hey! i'm opening commissions for writing and editing!

if you don't recognize my URL, i'm driflew and skelew on ao3. my most popular current work is the Lamplight AU on skelew, which is the account i’ve been using the most recently, but i've got quite a few works around. take a look at those links for examples of my work and the tone/content i'm best at!

i've not done this before and am testing it out, so to start i'm only going to have three writing comm slots. if all goes well, i'll probably open them again once i finish, but i don't have a timeframe for how long this will take

i'll also do three editing slots, but those might refresh sooner

💀 price:

writing comms, the rate i'm thinking is 5 cents a word.

(that's $5 for 100 words, $25 for 500 words, and $50 for 1000 words)

editing comms, the rate i'm thinking is $5 for every 1000 words read

💀 what i'll write:

for fandoms, i'm definitely open to write for third life, one piece, and magnus archives. i'd be willing to hear out other fandoms i'm familiar with, like blue exorcist or certain webcomics, but might refuse if i'm not as familiar

for content, you can assume i'm willing to write something similar in content or tone to anything i've already posted. i'll write fluff, angst, character death, and i'd be willing to talk about some amounts of horror / gore, certain romance/ships

if you have questions about specifics about what i'll write, just ask!

poetry, nsfw (i just don't have the skillset for it), super heavy gore, ships i'm not into (as a general rule i'm not interested in incest or adult/minor)

....pretty sure this wont come up but im not writing any academic essays for you people either

Hi! I've never really done this before so apologies if I fumble a bit. I'm Lex (lexbiini on AO3) and I just graduated uni for creative writing. However, entry level employment opportunities in this field are... scarce (both for writing and copy editing). I am doing a ton of unpaid work rn and love every second of it, but unfortunately work experience doesn't really pay the bills by itself.

I'll write most things (fluff, angst, character death, hurt/comfort, AU), but hard don'ts are NSFW, adult/minor or incest ships and excessive gore. I also reserve the right to just say no if a particular commission makes me uncomfortable.

For editing and beta reading:

$2 / page (approx. 400 words counting with Times New Roman 12pt 1.5 space bc yes I am That Guy)

After 2,000 words $1 / page (So $10 for the first 2k and $1/page after that)

For editing and beta reading, fandom is less restrictive. Given, the less I know a fandom, the less characterization/story comments I can provide, but I will basically copy edit anything for spelling, grammar, syntax, story structure and formatting (I have a lot of fiction and nonfiction workshop experience!)

Hi I'm a disabled Jewish lesbian and work has been really unstable lately. Help me buy groceries and get awesome writing in the process. If you can't commission at this time, I'd love a reblog to help this reach a wider audience!

I'll write just about anything: fiction, nonfiction, fanwork, OCs, sfw, nsfw. If I'm not familiar with a character or setting, I'm willing to research on a wiki or read a summary of an OC if you have one. I am willing to write any kink which does not appear on the list of things I will not write. Samples of my (fan)fiction writing are available here or on ao3 (works). Samples of nonfiction writing are available here on my game design blog. My process includes an initial consultation, first draft, and edits, to make sure you're happy with the end result. The final work will be yours to use however you wish (although I would ask you not to post it on AO3 with any mention of it being a paid commission) and I can present it in the form of a PDF, google doc, or .docx file or post it on AO3 or tumblr.

I'm also available to edit your original writing! Again, I'll edit both fiction and nonfiction, and the final product will be yours to do whatever you wish with.

My pricing is as follows:

Drabbles, SFW: $2, +$1 per 100 additional words up to 500 words. Fiction, SFW: $20 per chapter (roughly 1500 to 2500 words). Fiction, NSFW: $30 per chapter (roughly 1500 to 2500 words). Nonfiction: $10 per page (roughly 500 words). Editing: $10/hour.

Hello Writeblrs! Are your stories in need of a little clean-up? Looking for some feedback and clarity? I'm a studying English major currently open to accepting clients with projects in need of editing. Below is listed the specific services I will be offering (and what they mean) along with the pricings.

Proofreading - $12 per 1,000 words

This involves minor mechanical copyedits such as spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.

Copyediting - $15-$25 per 1,000 words

Depending on the project, this can range from style and structure changes to making sure the work is understandable and consistent. This mainly involves sentence and paragraph restructuring so the narrative flows well, all while maintaining your voice as an author.

Substantive Editing - $40-70 per 1,000 words

Depending on your goals and the project's needs, this involves major changes and critiques of the story, including plot, character development, and other story-intensive details

Some Questions You May Have

Are you qualified? - I am, by no means, a professional yet. However, I am currently studying to receive a BA in English for creative writing and have taken editing-specific courses. I promise to provide clear communication, detail-oriented work, and subjective feedback.

Can you read my project first before we talk edits? - Yes. No matter what, I will read over your project first to determine what may be needed. I will give suggestions as to what services should be provided, but that does not mean I will offer feedback unless explicitly asked.

