Ouma Great War Chronicles - Episode 35: There are Things We Want to Say, But

Narrator: Tsubaki was brutally cut down by Saionji. Kaida, plunged into heartbreak, headed toward a certain place to conceal himself. At the same time, Saionji returned to the Star of Kiou headquarters to report to Reizei that the order had been executed as he wished.

scene: Star of Kiou Headquarters, Corridor

Saionji: … Shuugetsu. You were coming this way too? Do you have business with that person? Then sorry, mine is urgent. I’ll go ahead to make my report –

Nikaido: You cut him down, didn’t you.

Saionji: … Yeah… Because it was an order. Pitying him?

Nikaido: As if. He was a traitor. Of course he had to be purged.

Saionji: … That’s right.

both: …

Saionji: We shouldn’t be whittling away time here. I’ll be going ahead now.

Nikaido: Don’t wait for my permission, please, go on.

sfx: footsteps

Nikaido: (… He betrayed Rihito-sama and sided with Kaida Haru, and so invited this situation. I will definitely not act in such a foolish manner. For Rihito-sama’s sake, and thereby the empire’s sake, I will do only what I must do.)

scene: Nagao’s Workroom

Narrator: One day after disaster befell Kaida and Tsubaki, unbeknownst to Nagao or Genzuki. Wanting to apologize for the argument before, Nagao reached out to contact Genzuki.

Nagao: (Going on dawdling and hesitating like this won’t help anything. I gotta apologize to Toujirou properly. … Alright!)

Nagao: Ah… Hello, Toujirou?

Genzuki: Hello, Kei-kun!? I was just thinking I should contact you.

Nagao: Oh, ohh? Did something happen?

Genzuki: Mn. I just heard from the gods that someone apparently ransacked Tsubaki’s research laboratory. They said there’s a huge amount of blood at the scene…

Nagao: …! So, what happened to Tsubaki?

Genzuki: I still don’t know the details. But, no doubt something big happened, and I’m worried about Haru-kun too since they’ve been together a lot recently.

Nagao: You couldn’t get in contact with him?

Genzuki: Mn. I tried just in case, but it didn’t connect. That’s why I was thinking of going to Tsubaki-kun’s research lab right now. Kei-kun, will you –

Nagao: I’ll come too, anyway I’m cutting the transmission now!

scene: Bureau Corridor

Genzuki: Ah, Kei-kun!

Nagao: Been a while, Toujirou.

Genzuki: Yes, it has…

Genzuki: nh… But if we consider how he couldn’t be contacted, the chances are high… I would guess.

Nagao: … though I don’t want to think about that. The other thing that interests me is…

sfx: steps; rustle

Nagao: Here, these aren’t “marks left by ransacking,” they’re “marks left from a fight with someone.”

Genzuki: You mean, Tsubaki fought someone here?

Nagao: Strictly speaking, I don’t know about that.

Genzuki: Mm…

research staff member: Ah, Nagao-san and Genzuki-san.

Nagao: Hm? Ahh… Sorry for barging in. We heard there was an incident at Tsubaki’s research lab and came to verify what happened. Would you know where Tsubaki and Haru are now?

research staff member: No… All the research staff have been mobilized to search, but neither of their whereabouts are known. Of course we’ve checked inside the Bureau and in the surrounding areas, and they don’t seem to be at their homes either… I thought of the possibility that they were with you, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Genzuki: … Could it be, someone kidnapped them?

Nagao: That is plausible. Considering the abilities those two have, there’s plenty of potential gain in kidnapping them.

Genzuki: In that case, they wouldn’t have been killed yet, right?

Nagao: Yeah. The other possibility is that someone is pursuing them, and they’ve hidden themselves. And that would be hiding from their opponent in the fight here. If that’s the case, then Haru would go to a place that few people know about, and where he can guarantee it’s safe.

Genzuki: A place that few people know… That’s it! Could it be that place?

Shoujo manga recommendations - unrequited love

1. 360 Degrees Material

Taki is the cool yet strange guy in Mio's class. She bumps into him at the subway station after school and saves him after he almost gets pushed onto the tracks. The next day, he returns the favor by saving her from an incoming car. This marks the start of Mio's love.

2. Ai Kara Hajimaru

Sakura Ai has always loved sunflowers, as they appear like the sun, which incidentally also was the name of her first crush, Taiyou, in the 3rd grade. From since then, Ai has never had another love and has also become quite introverted, but after meeting a guy with the same name, somethings will begin to change…

3. Anta Nante Okotowari

Yui has a deep love for her "older brother" (they're not actually siblings, but are related), and she is devastated when he gets married. While at the wedding, Yui meets a sobbing boy, Kaoru. It turns out that his cousin (that he was in love with) is the one Yui's brother is marrying. When Yui moves into a boy's dorm so she can seek out new love, she finds that the head of the dorm is none other than Kaoru!

Ritsuka, who likes to watch the snow as it falls, has an unrequited love for Fubuki, who lives with an older woman. Ritsuka and Fubuki fall in love, but Fubuki still has past debts toward the older woman, who was his dead brother's fiancee.

