It's been a while huh? How about a long ass trolls au post? Would that be anything?

Ok but seriously I'm obsessed with them and wrecked my sleep schedule for two nights in a row because I was having so much fun drawing them. I haven't seen any crossovers yet and I have many thoughts about how the mdzs/trolls lore works.

I was thinking about making each clan a different type of troll (the lans would fit classical so well etc but I wasn't really into the cupid aesthetic lmao) but the point of this at the beginning was just to get rid of major art block by drawing cute trolls so I just did whatever :'D

The gist of it is Wei Wuxian is a rock troll adopted into the pop troll society by the jiangs and in his yiling laozu era he fully leans into the rock side of himself that he used to suppress to fit in. I had to make Chenqing into an electric guitar, obviously, (rip wangxian duet) and he uses it to control rock zombies. As usual he gets resurrected by Mo Xuanyu (Did he die by being eaten? Maybe.) and his final form reflects both his love for pop while embracing his rock side as well. Also yes, the Jin trolls are yellow, so.

Since the Lan clan are not really classical trolls I thought they're instead more of the love ballad type of pop, (fits the lans only love once thing too!) so, very sentimental. Which makes Lan Wangji stand out by being cold and seemingly closed off while he's secretly composing love songs for Wei Wuxian. Design-wise I felt the lans would wear more layers and keep their hair tied but I wanted to differentiate the style from Wei Wuxian's ponytail so it's either a half tied up (down? since troll hair goes up??) or a bun. I thought it was funny to give Lan Wangji a huge hairpiece to keep the high hair thing going even when it's tied. Also it kinda marks his age, the taller it is the older he is. Maybe it's a status symbol as well.

I didn't really put too much though into A-Yuan since I just randomly decided to add him cause baby trolls are adorable but basically just Wen colours and the pigtails are homage to manhua A-Yuan whom I love.

Overall I tried to mix design elements from both ips and I really like how they turned out. I think that's all for now. :'D

(I had this au thought in my head, sorry if it's too much😅) so in the chapter: "battle of the bands", what if it's the same but instead of jd it's floyd who saved them and it DID stab him?(don't worry he lives) when veneer witness this, he distracts his sister so he can them out of here and come clean to everybody while they hurry to the medic pod to save floyd?

Ok, so I actually combined what I have written previously to create this story for ya 🙂 Text from "Battle of the Bands," "Redeemed," and "Mission Accomplished" (all oneshots from my fanfic collection Trolls 3.0) were utilized, as I think that things would mostly be going the same way as I had wrote it, except for some minor changes. Hope that you enjoy ✨

Struck (a Trolls fanfic)

“No…” Velvet whimpered. “No, no, no, no, no, no, NO!” Her hands shook as she grabbed the cracked pieces of the diamond that had scattered all around her on the ground, and uselessly tried to piece them together.

Veneer in the meantime looked rather thoughtful. Finally, the one item that had been the cause of all the turmoil for the Trolls had been decimated. And he, for one, was glad.

But, before he could start mentioning this to his sister, and before she could even take notice of the contented expression on her brother’s face, her vision honed in on a larger piece of the diamond that had broken off, perfectly shaped as a dagger would be… and then flitted her gaze to the celebrating Trolls to the side. One thing and one thing only crossed her mind then and there, and she grabbed the diamond piece, raising it above her head and charging at the Trolls with a piercing cry.

“Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! ”

Much happened in those next few seconds, all at once. Poppy shrieked at the sight of the maniacal doll-like creature heading for them, and Branch shoved her behind him out of instinctiveness to keep his girlfriend safe. He expected to feel the blade pierce him, but was shocked to find that something had taken the blow full on instead, shielding him.

That something – or some one as it was – was Floyd, who’d jumped in the way with a cry of “NOOO!”

In a horrific scene, like something that someone would see only in a nightmare, the BroZone brother fell to the ground, stabbed.

The brothers gasped in shock.

“FLOYD!!”

