Shirecorn's Ponyverse Masterpost
So for the last 2 months I've fixated on doing redesigns based somewhat loosely on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I've had so much fun filling in the gaps and extrapolating until my version is less of a redesign and more of an AU.
"Ponies" are three species of sentient hoofed creatures that populate Equestria. They worship giant goddesses that fill the sky and ferry the moon and sun across the world.

All Time Favs
I began reading fanfic in my teens during the original run of the show. There were lonnng breaks from it, but coming back to the fandom in 2017 reignited my interest. I now keep a spreadsheet as well as a "to read" list. I already have almost 600 logged (not including 5 years), so I wanted to share my top favorites. Divided into my 4 favorite genres (AU, casefic, angst + romance, and smut + romance) and in no particular order...
*Alternate Universe*
I used to wonder why someone would choose to read AU. Then I read one of these and was completely blown away.
Katherine of Ireland by Jenna Tooms (gossamer)
Katherine, princess of Ireland is married to Walter, king of Angora. When Walter is killed during battle, Katherine is taken by the enemy, FitzJames. William is FitzJames right hand. When FitzJames orders her to be beaten (even after discovering her pregnancy) William devises a plan to save her, heal her and get her back to Ireland. Will William always be seen as the enemy or will Katherine come to see him for who he truly is?
By the dim and flaring lamps by @sunflowerseedsandscience (ao3)
Civil war AU’s are my jam and this was one of the first ones I read. When Mulder discovers (disguised boy) Scully bathing in a waterfall by darkness and realizes what he is dealing with will remain etched in my brain forever.
In darkness by DKSculder (ao3)
What if Scully was married to Daniel? What if Daniel was a serial killer? What if Mulder was a VCU agent still? This is an unfinished work, but the idea is unlike any other I’ve come across.
Blinded by the white light by DashaK (ao3)
Need I say more? When Mulder and Scully find each other after colonization, will they remember each other and will they act on it?
The second side of light by @scapegrace74-blog (ao3)
Oregon Trail. Mulder is leading scully and Melissa across the trail when Melissa dies. They end up getting very close to one another on the journey.
Paracelsus by profuckslove (ao3)
Another amazing civil war AU. When Mulder goes looking for his lost son and comes across a pregnant scully what will happen to them?
Hiareth by profuckslove (gossamer)
Wales 1215. Scully escapes the king by marrying Mulder, the prince of wales. Marriage leads to love and fighting off dangerous men.
Paracosm by @softnow (ao3)
This is an unfinished work. College AU. Mulder has a crush on the library girl, will she return his advances?
A companion unobtrusive by @slippinmickeys (ao3)
A college AU where scully is looking for a roommate and Mulder is looking for a room. Melissa introduces them and the rest is history.
Qui Si by Trixie (gossamer)
After accepting an offer from a gypsy to go back to a life with Samantha in it, Mulder, a child psychologist, helps Scully, a PhD, get over her past.
You he did not fail by extraordinarily_ordinary (ao3)
Scully abruptly leaves TXF after surviving cancer and moves to LA to start anew. She is dating when Mulder is assigned as a profiler to a case she is working and they have to deal with things left undealt with.
Five years and a lifetime by @monikafilefan (ao3)
Mulder is a Peds psychiatrist. Scully is a Peds neurologist. They meet at a conference and have a one night stand. What happens when they come to work together 5 years later and Scully is a single mom?
Amish country by lolabeegood (gossamer)
Mulder and Scully go undercover in Amish country trying to catch a serial rapist while navigating very traditional values and roles.
You and me by lolabeegood (gossamer)
Mulder leaves his wealthy parents to serve under Scully’s father in the military. In order for her to stay safe, fed, and clothed she needs to marry.
The mountain man by aka Jake (gossamer)
Scully is sent from nyc (where she was becoming a doctor) to Montana at her father’s wishes. He wants her to marry a lieutenant under his command and not practice medicine, but she becomes intrigued with a local mountain man.
The countess/the earl by @slippinmickeys (ao3)
When scully is to be married to an old duke in order to save her family from financial ruin, a strange, alluring earl steps in to save her.
*Case*
There is nothing quite like a casefic. It's classic x-files and I am here for it. Writers in this fandom are so talented with their abilities to create a fic that rivals/trumps actual episodes.
Perchitor by @aloysiavirgata (ao3)
A little girl goes missing in the mountains with the superstition of Jenny Greenteeth to blame. Mulder and Scully investigate while navigating a new physical relationship.
Omens by @lepus-arcticus (ao3)
I read this one as a WIP and was anxiously checking for an update every night. There were several lines in this fic that made me gasp. Cancer arc angst. Give me it alllll.
XII by fragilevixen (ao3)
A killer that romanticizes every victim. His next target? Guess who. *coughSCULLYcough*
Hearts desire by malibusunset (ao3)
While in a small town scully runs into an old BF and starts wondering why she doesn’t prioritize her dating. She decides to go for it. The author makes me like Scully’s old flame. That says something. When the MSR convo finally does come, I thought I’d die from the slow burn.
Resurgam by opheila_interrupted (ao3)
One of the most xfiles like cases I have ever read. Remains unsolved at the end and has our agents investigating ghosts near Mulder’s hometown while dealing with their own (Emily & Teena).
Universal invariants/laws of motion by @syntax6
Scully is engaged to Ethan throughout the first season while her and Mulder’s relationship is deepening and then consummated right before she is abducted. How do two guys in love handle Scully’s abduction and what happens when she is returned?
All the way home/head over heels by @syntax6
Mulder is pulled into a past unsolved VCU case of a killer with a shoe fetish while navigating a new physical relationship with scully. When scully is targeted, Mulder has to gamble with his personal feelings while working to find the killer.
Queens gambit by Suzanne Schramm (gossamer)
Under Kersh, Mulder and Scully are assigned to a VCU case Mulder worked in Utah in 89’. The killer was put to death and then revenge began. Local mines and children involved.
*angst + romance*
This is my crux. Angst in any way, shape, or form. Add in some slow burn/ust and finally the rst *chefs kiss* particularly fond of Ethan fics and cancer arc.
Contact high by penumbra (gossamer)
Still feeling the residual effects of the spores post field trip, our agents try out Mulder’s new waterbed.
Early on by @sunflowerseedsandscience (ao3)
10 vignettes set during season 1. Our baby agents are becoming close, but Ethan is still around. How does scully navigate her relationship with Ethan while working with Mulder?
Center Mass by @kateyes224 (ao3)
Another Ethan fic set in season 1. Mulder and Scully make an effort to get to know one another… in more ways than one. And when Mulder gets aroused at Scully’s marksmanship it’s all over for me.
One blue line by sarie_fairy (ao3)
IVF arc. Scully is defeated by a negative pregnancy test. When Mulder tries to comfort her, she suggests having sex. I just remember wondering if I was reading or actually doing the act myself considering how detailed it was.
Salt by anjou (gossamer)
I remember reading this and being like WTF is happening to only have it all make sense at the end leaving me speechless.
