Creator Notes:

Because of the large amount of vegetation, this world's reaches the file size of a medium one. It should still load pretty quick (a new save takes up about 1.5 min for me)

Depending on your computer's capabilities, you may need to be a bit patient with some lots loading meshes and textures since they're so close to one another This applies in particular to the two community lots hosting the rabbithole rugs [(1)Administrative Plaza and (2)Education & Research Plaza)]

Downloading the listed CC is not necessary, the archive already contains the items. Please make sure you won’t end up with duplicates as it may slow down your game.

The archive contains a file with instructions for installation in the correct folders for the .world file.

Contains recolors of the lighthouse, barn, flags, sailboats, vegetation & more.

Contains custom road & terrain textures.

No Library and Art Gallery lots.

I opted to keep the base game lighting since the custom one was turning the edges of the foundations completely black.

I strongly recommend you own all the listed EPs for a smooth and uneventful gameplay.

This world is not and won't be populated.

The edges of the map where it meets the distant terrain are -for lack of a better word- ugly. Please don’t mind that part.

Few residential lots have large backyards in order to be used with Pets. 

I did not place wells on the lots. All of them are off-lot. They can be placed from buy mode, if desired.

All the houses have descriptions. Also some houses have items from WA that can only be bought during trips. Feel free to sell them if you want your sims to travel in order to obtain those items. Some LN celebrity items are also present.

New recolors for Port Valentine. I usually don’t like the diner shell, but for once I can deal with it -> because of this new recolor. It’s a mix between a popular fast food chain and a recently opened local urban food joint.

Don’t know about the theatre though, it doesn’t seem to fit in with the rest of the buildings. I’ll try to find a better option for that one. Oh, and I got rid of those annoying green windows for the business rabbithole, yay! It doesn't look so “retro” anymore.

And some shots with the streets just because.

Told you this spot has a great view of the sunset.

This room looks like a torture chamber...

And the town is creepy at times...

But all is well because kitty wants to go clubbing  😂 😂 😂

Improvements:

- fixed roads underpaint;

- painted some much needed reefs;

- redone the vegetation;

- waves effects all around the island;

- removed the distant terrain;

- recolors of rowboat, sailboat and ST shipwreck (though the last one is barely noticeable, but it’s still a tone or two lower in saturation than the original);

- slightly narrowed the beaches in favor of vegetation and lots;

- added three more roads and more lots;

- polished the look of ports;

Along with the new recolors for Port Valentine come new lots. Bars & lounges, (my colorful) arcade, hangouts, coffeehouse, wedding venue, nectary. I’m almost done with the community lots, except I’m always avoiding starting on the library and art gallery. I mean, do we really need them? Yes, sims roll some wishes to visit these type of lots from time to time, but still... 😑 Uh, I guess with it being a city-themed world it should have these sort of lots...

Sooo...since there’s not that much gameplay at this stage I decided to give makeovers to the service sims around the world. 

This guy down here is the cafe’s barista in my current save and the poor thing was so hungry that he stood in front of the bar -that he should’ve been managing himself- and waited for somebody to serve him. Of course there’s no such thing, so he was blocking my own sim from getting a snack. Had to move him with cheats in buy mode and he eventually did his job, but he was still starving. And protesting. 

So I had my sim buy another snack and leave it on the table. He grabbed the slice of cake right away and proceeded to gulp it down. It was both funny and sad to watch  😲😓😅

Guess I have to place mini-fridges on these type of lots from now on, but there’s a high probability that customers will use them instead of ordering from the coffee bar. Which would suck. Another thing to test, I suppose.

Oh, and here’s another two boys after makeovers. They turned out pretty good, if I may say so myself 😁 Might use them for other projects too.

Creator Notes: 

- Hope you enjoy this world. It’s the one I played the most out of all my worlds and I can say it runs well, loads fast and can support the generational gameplay even if it’s populated to the fullest. Of course, I can’t guarantee it will behave the same on other computers. I do think it will, though ;)

- I strongly recommend you own all the listed EPs for a smooth and uneventful gameplay.

- I decided to upload it without population because I think most prefer an empty world so –yay!!! – that saves me more work. Population is the reason I delayed sharing this world. 

- For a faster and less complicated installation I chose to upload the world file. Edit: I’ve been asked to upload the sims3pack version too so that one’s also available now.

- The surrounding islands are for deco only, so they’re inaccessible.

- One of the previous versions had hidden islands but it crashed my game like crazy so I had to give that up.

- All the houses have descriptions. Some of them are modified versions of a number of houses from Riva and Coconut Palms, because how many houses can you build and decorate without going nuts?!

- As much as I played it (and I mean a lot, a lot, a lot) I haven’t encountered any problems with routing or other bugs. Well, it’s almost flat so there’s not much space for sims to get stuck. They might get stuck in doorways though-classic EA problems, but Nraas solves that fast and efficiently.

- It cute to see the sims windsurfing under the bridges. (it only happened once for me, but I got a kick out of it)

- Of course I forgot to take shots of the diving spots. It’s not the first time and won’t be the last, I can feel it.

I’m building up my virtual muscles with how much I worked these past days on these lots (Now that I think about it my physical muscles need some attention too...)

Before starting on these projects I was so uninspired so I googled other works by our fellow simmers. Was not disappointed. At all. This community is so amazingly creative!!! <3

The black-and-white houseboat is an exclusive lounge and was inspired by this. Gotta tell you, it’s hard to squeeze an entire club into the limited space a houseboat has to offer while trying to keep an interesting structure.

For the fisherman’s boat I used this post as a reference. I feel like I actually copied that build, but it’s so cute I can’t give it up or change it one bit.

I was so tempted to use Luna’s creations for houseboats, but when I saw I had to add another 56.6 Mb of CC to the world for only a build, I gave that thought up.

Lastly, the bistro...There’s a story behind it. When I was a child I used to take short trips outside the city with my family and there was this tower-restaurant in one of those locations. I remember not being able to see the tower from the forest but still trying because I was thinking that if I concentrate enough I’ll be able to spot it. A child’s mind, lol. We’d go up a massive number of steps and have ice cream on the top of the tower while enjoying the 360 degrees view. Here we are -years later- bringing that in The Sims. It’s functionality in the game? I’ll see about that later.

Finished building this cute cafe (its base is the lot from Sakura Michi).

Across the street is the police station, because donuts and police officers work well together. At lest, that’s what American TV shows have taught us ;)

And a stadium because every city needs one.

I’m very interested in finding out how to recolor the flags (but only for this world). I can only find the pole...:(

If someone knows or can point me to some info on the matter, I’d very much appreciate it.

On to building an airport now...and who knows what else...

COCONUT PALMS ISLAND – Version 2 - TS3 custom world - DOWNLOAD (also followers gift)

There are two reasons for what’s going on here:

1) It’s now a week or so after reaching 100 followers and it kinda caught me off-guard so I dedicated all this time to come up with this version as a gift. As a creator with very little previous experience it’s reassuring to know people are interested in what I’m doing here, so thank you! 💖 Your support is an impulse in a direction I’ve never thought I’d take, but I’m enjoying the heck out of it.

2) I’ll say it again, after playing in this world recently I noticed some stuff that annoyed me so I rolled up my sleeves and got to work to correct the issues. There were small aesthetic things, by the way. But since I started working on it, I made more changes. 

You  can see the improvements in this post.

Alongside the visual upgrade of the world, I also added some new lots as specified in this post. 

(…Because my sims were getting bored with only having the beach to go to *shrug*)

This version is a standalone world and won’t conflict with the original version. You can have them both installed at the same time. You’ll recognize the new version by the “V2″ added at the end of the name.