Why are you pricing by word and not by hour? - I like to be thorough in my work, which means it's difficult to gauge how long a specific project may take me. There may be problems I won't know how to solve immediately, or I may want to work more in depth with certain aspects. It would be unfair to offer an estimated price off of time, and then take much longer than expected.

Why these prices? - These are the low ends of prices I found that other editors use. If this doesn't work for you, we can always work something out. We can easily make an arrangement that works for you, though I will require 15% of the final price up front to ensure payment security.

How can I contact you? - You can DM me at first to talk about initial thoughts. When you want to move forward, we'll move to email, where we can talk about setting up a contract involving price and what edits I will and won't make.

Prices are $15 for the beta-reading, and $10 per ten thousand words up to 100,000 words (with some leway).

WRITING AND EDITING COMMISSIONS

As I'm in the need of a bit of money due to vet bills hurting my wallet, I'm offering writing based commissions. This can be fanfiction, original fiction, or even an essay if you're feeling spicy and want me to spout opinions from my mouth-hole through my keyboard. I also offer my services as an editor for small to medium sized projects other people have written.

For Fanfiction: Because these require me to have some level of knowledge of the source material, I'm offering fanfiction at a slightly lower price over all than the other options. I'm willing to write for most ships, even ones I don't like, provided they aren't pro-ship stuff (incest, adult/minor, fetishized abuse, etc).

Starting Price is $10 USD for 5000 words.

From here, it's an additional $2 USD per 1000 words.

In most circumstances, I will not exceed 10000 words.

Limited NSFW is allowed, with the price ranging from $5-10 USD, depending on my comfort level with what is requested.

You are given 2 free revision edits per 5000 words if you are unsatisfied with something.

All revisions after those free revisions incurs a fee, which will range between $1-3 USD, depending on how much needs to be revised.

You do not own the fanfiction in question, and it will be posted to my AO3 and Tumblr (at minimum), which you can link.

If you wish to post it on your own platforms, instead of them being posted on mine, you can pay a $5-10 fee, and I'll consider it a ghost writing project.

For Original Fiction: Most of the above applies to Original Fiction, but the prices are different. This is because I can't read your mind, and unless you give me a clear enough vision of what you want, I'm less likely to satisfy you.

Starting Price is $15 USD for 5000 words.

From here, it's an additional $3 USD per 1000 words.

I will not write anything more than 10000 words for original fiction. This is due to the level of commitment involved.

Limited NSFW is allowed, but will incur a $7-15 fee, depending on my comfort level.

You are given 3 free revision edits per 5000 words if you are unsatisfied with something.

All revisions after that will add a fee of $3-5 USD, depending on how much needs to be revised.

I own the story, and will post to my Tumblr and Wattpad (at minimum), which you can link.

If you'd like to own the original fiction outright, you can triple what you paid to own it. I can still list it in my credits though.

If you want to not have me take any credit at all, it's a flat $100 USD minimum.

For Editing: I will edit any form of writing, but it comes with different pricing.

I have a mandatory cost of $10 USD to start, regardless of what it is, or how long it is.

This mandatory cost is increased to $20 USD if the thing I'm editing is NSFW.

If the work exceeds 5000 words, I will charge an additional $2 USD per 1000 words.

If the word exceeds 10000 words, then I will double that to $4 USD per 1000 words.

I will not exceed 25000 words per job at this time. I just don't have the time for that.

I will require editing credit in the event the thing I'm editing is original fiction that you intend to publish. This does not apply for Fanfiction or Essays.

For Essays: If you're a weirdo, and just want to pay me to write some kind of essay akin to some of the ones I post on here, then you can do that. I charge a base fee of $15 USD, but the price will fluctuate depending on the subject matter. I won't write any essays on anything overtly political. They will be posted onto my Tumblr. I can't guarantee you will agree with the thesis though, so you've been warned if you wanna do this.

Contacting Me: I can be reached via DMs or Asks (I prefer asks before DMs, but whatever works). From there, we can discuss whatever it is you want me to write, as I want to confirm if I'm comfortable with writing whatever it is you want me to.

Additional Terms & Conditions:

ALL SALES ARE FINAL ONCE WORK HAS STARTED UNLESS THE FOLLOWING SITUATION OCCURS: If I am unable to work on the commission for one reason or another, I will then refund you 50% of the money, and give you all things produced for you to do with however you please, without needing to credit me.

In the event that you harass me about a commission, cross boundaries too often in our conversations, or I otherwise deem you to be rude, at my own discretion, I will cancel the commission. You will not be refunded. By paying me, you are agreeing to this condition. I have a life outside of this, and I will not be harassed for it.

Payment will be done over Paypal with an invoice. I will give you 3 days to send payment from when the invoice is sent, unless we've reached an agreement otherwise. Otherwise, I will consider you to be uninterested in proceeding, and will cancel the commission. I do not like having my chain jerked around by people saying they want a commission, only to ghost me.

My writing is NOT to be used for any Web 3.0 or AI Training Data. While I'm sure that many companies will scrape it anyway, I do not work with people who want to put my work into training data.

I will not give you a guaranteed delivery date, but it will usually be within 2 weeks of getting the commission, depending on my schedule.
