I posted a few videos of how badly it was going. I originally wanted legs & shoes but had to scrap those so there's no legs/shoes. Also, there's a weird line shadow that kept appearing only when my test sim walked in a very specific direction....I was not able to figure out where that was coming from to fix it. Long story short, this dress is good from the waist up and should probably only be used for storytelling purposes. It was very much beyond my abilities. Polycount is 15k.

part one of a suggestion from guppy over on the simscord! the wedding hijab from ts4's gp11: my wedding stories game pack converted to ts2, with 2 addons! there are 3 variants in total: the original ts4 one, one without the veil, and one with neither the veil nor crown ✨

all 12 recolors of each hijab are binned as hairs, with 3 families each. swatch under the cut! they are smooth-boned, animated, etc., with the highest polycount (the og ts4 version) being a cute 4388 polys!

The other day I was scrolling through Pinterest and found a super cute panda tea set :)

So I thought it would be nice to bring it to The Sims as well ^^

ABOUT THIS DOWNLOAD:

☕ There are two zip files. One with the functional tea set, and the other one with the decorative version.

☕ SUPER IMPORTANT: You need "My Wedding Stories" game pack for the functional tea set to work. The decorative version is base game compatible :)

☕ The decorative version comes with all the items as a separate decorative object :)

RECIPES:

☕ The recipes are the same ones from "My Wedding Stories" game pack.

☕ For each recipe there's a different cup (flavor). Your Sim will also use different tea cans depending on what type of tea they'll steep :)

☕ I don't know if it's some sort of bug from "My Wedding Stories", but when you steep the "Orange Blossom" tea, it doesn't play any animation. So, I fixed it for this panda version ^^

The Sims - wacky humor, creative gameplay

I probably should have done that as bullet points, but oh well. Too hard to add that on a phone after you've written it.

It's also really hard to quantify what makes TS2 so special. I dropped TS the moment TS2 arrived, and never went back. I play TS3 occasionally. I've never played TS4. I think the draw and connection I have with TS2 is the sims themselves. Not having story progression (without a mod) means I play everyone. I'm connected to the whole town. Every birthday. Every new baby. Every wedding. I'm there. I'm living their lives with them, actively. And their personalities are more than you'd think you'd get from the same points style TS has. Between the points, aspirations, and wants/fears, they feel like individuals. They're characters I can connect to, project upon, and care about. It's kept me coming back to TS2 for almost 20 years.

Happy 20th birthday, The Sims 2! When I quit playing, I was in the midst of an Alphabet Legacy. I'd actually made it to the K generation, which isn't too bad! Went through the old screencaps and found some fun moments. I also had several other families in this neighborhood that I played rotationally, so maybe I'll share them some other time. A bit of context on each picture below the cut!

A cat named Piggy. She was royalty and the Sims merely her servants.

Generation 2 heir Amelia trying to bed her teenage girlfriend while her dad's zonked out right next to her.

That wasn't an isolated incident of inappropriateness, by the way. Amelia was a free-spirited woman who liked to feel the breeze on her tits, damn it!

Living in the university dorms was terrifying. You never quite knew who would make it out alive. This poor townie did not!

This fucking dance sphere thing was next level!!!

I was obsessed with Generation 3's Bree. Everything made her angry. Here she is at a wedding giving big "How dare they assume they can be happy" energy.

Cora slept with a lot of different guys. One of them straight up brawled with her when he found out they weren't exclusive.

Darcy "break dancing," aka dislocating her shoulders and possibly breaking her neck.

I bred wolf dogs for multiple centuries and still never managed to turn any of my Sims into a werewolf. How sad is that?

Ant farms! The animations for Sims watching ants were always so cute.

Ahh, dorm life. Still as wild and crazy as ever.

Every toddler in my game went absolutely feral over pet food.

Was anyone else obsessed with the faces Sims made while potty training their kids?

Alien abduction. A classic!

Another Sim I was obsessed with, Jamie! He was the product of abduction, but since his human parent was a spouse and not an heir, he technically wasn't eligible to carry on the legacy. However, he did everything in his power to make himself the center of attention anyway. This is him returning from his own (first) alien abduction on the night of his sister's wedding.

Jamie complaining about how difficult alien pregnancy is to the sister (also pregnant with an actual potential heir) he was always upstaging.

These poor maids were the unsung heroes of my legacy.

Messing around with your girlfriend in a cemetery...

while your ancestors stand by weeping. Sounds about right.

Soccer was a constant obsession of my Sims'. I was so disappointed when TS4's version of soccer turned out to just be glorified kickball.

I had no idea at the time of course, but the last moment of this legacy I ever captured was a Great Christmas Tree Fire, which feels appropriate. It seemed like something was always catching on fire.

What uncommon/common fear do they have? Ed is scared of bugs with wings, I mean..they're pretty unpredictable.

Do they have any pet peeves? Loud.chewing. Yikes!

What are 3 items you can find in their bedroom? His notebook full of random notes he makes throught the day, sleeping pills for his insomnia, and his phone.

What do they notice first in a person? Ed is always looking in people's eyes. Can be kinda awkward sometimes.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how high is their pain tolerance? I would say Ed is pretty good with pain, so about 7!

Do they go into fight or flight mode when under pressure? As he's in the police officer/detective career, he gets confrontational under pressure, no flight for him.

Do they come from a big family/are they a family person? He has one older sister, but he's probably closer with his parents, especially his mom who calls him literally everyday. He's always been a family guy and he's super proud to have one of his own now :')

What animal represents them best? He's a total St. Bernard doggo. Kind and dedicated!

What is a smell that they dislike? He can't stand the hospital/disinfection cleaners smell, it makes him anxious.

Have they broken any bones? Nope!

How would a stranger likely describe them? Handsome cop, duh.

Are they a night owl or a morning bird? Since he's been living with insomnia for a couple years now, he often stays up at night, he kinda got used to it by now.

What is a flavor they hate and a flavor they love? Ed is a big pastry fan, literally any pastry he will devour. He doesn't really like soy based food.

Do they have any hobbies? He's pretty sporty - loves to play basketball, run and swim. Besides that, he likes to journal.

Boom, surprise birthday party! How do they react to surprises? He would obviously be grateful and appreciate the effort, but he's not really big on being the center of attention.

Do they like to wear jewelry? Not anything besides his wedding ring.

Do they have neat or messy handwriting? He has quiteee a messy handwriting.

What are two emotions they feel the most? Calmness and gratitude for sure!

Do they have a favorite fabric? Jo will always thirft the best linen shirts for him, linen all the way.

What kind of accent do they have? He spent his whole life in Newcrest, which in my TS4 realm would be kind of like the New Orleans suburbs (Willow Creek being based on New Orleans) - as his parents were both born and raised in Willow Creek and moved to Newcrest once they got married, the whole family has quite a strong New Orleans accent on them.