Triptych by @iconicscullyoutfits (ao3)
My favorite FTF, post bee, how the f*ck did they get out of anarctica fic.

One of my favorite cancer arc fics. When Mulder confronts Scully 3 years later on the porch I literally stopped breathing.

The letter by Shalimar (gossamer)
Post TFWID, scully goes searching for more clues to her and Mulder’s past lives when she comes across a letter in a local Apison museum she sent to Mulder.
*smut + romance*
It's hard to have just smut when it comes to MSR, am I right? these two idiots are so in love that my smut category must also be romantic.
Undercover swing by 2momsmakearight (ao3)
What if Mulder and Scully go undercover as a married couple interested in swinging? Can they both keep their jealously in check?
Be kind, rewind by OnlyTheInevitable (ao3)
To help catch a suspect, skinner requests our agents watch porn together. While watching, conversation leads to critiques about the performance and comments about personal preferences.

Skinner reconciles with Sharon leading to a vow renewal celebration. Skinner asks mulder and Scully to stand with him as his best agents. After slow dancing together, mulder bolts out of the celebration before scully catches the bridal bouquet and he crosses a line. When they end up in an accident while driving in a storm, things come to a head in an Elvis inspired motel suite out in the middle of nowhere PA.

Imagining the Shane Gang + Junjie playing Lethal Company
Pronto's definitely the "Man in the Chair" (Ship Rat) - Navigating the crew and accidentally locking them out when he hears a sus noise outside
Eli is the defender - Always has a shovel or sign, if no other equipment is available. Has died about 8 times to snare fleas because he can't find his items afterwards and the others panic and run every time
Trixie & Kord are the loot runners/most paranoid - They always have flashlights, and at least one of them has a radio at all times so they can have Pronto (poorly) navigate. Often get chased by hoarding bugs because they find the nest and steal the items which makes the bugs very upset
Junjie the chill - Junjie is the guy who thinks the others are exaggerating about how scary the game is because he has literally never encountered the monsters. He's in and out easily, always the most profitable. The others spend days laughing after he's FINALLY killed by the Bracken

Standing Strong❗️Why I’m Speaking Up for Healthier Representation in Fandoms
Entry 1: Standing Firm in My Beliefs
As I embark on this journey with @AntiCedfiaWeek, I feel compelled to share my experiences and the motivations behind my blog. While it’s easy for some to dismiss our discussions as mere negativity, the truth is that we are engaging in important conversations about representation, age dynamics, and the implications of media portrayals—especially in a show like *Sofia the First*. Our goal is not to harass or belittle anyone, but to advocate for thoughtful engagement with the material that influences young audiences.
1. Misunderstandings in the Fandom Community
Recently, I've encountered misunderstandings that have left me both bewildered and disheartened. Accusations of harassment from users, including one named Trixie, have been particularly jarring. It’s frustrating to be labeled as a harasser when I have never even interacted with this person. I’ve simply been sharing my opinions and facts about the concerning age dynamics between Cedric and Sofia, and yet, here I am, faced with claims that I’m creating a hostile environment. This is not only inaccurate but damaging, as it shifts the focus away from the critical discussions that need to happen.
It’s essential to clarify that running an anti-Cedfia blog doesn’t mean I’m advocating for animosity. I’m merely highlighting the disparity in age between Cedric, an adult, and Sofia, a child—a dynamic that raises important questions about consent, power, and the messages we send to young viewers. I’ve always believed in the right to express my thoughts on this matter, and that right should not be overshadowed by misunderstandings or fear of backlash.
2. Advocating for Healthy Discussions
The intent behind my blog is to spark conversations rather than to incite conflict. I strive to provide a platform where fans can critically analyze character relationships without resorting to name-calling or personal attacks. The discussion surrounding fictional relationships is vital, especially when it involves complex themes that can impact real-life perspectives on relationships and boundaries.
I firmly believe that every fandom should be a safe space for expressing differing views. Constructive criticism should be welcomed, not met with hostility. When we encounter differing opinions, we have an opportunity to engage in dialogue that fosters understanding rather than division. I hope to model this approach through my writing, showing that it’s possible to challenge ideas while maintaining respect for those who hold different viewpoints.
3. The Emotional Toll of Online Interactions
Navigating the world of fandom on platforms like Tumblr can sometimes feel like walking a tightrope. While I cherish the friendships and discussions I’ve cultivated, I also recognize the emotional toll that negative interactions can take. The weight of being accused of harassment when I have done nothing to deserve it can be heavy, and it’s a struggle to maintain my passion in the face of adversity. However, I refuse to let this negativity define my experience or deter me from advocating for what I believe in. It’s crucial to remember that online interactions are often fraught with misunderstandings, and that can lead to unnecessary drama. I am committed to rising above these challenges and focusing on the core message of my blog: advocating for healthy representation and fostering dialogue that encourages critical thinking.
4. Finding Support in the Community
In these trying times, I find strength in the community I’ve built around this blog. I am grateful for the supportive friends who stand by me, reminding me that I am not alone in my beliefs. Their encouragement serves as a reminder that the fight for respectful dialogue and meaningful discourse is worth it. Each message of support fuels my passion and reinforces my commitment to this cause. Furthermore, I hope that by sharing my story and the challenges I face, others who feel marginalized in their opinions can find solace and courage. We all have a right to our voices, and together, we can create a community that values every opinion—especially those that challenge the status quo.
5. Looking ahead
As I continue this journey with @AntiCedfiaWeek, I’m filled with hope for what lies ahead. My mission remains clear: to advocate for discussions that promote healthy representations of relationships in media. I invite all of you to join me in this endeavor. Let’s uplift one another, engage in meaningful conversations, and ensure that our fandom remains a place where all voices can be heard and respected. Together, we can challenge harmful narratives and foster a space where fans can express their opinions freely and without fear of backlash. Thank you for being a part of this community, and let’s continue to support each other as we navigate these complex discussions.
Entry 2: Clarifying My Intentions
To be absolutely clear: I do not engage in personal attacks. My posts focus solely on the characters and the relationship dynamics within the show. The fact that I run an anti-Cedfia blog does not mean I hold any hatred toward those who see things differently. I simply believe that Cedric and Sofia’s age gap and relationship dynamic should be discussed, and I am willing to share my thoughts respectfully.
What has been hurtful is seeing how quickly people have assumed the worst about me. I've been labeled as someone who goes after other fans or tries to ruin their enjoyment of the show, but nothing could be further from the truth. I’ve received messages accusing me of targeting individuals and even a specific user named Trixie, but I’ve never spoken to this person or harassed them. These accusations are not only unfounded but seem to be based on stereotypes about anti-blogs rather than my actual actions.
Running @AntiCedfiaWeek is my way of expressing valid concerns. I’m here because I care about *Sofia the First* and want to create a space where these kinds of age-gap relationships in children’s media can be talked about openly. This fandom is filled with people who love the characters and storylines, and I respect that. But it feels unfair to be labeled as a bully just for sharing a different perspective.