Branch was the first to rush to his side where he’d landed, sprawled and wincing. “Floyd…” he said, more quietly this time. He was stunned to see that his older brother would do something so stupid as to blatantly put himself in danger. Hadn’t the Troll had enough, having been trapped in that diamond and weakened with the power of his talent being sucked out? But… he did it to save ME, Branch realized, seeing that maybe his older brother’s reasoning wasn’t all that stupid. It was honorable, if anything, and something so true to what Floyd would do. And the blue Troll wasn’t the only one mortified over the incident either.

Veneer’s jaw dropped, beyond horrified of what his sister had done. His sister, who, in her insensitive manner towards the band’s sensitive one, was actually celebrating, cackling and nudging him with amusement for her seeming victory. But her victory would not be long-lived, not if he could help it.

Having had the last straw, Veneer turned to the cameras that surrounded them, speaking boldly and clearly for everybody to hear. “Listen up, Mount Rageons!” he called. “We are… FRAUDS!”

His admission was met with a number of gasps from the throngs of fans who had shown up to witness the performance - including the gasp of his own sister, who had been cut off from her celebratory mood.

“WHAT?” she growled.

“Don’t ‘what’ me, sis! You and I have literally been torturing little Trolls. Just look at what you just did!” He turned the camera towards where Floyd was laying in pain with his brothers surrounding him, the diamond shard jutting out in an ugly manner.

The Mount Rageons gasped once again, and that’s when the shouts began.

“Velvet did that?!”

“She’s not a popstar - she’s a murderer!”

“My illusion of celebrity has been shattered!”

Velvet shoved her brother aside and pleaded into the cameras. “Don’t listen to him! He’s a liar! I, um… I plead the insanity defense! Yeah!”

Veneer rolled his eyes. “Yeah, right, sis. You knew exactly what you were doing. Just like you did when you were trying to change who I was. And there’s nothing ‘insane’ here except for you thinking that I want to become famous with you like this!”

Velvet’s cheeks were turning crimson. “How else are we gonna be famous?!”

Veneer had an answer for that. “We just have to practice. It might take time, but that’s how it is. Fame doesn’t just come overnight. You have to work at it, and have the right people by your side.”

"That Troll has been getting to your head!" Velvet hissed.

"That 'Troll' has shown me that I do have real talent within. And that we don't have to do this!" He spared a glance at Floyd, and felt worry prick at him. The Troll looked in worse condition than ever. When he was able to catch Branch’s gaze of the four brothers that surrounded him, he whispered an urgent “Go,” hoping that they would get him the medical attention he needed whilst his sister remained distracted.

“It’s like I don’t even know who you are anymore,” Velvet whined with disgust.

“Yeah, you do,” he stated firmly, “you just never cared. Which is why I don’t care to know what you think about this!” He snapped on a pair of handcuffs to her wrists, and she gasped.

“Veneer! What did you do?!”

“What has to be done sis,” he said matter-of-factly, snapping a pair of handcuffs to his own wrists. Extending his arms out towards two approaching guards, he said, “Officers, I think we need to serve our time.”

The crowd cheered as the pop-stars were led away, elated that justice had been served.

But things, however, were not so jubilant on behalf of the Trolls themselves.

Frantically, the brothers laid Floyd down atop of the couch within John Dory’s caterbus, the Troll groaning as Branch, Clay, Bruce and JD surrounded their brother in a semicircle. Poppy and Viva stood off to one side, watching with wide eyes and giving the guys their space.

“Oh my gosh…” Clay murmured. “What do we do? ”

Branch took the lead on that. “First things first, we need to get this outta him.” He gestured at the very obvious piece he was referring to, trying not to grimace too much.

Hurriedly agreeing, each bro held the magenta Troll down while Branch gripped the diamond shard and tugged. It slipped out easily, the tip tinted a deep scarlet color. With hesitance, he looked down at Floyd, bracing himself for the worst. But, to his relief, Branch was able to determine that, while injured, his brother’s wound did not run as deep as he’d imagined. But it didn’t mean that they were out of the woods just yet.

“Quick, get me some gauze,” he urged. He managed to take the next minute in cleaning the area and applying the appropriate bandages.

Floyd, however, had stilled.

“Floyd?” Branch called, uncertainly.

“Come on, man, wake up,” Bruce coaxed. He grabbed onto his leg and shook him, but the Troll felt like deadweight.

