So, besides Broppy. What'd be the most likely(or healthy?) Ship in the nomade AU for branch?

I mean, it's cannon he is attractive and adorable. (Is that still cannon in this AU? Do trolls find the faral mentally ill cat look attractive?)

Anyway, this is a weird question-

Honestly it’d be Creek (they would be ex’s once his traitorism comes to light) The relationship would be lowkey kinda toxic (Creek is basically using Branch, while Branch is completely unaware that he was even in a relationship and thought they were just really good friends) Branch is heartbroken and enraged when he finds out he’s been lied too for the past couple years.

If Broppy wasn’t a thing (or if poppy was cool with polyamory) it’d probably be Synth and Branch too (I mean come on they’re adorable together 🥰)

Also yea he’s still attractive (by troll standards) and still absolutely adorable (once you get to know him he is basically a cat) He is just this pathetic mentally ill wet cat and the trolls who do like him have a “I can fix him” mentality.

My newest AU that I have been so invested in creating. In this one, Branch and Poppy were childhood friends until he left Pop Village on his own, feeling abandoned by his brothers while mourning the loss of his grandmother (after escaping the bergens). Instead of waiting around in his bunker, he leaves to forget about anything tied to his past. Poppy remains at the village working to be a good princess and teacher, but still misses this one piece of her past. Years later, Princess Poppy and Branch reunite once again when she ends up needing his help...but he's a rock troll now? Can they rebuild what they once had even though they come from such different worlds now?

I have lots of plans and things for this AU but that's essentially the outline I'm working off of :) It's full of romcom tropes bc I'm a sucker for romance. I hope you like it bc I sure do!

I think the beautiful thing about the Broppy relationship is how they impact one another.

Branch’s impact on Poppy is the most obvious in the movies because he’s the one who teaches her to calm down and listen.

But what I think people overlook is the fact that despite her flaws, Poppy never gave up on Branch. Because as cute as they are now, there was a time when Branch was actually pretty cruel to her (ie. Putting her down, smashing her custom made invitations for him in front of her face, mocking her ideals, etc) and probably had been treating her like that for years before movie #1.

Everyone else had given up on him, basically deeming him as a lost cause, but Poppy never stopped trying. Yes Branch got on her nerves and hurt her feelings, and as far as she knew he would just throw her invitations away afterwards. Yet despite that she still put in the effort to make him custom invitations and genuinely want him to be there.

And even though he never dared express it, those efforts meant something to him.

Like we love Branch, but I don’t think we give Poppy enough credit for her role in Branch’s life. He was unkind (to put it lightly) to her for years, but despite that she never held any resentment towards him and still felt that he deserved to be happy. And by that incredible persistence, she worked her way into his heart.

See, Branch is a character who is completely used to tragedy and people he loves leaving in his life. So that’s partially why he pushed Poppy away and treated her so poorly. But despite that, Poppy was always THERE. She was with him when literally nobody else was. She was naive, optimistic and annoying, but she was there. Always putting the effort to be his friend, and the only one who had any sort of faith in him. He may have been isolated, but because of Poppy he was never truly alone. And even if it irked him, he still appreciated that.

And when somebody sticks with you literally no matter what, it’s not surprising that he fell more than a little bit in love.

As for Poppy, she’s slowly becoming aware that she can be a bit much sometimes. She always wants the best for her people but she doesn’t always know how to do that. Branch, even if originally rude about it, has always been able to give it to her straight. And even if he pretended not to care, he still had her back when it mattered the most. And after number one, it looks like he has her back more than ever while still being able to be the voice of reason. Which yes, Poppy definitely needs.

(Gah I wish I could put more pictures to elaborate my point but y’all get it.)

Anyway. They’re not perfect characters, but they are perfect for each other. Branch supports Poppy but gives it to her flat out. Meanwhile Poppy too supports Branch and is stubborn enough to stick by him, even when he’ll intentionally and/or unintentionally push her away. And that’s just gorgeous.

So there was that wormhole dimension travel episode in the Trolls cartoon, what would’ve happened if the cartoon versions ended up in the Grey troll village? lol I feel like they would high-tail it out of there so damn fast OR Poppy would insist on helping the grey trolls get back their color til they eventually end up deciding that they should return to trying to get back home. Idk And omg Trollstopia Branch meeting Nomads AU Branch, so many self reflections to be had for him. Cooper too if his counterpart is there too.

This would be their reaction (maybe some panic on Branch’s part plus a touch of ptsd)

It would be.. strange to say the least they would probably hightail out of there so quickly!!! BUT if Poppy wanted to stay and help. Branch would probably talk her out of it and tell her that they would just have to let it run it’s course and that he’ll find his happiness then…cut to a Poppy running up to somewhat smiling nomad leader Branch (it’ll be a looonnnggg journey for nomad Branch but eventually!!! he’ll be happy again he just needs to heal slowly)

If trollstopia Branch met nomad Branch it would send him spiraling about becoming grey again and how it would undo all his process at becoming a troll again.

Nomad Branch would be weirded out by ALL of this!! and quickly go to shut himself in his bunker to reflect on if he made a mistake leaving the village all those years ago (he would be losing his mind)

If Cooper met nomad Cooper (mentioned a long time ago in a what if post) It would basically just be two Coopers in the same room, the only difference being nomad Cooper is basically just babysitting other Cooper so he doesn’t get hurt.

most kisses are initiated by poppy, so when branch gets to do it first it's an immediate 100% critical hit on poppy. branch needs to hype himself up internally because he gets flustered overthinking things too much. his success rate at initiating kisses is much higher when he's swept up in the moment!