I’m here for meaningful, respectful conversations, and I believe in allowing all sides to be heard. My intention has never been to shame or call out anyone, but simply to explain why this particular ship feels inappropriate. I believe fans should be able to have spaces for both positive and critical discussions, and @AntiCedfiaWeek is my space for the latter.
Seeing how quickly people have jumped to conclusions about my intentions has been both shocking and discouraging. I’ve even considered stepping away from the fandom because of the negativity, but I don’t want to let a few voices push me out. This blog means a lot to me, and I appreciate those who take the time to engage thoughtfully and respectfully. It’s my hope that we can continue discussing these characters without hostility.
Entry 3: The Importance of Facts and Evidence
As I continue to address the harassment I’ve been facing, I want to take a moment to explain why I hold my views on Cedric and Sofia’s relationship dynamic with clarity and transparency. For me, this is about taking a closer look at the messages media sends, especially to young audiences, and sharing valid concerns that are often overlooked. I believe it’s crucial to base discussions on facts and evidence—things we can observe about these characters and their roles within the show. By sharing this, I hope others can understand that my position is reasoned, thoughtful, and not meant to attack or diminish anyone else’s perspective.
1. Age Difference and Power Imbalance
First and foremost, the age difference between Cedric and Sofia is undeniable. Cedric is portrayed as a fully grown adult, perhaps in his late twenties or even thirties, whereas Sofia is a young girl around the age of 8. This disparity alone is enough to raise concerns about the nature of their interactions. Relationships that involve large age gaps, especially where one individual is a minor, come with an inherent power imbalance. Cedric, as an adult, has access to experiences, knowledge, and authority that Sofia, as a child, has yet to develop.
When people ignore or downplay these factors, I believe it creates a dangerous precedent in how we perceive relationships in media, particularly media aimed at younger viewers. I’m not saying every viewer will misinterpret their relationship, but for those who look deeper or for children who don’t yet understand these dynamics, it can send a mixed message about what’s appropriate. It’s important for us to acknowledge these nuances and advocate for boundaries that reflect age-appropriate interactions, especially when younger characters are involved.
2. The Context of Cedric’s Role in the Story
Cedric is not a character who exists to support or uplift Sofia. In fact, he often has his own complex motivations and struggles, some of which directly contradict Sofia’s journey as a young princess learning responsibility and kindness. While he does occasionally assist her, his intentions are often layered with self-interest and personal ambition. Sofia, on the other hand, is still learning about trust, friendship, and loyalty.
By shipping these characters, the dynamic shifts to something that could potentially undermine Sofia’s growth and development. Instead of seeing her as a young girl finding her place in the world, the narrative focuses on her relationship with an adult whose goals do not align with her own. In a way, it robs Sofia of her agency, framing her as part of a pairing rather than a standalone character who deserves the chance to grow independently. Cedric, too, deserves to be viewed as a complex character with individual growth, not just as one half of an age-inappropriate pairing.
3. Real-World Implications of Depicting Age-Inappropriate Relationships
When a children’s show introduces interactions that could be interpreted romantically between adults and children, it’s essential to consider the impact. Children are impressionable and often emulate the characters they admire. For some viewers, especially younger ones, seeing adults and children treated as romantic counterparts can normalize dynamics that, in real life, are inappropriate. The idea of an adult and a minor as equals in a romantic context is not only unrealistic—it’s potentially harmful.
Media has a responsibility to depict relationships in a way that is both respectful and age-appropriate, and when fans question these portrayals, it is often because they want to protect younger viewers from exposure to potentially confusing narratives. As someone who values healthy depictions in media, my concern is that shows like *Sofia the First* should be careful with these interactions and avoid romantic implications that may mislead or blur appropriate boundaries.
4. Cultural Responsibility and Media Impact
There is a wider conversation happening in society about the responsibility of creators to avoid problematic portrayals in media, particularly those aimed at children. We live in a time when people are increasingly aware of how certain relationships and character dynamics influence our collective understanding of what is appropriate. By speaking out on this blog, I am joining others who believe in fostering responsible media for younger audiences.
People often dismiss anti-blogs as “hate accounts,” but that perception overlooks the core of what I’m trying to do here. I’m not attacking the fans of this ship—I’m asking questions about the impact of these dynamics. This isn’t a baseless or negative stance; it’s a call for thoughtful analysis of how these characters are portrayed and what messages might come across.
5. Moving Beyond Misconceptions and Building Understanding
I know there are strong attachments within the fandom to these characters and that some people genuinely enjoy Cedric and Sofia’s interactions. I don’t intend to take that away from anyone. What I do want is to open a space where we can critically examine the implications of certain ships without judgment or hostility. It’s okay to disagree; in fact, fandom thrives when there are diverse voices and perspectives. But I also believe that sharing concerns like mine shouldn’t automatically invite accusations or harassment.
I’ve seen so many passionate, thoughtful members of this fandom who love discussing their favorite characters, and I hope those who follow this blog can appreciate that I’m not here to “ruin” anyone’s enjoyment. Rather, I’m hoping we can approach these stories with a deeper sense of what they represent, especially for younger viewers. By respectfully discussing boundaries and age-appropriate relationships, we’re helping to create a healthier fandom that can appreciate *Sofia the First* while also being aware of the importance of character dynamics.
Thank you for listening and showing support
To everyone who has read this far, thank you for taking the time to understand my perspective. This blog is a labor of love for me, and every thoughtful message or show of support means the world. I know not everyone will agree, but if we can foster a fandom space where respect for all viewpoints is encouraged, we’ll have succeeded in creating something positive.
This blog will continue to stand for safe, age-appropriate discussions of the characters we love. And I appreciate each of you who respects that and offers compassion in return. It’s hard to stay true to a perspective that not everyone understands, but with supporters like you, I know I’m not alone in wanting what’s best for this fandom and for the stories we care about.
Entry 3: The Importance of Facts and Evidence (continued)
6. Addressing Misinformation About @AntiCedfiaWeek
One of the most frustrating parts of running this blog is seeing misinformation circulate about what @AntiCedfiaWeek truly represents. Some people assume that just because I’m vocal against the Cedfia pairing, I must be on a mission to harass or call out those who support it. But the reality is very different. I am not here to shame anyone personally, nor do I use this blog to track or harass individual fans. It’s disheartening to see the assumptions made about me simply because I chose to voice concerns over this ship.
In fact, many of my posts simply present factual observations about the show and character dynamics. I avoid names, direct confrontations, or even generalizations that could be seen as attacking fans personally. I’ve been careful to make sure my posts remain focused on the characters and the narrative, not on individual people in the fandom. Unfortunately, it seems some individuals have overlooked these efforts and continue to view this blog as an “attack” platform, which couldn’t be further from the truth.
7. Emphasizing Respectful Discussion Over Conflict.
At the heart of @AntiCedfiaWeek is the belief that we can have open, honest discussions without turning to conflict or personal attacks. Fandoms, especially for children’s media, should ideally be spaces where people can share different perspectives without feeling bullied or misrepresented. I have seen blogs that focus solely on “pro” perspectives, and I respect that; they have every right to express their views. My hope is that my blog can serve as a respectful “anti” space, offering another side of the conversation while respecting others who think differently.
