𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐌𝐘 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐓. | Tsu'tey!Daughter
⤷ second installment of 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒, coming soon. ✎ᝰ ── based on the song : my tears ricochet , by taylor swift.
⤷ part 1 out of 2 | summary for part 2 is currently unavailable.
ˏˋ °•*⁀➷ set before the events of atwow.
𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 :
Being the daughter of the great warrior Tsu'tey, came with some tremendous baggage and demanding pressure. Not only did you have high expectations to reach, but it seemed as if he was always trying to one-up the Olo'eyktan's daughter through you. How bizarre.
Even so, nothing could come between the remarkable bond you two shared. Over the years, Tsu'tey's pride for you seemed to blossom to new heights as you grew. From witnessing your Ikniyama, to fending off the young boys in the clan that feasted their eyes on you.
Alas, peace tends to be ripped away in blind moments of bliss. It's always right when you least expect it, is what is always said.
For a man so callous and hyperaware, nothing could prepare him for such dire consequences as the doomsday of war collapses on them.
He'd always tell you how brave and capable you are, preparing you for these very crucial moments.
But now the hands of death are glooming over you.
— So what does bravery do in retrospect of wishing you could stay within your home's grasp for eternity?

You're all correct saying Tsu'tey would be a great role model for Lo'ak. Here are some drabbles about that...
648 words total.
No warnings needed.
Characters: Jake, Tsu'tey and Lo'ak.
~~~Exhibit A~~~
Sitting next to each other, Tsu'tey and Jake have been talking for a while already, about which clans are where now, what they are doing...
But now the chief saw that Jake being this attentive didn't happen often, and decided to tell him what was bothering him, "To parents who don't see their child, there is one who was obedient to the expectations given to him by his parents, and the one who isn't. I remember."
Jake was a little confused where this was supposed to be heading, but he tilted his head with an empty half-smile, "What?" He thought that Tsu'tey- childless- was going to judge his parenting.
Tsu'tey nodded, putting a hand on his shoulder briefly, "What you said. Your brother was the one people admired, the better one, and you were not."
Jake considered that Omatikaya chiefs see the children of their clan like their own, and this was an analogy, not meant to hurt him. Tsu'tey continued, "Me and my brother were also like this, you know."
He removed his hand on him, then looked casually over the Omatikaya walking around home. "I was the warrior people loved and my parents 'cut me slack' for that," Jake chuckled at that, "but Arvok... He did not impress them all that much, and my parents used him while he chased their approval."
"Do not make the same mistake our parents did, Jake Sully." He finished with a stern look.
Jake flattened his ears, he felt burdened by things he just hasn't digested from his life as a human. It's not wise to ignore it. He sat and huffed, as Tsu'tey waited to be acknowledged, "Yeah..."
~~~ Exhibit B ~~~
Because Lo’ak was bored out of his mind and didn’t really want to try interacting with the clan kids, he instead came down to watch the chief train the next warriors. As usual, the child being a bystander didn’t bother Tsu’tey, and that alone felt like openess for Lo’ak to be taught as well.
There weren’t many students around yet, it seems it was early, and everyone stood around waiting. It was the perfect moment to approach Tsu’tey with questions. Lo’ak walked up closer, to be heard, "Olo'eyktan how do you deal with the RDA so quickly?”
Tsu'tey blinked, yet stared at his eyes, considering what to say that would give back some pride that kid made him feel, "I'll tell you one thing."
Lo'ak nodded, despite that Tsu'tey wasn't done, "I don't want your father thinking I'm pushing you to fight... Just sit with it, yes?"
He huffed, being asked not to practice what is front of him daily seemed unreasonable. The chief looked to his warriors, wishing they asked him such things, and gave in, "Gah, you can tell him. Just be careful, I will show you.”
The chief pulled out his bow from his chest, and falsely aimed on his field of view, but really, he was teaching him how to wield it for the trick he was to show. "I saw that guns can shoot fast, many rounds, but they're not very accurate. Only a few of the RDA are warriors. Learning to shoot multiple arrows accurately... I can have an advantage."
The Na'vi child looked curiously to his arms, not seeing much difference in how to hold the arrow. But then Tsu'tey pulled out one more arrow, "I have 3 fingers here, then 2 arrows between each."
"Huh..." Lo'ak's tail was held upwards, much like Tsu'tey would typically do, assuming that would help him understand. Tsu’tey looked at him with a proud smile, "You know what I could do If I had 4 fingers?"
"Three arrows..?” The young Na’vi asked
Tsu'tey nodded once, "That's right."
Lo’ak’s eyes widened a little, then he looked down at his hand, picturing the arrows between them... And suddenly, his fourth finger didn’t seem like that much of a problem.

HELP MEEEEBDJSBSB
-ˋˏ 𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐰 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 + 𝐚𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐰 ˎˊ
— characters: jake sully, tsu’tey, tonowari
— warnings: eighteen plus only content, minors do not interact. link is included with the scenarios, viewers discretion is advised.
jake sully:
throat training: “tap my thigh twice if you need to take a breath, baby.” he presses a final kiss to your lips before replacing it with his cock, slapping the tip against your cheeks. “there you go, such a good fuckin’ girl.” it takes you quite a bit to get used to the stretch of his cock in your throat, the burn becoming more and more comfortable with every thrust.
submitting: “not yet, baby,” he felt his cock slide through your folds, not your pussy quite yet. his eyes roll back at the feeling of the friction, crying out your name. “please, fuck.. i need you so bad, give it to me.”
pussy eating: “missed this pussy s’much..” laying right between your legs, his breath was fanning over your sopping cunt, waiting to devour you entirely. your thighs are already trembling around his head, ready for him. “you don’t even know how much i miss your taste.”
tonowari:
restraints: with your hands tied up, you’re incapable of touching your boyfriend, barely could see him too. “see me yet, sweetheart?” the only way you would catch a glimpse was from the small mirror in front of you but tonowari almost always had you cheek pressed up to the counter, fucking you raw ‘til you had tears rolling down your dainty cheeks.
pussy stretching: with the help of your good friend tonowari, you learn how to endure the pain of taking big cocks, by fucking the one and only. “look at me, sweet girl,” he’s trying to divert your attention back to him but you’re too mesmerized by the way his cock’s stretching out your tight pussy. “c’mon, look at daddy, baby.”
thigh suffocation: this happens when he’s feeling a bit meaner with you, treating you much rougher. don’t break his rules and he won’t punish you, that was his deal. “shut your fucking mouth,” he snarled, shoving his cock deeper down your throat. you were gagging and blowing bubbles of saliva with every breath you tried to take, only suffocating yourself even more.
tsu’tey:
back breaking: “stay still,” his voice was raspy as he mumbled under his breath. “stay fucking still.” his strokes stayed persistent, thrusting his cock into you at a steady rhythm, and making you moan with each harsh thrust. “tey, mm!” your whimper was interrupted by his hand clamping over your mouth, silencing you. “shut up, you’re gonna get us caught.”
good morning: waking up is never fun, there’s no doubt in that. but tsu’tey makes you think differently when he decides to awake you with a surprise of his own. “hmph, hm..” the ache between your thighs start to grow, feeling warm. “s’just me, petal.. relax.” slowly but surely, you felt the burn of a stretch too, tsu’tey’s finger sliding into your pussy without a second though.
frustration fuck: “always making me mad,” he snarls, tightening his grip on your throat. his cock slid in and out of you at lightning speed, watching as tears of pleasure continued to roll down your cheeks. “bad girls get what they deserve, don’t they, petal?” he hissed at you.

she my wife my wife
Tsu’tey x reader
So when you decide to marry Tsu’tey you had thought your marriage with him will be good. As Tsu’tey is a wonderful husband he had accepted, your wishes of going between your avatar and human body. You had respect and honored Tsu’tey role in the clan was warrior and clan lifestyle. Even due Tsu’tey and many other Navi were coming, to understand their human mates or friends there were some stuff they had fully understand.
Y/n “ ……..” you had waken up early in your mates home as, you need to get back to the human base for more oxygen packs. You soon removed your husband arms around you and got out of bed, making sure to cover your husband in the blanket.

you're gonna go far | 9
pairing: jake sully x neytiri x tsu'tey x fem!human! reader summary: a scientist arrives on pandora (unwillingly) a year after the exile of the rda. now she must deal with the likes of a clan leader, a great warrior, and a thanator rider. word count: 6.3k warnings: mentions of suicide (not explicit!)
read on AO3
Tsu’tey remembered when he first came back from death.
It was like clawing out of the ground and feeling as though there was dirt filling his lungs. He remembered Arvok hugging him and crying into his shoulder when he found him awake. He remembered his father sitting nearby and quietly thanking the Great Mother for this second chance, for this mercy, even though they didn’t deserve it. He remembered his mother calling him a gift and that Eywa favored him, that he was the true and chosen Olo’eyktan to the People. Like he was some type of god that Eywa created herself.
He remembered feeling so horrible that his mother didn’t even see him as her son anymore. But a god of sorts. An idol to look to.
Someone so perfect that no one, not even a demon or the daughter of a “simple” Tsahik deserved his attention or praise.
The People celebrated once they learned that Tsu’tey had survived the battle, even when all the odds were against him. In a way, they looked to him as some sort of god too. Not to the extent that Artsut did but idolized him, nonetheless. Tsu’tey remembered feeling frozen as if he were turned to stone, hardened into an empty vessel.
He didn’t feel like himself. He just felt exhausted.
All. The. Time.
And no matter what he did, that exhaustion or feeling of wanting to sleep for a long, long time, never left him. He was just stuck in this state where he was both living but half buried in the ground.
It wasn’t until Tsu’tey confessed to what he was feeling to Jake who then put everything he felt into words that he could not—still couldn’t—quite understand.
“It’s a common thing we humans feel,” Jake explained once when it was just the two of them in the middle of the night.
Sitting in a tree, watching a lively celebration far below. That world seemed so far away at the time. And it was then that Tsu’tey felt like the god his mother praised him to be. Disconnected from the world that he so cherished but watched over them with a protective heart.
“That exhaustion, truthfully, that probably won’t ever go away. This depression can wear us down until all we want to do is sleep without worrying about waking up. Living doesn’t feel the same anymore. Almost like it’s a burden to both you and everyone around you. And then comes the exhaustion.”
Tsu’tey stared at Jake, both thoughtfully and to memorize every detail of the dreamwalker’s face. “Have you felt this?” It was the predictable question at the time. He seemed to know exactly what Tsu’tey felt, so much so, that it sounded as if he lived through—still went through this experience.
Humans were as peculiar as they were dangerous. They hid their feelings. They didn’t allow themselves the freedom to feel as if someone or something was holding them back. They were often birds trapped in a steel cage when the way out was right in front of their face.
That was a certain observation one would notice if they paid close attention. Tsu’tey paid Jake a lot of attention. Memorized his micro-expressions. Noted the way he hid behind an impenetrable wall with a single window he only allowed certain people to look through.
It’s what Tsu’tey imagined loving Jake would be like. Finding ways to climb over that wall to embrace that lonely soul on the other side.
Which was why he was keenly aware of the fact that Jake never answered his question. But instead said, “Many people don’t always have someone to keep them above the surface. That is why most end up drowning forever until they fall asleep. It’s okay to feel these things, even if they’re hard to acknowledge. And if you need to talk, I’m always here. I’m too human not to help you, even if you don’t approve of me.”
While Jake’s words were somewhat flowery and cautious in delivery, there was Neytiri, who grounded him with her very blunt words.
“You are not a god. You are Tsu’tey.”
She did not see him as a god. And he was grateful for that.
Perhaps that was why he so easily fell for her after the war. Or, rather accepted his feelings after forcing them back because of his guilt with Sylwanin.
You did not see him as a god.
And he was relieved by that.
Yet that relief would soon be buried beneath the horror of something else he saw whenever looking at you.
It was himself.
Half alive. And half buried in the ground.
And Tsu’tey had this strong urge to start digging at the ground with his bare fingers. Until his nails were filled with dirt. Until his clean skin was dirtied. Until they bled.
He owed you that much.
“That demon did this!” His mother, Artsut hissed while she knelt next to Arvok’s sleeping body in some form of protection. She stared up at him, pleading, desperate, and angry. “Will you let that creature run free like you did before? Look what that thing’s done! She’s hurt your blood! Be Olo’eyktan and exact punishment on the ones that hurt your family!”
“Reeds didn’t do this.” His mate, Jake protested calmly—as calmly as he could when it came to Artsut. His arms were wrapped around him so tightly his muscles twitched whenever he moved, tail lashing behind him as he continued. “Arvok had already explained what happened. The Tipani warriors were going for Hell’s Gate. Arvok had tried to stop them, they got pissed and injured him—”
“And who’s fault is that?!” Artsut snapped viciously, eerily resembling that of a palulukan. “If that demon hadn’t landed here none of this would be happening!” She turned her fiery gaze onto Tsu’tey, her pleading becoming more adamant as she spoke. “You must kill it! This is your doing, you never should’ve let it live! And now our clan is in danger because of that creature—”
Jake scoffed, his tail swinging now, “You’d love that, wouldn’t you?”
Artsut hissed at him, “You do not deserve to speak, demon! I should have connived my son to kill you the first day you came to us—”
“Enough!” Tsu’tey hissed as he stalked forward and grabbed his mother by the arm.
“Tsu’tey—” She tried protesting only to be interrupted by his hiss.
“Be quiet, mother.” He led her out of his shared hut and went outside.
Once they were further away from the entrance, he let her arm go.
