/Sport/club anime but about learning the Koto. It has classical music and an interesting drama. Even some romance.

                  Mammon

Senryuu Girl - This one is about a girl that just communicates with Senryuu poems. She doesn't speak and the anime doesn't “fix” her. The boy in this one is an ex delinquent but a very good boy. It's very sweet.

Astra Lost in Space(Kanata no Astra)-some teenagers get lost in space. (It's much more than that but I don't want to spoil anything). Good drama/mystery, nice locations and good romance. Mammon might learn something from the resident Tsundere.

Uchitama?! Have you seen my Tama?- Anime about cute cats and dogs but they look like humans sometimes. It's cute and funny, the episodes are pretty short and lighthearted for the most part. *One episode is heartbreaking*

Mewkledreamy - Magical? Girl anime. They go into other people's dreams. (I dunno why I watch this one either. I think it was the cat plush)

Black butler - Not to call anyone out but you know. He is one hell of a Butler.

                                       Dance With Devils- I just love this anime so much. Demon musical with romance. I just feel like he will enjoy this one. *I use every excuse I can to at least add one otome anime lol*

My Roommate is a Cat (Doukyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue.)- It's about a guy that adopts a cat. It's cute and it's sad and the cat is very cute. Also the guy is an author.

Pretty Cure - The entire library of all the different series. That will keep him busy. It has some good friendship and team lessons. Also magical girls and pets. 

Yumeiro Patissiere - is a very cute anime about a girl that wants to become a Pastry Chef. It will probably give you diabetes.

Unreleased Rumors and Secrets: Minor’s Memory Book

There was a scandal for the drop rates of the first wish tree event in China, and those cards were never released for any other server. Some of those cards had Rumors and Secrets attached. Some people have translated some, but Gavin’s don’t seem to have been so, and I was asked in the R18 Discord to translate the R&S from our beloved Minor.

I got beaten up.

This morning, I was super bold and stuck an “evil begone” sticker onto the school bully’s lunchbox as a challenge. Well, I stuck a bunch on, and that guy suddenly came with five other guys to corner me in the alley. I straightened my back, but I felt a chill. And the result was those four words I started this entry with... I got beaten up. With a bloody nose and a swollen face, I suddenly felt that this era really has no heroes... even a strapping young lad like myself must undergo such suffering...

Suddenly, a pair of white sneakers stood before my eyes. I lifted my swollen face and struggled to focus my eyes, only to see a fierce figure. He extended a hand and grasped the bully’s neck, with steel in his gaze!

“Holy crap... it’s actually Bai! Qi! Xue! Zhang! [Bai Qi is Gavin’s Chinese name. Xuezhang is an honorific used for male seniors in school, similar to Japanese -sempai or Korean -seonbae. I will translate as Gavin-sempai for ease of understanding by a Western nerd audience.]

Today I truly got to see with my own eyes the genuine 1v5. Gavin-sempai reduced them to ashes with his hands. He glanced down at me and was gonna leave, but I grabbed onto his pant leg.

Sempai is as cold as the legends said, all he said was one word: Scram.

What a man!!!

So now my heart has one goal: I want to learn the skill of going 1v5 from sempai!

I keep trying to look for Gavin-sempai, but he heartlessly ignores me... he just keeps drinking his water or sleeping or whatever... I need to go on the attack! So I'll make a plan for perfect understanding! 

Ahem. Just "following" sempai is a dull life. Every morning at 7:30 sharp he's at the school gate, with a totally flat schoolbag. I don't know if it has any books inside it... wait, is this important to write down? No, whatever, move on. 

The first thing he does is go to the snack kiosk on the north side of the school! Break! Fast! Time! Could it be that Gavin-sempai eats an ordinary breakfast just like us puny mortal men? Oooooh~ it looks like sempai really likes to eat fishballs? This is the third day in a row he ordered them. Maybe it's bad to switch up what you eat? 

I made a special effort to go to the floor with the seniors, and went by the window of his class. Of course, usually he wouldn't be there, but!! Today he was there!! 

