TSSM style Part 5! Let's gooo!!

These were both fun to make and a challenge to work on, yet I am very pleased with the outcomes of all 3 of them!

What role does the symbiote/Venom play in the Apprentice AU?

Does Quentin put the pieces together sooner? Does the symbiote, & by extension Eddie feel jealous of Quentin for 'taking Peter away'?

Ooh!! Okay so things are a bit different from the show in a few ways by the point the symbiote comes to earth, which shakes up everything. SO lets hit the highlights and i hope this makes sense, please let me know if it doesnt. All subject to change  but this is how i think it will go. (also if some of the ideas are probably accidentally stolen im very sorry @kzele, you are amazing talking about characters and their reactions so inspired credit goes here as a blanket) 

1. Peter turns down the initial offer from the Connors lab. He does not have the time and he honestly feels like he wants to go into computer tech and coding when he grows up rather than anything with bio-chemistry. Not that he dislikes the subject!! He just wants to focus on growing his tech skills. Quentin has also introduced him to the patent process and he owns at least one. 

The fact that it was not paid really did not help sell it. So he can't have been fired after the lizard incident because he was never hired. Whoot whoot. 

2. Stepping backwards in time; if I understand the plot line of the show,  Peter is bit a year before the show. In the first episode, a teacher says it was ‘last year’ but i know American teachers who refer to january as ‘last year’ since its previous school year. so it happened in March or May. I would put Peter meeting Quentin a while before that in like October the year before. 

So this is a clearer time line:

Peter meets Quentin, Eddie has conflicted feelings when he finds out that Peter has found a mentor (jealousy that peters time is taken up by others, jealousy that peter found another adult that cared about him), Then the trip to the lab where peter gets bit happens in late march. Peter figures out his powers and really really wants to make some money with this. He says nothing to Quentin or his uncle or aunt about it. Then Uncle ben gets shot in may. Peter goes mute and focuses on becoming spiderman. Gets the crook. SUMMER. Peter ends up taking some photos and Quentin convinces him to have a photographer ‘pen’ name. Its a bit of extra cash on the side while he works towards creating stuff.

After the summer Eddie is a freshman in college and is at the lab working. Gwen comes to work there. Peter does not. 

Eddie has been sorta in and out of contact ever since he graduated, but does call up peter every once in a while and is a little disappointed his “bro” didnt jump at the opportunity. He goes to talk to Peter about it and Peter gives a little shrug and shows off one of his Kinkajou drones and eagerly talks about the new career he wants. And Eddie sort of gets it.

3. Since there is no bad blood, Eddie does manage to swing getting Peter to look at the alien. From a distance!! And Peter keeps that distance, but is super excited. Eddie is really happy to have given his friend an opportunity most people cannot provide.  (he notices peters bumps and bruises and is super worried, has been since the end of the summer.)

4. Sadly. It escapes. Because black cat still is a person who wants to crime. So she crimes. It latches onto Peter, and is able to spend a few days with him. Then Peter pops into Quentin’s lab one day while Quentin has the music bumpin. And its a little louder than spider senses like and is way more than the symbiote likes. Peter feels the pain in his brain and ends up falling over as it tries to hold on. Quentin puts it in a strong container and then rouses Peter. Peter is like!!! Back to the lab!!! 

He gets it back to the lab and relocks it in. Eddie sees Spidey doing this. Spidey, since there has been no major incident doensnt try to murder it. However, it does escape onto eddie and feeds on his insecurity of being alone in college and Peter moving on and all the stress of trying to manage his life. He can have peter as his bestie again. They’ll be close brothers again. And peter will stop showing up with bruises. The symbiote promises. 

At this point i think venom would beef with mysterio and be his main villain instead of spidey lol and mysterio’s just out here trying to be a grey villain anti hero thing. Venom also tries to get spidey off the streets. To protect peter. Never mind what peter wants lol

Doc Ock x Symbiote!Reader

→ Author’s Note: Requested this from another writer (that’s also really cool), and decided to also write my own version. No specified version of Ock, pre and post evil versions are mentioned.

The Backstory:

You were a scientist who worked on studying the organic matter samples Colonel Jameson had brought to earth. Unfortunately, one of those samples was capable of a lot more movement than originally believed.

Long story short: Some of it bonded with you, you quit soon after due to not wanting anyone to get suspicious then started working at Oscorp.

Pre Tentacles:

He, and almost every other co-worker, is a little bit curious about the fact that you quit your last job to work at Oscorp but drops the subject after the mention of an NDA (which wasn’t true)

Notices you talking to yourself a lot, but doesn’t question it much. Most of the scientists he works with have an odd habit or two.

You totally slip up and call yourself 'we' in a conversation, which he does bring up

"There's a perfectly reasonable explanation if you give me enough time to think of a lie."

On to the actual dating

You guys keep it on the down low and by that I mean absolutely nobody knows. He likes privacy

His love language is talking about his experiments and asking you about yours (and physical touch but that takes a while)

The symbiote makes the relationship difficult, especially because he doesn't know about it

You don’t ever tell him about the symbiote, the symbiote speaks for itself (literally, and to a disastrous extent)

He takes a while to process it, but once he does he shares his work on his tentacles

He tries not to think of the moral implications of the whole situation because he loves you and knows you wouldn't do harm intentionally (he is wrong)

Post Tentacles:

Ok so in most versions Otto goes missing for a brief time after the accident™

So what happens in this brief time?