“My son—”
“No, mother.” Tsu’tey didn’t want to hear any excuses or laments that would make him feel awful for putting her in her place. “I’ve warned you and you’ve gone too far many times now. You are my mother, I do not wish to remove you from my children’s lives—”
She gasped and grabbed his wrist, “Do not be so cruel to your mother! You would prevent me from seeing my own grandchildren?!”
“You do not even accept the one son that I have!” Tsu’tey snapped but stopped when her eyes widened. He did not wish to shout. He did not wish for any more division. But she wasn’t making it any easier on him. So he continued slowly, “Jakesully is my mate. Neytiri is my mate. I will not allow you to keep disrespecting them. They are a part of my life, they make me happy. Shouldn’t that be what you wish for your own son? Do you not want me to be happy?”
Artsut scoffed in disbelief as if what he was saying were unbelievable, “Of course, I do. I wish for nothing but eternal happiness for my one and only boy—”
“I am not your only child.” He said gently, his heart falling. “Your son nearly died—”
“I know this! Do you think I do not know?!” Her eyes became glassy, her grip on his wrist tightening. “But know this, son. I do want your happiness. That is what any mother wants for her children.”
Tsu’tey watched her with a frown. He wished, he really wished he could believe her. Maybe a part of him did—wanted to. But he couldn’t help this unease in him whenever she was around him and his mates. He’d always feel her disapproval. No matter what flowery words she’d say, she would not change her opinion of Neytiri, Jake, Neteyam, and even their unborn little one.
But today he would not push any further. Today he was simply too tired.
“You should return to your home.” He told her and pulled his wrist free from her grasp. “Arvok will stay with us tonight—”
“Tsu’tey—”
“It is closer to the Tsahik’s where she can come and go freely to check on him.” He turned his back to her as the next words spilled out of his mouth like blood. “I do not want you near during that time. Or for a while. Not until I say you can come.”
There was a beat. And then there was sniffling. Tsu’tey refused to look at her. “You are abandoning your mother! You would do this to your own mother, who carried you for so long—” Tsu’tey ignored her words and ignored the pang in his chest as he forced himself to walk away. “It is that demon that has done this to us! They keep destroying everything we hold dear! If you will not kill it then I will—”
At that, Tsu’tey whirled around and stalked toward her as he spoke warningly, “You should be thanking Eywa that your son isn’t dead! You should be thanking our Great Mother that the demon had brought Arvok back instead of leaving him for dead! You should be thanking her that the arrow did not hit him but the demon instead! And yet here you are, plotting to kill Eywa’s favored!”
At this, Artsut scoffed, “Eywa would not favor a stain on her beautiful creation—”
“As Olo’eyktan I order you to stay away from the de…” He winced, not wanting to sound as venomous as his mother did. “—from the dreamwalker. I will carry out the will of Eywa as I intend to do. As this clan is intended to do. And because of that, she is under my protection now. She has saved my brother—your son. She has earned this right. You will leave her alone.”
“And what if I don’t?!” Artsut shouted as Tsu’tey turned his back away from her and began stalking back to his hut. “Will you punish your own mother?! Will you kill me?! Tsu’tey? Tsu’tey, answer me! Do not turn your back on me! Tsu’tey—”
Her cries continued to ring in his ears, making him tremble.
He did not feel like a god.
He just felt like a failure.
Failure of a son.
Failure of a mate.
Failure of a leader.
He did not return to his hut.
You were lost. That was fine.
To be honest, you weren’t even focusing enough to go where you wanted. Frankly, you weren’t even sure how to get to your mother’s burial from here. All you did was wander around until you were far enough from the clan, until all you were surrounded by was forest until your legs gave out to the point where you couldn’t walk anymore.
There was a large leaf nearby, big enough for you to duck under it and sink to the ground as it covered your head from the rain. There was still a bit of daylight out, so you had more than enough time to stay there. Because getting back up was going to be difficult.
And you weren’t even sure if you wanted to keep going.
Your mother’s songcord was dangling from your hands now as silent tears spilled down your cheeks. You cried. And cried. And cried. And cried. And cried. Until you were hallowed. Until you weren’t sure if there was anything left of you at this point.
God, you hadn’t cried in so long.
You were dead. Your real body was dead. That wasn’t even your choice either. You had been poisoned, you died, and now you were in a new body.
None of it had been your choice. You didn’t want this. If you had the choice—if it were really up to you—you would’ve let the poison kill you. Anything was better than living in this hell where everything just seemed to be against you.
No matter what you did to make your situation better, something always came along and tackled you back to the ground, pushing you further and further until you began sinking again.
Death could’ve ended all of that.
But even that choice was taken out of your hands.
You could’ve done it now.
You could’ve gone back to Hell’s Gate, grabbed your knife, and…
And—and—and—
For a moment, your mind was quiet as you stared at your mother’s songcord. As you stared at the bone that ended the string.
You were a coward.
Something rustled a few feet away from you. Your body froze and considered the sounds around you. The rustling continued, drawing a little too close for your comfort.
With that, you ducked from under the leaf and moved away from the sounds.
Because even if you somewhat wanted to die, you sure as hell knew it wouldn’t be at the hands of a palulukan.
No. You were just a coward.
Dying took bravery. And you didn’t feel too brave at the moment.
All you could do was stagger forward until you found something to latch onto. To take you away from this until you felt brave enough.
Until then, you kept wandering through the forest. Letting rain pour onto your already wet and somewhat matted hair.
You tugged at one of the locks and hummed to yourself. You should do your hair.
At that, you kept going until eventually you found a waterfall. By then the rain had finally let up, the air was cool, and the smell of rain stayed with you despite the downpour disappearing.
It would’ve been calming if you allowed it to be.
The area itself was beautiful even in this dreary weather. You found a rock just a few feet away from the mainland and jumped onto it. Sitting down with your legs crossed, you leaned over the edge a bit, staring back at your reflection in the water.
Well, you supposed you looked as horrible as you felt. Your hair was one of the main things contributing to that. The braid that Neytiri made was still intact but the rest of your hair was just a wild mess. It was beginning to mat together and form dreads.
So, not particularly happy with the look and wanting a good enough reason to distract your hands and mind, you began doing your hair.
Diving into the waters wasn’t a good idea considering your healing injuries. Instead, you ducked your head into the waters. It was nice. Feeling the cool water against your skin, waking you up slightly. You would’ve stayed like this for a while and you did, considering you could hold your breath for a while.
The tension in your muscles relaxed and right when you were feeling yourself being pulled to sleep, something yanked on your queue, bringing your head out of the water and causing you to fall onto your back.
“Ow!”
“Skxawng!” You looked up only to regret it when you found Tsu’tey scowling down at you. “What do you think you are doing?!”
You rolled your eyes and tugged your queue out of his grasp, “Obviously I came to drown myself. Congrats, you just saved the inconvenience.” Tsu’tey frowned, looking incredibly serious. You looked up at him and sighed, “I’m kidding. Do you guys not make depressing jokes now and then? Or is that only a human thing?”
He didn’t respond and you weren’t exactly waiting for one. Instead, you turned away from him and began parting your hair. You didn’t have a comb so running your hands through your thick curls was the best you could do for now. The best you could do at this point was take two strands and begin twisting them.
Tsu’tey appeared next to you, looming and watching you do your hair with a huff, “You’re doing that wrong.”
You glared, “I know how to do my own hair thank you.”
He didn’t move and you ignored him as you kept going with your hair. That was until you felt longer fingers wrap around yours and remove it from your hair.
“Hey—”
You felt his hands in your hair. Instantly, you went to yank yourself away from him only to stop when you felt his fingers move. It wasn’t rough or harsh, it was actually rather careful and precise. Any other day you would’ve shoved him away and told him to never touch your hair again but seeing as his braids were pretty neat and concise, you reconsidered.
Hell, maybe you’ve lost it. You were seriously letting Tsu’tey—the man who hated you the most—do your hair.
Maybe when you died you somehow went into a whole other universe. Yeah, that had to be it.
He was mumbling under his breath in Na’vi. You caught some words here and there like “humans” and “useless” a few times. But other than that his voice had been too quiet and quick for you to understand or at least translate some of the things he was saying.
Eventually, his hands disappeared from your hair. “There.” You watched as he stepped away from you to grab a bow from the ground, stretching his fingers, his face turned away from you so that you couldn’t see his expression.
You felt your hair to find some of it braided while the rest would’ve been left to mat together again. You tugged on it thoughtfully, perhaps you could let them turn into locs. It would be easier anyway. A lot more manageable considering you often forget to do your hair these days.
Next to you, Tsu’tey had also grabbed an arrow and approached the edge of the rock, pointing his bow down at a group of fish floating around the rock the both of you were on. You halfheartedly watched as the arrow flew into the water seconds later and hit one of the fish.
Absentmindedly you tugged on another braid as he went into the water to grab the arrow, “The Tsahik is looking for you.” He took the arrow from the water and yanked the fish off the tip. “She says you should not be up right now but resting. She is very upset at your disappearance.”
You didn’t respond. Tsu’tey looked back at you expectantly and you frowned, “So you came looking for me?”
A part of you was half-joking and half-annoyed when asking the question. You just wanted to be alone for a while. And dealing with Tsu’tey was the last thing you wanted right now.
“Yes,” Tsu’tey responded easily as he threw the dead fish to the spot next to you. You cringed away from it as he drew back another arrow. “And by the time I am done here, you will be coming with me to be checked by her.” You glared at the ground. A beat went by. “I will not take no for an answer. Your wounds are still healing—”
“Can we just, can we wait for a while?” You dropped your hands from your hair and into the waters. “I just—I need a place to breathe, okay? Back there, it’s just too suffocating. And I really don’t want to fight today. I’m too tired, so please…”
You didn’t look at him. But you did hear the arrow release and hit the water. Another beat went by. The waters slushed as he moved, “So you came here. For peace.”
It wasn’t a question but more of a statement like he understood it.
And reluctantly, you nodded in response.
For a while, you were quiet. Both of you. Tsu’tey grabbed the arrow and tossed the fish onto the rock. The water filled the silence, bringing you a sense of comfort in this long silence. You didn’t feel obligated to speak and Tsu’tey didn’t bother to conversate either. A big difference between him and Jake who would probably be talking your ear off with stupid jokes and infuriating jabs.
Not that it wouldn’t help a bit.
But right now, all you felt was exhaustion. Even Tsu’tey allowed himself to appear somewhat tired, at least from what you saw whenever his face was turned in your direction.
“I thank you.”
You looked at him then, his back was still turned to you as he continued, “For saving my brother. Arvok. The arrow, he could have died if you hadn’t taken it for him. You—”
“Anyone would’ve done it.” You shrugged off, not wanting this type of attention. Especially not from him. What you did may have been somewhat heroic but you sure as hell didn’t feel that way. “You don’t have to thank me.”
“But I will.” Tsu’tey drew his arrow back again. The arrow flew again and hit another fish. “Even when I treated you horribly. You still saved him.”
You frowned and shook your head. His thanks for some reason made you feel worse. You didn’t know why but you wanted it to stop. “Like I said, anyone would’ve done it if they were in my position.”
“Hmph.” Tsu’tey tossed the third fish onto the rock and jumped back onto the rock with you. He grabbed the three fishes by the tail and nodded toward the forest, “Come, we should head back—”
“No.”
You heard him sigh, “Dreamwalker—”
“I can’t go back right now.” You blurted out, your hands clenching into fists as you glared down at your reflection. “I just can’t, okay? I can’t go back and face the pitiful looks Norm will send me. I can’t go back to Neytiri telling me that Eywa saved me or gave some fucking second chance that I had no say in. I can’t go back to hear Jake apologize over and over and over again until I go fucking crazy! I just can’t!”
You buried your face into your hands, not wanting to look at him, not wanting to face the world. All you felt, all you wanted to do was just crawl into a hole and hope that everyone left you alone. You hoped that you could lie down and become stone. You hoped you could become the tragedy that was amid the beautiful Pandora.
You hoped—You hoped—You hoped—
Something within your body told you that you were crying but no tears came.
Half alive and half buried.
Until they bled.
Something heavy landed on top of your head. It took you a moment for you to realize it was a hand—Tsu’tey’s hand. You dropped your hands from your face and frowned, reluctantly looking up at him to find him staring back at you.
God, these people were straightforward when it came to expressing themselves. Even Tsu’tey, who you considered the hardest to read out of the three.
“It is sad.” Tsu’tey squatted down next to you, his hand gently ruffling your hair. Your ears twitched, “I am sorry.”
You were taken aback, to say the least. Never in a million years could you imagine Tsu’tey out of all people, comforting you. Frankly, you never thought he felt anything toward you to enact such a strange reaction from him. And yet you didn’t move. Too afraid that if you flinched then he would take his hand away.
A part of you felt awful that he had to do this. And a part of you…
“You don’t have to do this.” You mumbled.
He huffed, “I do what I want. And I choose to be here. You saved my brother.”
“That doesn’t mean you have to comfort me.” This unyielding guilt was overwhelming, You almost wanted to shove his hand away. “I feel like I’m using you.”
“Then use me.”
You shook your head again, his hand remained firm, “You’re impossible—as usual.”
“Hmph.”
The both of you stayed like this for a while longer. It was getting dark. Creatures would start coming out soon. Perhaps you should stop being so stubborn and move already.
Tsu’tey didn’t say anything though. He was rather still and quiet. You looked over, for a moment wondering if he was asleep.
Only you found his yellow gaze staring at something intensely. Frowning, you followed his gaze.
