Riverdale Rim Light GShade Preset

Hi Simmers✨💜 !

It's me again ! I've been working on recreating the ambiance of the Riverdale series lately. I really loved the first 4 seasons then I drop watching because it became too craycray... But as it's the season of the witch I thought of rewatching the show. Nostalgic ? Me ? Naaaaah (wink). I'm very appreciative of lighting and photograpy in general but especially in movies and series, even if the plot is bad, if the photography is great I will definitely watch any show. My recent Twilight Gshade speaks for itself ! Well, enough rambling.

⚠️ I added a version of this preset : RRL.UI !

*This version is more gameplay friendly. I added 2 items that restored the UI back to it's original state (no transparency on the UI). I recommand to have both version in your game so you can switch depending of your usage. For example I use the RRL version for screenshots, the RRL.UI for gameplay. I switch back and forth between the two depending of what I need.

You just need to put this file in your gshade-presets folder

This has not been tested for Reshade

Created for screenshots mostly but tested OK for gameplay

I do not recommand using this shader for CAS or Build & Buy

If you want to add/remove focus use the ADOF shortcut (Shift+A)

Quick example of how only using the ‘bells & whistles’ shaders can transform the game. L = vanilla (with Sunblind by @softerhaze), R = with ReShade.

There’s no colour correction here. I used 2 MXAO shaders, Rim Light, RadiantGI, 7 (yes, seven) bloom shaders (the heavy hitters in these images were BloomingHDR and Arcane Bloom), Levels, and Film Grain (and a sneaky little bit of Cinematic DoF in the background).

I transplant those shaders over to every preset I make because they work no matter what you’re doing with colour. Sometimes I might tweak the bloom shaders if the preset requires it (my Drift preset is an example of this, which relies heavily on very specific bloom settings), but for the most part I just have them each set up to do specific things and toggle the ones I need on and off. At night you can use lots of them all together. During the day you probably don’t want to do that if you value your sight and would likely just stick to one or two.
