MY WEDDING TRAUMA: A SURELY-SIMS x ICE-CREAMFORBREAKFAST COLLABORATION, CONVERTED TO THE SIMS 2 [download - 👰🏽🤵🏽]

are you tired of brides in white dresses and toddlers with perfect pink flower baskets? is cereal packet gameplay just not doing it for you anymore? maybe you'd like your weddings to put the 'strange' in strangetown? search no more, the ingredients for the strangest wedding in sim nation are finally here!

so, since i caught that one virus, i've been playing around a bit more with ts2 cc creation and finally had the time to work on converting a big set again. but then... what to convert? the answer came to me in the links section of a random lookbook... in a sort of fever dream. a set that captures the recent theme on my blog, families, and yet completely destroys it at the same time: my wedding trauma.

everything here is remarkably versatile. i mean, i know for a fact that people aren't just going to use that jumpsuit for a wedding, elvis needs more freedom than that! there are 9 cas items and 6 buy items for a total of 17 items in this set!

the original ts4 collaboration is complete perfection; it has just the sort of trashy, nonsensical vibes that the ts2 wedding department is sorely lacking. my conversion of this isn't perfect, i'm still learning how to do clothing and there are some minor issues mentioned below the cut, but overall i think that it came out pretty good and i hope it invokes some chaos in your game. 💥

Noemi Dailey for @cowplant-pizza‘s Reuben’s bachelor challenge

Being the oldest of four children growing up without a mom, Noemi is very mature and independent for her young age. A farm girl at heart, she’s had some struggles adjusting to the busy city life after she moved out. She’s hard-working and not afraid to get her hands dirty.

Being the only girl with three brothers growing up does make her a bit abrasive in conversation, but she means well.

She’s a cheerful goofball who loves the outdoors.

Her brothers signed her up for the bachelor because they fear she might turn out to be an old spinster.

TS4: high school years

still trying out the high school pack.  Sent Ryou’s daughter off to prom.  It took seven tries.

one of my multiple mods was messing with it to start with.  Every time I’d try to send her to prom the game would end up dropping me off on the world screen instead and wipe everyone’s relationships with each other so no one knew anyone including their own family.  Which made finding a random toddler in your house pretty weird I would imagine.

I did get Jane to the before prom party at once point.  The kids that showed up for it walked inside the Goth mansion and then immediately walked back out and went home.  Which - I don’t blame them.  There was nothing going on at the ‘party’.  No event, not even a radio playing music.  I had Jane take a shower but then I had to reset it when prom didn’t work anyway and we skipped the before ‘parties’ after that.

I messed around a bit more and took out all my mods but the CAS ones.  FINALLY got Jane to prom only to have the entire group of kids stand around for three hours without moving out of their little huddled herd in front of the door.

Ran it AGAIN without changing anything at all and for some reason it worked this time.  Jane FINALLY made it inside the prom building.

Her best friend that she’d invited to prom showed up.  Naked.  They busted some dance moved together.

Then her bff won prom king.  I should point out he doesn’t even go here.  He probably won because Jane voted for him and I’m pretty sure she was the only one that voted.

then the after party went off to the pier.  Except her date didn’t.  So she tried to get silly pictures in the photo booth with the only other girl there she knew but despite sounds to the affirmative, no one actually walked to the booth.  Immediately after that five second conversation, everyone ditched and went home.  So Jane went on the rides alone, ate a slice of pizza in the rain because the bubble tea guy went home as fast as the kids did and then got home about five in the morning.

It was - underwhelming.  At least Sims 3 let the kids have wild parties where someone usually ended up dead while the parents were away on a ‘paid vacation’.   Here the kids don’t even stick around long enough to socialize much less get electrocuted autonomously fixing the broken stereo.  Jane did get the ‘gold’ reward for prom but I had to pump her through the list of requirements for it so fast I didn’t really get time for her to socialize or just have fun and everyone ditched the second the event was over so there was no lingering to stretch it out.

I mean, the idea is there and a lot of the idea seems like it should be fun but between the glitches and the fact every single one of these teenagers immediately bolts for home the second anyone’s back is turned - eh.

I’ve got a  mod that changes the teens heights and its pretty cute that he’s shorter than she is.