Floating toward the both of you was an atokirina. Huh, you hadn’t seen one of these in a while. And even now they were still as pretty as you remembered them. Last time there were multiple, but this time it was one.
You stood and Tsu’tey followed seconds after.
Even for this, you remained still. As if moving would somehow scare it off. Tsu’tey must’ve had the same thought, standing as still as a statue next to you as the atokirina floated over your heads. The pure creature hovered over Tsu’tey’s forehead for a bit until it came over to you, tickling your nose.
Tsu’tey watched you and the atokirina in astonishment. It floated between the two of you for a moment before finally floating away.
You watched it in for a moment longer before your arm began to throb. Tsu’tey noticed you rolling your arm back uncomfortably and finally snapped out of his trance, “Is your arm bothering you?”
“A little.” You admitted reluctantly.
With a nod, he grabbed the fish and then the bow as he gestured toward the forest, “Come. We should return now. Mo’at is waiting.”
This time you did not protest. You glanced back toward the direction the atokirina disappeared before finally following after Tsu’tey.
When you got to Mo’at’s hut, she was already scowling at you. And surprisingly it was rather scary. So much so, that you unconsciously shrunk behind Tsu’tey so you wouldn’t feel any of her wrath. Jake and Neytiri were there as well, for what you did not know, but they appeared to have been waiting for yours and Tsu’tey’s return.
“Well, now we know you are well enough to foolishly run off.” Mo’at huffed as she pointed toward the spot on the floor. “Sit.”
Without waiting for you to respond, Mo’at dragged you to the spot and sat you down on the floor. Tsu’tey remained near the entrance and watched you silently. He hadn’t said anything ever since you started your walk back to their base. You wondered if he was at all bothered about seeing the atokirina. Or if it was on his mind at all.
While Mo’at wiped the dried mush from your arm, Neytiri squatted down next to you, “How are you feeling?”
“I died.” You said dryly. “Other than that, I’m swell.”
Jake sighed from his spot closest to Tsu’tey and the entrance, “Well, her snark’s intact. You sure she’s not back to normal?” You rolled your eyes, Neytiri rubbed your back while glaring at Jake.
“We saw an atokirina,” Tsu’tey spoke for the first time since you left the waterfall. “It came to the demon and I…” He said the rest of his explanation in Na’vi. You frowned, looking at Jake and Neytiri to gauge what exactly he was saying. You watched Neytiri’s ears twitch as her eyes brightened. Then there was Jake who looked completely serious, tail swinging behind him. Mo’at gave nothing away as she added more mush to your arm. You held back a scoff, irritated that you were the only one who couldn’t understand a single word.
“Another sign from Eywa,” Mo’at spoke in English. She looked at you almost knowingly as she continued. “This dreamwalker is here for a reason. Maybe for the same reason, Jakesully had come to us. Or something completely different. Perhaps this is her way of choosing a fourth for you.”
Neytiri perked up instantly, her hand squeezing your good shoulder gently. Jake’s head was bowed, hiding his expression. And Tsu’tey just frowned. And you felt your entire face grow hot. Suddenly you were rather aware of everything around you. If you had been standing, you would’ve fainted.
“Or maybe it’s something else?” You offered, trying to move the conversation forward instead of enduring this awkward and uncomfortable silence.
Mo’at watched all four of your expressions and huffed, “Come. We will just ask the Great Mother ourselves—”
“No, we don’t have to.” Jake stood straighter, tail lashing behind him.
Neytiri stood and sent him a look, “Ma’ Jake—”
But he shook his head, “I’m not doing it. I’m not taking her as a mate. That’s not fair and you know it—”
“And if it is in Eywa’s will?” Mo’at challenged, raising an invisible brow. “What then, Jakesully?”
“Don’t I get a say in this?” You added, already growing irritated by this conversation.
“Yeah, you’re right. You do have a say in this. But I’m gonna make this easy for you.” Jake nodded steely. “We’re fine as three. There is no room for another—especially her.”
“Fuck you!” You snapped, shooting to your feet. “Who the hell do you think you are—”
“Hey, I’m on your side here!” Jake argued. You failed to see the surprised reaction from your outburst, you failed to see the way he raised his hand as if easing you like you were a dangerous animal about to pounce—no you saw that actually. And it only pissed you off even more. “Do you want me to lie and welcome you into my family with open arms just like that? Or do you want the honest truth, Reeds? You value that, right?”
You let out a humorless laugh, skin boiling in anger now, “You really are full of shit, you know that, Sully? So you think it’s okay to just discard me then? As if I don’t have any fucking feelings? Am I just an emotionless body to you, Jake? Am I not supposed to be offended? ‘Especially her’? What the fuck is that supposed to mean?!”
“That’s enough—” Neytiri started only to be stopped by Mo’at who watched the two of you keenly. Even Tsu’tey didn’t even speak up. He didn’t snap at you nor did he stop Jake. He just watched on in grim silence that neither you nor Jake bothered to notice.
“I’m doing this for you—I’m not sayin’ this just to be an asshole, Reeds!”
“Could’ve fooled me.” You snickered mockingly. Honestly, you had no idea why you were so angry. You were just tired. Tired of him. Tired of this. Tired of all this bullshit. “Well, if it makes you feel any better, Sully, you’re not exactly prize material either, so there. Why don’t you just say that instead of hiding it behind some horse shit—”
“Jesus Christ.” He muttered in disbelief. Jake looked to the sky, struggling to respond. Struggling to string the words together.
But it shouldn’t have been that hard. “You’re right, I do value truth, Sully. So be fucking honest and just spit it out. Enough of the trying to protect me bullshit—I’ve heard enough of it and I don’t need any more of it. Say what you want, don’t hide now. It’s easy when it comes to me, right?”
You were just angry. So, so angry. You weren’t even sure if this anger deserved to be directed at him. If this anger was even about this conversation. You weren’t even sure why you were fighting so fiercely.
Jake scoffed, “And you think you make being around you easy? You don’t think maybe there’s a reason I blow up at you? You don’t think maybe it’s because you can be a huge asshole sometimes?”
“Oh yeah, this mate shit is going to work out perfectly.” You snorted.
“I can’t mate with someone I don’t love,” Jake spoke more bluntly toward Mo’at, Neytiri, and Tsu’tey. “I don’t know how much more honest I have to be about this. I can’t love someone like her. How can I? Not even a fucking miracle could ever get me to, and that’s the truth. You happy now? Is that what you want to hear?”
The tent was silent by then. Neytiri, in the corner of your eye, had her tail lashing behind her. Tsu’tey, who stood further back behind Jake held an unreadable expression instead of his usual severity but offered nothing. Mo’at just waited with her keen eyes on all four of you. She then sighed and shook her head, mumbling something in Na’vi.
You wished you weren’t so affected by his words. “Fine. Don’t love me, Jake.” You wished your heart didn’t sink to the pits of your stomach. You wished your heart wouldn’t take this much hut. You didn’t even want him. You didn’t even want a mate.
But you were unknowable. Unlovable.
You’ve always known this. So it shouldn’t have hurt so much for someone to tell you this straight to your face.
“Earn that shit.” You muttered, schooling your face into your usual impassive mask despite your achy eyes. Now you looked to Mo’at who was watching you in particular, “Is that all, Tsahik?”
You failed to see Jake’s shoulders fall and his ears lower, “Reeds—”
Mo’at spoke over him, “I want you back here in two days. Your wound is not fully healed yet.” She then looked at Tsu’tey, her eyes seeming to want something from him, “Is there a problem with that, Olo’eyktan?”
At this, Tsu’tey shook his head stiffly, “No. You are Tsahik. You must continue your work.”
“Mmph.” Mo’at huffed in what appeared to be disappointment. “Then you may leave, dreamwalker.”
You nodded and stalked toward the entrance. Neytiri tried reaching for you but you had been too quick for her grasp to catch, “Ma ‘tanhi…”
Jake avoided your gaze as you passed him, “I’ll see you later, Neytiri.” You stepped out of the hut, not bothering to look back.
After jumping down a few branches and landing on the ground, you found that two warriors were waiting for you on pa’li. One of the warriors guided a pa’li toward you, which you got on without much difficulty.
And without looking back, the pa’li began to move. You were cold. And tired.
Half alive and half buried in the ground.
“I will make sure my warriors return her safely to the human base,” Tsu’tey spoke stiffly as he ducked out of the hut. Jake watched him go, uneasy about what his mate could’ve been thinking at the moment. It was the most difficult when Tsu’tey was like this. He was hard to read and wouldn’t let up until he confessed to what he was feeling. So, all Jake had to do was wait until then.
But right now, he did know one thing.
Fuck.
He’d gone too far.
Neytiri had watched you go just a few feet from the entrance of the hut and by the time you were long gone she stalked back inside. Jake flinched when her glare stabbed him through his thin skin when it came to her fury, “Why did you do that? Why were you so cruel? Why are you trying to push her away?”
His ears flattened again, “Tiyawn—”
“No!” She shook her head and backed away from his reach. “You humans and hiding your true feelings. I know you, Jake. I know what you said wasn’t true and yet you chose to hurt her anyway. Why? Why do this?”
Jake frowned, his body tensing, “How do you know this isn’t how I feel—”
“Baah!” Neytiri hissed, smacking his shoulder. “Even if what you said was true, you did not need to be cruel! You do not need to hurt her! Do you even care?!”
“Of course I do!” Jake argued. He wasn’t heartless. Of course, he saw how his words affected—continued to affect you.
God, why did you always react that way when it was him? Why did his heart always feel heavy whenever it came to yelling at you these days? You weren’t like this with Tsu’tey, you always fired back. Why was it different with him? “What I said was true. I am doing this for her! I’m trying to protect her—”
“From what?” Neytiri hissed as if the words he was saying were false. “No more excuses, Ma’ Jake, what is it that you are so afraid of?!”
How did she do it? How did she fiercely protect you like this without a care in the world? How did she fiercely care about you without being frightened of the consequences? “You weren’t there when Artsut threatened her life.” At this Neytiri faltered, her ears lowering slightly but Jake continued before she could interrupt her again, “She’s already being pulled into this mess with the clans. What happens if Artsut, a woman with great influence within this clan, comes for her? What happens when we take another human mate that she doesn’t approve of? What then? It’ll be our fault that Reeds becomes ruined. It’ll be our fault for not being careful—”
“That is not for us to decide,” Neytiri told him bluntly but her face softened—only a bit. “Your heart comes from a good place but your words are misguided.” She gingerly grew closer to him until her hand could reach the curve of his cheek as she gently caressed it. “Make this right. Enough of this fighting. Can’t you see she’s tired?”
Mo’at, who had been crushing some herbs in a bowl, did not refute her daughter’s wise words.
Jake was outnumbered. But he was also tired too.
You came back to Hell’s Gate to find a white sheet over your former body, right in the middle of a nearly empty room.
Cry. Just cry. Cry.
Instead, you stayed in that silent room. You did not look away from the body.
Half alive and half buried in the ground.
All you needed was a tombstone.
boom! chapter 9! this one chapter i was definitely nervous to write because we see jake and reeds at, in my opinion, their worst in their slowly developing relationship and a peek at the beginning of tsu'tey and reeds' future relationship.
hope you enjoyed it! chapter 10 should be coming soon!
(i'm not adding any more people anymore!)

Three instead of two fingers run along his forehead, down the bridge of his nose and up to his forehead again – leaving stripes in the color of the sun on the places they've touched. Black follows soon after, drawn along the existing yellow lines, mirroring the path of the bioluminescence freckles on his cheekbones (though painted along them, not over them since it is considered sloppy for paint to interfere or cover the bioluminescent markings of man or animal). Index and middle finger dip into the almost gooey yellow substance again to draw a straight line from his lower lip down to his chin – the corners of his mouth turn up, a beautiful smile gracing his features. You feel something brush along your right leg, creeping its way up until it wraps around your thigh – his tail, pulling you closer by a few inches. Either of you are aware of the implication the next drawn lines will hold, of the changes Tsu'tey took in the iconography of his war paintings so that you could be part of it, included like you were included into the clan and became one of the people a few nights ago.
Tsu'tey takes the bowl of white paint and holds it infront of you. He gives you an encouraging smile as you let both of your hands be covered in the color of his bioluminescence freckles, before carefully placing them on his pectorals. You look up at him shyly and ask: "Like this?"
"Yeah.", he whispers, softly like the dayspring upon morning, when the moon sleeps and the stars rest to let the sun be the brightest one in the sky, so it can shine its light on every being like a breath of fresh air. "Yeah, Like this", he says again, a calloused blue hand gently taking hold of your left wrist, squeezing it, pushing it harder against the place where his heart is – the corners of his mouth lifting into a big, mushy grin that makes the inside of your stomach feel like every butterfly in the world has moved there.
"I love you, yawntu.", you gasp and he catches it in his mouth. You´ve never – he never sai–
It´s soft, so impossibly soft, more of a peck than a kiss and ends way too soon. The hand not holding yours to his heart, which has started beating very fast, cradles the back of your head, fingers carding through your hair. His nose brushes along your forehead, down your temple, eventually nudging your own and rubbing the tip of his nose against yours affactionately. You feel a few lone tears run down your cheeks when you finally reciprocate, a whispered I love you too that he also catches in his mouth. Warmth consumes you as you lean into the kiss. His lips undeniably smooth against your own, his tongue asking for entrance which you easily allow. You feel a soft tickle of his breath, fingers still carding through your hair as you breathe each other in.
