And after a whirlwind romance and proposal which I somehow managed to forget to take screenshots of, Hürrem and James were married in the spring (?) of 186x. They have genuine chemistry with one another and James’ fortune (well, in comparison with everyone else in the homestead, given the fact that his father had done rather well for himself with his business back east) makes him a great catch.
Caroline, despite her continued feelings for Hürrem, seems to be really happy for the newlyweds!

One of the things I really like about the Homestead Challenge is the rules about how the homesteads/architecture of each lot should be made of the same materials and look similar to each other. Partly because it makes sense--you ain't getting regular shipments of intricately-etched Victorian marble cornices to Kainai, Montana--and partly because one of the things that often keeps me from expanding my hoods is building fatigue. I have to be in the right mood to build and while I've certainly impressed myself before, I also have way less free time than I used to and it's nice to be able to overthink less.
Plus, I've inadvertently created an architectural style in Kainai that revolves entirely around that Swiss Winter siding by Lady Lama and I regret nothing.

Medieval Church (Wedding Venue)
Hi all! I think this will be the first of a series of medieval builds I'll post, since I'm having fun actually playing the game for the first time in years now that I'm doing the Ultimate Decades Challenge by Morbid (you can find it here if you're interested).
This is a simple wedding venue with nothing fancy about it, fit for simple weddings under the eye of...the Watcher. The altar is a wedding arch, and if you have Wedding Stories you can walk down the aisle.
It's medieval themed BUT it fits perfectly in modern days too, here in Windemburg but even in Henford of Bagley! Just delete the decorative well and the cart and you're good to go.
I placed it in the Olde Platz in Windemburg, on the left, but you can place it in any of those three lots at your preference. If you're interested and want to play medieval, I suggest to dowload the Medieval Windemburg by TheSenseMedieval
Enjoy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------CC LIST Felixandre: October 2017 - January 2018 - Chateau 01 - Chateau 02 - Gothic Revival Exterior - Gothic Revival Interior Lili's Palace: Folklore: Homestead (you only need the cart but I suggest the whole set anyway cause it's gorgeous)
Ingeli: TSM Peteran Statue Fountain - TSM Rustic Bath (you only need the toilet but again, I suggest the whole set) TheJim07: Jacoban Altar & Candle - Lady Ravendancer Goth's Book o' Spells - Three Candelabra from TS3 - Medieval Set from TS2 ZxTa: Jacoban 2.0 - Peteran 2.0 - Jacoban Build Set 02 (You only need the round windows) - Jacoban Build Set - Statue Set
My CC are included. Credits: @felixandresims @lilis-palace @simverses @thejim07 @zx-ta
DOWNLOAD on Patreon (Early Access) public release on November 10

Still with the host household, the second settlement shows up. Two men, distantly related. Erza Webb and Shiloh Webb. They are nothing alike.