“We need you, brother,” John Dory whispered.

“Oh, no…,” Clay murmured, when his brother still did not respond.

Branch bent down close to Floyd’s ear, speaking softly into it. “I built the hideout, Floyd… Just like the plan I drew…” A hand went to his leaf vest, where, in its inner pocket, the drawing was safely stowed away. “Well, except for the ten-story waterslide,” he amended.

A moment of silence passed after that, John Dory, Bruce, Clay and Branch silently mourning the painful loss of the gentle magenta-haired Troll.

Until…

Eyes slowly fluttered open, and a soft recognizable voice asked, “But… how will we shower?”

The Troll squeaked in surprise when all four of the brothers replied with a scream of "FLOYD!" and was subsequently crushed by arms squeezing him in a tight hug.

"You're alive!"

"Oh, thank goodness!"

"We thought you were a goner for good!"

Floyd chuckled but then winced. “Oof, not too tight, guys,” he said apologetically, gesturing at the freshly-bandaged injury.

“Whoops, sorry man!” JD replied with a sheepish little chuckle.

The three elder brothers bombarded him with phrases of relief instead. Branch in the meantime remained clung at his side, not wanting to let go, making sure that this was real.

"I'm so glad you're okay," he told him genuinely.

Floyd grinned at him, sweetly ruffling the blue-haired crop of hair atop of head. "Hey, um guys?" he asked the brothers. They immediately perked and listened in. "Do you think we could be a family again?"

Branch exchanged a look with the others. They knew just what he was thinking, so he spoke up for all of them. "Floyd, we ARE a family." And with that he went back and wrapped his arms around him again.

Seeing it as the perfect moment, Viva grabbed Poppy and led them over to the boys with a cheery shout of “GROUP HUG!”

And as all seven Trolls snuggled against each other contently, they knew that it was finally time to go home, together as one true family.

The Beginning (Harmonic Heroes AU)

A long time ago, a group of five brothers performed in a famous boyband that was named BroZone. The Pop Trolls in the Pop Kingdom loved listening to them and going to their concerts.

They, as well as trolls beyond the Pop Kingdom, also knew that this wasn't the only occupation that they held. As far as public knowledge goes, the four oldest brothers and their grandmother have been chosen by the powerful Soul Gems to wield powers according to their Light and Voice: Truth, Passion, Prosperity, Resolution and Freedom. They train to get stronger to prepare for when their world needs them.

One day about 20 years ago, their parents, who have not only been missing for a long time but also behaving strangely, suddenly came back and declared war on the Kingdoms of Pop, Rock, Techno, Country, and Funk. And they brought an army of monsters with them.

The five kingdoms fought valiantly, though not without receiving varying amounts of damage, with the Funk Kingdom being supposedly wiped off the map and the Rock Kingdom displaced.

The final battle had taken place on top of the Pop Castle, which was near the Troll Tree.

The Harmonic Heroes knew that the only way for the war to end was for them to take their parents out themselves. So, putting on their band vests, the grandmother took the four oldest boys to face off against their parents. The only explanation that they gave to the four year old brother before leaving was that they needed to take care of their parents and that they would be right back.

As the Pop Trolls began to evacuate from the chaos from that battle, before the young Bitty B evacuated himself, he suddenly experienced the painful equivalent of a hand squeezing his heart, causing him to scream and laid in the fetal position. After recovering enough to walk, he grabbed the leafy vest of the second-youngest brother and evacuated onto the airships. But he still waited for his family to come find him.

In the aftermath of the battle, none of the bodies were ever found, leading to everyone, including the four year old, to conclude that they somehow perished.

Meanwhile, it seemed that someone made their way back to an abandoned pod, starting their search for answers as to what happened to their parents...

Finally, I finished the Snack Pack for the Hidden AU, which me and @georgi-girl are working on. It is filled with references from Disney Wish, Sleeping Beauty, Nimona, Disenchantment, Asterix and Obelix, Lego Nexo Knights, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance, from the fashion and the architecture to the culture and the events happening in the story. Centering on the three protagonists, the refugee/royal ward from the pop tribe who was adopted by Queen Celestia, Princess Poppy, her best friend Queen Rose, the new queen of the Platinum Tribe and the late queen's granddaughter, and her fellow pop tribe refugee/royal ward Branch, the trio of best friends and their merry band set on a journey to search for the Pop Tribe and unite the troll tribes and subtribes but helped the five troll tribes, the vacaytioners, and the rageons along the way.

