an excuse for me to render him, like i need one or something

i made this real quick because i wanted to render him in his fancy, husband-approved party outfit with the event earrings and i needed it to fit his ears so here we are

they are edited/converted(?) to fit @1-800-cuupid's lovely human ears, which are perfect and i love using them on like all my sims :) i thought i'd go ahead and share it in case anyone else shares my very specific earring/ear-related cas preferences

sizing is a little different both due to proper fitting and also because i like chunkier jewelry so you get to suffer with my tastes now

The Sims 2 Inspired UI for The Sims 4

After making my own UI override, I've been itching to look back in time and try to recreate The Sims 2 UI in TS4, and here it is!

I tried to capture the look & feel as best as possible, so I hope you can enjoy this mod and reminisce a bit c:

General Info

UI overhaul in the style of The Sims 2's UI.

Over 500+ additional icons recolored for CAS & BuildBuy!

Sims 2 style cursor recolors.

Most text are kept in their original color, though they might get changed/updated down the line.

To install:

// Main mod

Before installing/updating, remove any old versions of Sims 2 UI whenever there's a new mod update and clear your caches.

Download & extract the zip file within your Mods folder.

Install the latest UI Cheats Extension mod and make sure it loads after the Sims 2 UI mod. Current version needed: v1.45

Main Menu Override - now separated from the main mod.

Loading screen: download only one loading screen file. Available in: 4:3 - 16:9 - 16:10 aspect ratio.

Opening screen: file to replace the intro TS4 screen. Choose the file that pertains to your game language.

Phone icon addons: pick & choose depending on which mod you use.

TS2 Cursor: recolored TS4 cursor to match with TS2's cursor. Unfortunately, some cursors are missing their recolors (rotate cam & grab+arrows in CAS).

EA Notif: optional file if you prefer to keep the notification in its original color scheme.

something cutesy suggested by @grilledcheese-aspiration: @pixelunivairse's sleek n' steel mini fridge recolours converted from ts4 to ts2, plus the discover university fridge they're on itself! this is just the mesh and pixelunivairse's recolours; i decided against converting the maxis ones because they were a bit too generic to me 😅

the fridge is 1246 polys, comes in all 17 swatches, and is functional as, well, a mini fridge! it is animated (with some caveats, see below the cut) and has different morphs for under- and out of-counter placement. perfect for your cutesy sim kitchens!

unfortunately, the glass texture of the inside of the fridge is kinda warped? it looks like that in milkshape too, i really don't know why 🙁 there is also a transparency issue where the top of the door appears transparent, but it shouldn't be too noticeable? i hope...

Undecorated: Simlogical's School Changer as 4t2 Notes Landing / Homeschooling Edit

TS4: Base Game Bus Stop - OVERRIDE

The bus stop that comes with "Lovestruck" is quite nice.

So I decided to override the base game bus top with the one from the Lovestruck expansion.

I's a simple debug item detail, but I think it makes the city prettier :)

*This is how it looks in San Myshuno:

*I made it smaller (horizontally) so that it would take up the same amount of tiles as the base game one. Mesh credits to EA.

*I created "version 1" and "version 2", just in case you a want different one outside Ciudad Enamorada.

DOWNLOAD/ INSTALL:

1- Please choose and download JUST ONE VERSION (1 or 2).  You can only use one override for an item at a time.

2- Download it, extract it and place it on your Mods folder. Do not put it more than 1 folder deep, or it may not work.

Example 1: Mods/Replacements/(your file here) - OK 👍

Laundromat Set 🧺

I've wanted to convert the washer and dryer from The Sims 4: Laundry Day since the pack came out, but all of the washers in The Sims 3 are top-loading, so I couldn't make the project work. That is, until @olomaya released her Combo Washer/Dryer mod. Now both the washer and dryer can be front-loaded!

Olomaya also included a stacked washer and dryer, so I converted and remade the stacked version of the washer and dryer from Laundry Day as well.

The washer, dryer, and stacked set all include a coin slot swatch for extra realism in your laundromats (as seen on the stacked set). You also have the option of frosted or clear glass doors.

You'll need the Combo Washer/Dryer mod for these appliances to work. I also recommend my Dirty Laundry Mod and @echoweaver's Laundromat Fix to enhance laundry/laundromat gameplay 😉

The detergent bottles are from Around The Sims 3 here, the laundromat signs are from wanderingsims here, and the tile flooring is a previous conversion of mine here.

...chairs! Wood recolors of chairs!

I've recolored every dining chair that EA has created in a pack or expansion that:

1) already had wood recolors

2) didn't have wood recolors, but I felt that wood recolors suited them

For the colors: I am using Dynamite, Depth Charge, Shrapnel, Safety Fuse and Time Bomb by @pooklet, and Nesert and Honey by Io aka @serabiet.

Please check out the Add-On's I've recommended! They are meshes made by community members that will use these textures too. Or, they are bits of CC that go along with these nicely!

I also did lots of seat recolors for this, as it was a recolorable subset. 30 colorful ones and then 7 neutral ones that are packaged with the wood recolors.

7 new seat recolors of course; @pforestsims said it was okay for me to use some of the textures they used in their recolors of the same chair - these REALLY helped the seat gain some nice texture and definition.

notes: a chair I never even touched, let alone even thought about recoloring. But! With the shine removed, the clunky TS4-ish wood texture really grew on me.

notes: another chair I didn't regard at all but! It's so cute!

All original textures, and each wood recolor gets a seat recolor. Also removed the shine, which was doing this chair exactly zero favors.

notes: a really great mesh that had wood textures I really hated! So these were made from its sole 'steel' recolor.

And seat recolors. 7 seat recolors.

notes: oh, poor chairdiningmoderate. It's one of the first meshes that the game developers made, and you can tell. 😑

It's got a new wood texture and the shine is removed from the wood and seat...but this is as much definition as you're going to get.
