(copied from @dxckiii on Twitter) this could literally change everything.
They have begun a recount process. WAKE UP YOUR NEVADA FRIENDS AND MAKE SURE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM CHECK iwillvote.com to make sure their ballot was counted. if it says it was denied, they need to call immediately.
Don't scroll past this. If there's any chance someone from Nevada is following you, they need to see it. Get this as far as possible. Be loud. I know it's easy to feel hopeless right now; god knows I was crying my eyes out for a good chunk of last night, but if there's even a shred of action we can take, we can't let it slip by.
If you know anyone in Nevada, please share this with them. Reblog it. Spread it far and wide, ASAP.

JD Vance literally contributed to Project 2025. How the fuck can he talk about how "freedom of speech" is so sacred when he clearly supports a document that would ban "pornographic speech" or, as the document defines it, gay people.

"In the lawsuit filed in Hennepin County District Court in Minneapolis on Monday, the DHL eCommerce unit alleges that MyPillow is in violation of a contract that requires the Minnesota-based company to pay for all parcel delivery services within 15 days of being billed. The lawsuit says they reached a settlement in May 2023 that required MyPillow to pay $775,000 in 24 monthly installments starting in April of this year.
But the lawsuit alleges that MyPillow has made only partial payments on that settlement, totaling $64,583.34, with the last one received on June 6. DHL says it notified MyPillow that it was in default on July 2. The lawsuit seeks $799,925.59, plus interest and attorney fees."

I can't imagine being anywhere near as insane as Trump supporters because my dad told me that he, earlier, drove past a guy putting a "Harris Walz 2024" sign outside his house and decided to yell out at him "TRUMP 2024 YOU COCKSUCKER" and flip him off. And he laughed when he told me because he thinks that yelling at a man (emphasized man because he thinks men should be "better" than women, and "better" would be voting for Trump in this case) who is voting for a "whore who slept her way to the top" (his exact words) is funny. And expected me to laugh with him. And got angry when I didn't and just stared at him in disbelief. Even though he already knows that I don't like Donald Trump. These people fully expect others to find their weird ass derogatory words and behavior FUNNY. Donald Trump is leading a cult of old people who he brainwashed into being delusional with him.

The lack of knowledge Americans have about their own politics is STAGGERING. There's no way a felon, rapist and racist piece of shit actually won. Are Americans just brain dead? People will die because of this choice and y'all care about cheaper groceries (which was Obama's economy fyi). Disgusting.