As I expected, he sits in the very back row, so he can go to sleep without hesitation. 

 Isn't anyone paying attention to him? Oh no, what is this feeling of admiration??? [you're gay honey] 

Sempai is tricky, I dunno where he goes after class, but he goes to the library eventually. I can't help thinking, sempai really does whatever he wants. 

Huh?! Wait a minute, why would a delinquent like sempai go to the library?! 

But even more than that, what made my jaw drop is:  I saw sempai get down a book from the top shelf for the prettiest girl in the school! And he was smiling! Smi.... ling..........

I got beaten up again... it really pains my heart to write those words y'know. Why did I try to save that four-eyes who seemed so foolish and helpless but turned out to be a scoundrel? But, isn't that a hero? The times need a hero like me!

Although maybe the times don't need a weak little chicken hero like me...

When I was knocked to the ground by that school bully, that's what I was thinking. My faith was in tatters, but I thought again of the steely eyes of Gavin-sempai, how great it would be if he was there...

Maybe God happened to hear my prayer, because sempai appeared out of the blue! With his cool left hook, he knocked the other guy to the ground. I was so moved my vision was blurred with tears.

Sempai asked me, why are you always making trouble for yourself? I said with passion, because I wanna be a hero, I can't stand to see school bullies bullying the weak. Then sempai said, don't you know they all say I'm a school bully?

In my heart I said yeah I know, but with a firm resolution I shook my head. When he looked at my eyes, the light in them suddenly took on a mysterious glint... as if he was seeing a... what? An idiot?...

Sempai is really hard to get on with. He spoke to me about what real heroism means, but this went so far beyond what I expected from sempai, for him to actually speak to me! I can't remember it I can't remember it...

Anyway! In my opinion, heroism is rushing to the rescue when there's trouble!

Today I am! a! hero!

I don't know for how many days I've been sneaking after sempai, but today I suddenly came across sempai in a real jam! It was all the school bullies who he saved me from before! Altogether there were ten of them! Damn! Using an unfair advantage! How could I, Minor, let something like this happen!

Without thinking much, I rushed out to help sempai! Of course, I was once again immediately beaten up... but I discovered that sempai does 1v10 like he's nuclear powered! So hot, so hot, I think he's hotter than Superman or Ironman! Sempai is a god in my eyes!

But sempai is really cold, he said just two words, like a dagger through my heart: "you trying to die?" [Zhao si “looking for death” in Chinese.]

I could only tell him petulantly, I'm not trying to die, this is my heroism.

Sempai snorted coldly, and said don't sneak after me anymore, it's annoying.

Hahaha? My perfect plan has already been unmasked huh?

I don't even know why I said one more thing then: Sempai, I saw you help the prettiest girl in our school get a book... won’t you...

This is the first day that I've become sempai's—no, Bai-Ge [Big Brother Bai, Gavin-Bro, Gavin-nii-san]'s little brother, hehe, suddenly I feel like I'm floating. Today I can openly walk at Bai-Ge's side. Even though I'm walking on the ground I feel like I'm on a burst of wind, wahahaha! I saw people looking at me and my expression was like that! Just like that.

But I never realized that Bai-Ge would be so strict... I was just chatting idly, mentioning that even more people were giving our school flower [the prettiest girl in school] a love letter, and Bai-Ge suddenly got a weird vibe, and made me go collect those people.

Collecting people is really tiring y'know. I had to run around to a bunch of different classrooms, and getting them to come was annoying. I don't want to do this kind of work anymore.

Bai-Ge just stared at those guys without saying anything. Was it time for me to save the show??? Remembering something I had once been told by a senior, I repeated it for them verbatim, scolding them like: Young people should put their minds on learning, and not rush into romance.

 Seeing how they were all trembling with fear made me even more excited.

After I scolded them happily, Bai-Ge walked over, and just said one line: Go take your love letters back. If you scare her, don't blame me if I get rude.

