It’s crazy to think that the simple Minecraft YouTubers we watch today made Minecraft the way it is from the beginning.

I don't normally like posting MCYT stuff because the fandom both scares me and also tend to engage with it in a way I don't. Not hate or to yuck anyone's yum if that's your thing, it's just not normally how I engage with SMPs at least not the stuff from the dream influenced side.

But I will say as someone who's been watching Lizzie and Joel for basically as long as I've had a YouTube account, (they were both some of the first channels I ever subbed to and the original Shadowcraft was like the first every long form YouTube content I ever watched) and who has Joel screaming Lizzies name in terror shock and awe at the insanity of her antics as a deeper core memory than my mother's voice, the exchange with Grian in the the most recent episodes of secret life of:

"I thought you two were married"

"that doesn't mean we have to be nice to each other"

did make me cackle. They're dynamic is iconic and I love them both dearly

esmp au where a few months after the rapture, lizzie (as a human, without her memories) is scavenging through the ruins when she finds a strange hat, shaped like a walrus. she feels the inexplicable urge to put it on, and when she does, the world suddenly goes back to normal. lizzie is extremely confused.

OLI THEORIONSOUND who i am going to be intelligent and nominate the trollcraft version of because you said two guys per smp and 64 nominees and i'm pretty sure i can fit trollcraft in with 32 smp slots. it's technically the same guy as the empafterlife one anyway in my heart. trollcraft oli is just a silly goose with a weird ass chicken ex-girlfriend and i love him dearly

Oh god this made me retrace my steps in mcyt, and it’s crazy. To me, each era of liking it was separated by 6 months to a year of none of it, then coming back to it. Like I always do! But with the timeline, that didn’t really happen. There were at month 4 months in between phases. I’ve been her constantly. For 8 years. Crazy, huh?

ok so the story begins way back on trollcraft a billion years ago, who's counting at this point, certainly not oli. more importantly it's about a dozen servers ago; oli makes a habit out of hopping from world to world whenever he gets bored of the last one, which is often.

more importantly, on trollcraft he was 21, young and stupid and willing to do stupid things like go out with beautiful women named angela who turn out to be more than a bit obsessed with chickens. (maybe she was half chicken herself? oli didn't stop to ask.) and they spent a wonderful night together, but then she ended up being crazy, so he dipped, and then there was all this business with the mini-mes that basically took his mind off the whole thing. he got bored, he bounced, he took a bit of a sabbatical sleeping on callum and lizzie's sofas before he settled into funcraft, all's well that ends well.

flash forward to empires smp.

oli has been making a tidy little career for himself as a bard, if you ignore the crippling debt! he's got a beach, he's got a tent, he's working on his new album, things are pretty good.

until.

one day there is a knock on his door.

well, he doesn't have a door. instead there is a woman yelling for him from outside his tent. this, quite rudely, wakes him up from his lovely nap.

the woman in question turns out to have a very familiar face. and so does the boy standing next to her.

it turns out that - whoopsie - your actions have consequences, and when oli thought it was all fun and games messing about with angela, she actually ended up pregnant.

enter tommy, who's fourteen, apparently. angela has been trying to find him to make him pay his child support for that amount of time, but oli's just so good at skipping town that she hadn't managed it till now. (oli doesn't ask how the kid is fourteen if trollcraft was only seven years ago - time dilation can get funky between worlds. joel and lizzie have been married about five different times, it's fine.)

except, obviously, oli's in enough debt as it is, he can't also pay child support.

so angela huffs, and shoves tommy into taking a step forward, and then walks away.

... obviously oli has no fucking clue what to do with a child. he's never been a dad and quite frankly he was never planning on it - but tommy is, uncomfortably, a lot like him, only he's about a quarter chicken, which he keeps referring to as making him Slightly Above Average.

he doesn't want to just leave a child alone in the middle of empires, though, so he does the only thing he can think to do and boats the boy directly down the coast to bring to sausage.

except sausage also doesn't know how to take care of an unexpected teenager, because "hermes is nine, oli" or whatever. so now they have to figure out what to do with this boy, and get him back where he belongs - or at least get him somewhere he belongs - before he manages to eat something poisonous, which he's clearly trying his hardest to do the second oli turns his back, jesus christ, was i really like this?

Troll, Cave (Modern)

The largest and strongest variety of troll is conversely the stupidest and least magical. Cave trolls are animalistic brutes whose intelligence has diminished, preventing them from using trollcraft. In exchange, they’re nearly as large and strong as giants. Their bodies are covered in loose plate-like armor that makes them resemble the very stone they turn into when exposed to high-wavelength light. Living in caves means they very rarely have to deal with petrification. What’s more, cave trolls have a regenerative healing factor which nullifies most forms of damage. Even if one is killed it can come back to life after an interval of time, if the conditions are right. Cave trolls are solitary and fight ferociously when they find one another. When not fighting tooth and nail, they feed on dungeon fungus and rocks (or rather, the nutrients hidden between the minerals). Sometimes dungeon-dwelling orcs and goblins will try and tame a cave troll as a bruiser. Nine times out of ten, it doesn’t end well. 

-Habitat: Caves and dungeons. -Slayer Tips: Take advantage of their lack of intelligence to lure them into traps. Cave trolls sink like stones in water, and can’t revive themselves from asphyxiation.