This fandom has the potential to be welcoming and diverse, a place where people can openly share thoughts and interpretations. I believe there’s room for both sides in this fandom—as long as we keep things respectful. What makes fandom enjoyable is that we can all share and learn from each other, and my intent has always been to add a constructive voice to the discussion. My hope is that more people will see this blog as a place to reflect on these character relationships without feeling that I am here to tear down anyone’s enjoyment of the show.
8. Why This Blog Matters to Me
Running this blog has been more than just a way to voice concerns; it’s a way to stay engaged with a show that, despite my criticisms, I do appreciate. *Sofia the First* has many positive elements—its messages of kindness, courage, and learning—and that’s a big part of why I want to address its dynamics. I believe in the power of stories to shape young minds, and part of my dedication to this blog comes from wanting those stories to reflect values of respect and boundaries.
When I see people dismiss or belittle concerns over age-inappropriate relationships, it reinforces why this blog is important. We need to be able to speak up about issues we see in media without fear of harassment or silencing. I believe this kind of discussion is not only valid but necessary, especially when we’re dealing with characters that younger audiences admire. This blog matters because it represents a voice for those who also have concerns but may be hesitant to speak up. I want this to be a space where others can feel validated in their own discomfort with certain ships and dynamics.
9. For the Supporters Who Have Stood by Me
To those who have reached out with messages of understanding and support, I want to say thank you. Every kind message reminds me that I’m not alone in this fandom and that there are others who see the value in having conversations like this. Your words mean so much, especially when things get tough. Knowing that there are people who support respectful, thoughtful discussion makes it easier to stay here and keep posting.
For those who have come forward with similar experiences, thank you for sharing them with me. I know it’s not always easy to speak up, and I appreciate every person who has taken the time to express solidarity. It gives me strength to know that this blog resonates with others, even if we’re a smaller voice in the fandom. Your support is a reminder that the discussions we’re having here are meaningful, even if they’re sometimes challenging.
Moving Forward with Respect and Understanding
As I move forward with @AntiCedfiaWeek, my goal is to stay true to my purpose and keep this space a respectful, factual resource for those who want to explore the reasons behind my stance on Cedfia. I’m not here to force anyone to agree with me; I’m simply sharing a perspective that I believe is important. Whether or not others agree, I hope they can see that my intentions are sincere, grounded in evidence, and driven by a genuine concern for the messages we pass on to young viewers.
In the end, this blog isn’t about hate or harassment. It’s about responsible storytelling, thoughtful discussion, and respecting boundaries within a fandom. Thank you again to those who understand where I’m coming from and who believe in respectful dialogue. Your support keeps me grounded and helps me remember that there’s a place for all of us in this fandom, as long as we approach each other with kindness.
Entry 4: Breaking Down the Misconceptions Surrounding @AntiCedfiaWeek
As I continue to address the misconceptions and unfair assumptions about @AntiCedfiaWeek, I want to take a closer look at the core beliefs that guide this blog, as well as the misunderstandings that have led to some painful accusations. Running an anti-Cedfia blog doesn’t mean I’m against the fandom, nor does it mean I’m here to shame or harass those who feel differently. In fact, my goal has always been the opposite—to foster a thoughtful conversation about media and age-appropriate boundaries, particularly in shows that are aimed at young audiences.
With that in mind, I’d like to break down some of the key misconceptions I’ve encountered and clarify what this blog stands for.
1. Misconception: Anti-Cedfia Means Anti-Fandom
One of the most common misconceptions I see is that anti-Cedfia automatically means “anti-fandom,” as if criticizing this one ship somehow undermines the entire community. This couldn’t be further from the truth. I care deeply about *Sofia the First*, which is precisely why I take the time to post about it. Fandoms are, at their best, spaces where people can express both admiration and critique, and just because I have concerns about one aspect of the show doesn’t mean I dislike it as a whole. On the contrary, I believe that engaging critically with a show often demonstrates a deeper level of care.
Fandoms are diverse spaces by nature, and they should be able to hold different viewpoints, including critiques. Being anti-Cedfia isn’t about “hating” the show or the people who enjoy it. It’s about expressing a viewpoint rooted in the belief that certain dynamics, especially those involving significant age gaps and potential power imbalances, deserve closer examination. I’m here because I respect this fandom and want to create a space where these issues can be addressed thoughtfully.
2. Misconception: Criticism Equals Harassment
Another common assumption is that any criticism is automatically an act of harassment. I want to be very clear—at no point have I used this blog to send hateful messages, call out individuals, or target anyone personally. The content here is focused on character dynamics and fictional portrayals, not on attacking people who enjoy those portrayals. However, I’ve found that just by voicing a different opinion, I’ve been labeled as aggressive or confrontational. It’s upsetting to be accused of things I’ve never done, simply because I run a blog that goes against popular opinions.
True harassment involves unwanted, targeted communication meant to intimidate or harm another person. What I’m doing on @AntiCedfiaWeek is sharing an opinion, and I’m careful to keep it about the characters, not the people who might ship them. I don’t send messages to individual users, nor do I make posts that single out others by name. I’m here to discuss fictional relationships, and I have never, nor will I ever, cross the line into personal harassment.
3. Misconception: Anti-Blogs Lack Validity
It’s disheartening to see the way “anti-blogs” are dismissed as automatically negative or hateful. Being anti-something doesn’t inherently mean being disrespectful or hostile. Anti-blogs can provide critical perspectives, and they often serve as a space for people to voice concerns or discomfort with certain aspects of a fandom. I’ve chosen to focus my blog on Cedfia because I believe it’s a ship that deserves careful consideration, particularly because of the target age group of *Sofia the First*. Just because a blog is “anti” doesn’t mean it lacks validity; it simply means that it offers a different lens through which to view the content.
It’s okay to hold different views in fandom, and there’s room for both “pro” and “anti” perspectives. Anti-blogs can bring balance by challenging us to think critically and consider alternative interpretations. I think we could have a healthier, more open fandom environment if anti-blogs were seen not as antagonistic but as a valuable part of the conversation. After all, constructive criticism is often a sign of passion, not negativity.
4. Evidence-Based Concerns: Why This Blog Exists
My criticisms are not random or based on personal vendettas; they’re rooted in observations of the characters and relationships portrayed in *Sofia the First*. Cedric is an adult character with his own storyline, ambitions, and motives, while Sofia is a child learning about friendship, responsibility, and compassion. Their age difference alone introduces a power imbalance that could be problematic if interpreted romantically. It’s important to consider how these portrayals might impact viewers, particularly young children who may not fully understand the nuances of adult relationships.
In many ways, *Sofia the First* is a teaching tool for young viewers, imparting lessons about kindness, courage, and responsibility. Pairing an adult and a child, even hypothetically, runs counter to the show’s positive messages and could lead to misunderstandings about age-appropriate relationships. I’ve chosen to focus my blog on Cedfia because it stands out as a pairing that, if romanticized, could blur lines that should remain clear in children’s media. For me, this is less about the fandom and more about advocating for responsible storytelling.