Damn, Bai-Ge is so cool! But saying that, did I just disocver a little secret that I wasn't meant to discover?! Bai-Ge's feelings for the school flower are actually...

I think Bai-Ge [Big Brother Gavin] is probably, sorta, definitely in love. Lately I have become Bai-Ge's private detective, but only specializing on our school flower [MC]. Maybe I should start calling the school flower "sis-in-law"... ah, in olden times heroes also loved beauties, right!

Bai-Ge is acting so different from Bai-Ge now~

Everyday he's at the library. If you wanna know where Bai-Ge is, just ask about where the school flower is and you'll know... he doesn't get in fights, he doesn't go to the track, he doesn't play ball. Like a shadow of his former self, I even saw him using test prep books... it brought me to tears.

In the afternoon when we were in the same gym class, I excitedly told Bai-Ge that Sis-in-Law chose to do basketball! I was thinking that thinking that Bai-Ge would want to grab a basketball court near her.

 But he said, this is fine. Fine? Fine??? What about my basketball plan... I wanted to be cool!

The volleyball court is actually closer to Sis-in-Law's basketball court than the other basketball courts are! One time I was a little careless in my aim and the ball almost hit Sis-in-Law in the head, but Bai-Ge came out of nowhere and slammed it away... how did Bai-Ge do that?!

How could he move so fast to the opposite end of the gym?!?! Is this some kind of superpower? It was instant! But Bai-Ge is so unromantic...

Sis-in-Law thanked him, but his face was even colder than when he looks at me... and just when I had been careless to try to push them together! And my thanks was that he stalked back looking at me like he was going to kill me, it hurt me down to my soul...

Today I saw another Bai-Ge [Big Brother Gavin]! And that's the Bai-Ge in a sports competition! What a man what a man what a man!!!!

In the 10 laps race, Bai-Ge actually got first! He was way ahead of the guy in second and he wasn't even out of breath!

What kind of amazing skill is this? Before I only thought he had superpowers at fighting, it looks like I have much more to learn from Bai-Ge!

Today I finally learned, even though Bai-Ge is so fierce and everybody says he's a delinquent, but when they see him running all the girls' eyes were glued to his body~

Oh, drooling.

Bai-Ge looks like he's in a pretty good mood, but when I asked him to teach me about fighting 1v10, he made me go be his private detective again.......

He was really concerned about Sis-in-Law's [MC] performance in her sprint. I don't know why he's being such a tsundere, not going himself, but making me go! And he gave me his cell phone? Why? To take creep shots? Am I, Minor, that kind of person?

I called out to Sis-in-Law, she turned her head, and luckily I was able to take a beautiful shot. It was really good looking, so Bai-Ge will definitely teach me how to 1v10 right?

Result, he! Didn't!

So Bai-Ge is "hos before bros"! [In Chinese the phrase is not so negative towards the woman; it's literally "heavy on sex light on friends"]

What could I say? All I could do was squat there watching Bai-Ge staring at the pictures in his phone, from time to time letting a silly grin show.....

Damn, Bai-Ge's smiling again! How terrifying! Love makes people lose their minds!

Bai-Ge looks so depressed recently. If I called him a sad sack before, right now he's not even a sack..... Lately it seems like all he does is stare broodily into space from love.

After brooding by the piano room, he goes to the library to brood. He keeps staring at the empty place where Sis-in-Law was sitting. I dunno what he's thinking about.

But I really never thought that a guy who slept through class would actually spend the whole afternoon staring into space in the library... could it be that Bai-Ge and Sis-in-Law had a fight?

I asked around out of curiosity. I discovered that, who knows why, but lately as soon as Sis-in-Law gets out of class she rushes away, not going to the library or the piano room. I heard she goes straight home from cram school too... could she be hiding from Bai-Ge?

God, I have such an imagination, I should write soap operas. Who can say, it might be a-ok again soon!

But getting back to the topic... should i tell Bai-Ge about this? If Bai-Ge thinks that Sis-in-Law is hiding from him, won't that break his heart?

