Lusii (singular: Lusus or Lusus Naturae) are the caretakers of most trolls on alternia. They are always entirely white, but other than that can look like literally anything. They always share their blood colour with the troll they care for, which means mutant blooded trolls have no lusii and must be cared for by another troll if they are for some reason not culled as a grub.

The relationship between trolls and lusii is symbiotic. The lusii feed and care for the young troll, and the young troll does the same, acting as a sort of zookeeper for their Lusus since they are not of the same intelligence level. Young trolls are culled if their Lusus dies.

Lusii are referred to as distinct types of animals sometimes, which has led me to believe that they may also be kept as pets by adult trolls, kept as livestock, and kept in zoos. (certain Lusii are also said to be more common for trolls of certain blood colours, of course the marine ones are locked to the violetbloods, but there are land ones that only have one blood colour)

On the topic of one-colour lusii, there's also the gl'bgolyb, the Lusus of every fuchsiablood. It is absolutely massive, bigger than a city, and can kill every troll in the universe if commanded by The Condesce (or if it is not fed, it eats other troll'd lusii).It has different pitches that it can release it's death-shriek at, and the lower bloods are the first to go due to their higher sensitivity to psychic attacks.
