The Sims 4 Celebrity/Famous Legacy Challenge!
Ok so this is my first post on a blog dedicated to a new legacy challenge that I came up with and will be playing out here, and I figured I would just explain the rules and post it so that people can follow along and can even play themselves if you’d like!
If anyone decides to play tag it with “Celebrity Legacy Challenge” so I can see & so its not mixed up with normal Legacy challenge posts.
Summary: This challenge centers around a family of famous sims, with each generation experiencing different ups and downs depending on how they chose to live their life in the public eye. Will the magic of fame and fortune make up for the tragedy it brings?
This Challenge deals with more dark themes/ tragic/ dramatic stories than challenges usually do. If that’s not your thing you probably won’t like this. But if you do like high drama then buddy you’re in the right place!
Rules: -This challenge requires the Get Famous expansion.
-CC allowed, cheats only allowed if specified, mods allowed as long as they aren’t there to make the game easier.
-Sims are allowed to move out as Teens if their relationship with their parents turns negative. Otherwise, they may only move out as a Young Adult.
-Every Heir must max their Fame level
-The next generation begins when the next Heir moves out or turns into a Young Adult (whichever happens first).
(Optional) Mods that I use: Subject Homework mod by scarletqueenkat on Mod the Sims
Adult Skills for Children by Peterskywalker! on Mod the Sims
(18+ only) Basemental Drugs/Alcohol mod
(18+ only) Extreme Violence mod by Sacraficial
Starting out: This challenge lasts 7 generations, with one optional generation 0 (if you like playing out the backstory like me). If you want to skip gen 0, go right to Generation 1. Gen 0 centers around the strict farming family that the first famous sim (Heir 1) grows up in. The parents should be Adults. Heir 1 can be created as a Teen, Child, Toddler, or not born yet.
You should chose a lot big enough for the parents to farm. The parents may have any traits you’d like, but I would suggest making them family-oriented but strict sims. Heir 1 can look however you’d like. They should have the self-absorbed trait- all other traits and attributes are up to you. They should have at least 2 siblings. The siblings’ traits are up to you, but remember that they are more similar to their parents than Heir 1 is.
Optional Generation 0: Humble Beginnings
These parents are simple and humble farmers, and they had children hoping those kids would carry on this legacy. However, one of their children is distant, rebellious, and ultimately leaves home to pursue some silly dreams of Hollywood.
Objectives: -Never have a career. Live completely off the land.
-Have a minimum of 3 children
-Have a friendship level of 0 with one child (Heir 1)
Optional Objectives: -Have a negative relationship level with Heir 1
-Max the Gardening skill
-Complete the Nature aspiration
-Have Heir 1 move out as a Teen
Generation 1: The Lucky Young Star
You grew up on your family’s farm, but always dreamed of leaving and making it big in Hollywood. You may have ruined your relationship with your own family, but it’s all for fame. You know it’ll be worth it when you achieve your dreams.
Getting started: This sim should have the Self-Absorbed trait. If you don’t play Gen 0, you must start as a Young Adult. You should move into a city (Either Del Sol Valley or San Myshuno). Their other traits and physical attributes are up to you.
Objectives: -Become a Five Star celebrity before aging up to an adult
-Complete the World-Famous Celebrity aspiration
-Get to Level 10 in either the Acting or Musician careers. You may not have any other career.
-(If you had parents) have a friendship level of 0 with your parents
-If you have a romantic relationship with someone of lower/no fame status, you must break up with them once you become a 3-star celebrity
-You must marry a 4 or 5-star celebrity (you may design/place this person in the world due to the limited number of celebrity NPCs. You may play them for up to 1 Sim day in order to establish their life. You may use cheats to quickly establish their life, but you may not cheat their relationship with your sims or Heir 1, and you may not have them interact with Heir 1 until you are playing as Heir 1 again.)
-You must have at least one child
Optional Objectives:
-Have an infamous affair
-Have a child with your affair
-Get to Level 10 in both the Actor and Musician career.
-(18+, requires basemental mod) Get addicted to drugs or alcohol
-Have a butler or babysitter do every childcare related thing
Generation 2: The Ruthless Celebrity
You felt like you never got anything from your own parents. The only time they ever spoke to you was to remind you the hard way that nothing in life will come easy. Fine, you’ll show them- you will do anything to get to-and stay at-the top.