"I wanted to say it first.", you say dejectedly after it all ends, a puff of a chuckle hitting the top of your head. "We can say it too each other all the time, there´s no competition." You feel the vibrations of his words on you and bury your face into his chest, arms curling aorund him.
"I love you, Tsu'tey.", you mumble into his chest and he purrs and it´s like a soft whisper that soothes ones troubled mind.
"And I love you, ma´yawntu.", he mumbles into the crown of your head and you laugh and it´s like a gentle breeze that sweeps away life´s worries.
–
You still blush in the colour that his love gives you everytime your gaze lands on his pectorals – on the war painting, though a little smudged now, and the hands, your hands, that are adorning it. Small in comparision to the two Na´vi hands normally decorating almost his entire upper body. Eywa, how you feel blessed to be allowed to take part in this ceremonial undertaking, blessed to be allowed to live here on this alien planet, blessed to have found the one for you.
If you’re wondering, I’ve changed my name from fixmyfeathers to love-daesy. <3

Right when it occurred, something did not feel right. There is an odd sensation stirring in the hollow of her stomach. It could not be the adrenaline that had taken its course within her body for she had anticipated it, nor could it be the minor, barely visible cuts created by the Sky Demons’ graze of foolish weaponry for while it burned only the slightest bit, it wasn’t extreme enough to draw pools of blood.
Grunts of an odd, internal wound left her yet she, with all her restraint, refused to acknowledge it right then and there and gently patted the side of her ikran for she too felt it, she too felt the distress, the slight yet sudden tear of something, of someone apart from her sole rider. Golden eyes waste no second in searching, mind voicing for her ikran to halt the strong, frenzied flaps of her wings.
She shuts out the sounds of the Sky demon’s flying equipment, the war cries the Na’vi created, and waits. Waits and observes, observes and listens, straining every one of her senses; frantic became her gaze as the feeling within her spiraled, harsh and swishing became Pandora’s winds as it surged through her limbs, aching swirled her heartbeat, lips whispering faint murmurs, longing for the presence, the call of him.
A pair of ears, belonging to the woman who would bound her life to him under the will of Eywa, hitched high and flickered at the agonized screech which sharply pierced through the air, coming from a specific aircraft until it soon began its descent down to Pandora’s ground. She wasted no second in trying to comprehend where, who the cry derived from, and the ears once chirped high faltered for a brief second as she picked it apart while panic, fear, the scorching pain corporeally and spiritually exceeded throughout her as she did.
Wretched. Agonizing. Appalling.
The cry which ripples from deep within Tsu'tey's lungs, clawing through the inward flesh until it reached the base of his throat and had been unleashed, is to be described as those precise words.
“Tsu’tey!”
Actions transpire before thoughts could be formed, her high chirp commanding her ikran to acutely glide down, right towards where the prolonged blue frame plummets down, the harsh ruffles of the branches due to her reckless speed being disregarded despite the gnashes they sliced across her striped flesh.
The churn spasms furthermore from the core of her being; burning, afflicting, and it is when she reaches him, the one bound to be her mate soon, her Tsu’tey lying on the grassed ground, that she is met with the dejected notion weighing upon her.
Despite the physical agony he is currently experiencing, he feels her — his serenity, the compliment to his being, the support and sustainment to his unbalanced character — close by. A palm clasps below his chest piece just to cover, to perhaps hide from her that he is hurt. His innards burn, gnaw, coil with each breath he tries taking. He coughs and despite the burn of it, he calls out to her.
“Y-yawnetu.” ( loved one )
“Ma Tsu’tey –”
Yet she is already rushing to him, descending onto her knees right beside him. She did not know where to begin. Act nearly transpired before thought once more, until she catches the way he holds himself. The pain submerged from not just him but her with each hurried step she had taken, each ragged breath she had taken, and so when her hand reached to touch just over his wounded chest, it became vivid, blistering.
A violent racketting envelops him entirely at the feel, a grunt spewing from his lips and it instantly makes her touch retract from him, hissing more so in distress at the notion of her mate being injured at the hands of them. Not even them, but guided by their coward minds and dastard hearts with what they called a gun.
Her mouth parches, her throat tightening as she tries to speak through her anger and pain. “T-tsap’alute si ( I apologize ). You are hurt, w-we have to get you to–”
His head created the smallest head shakes only for him to wince rather visibly, reaching for her hand. “Stay. T-touch –”
Hesitantly, she did as he said though she notices his discomfort and instead goes to cradle the upper curve of his head, but there’s slight space between for with the bit of strength he carries he uses to keep his head up.
The pressure of her palm rumbles a sound from his chest and she notices how his jaw narrows, how his ear winces. “Hurts?”
“T’s n-nothing. Fine, I’m fine.” He breathes in before his long fingers loosely wrap around her forearm, and his browline tugs down at the dry blood latching, the gnashes littering her skin. He, even in this situation, firmly states rather than questions: “You are hurt. T-they hurt you – did they–”
“I am fine, tiyawn. I am fine – my fault. I was rushing to come to you –”
His sharp eyes blaze and upper lip curls over his teeth as he hisses. “Must be more c-careful! Demons could have…have killed you. M-must think now more than ever —”
“ I will – but I am fine, I promise.” She assures and with her other hand she cradles his jaw, feeling it condense before trying to get him to calm down for she sees how agitated he became.
“Syeha si ( breathe ), Tsu’tey. Tsyeha si.” He exhales then tries to inhale only for the passage of his throat to obstruct with a gush of something; iron tang distastefully becoming one with his taste buds, the sudden swarm of liquid causing a choke-like sound to form at the back of his throat. Fearful, she wastes no time in moving the current hand on his head to the upper backside of his neck to slightly elevate him despite his strained protest.
“I— fine. I am fine–”
Her other hand leaves Tsu’tey’s cheek and goes to the base of her throat, right over the beaded necklace crafted by his very hands, the very blood stained hands that tear from his wound and reach for hers to stop her from acting. “ You are not fine! You are wounded, for Eywa’s sake! We must call for help—”
She watches how Tsu’tey tries to resist crumbling his features when her fingers brush up his neck, halting just right below the start of his kuru. He watches in anguish as the irises within her golden hues dilate, nearly becoming one with the other. She feels it undone, the braid, and with it undone, it is unprotected yet for whatever cause would it be? He feels the ghost of her touch over its bareness lurk down, and he grunts loudly as he shifts to stop her. “Ma yawnetu, please–”
But now the simple act of doing so becomes toilsome and painful, provoking an excruciating groan out of him and she’s haste in halting him from creating any more movement. “Ftang (stop).”
Tsu’tey is apprehensive, forming the weakest scowl as she gives him a pointed look. Perhaps it was because Tsu’tey was in her presence – the woman who succeeded to take his stoic mask off, to soothe the scowl constantly twisting his face. It was then that she found herself seeing him better then he saw himself – who he truly was, is, and bound to become. To her it was a must to be by his side, and to him it was an odd yet yearning-to-the-bone necessity to have her with him, to see her the way she sees him.
So with that, he releases a ragged breath but lets her and she resumes her act — not near enough to make contact with it, but near enough for him to feel it hovering. Enough for him to choke on a gasp and clutch onto her forearm when she reached the end which rested right by his side.
She too feels the sensation of it, of what he’s feeling in this second, of what he’s been feeling when he met the ground. She feels him, the one who's supposed to be her mate, experiencing the most indescribable pain there is for the Na’vi: the only true connection to the wonders within Pandora, to their Great Mother being torn off. To the one bound to be their mate for eternity.
The notion crashes down on her stronger, becoming sole with the ache stirring within. She says nothing for a long time and tries pushing through the muskiness enveloping her vision, wanting to take him in; colorants of yellow and ebony streaked boldly on the sides of his scalp, and she recalls being the one putting them there, she recalls how all the tension and worries seemed to have faded away from Tsu’tey when the lovely strokes of her paint-dipped fingertips specifically striped upon certain parts of his angular features as well, somewhat enhancing them and his azure tones – yet now the color scheme was assisted by blemishes and smudges of red, and the fierceness he once carried before this battle occurred vanished. This is an entirely different Tsu’tey that no other has ever witnessed — and if it weren’t for one of the reasons being that he was too damaged, too hurt and strained, she would have smiled softly down at him and bathe him in all the love and happiness there was within her because of him — one even she hasn’t witnessed — the closest ever being was when Sylwanin passed.
“Let me take you to Tsahik. You are Olo’eyktan. I-important and must stay alive, let me call for help so we can take you back –”
“I am far too injured for Tsahik to fix this. There is a battle happening at this moment, woman. We cannot let this interfere. They all need to fight for our People. Our home.” he grunts , nose scrunching at the raise of his tone. “And a demon weapon striked me…sa’nok died from it. Even if we try, it will be too late—”
“Toruk Makto will know what to do.” she quickly interjects. “He was one of them, h-he will save us. Will save you, ma Tsu’tey. He will not leave the People without their Olo’eyktan. H-he —”
“Then he will be the one to lead the People.”
He can’t fight the subtle twitch of his lip at how her ears perch at this, and she frowns deeply, just like he expected her too. She didn’t dislike Jakesully while she was wary of him at the beginning. Yet he earned trust, a rightful place among the Omaticaya. Even so, that place was not, isn’t, what Tsu’tey is suggesting.
“But he…y-you are Olo’eyktan. Our guidance, our leader.” she takes in a sharp breath and blinks rapidly as he stares up at her. “You…you are to b-be my mate. And I yours, yes?”
Purple splotched with the ebony striped beneath Tsu’tey’s eyes, pronouncing the anguish and disappointment lodged within his pupils, weighing down upon him. His lower lip quivers when he grabs his ruptured queue, and it takes everything in him to not yell.
He speaks through sputtered syllables. “I…I c-cannot ride again. Cannot be guided with the voice o-of Eywa. C-cannot lead the People and be strong Olo’eyktan because of this –”
The smallest whimper he made causes her to hold back her own, ears catching onto the way his breath hitched. He releases his hold on his queue and lets it falls back to his chest in order to apply pressure to evict the constant drain of blood even though at this point it is inevitable. His other hand tries to grasp onto something, anything to sustain himself. She is quick to grab it, guiding it towards her, right above the part he painted over — fingers dipped in turquoise-colored paint at the beginning yet now taints with the boldness of crimson, the length of his fingers curling from the curve of her shoulder while his palm had pressed above the front of her chest right near her heartbeat, the closest thing he was to ever feeling.
He finds grounding, he finds the guidance of her heartbeat, of her touch but it isn’t nor will it ever be like how it’s supposed to. Inhaling through flared nostrils, as if preparing to say the words he wished so desperately to not be true, he utters the words that unfortunately confirmed her very thoughts:
“But overall…I-I will not be able to form tsaheylu with you, yawnetu. You will not have a true mate. A-and I will no be able to feel you…to truly have you under the will of our Great Mother.”
It was effortless to push away the wretched feeling ripping inside of her — but stubbornness is almost as if it is one with her. Something Tsu’tey both adored and despised at times – and in this case, he isn’t exactly certain which he feels right now.
A sob heaves from her chest, feeling so utterly pathetic when tears continue welling in her eyes. “K-kehe ( no ). You have always had me — no matter tsaheylu. You’ve felt, known and seen me, ma Tsu’tey. I feel, know and see you then and now. Please let me continue — let us go—”
“Oeru yawne ( my love )…” The expanse of his palm slides up to her neck, gently enveloping her drenched cheek and weakly frowns at how he’s grimming her beautiful face with his own blood. It is too much; the raw truth of it all, the rasped breath of his tender words, the quivers of his palm due to his pain, tears cascading from her eyes and coating her cheeks, him giving the mantle to someone else and accepting it, the sinking fact that the first and only thing she can and will ever solely, truly feel from Tsu’tey, the man who she’s chosen to be with for the rest of her life as he has chosen her with no hesitation, was him hurting, him processing it with the same pace as she is.
He says nothing for a second, simply letting himself scrutinize and adore her and gather his words. “It is worse to go through this life without purpose than to die. A-a feel without you, oeyä yawne, has no purpose.”
“And a life without you has no purpose!” Her voice grows harsher, words broken. “Is that what you want to do to me, hm? Leave me with no purpose?”
“You will have the People—”
“It isn’t the same! A-and so will you if you choose to see the light of this—”
“Ma Y/N.” It isn’t firm, his tone when saying her name. But it is enough for her to stay quiet, ears flattening at the sides of her head.
“Me…just being me will not suffice for the People. And while I am more than happy to know that it is sufficient for you… it is not for me.” The octave of his voice is tremulous, barely audible to ears as he peers up at her. “Not when knowing I cannot satisfy those around me — it will not be enough from my part…for them. For you. Especially with everything you have given me.” He gives her one of his truest smiles despite the red that now streams out the corners, coughing afterwards.
The pad of her thumb swats the blood away, knowing what he was doing with his words. She badly wants to frown at him, to tell him it is not the time to be smiling but she can’t help the pure allure she has to his lovely expression. She can’t help herself from tilting her head and questioning, “What have I given to you?”
“Patience. Peace.” His eyes close a second as he sighs. “Even through grief, through loss and chaos, you chose me. It is as you say; you’ve felt and have known and seen me. While my mind was to be dutiful to the People…my heart was purposeful to you.”
Nuzzling into her touch, he breathes out, “and now I accept this — because I’m in the presence of you. It is…a bit more peaceful.”
“Y-you skxawng.” she chokes out for she doesn’t know what to say and instead lets her forehead shadow over his as he chuckles. But he feels it, feels what’s channeling from her mind, heart, soul, and it’s enough to bring him much more tranquil.