6. Bambi to Dhole

Yukimi is her real name but everyone calls her Bambi. She is the student discipline committee member who locks students out of the school if they're a minute late, but sneaks cigarette breaks on the roof. Lone wolf transfer student Tetsu Nagasawa hops the fence after she locks it and breaks her cigarette in half when he finds her on the roof, but he's a super nice guy to a mother and baby on the train. Bambi already has a boyfriend but will the wolf steal her heart?

7. Celeste Blue

Eishi is one of those popular guys that are smart, good looking, and is good at sports. However, he thinks people and "love" are bothersome and would rather not deal with either of them. When his teacher told him to help this girl, Uta, to study, he dreaded the idea of having to stick with such an annoying girl. Soon, though, his heart starts to lighten up towards her.

8. Datte, Kimi ga Warau kara

Let’s get into a time machine and return to that time. Where it was always fun and you were always laughing, to that time... "I only have three more months to live" Yui who just transferred to a new school in the countryside becomes Ryo’s classmate. Yui who is suffering from an illness has a "wish" that she can’t tell anyone, but Ryo wants to grant her that wish but… After death, reality hits Ryo and Yui. This is the story of the eternal promise that was made by the two of them.

Arisa has had a crush on classmate Nageki since the school festival, but has never spoken to him. Will she be able to strike up a conversation before they part ways at graduation?

Happy birthday, Aki Yamato!

Today in Japan, December 16th, is also Aki Yamato’s birthday! Voiced by Tomo Muranaka (村中知), Aki is a 21 year old from Fukuoka. Upbeat and energetic, Aki loves anything military related: from the smallest combat knives to the largest naval warships. She has a massive collection of airsoft and replica guns, including several out of production airsoft weapons. Aki is also very knowledgeable about wilderness survival and military tactics, and is a crack shot with her airsoft guns. She cares a lot about military hardware and military history.

Aki enjoys survival games and plastic models, as well as FPS games. She’s been known to bring a four-tube MANPADS (an anti-aircraft rocket launcher) party streamer into the office. She’s also rather trigger happy, especially when it comes to airsoft or paintball tournaments. She’s usually thinking about armies or weaponry, so much to the point it’s affected her conversational skills. She enjoys play fighting with other idols. Aki has been shown to be rather enthusiastic about muscles, and was pleased to be in the unit Enjin as it’s full of well-built girls. She originally clashed with Takumi Mukai as she didn’t understand the delinquent lifestyle, but they became fast friends after an arm wrestling match. Aki was named after IJN Yamato, largest and heaviest battleship ever constructed, with her birthdate the same as the ship's commissioning. She also actually gained her voice through the anime, not any voting.

Aki doesn’t have a solo song, but does sing a cover of HIGH PRESSURE. She also sings in Junjou Midnight Densetsu (純情Midnight伝説/Innocent Midnight Legend), Max Beat, and Sayonara Andromeda (さよならアンドロメダ/Farewell Andromeda). As previously mentioned, Aki is part of the unit Enjin with Rina Fujimoto, Takumi Mukai, Ryo Matsunaga, and Natsuki Kimura, and is also part of Healthy Survival (ヘルシーサバイブ) with Nene Kurihara and Seika Suzumiya, Queen’s Majesty (クイーンズ・マジェスティ) with Mizuki Kawashima, Kotoka Saionji, Meiko Namiki, and Shiki Ichinose, CodeName A-K-I with Chiaki Kurokawa and Akiha Ikebukuro, and Shiny Blue Festival (シャイニーブルー・フェスティバル) with Tsubaki Egami and Yukimi Sajo. I actually had this ep’s main performance ‘“spoiled”’’’ for me not by non-spoiler-tagging heathens on tumblr, but by the game’s Anime Dress Selection event when I went to play this morning, haha. not that having We wish you a Merry Christmas in this ep was a spoiler at all, though.

I hate that I have noticed this, it’s not even remotely a big deal ESPECIALLY for an anime for 5-year-olds but it is now impossible to un-notice and it really does happen in every ep..... please let me forget.....

oh, apparently these three getting their photos taken with RM were the winners of the twitter contest to try recording for aiparade that happened a little while back. good for them. I wonder if they actually look like that. (well, obviously not with pink eyes or whatever... you know what I mean)

why does only Nono get Sora’s fashion magic cast on her?? why not Risa?? why can’t Risa look special too?! why does Nono get everything all the time hgrghhegrrgrrrhhkj (my immense dislike of Nono that I buried deep inside since oldkatsu ended rises to the surface once again......)

at some point this week I remembered how past aikatsu xmases have always involved a new stage, so the idea of them putting together a performance of We wish you a merry christmas with EVERYONE like a precure movie song was something I’d considered. and then when they showed everyone getting ready backstage, and said that it would be a performance from all the schools simultaneously I thought.... what if!!!!........... but this... .is...... .hh something...... hah a ahha...... , ..... god I wish the Venus Ark and Akari gen girls weren’t there, it makes it so much worse....... I think this is officially the only thing I have really not liked in aiparade so far