Objectives: -Become a 5-star Celebrity before aging up to an adult
-Have a Friendship level of 0 with Heir 1
-Complete either of the Wealth aspirations
-Reach level 10 of the Actor, Musician, or Comedian Career before aging up to an adult
-Any interaction with someone of a lower celebrity status must be rude and dismissive
-Make an enemy of at least one sim in your same career
-Only Marry a sim who has a higher fame level than you (Unless you are already 5-Star, in which case only marry another 5-Star celeb). If they ever drop to under your celebrity level, divorce them.
-Through all this, maintain a neutral reputation. Your reputation shouldn’t fall in the red for more than 3 sim days.
-Have at least 1 child
Optional Objectives: -Murder at least one sim in your career (you can use Extreme Violence for this, or just trap them in your house or something)
-Befriend at least one sim in the Criminal career
-On top of only marrying a sim with higher fame, that sim should also have more money than you.
-Have a reputation of at least Good
-Have a negative relationship with your parent
Generation 3: The Notorious Mob boss
The types of people your parents kept around the house weren’t exactly... trustworthy. With a combination of your criminal and Hollywood contacts, you pretty quickly rise to criminal infamy.
Objectives: -Reach level 10 of the Criminal career
-Reach 5-star celebrity status before becoming an Elder
-Have a spouse die of either murder or some sort of “accident” (drowning, fire, electrocution etc)
-Max the Public Enemy aspiration
-Murder 3 people you have declared your enemy
-Have at least 1 child
Optional Objectives:
-Get killed before becoming an elder or die in an “accident”
-Be friends with at least three 4 or 5 star celebrities
-Have a child with someone who is not your spouse
-Have a negative relationship with your parent
Generation 4: The Lover
You grew up under constant surveillance and attention, but with very little love or warmth from your own family. You will spend your life finding dysfunctional relationship after relationship.
Objectives: -Complete the Serial Romantic aspiration
-Become a 5 star celebrity before becoming an Elder
-Get divorced 3+ times
-Cheat on a partner at least once
-Have at least 3 children, but never two with the same person (except twins of course).
Optional Objectives: -Cheat on every single partner you have
-Never get a job. Most money should be made through your spouses
-Have a negative relationship with your parent
-Get addicted to any substance
Generation 5: The sensitive artist
You grew up in a highly dysfunctional home, but found comfort in your art. You will become a celebrity artist.
Objectives: -Join either the Painter, Writer, or Musician career (not the freelance versions)
-Become a 5-star celebrity before becoming an Adult
-Leave your career once you hit level 10 or become a 5-star celebrity. All of your money must still be made through your craft (writing, painting, music) but now you aren't held down by...the man.
-Max out whatever skill is related to your career (painting, piano, guitar, etc)
-Never get married. You can’t be held down.
-Have at least one child. Turns out you can be held down.
Optional Objectives: -Have a negative relationship with your parent
-(18+) Become addicted to a psychedelic drug
-Max out on an artistic skill unrelated to your main career
-Live in an “off the grid” house for at least a week
Generation 6: The Shia Labeouf
You grew up in... extremely unusual circumstances. You were in the spotlight from a young age. You lived with a parent who projected being a free-spirit, but who you knew to be just as fame-hungry as the rest of your family. They say it’s lonely at the top, and you were born there. There’s no where to go but down. Time to go bonkers. Just really McFucking lose it. You will become the most wild and unpredictable celebrity the world has seen.
Objectives: -Become a 5-Star Celebrity before becoming an Elder
-Reach level 4 in at least 5 careers. You may not stay in any career after reaching level 4. It doesn’t matter what careers you chose.
-Have an equal amount of friends and enemies.
-At least once in your life, bring your reputation level from one extreme side to the other (i.e. reach Pristine reputation, then bring it all the way to Atrocious, or vice versa.)
-Move at least twice
-At least 5 times, cause some sort of extreme public scene/scandal. This could be anything from getting in a fight, having a messy divorce in public, living on a public lot for a long period of time for no reason, starting a fire, anything.
-Have at least 1 child
Optional Objectives: -Have a negative relationship with your parents
-(18+) Get addicted to multiple substances at once
-Bring your reputation level back to the first extreme (Meaning if you had a Pristine reputation then brought it down to Atrocious, now bring it back to Pristine)
Generation 7: The normal one
Everyone in your family as far back as you know has lived in the limelight, and it’s ruined all of their lives. You decide to leave fame behind to live a real simple life.
Objectives: -Either become a farmer and live off the land or get a normal job.