Some of my ideas for how worlds could work in TS5

Kind of a lengthy post with pictures so keeping it under the read more :) 

So the basic gist of my idea is basically how the worlds in The Sims 2 worked but a bit updated. I’ve included some images from the TS2 create a neighborhood to help explain my point. 

1. Individual “Worlds”

I don’t know about you guys but I am falling out of love with how you can travel to any world in the Sims 4. It is convenient, but sims being able to travel anywhere in no time flat, celebrities always showing up in the middle of nowhere, the worlds being so small that after two generations I’m out of lots... that kind of stuff. Also just the fact that TS4 is very limited on customizability. The worlds always feel the same. I can’t realistically play a save where sims live in Mt. Komorebi because then I’m locked into only using that world. I would like to go back to the previous sims style of a more closed off worlds, and most importantly, the option to make your own custom ones. 

2. Custom Worlds

I think a mix between TS2 and TS3′s create a World/Neighborhood could work really well. The game could come packaged with some premade empty neighborhood layouts like the ones you see above, but they could also make a tool like TS3′s Create a World where you could make and upload your own layouts. They could even do the thing where most of the custom neighborhood bases are just empty versions of worlds released with the game. 

Also they should definitely include an option for different terrains like ts2 did, although it would be nice to have more varied options. This could help make it easier to create neighborhoods that actually look like they’re somewhere outside of the US, and would just really increase the customizability without having to do too much. 

3. Neighborhood Add-Ons

This is one of the biggest points for me. I always run into the issue in the sims 4 where after a generation or two my world becomes too small. But if you could add on “new areas” to your world, this could help alleviate that problem. Also, I just loved how in the sims 2 you could add new areas that attached to your world for a downtown, or a shopping district, or even universities. 

I also always loved how they came with a premade option for if you just wanted a downtown and you didn’t want to put the work into it, but also the option to make a completely custom one as well. So it really caters to your play style, and how in depth you want to go. 

Also as another note, I feel like individual “areas” in a world could be in a ts3 open world style. I would imagine they would be a bit smaller than a whole ts3 “world”, so hopefully lighter on your computer, but larger than a TS4 “neighborhood” and one where you could go to your next door neighbor’s house without a loading screen. 

4. Townie Sets

This I don’t have an image for, but in TS2 there was a set of townies for each of the ea created worlds, and a separate set that repeated for every custom world. I have never liked the random townie generation in ts4, so I think it would be nice to have maybe a few options of sets of townies (mail delivery people, firefighters, pizza guy, maid, other teens and children at school) and the option to make sets of your own if you want. I think it would be really nice to be able to make your own set so that, for example, you made a world that’s supposed to be a specific country, you could make sure that all of your townies would actually look like people who would live there. No more randomly generated townie mess and you could make a world that feels cohesive. 

5. Miscellaneous 

I think they should really bring back the option to place our own lots. 

And to place scenic objects around. Really anything to add to customizability is A+ in my book. 

6. TLDR? 

I think in the sims 5 we should have a lot of options to customize the places our sims are going to live. I think it would be nice to have the option built into the game that you can create a world basically from scratch (with some options that require less work if you’re not interested), and to build onto it as your sims grow, while keeping areas sectioned off so there can be some openness to the world and less loading screens. Basically, don’t force me to buy a new pack to get a new world because I’m so bored. 

But these are just some shower thoughts I’ve had. I’d like to know what you guys think, what ideas you have, and whatever else this brings to mind. Happy Simming!

Lamar knows how much Franklin is pissed that Pluto isn't considered a planet anymore, so he gets a shirt that says "Pluto Solidarity."

Franklin smiles, and asks him:

GTA V Characters Playing The Sims

Inspired by the post that talked about Tracey playing The Sims while Michael and Amanda argued downstairs.

Michael: Plays with a premade family, and tries to juggle their lives. Attempts to steal other Sims' possessions. Doesn't understand that a Sim's cooking level is based on their experience, so kitchen fires happen a lot and one or more of his Sims dies by fire. Will have to sell a window to be able to afford pizza because that's all his Sims eat and he splurged his Simoleons on something expensive, but useless.

Franklin: LOVES the pet expansion packs and tries to make Chop into a Dog Sim. His Sims reach the top level of their career choices, and spends time making his houses look sleek but lived in. Is disappointed that cars don't exist in The Sims 4, so he prefers The Sims 3. Doesn't play with cheats because he wants to earn money by climbing the ladder. Makes a female Sim that resembles Tanisha and makes his Sim have a romantic and loving relationship with her.