The bleeding from his chest does not stop, but at this point he doesn’t care anymore. Instead, he removes his hand from the spot and loosely curls around the hand that has not left its spot from his cheek. Fingers tenderly knead the flesh of her wrist while the other still cups her face, thumb stroking the apple of her cheek. Eyes taking her in, the sensations she now only faintly ignites within him, and he groans lowly at how those blazing, loving emotions clash with the shock that is coming together. The reality, the acceptance of not being the one to guide the People, of not giving her the future she truly deserves, the acceptance of it all.
She doesn’t want to accept it however. Not now, not yet. So all she can do is nod, swallowing through the lump within her throat and let’s herself softly touch him; the fading specks across his nose, the beautiful markings of his forehead, the sharpness of his cheeks, the quiver of his lip as he inhales curtly, eyes closing for a solid moment. It is ridiculously unbearable now, pain pulsating in sharp waves through his body.
“Hurts?” She tries evading her gaze from the red spiraling down his blue skin, from his severed kuru. He shakes his head and lets his hold press a bit more against her. “No more…fine. I’m fine.” he gently coaxes his lie with a subtle twitch of his mouth, wanting to reprieve her from feeling any more anguish for him.
“That — that is good.” she returns his expression, professing her own belief in his words to spare him his strength in trying to console her. But how he slightly hears it in the way her breathing becomes frantic when his own starts to falter. The extent of his wounds are as he said; too great and severe for Tsahik to cure, and the heart's wrenching notion that he’s near his end slowly starts to seep past her obstinacy.
Faint cries of what seemed to be cheers chime through the sky, and he can’t resist the sigh of relief that emerges. “That is a good sign. Very good.”
She nods but doesn’t tear her attention from him. She watches how his bright orbs shift beneath his shut eyelids. When they come to view again, there is slight agitation. More ache accompanied by sorrow, all of it spreading from the core of his being. “Yawnetu.”
Her tail lashes in fret. “I am here, Tsu’tey — what is wrong?”
“C-call to them…it is almost time.” His words stammer violently, grasping much more onto her when he gasps. Her coils furiously shake across her shoulders, nose scrunching, lower lip trembling when she sobs. “not yet…n-no not yet. I cannot lose you! P-please—”
“My stubborn girl,” he grunts quietly when his red stained mouth manage to smile. “You will never lose me. I…I am more than certain we will see one another again. But now the People, Toruk Makto must know he is to lead them. And I need you to help me let him know.”
She desperately nestles her cheek against his hand for a moment, sniffles and nods before craning her neck forward and placing a light kiss over his forehead. “W-whatever you wish, tiyawn.”
She does what she is told while he listens, the voice of Jakesully being heard, wasting no second in confirming he is on his way with the others.
Feathered kisses are met with his temple now and across his forehead, his eyelids, his nose, his cheeks — but lastly his lips. Not caring for the blood tainting them, only for the sensation they soothe her soul with, she gives him one last broken kiss.
She focuses entirely on Tsu’tey, respite emerging deep from within his lungs while desperately trying to give him one of her breaths as if it’ll spare him, tender fingertips grasping his face in an anguish manner as he too tries meeting her halfway.
The hand on her cheek goes back to her shoulder, gently pulling her closer. Her thumbs brush down his cheeks, outlining the structure of his jawline. “I feel you. I see you, oeyä Tsu’tey.”
The tip of his nose nudges her when his forehead finds its place over hers. “I feel you. I…I see you, oeyä Y/N.”
Those are the words he finds himself mouthing to her one last time, the only pair of brilliant, loving tearful eyes that he sees, the last swarm of peace that wavers with Toruk Makto’s shadow as it envelops his dying body.

KXANI - pt3
summary: you have never fit in with the scientists, but on the night jake was lost in the forest so were you. staying with the people was your one true dream, yet when you are anything but welcome and jake get's to experience the people. you find yourself seeking comfort in tsu'tey
contents: 2.2k words, angst, a lot of fluff ur welcome, tsu'tey being a confused softie, jake being a dick but i forgot to put it in so just assume, avatar 2009, slowburn is now blazing
authors note: WOOO SOME ROMANCE, i loved writing this, i had this one song playing "falling asleep with a book on your chest" by lullatone - piano version, and im convinced thats what them falling in love sounds like all parts - next part
┌────── ⋆☆⋆ ──────┐
Jake had made the bond with an ikran. A step of becoming a true warrior, one of the people. You couldn’t help but feel jealous. The way the whole village chatted and gossiped about the sky-person who conquered a banshee. It was impossible not to writhe in rage as you watched him get celebrated.
You couldn’t even escape it in your human form. As Jake animatedly re-told the story, the way Grace listened in awe over and over again as Norm stated how badly he wanted to witness something so monumental.
You couldn’t even escape it in your regular escapades with Tsu’tey. Usually you two would search the forest together, talk about how nature connects all and contribute something to Hometree. But today Tsu’tey wouldn’t shut up, he usually let you do the talking but today it was all ‘Jakesully this, Jakesully that.’ It was driving you mad.
“The skxwang flew off the cliff! I wanted to see him fall but he made the bond. It was impressive. That it all the compliments he gets from me.” Once again he went on about his impressive act. You wished you weren’t so bummed. This was monumental just as Norm said, it was amazing he had made it so far into the rites of a warrior.
“Cool.” You could’ve tried to sound more impressed, but it wasn’t worth it. The way you posture was hunched, your eyes didn’t meet Tsu’tey’s and your quiet voice. Tsu’tey knew something was wrong.
“Why are you upset?”
“I’m not! I just said it’s cool.” Tsu’tey looked at you as if you had spat in his face and called him an idiot. It made your heart thump in anxiety.
“You are not being honest, stupid sky-person thing.” You gave him a sarcastic smile as he called you stupid and walked off faster to ignore his pestering. (that you totally started) “Do not walk away! You will hurt yourself baby demon!” Tsu’tey hissed in annoyance as he followed your childish stomps.
You turned around in a dramatic fashion as Tsu’tey stopped abruptly to not run straight into you. “I don’t want to hear about Jake anymore! No more Jake!”
Tsu’tey watched the way your breath faltered, and your ears flattened. The way your tail went between your legs and your hands balled into fists. Eywa, he hated the way worry grew in his chest. The way he desperately wondered if Jake had done something to you. Or if he himself had done something to you.
He hadn’t worried about anyone like this in years. So why was he doing it for you. Why was he so worked up over a stupid, incompetent, weak, beautiful, no NO alien looking demon.
“No Jake. Ok.” Tsu’tey nodded as he watched your chest deflate as you let out a loud exhale.
“Great. Awesome.” You smiled up at him. Stop. Why was he looking like that. His pupils dilated as his mouth was slightly open. He looked so enamoured by whatever he was looking at. So why was that look facing you? “Tsu’tey?”
“Yes.” His name sounded like sweetness off your tongue. He was addicted to it. He’d make you say it a million times if he could hear your sweet voice again. Sweet? No. Annoying, accented voice.
“Why are you looking at me like that.” His mind panicked, he felt his muscles go stiff. Oh, this was mortifying.
“Your face is weird.” Tsu’tey spluttered out. He watched the way your face dropped. There was that pang of guilt again, he did not want to say that.
“Oh! Thanks.” You deadpanned him as you turned to walk away from him in a huff only to be stopped by his tight grip on your wrist.
Tsu’tey had no idea what he was thinking. Why was he holding you? Why did it feel as if his heart was racing. Why did his throat burn and why was he blinking rapidly. Was this panic? Was he in danger? No, all he was doing was holding onto you for no good reason.
“I am sorry. I did not mean it that way.” His voice was sorrowful, the sincerest of apologies as you turned to face him with a pout.
“Then what did you mean Tsu’tey?” What did he mean? He had no idea. All he knew was the way your face looked up to him begging for an answer was driving him mad.
He had no idea what he meant. No words were reaching his brain, and none of them were escaping his mouth. He just stared at you wide-eyed, grip on your wrist growing tighter the more confused the both of you got.
“What did you mean?” Tsu’tey couldn’t think of an answer, so he turned the question onto you. He was the one holding you in his grip, why should you be asking the questions?
“What? Tsu’tey I asked you.”
“No more Jake. Why’s that?” He watched your face drop again. What has Jake done? Why did he upset you so much.
“He’s just…I don’t want to talk about it Tsu’tey.” You felt yourself grow hot, you didn’t want to be interrogated by this huge man, but he was persistent. He was a stubborn man.
“Please, talk.” Tsu’tey has never felt himself grow more desperate, why was he? He felt like everything he knew about himself was falling apart. He wanted to stare at you with contempt, but it was only concern.
“Are you serious right now Tsu’tey?” You looked up to him with this twinkle in your eyes, emotion pouring out of them as he watched the way your nose scrunched. He didn’t really think of it much when he did it. But his tight grip loosened from your wrist and turned into a soft hold on your hand.
It sent shivers through both of your bodies as he looked deep into your eyes. He was entranced, this was all so wrong. But the way you reciprocated and squeezed his hand made him feel so sure about this.
“Serious.” You gave him a sad smile before breathing in, signalling the start of a lengthy explanation.
“Jake, he gets to learn so much. He gets too fly an ikran, hunt in the forest, learn the ways of the forest. He experiences so much, I feel left out. And they act as if I am stupid because I do not know any of it! I mean Jake refuses to talk to me, whenever I talk about what I learnt they just ignore me or worse they make fun of me. Jake acts so mean, he makes me feel useless.” You felt as if you had let go of a huge weight. Your lips quivered as you tried not to get too upset over the topic of conversation but as you looked up at Tsu’tey, it was a look you had seen once before.
He was angry. His lip twitched as he fought off an annoyed hiss. His grip on your hand had become tight as he stared up at the sky.
“Jakesully? Does this? He ridicules you?” You didn’t say anything, too shocked to react to his awful mood. “That kurkung, I’ll slit his throat as he sleeps.”
“Please don’t kill him. That is a very terrible solution.” Tsu’tey grunted, letting go of your hand in anger. But why was he so angry. This was demon business, this shouldn’t concern him at all. What Jakesully and you did. It should not impact his emotions at all.
But watching the way your breath got shaky as you started talking about the scientists made his tremble in anger. It made his head hurt from the curses that he was fighting to keep in his mouth.
“Forget I told you, you probably don’t care about sky-person stuff.” Tsu’tey nodded, it broke your heart slightly. Did he really not care, but he looked so infuriated.
Tsu’tey then had an idea. It was perfect, it would fix at least a little of what you were upset about.
“Would you like to fly on my ikran? We can fly together.” Tsu’tey heard his mind screaming at him. What was he thinking? What kind of gesture would she think this is? But he wanted her to be happy. For some reason the sad look on your face made his chest ache and his eyes water. For once, maybe he should listen to his heart.
The bright eyed look on your face was enough for him to get his answer. “Of course, I would!”
━━━━━━━━━━━━
“Hold on tight. If you fall, you die.” You nodded into Tsu’tey’s shoulder as you wrapped your arms around his waist, squishing your face into his back, too afraid to look down. A seatbelt would be perfect in this situation.
The sound of the ikran’s wings taking off didn’t silence the way Tsu’tey’s heartbeat rapidly. It felt as if it was hammering against his ribs as he felt your fingers dig into his abdomen. He could feel your breath on his back as his ikran soared higher into the air.
“Open your eyes skxwang!” He shouted so you could hear him. You heart was doing the same as Tsu’tey’s. While it was also the insane thrill of flying on a dragon like creature. Your realisation of the utter proximity you had to Tsu’tey was making your stomach tighten.
“It’s beautiful up here.” Tsu’tey decided to be kind and simply let his ikran glide, no fancy turns, or dives. Or else he might lose his least annoying sky-demon.
“It is.” Like you. It was like a whisper in the back of his head. It was so quiet yet so loud. Like you. Were you beautiful? Your weird toes and fingers, your odd smile, your funny accent and kind nature. Maybe you were beautiful. Maybe. But this was wrong, this was forbidden.
To love an alien. To love a demon. But were you really that. Or were you just you? Tsu’tey couldn’t handle this debate in his mind so he shook it away.
Maybe he shook it towards you. Because while you looked at the beautiful landscapes below you, you couldn’t help but rest your head on Tsu’tey. His warmth making your heart flutter.
His stubborn and strong nature. He intimidated you. But talking to him felt so easy. The way he listened completely. Though you knew he was not a fan of your company, he still kept teaching you. He was kind and you saw that. He was a protector of the greatest rank. It was admirable, his pride and love for his people. You saw it in his eyes as he walked through Hometree and returned from protecting his people.
You knew you shouldn’t let yourself have these feelings. You shouldn’t let yourself want more from Tsu’tey when he didn’t want to give you anything. But his presence was warm, he was inviting and you couldn’t help but squeeze him tighter. Hoping that maybe your hopelessness would seep into him.
━━━━━━━━━━━━
Tsu’tey knew you were sleeping. That’s why he felt as if he was doing something so wrong. He saw Jake walk outside just moments ago. Why did he feel the need to be secretive? He didn’t need your approval to do anything.
Tsu’tey stalked Jake like he was prey. Watching his weak and gangly body (in his eyes) waltz through the forest. As soon as Tsu’tey felt that it was far enough, he pounced behind Jake making the demon jump in shock.
“Shit! Tsu’tey you cannot sneak up like that.” Tsu’tey hissed at him, and Jake’s eyes grew in worry. “Man, what’s got you riled up.”