-Never have any level of fame. If you hit any level of fame, leave the spotlight behind
-Have at least one child
-Avoid celebrities at all costs
-Avoid having anything other than a neutral or good reputation
-Have at least 1 child
Optional Objectives: -Reach level 10 in your Career
-Have one spouse and 2-3 children (like a real nuclear family lol)
-Have a negative relationship with your parent
-Have a bad relationship with one of your children
The Challenge ends when the final sim ages into an Adult or Elder (depending on how invested you are in playing the most normal family ever). If you would like, you can begin a cycle again with Generation 7 acting as the second cycle’s Generation 0.
I will update this blog with my own play through of this challenge soon!

I made some obnoxious sims to drop in my Darling save, so I can test out Get Famous, We’ll start with ~Travi Rosedadi~
Travi Rosedadi totally real name is your typical young social media influencer, he lives in a mansion in Del Sol Valley with his squad, which he calls “The Rose Bros”
Old people (people over 25) just don’t get him, but the kids love him for some reason. He doesn’t blame them, he loves him too. He’s just here to make sick vids, pull some savage pranks, vlog his every waking moment, and just have a good time, bruh

Okay, so I got to play with the new EP yesterday and so far here’s what I think of it. And before anyone asks, the EP was very kindly given to me by a mutual yesterday, I didn’t win it or somehow find an extra 50 bucks to blow on the EP :) That being said, here’s what I think of Get Famous so far...
I like that fame is not a given and that you can opt out of it completely, which I know I will end up doing in 90 percent of my saves. But the fact that it’s a grind to make and to keep is nice, fame is fleeting and the fact that the EP makes note of that is nice.
The world is terrible, there, I said it. It’s ugly, it’s tiny and it feels less like a proper world and more like a vacation area like Granite Falls. I haven’t been this underwhelmed by a game world since Forgotten Hollow, but at least that was really more of an add-on neighbourhood opposed to a fully fleshed out world. Del Sol Valley sucks, it’s 99 percent unusable set dressing. Which might be a commentary on the fakeness of Hollywood but more likely EA was just lazy af.
♥ Shark pond, need I say more? ♥
The acting career is interesting in the fact that you only actually work every few days, the rest of the time you have to get the skills for roles. The active accept of it is also cute, if not a bit repetitive, much like the other active careers. But at least it takes up less time than the other ones, which I like. I can see myself using it more than the others for this reason alone, but still very rarely. Really, active careers do not interest me. When did Get To Work come out? Two years ago? I’ve only ever gotten to the top of one of the careers, the Doctor one. I’ve yet to finish the Scientist career or the Detective career, just because like I said, those types of careers don’t really fit my play style.
I like that the makeup and costume people can fuck up so badly the day of the shoot, unrealistic, but funny nonetheless.
Welp, that’s all for now I guess. I’ll see about playing with the pack more soon, but really I don’t want to get into the game too much until the aging glitch is fixed and lord knows when that’ll be.

What is your favorite part about Get Famous so far??!!?? :)
Hi love, thank you so much for the question! Honestly? I genuinely really like this pack and pretty much everything about it - making sims famous has always been really fun to me! But let me point out a few things that stand out as being extra lovely:
THIS INTERACTION! I don’t think I will ever get tired of when sims make this face while getting an autograph from a celebrity? It’s so cute dlfgkjlkfdg
Dirk dreamy Dreamer! I don’t know what it is about him but I just adore this townie (or well celeb) so much!! Maybe it’s because he was the first one to be nice to my sim, I don’t know, but I love him!
I’m a CAS lover in general so this outfit (and most of the new CAS stuff) is just everything to me! I’m always excited to have new pieces by EA that I can use as they are or use for frankenmeshing! ;-)
This crazy text message (and many more)! My sim was so (un?)lucky to get the public phone number quirk and it’s quite amusing to see her get random text messages every now and then!
And lastly we have the “join your sims at work” part of the acting career! As with all of the “join at work” jobs, it obviously gets a bit repetitive with time… but I really enjoy seeing what costumes they’ll be put in and what kind of acting they have to do! :-D
If you have any questions about the new pack you can send me an ask right here!

4t3 Get Famous EP - Architectural Accents
Those objects have been converted for a while, but I was caught on my CAS spree (lots of private conversions that I’m a bit afraid to share, even if the original creator is not active anymore. Drop me a message if interested) and I wasn’t on the mood to upload Buy Mode stuff. But here it is, the second to last pack of my TS4GF conversions for the Fanciful theme.
I’m a bit tired now, so I’ll list the items with price, channels, and where to find them, okay?