5. Why I Believe in the Right to Critique
Some people might wonder why I’m so passionate about this subject, and the answer is simple: media shapes our perceptions. As fans, we have every right to engage with content in ways that feel meaningful to us, including through constructive critique. The idea that fans shouldn’t question or critique certain relationships within media feels limiting. I believe everyone in the fandom should have the freedom to explore their own perspectives, whether they’re “pro” or “anti” a particular ship.
It’s important to remember that critique isn’t inherently negative. Asking questions about the media we consume helps us understand it better and can lead to more nuanced conversations. In many ways, critique is a way of showing respect for a work—it means we see its potential, and we want to engage with it on a deeper level. My blog is a way for me to express my concerns while still appreciating what *Sofia the First* offers as a show. Being a fan doesn’t mean blindly agreeing with every aspect of a story; it means caring enough to consider its impact thoughtfully.
Entry 5: Finding Strength in Community: A Heartfelt Reflection
As I continue to navigate the complexities of running @AntiCedfiaWeek, I feel it’s essential to take a moment to reflect on the incredible community surrounding this blog. The conversations I’ve had, both publicly and privately, have reinforced the idea that we are not just a collection of individual voices but a vibrant tapestry woven together by shared interests, passions, and concerns. This entry is dedicated to exploring the importance of community in fostering respectful dialogue, understanding differing perspectives, and standing together against the tides of negativity that can sometimes permeate online spaces.
1. The Power of Supportive Friends
Throughout this journey, I have been fortunate to have amazing friends who have offered their unwavering support, both emotionally and intellectually. These friends remind me of the importance of resilience and the power of solidarity in the face of misunderstanding and accusation. It’s easy to feel isolated when negativity surrounds you, but my friends have been a lifeline, helping me remember why I started this blog in the first place. Their encouragement reminds me that I am not alone in my beliefs or my mission to foster critical discussions about relationships in media.
The supportive community I’ve found isn’t just about agreeing with my viewpoints; it’s about engaging in meaningful discourse. When I receive messages from friends expressing their understanding of my perspective, it validates my efforts to speak out against harmful dynamics in media representations. This support helps me stay grounded, knowing that there are others who share my concerns and values.
2. Building Bridges, Not Walls
One of the most challenging aspects of running an anti-Cedfia blog has been encountering individuals who automatically assume that criticism equates to hostility. I’ve come to realize that building bridges is vital in creating an environment where all voices can be heard, even when those voices differ. Instead of viewing differing opinions as divisive, I strive to see them as opportunities for growth and understanding.
It’s essential to recognize that everyone comes to fandom with their own experiences and perspectives, shaped by their unique backgrounds and identities. By embracing this diversity, we can have more meaningful conversations about why certain portrayals in media matter and how they affect us as viewers. I hope that by fostering open dialogue, we can dismantle the walls that often arise from misunderstandings and create a space where healthy debate can flourish.
3. Embracing Compassion in Discourse
In every conversation I’ve had on this blog, I have tried to emphasize compassion and empathy. It’s crucial to approach discussions about sensitive topics with care and thoughtfulness. When we talk about relationships between characters, especially those involving significant age differences or power dynamics, it’s important to consider how these portrayals can impact young viewers.
By embracing compassion in our discourse, we not only elevate our conversations but also demonstrate that it’s possible to disagree without being disagreeable. My goal has always been to express my concerns while remaining respectful of those who may not share my views. Engaging in constructive dialogue requires us to listen actively and recognize the validity of different perspectives, even when we might not agree.
4. The Role of Evidence in Our Conversations
As I’ve shared previously, my critiques of the Cedric and Sofia dynamic are based on careful consideration of the characters and their circumstances within *Sofia the First*. I’ve aimed to provide factual evidence and thoughtful analysis to support my points, believing that this approach adds weight to the discussions we have. When we ground our conversations in evidence, we elevate the dialogue beyond mere opinion and foster a culture of informed critique. In doing so, I encourage my readers to think critically about what they consume in media and how it shapes their understanding of relationships. This isn’t about demonizing anyone or shaming those who ship Cedfia; it’s about inviting everyone to reflect on why certain portrayals matter and how they can influence perceptions of age-appropriate relationships. By engaging with evidence, we can collectively work toward creating a fandom that values thoughtful discourse.
5. Thank You to My Amazing Friends and Supporters
As I conclude this entry, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. I couldn’t do this without my amazing friends and supporters who have rallied around me, offering encouragement and understanding through every step of this journey. Your kindness and compassion have inspired me to keep going, even when the road gets rocky.
To those who have reached out to share their own experiences or to discuss the topics I’ve raised on this blog, thank you for being a part of this community. Your voices matter, and your willingness to engage in these conversations makes a difference. Together, we can create an environment where all opinions are respected, and constructive criticism is welcomed.
I believe in the power of fandom as a space for dialogue, creativity, and growth. Let’s continue to uplift one another, champion open-mindedness, and foster a community that celebrates our shared love for *Sofia the First* while also holding it to the standards it deserves. Here’s to more discussions, more understanding, and more compassion as we navigate the complexities of our fandom together.
Our voices matter, and together, we can shape fandom spaces into places that champion respect, critical thinking, and the courage to stand up for what’s right.

CtM CS 2023 first rewatch and further thoughts
early foreshadowing for Mr. Sharma: he says "I can find my own way." he's clearly referring to his navigator skills.
Angela's teacher promised her "house points" for making the scrap book. Can somebody tell me if "house points" is a common thing for teachers to use? I've only encountered the term in fiction books.
Fred calling Angela treacle was very sweet. Now that I think about it, Fred probably sees more of the Turner children than of his own grandchildren, or Violet's. He always organising something for the kids in the neighbourhood, from running the cubs to joining the bus ride to see the Christmas lights and sending his paper boys to the clinic for working children, and now he's the lollipop man. Good on him!
Tim passing his driving test reminded me of the giant bills I've been paying in the last few months for my kid going to driving school. And then I noticed that Shelagh still does not drive. Chummy learned and Sister Winifred and I'm sure by now Delia has taught Patsy as well. On the other hand, Patrick is always using the car, Shelagh would have to get her own vehicle if she wants to drive.
Meanwhile, Miss Higgins is aquiring new premises for the clinic, and shows her best no-nonsense attitude while the badminton match is going on behind her. It's hilarious.
Sister Monica Joan is not impressed by Apollo
her complaint about Patrick is exquisite: "Can you not remove this man? He seems to be pleading the case for eternal life."
Trixie in her hostess gown! Opinions? I like the gown better than her new hairdo.
Matthew cooking a festive dinner for them - good on him!
Geoffrey! So much to unpack there, he'll get his own post. What's his profession again? something with the expat community in Malta?
Brenda and Toni together in the maternity home, being honest but kind and sharing their fears, that is just beautiful. Having family around is lovely, but the kind of support and understanding that young mothers can give each other is really one of a kind.
Mr. Sharma in the hospital deserved more real attention instead of just well-meaning words from the staff, so they could maybe have lessened his fear and avoided his running off out through the snow without understanding why he's feeling so unwell. Without Cyril's patient kindness and the respectful trust he established this could have gone much worse.