For the third-party voters arguing that they're pulling for a better candidate with a genuine chance of winning and not splitting the vote--okay. Let's suspend reality pretend that's true. In that case, please answer the following for me:
Why haven't I heard of your third-party candidate before now if they have such a good platform and they're clearly the better alternative? How good of a candidate can they be if they have no public support outside of your very vehement niche on tumblr and apparently no real skill at/infrastructure for getting their message out?
"Well, because they're a small campaign! They're not corporate shills! They aren't taking Dark Money!" Mkay, so are they taking in any money? If they don't have the finances to support their message, let alone their campaign, that doesn't exactly point to the kind of interest that substantiates your claim that they have A Real Chance, Guys, I Swear of winning the election.
For that matter, Insistent That You're Not Splitting The Vote blog, why is it that there is absolutely nothing on said blog about your candidate prior to this spring? Yeah, that's the time frame of most states' primaries, but like...you'd think that since [candidate] is your ideal political blorbo, you would have been boosting their message before then--you know, to support them and get people to vote for them in the primaries. Kinda weird that you weren't enthusiastic about them any earlier than 5 months before the election. Kinda convenient that you're insistent that this, Year Of The Most Fraught And Partisan Election Part 3: Fascism Boogaloo, is the year a third-party candidate totally has a chance.
On the heels of that, what have you been doing to work toward a future where a third-party candidate actually has a real chance? Because there's a whole lot of nothing on your blog about anything helpfully actionable, like how people can work to get ranked-choice voting on their state's ballot. Instead, your blog is mostly just how important it is to "show the Dems people are tired of choosing between two bad candidates by taking your ball and going home instead."
Does your candidate have any political support on the local, regional, or federal level from either party or independents? Because executive orders aside, they aren't getting shit done in their presidency if they don't have any political allies or a party allegiance to draw on.
For that matter, what has your candidate accomplished politically thus far? What can they point to as proof that they could be a successful president?
And the real question it all boils down to: do you really, full honesty, no bullshit believe your candidate can beat Trump?
"Well, if people just--" Nope. No "well, if these 18 extremely fortuitous and equally unlikely things happen" wish-fulfillment scenarios. As things stand right now, in the real world, can your candidate get the necessary votes? Do they have the kind of appeal that can get even lifelong Republicans to endorse them and the track record to back up their campaign promises? Do 270 Electoral College votes' worth of Americans know them and support their policies?
Because unless you're lying to yourself, I'm willing to bet the answer is no. And yeah, this applies to all of the third-party candidates. Look at this piece from Politico: https://www.politico.com/interactives/2024/where-are-third-party-candidates-ballots/ You'll notice that not one of them has managed to get on the ballot for every single state. Please make the extremely obvious conclusions about their chances.
('But calliope, there's another third-party candidate that isn't on there.' Yes, I'm aware. Politico is no doubt aware too. For some wacky reason they decided not to include the Unicorn Party on their list, idk.)
"I'm still not going to support a genocide--" Even if you don't "support a genocide" by voting, I'm sorry to inform you that you are green-lighting a genocide by not acting to prevent a second Trump presidency. Because the reality is that either Kamala or Trump will be winning the election, regardless of what you'd like to believe. If Kamala doesn't win, we get Trump--the guy who wants Netanyahu to "turn Gaza into a parking lot" and wants internment camps in the U.S. for immigrants. You don't want to support a genocide, so instead you're splitting the vote or talking people out of voting so that we end up with both a genocide abroad and one right here at home. Because if you don't think Trump will take the Supreme Court-ordained right to commit any crime he'd like and, backed by the Heritage Foundation, go after immigrants and the LGBT+ community--like he's explicitly said he'll do all throughout the Project 2025 manifesto--then you haven't been paying attention to anything in the last 8 years.
We can't afford a close election like 2020. The right has been tossing around the phrase "civil war" for the last couple years and is just waiting for an excuse. Unless they lose by an undeniable margin, it'll be "stop the steal" and fascist gun nuts storming state buildings and harassing governors and secretaries of state at their homes all over again. And to make sure that we have the margin we need to make it clear Trump has lost, splitting the vote cannot happen.
It's awesome that you're invested in the idea of eliminating the two-party system, because yeah, it's fucked. No arguments here. The two-party system, the Electoral College, the lack of automatic voter registration, the lack of ranked-choice voting...a lot of things are fucked about the U.S. electoral system. But we will be able to change approximately none of them under a Trump presidency, and no one has any chance of beating him in November other than Kamala Harris.
And full offense, but if you're still trying to insist otherwise, I'm genuinely unable to assume you are anything other than stubbornly naive at best and a bad faith actor/psyop at worst.
#if this seems salty toward a certain candidate it's not#all salt is directed solely at people deadset on the narrative#that if you're not voting third-party ''when there's a Truly Progressive candidate with a Real Chance For Realsies''#then you are either a. a coward; b. a huge fan of genocide; or c. stupidly naive to think kamala can be pushed further left#(please sigh with me at the irony of a 'my third-party candidate can totally beat trump' crusader calling anyone naive)#anyway /rant#if you come into the notes to try and be a shithead please be aware that i love blocking idiots ✌️#(wildly unlikely it'll even be an issue as no one outside of my moots and like 2 dozen very patient followers know i exist)#(so i'm mostly doing the online equivalent of angrily yelling out of my window with only four people in earshot lmao)#us politics#long post

not even saying this in an individuality complex sort of way but mainstream culture in the US is so poison right now. pop culture has been shoving hyperfemininity down everyone's throats for a year or so which i'm finding more and more alienating as a woman who has decided i don't want to actively perform femininity most of the time. the political climate is increasingly dysfunctional. the leading presidential candidate has a laundry list of positions and statements that should have made him unelectable in the eyes of voters, yet an enormous chunk of the electorate doesn't seem to mind. meanwhile, for the first time in history, a woc has a real shot at winning the presidency, and her supporters and campaign team have memeified her and turned her into a caricature. even the people on her side don't seem to take her seriously as a politician, which is disheartening to me as a woc myself. people are polarized. the middle class is shrinking. fast fashion is ubiquitous. every single book and youtube video seems to be about productivity and self improvement, which are valuable pursuits, but entertainment media feels completely oversaturated with content from the self-help genre. the death of third spaces. the manosphere and the popularity of misogynistic male podcasters. the death of subcultures, and the resulting tendency for young people to seek community by defining themselves with identity stereotypes. and it's hard not to notice how advertising is getting more invasive on every social media platform. and how a lot of our celebrities have a similar look, establishing features that are uncommon without cosmetic procedures as the beauty standard. i feel like i'm swimming against the tide just by existing as myself and not subscribing to the parts of the political and social climate that i don't fw. it's exhausting.

Hey you.
Are you also upset and angry about the election? Are you concerned about the likely election tampering and collusion that won* Trump this election?
EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN who voted blue in this election needs to do this. Don't lie down and let fascism take hold of this nation even more than it already has.
Call (202) 456-1111 Tuesday—Thursday 11:00AM—3:00PM and demand an investigation.
Check the status of your ballot at vote.org. Report any issues to the DOJ voter fraud hotline: 1-800-253-3931 for those whose ballot isn’t being counted.
Here are some state-specific hotlines as well:
Here is an in-depth guide to effectively contact your representatives (lik is different from pictures below).
Here is the submission form to submit concerns the the White House as well as instructions and sample text ideas below (not pasting the actual text as incentive for people to write their own—if you submit a message or multiple messages, make sure there are differences so that nothing gets flagged as spam).
I'm not advocating for her as some kind of savior; she's a politician, but I also would urge you to consider donating to the Harris-Walz campaign fund which has been updated to include a ballot recount in its terms
There was a longer bit here but I didn't like how it sounded lol. Basically consider it if you want—but contacting reps is more important in this case.
I'm not saying all this to be a shill for a politician who's still a basically-centrist politician at the end of the day. I'm doing this because I'm pissed off and desperate to not see my home become a totalitarian dystopia.
I know that as more time passes, it can feel hopeless to fight. It isn't. January 20th is still months away, but each state has a deadline for vote finalization. If there's a snowball's chance in hell to change anything, we can't let it slip through our fingers.
This is not the time to submit to apathy. The bystander effect is how a movement dies, and when affirmative action has to be done remotely like with contacting reps, it's an even bigger factor.
Don't be these guys
Call your reps. Track your ballots. Defend and report those ballots if missing, and call/submit those White House comments.
This is no time for half measures. Please reblog
*more evidence to use in a call/message:

Don't fucking blame Palestinians and the people who support them for this. Don't blame people who couldn't bring themselves to vote for a genocide-loving centrist for this. Even if all of them voted for Harris it wouldn't have changed the outcome.
The blame you put on the people belongs on HARRIS for refusing to explicitly promise an end to weapons and money to Israel, and end to America's enthusiastic support of the genocide. She refused to listen to the bipartisan majority of Americans who want an end to the genocide! This is not democracy, there is no choice and the people don't have enough leverage over our president if every single election is a choice between the rapid end of the world and a slightly slower end of the world.
#election#im mad#neoliberals stop yelling at your community and start yelling at the people in charge!#blame the people who ACTUALLY have power!#i love you and i want you to see that WE ALL DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS BULLSHIT#and also! vise versa! leftists dont blame ppl who voted for harris for not pushing enough#ppl are just trying to do what we think is safest and its difficult to know what the right thing to do is in this age#personally i voted for harris even though i really didn't want to bc trump is scarier#this countrys too fucking big#no 1 person should have so much power#anyway its hard to know whats real and what's an op these days so i dont blame ppl getting scared and voting for harris

what's pissing me off most about the election is how many people who have similar opinions are absolutely tearing into each other in search of someone to "blame" for the trump win. It doesn't matter what we could've done differently because at the end of the day it's done. blaming each other and turning on each other is only gonna help the white supremacists who want to run this country. so instead we need to focus on creating community so that we have a network of resistance and care built into our lives. tear into trump supporters all you want but if you are anti trump, if you were discontent with both options, if you were/are whatever, focus on people who share the same ideas as you and how you can build each other up and make your community stronger. that is where revolution begins. not yelling about ballots that have already been cast.
#yes youre allowed to be angry but after this week channel that anger into making change#get off the phone get off the computer#talk to people. organize. make connections. find a community that will support you.#you're preaching to the choir i promise.#im saying this as a union organizer YOU MUST FOCUS ON SIMILARITIES focus on what you want to achieve TOGETHER. my union is in danger as the#-NLRB is handed over to the trump administration. I see people talking about how 'we need to start organizing' then all they do is sit and-#-yell at a screen. if you want to organize then get started.#im tired of people fear mongering and saying we're doomed. we're doomed if you keep up what youre doing. get up. talk to a neighbor. find-#-a friend to lean on. i KNOW you feel helpless. we all do. but for the love of god get up and start putting the work in. we must fight-#-against the system in order to dismantle it.#us politics

the problem in usamerican politics is the lack of diversity to choose from because if you showed the working class republicans what the MPP sector in my country is most of them would switch to the far left so fast, when you actually hear what they want their demands and train of thoughts are reasonable (except when they begin to go off the rails with religious extremism and racism of course) but if you keep treating them as uneducated rural beasts you will never meet in the middle ground, meanwhile a lot of so called progressive voters in the US would be supporting the more conservative candidates here when you see all that they are willing to overlook just to mindlessly keep supporting a certain party, so while yes those crazy "we interviewed trump supporters" videos are funny, you have to dig a little deeper into what is being said because a lot of times the people you call mad are scarily closer to the truth than you are, like when republicans where calling H. Clinton the mother of ISIS... they were right, sure they were probably focusing on the wrong reasons to hate her, but it was the truth, and the so called most progressive sectors were willing to die on a sword for her, and don't even get me started with the one currently running. At the very least you should hear what your fellow citizens have to say about your government officials imo
#except if they are downright being racist transphobic etc pos of course that doesnt mean you have to hear shit of what they say regarding it#i said it there but it bears repeating in the piss of the poor website#dont listen to the ones that are fanatical about trump and yelling kill all the XYZ people but listen to the normal regular guys#which are the majority and all of you working class people are on the same page you have the same issues and need the same things