Bai-Ge disappeared for such a long time, but today he was finally back! But he came back all covered with wounds, how could somebody not be worried! He gave me a letter in an envelope, and said it was for Lil Sis-in-Law. The envelope was intact, but it was stained with blood.

Bai-Ge must have gone to do something really dangerous, to lose so much blood! I wanted him to go to the hospital but he wouldn't go... Bai-Ge is really too stubborn!

But he was really different today. Why do I have this kind of misgiving feeling about what's going to happen? Brrrr!

He said I need to wait longer for him to teach me 1v10... damn!! If Bai-Ge wasn't injured, I really would have thrown myself on top of him and given him two cheek smooches! Bai-Ge is the handsomest! Bai-Ge is the coolest!!!

That reminds me that Bai-Ge is gonna take the gaokao [college entrance exam]. The seniors in the graduating class are all acting sentimental lately. Is Bai-Ge's goodbye for summer vacation? Hehe, I just had an idea!

Jack’s Birthday Story

This came to mind and it’s because I love him so much and good boi deserves the best. I love him. And he came home too. Although I’m late because I have school stuff to do sksksk

With a female MC!reader~ who has a crush on him. Because I DO AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH BABY BOY DESERVES THE BEST.

Y/N looked at the time, waiting for the clock to strike 12. She had been waiting for October 11th to arrive, since she knew it is Jack’s birthday. She didn't feel intimidated by him and befriended him anyway, although he's such a tsundere. She loves how he always denies helping although he's already doing it anyway. Aside from her crush on him she always felt that he helped her a lot of times, even when things were a disaster, due to Ace, Deuce, and Grim making a complete mess of themselves. She knew he’s got a kind heart, and she respects how he’s very determined.

Y/N had gone out to buy a thermos water bottle with little cactus pictures on it. It maintains the temperature of anything inside it pretty well, so that when he finishes his training his water is still cold enough to be refreshing, or if he wants to store hot water, cocoa, or tea inside it’ll be kept warm and nice. She contained it inside a paper gift bag. She fiddled her fingers to contain her excitement. It’s only 1 minute more!

Ding ding ding~!

The ringtone on her phone rang. She sprung from her room, quickly running towards his room at the Savanaclaw Dorm. She had made a promise with Leona to buy him bread during lunch for a week straight so that he’d let her in at night and she’ll be able to give Jack a surprise.

When she arrived to the dorm, she saw Ruggie still up, probably done with his chores. “Ah, Ruggie-senpai!” She greeted him with a smile. He smiled back at her, saying, “Jack is probably asleep. I heard from Leona that you wanted to give him a surprise? At night?” He asked with a concerned look. She grinned at him, her eyes glinting with confidence. “Yes, I planned to give it in secret so he’d be surprised by the morning!” She said. Ruggie laughed at her. “Oh really? Good luck then, Y/N-san.” He waved his hand and went back to his room, yawning.

She fast-tiptoed all the way to his room, gently and very carefully opening the door, peeking her eye through the crack to see if he was sleeping or not.

She saw a flurry of white on the bed, softly rising up and down. “So he’s asleep…” Her heart warmed at the thought of seeing him in a vulnerable state like this.

She slowly closed the door behind her and gently placed the bag beside his bed. She had inserted a letter inside it.

She slowly looked up to see him still sleeping. Her heart thumps loudly, seeing him in this state.

"What if I..."

Y/N leaned closer to him, her face only mere centimeters away from his. Then...

*chu*

She kissed him softly. On the cheek.

Immediately, her face went beet red, retreating after that soft touch of her skin against his.

"W-what did I just...Oh God...!" She thought, as she quickly ran and, still slowly, closed the door behind her, her face redder than Riddle's hair.

"Stupid, hahahaha how stupid! If he found out, it's confirmed you'll ruin your friendship with your best friend you idiot!!!!!" The devil on her right shoulder said, laughing as she dashed back to her dorm.

"It is alright, child. You conveyed your honest feelings to him and you will be rewarded." The angel on her left said, although not too promising in her ears.