“You.”
“Well yeah, I figured that much.” Jake rolled his eyes at the man in front of him only making him more infuriated.
“You disrespect Y/N.” Jake’s face contorted into confusion.
“What do you mean?” Jake watched as Tsu’tey’s hand reached down to his knife, holding onto the handle tightly. “Woah, let’s calm down here okay.”
“You don’t disrespect. I slit your throat. A dead Jakesully is a good Jakesully.” Tsu’tey’s voice was deep, his eyes were furious, rage spilling out. He bared his teeth to the cocky man ahead of him.
“Ok no killing. Jesus. Just what did she say to you?” Tsu’tey hissed at him again jolting towards him as released his knife.
“Do not question me! You don’t disrespect. And you live.” Tsu’tey had his knife unsheathed and pointing at Jake as he talked. He was seething, he was angry. He was livid all because of you.
“Ok ok ok! Fine! Can I go now? Fuck me.” Jake stormed off probably back to Neytiri as Tsu’tey relaxed his arm dropping his knife to the floor.
What did he just do? Why was he doing this? Why was he so adamant on protecting you? His mind was slowing falling apart and all the broken cracks were thoughts of you.
He couldn’t lie to himself any longer could he? He can’t live in denial anymore. He has fallen in love with you, a woman from another world, and he couldn’t bring himself to deny it. He was ardently in love with you.

Tsu’tey x fem!reader
warnings/notes: everything spoken is Na’vi. smut with no plot, tsu’tey is rly sweet then gets rough, p in v (unprotected), sub!reader, spanking (like twice), bit of a breeding kink, creampie, just filth. there’s not enough Tsu’tey love out there so i hope i do him justice.
Tìyawn- Love | Yawne- beloved
“does it feel good tìyawn?” He asks breathlessly as he fucks into your cunt above him at a fast pace. You can only respond with heavy pants and sighs as you grip onto his shoulders to stabilize yourself.
Letting him do all the work from below you begin to close your eyes, the feeling becoming to be too much. He’s stretching you out so good and with every thrust you feel him hit that spot inside of you.
“Look yawne, so pretty.” He says placing a hand on your abdomen, where you can clearly see his dick coming in and out. He looks up at you as you watch in awe at how good he’s making you feel.
Cupping your chin so you look at him he halts his movements. you let out a whine at the loss in friction desperately trying to feel him again, you begin swirling your hips in a circle.
“Stop tìyawn.” He commands you, placing his firm hands on your hips. Leaning down until your arms wrap around his neck, and your breasts are flush against his chest you begin to beg for him. “Please Tsu’teyy” You whine in his ear emphasizing the end of his name.
“Please what?” He responds coldly. “Please fuck me, give me your kids, let me have everything please.” Hissing at your words he lifts you off of him and repositions himself behind you, leaving you on all fours. “Arch your back for me.” He demands in a sweet tone. Trailing his hand from your ass to the back of your neck, you allow him to push you down until your cheek is touching the ground.
With each thrust you can hear the sound of your skin making contact with his and the wetness of your cunt. His balls are slapping your clit with each harsh thrust.
“Ughhh Tsu’tey please faster.” You beg reaching behind you to grasp his forearm that is glued to your hip. Your voice is shaking with each thrust into your pussy.
“Is this not fast enough for you? Eywa you’re so needy.” He scoffs and lifts his knee to the side fucking you deeper, reaching that spot in you that sets you off.
Gripping your hair pulling your neck back to watch your face, he sees your eyes rolling back into your skull at how good he’s making you feel. Slapping your ass he watches as you bite your lips and your eyes snap up to make contact with him.
“Who makes you feel this good?” He asks, and you begin to feel his dick twitch inside of you signaling he’s going to cum. “You do Tsu’tey- ah only you.” You mewl. “That’s right me. Your mate, your Olo'eyktan.” He says never once breaking eye contact with you. He looks so good with his stray braids knocking against his face at the force hes using to fuck you.
Releasing his grip on your hair he wraps an arm around you pulling you against his chest and the other around your neck to turn your head and kiss you. Moaning uncontrollably in his mouth you tell him you’re going to cum. “You wanna cum?” He grunts in your ear “Ah yes Tsu’tey please, please let me cum.”
“Cum for me tìyawn.” Thats all you need to lose yourself around his cock. Your walls tighten around him and you let out a pornographic moan. With one hard thrust he stops his moments, growling harshly into your ear, hips shaking as he paints your pink walls.
You stay in his arms as he waits for dick to stop it’s twitching inside of you. Placing a kiss on your cheek he lays your tired body back down and pulls out of you. The two of you moan in unison as he watches his cum seep out of you. Licking a strip from your clit to sticking his tongue inside, he pushes his cum back into you.
Flopping down next to you, you turn to look him into his eyes. He chuckles at your messy hair and tear stained cheeks. Nuzzling into his chest you place a leg across his hip as he rubs your back soothingly in a comfortable silence.
“I see you”
“I see you yawne” he replies kissing you atop your head

Tsu’tey as a Yandere - 2/2 (hc styled fic)
Link to part 1
Wc: 3.5k
Warnings/Tags: tsutey x f!Reader, human!reader, yandere behavior, stalking, obsessive behavior, mentions of mating as a tradition, traditional yandere kidnapping, Tsutey refers to the reader as mate, reader gets stranded for 0.2 seconds
A/N: Agh I’ve been busy but here’s the second part! Hope you guys like ti as much as the first, thank you so much for reading <33
- previously: “You smile one last time, clicking a save to the photo of Tsutey before you go back to the lens to take a photo of the moss. Your second night in the cave was spent munching on puffed grain, huddled in the musky pine scented blanket as you dreamed of beaded neck covers and toned blue arms.”-
-Days passed by like this, with the basket always being dropped off when you were unaware. Fruits, puffed grains, seasoned vegetables, and fresh food was being offered to you in the sharp contrast to the frozen microwave meals you used to be issued with the RDA. You didn’t mind it at all. Your capturer would often write you small notes with clumsy English, because you had no pen, you couldn’t write back, but you often said your responses out loud knowing he could probably hear you anyways.
-Over some time, you learned that his name was Tsutey, he was a part of the omaticaya clan and shouldered a lot of responsibility, somewhere in the back of your mind you briefly remember Dr.Augustine mentioning him during your training to be a ambitious kid, maybe that’s where he learned English. Slowly, you found comfort with him being the only person you were interacting with, you guys were both givers, people who scooped out the purest of their heart to give to others just to have it crushed in front of them, you guys both enjoyed the nature of pandora, the color red, and actions of service as a love language.
-Oftentimes, you would leave your camera in the basket for him to take pictures of his life, you would get back snapshots of the navi clan, silly mishap photos where he clicked too early and caught only his arm and a blurry shot of a basket, and more hints of his body. You often teased him, joking that you wished the camera had a front lens so that you can see his face, though you knew he wasn’t ready for that. You tried to make things for him as a return for his hospitality and care, many sorry excuses of flower crowns were used from the material you can find off the forest floor, as well as a bark that you carved his name into with a small heart next to it using a sharp stone.
-Tsutey would slowly find smaller ways to embed you more into his life too, he took a sample of colorful hair beads to you one day and let you pick your favorite (of course, you picked red, like the color his heart that belonged solely to you now), the next day, that coral red irregular shaped bead was strewn all throughout his hair.
-Visits became more and less guarded, oftentimes you could see the whisk of a blue tail as baskets were dropped off or a baritone deep, hearty laugh as you told him about your life as a human before he took you. You even slowly picked up on some navi for him, though you can hear the smile in his words as you experimentally taste the foreign words on your tongue
-Tsutey had rarely gone back to the tribe now except to sleep, many members were getting worried that the most talented warrior seemed to always be absent, leaving early morning and coming back at night, but eventually they had accepted that he deserved a much needed break and stopped trying to pester him
-Every day before Tsutey dropped off your basket of necessities, he would go scavenging in the forest for anything pretty to try to impress you with how much he can offer, his mate deserved the cave to be filled with treasures after all. Countless times your basket would be loaded with riverstones that glowed in the dark, rare flowers, and pretty ferns. You took a picture of them all and kept your little collection of treasures near your sleeping corner of the cave and looked at them often whenever Tsutey wasn’t there to hear or watch you
Seeing how much you treasured and adorned his offerings, Tsutey decided to make the ultimate romantic proposal, a hand woven bracelet with beads he carved himself. The craft had taken Tsutey a long time, not staying as long as he usually would after dropping off baskets to return to the village and learn to weave the intricacy. It was woven with soft bark and infused with essential oils, embracing the red beads tsutey hand carved. After many days, you find the accessory layed elegantly in the basket flourishing of your favorite fruits. This was the final offering, if you accepted, Tsutey would officially stop hiding you in this circle in the forest and take you as his mate.
You picked it up in wonder, “tsutey” you whisper, “did you make this”? You say, eyes wide as you slip the bracelet on without a second thought. The way you looked at the bracelet, Tsutey could only imagine what those eyes would feel like on him
Tsutey’s heart almost stops at how willingly you take his offering, and he hums, almost desperately in response. “Took me a while” he says, accented english brittle with emotion
“I love it” you smile, twirling the bracelet around happily. It was like an indirect touch, like his fingers that worked on the bracelet on your wrist. Tsutey was barely able to leave the top cave that night, staying up late to talk to you, when he finally got the words “mate” out, his heart was pumping at the speed of light, when he sees a gleeful smile and blush on your face as you nod, he knew right there that this is what he has been looking for, what all those years of giving returned him.
The night ended with a “oel ngati kameie'' as tsutey gleefully whisked back to his hut, he finally had a mate! He’s not alone any more, he has you. You’re his, all his. He finally has something to himself, almost for the first time in life. He never had to battle or prove to be worth your attention, you never asked more of him than he happily offered. His smile while staring at the light woven ceilings of his hut that night was unimaginable, soon, you would be here with him!
Sleep was difficult for the pair of mates, excited about their future with each other
You woke up early the next day, a bit restless after Tsutey’s proposal to be mates with you. Does that mean you finally get to see him? Will you be with his clan? How would it work between you two as a human and navi? Would his clan accept you?
Questions raced through your mind and you couldn’t stop thinking about the man who had seen compassion and a piece of himself in you that one night, and maybe his method and approach was wrong, but falling for him and your past month with him has made you feel the most fulfilling source of calmness in contrast to the rushed yet mundane days in the lab
You waited excitedly for Tsutey to come, he promised he would reveal himself today and take you back to hometree, you played with the bracelet he gave you, fingers looping through the beads he carved himself.
It was a rainy day, and after missing Tsutey’s usual morning basket, you begin to grow a bit worried, he had never even showed up late once. Was he okay? Was he injured? Did he finally forget about you?
The wind blew through the cave and whisked away the white lab coat you had been laying out front, you had taken it off a while ago when nights became warmer. The coat landed a bit far out into the patch of forest, muttering a curse to yourself, you stepped out of the cave, the rain showering you immediately, as you trooped through the squleching mud to pick up your lab coat, stained from blowing straight into a wet puddle, nontheless, you reach down to pick it up, as you do, the bracelet Tsutey endearingly made blows right off your arm with the wind’s cruel angles and flown straight past the stone boulders. You yelp in panic, chasing after it with your soaked lab coat still in your arms.
Without thinking twice you slip out between the stone boulders Tsutey set, eyes manically looking for the coral red beaded accessory that was still being whipped away consistently by the wind, blowing fast and higher as you chased it through the muddled greens of the pandora forest until the loop caught on a tree
You stumble forward, tiptoeing to reach just enough to feel the bracelet and attempt to snatch it down, your abdomen hurted from the stretch and you huff, the bracelet barely budged, wiggling on the branch as if to tantalize you for your stupidity. You groan, jumping higher with no help from the wind that seemed to prevent all chances of you getting your beloved bracelet back. You try to climb the tree, but with your wet hands and soaked lab coat weighing you down it was no use
A low growl resembling the thunder that sounded in the sky however, noticed you that your bracelet was the least of your troubles now. You back up against the tree defensively, trying to discern the source and direction of the sound as you see a flash of a matte black mammal. Your eyes look desperately in the direction where you came from, but the cave and the circular stone boulders seem to be completely out of sight, you cling to the bark of your tree, short of breath as you pray that you can at least see tsutey one last time before becoming stranded again
Tsutey woke up late that day, oversleeping due to being so happy about becoming your mate. When he saw the time and the darkening sky, his heart dropped. His poor mate! All alone in the cave, she hasn’t even had breakfast yet and she was braving the storm out by herself! He hurriedly stuffed whatever edible foods he could find into the basket before he rushed off in the direction of the forest. But not before being stopped by one of the clan members
“Tsutey, we need you to lead a hunt today at eclipse, our hunting parties have been lost in strategy without you, you cannot keep neglecting this anymore” The male says sternly
Tsutey growled, frustrated and just wanting to get to his mate who could very much be in danger “Oh yes, now that you need me for hunt parties you can check up on me, what happened to asking or caring about me as anything other than this clans warrior” he says coldly, hoping to cut the conversation short
“Tsutey this tribe needs you, you’ve been neglecting your duties for a month, all you’ve been doing is filling up baskets and taking the clan’s fruit, we are really short on-” The male presses again but is cut off with a swift turn of tsuteys head, eyes in slits as he vocalized his frustration
“You know what I’m short on? How much I can keep giving until you guys can see that I’m a living, breathing navi and not a hunting machine or a ikran trainer. I’ve served this clan for my whole life and suddenly when it comes to me it only takes and takes, but when I take some fruits and grains it becomes outrageous. if you need hunts, give me something other than your reliance and demand.” He articulates, the emotions he’s been compiling for years spilling out as the clan begins to circle around him.
