After Naruto has left with Jiraiya and Sakura asked Tsunade to train her, Kakashi decides he can't let Sasuke stuck on his power level (the poor boy is getting insecure and scared (Itachi, we know you did it with the best intention, but you fucked Sasuke up) and he is so desesperate to be strong enough to not die and be tortured again).
Kakashi : Sasuke, pack your things, we are leaving Konoha for a time. We will travel around the ninja world, where we both will train our sharingan copying any ninja we find, create new tehcniques (and find out things of the shinobi world that will help us to understand that the syatem is not perfect, need to be fixed and by doing that heal our trauma). The Akatsuki are coming and we won't be left behind by Naruto and Sakura.
Also, imagine that if they had a chidori/raikiri in which the lightening connects their hands, making the attack not only longer, but more intense with the chakra of 2 people making friction. This cuts anything, they even cut through a complete bouilding (an Orochimaru lair they found), being on opposite sides of it, as their chakra reach for the one of other (Sasuke was like "WTF I didn't think it would work!!")
Kakashi does actually have an attack like this ( couldn't find this gif on Tumblr so i got it from HERE ) It's called the Lightning transmitter and does exactly what you describe. Kakashi performs it with a shadow clone to connect the chidori.
Now imagine that with Kakashi and Sasuke, and maybe even one shadow clone each. The length of the attack would be incredible with four connecting points, and they could create a field that enemies couldn't get out of, destroying buildings and armies.

Orochimaru would be pissed because Kakashi's training Sasuke up perfectly without having to use experiments and 'cheats' to grant him more power. It would all be from hard work.
I don't know if Kakashi would be able to just leave the village like that because of the lack of Shinobi and the amount of missions Tsunade sends him on during that time skip, but imagine him and Sasuke doing all of those missions together and training along the way. getting missions via birds from Tsunade while they're in the middle of training and having her save up the money for them when they get back.
And Kakashi, who knows a lot of the ways that the SHinobi system is broken, learning to be angry finally and to actually try and do something about it. The man who has been so broken he didn't think he could change the system, seeing that hatred and anger inside of Sasuke and knowing that he has to. That it might have been a system he could accept for himself because he doesn't value his life and hasn't for years, but he values Sasuke and the rest of Team seven. He needs to make a better future for them and anyone who comes after them. A future that doesn't include the wars that him and his classmates had to suffer through. The death and loss that he dealt with growing up.
Sasuke being the one to help Kakashi find that spark inside of him to stand up to the system and make a change, because he see's first hand how it has affected Sasuke and he can't stand back and let that happen to his pups or anyone else anymore.

Mage Class
So, if you are familiar with videogames involving magic, they tend to go with the mana/mp syatem, as opposed to the spell slots of D&D. So I thought, could we implement that into D&D? This is my first (very incomplete) homebrew. I would very much welcome feedback and assisstance if you're so inclined.
Hit Points: D6 per level
Spellcasting ability: Intelligence
Class features:
Instead of manipulating the weave, mages must draw magical energy into themselves. At first through fifth level, your mana is your mage level + your spellcasting modifier (minimum 1). At 6th level, it becomes mage level + 2×your spellcasting modifier. This multiplier changes again at level 14, to 3×your spell casting modifier. During a short rest, you may expend up to as many hit die as you have to regain mana equal to the rolled amount. At the end of a long rest, you gain all expended mana and hit die.
Mages may cast any arcane spell, so long as they have learned it, copied it into their spellbook, and have the mana for it. Each spell has a range of two mana. First level spells cost 1 or 2 mana, second costing 3 or 4, and so on. If you cast with the lesser of the two, i.e. expending 5 mana for a 3rd level spell, you may choose either for the effecr to be halved(such as damage, healing, or duration) or to have disadvantage on all rolls including the spell, while those affected get advantage. For example, if you use 5 mana to cast fireball. You can choose to either reduce the damage to 4d6 or allow those affected by the fireball advantage on their saving throw
Starting at the 3rd level, you can use mana to improve your skills. By expending 3 mana, you can add a d4 to any skill check or saving throw, but you must do so before rolling the d20. At 7th level, you may expend 5 mana for a d6, and at the 11th level you may expend 7 mana for a d8. You may only use this ability once per rest, and can only expend mana for one die.
Starting at the 8th level, you learn that there are faster ways to pay the price for magic. You may sacrifice some health to regain half as much mana. You may also spend some mana to heal half as much. (If you sacrifice 20 health, you gain 10 mana. If you spend 10 mana on health, you get 5 health.) Each of these takes one action, and you can reduce yourself to 0 health or mana in this way.
At 13th level, you begin glimpsing the true nature of the weave. Once per long rest, when you are targeted by damaging arcane magic, you may attempt to absorb some of the magical force. Both you and the spell's caster roll a d20, adding your spellcasting modifiers. If you beat their roll, you absorb half the mana you would need to cast the spell, and take half the damage. This replaces a saving throw if one is called for. (For example, if you are in range of a 3rd level fireball, you can try to absorb some of the magic. If you succeed, you gain 3 mana and the opponent spellcaster rolls 4d6 damage for the fireball)
At the 18th level, you begin memorizing spells. You can choose one level 5 spell or lower, and cast it once per long rest without expending mana. You may choose a new spell after each long rest. Furthermore, you do not incur the penalty for casting spells at the lower mana cost for spells level 3 and and below.
Skill increase occurs at levels 4, 8, 12, and 16.
You have proficiency with simple weapons, daggers, and quarterstaffs. Choose two skills from Arcana, History, Insight, Perception, and Persuasion. Your saving throws are intelligence and wisdom.
I know it's very incomplete, and probably very poorly balanced, as I just whipped ir up, but what do you think of it so far? Would anyone be interested in maybe adding on to it, tweaking it or playtesting it?