Balcony: $ 800, Decor > Roof Decor, 3 channels Dormer: $ 800, Decor > Roof Decor, 2 channels Finial: $ 150, Decor > Roof Decor, 1 channel Floor sign: $ 800, Decor > Sculptures, 2 channels Fountain: $ 2500, Decor > Sculptures, 2 channels Fountain (resized, shown on pic): $ 2000, Decor > Sculptures, 2 channels Urn post: $ 800, Decor > Sculptures, 3 channels Wall deco: $ 150, Decor > Roof Decor, 3 channels Wall shell: $ 150, Decor > Roof Decor, 3 channels
The balcony and the wall tiles are shiftable. The finial and the dormer were converted from the TS3WA weather vane, made base game compatible — if it does not work with base game only, please tell me! The fountains have no water jets, since apparently they’re impossible to convert. Creative use of the moveobjects cheat, DebugEnabler / Decorator’s Best Friend mods and the pool jets are welcome :)
One less release on the queue!

This review was made possible by EA Game Changers. Thank you~! ⭐
After being able to play Get Famous for a decent amount of time, I was finally able to sit down & whip up a review! In this review, I’ll be going over pack info, Create-A-Sim, Build & Buy, the world, gameplay & my final thoughts. Enjoy!
The Sims 4 Get Famous (the 6th EP in the series) released worldwide on November 16th, 2018-- retailing for $39.99 USD. In this expansion, your Sim has the ability to become a famous actor or actress, a Simstagram star, popular SimTuber, & more! The EP takes place in the world of Del Sol Valley & offers a ton of new gameplay & content.
Get Famous boasts 350+ new items between CAS & Build and Buy modes. When broken down, you get:
Create-A-Sim Items: 117
Build & Buy Items: 255
To view the entire Create-A-Sim & Build and Buy catalog, click here.
With Get Famous, your CAS options mainly consist of costume attire or “glamorous” ensembles, with separates peppered throughout. There are items available for Toddler-Elder Sims-- YA-Female Sims being the main focus. (Pets do not have any new content, unfortunately.)
Below are a few outfits, separates & hairstyles from the new pack that I genuinely adore. If you couldn’t tell, I really enjoyed the content for Female Sims in particular.
For Females, there’s a balanced mixture of both casual & formal wear-- not to mention the meshes & textures are very well done. Almost all of the items have really solid swatch options & provide a lot of versatility. The separates pair well with content from previous packs (i.e. the sweater dress with leggings & flutter sleeve top & skirt below) & can be worn by multiple shapes & sizes.
It seems as though Male Sims didn’t get nearly as much attention as Female Sims. While the CAS items are well designed & executed, most of the outfits for Male Sims are different takes on items we’ve already seen in the past. (+Most of the swatch options are less than desirable.) The best clothing pieces for Males are the separates, in my opinion. A lot of them could really use some recolors. (Calling all recolorists out there!)
I love all of the costume items we got for both Male & Female Sims, though. They’re all incredibly detailed & offer plenty of neat pieces that can be used for all kinds of CC. I’m pretty sure the historical gameplay Simmers out there are stoked!
When it comes to hairstyles, I’m not horribly impressed overall. But there were a few standouts-- by a very small margin. A majority of the new hairstyles are styles we’ve seen before, both in previous releases & CC edits. (This goes for both Male & Female styles in this pack) Regardless, they were all very well made! These 2 styles for Females are my favorite. Regrettably, I don’t have a favorite Male hair this time around.
In summary, Get Famous offers a lot of strong CAS pieces that are visually interesting & can be used in a variety of ways. Some of the swatches are a bit tacky, but they manage to add a bit of charm to the pack. Lastly, Get Famous has some of the highest quality CAS content we’ve received thus far-- both texture & mesh wise. That being said, I did notice a fair amount of clipping & textural issues with some of the pieces, so that’s a little disappointing. Gripes aside, CAS is fairly solid.
As expected, the Build & Buy content you get with this EP leans heavily towards the gameplay; movie sets, lighting setups, props, etc. If you’re not interested in those sorts of things but you’re a fan of mid-century modern or lavish living, you’re in luck! The selection of mid-mod items create a great sense of “vintage Hollywood”. While on the total opposite side of the spectrum, there are plenty of items made for only the most expensive of tastes; lots of glitz & gold. There’s no in between, really.
I’m, admittedly, not really into either. Even so, the items are all of quality & can be used for a wide range of builds or storytelling (The movie sets in particular). Some of the items are mildly tacky, but they fit well into the whole “I’m super rich & eccentric” theme of Get Famous.