Trevor: Uses the Extreme Violence and Drugs mods for TS4. Tries to kill every Sim that he can and collect gravestones. (Think CallMeKevin from YouTube.) Takes pictures of his slain Sims and puts the photos on his walls as ~art~. He makes Sims look exactly like real life people he knows and lives vicariously through them because he wants his Sims to have good relationships with others. (Is a total reflection of his actual desire to be close to people.) Definitely uses cheats.

Lamar: Bought the base game and all of the packs on Origin for full price unironically. He downloads Chop to play with on TS4 Gallery. His favorite pack is the Get Together one so he can make Sim versions of the Chamberlain Hill, Ballas, and Vagos gangs to fight each other. (Has the Extreme Violence and Drugs mods to enhance the gang activities.) He simps for the female Sims he creates and has his Sim WooHoo with them. Uses cheats for Simoleons really. Makes his Sim super popular and attractive.

Lester: Owns the entirety of The Sims franchise, even the original CD's of the game. Definitely uses mods and is a modder himself with the newer Sims games. Knows the Sims lore pretty extensively and is bit of an elitist about it. Enjoys the challenges where you leave your Sims alone for a period of time to see what happens. He loves the fact that he is in complete control over their lives.

What have I been up to lately?

under cut for those who cares and cause it’s a long post and it contains the sims 1 pics and not a one ts4 pic in sight. you’ve been warned.

The last few days (weeks?) I felt irritated, sad, numb and overworked. Mostly cause of work.

I still feel that way to some extent, but the fact that my two weeks of leave are almost here gives me hope for some much more relaxed days in the near future.

Thus I don't feel like doing what I don't feel like doing 😄 that is: some things I've been tagged at that I've been meaning to do for awhile. I'm sorry! I still greatly appreciate that you tag me and maybe I'll return to them later.

I have a text post about my long-term sims-related plans but it's been sitting in my drafts for a week and I'm still not sure if I want to post it or not. Not sure what stops me either. It's not such a bad post.

Anyway! Back to the topic of this particular post.

Not without difficulty, I dug out the Sims 1 game and, surprisingly, it still works!

And even though it's a remarkable game, it's still utterly outdated (for example, sims have no weekends! they work every single damn day! what a nightmare! 😣). Also it's hard. Especially compared to ts4 (when was the last time you needed friends for promotions huh? I almost forget about this thing 😔).

But! Since it hits me right in my nostalgic kokoro and I decided to play "wherever game takes me” kind of way (and I'm so used to planning almost every single thing for my sims 😪 control freak much huh?), it relaxes me greatly in this stressful time.

Now I can say that I have every single sims game on my PC that were ever released. True fan eh? 😁 It won't be for long though. I plan to upgrade my PC before Cyberpunk 2077 comes out and that means I'm gonna clean up and sort out everything 😔 (I dread of doing that cause I'm a hoarder)

So. What interesting things happened to me there?

I created a family of three. I bought them one of the most expensive houses available and that wasn't the smartest thing on my part. They barely had the money for the essentials and had to survive on burgers and pizza for quite some time. Until eventually they ran out of money:

Later they earned some money by working, so no sim died of hunger on my watch 😎 but they were still barely scraping by.

And then I had an idea...

It backfired.

But with my guidance they survived that too. The repo-man didn't even came for them even though I've been warned about it 🤔

That's the three sims I play with by the way:

I don't have any story for them. I haven't even decided if they're siblings (since they share the same surname) or just roomies (since there is no such thing as siblings here 🤷‍♀). This game doesn't care and I'm not going to either 😄

So, time went by. There were a few questionable calls:

I also tried my hardest to befriend Bella and Mortimer Goths, but they were quite the pricks:

The house and their lives slowly improved thanks in no small part to such calls:

But then I lost track of the money so this happened:

Yeah, I hired a maid – she's not that expensive here actually (§10 an hour!!!). And she helps greatly with removing old newspapers from the yard, I hated manually doing that 😄

As a payment she took the plant you can see on the previous pic (the bigger plant in the living room, on the right). And she was more than welcome! I was tired of watering it anyway 😄 (yes, you have to water home plants here, what a bizarre thing right?)

She even refused to work for my sims for awhile:

...Ouch.

But it's getting too long of a post. So. To be continued... 😉