“And for your information” Tsutey whips his head away from him, focusing on his path to your spot again as his grip around the basket tightens “I haven’t been neglecting, I’ve been doing what normal male navi do at this age which is finding a mate.”
Tsutey’s path to his spot seemed a lot longer in the rain that day, by the time he reached your cave, he didn’t care about revealing himself as he hurriedly rushed to the mouth, basket in hand as his eyes widened. Only the barren grey walls, and your collection of the treasures and trinkets he’s brought you, but you weren’t there. Your lab coat was gone too
Tsutey hurriedly chased after the footsteps you left in the mud, and when he saw that you stepped out of the boulder, his heart seized in rage. How dare you? After all he has done for you? Were you just a taker too? Was all the reassurance and time you gave him fake?
He shook his thoughts away, no, it couldn’t be, where would you go even if you did escape? And he knew you liked him, he smelled your pheromones last night while you guys talked. So where were you?
As the viperwolf approaches you, you swallow thickly, you knew it was carnivorous and you could only hope it didnt have any appetite for human blood as you closed your eyes, mud squelching underneath you as you took a deep breath, preparing it to be your last
You feel nothing but suddenly there's a splash of mud and a sudden grunt, before you hear the viperwolf far far away yelping, you open your eyes and see flashes of blue before you, angrily circling you as he approaches, keeping you pinned against the tree
“Tsutey?” you breath out nervously, he seemed angry and it definitely wasnt the way you wanted to see his reveal, but even with his furrowed eyes your heart softened as he approached you
“Are you insane? '' He breathed out heavily, voice almost breaking as toned arms pinned you agains the trunk of the tree. “What were you out here for! Could die!” He exclaimed, voice almost breaking as his thick english resounded through the forest, the rain water trailing down his arms
You tear up, your eyes burning as you try to explain the situation but your words fail you, you cover your face with your hands, humiliated at the situation
Tsutey’s tensed shoulders drop when he hears your tears, eyes widening when he sees your wrist, the bracelet gone. What did this mean? Did he scare you that much? Did you reject him? Did you-
His eyes follow your fingers as you point up silently while hiccuping, to the bracelet hung high on the branch, turning slightly in the wind. His chest sinks, he had misunderstood you horribly, you must’ve chased all the way out here because it got blown away during the storm.
Tsutey silently reaches his one arm up while gently snaking the other around your waist, pulling you into his torso as he retrieves the bracelet for you, gently clasping it around your wrist.
“Sorry” he says quietly, his voice sounding of bass as he holds your wet lab suit for you and gently cradles you in his arms. His body immediately relaxes when it feels yours, though much shorter and smaller, he almost melts into you, caressing your hair gently. “Lets go to home tree now, mate, sorry” he mutters again, leaning down to look in your eyes as he picks you up effortlessly and begins to walk back to the cave to collect his basket and the little belongings you had to transport
You sniffle and nod, all frustration evaporating when you feel yourself carried by him, you gulp nervously, taking in his face as you held eye contact with him the entire time back to the cave, as you two began to drift into warm conversation as blankets were folded and your trinklets were loaded into the familiar basket. You shyly trace your eyes over the angular, cat like face and tsutey felt your heart beat louder, his arms holding you slightly tighter as his heart jumped in glee.
-The walk back to hometree was quiet, but in a good way, in the way that you knew things would be alright. You played with the scrunchie on tsutey’s hand (well technically, your scrunche) as the rain slowly calmed down.
-When you had finally arrived at the base, you felt nervous. Navi were not extremely harmonious with humans at this time and you looked down as tsutey walked you proudly around the clan like it was a normal day. After taking you to eytucan, the leader, he sighed in defeat. Knowing that both his daughters were previously promised to Tsutey, and that Tsutey had his potential mate taken away both times, he felt bad if he couldn’t let Tsutey be happy at least once with who he wanted. The Tsahik examined you for a while before determining that eywa welcomed you to a place in a clan, and just like that, Tsutey strolled out of the hut, uncaring for any other clan member’s opinions, commentaries about your human form, or awkward gawking as he held you and led you straight to his hut
-Not many words are exchanged, and not many are needed, as long as Tsutey had you. For the first time that night, you two ate dinner together at the union, where you met the infamous avatar Jake Sully and enjoyed your fruits and grains to the fullest without a mysterious delivery from Tsutey. Tsutey admired you wordlessly as you peeled fruits and conversed with clan members in fluent navi (credit to him) like you were born to be a part of this, you had slipped into his life so perfectly, so seamlessly that he months of isolation at the cave seemed pointless. His tail flicks happily before wrapping around your waist, the smooth slide of your cotton lab coat (still wet from the rain and mud) reminding him to give you new navi clothes
-That night was the best night you two have slept in a long time, with the dirt and the grime from the rain properly washed from you (tsutey took you to your first ever river bath, it was revolutionary) and Tsuteys wide, pink, cat like nostrils breathing calmly against your scalp, relaxing as your phermones filled his nose as his palms smoothed over your body, snoozing away peacefully with the feeling of your tiny body swathed by his
-Soon, you became an irreplaceable constant in Tsutey’s life as he faded back into his usual role, training young navi, hunting, and being a warrior but with new motivation not only to protect the home he had but for you. And knowing he’d come back to his warm, home-like hut with your belongings scuttered along with his bows and arrows, and that you’d never ask or demand more of him, that as soon as the eclipse sets into the night everyday all you would give him is your love, his rage and constant giving was finally reciprocated
-He would take you on ikran rides, making sure to share his world with you as much as you gave him your love, the deep rumbles of his chest against your back as he held you tight and soared through the pandora skies as you tell him about your daily experiences in the clan
-New beaded navi clothes would be adorned on you, though he still loved the way you looked in a lab coat, the signature coral bead of tsutey’s choosing against your bare hips had a addicting effect on tsutey
-Tsutey would be so proud the day he officially mated with you, with eywa as witness in front of the tree of souls, although tsaheylu couldn’t be formed, that night as you both stood under the holy tree the love and sense of belonging to eachohter had never been stronger
-Tsutey who would have a hard time (even harder after you guys became mated) watching how lovable and admirable you are, easily earning hearts, friendships, and disgustingly clingy eyes of other members of the tribe. Tsutey who would constantly have a tail around your waist and leave scatters of love bites across the exposed skin your navi adornments allowed, the red blooms reminding the clan of who the cute human belonged to
-Tsutey who would fight every last RDA soldier, plunging the knife deep into their sorry flesh, for they were the ones who kept you away for so long, until you stumbled into his arms like a present from the earth, and now they were here trying to take more of what he loved, his home.
-Tsutey who doesn’t care if he comes back to your shared hut bathed in blood because he knew you’d understand, he was only protecting you from the many evils of the world who wanted to take you for the unlimited love you had to give, and they were extremely undeserving. Deep down, even Tsutey felt undeserving, but he would never tell you that.
-Tsutey who still brings back little trinkets, fresh flowers, and anything pretty he stumbles upon during his time out, holding it behind his back and when you approach him with a long desired hug after he’s been out, Tsutey who will always think of you as his treasure.
-Tsutey who knew that every bit that he gave will always be returned in some way, every time he protected and isolated you from the undeserving greed of others for your own good was returned with your love, every time he glared at the clan members who stared at you for seconds too long menancingly on a hunt would be returned with that same member’s own scorn around you the next time, arms burning from Tsutey’s lesson to them
- Tsutey who now learned that he didn’t have to scour every bit out of himself to prove that he was worthy of something or to convince someone to say, who learned that what belonged to him will always find its way, just like you did all those nights ago when you stumbled into his heart with your doting of the direhourse. Knowing that your love would stay without asking for anything from him in return.

“Not At Home” Ch. 4
pairing: tsu’tey x reader
words: 4.2k
summary: After being raised in the Metkayina, you're suddenly placed in the middle of peace talks. Where your responsibility is to understand the Omaticaya way, to embrace the culture, and to make friends. It surprises you to find yourself suddenly involved in things like love, war, and suffering. Will you succeed and adjust? Or will your tale end differently than you had anticipated?
Chapter 5.
slow burn romance.
Once you had made your way back inside the hometree, you instantly went to get your body checked for any injuries by the actual physical chief of the Omaticaya. She was kind, and never once acted as if you were an outcast. You learned her name was Feymana, and she had been in charge of taking care of injuries ever since she had turned of age – taught since she was a child to treat wounds and illness. It was relaxing to be in the presence of an Omaticaya who clearly opened their hearts to you other than the chief's close family. It almost felt… foreign. And that truth left you slightly saddened.
Feymana heard your complaints and insecurities, she preached that one’s mind must be healthy for the body to keep up. And she was right. You felt that after each session you had with her, you could see the world a little brighter – understand it a little more. It was honestly, what you would call, therapeutic.
So after you got your body checked and she just gave you orders to watch what kind of exercise you do – you were running off to the middle of the hometree. Eager to finally eat after an exhausting day of training, even if what you had done wasn’t the hardest training. The constant bullying and emotional stress left you wanting nothing more than to rest calmly in your bed at the end of the day.
Undoubtedly, the looks were still there. But as time went on, you could feel them clinging to your body less and less. Almost as if they were just making sure you were still present. It was simple for them to notice you even from a distance due to the lighter hue of blue on your skin.
You moved to sit in the same location as yesterday once you were precisely in the middle. At the very front of the circle, close to the chiefs and their family. It gave you a feeling of security that no one would be able to harass you while you were in front of them, and that perception turned out to be accurate. When you were near to them, you had never noticed mocking looks or voices directed at you. You began to wonder if the leaders were unaware of the frequent humiliation you had to put up with simply by existing. Or if Tsu'tey—the person seated next to them—had told them about such things. Or were those matters too unimportant for him to bring up with the chiefs? There were many questions inside of you, questions that you couldn’t ask them yourself.
One of the Na'vi standing by your side brought you what appeared to be well-cooked meat, on top of a big leaf being used as a plate, and simply the aroma piqued your appetite. So they did eat meat in Omaticaya. The flavor filled your entire body with pleasure as you slid the delicate flesh to your mouth. Even if it didn't taste anything like it did in Metkayina, it was nonetheless delicious to the tongue. The cuisine is given even more taste by the tiny charred corners. This kind of meal is something you could easily become used to.
Unnoticed by you, Mo'at was observing the scene while smiling softly. The attention from strangers made you feel uneasy, and she frequently saw that you were extremely nervous about your surroundings. When she was around, she felt it was her job to offer a piercing glare to anyone who even glanced at you unfairly for a split second. Mo'at could only fathom the struggles you may have been going through. She decided that talking to you about your feelings would be too intrusive in your personal space, so she chose to stand in the background and watch quietly over you. Like you were one of her daughters.
Something else was on Mo'ats mind ever since you arrived. It seemed Neytiri and Sylwanin were always away, leaving you in the care of Tsu'tey daily without even glancing back. Mo'at felt what she could only describe as a mother's disappointment. Her children were leaving their duties to Tsu'tey, who was extremely busy daily training young warriors. Mo'at could remember precisely her words.
Train her yourselves.
How incompetent had her children become? You weren't a mere warrior of the people, you were the child of an Olo'Eyktan.
She wasn't displeased by Tsu'teys performance on training you. If she had to, she would agree that he was the best choice. But this wasn't just an experience for you, this was supposed to be a learning experience for her daughters. For them to learn of the different ways of the people, to help and embrace the differences while offering a gentle hand of friendship. But all they were treating this was a simple training course. The thought alone made her mood instantly sour, the smile fading from her face as she focused on restraining her tail from moving – the last thing she wanted was to show her current bad mood.
But there was something else threatening her peace. Neytiri and Sylwanin were still not sitting in the circle. And she had an underlying suspicion about their whereabouts. Mo’at wasn’t stupid, she had her ways of knowing stuff she wanted to know – to seek out answers for her questions. They both were with the sky people, at first, Mo’at was gonna call them out for their reckless behavior. But the more she watched them interact with them, the more she opened her heart to let them make wrong choices by themselves – to see how wrong they were about the sky people. They didn’t want to learn, they wanted to conquer and steal from Ewya. Mo’at only hoped that this bitter decision would not end with one of her kids injured. But it was Ewya’s wish to let them discover.
You finished your meal happily, the meal itself almost making you forget the distress you had endured earlier. All the tension on your shoulders were slowly, but surely, easing up as the time for bed eased closer and closer. You turned your eyes towards the chiefs and noticed the daughters were gone, you hadn’t seen Neytiri since earlier and Sylwanin since yesterday. A spike of curiosity and fear dawned upon you at the realization of where they went. Were they late because the sky people had harmed them in any way? At the mere thought of it you could feel the tension returning to you.
Fortunately, just as you were about to let your thoughts overtake your mind – Neytiri and her sister, Sylwanin, walked past you. None of them seemed to give you a glance as they approached the chiefs. Your ears focused intensely to try and hear their words.
“The sky people have a proposal.” – Neytiri’s quiet, hushed voice reached your ears first.
Your eyes saw the frown in Tsu’teys face, then in Eytukans. Mo’ats face remained stoic and void of any emotion as she stared at her daughters. All of them remained quiet at her words, and your eyes awkwardly met with Eytukans for a split second before you were averting your gaze away. You could feel the shame inside you quickly build up, and you hoped he wouldn’t shun you for listening in on their conversation.