"You both..." Y/N said in her head..

"SHUT UP!!!!"

Meanwhile...

The door to Jack's room opened, revealing Leona yawning and looking at the small present on the floor.

"You can stop pretending." He said. "Y/N left."

Jack's ears twitched, as he sat up, his face already red. "Y-yes. I...didn't expect her to actually come...this late at night." He murmured.

"She's very persistent, so..." Leona's word trailed as he saw the look on Jack's face.

"What the--what happened? Did you hit your face or something?" Leona asked, his eyes narrowing.

Jack immediately shook his head. "N-no, I'm okay, Leona-senpai! I was just feeling a bit hot!" He denied, shaking his hands.

Leona huffed and scratched his head. "Fine. I'm going back to sleep. Remember, you asked for me to tell you all this. So you be responsible with your actions. Happy Birthday. Tomorrow you're in for a treat, pup." He grinned and closed the door.

Jack was again, left alone in his room. He reached down and took the bag. He opened it to see a letter and a water bottle.

He took the water bottle, examining it. Cute cactuses with little faces smiling decorating the bottle. It was cutesy...unlike the whole perception of who he is.

Big. Intimidating. Delinquent.

But she didn't think of him that way. Y/N, although unable to use magic, always challenges him to be better. Her determination, hard-working self taught him that, she's strong. Maybe even stronger than him in will. She was kind to everyone, especially him. He felt special.

He even went far as to ask Leona's opinion about it a few days ago. The lion only laughed. "It looks like she cares about you. No one would ever give you care and love like that, except for her, don’t you think?" He asked.

Jack had thought about it for a while. Her smile always seemed to brighten his day. Her laugh, her voice. Everything about her. Made his day a lot more brighter.

"I...I want to see her smile. Make her smile." He said. 

The lion only nodded. "Then...what will you do as a brave, responsible man?” He asked. “You are one, aren’t you?”

Jack’s golden orbs looked up to his dorm leader. “I-I am! I...have to talk to her.”

Leona smirked. “Heh. Didn’t know you had it in you. Thought you were just a little pup who only knows how to bark and bite.” 

Jack ignored that comment, and he prepared himself. He thought about how Y/N, though seemingly fragile, is strong-hearted and always so supportive. How he would convey his feelings.

People usually pick on him because he's big. They pick meaningless fights with him. He never expected for anyone to accept him, though. He just wanted to constantly improve himself and one day prove he's the best. And she knew that, she understood that, she rooted for him.

He read the letter, written in cute little cursive handwriting.

"Happy Birthday, Jackie! May all your wishes come true. I know you'll get stronger and stronger every day! That's why, you're so cool and reliable! But, once in a while, don't forget to rely on me too! After all I'm the very dependable prefect! And I can teach you stuff you don't know, too! So don't be too hard on yourself, okay? Best of everything for you! ♥️"

“Of course I know who this is. Idiot...” Jack blushed.

His heart bursted at the seams when he read the letter. Aside from the letters he got from his younger siblings, he never received something as cute as this.

Cute... He blushed, tail wagging as he read the letter and held the bottle dear. He had to struggle to sleep as he couldn’t contain the excitement to see Y/N again in the morning.

6 hours later...

Y/N snored softly on her bed, the late night mission she did had worn her out. Grim, instead, is snoring loudly, still asleep on the edge of her bed, curling into a cute ball.

Little did she know, that Jack had wanted to see her in the morning to give her his thanks.

He stopped by the front gate of Ramshackle Dorm, ears a bit drooping.

Is this too forward? Will this break the relationship they have?

He shook his head and went inside, asking the ghosts where Y/N is.

“Fufufu~ She’s still sleeping, big boy.” One said.

“Yes, yes, you want to spoOOk her?” The other said.

Jack shook his head. “N-no, I just... I wanted to thank her for giving me a gift...” He explained to the ghosts.

“Huh, boring~ Okay then be our guest! Fufufu~”

The wolf trudged up the stairs, being extra careful to not make a sound.