Filming in the ambulance must have been exhausting. Birth scenes are always strenuous, but with three or four adults and several babies in the cramped space, I don't fancy being the cameraperson. The only other mother in labour who had Patrick sitting behind her as support was Shelagh, so Brenda is expertly looked after at this point.
What kind of care did the specialist give to Brenda during her pregnancy? apart from that one palpation he's just parading around and celebrating what he sees as his own achievments, when the development of fertility drugs is a joint effort of many people and the mothers are bearing most of the actual load.
I've noticed Nancy is more comfortable now reassuring mothers who share some of her experiences. Having a safe space to live together with Colette has given her calm and happiness.
I've had a two-hour-drive today in the dark and I did not like it. Phyllis driving home in pain through the snow makes me want to reach through the screen and pick up her car like a toy and place it safely in front on Nonnatus house. Glad to see her snapping many, many photos at the Christmas party.
Tim at the church organ made me smile. The entire scene is magical, brimming with detail, and everyone playing their parts proudly. Apart from maybe baby Mark, who was not quite aware of the backstory.

Imma rant about my Symbiote!Feenie au for a bit:
Also, since the au takes place after prison of plastic:
PRISON OF PLASTIC SPOILERS BELOW!!!!
I imagine that she willingly keeps the symbiote for a good while considering how fast she became friends with Rick only moments after meeting him. It's not hard to earn her trust
She tells Molly and Trixie about "Elixir" as soon as she can because of her trust with them. While both of them are rightfully cautious, they don’t take action as Phoenica seems mostly fine with it and even protective of the thing to a rather concerning degree. But nevertheless, they both do keep a watchful eye out. Well, mostly Trixie since Molly currently lives with Giovanni and Crusher
It's rather difficult for her to navigate around her life with it because of it's weakness to certain sound frequencies. She's managed to get a better handle on it rather quickly and hide her pain at the sound of a school bell, but she does still feel pain regardless.
But even outside of that, Trixie can't help but notice something odd about Phoenica. She starts referring to herself with plural pronouns like "We" and "I", which seems odd since Phoenica never used them when only referring to herself before, but it's small enough for Trixie to not ponder on it for long. Phoenica had a weird amount of strength and nearly ripped a door off its hinges by accident, which was a little harder to disregard.
But what they couldn't dismiss was Phoenica’s strange care for that...thing. It wasn't unusual for Phoenica to automatically trust others, but she took it to an extremely not normal even to her. She spends almost every moment with it, and when Trixie had tried to talk to her about it, she just said: "It makes us a better Magical Girl!" but it wasn't even teaching her magic, just how to use its weird powers some more.
Trixie didn't know what was going on with Feenie, but they were getting to the bottom of it

WHO: Trixie Vos and Lance Cerulli ( @backmaskcd )
SUMMARY: Trixie and Lance promised to have an actual conversation about their relationship. This is that conversation.
TRIGGER WARNINGS: References to alcoholism, sex-as-coping-mechanism, and a smidge of horniness
It wasn't often that TRIXIE voluntarily spent an evening sitting with her emotions, but that was exactly what she had done the night before—she had sat down with a cup of tea and a notebook and really thought about how she felt. What she wanted. What she expected. What she was worried about. As difficult and uncomfortable as that had been for her, she was grateful for it now as she curled up on the couch with her hands in her lap, silently running through her notes in her head.
"You know, after we agreed to have a proper conversation about us, I realised that I never actually asked you how you feel about me," she started, glancing down as she idly played with her own hands. "But I also haven't fully expressed how I feel about you. So I'd like to start with that." She took a deep breath and looked back up at him. "I love you. I love you and I'm in love with you. I had to practice saying that without stuttering my way through it, but here I am, and I'm saying it, and I'm in love with you. And you're right." She continued fiddling nervously with her hands. "That does scare me."
Sitting across from Trixie had never been uncomfortable - and while that's not how LANCE would describe the way he felt now, it certainly held more weight than any past conversations did.
"You didn't," he started, but didn't want to completely derail her when it seemed like she'd already geared up to go first. At her admission of practice, Lance couldn't help but smile a little. "Of course you did." He shook his head slightly. "I know you better than most people, Trixie. That's why I never pushed you, or told you how I felt." He paused for a moment. "I like you a lot. I do love you, and I need you to listen to me before you completely freak out again. I know I can be in love with you - but I'm not there yet. I couldn't let myself fully fall in love with you if I thought you were going to bolt the minute you saw it on my face. You're not hard to love; but I'm just as scared of getting hurt, too. I want to fall head over heels in love with you, and if you let me, I'd like to do what with you instead of at you." He frowned a little. "Does that make sense? I just - I think us being together in a more defined way would be the first step."
"You know me better than anyone," TRIXIE admitted. It wasn't that her siblings didn't also know her very well, but Lance had lived with her for years, had seen her practically every day, and that kind of exposure to another person was difficult to rival. When he spoke, there was a brief second of sheer panic in her eyes, but he asked her to listen before completely freaking out; and because it was him, she did.
"It makes sense," she reassured him with a small nod. "And I want to. I want to let you, and I want us to be together. I am scared, but... I'm a lot more scared of hurting you than I am of getting hurt myself." She paused to consider her next words. "I don't mean that in a self-deprecating way. What I mean is that the roles of 'person who helps you with your sobriety' and 'person you are in a romantic relationship with' are both very important and can sometimes be at odds with each other. And I don't think that's impossible for us to navigate, but I do think it has to be done purposefully, you know?" She took a deep breath. "I also think that us both having family around helps. You and I were basically each other's only support system for a long time, and that's... A lot. To put on a new relationship."
No matter who LANCE was having this conversation with, he needed to navigate it carefully; but it was important that it was Trixie. He felt bad. She deserved his love. But as he explained, he was fairly certain she understood where he was coming from and why he hadn't been able to fully let himself fall for her.
"I'd like us to be together, too." He paused for a moment before sheepishly admitting, "I was really jealous. When you told me Ven was here. I got... worried. That maybe this thing that was happening between us would fizzle out." He chewed on his lower lip in thought. "I'm not sure... I'm wondering if you should be both. I know you can, because you're stubborn. But maybe it's not fair of me to ask you to be both. It's your decision either way, but I really want you to think about it. I don't want to put you in a position where you feel like you can't be something you want to be because I'm putting you in between a rock and a hard place." Another pause. "It's a little different. I don't let my siblings support me the way you let yours do. I feel guilty. But I'm trying to find someone else to lean on other than you all the time. You already filled that role for me for the longest time. I want to try something new now."
TRIXIE felt a small smile tugging at her lips at his admission of jealousy. Not because she wanted Lance to be jealous, but because the way he expressed himself was endearing to her, and it made her want to reach out and pull him close. But she knew that if she did that, she wouldn't be able to focus on having the conversation that they needed to have. "I had a feeling that was why you kept asking about him," she admitted in return. "I don't know if you're still worried about that, but just to be safe... I meant everything I said then. About the right person being someone who makes you want to try even when it's hard. For me, you are that person."