Since Poppy and Rose were princesses from the start, they had an expensive education and lived luxuriously together, thanks to their royal status. The Snack Pack were taken in by the Platinum Tribe as royal wards after the separation from the Pop Tribe during the escape from the troll tree so they had destined occupations within the adopted tribe but their pop attitude often gave the nobility and the upper class members of the Platinum tribe headaches. Branch was trained to be a knight among the Platinum knights and was favored by the nobles. Smidge was also trained as a knight but she chose to become a royal bodyguard. DJ Suki took on music lessons as a troubadour and Guy Diamond likes to volunteer as a model for many artists and sculptors. Cooper becomes a royal ward as a newly-hatched trolling and works as a royal baker with Legsly in the royal bakery. Biggie works at the royal stables as a wrangler for prized critters like solions, umbigris, armadillo buses, puffalos, unicorns, canine or feline critters, swag stags, and many more. After the destruction of the old Platinum castle, the Snack Pack members starts their journey to unite all of the tribes and subtribes while looking for the pop tribe.

In Challenge au Branch is much more enthusiastic about the Dance Off in World Tour. As a band troll, he knows all the rules of dance battles and battle of the bands, after all, having practiced them with his brothers for the rare occasion they'd run into rival bands. So he's more surprised both groups want him to dance with them than the fact it happened at all. And the Bounty Hunters notice this because that whole thing was a vibe check.

Hey there! What happens in your Mamma Mia/Trollhunter AU? And how do you feel about the Childhood Friend Romance trope, have you seen it done poorly or good? I’m thinking of how to write Draal’s death for my own fanfic, but what kind of heroic sacrifice should I give him?

Heya! Sorry its taken me a hot minute to get to this ask I honestly kinda forgot I had a TH Mamma Mia AU its been so long xD

From what I can find (since I dont believe I ever wrote anything down and only really made one drawing for it xD) I remember it mainly followed the plot of the musical, with Deya as Donna, and Aaarrrgghh as Sophie (and ofc Blinky is Sky because troll dads solos i've never faltered on that) IIRC, the changeling trio (Otto, Strickler and Nomura) were the mystery dads, but it was more about who 'created' him because I might have been goin by canon troll creation headcanons with the whole rock magic shit xD I also didnt ship any of em with Deya but it still couldve been crack at that. Childhood friends to lovers is a really good trope! I've definitely seen it done really well and also not that great, and I've used it myself as well (Trollhunters marching band AU, c!Skizzpulse, origins Syndisparklez) I find it tends to work better when its not so much a blatant "ok now were older and adults we obviously have to go beyond just friends its obligatory" but more like "ive known you a long time, and maybe i fell in love you for other reasons then that but you're still my friend and we just get each other because we're already so close", like its gotta develop beyond just growing up in someway for me to really be invested in it xD

and oo sacrifice love me a good sacrifice :eyes: I don't know the plot of your fic, but if ya do wanna have him sacrifice himself, doing so against the will of the others is always peak angst (i.e., like Jim is meant to die or something, and Draal takes the fall instead before anyone else or him can give in)- that could be stuff like being the vessel for taking in the evil to prevent it from harming anything else, or taking out the big bad with him to save the rest of them :3 Trading his soul for someone else to live would also be kinda cool, or if you want it a battle scene, using himself as the weapon that ends the final boss smiles

If JD took his brothers on a hiking/ camping trip and as a result the band didn’t break up would the perfect family harmony have been able to defend pop village against the rock troll invasion from movie 2. Since it blows everything up?

Idk maybe? I'm not sure how the Perfect Harmony works very well. in one of my aus, Peppy asks JD to work to do it as a possible fight against the Bergens but I imagine if that was the same concept, it could work against the rock troll thing too.