He opened the door to Y/N’s bedroom, blushing a bit, thinking as if he’s doing a crime. He gently walked in, looking at her sleeping form.

Oh, how the tables have turned, huh?

He gently nudged her, though, he didn’t want to...erm, secretly kiss her. He knew what she did last night was quite accidental so he didn’t want to overstep his boundaries.

“Um...Y/N, wake up, please.” He said.

The girl stirred, flinching a little and opening her eyes. To her surprise, her crush is standing there, all 192 cm of him.

“J--J-Jack!!” She shouted, her body toppling to the floor, an “Oomph!” flying out of her mouth as she landed with a thump.

“Y-Y/N are you okay?!”

He helped her get up, her full height not even reaching close to his face, so she had to look up.

“J-Jack...Why are you here?” She asked, trying to fix her hair and rub her eyes to look at LEAST presentable. “You know, I haven’t taken a bath yet and I look so disheveled!” She complained, patting the creases on her pajamas.

Pajamas. She looks so cute...She wears pajamas to bed! Jack screamed internally, holding back a smile as he blushes and covers his face with his right hand.

“That’s...That’s okay! I don’t mind.” He grunted out.

She looked up at him, stopping to see his yellowish-golden eyes staring into her. He’s so...handsome. She inwardly thought.

She looked back at the bed, seeing Grim still sleeping soundly despite the noise. It’s after all, still 6 a.m.

“Why don’t we take this to the living room? I don’t want to wake Grim up, he’s grouchy this early in the morning.” She smiled. Jack nodded and followed suit.

Once they’re back downstairs, she sat on the sofa, patting the spot beside her. “Come sit down.” She softly said, yawning a bit, holding a glass of water she had taken from the kitchen on the way.

As they sat beside each other, Jack balled his fists. “How do I start this...”

“Uh...Y/N.” He started. She looked up at him. “I--”

“OH! I forgot. Happy Birthday, Jack!” She said, cutting him off. “I hope you’ll achieve your dreams, become a great person...even though you’re already great as you are.” She giggled.

That’s when his heart skipped a beat. He looked into her eyes, beaming at him with adoration and kindness.

“Y/N...Sorry, but...let me...” He whispered. She nodded. “What?”

He put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close, hugging her.

“W-wha-Jack!” She squeaked, placing her small hands on his chest, but letting them slide to his back, returning the hug.

“Thank you. For being kind to me. For being nice to me. For being supportive. Thank you for the gift. I will cherish it. You’re the best..uh..you’re the best.” He stammered, Y/N not being able to see how red his face is.

“N-NO need to thank me that much, Jack! I mean...it is your birthday. And I act that way to you because, well...everyone should be treated well! And...I admire you. You’re a great person. You’re hardworking and serious but kind. Seeing you gave me motivation and it challenged me to become better too. I...”

They paused, looking at each other.

If I don’t say it now... Y/N thought.

If I don’t tell her now... Jack thought.

“I like you, Y/N / I like you, Jack!” They said in unison, blushing furiously.

“Eh?”

“Huh?”

They looked blankly at each other, not believing their ears.

“I...You like me?” Y/N asked.

“So you really like me?” Jack asked.

A pause went on, before Y/N burst out laughing.

“Ahahahahaha! Oh my that was so funny! I didn’t know that these things could happen in real life! We confessed to each other at the same time!” She laughed, her voice filling Jack’s ears.

She’s smiling. She’s laughing. His tail wagged with happiness.

“D--don’t laugh at me! I--I said what I said, okay?” He huffed, crossing his arms. He thought she didn’t realize how badly his tail is wagging right now...

“Hehehe, I’m sorry! Now, let me freshen up and we can do anything you want today! And meet our friends too! It’s your birthday!” Y/N stood up and brushed a stray hair away from her face.

Jack smiled, looking at her with awe. “Then...are we...dating?” He asked.

She blushed. “Well, if you want to, Jack. I won’t force you to do something you don’t want to.” She shyly said.