She paused, thinking over his words carefully, before slowly nodding. "I can be both, but I don't think I can be both one hundred percent of the time," Trixie reasoned. "And I'd rather be your girlf... Your g..." She grimaced slightly, a soft chuckle slipping out, knowing full well how ridiculous it was that she couldn't even say the word. "I'd rather be with you than be your sober companion. I'm probably always going to be a little of both, but I do think it would make me feel better if I know I can prioritise being one over the other." She paused, and this time when she felt like reaching out for him, she did—gently taking one of his hands in hers. "I'm not going to tell you what you should or should not let your siblings do. You are still first and foremost my friend, and you'll always have me to lean on, but... I like where this is going. You and me. And I want to be able to commit to that without being scared of dropping the ball elsewhere."
"Worried isn't exactly the right word," LANCE protested, a soft flush across his face. "It's not that I don't believe you - it's just weird when someone you were very serious about suddenly shows up. I don't know how to feel, and I know you wouldn't lie to me, but it doesn't make the situation any more clear."
He bit back a smile as Trixie tried and failed to say she wanted to be his girlfriend. Baby steps. "You're so fucking cute, you know that?" He had to interrupt, leaning in to give her a brief kiss; not quite chaste, but determined enough to keep it to just that one. "You can be whatever feels right. It's not fair to say I'm not a risk - especially since part of this whole thing kicked off because I was worried I'd start drinking just to feel something - but I'm a lot better than I was back when I was first trying to get sober. You can be more of whatever you want to be instead of more my sober companion." He gently squeezed her hand. "I like where this is going too. My siblings... it's different. You're the middle kid. I only have younger siblings and then Eric which is... a work in progress. But I've also got my AA group, don't forget." He paused for a moment. "You're my friend first and foremost, too. You don't need to be scared of dropping anything but my feelings for the foreseeable future."
TRIXIE nodded. "It might be something that can only really be resolved by time," she mused, and while she did not like the idea of not being able to do something now to make him feel better, she knew that it was simply something she might have to accept. "You know, Ven and I met in college. I've known you for twice as long as I knew him. And I'm more than twice as serious about you now than I was about him then."
It almost surprised her how easily she admitted to that; but she knew that she meant it when she said it, and she hoped that Lance did too. She felt her cheeks flush from the kiss, instinctively chasing after him when he pulled away, before catching herself and pulling back as well. "You are a lot better," she agreed with a small smile, squeezing his hand back. "I'm always going to worry about you, but that's because I care about you, not because I don't trust you. I trust you to lean on the people in your AA group. And I trust you to be honest with me if you're struggling." She paused. "Speaking of risk, I... I do recognise what a big risk you took in addressing the elephant in the room first. And I know I'll probably need to move things forward for a while because you are, rightfully, worried that I'll freak out if you do. I accept that. I don't think it'll be easy, but you're worth it to me."
Admittedly, her telling him that did make him feel better. Trixie was always so guarded, and any moment LANCE could get her to open up and say something deeply genuine, he counted as a win - even if it was over his insecurity surrounding her ex boyfriend.
His smile widened when Trixie tried to keep the kiss going, but he opted not to address it. "I know. You saw me at my worst. I expect that you'll always worry about me because you know how bad it can get." Lance bit the inside of his cheek as Trixie continued, nodding very slightly. "Yes. I appreciate you want to know how I feel about things, or you, but it's.... hard for me. To convince myself to open up like that when I've seen how scared you get of it. I don't - I don't want you thinking I'm placing the whole pace of this on you, or that I'm blaming you for anything. I just need you to recognize that because of the way you react, I can't take the traditional first steps I would in any other situation. It doesn't mean I don't care about or for you, you know." He flushed a little, picking at the hem of his shirt. "That's really sweet, Trix."
"It's okay, I don't think that you're placing everything on me, or blaming me," TRIXIE reassured him, lifting her free hand up to briefly cup his face. There was a soft smile on her lips as she brushed his cheek with her thumb. "And I know that you care about me. Because you know what I'm like and you still took that risk. Because you can see me struggle to say the word girlf—girl—goddamnit." She ran her hand through her hair and chuckled. "You said that I can be whatever feels right. I'm committed to you, Lance. I want the label. I want to be able to say it, I want to be able to scream it from the rooftops, but clearly, I'm struggling a little with that." She sighed. "I wouldn't mind if you did. But I know you won't until I do. And I accept that as well."
LANCE often spent so much of his time worrying about how people would react, he didn't actually give them the chance to do it. He was so anxious that Trixie would feel like she's the only reason this relationship couldn't work, he barely focused on the fact that Trixie was well aware that she told him everything about how she'd run from every past relationship. "I can; and it's very cute," he pulled her in for another kiss, this one a little longer; but he was determined to stay on track. "You're worth the risk to me, too. That's.... Why I keep sleeping with you," Lance admitted. "After the first time.... I don't know. I knew something shifted. But I didn't want to say it because I liked the way it felt. Not the sex - though no complaints there - but it just felt really nice. To be close to you like that."
TRIXIE felt her cheeks go an even brighter shade of red when he repeated that he thought it was cute. She was about to protest when Lance's lips collided with hers, and she let out a soft noise of surprise before kissing him back eagerly, looking a little dazed when they broke apart again. "I should be used to how that makes me feel by now and yet," she mumbled, shyly dropping her gaze and waiting for her face to stop burning. Clearing her throat, she looked back up at him with a small smile. "I felt it too," she admitted. "It was different with you. And I kind of knew I had feelings for you when I realised that I kept wanting to be close to you like that, not to run away from whatever issues I have that I don't want to deal with, but just... Just because. Just because I wanted to." She paused. "I don't think I have the healthiest relationship with casual sex. I told you that once, that I pretend like I'm having fun but I'm not, I just feel empty. And I don't want to feel empty anymore. I want to feel like I do with you." She took a deep breath. "I guess this is my way of telling you that I'm not going to be sleeping with anyone else. I know you're in your whole sober slut era, so if you want to keep doing that, I... I'm okay with that. I want monogamy but I don't need it."
"I know what you mean," LANCE admitted. "I feel like my temperature rises every time you kiss me, and like my heart is gonna beat out of my chest." He bit back a smile as she kept talking, feeling a strange sense of pride while Trixie picked herself apart - but in a more productive way than he was used to. "You don't - but it wasn't really my place to say anything before. You had to figure that out." Both his eyebrows raised at her last statement however. "I - Trixie." Lance gave her what could best be described as a disappointed brother face. "I don't want to start whatever this is like this. If we're going to trust each other and open up to each other, that includes setting boundaries. If you don't want me sleeping with other people, even if you can't say what label we have yet, but are willing to acknowledge we have something more than friendship here? Say it. I'm not going to react badly to it. Yeah. I just started it, but I'll find something else to keep me busy. It's not like trading alcohol for sex was the smartest choice I've ever made."