Welcome to VIVARIUM (v1.0)
After weeks of hard work, it's finally ready.
VIVARIUM V1.0 - Official Release
Vivarium is my first attempt at sharing my weird stuff with the world, in the shape of an inhabited custom neighborhood for TS2.
It's inspiration comes from the movie of the same name, "Vivarium", as well as the popular TS4 100 Baby Challenge.
It was also born from my annoyance with Family Aspiration sims and their constant wants for MORE children. So, I did what any sane person would do, and pitted them against their own nature.
Essentially, the matriarch, Ms. Violet, plays the role of Birth Mother to an entire town of male baby daddies, except there's a twist! One of the baby daddies has alien ancestry. The player successfully wins the challenge if:
They reach the 100 baby mark, using whatever means necessary (except adoption, of course)
They have an alien baby and therefore find out who the alien baby daddy is.
It is meant to be played like it's TS4 counterpart, with minimal tweaks to the rules. Kinda like, 100 Baby Challenge meets a Find The Alien in Disguise Challenge. The baby mama is also not allowed to have any sort of income, asides from child support! 🥵
Includes:
50 lots that look exactly the same, for insanity purposes. All baby daddies have the privilege of owning one, as Mr. Jack here is keen to demonstrate.
One very neat birthing station mommy homestead home for Mrs. Violet.
Including a real neat tree house in the back for your kids! Clearly, the children aren't the prisoners of this hellish experiment.
There are a total of 50 baby daddies in this challenge, 37 of which are normal sims, 3 are warlocks, 3 are werewolves, 3 are plantsims and 3 are vampires. It's up to you now to find out who the alien is!
Rules of the Challenge:
Please refer to the spreadsheet!
Mods & CC:
There are a number of Necessary Mods for this neighborhood to work. You will run into errors if you don't have these in your downloads folder. These are:
Custom Skintone Selector - You just have to keep this in your Downloads folder. It keeps the alien in his disguise.
No Sim Loaded
Smarter EP Check
Anti Redundancy
No Stray Respawn
No Townie Regen (search for "notownieregen.zip" to find it in the list)
The Necessary Mods in order for the challenge to be played, unless you want to play the challenge your own way! These are:
Child Support Controller v3.A - So that your birth mother can have a source of income while popping out all those babies
TeenStar PC / PC Omega 3000 - A PC that allows teens to move out on their own
Last Name Chooser (Baby) - So that you can choose the children's last name to be their father's. Note: Last Name Chooser seems to conflict with two Mods by TwoJeffs: "No Smart Milk Drag" & "Same Sex Marriage"
The following mods are Optional / Recommended, as well as some buy-mode cc included in the lots.
Hereditary Supernaturalism
Autonomous Casual Romance / ACR
More Realistic Genetics
Lot Imposter Lights
Thirstiest Bath Mats + Recolors
Maxis Match Wall Cabinets
I've also taken the liberty of including a spreadsheet for easy note-keeping.
Without further ado, happy birthing!
SPREADSHEET & DOWNLOAD
Please feel free to approach me regarding any issues you may find, here on tumblr or through discord @ yanna.psd
And keep me posted on the happenings of your save file!
Have fun, and enjoy.

3, 15, and 18 for the historical ask game?
3. What is your favorite decade/era to play?
Already answered here for @jenplayssims. But, I guess that's my favourite historically accurate era to play that I've actually been able to recreate in-game.
I do love all era's pre-Victorian England. I'd love a Tudor game, but it's so hard to get decent male clothing. I'm toying with the idea of @princesspiratecat's Homestead Challenge set at the beginning of Australian Colonisation, but lack a lot of the CC to make it true to history. One era that I will bring to life is 1300's England, inspired by this picture of a model of 1300's Birmingham.
I am planning on transferring my Elder Scrolls mega-hood onto a mini PC with Linux as the OS, but still want a playable game on my laptop. I can scale back on my CC a bit and really bring this little town to life, with an integrated economy using the S&M items. In fact, I'm planning on populating it with the Sims available for download on your Tumblr, with Henry VIII and one of his wives being the noble family (Henry will be referred to as the Boar of Bramblingham). I can't wait!
15. Do you build/expand houses as you play or use cheats to purchase?
I build/expand houses as I play. All initial houses are generally built to MCC specifications, although I do include enough beds for all family members. I do plan to have some 'starter' lots that are social class specific for the extra children to move into, but Peasants will then become indentured to the local Lord and move down into the 'Serf' social class, while Yeomen/Merchant and Gentry children will probably need to take out a bank loan, unless their parents are wealthy. Nobles will generally be wealthy enough to provide small estates for their 'spares'. These lots will be cheap and sparsely furnished, but available to upgrade as the owners earn more money.
18. What do you struggle with most in historical gameplay?
Probably the sheer amount of CC I have currently (20GB) and the constant crashes and pink flashing on my brand new and very competent Win10 gaming laptop. Theoretically, TS2 should run like melted butter, but as we know, TS2 and Win10 are not the best of friends!