And if you wanted to make some quick & dirty CC separates, the movie sets are ripe for the picking. (Like this Potbelly Stove *cough cough*) The CC making potential of this pack is off the charts! All in all, I like the assortment of objects we were given & can see myself using a lot of them on a regular basis.
Del Sol Valley is the new world that came with Get Famous. The world is modeled after Los Angeles, CA, but unlike LA, Del Sol Valley is very small. There are only 11 lots available to build on & only one of them is empty from the beginning. (Lot sizes listed here)
The map is divided into 4 sections:
Mirage Park
The Pinnacles
Starlight Boulevard
The Studios
Mirage Park houses the most affordable residential lots, while the Pinnacles are the most expensive. Starlight Boulevard consists of places to visit: the Plumbob Pictures Museum, Pectoral Fitness gym, Studio PBP & Orchid A-Go-Go lounges & Ward Park. As an added bonus, if you become famous enough, you’ll have the opportunity to have your own Star on Starlight Boulevard! (Pretty neat, in my opinion) As for the Studio lot, it can only be accessed through the acting career.
Though Del Sol Valley is much more cramped than previous worlds we’ve gotten, it is still well made & accurately depicts a “simified” LA. I tend to get a bit overwhelmed with large maps & can hardly make it to all of the lots anyway, so I actually enjoy this smaller size! Even though most of the map isn’t playable, the Gurus packed the world with all kinds of little details that make Del Sol Valley come to life.
As mentioned before, this EP focuses on the ability to become famous. (Hence the name) I haven’t played through other careers with the fame feature just yet, so I can only speak on the new acting career.
If you want to start acting, your Sim has to choose an agency to work with & go to auditions to land acting gigs. If you manage to boost your skills & mood up to where the gig requires and you ace an audition, only then are you able to access the Studio Lots. (Which is my favorite part!)
The acting career’s gameplay is much like Get to Work’s feature of following your Sim to their job (Accomplishing goals, etc.). While at the studio, you have the option to get to know other actors & your director, practice lines, chow down on complimentary pizza & get your hair and makeup done. When you’re on the job, the studio springs to life & becomes a bustling atmosphere filled with excited chatter. It’s super cool to experience & makes you feel like you’re really there.
The new fame feature is pretty entertaining too! Fame behaves in a few ways: Most importantly, fame is completely optional! You can opt out of the spotlight at any time. But if you’re hungry for the spotlight, there are a few ways to increase your fame. Here’s a list of fame ranks:
Notable Newcomer
Rising Star
B-Lister
Proper Celebrity
Global Superstar
You can increase or decrease your fame level with actions you perform with other Sims, posting to either Simstagram or SimTube, by honing your skills, or by making public appearances-- The choice is yours! As your fame points rise, your fame rank also rises. When you have enough fame points, you can unlock multiple perks that influence the way your Sim acts while famous. Each perk has both positive & negative routes-- adding a lot of depth to your Sim’s career, public image & traits.
After playing for a while & managing to become a Rising Star (by some feat), I thought the fame feature was really well designed & engaging. I’ve had a lot of fun trying out skills I’ve never explored in the past & actually feel like I’m working towards a goal-- the work feels rewarding & pretty challenging! So if you’re expecting to become a star overnight, you’re in for a rude awakening. It takes a lot of patience & commitment-- It’s a breath of fresh air from the franchise & I can’t wait to play with it some more!
For me, Get Famous adds a lot to the Sims 4 franchise in a new & unique way. After playing on-and-off for a couple weeks, I’m pleased to say that I really enjoyed the new expansion & what it had to offer. I honestly haven’t enjoyed playing the game this much in a very long while. Sure, the pack has its faults & short comings in some aspects, but it makes up for a lot of that with fresh, challenging, gameplay & developed immersion. And if the prospect of being famous isn’t your cup of tea, the new Create-A-Sim & Build and Buy items carry the pack, alone. If you’ve been thinking about purchasing the pack & giving it a whirl, I recommend it wholly.

I am highkey disappointed in the new world size. There’s only 11 lots! Willow Creek & Oasis Springs have 21, Newcrest has 15, Brindleton Bay has 16, Windenburg has 28 (dang that’s a lot), & San Myshuno has 17 (lots, not individual apartments). So having only 11 lots is really disappointing😕 you’d think there would be more than just three neighborhoods for an expansion pack world that is based off of LA. don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful for a new world but I was hoping for something big and grand (like ridgeport)