It kind of reminds me on how the Rock String broke apart the Techno home. So I feel like it could probably at least match that destruction? Which would be an interesting battle/fight scene? If they could figure out how to use it that way.

Ngl I think it would be super funny if no one left and JD just forced them to go on a camping trip (walk for your mental health all ya'll) and it just kind went boom problem solved. JD getting a bit of a break maybe, others being able to hash things out, no pressure from others or fans or anyone etc.

And JD can watch a sunrise unhindered by Bergen... stuff.

IDK I love camping and I feel like that kind of vacation can really help reset people, help them relax, and figure stuff out.

I think my modern AU for the Homestuck characters is one where the kids play SBURB and successfully recreate a merged version of their two universes, with Alternia and Earth both existing in the same universe. From a non-player perspective, life continued as normal from 2011-2016, but in actuality those years never happened. Now that the events causing the Dirk and Roxy's future have been avoided, major events continued approximately as they did in our universe until the present day. The kids and trolls are all currently 26 (in Earth years).

Canon happened slightly differently in that the retcon happened differently. Vriska was removed from harm an instant before she died--and so was Karkat and everyone else who died in GAME OVER, KID--but miraculously returned to the timeline just after John went back. They all band together to have the final battle and save the universe.

The universe that comes out is the alpha kids' universe, not the beta kids'. As far as the universe is concerned, John and Jade already lived and Rose and Dave lived their lives and one day disappeared. The beta kids don't exist as "people" as far as society is concerned, at least at first. (John has proper documentation and everything now, a passport, a social security number, all matched up as if Jane Crocker always had a brother. Dave Strider and Rose Lalonde always had heirs also named Dave (and Dirk) Strider and Rose (and Roxy) Lalonde, they were known eccentrics. It's just faked, with incredible skill by the machinations of people with reality bending magic powers). Dad and Jane were seen at his job and in school, but starting on 11/11/11, they were like ghosts of their former selves, just going through the motions - until they suddenly "came back to life" on April 13th, 2016, with a new "brother" and then a bunch of new "internet friends" moving in. There's so many official records to back up the lives of all these "internet friends"... Just no actual eye witness accounts. There's a lot of whispers of it on subreddits about unsolved mysteries.

On Alternia, the surviving trolls were just considered another dead wriggler. Karkat and Feferi were the only ones anyone noticed, both with great sadness by any group hoping to rebel. Her Imperial Condescension ruled as usual, completely unopposed--until one day, she was found dead. Troll society was in an uproar. And at the same moment she died, The Sufferer's Descendant came back to life.

This pubescent child was the Messiah.

Karkat got swept up in a movement he hadn't even known existed, from a scorned and despised mutant hiding and scrabbling to live with every ounce of willpower that he had to the worshipped head of a Holy Resistance. He became the most famous troll in all of Her Great Empire. Karkat Vantas, the Sufferer Reborn.

(Except he'd met the Sufferer, or at least an alternate kid version of him, and he had been a total prick. And now he had to live up to his teachings and more. And he really just wanted to find his friends and get over the trauma of what had just happened to him somewhere quiet and tucked away, so he could open up Trollian and message John, to make sure he and Dave and the others were okay.)

There was a great and violent rebellion. Many were killed. Vriska, Terezi and Kanaya were at the heart of it. Everyone knew who their ancestors were now. Vriska was finally special, and together, she and Terezi were better than everyone else at war. She wasn't just known, she was a hero.

It was horrible. She hated it. It didn't fix anything. She was a stupid girl would have died in that game if John Egbert had not been brave enough to save her, and the woman fighting beside her hadn't guided him to. Just because they loved her. She was horrible. She was vicious. She was hated and feared and she was loved.

She didn't know who she was anymore. So she fought. She was a legend. She fought with incredible powers no troll should ever have, that psionics didn't account for. And they won the war.

And then they got a spaceship to Earth as quickly as they could, because they needed to find their fucking friends.

(The only beings in the universe would ever understand, maybe not all of it, but some of it. Of course they'd been in contact all this time. Even when they were busy, they kept everyone updated.)

With advanced alien technology, the trolls can disguise themselves as humans easily. They make a grand escape from troll society. It feels cowardly to leave when there's still so much work to do, when there's still so much to change, but... They're just kids. They were always just kids, and they don't want to fight anymore.