Decades Challenge: 1890s
I started the Decades Challenge. I did a similar thing on my own for funskis back in the TS2 days, so it’s been awhile. I found someone’s rules for it that I’m mostly going to follow, but you know, use my own discretion.
I just downloaded a bunch of clothing because I’m struggling to outfit my 1890s family, especially so they don’t all have to wear the exact same thing.
My legacy is starting out with this simple homestead. I decided my starting Sims are semi-rural, but not super poor or anything. They’re doing fine selling their produce, woodwork, and collectibles Dad comes across when he walks down the path to go fishing.
Here are the rules I found for the 1890s:
May only marry within their ethnicity
May only marry and have a relationship with opposite gender
Outside toilets
No electricity (Lighting is a problem here, use candles or lanterns)
Must always ‘try for a baby’ no just woohooing
Girls born may only have the creativity bonus
Women take care of the children and tidy the house, may help garden
Female children may only move out once married.
Male heirs only, if there are no boys, a married girl's husband may inherit
Wooden furniture only (No upholstered beds only quilts and blankets)
Old fashioned stove and fridge (I downloaded a pantry item to help with the aesthetics)
No showers only bathtubs
No jobs, money made through gardening, painting or woodworking
Wooden walls and floors
House must only be decorated with impressionist or classic paintings
(Must have a cow plant ready for the 1910’s so start now)
https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/816128/decades-challenge
And here is my starting family and their home.
This is Merrill and Dell in front of their newly build wooden home in Willow Creek.
Dell spends a lot of time in the kitchen. She always makes sure there is a baked treat on the table if anyone needs a snack between meals.
They have 3 or 4 kids now and so Dell spends a lot of time washing laundry too.
Merrill spends his days gardening, woodworking, or fishing, but in the evening he likes to play with the kids, read, or write at the parlor desk.
See, they have a parlor. Ooh ahh.
I know they didn’t have sprinklers in the 1890s. Pretend it’s a tub of stream water.
The outhouse and scrap wood area.
Up by the house is Dell’s flower garden and herb garden. The main one is full and there’s a nice little orchard over in the side yard now too.
One of their girls decided the orchard was a good napping spot.
Wood shed.
This is Dell hugging their son, Maynard, after a nightmare. They had two girls first, Bee and Jo, who are aged up to children now. Then they just had a fourth kid, another girl named Finch. I’m sticking with the one-syllable girl names and two-syllable M boy names.
Rather than move to the 1900s as the next generation grows up, I’ve decided to move to the next decade whenever the young adults age up to adults. Because 10 years does not a generation make.

I have decided some rules for my ts2 medieval hood playthrough:
Peasants can only marry other peasants or very low wealth merchants.
Merchants may marry other merchants and if they have enough wealth to their name they can also marry Nobles...though that is a rare occurrence and the head of the family must give his approval...usually a dowry will be requested in exchange for marriage..
Nobles marry Nobles. They may also marry into the Royal family if the King approves. A high dowry also helps in this scenerio.
A Royal will usually marry a royal from another kingdom given that an agreement can be met with said kingdom (In this case I will go to create a sim and do some randomizing and dice rolling) As I said a minute ago a Noble may also marry into the family if a high enough dowry is given.
Marrying for love alone isn’t really an option for most.
ACR is turned on with risk or pregnancy with just woo hooing. Peasants can not cancel out pregnancy.
Only males may inherit a family’s homestead...sexist I know dang medieval period isn’t always fair...if no males are born to a family then the homestead is sold off.
Peasants may only make their income off the land (livestock, crops or crafting). If a peasant remains unmarried and is heading for spinsterhood they may acquire work as a servant in the palace or with a higher ranking family (move in with a family and be put to work raising children or taking care of chores for the family)
Merchants own home businesses.
Nobles may have a career as well as making money crafting.
Royals of course don’t work. They will be paid (moneycheats) by their subjects via taxes.
Families will be played seven days before moving on to a new family, making rounds basically.
I’m sure I will come up with more rules as I go on. Some of these are rules I’ve picked up from other peoples sims challenges.