He shook his head and stood up. “No. I’m a man, and I don’t want this to have no meaning. I...want to be your lover.” He said, a bit stumbling on his words but gently holding her hand.

EEEE he’s so cute! Y/N thought, squealing inside.

“Then...I’m in your care, Jack.” She said.

“Me...Me too.”

“Oh...and...Y/N?”

“Yeah, Jack?”

“This is payback.” He grinned.

And that’s when Y/N combusted from the overload of cuteness from him.

And thus, Y/N and Jack met their friends with blushes on their faces. No one knew yet...except for Leona. He knew what’s going on. He could really consider being a cupid now and then.

i really appreciate someone who shares the same appreciation and opinions for jumin that i do, so i'm a little curious as to why/how you've come to enjoy mlqc so much? would you recommend it? it never interested me but like... mutual jumin love makes me curious about your interest in mlqc lol

Well...lemme tell you my story of how I got into MLQC!

I was updating one of my otome games on the app store and I saw this game called “Mr. Love: Queen’s Choice”, and when I clicked on it, the description was “My super power is my super love for you” and could not stop laughing. So naturally I downloaded it. (it also had english VA which is big for me, I hate missing out on the experience of hearing a character talk to you)

The primary reason I enjoy MLQC is actually that it has a really compelling and interesting story with plot twists that are quite unexpected. The love interests are also good and well rounded because they don’t have the benefit of being route-specific (the closest to ‘routes’ you get are the ‘dates’ and ASMRs, the former of which are technically canon and the latter are,,,not exactly interactive and not meant to be listened to without headphones)

The trouble is, it’s kind of hard to explain the plot without spoilers. I

Lemme see if I can try.

Basically, the protagonist owns a TV studio that’s struggling to stay afloat, and she has to go and secure funding from a giant investment group called LFG, which is owned by one of the LIs - Victor. At first, her only concern is making connections with people - like the local semi-famous professor, a teen idol she happens to bump into and hit it off with, and her old highschool senpai who’s become a police officer - to try to boost her studio’s ratings and become profitable again.

As she’s trying to do that, she gets accidentally drawn into a plot to just go ahead and literally end all of humanity. yes, somehow that makes sense.

Basically their world has mutants/metahumans that they call Evolvers, still hidden from the population, and there are different groups of people involving that. Those who want to control and eradicate all Evol, and those who believe that Evolvers should be the only ones on the planet. Because she’s essentially a reporter, she ends up sticking her nose places it shouldn’t go.

There’s various plot twists that I can’t elaborate on, but suffice to say that as time goes on, she becomes the key to decide between whether all humans or all evolvers will die, or if maybe there’s a way to find peace.

There’s murder and mystery, hacking and kidnapping, bombs, time travel, and dimension hopping involved. If you can get through the first...8 or so chapters, it’s kind of hard to put down.

The love interests are neat too, though.

The main LIs are

Victor - who is like a much more insecure and tsundere Jumin, who also happens to cook and drive and in his highschool yearbook was voted “Most Likely to Rescue the MC from Certain Death”. He can’t admit his feelings with a straight face if his life depends on it.

Lucien - who is kind of complex and hard to explain, but he’s a very gentle and sensual character who also acts as the primary source of information and words of wisdom in the game. He will ask the object of his affection to get in bed with him without blinking and probably not be joking.

Kiro - if Zen, 707, and Yoosung played extremely aggressive mosh-pit and just merged into one man and then were voiced by Sean Chiplock (dub voice of Subaru Natsuki in Re:Zero) and also became literally the sun but a person, that would be Kiro. He seems precious and innocent but he isn’t.

Gavin - who is the old high school delinquent that’s secretly been in love with the MC since high school but could never spit it out and is now a police officer hung up on keeping her safe. He seems rough and tumble but is in fact precious and innocent.

If you like Jumin and don’t mind him being tsundere instead of kuudere, you will probably enjoy Victor, though my favorite is Lucien for other reasons. Just don’t go in thinking Victor will open up as easily as Jumin, or you’ll be super put off by him. his tsun is hardcore.