So they sneak away. they stay with their human friends and crash at their places, and Karkat never actually moves out from Dave and Jade's place. John was already living alone. They all live in the same city. (I guess I have to decide a place? I'm gonna make it in the American desert. I'm moving there so, so soon to be with my girlfriend, and it will be fun to write from John's POV how it's different from my home town, which very similar in its Midwestern suburban-ness to John's.)

God tiers like John and Vriska are aging normally, still unable to die any death but a just or heroic one. They all have their powers still, god tier or not. It's basically NG+ now for them, and they still have access to their game features (but the world is locked and they cannot edit it. Everything is exactly as it was the moment Jane entered the medium). They're pretty set up for life and what they want to do with it.

here's a little write - up of important thorfinn tidbits & events, that i especially find major for my characterization, for anyone who may be interested in plotting soon or who may like future starter calls [ if you're unfamiliar with the story in any capacity ] !

thorfinn, born in 996, is the youngest child of the great jomsviking commander & warrior, thors snorresson [ "troll of jom" ]. his father faked his death & migrated to iceland for a better, calmer life. there he & thorfinn's mother, helga, gave birth to him.

at the age of six it's revealed that thors' former allies learned he was still alive & approached him, stating they will being out to war & he is to join them. thorfinn, being the most skilled in the village, wanted to join his father at battle, telling thors he's fit to fight because of his natural skill eyed by the other men around him. although being told no, thorfinn sneaks onto the ship anyway.

whilst at sea, a danish commander, askeladd takes thors' life in front of thorfinn's eyes. it's then thorfinn sets his mission that for as long as he breathes he will behead askeladd & avenge his father's death. this is the entirety of thorfinn's boyhood, nearly an entire decade with just the intent to murder, nothing but blood on his hands, on his face, in his mouth, & on his blades.

to do this thorfinn essentially lives with askeladd & his band, waiting at askeladd's hand & foot off & on battle. [ this basically entails thorfinn doing askeladd's dirty work; beheading men, stealing jewels, setting villages aflame, being overall mischievous & troublesome. he becomes numb to this ritual, the pain absolutely nothing to him ]; this is because he always let's thorfinn know that for any task he achieves, he will have the chance to duel with him, which is thorfinn's ultimate goal, at the end of the day. [ * it's kind of fun to note here that thorfinn is canonically very short. around five foot one / five foot two. so imagine you see this little boy on the field, around sixteen - eighteen, with death in his eyes killing grown men with ease. terrifying ]

during these many tasks of receiving riches, losing duels against askeladd, missing his father, & beheading literal commanders of rival teams; thorfinn is asked to watch over a meek, mute prince again his will [ prince, later king, canute; ruler of denmark & england ]. this is all askeladd's doing that has major consequences at the end but i'm not writing thorfinn at that time so it doesn't matter for this blog, not right now <3

random important personality points: thorfinn is extremely hot - headed & rude. childhood aside, he has raised himself & hasn't had any positive figures in his life since his father. this is a boy who taught himself to fight & can kill animals with ease in order to survive.

thorfinn can be selective when he speaks. not mute like canute, but selfish when it comes to his voice. but when he speaks, he speaks.

he's canonically extremely fast. it's one of the first thing people notice about him when he fights. he knows how to angle his body to take less hits &, again in canon, has taken up to 100 punches & was still standing, bruised & bloody, because he's a true warrior.

his family, & everyone in the village, those who remember him, all think he's dead. the last time they saw him was before his father was set to war when he was six. they had no idea he snuck onto the boat with him. in many aus & modern interpretations i have him set as an orphan.

HEADCANON: he's really just a troubled, traumatized baby, tbfh. there's an entire scene where he loses a duel to askeladd & he's so disappointed in himself he becomes a sulking mess. instead of joining dinner with everyone else he sits on his father's ship, in the snow, wrapped in a blanket, seeing astral projection - like images of him & his father when he was a child. his walls are up extremely high & i bet he wishes he could talk to someone about all of this without having to be in fight mode 24/7. just look at him:
