Just gonna reshare all of the TRLT fanart that I've made over the years. There's not much, and I've got a couple tucked away until their chapters are up on AO3 😉 The graphic above I shared on 6 April 2019 <- yes, 5 years ago today, and someone (I don't remember who anymore) suggested I write a "conjugal visit" Garcy fic after seeing this graphic. That night, I sat down and began writing TRLT.

👆 This is the very first cover art that I made when I thought TRLT was only going to be 3 chapters long - hence why the background images reflect the prison visit (which took place in the first three chapters).

👆 A few years later, I created this poster size cover for the story (which can also be embedded into an epub file so you see the cover if you import the story into your Kindle, maybe other readers, but I don't know for sure since I only have a Kindle). I actually have this TRLT poster printed and framed, and currently it's up on the wall in my office for inspiration.

👆 In TRLT I decided to rewrite the Timeless episode Hollywoodland since, IMO, it had a weak Rittenhouse target. I also thought bringing the Garcy dynamic into that story would make TRLT's Hollywoodland chapter much more enjoyable than the episode we got on the TV series. And it was... and then I threw in some conflict by having that twat wyat show up 😂

This is another little sneak peek at some dialog for the next chapter of The Road Less Traveled (TRLT). Chapter 28, Le Cygne, which will be published to AO3 this coming Friday (15 November 2024).

Garcia and Lucy have traveled back to December 1905 to watch Anna Pavlova perform for the very first time The Dying Swan.

It's basically a Garcy-on-a-date chapter with a touch of the Christmas/holiday season sprinkled in (and is continued in Chapter 29, La Veille de Noël à Paris, which will be published to AO3 on Friday, 06 December 2024.

On 6 April 2019, I created these graphics in Pixlr. I shared them on Twitter and someone (I forget who) suggested I write a fanfic based on Lucy visiting Garcia in prison (a conjugal visit <- which a lot of ppl assume means sex, but that's not exactly the definition that I found). Well, that night, I sat down and began writing The Road Less Traveled (TRLT). Originally the story was only going to be 3 chapters. But after I wrote those first 3 chapters (in one larger chapter <- I chopped it into three parts), I realised that though I could stop the story at the end of chapter 3, but there was a much larger story that was brewing in my head after what I had written.

It's almost 5 years later, and I have (approximately) 10 chapters left to write until TRLT is completed.

I really, really, REALLY wanted to finish this story before the 5 years anniversary of my starting to write the story, but that isn't going to happen. I will try my best, but... if the final chapters are to be good, I need to take time to make them good.

Chronic insomnia, migraines, anxiety, physical/emotional shutdowns, unexpected family visits, deaths in family, slicing my right index finger with a chef's knife (😱🙄🤦‍♂️), etc, etc, very frequently prevent me from being able to want to and/or focus on writing this story. I've watched it play to its conclusion In my head hundreds of times since 2019. It's not a matter of not knowing how it ends (and how to get there). It's a matter of life not royally sucking every few days/weeks.

Anyhoo... I don't think I reposted those Pixlr graphics yet, saw them on my laptop, so voilà ❤

I'll start working on the next chapter of TRLT once my finger has healed (I probably should've got stitches, but alas... I can't afford any kind of health care that I can't improvise doing myself at home). In the meantime, I finished watching Better Call Saul, and I'm finishing my LOST rewatch, and have started reading Gracie Gold's new book, as well as continuing to reread what I've put on AO3 of TRLT bc I'm super forgetful about what has happened <- my next chapter is the 2003 Lucy's car accident chapter <- one of my favourites for so many reasons.

Chapter 28: Le Cygne

It's the first night of the next six years that Lucy and Garcia will spend living in the past. They arrive in St. Petersburg on the night Anna Pavlova first performs The Dying Swan.

Just a heads up...

I just got edits back from my editor. So... if life doesn't throw me any curveballs, chapter 25, "The Morning After," should be up on AO3 within a week 🤞 (if not sooner).

Now is a good time to refresh your memory of what happened in the previous chapters: chapter 23 "Love, and Everything It Entails" (😱💔😭🙏), and chapter 24 "Absolution" (😱😭🙏❤🔥).

Or, if you haven't started reading The Road Less Traveled yet, I might be biased, but it's quite a fun Garcy ride. It's long, yes, but I like to think that it's nice to spend a lot of time with Garcia and Lucy ❤ There's action, adventure time travel, a Garcy version of the Hollywoodland episode, Lucy's car accident, four chapters dedicated to the Titanic mission, Karl, angst, UST, (hopefully some) laughs, purely evil Rittenhouse, RST. and a guaranteed HEA 😊

With some luck, TRLT will be completed next year.

Poster for my fanfic "The Road Less Traveled" - I actually had this printed, and have it framed in my office 😊 This online, digital version is not print compatible though.

Read "The Road Less Traveled" on AO3. It's still a WIP, and I hope to have it completed sometime next year (2024).

And for those of you reading TRLT as I post updates... I got edits back from my editor the other day, and I expect the next chapter, chapter 25: "The Morning After", to be up on AO3 early next week <- I'm aiming for Monday (which also happens to be my birthday) 😊 I have a few more scenes to go through then a final reread after edits (and some additions) are made.

I haven't looked at chapter 25 in *months* so going through it last night was really fun because I remembered only a few things from this chapter (one big Garcy thing and a couple Emma things). I really am loving this chapter ❤ and I can't wait for you all to read it.

The Road Less Traveled : Ship of Widows

It has always bothered me that in most entertainment that I've watched, the story of the Titanic skims over the ship that rescued the survivors. So, in TRLT, I did as much research into the Carpathia that I could so my little (well... not so little) Timeless/Garcy fanfic could tell a little bit of its story from the rescue until its arrival in New York City.

I sometimes wish that I had written this Titanic mission as its own standalone fanfic so it could reach more readers. I often feel having it smack dab in the middle of an epic length fic keeps it from readers who would otherwise enjoy it. But it is what it is, and IMO the Garcy content is made stronger by the chapters preceding the Titanic chapters. I'm just so damn proud of what I did with the Titanic mission in this story ❤

When I made this I thought that the chapter titled "Le Cygne" would be the 26th chapter. Since making it, I've reworked my outline and it'll probably end up being chapter 27 (maybe 28). At the moment (18 November 2023), the most current chapter published to AO3 of The Road Less Traveled (TRLT) is chapter 24 (with chapter 25 looking to be published to AO3 early next week).