“Come, you are of age and Tawukoi’s daughter. It is only fair for you to have a say in this.” Mo’ats voice almost made you jump, as she calmly put one of her hands on your shoulder.
You quickly lifted your eyes to her, her face expression was stoic but still held a slightly calming aura to it you couldn’t understand why. Your words seemed to be caught up in your throat because all you could give as an answer was a curt nod of your head as you raised to your feet. While following them, you noticed the air was tense and that Tsu’tey was also joining in the clan meeting. You weren’t exactly surprised by his appearance there, but it was still another thing that Tsu’tey and Tonowari shared between each other, you thought. They had to attend every single meeting in the clan to understand exactly what their future would hold.
Once you reach a certain area, away from the peering eyes.
“The sky people want to learn. They want peace, and a school to teach the people our culture.” Sylwanin spoke out as soon as she felt the eyes on her.
A scoff escaped Eytukan’s mouth at the mere words. His expression only confirmed what he was insinuating with a scoff, what an absurd idea. Not only were the sky people destroying the beautiful forest, but they had an underlying plan about this – Eytukan was sure of it. The demons were smart, and they couldn’t be trusted. Even without ever talking to them, Eytukan understood that. The way they treated Ewya and her children showed him enough.
“Are you insane?” – Tsu’tey hissed out what everyone was thinking besides Neytiri. His eyes fixated in Sylwanin with a feeling of bitterness in his eyes.
Sylwanin only cast him a frowning look. And all of a sudden, you were reminded of their previous encounter and what Tsu'tey had revealed to you. The anger he currently held in his gaze suddenly had an underlying meaning to you, he wasn’t just angered about her proposal – he was angered at her mere existence beside him.
“Tsu’tey.” Tsu'tey swiftly shifted his sight away from Sylwanin after hearing Eytukan speak sharply. As though gazing at her would make him angrier.
“The sky people, they could be changed. If we show them the way of Ewya, and her beauty, they could change.” Neytiri tried to convince her parents of her position as she urgently sought their approval.
You had never seen a sky person. So to judge them, you only had rumors about their cruel ways of destroying the innocent life of the forest. You could only wonder what kind of relationship Neytiri and Sylwanin had with them to even propose this idea to the chiefs. An idea that seemed almost like a suicide attempt. Not only would they know more about the culture, they would know about the sacred places of Pandora – and even worse, where your actual home resided.
“You are out of your mind, Neytiri.” Eytukan hissed out, ears flattening as his scowl deepened. “They cannot be changed.”
“How do we know if we don’t try, father?” Sylwanin spoke quickly after him, protecting her younger sister from his judgemental eyes. “It is my idea and scientist Grace.”
“Now you’re on a first name basis with them?” Tsu’tey sounded baffled by her words, his gaze completely ignoring Sylwanin – who longingly stared at her mate.
The whole scene happening in front of you was strange. You almost felt as if, even if you were invited to be here, you weren’t supposed to. None of them were looking at you, all eyes were focused on Neytiri and Sylwanin alone. Not even when Tsu’tey spoke out, their eyes wavered to him, they were only preoccupied with both their daughters.
“Who is this ‘scientist’ Grace?” Mo'at asked with a scornful tone in her voice.
“She’s the one who we’ve been meeting with. She has taught us their language, and she is kind.” – Neytiri spoke calmly.
“Kind?” Eytukan hissed out. “What she’s doing to our forest is kind?”
You were convinced that people in the area of the entire tree could hear him because of how loud his voice was. Everyone in the circle appeared stiff and quiet in response to Eytukan's abrupt outburst as though to avoid enraging him further than he already was. Only Mo'at, who was standing next to him, appeared at ease. She appeared to be deliberating which card to play to give her daughters leverage while assessing her available options.
Mo’at didn’t want war. She also had no desire to interact with the sky people. Who better to defend them in the difficult circumstance the Omaticaya have found them in, nevertheless, than their own enemy? She was aware of the danger that this alliance would pose, but if they turned it down, only Ewya could fully predict their destiny. The terrible reality was that the sky people possessed a power that they were powerless to withstand. Death-firing machines that were impossible to evade. She had witnessed the level of havoc they caused, and everyone else had as well. But a tiny glimmer of hope inside Mo'at told her plainly that if there was any chance to put things right, this was it.
“Maybe they have a point.” Mo’at breathed out calmly, trying her best to word things carefully. “This might be a chance to let them see our way. So they can stop their killings.”
This time, all the eyes were on Mo’at. Some hopeful, some shocked. You stared at her with shock, you never thought that Mo’at would give in to her daughter's wishes. They sounded, with all due respect, crazy to even propose such an alliance. But this was becoming more and more unbelievable as time passed.
“Don’t you agree?” Mo’at asked towards you, her eyes staring in yours.
With everyone’s sudden eyes on you, you felt instantly pressured to agree. “I agree!”
Tsu'tey initially had a questioning expression in his eyes, but it soon changed into a glance whose meaning you weren't quite sure of. However, Neytiri and Sylwanin appeared to be nearly delighted to have you concur with their thoughts, as seen by the broad smiles that briefly appeared on their faces. They were aware that, if this were a vote-related issue, there were currently more votes in their favor than against. Eytukan scowled at you, obviously observing your anxiety but dismissing it by insinuating that you were only reluctant to voice your view because they were the chiefs.
Tsu'tey was asking himself a lot of questions as he saw the situation in front of him, silently pleading with Eytukan to disprove this idea. No matter how easily the sky people could be reformed, the harm they had already done to Ewya and their forest could not be undone. With their machines, they destroyed peace and took lives. The only thing that remained were the ashes of a lovely reminiscence, which broke Tsu'tey's heart. The resentment inside him grew without any boundaries, and there was no stopping it – not when he relentlessly closed his heart at the idea of forgiveness.
“It is decided then. But take slow steps.” Eytukan said, voice holding a certain edge on it – the bitterness still slightly evident.
After saying his words, he simply turned around to head back to the circle, leaving you alone with the others. Mo’at gave her daughters a careful look, almost as if scanning their bodies for any injuries of some sort.
“Careful. We open our home, but never our hearts.” – She spoke, her words slow to make sure they understood exactly what she was saying without any mistakes.
Both of them nodded towards their mother, respectfully acknowledging her words. Then all of a sudden, you were left with them and Tsu'tey by yourself. A part of you was relieved that they didn't inquire as to why you believed it would be a good idea to befriend the sky people, since you weren't sure you could come up with a compelling justification if they had. The sky people couldn't really teach your people anything. The na'vi were unwilling to learn the skills required to destroy and exploit the lives of the vulnerable and innocent in pursuit of goals or pure enjoyment. From a very young age, you were taught that life required balance and complete respect for each and every creature that roamed Pandora.
Ewya was all around you. And she was a kind mother, who asked nothing more than respect between her children.
You caught a glimpse of Sylwanin reaching out to touch Tsu'tey, but the na'vi just cast her a contemptuous look and turned away. Neytiri regarded the situation with compassion in her eyes and a hidden resentment for Tsu'tey that you could perceive. Sylwanin simply sighed and shifted her hand to lazily hang next to her. You almost felt pity. After hearing what Tsu'tey had said, you could see Tsu'tey's point of view, but you also felt bad for Sylwanin. None of them were making any attempts to live the life they desired. One of them wanted attention and love, while the other only wanted to be free. It was a romance that was both bitter and sweet, and ultimately would only bring about suffering.
Tsu’tey gave you one last glance before he was heading behind Mo’at and Eytukan.
“Thank you.” – Soft words were spoken beside you.
Sylwanin hid her anguish at being dismissed by Tsu'tey in front of her own family by maintaining a feigned smile.
“Come with me, I’ll explain about the sky people to you.” She said, heading towards the circular roots in the middle of the tree.
You simply followed her without giving it much consideration. You didn't realize Neytiri was keeping an eye on you as you made your way to the top of the tree. She wasn't foolish; she noticed the fleeting looks between Tsu'tey and you. It wasn't a typical glance; it had a hidden significance that she was unaware of. It was a glance, though, that she hoped Tsu'tey could have given to her sister instead; even a casual smile would do. When his future mate, who voluntarily loved him with all of her being, was there, she couldn't stand to see the contempt on his features. What more could he possibly need than that?
This was a daily worry for Sylwanin and Neytiri. Only toward the one who loved him the most did Tsu'tey seem to have a cold and distant heart.
Once you had reached the top, where most of the banshees resided in – sleeping comfortably without a fear in the world, Sylwanin sat down on one of the sturdy branches. Quickly folding your legs to sit in front of her, you did the same.
“The sky people think it would be a good idea that we understand each other.” – She started gently, her tail flickering slightly from feeling slightly nervous at explaining. “So maybe, we can make them understand how important our forest is to us.”
You immediately questioned whether you were talking about the same kind of people when she said her first few words. In Metkayina's opinion, the demons were not someone who could be changed or made a friend with because they were seen to be merciless and unchanging. The simple concept she was attempting to convey to you thus appeared to be a strange fantasy, one that the sky people had ingrained in them and which served a hidden agenda. You could feel it.
“But it seems they’re unchanging.” You told Sylwanin simply, eager to have her change your mind.
Her eyes bore into yours and she let out a small sigh, averting her gaze somewhere else while she was lost in thought.
“Grace told me that this is a start to try and change them.” Sylwanin breathed out. “And I know it may seem crazy, but it is our last chance to peacefully reason with them.”
She was right about her statement, if their plan didn’t work with this ‘school’, the only thing left to do was to go to war. You suddenly had a sense of anxiety as you realized you were caught up in the midst of everything and had no viable means to escape. If conflict broke out, you doubted you would be of much assistance to the Omatikaya because you were unable to fly a banshee and had no idea how to obtain one. You felt almost ashamed of yourself when you realized how useless you were to the people. You could easily fight alongside your people if this were Metkayina.
“They really wanted this school.” – Sylwanin stared off into the thick forest in front of you.
You did the same, your fear of the height fading since you were forced to climb down the tree on your very first day.
“Maybe I can also prove myself to others if this succeeds.”
You were able to identify the subject of her conversation without even glancing at her. Tsu’tey. It was clear that she didn't need to impress her parents because both Neytiri and her parents already respected and cared for her. The person she desired for the most was the only person in her life who didn't think highly of her. You started to wonder if she was the one who persevered in trying to bond with Tsu'tey. Sylwanin seems to be almost... fixated on the idea of his love. It was unfortunate that she was pulling him away from her more and more as she urged him to love her.
“To Tsu’tey?” – You asked.
Her eyes bore into your side, and with a quiet whisper, she spoke. “Yes.”
She sounded like she was trying hard not to cry in front of you by straining her voice. In order to avoid upsetting her by discussing her private matters, you dared not to enquire any further than what you had already mentioned. The fact that she was having trouble speaking clearly at the moment just served to emphasize how unprepared she was to face her worst dread. You questioned whether she could imagine a time when Tsu'tey wasn't her companion.
“I just wish… he could love me like I love him.” She whispered again, to no one in particular.
“I’m sorry.” – You simply offered, unsure of what to say to comfort her.
“Don’t be. Tsu’tey is the best warrior, I’m sure if I prove my worth to him – he’ll love me.”
You wanted to confront her and say, "You're wrong." Tsu'tey had fully cut off his heart to her, based on what you had observed of him; he just harbored a deep resentment towards her. He didn't want to be imprisoned, and Sylwanin was robbing him of the one thing he most desired: his own freedom. He had grown up learning to battle fiercely in the hopes that, as Olo'Eyktan, he would have the freedom to make the choices he felt were best for his own life. There was no place for Sylwanin in his life, and you so desperately wished you could tell her that – but it was too harsh, too cruel for you to do so. Especially since you were a stranger in their home, someone they called sister just because of orders and honor.
“Do you love someone?” Sylwanin spoke, a slight smile on her face.
The question caught you off guard, and you shockingly stared at her. “No, I don’t.”
True, you weren't precisely certain if you had ever loved someone in your life the way she did love Tsu'tey. The friends from Metkayina were just close friends, not romantically involved. Never before had you felt so deeply for another person that you could refer to it as love, accept all of their imperfections, and be their sole supporter. But once more, your parents never put any pressure on you to find someone like that. They gave you the entire freedom to live your life anyway you pleased.
“What does it feel like?”
“Like magic.” – Sylwanin smiled at you.
You grinned a little at her statement because you wouldn't describe Sylwanin's current circumstance as magical. It seemed to be the complete opposite, if anything. Yet again, she wasn't discussing her overall circumstances; rather, she was referring to the sensation of loving and being loved. If her partner didn't love her, would she still feel that way? You almost wanted to ask. But you simply couldn't; you wouldn't. One of your primary failings has always been curiosity. Since you were a small child, you were taught when and how it was appropriate to inquire about the sentiments of others.
“You’ll feel it one day, I’m sure.” She broke you off of your thoughts.
You only gave her a smile as an answer, a small nod towards her in agreement. You merely desired the na'vi you loved could love you back; you never doubted that you would fall in love one day. That nothing would prevent your love from being expressed.
It was a simplistic desire, and you hoped Ewya could grant it. A sweet and calm love, the likes of which you had never previously known from another, filled with nothing but kindness. The na'vi you were going to love was going to be a strong individual you could rely on and protect your future family. They were going to always put you before everyone else. The "magical" feeling Sylwanin had just described gave you butterflies at the mere thought of it.
Little did you know, Ewya had other plans for you.
