After Solas’ grimness upsets her, Rook finds herself needing to confront her grief - both over Marcel’s death and her fear that Solas will die in their final fight.

Hearing “final fight” come out of his excessively pretty lips leaves her longing to strangle him. Not, like, to the death because he’s kind of a total badass, but enough to leave him with a sore throat so he can’t actually speak the words “final fight” for a day or two. Worse, is that Solas has discussed the idea of making himself bait in the fight, rendering her and the rest of the team invisible and able to move freely into position. Iris doesn’t just seem fine with this idea - she’s volunteered herself to fight with Solas, saying something about how the two of them will live or die together.

Morbid shit. Is this what Iris thinks about when Solas is railing her?

Lately she’s been having nightmares about Marcel and how he died to keep her from falling into that crevice alongside him. Demons whisper blame into her ears and when she wakes in the morning she tells herself that it’s better that Marcel’s death haunt her than the guilt that all of Thedas suffers because she was a dumbass who meddled in a ritual she did not understand, but that’s no comfort.

Final fight. Final fucking fight. Fighting only ends when you die.