Chaos. Pure chaos and fear

Not only are you distraught and angry but your symbiote also formed an emotional attachment

Absolutely no one gets a break. Criminals, civilians, co workers, Norman even Spider-Man

The streets are filled with nothing but fear and it stays like that until you get your Otto back

At which point:

Yay, evil power-couple time!

I mean what did you expect, you��re the host to a symbiote that eats people to survive and likes to commit crimes; there is almost nothing he could do that you either 1) haven’t already done or 2) had to literally fight yourself not to do

He changed after the accident, and it reminds you of when you first bonded with your symbiote. You try and be patient, knowing that he's still the same person, just with a different attitude and outlook on life.

With some communication skills being flexed, the relationship works out well

He also gains a new thing to be mad at the world about (Tabloids keep calling him a monsterfucker and so does your Symbiote)

It's that whole Roger and Jessica Rabbit thing except no one knows who's Roger or Jessica at any given moment.

You keep working at Oscorp to keep suspicions low and provide insider information

Yes, the suit makes you look very good - now do you want to be part of the Insidious Sinister Six or not?

You don’t want to fight Spider-Man head-on most of the time (much to the Symbiote's chagrin) so you agree to work with them, but not be on the team.

Anyway you end up kicking ass and now half the team is scared of you (Much to the Symbiote’s delight) (remember that episode in the 90s show were Venom Spider-Man almost kills Rhino and Shocker? Yeah you do something like that)

His ego may be nearing the size of the sun, but even then he’s slightly scared of what would happen if your symbiote gained full control. (Your symbiote likes him so his nerves are good, but still makes sure nothing happens that affects your memories)

Speaking of which he wants to do some - totally not evil because he loves you- experiments revolving around the Symbiote

Overall, the relationship is wholesome, if not unconventional.

TSSM What if scenario: After Spider-Man defending Green Goblin (Norman Osborn) and Harry distraught and mistakenly assuming it was Spider-Man who killed his father. After Norman's funeral, Harry swears vengeance towards finding the Symbiote and becomes the New “Venom”.

(Ssm man spider scenario) after another “episode” of spider lycanthropy,Eddie takes Peter to a fast food so he could’ve eat,there’s nothing to see here just a kid eating since Eddie is now taking care of peter “spidery problem” and he borrows to peter his clothes since now peter has become taller,larger,with fangs,claws and longer hair and has nothing to wear.Just don’t take his food or you’ll return home without an arm

TSSM seasons 3 & 4 were SOOOOO GOOD!! Love these new characters and new iterations of existing characters from that short arc with alt worlds!! LOVE the new content!!

I remade my tssm oc. Their name is opalite, they are a former scientist who was tasked on studying a crystalline asteroid that landed on earth along with the venom symbiote by oscorp, during their ground studies the asteroid exploded and the shards embedded themselves all over their body, instead of being killed the crystals were absorbed into her blood and dna which gave her the ability to produce and control said crystals at will

Would you guys believe me if I told you that I do have other fave tssm character(s) besides Electro 

(I will forever not be be beyond sad and mad that eddie and the venom symbiote did not get to grow and improve both together and apart and to slowly repair their relationship and previous realationships and realize how special their bond is and for them to become the lethal protector we all know and love and for them to do silly couple things together and be madly in love) (needed to see their complex, tragic, twisted yet beautiful and heartfelt lovestory in tssm so bad)

My tssm opinions/hot takes/ whatever you calls these

 1) despite Liz being my favorite “canon” Love interest, I did not care when they broke up..

(I’m not a big fan of “high school Romance” trope or the “bully character falls in love with the victim after being told to fuck off/was stood up to” trope.

Also I kinda just didn’t like Liz at first (she grew on me late) which is the only reason I don’t want to rewatch the Electro episode again.🫤

Also after Flash broke up with her (after she going for Peter the same KIND of way Peter did to Gwen with her💀) and they were still friends. I would have given it about half a season before she’s trying to at least be friends with Peter again.

2) I didn’t care when Harry manipulated Gwen (not saying it’s right)

A bit hard for me to feel bad when the only reason she dated Harry in the first place was because she couldn’t be with Peter.

She was also kinda hypocritical (especially the “not gonna be your second choice” thing)

I kinda feel like her character became mostly just “love interest” when the love corner (bc that was NOT a goddamn triangle💀) thing started. (Shows falt, not hers)

3) Ock was manipulating Electro (the abused becomes the abuser)

Think it’s pretty clear that Ock mainly kept him because (A) he’s powerful and (B) he’s a walking generator he can use to power his arms and machinery. (That was literally the first thing he does for him in person.

Also he straight up left him to die💀

I wouldn’t be surprised if a later season would have revealed that Ock was activity keeping him from being cured.

4) I don’t think Harry would have become the goblin immediately

I feel like what would start out as mostly internalize resentment for Spider-Man, would develop into pure hatred over the course of season 3. With Harry becoming the Green Goblin in season 4.

Also we were supposed to get hobgoblin in season 3 and I don’t think they would double up on new goblins.

5) between the two of them; the symbiote was the toxic one, not Peter

It latches onto him, doesn’t let go, emotionally manipulates him, physically manipulates him, drives him away from his friends, says that all he needs is them, threatens him. Peter does what he can to get it off of him and he’s the toxic one? Ok.

6) Blackcat made me incredibly uncomfortable.

Especially because the only information I could find on her age said saw was an adult 💀