TRIXIE did her best to shy away from cheesy metaphors for infatuation, but when Lance described what it felt like when she kissed him, she could have sworn it felt exactly like butterflies were fluttering in her stomach. With a smile, she leaned forward and kissed him again, running her hand through his hair and then all but forcing herself to pull back so that they could finish their conversation. She knew that what they were talking about was important and she was determined to do things the right way between them. If there had ever been a time for her to learn how to approach a relationship with honesty, and with trust, it was with Lance. "I do mean it when I say I'm okay with it," she started, before taking a deep breath and nodding. "But yeah, you're right. I would prefer if you didn't. I'm not trying to be like, possessive or anything, I just... I think I would be more comfortable if we were exclusive. I like it just being us."
LANCE loved the way Trixie's fingers felt in his hair. If he was being transparent, he just loved the way it felt when she touched him full stop. He was trying not to smile too widely when it was easy for him to tell that it took a lot of effort for Trixie to cut off the kiss before it turned into something more. "That's better," he playfully tipped her chin up to give her a soft kiss. "It doesn't make you sound possessive, Trix. It makes you sound like someone who wants to have an exclusive relationship. That's normal. Really. I like it just being us, too."
TRIXIE felt her cheeks flush again when he tilted her chin up and kissed her. There was a light, giddy feeling in her chest, and she didn't know what else to do with it other than let out a soft giggle. "I'm sorry, I'm just—I'm happy," she said, sounding surprised by her own statement. It didn't surprise her that Lance made her happy. She was just unused to the feeling in general. "I'm happy we're in an... exclusive... relationship." She sounded out the words slowly, but she did at least manage to say them, which she took as a win. "Us. You and me. Me and you. We're in a relationship."
If it were anyone else, LANCE probably would have made a borderline condescending comment; it was just his sense of humor. However, it was Trixie, and he knew what a big deal this was to her. "I'm happy too," he gently tucked some of her hair behind her ear. "We are in a relationship. And I'm in it for the long haul, so just please, talk to me if you're feeling overwhelmed or scared. You've always been there for me when I needed you. So let me return the favor. Let me be the one to reassure you when you're convinced the entire world is about to crash down around you."
TRIXIE took a deep breath. She wouldn't say that she wasn't scared, but she was a lot less scared than she thought she would be, and a lot of that had to do with how much she trusted Lance. She believed him when he said that he was in it for the long haul. She believed that he could reassure her in a way nobody else could. "Okay," she said, nodding slowly. "I think I can do that. I want to do that." She briefly dropped her gaze before looking back up at him with a small smile. "The entire world crashing down around me doesn't seem so scary when I'm with you."
"That's all I ask," LANCE gently reassured her. And it was. There was very little he actually needed from her. She'd been the most dedicated friend he'd ever had for the last seven years. The progression from best friends to lovers seemed so obvious, and yet somehow had blindsided them both. "I think we deserve a reward for actually talking about our feelings instead of ripping all our clothes off instead," he paused before giving her a look that was something between mischievous and bashful. "I suggest that reward be ripping all our clothes off."

Would you care to recommend a cat puzzle or two? A friend of mine has a new kitten who needs ~spoiling~ entertaining
Sure! Even a small kitten could start learning the easier parts of these boards.
1) "Bugging out" has 2 types of sliders, great for hiding crunchy treats:
https://www.nina-ottosson.com/products/all-products/bugginout-puzzle-play-cat-puzzle-game.html
2) And this "fun board" by Trixie is good for testing manual dexterity- lots of different obstacles to navigate
https://www.trixie.de/en/cat/toys-for-cats/strategy-games/fun-board-strategy-game-1001092656-1001097402
Both of these can be ordered from various places online. I find each occupies Dexter for about 45-60 minutes.
Most boards are some variation of these -- the only major mechanic missing is this board by AFP I showed the cats today -- it has holes in a case where they have to fish their paws through.
Also a good choice, as it has an adjustable difficulty level.

C I N E C R A F T
Nixon Copour, the ever-elusive brother to Trixi, made quite the impression on Tuesday evening at the CineCraft Academy festival. Known as the ultimate dream for indie directors and producers, this festival marked Nixon's first attendance. As expected, he kept a low profile, displaying a shyness that seemed almost out of place given his experience under the spotlight. Despite being no stranger to the flashing lights, Nixon opted to walk the red carpet alone, engaging with no one in particular. His latest film, "Boys Like Me," about a group of teenage boys navigating the tumultuous journey of self-discovery, garnered significant attention. Though it's not his first film, it is the first to earn such prestigious accolades. While Nixon didn’t snag the coveted Best Director of the Year award, his movie took home Best Picture, a monumental achievement in itself. Interestingly, Nixon was a no-show at the after-party, leaving his cast and crew to bask in the glory of their win. But when red carpet photos of Nixon hit the internet, fans couldn't get enough. The comments section was ablaze with admiration, with one fan capturing the sentiment perfectly: "Nixon Copour exudes an effortless elegance and raw talent." It's clear that despite his reserved demeanor, Nixon Copour continues to capture the world’s attention with his undeniable talent and classic charm.

Happy Pride Month!!
So for pride month, I decided to shoutout a nice little LGBTQ+ game.
The game is called "The Testimony of Trixie Glimmer Smith" and I just love the subtle but spelt out themes of self-esteem, confidence and self-identity that is jam packed into this visual novel.
You follow a Rat character, who is a trans MtF, alongside her female friend. You have to navigate through cults, Satanists and otherworldly being all the while trying to navigate your own sense of self, this story has comedy and drama alongside the horror.
If you may, please check out the creator, Digital Poppy's Itchio page as there is also many different games that you may prefer more if you don't like visual novels.
Also check out her friend, Mia Cain's page!
And finally, please check out the LGBT section of Itchio games!

OH GODS I SAID A THING™ AND NOW I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD:
Probably because of the Announcement of the Animated M9 Series, but...
"Wildemount. The final Continent. This is the story of a rag-tag band of mercenaries and sellswords. Their five year Campaign? Prevent a reality altering relic from falling into the wrong hands, discover new conspiracies between warring nations, and boldly go where no one has gone (for good reason) before."
I call this abomination of an idea: DEEP SPACE NEIN!
And yes, it's every bit as cursed as you can imagine a CR / Star Trek crossover to be!
Everyone needs their space on the UNSC-1909 "Mighty Nein":
Fjord "The Unwitting Face of the group" Stone: Captain. That one's obvious.
Beauregard "Beau" Lionett: Number One. Because she gets physical and FUCKS. You can blame Ryker for this one...
Yasha "Worf WISHES he hit this hard" Nydoorin: Security. Nuff said.
Caleb "my phaser doesn't have a Stun setting" Widogast: Navigation. Keen Mind once again comes in clutch!
Nott/Veth "The Brave" Brenatto: Engineering. Yeza helps as well! She's still CONSTANTLY smashed and that's how she does her best work!
Genevieve "Jester" Lavorre: Comms. This one is primarily because of the Message spell... During their travels, she finds a sterile Tribble she names "Sprinkle". Hilarity ensues.
Caduceus "Earl" Clay: Ship Doctor. Always a bit of tea on hand to talk about somebody else's problems. The crew knows better than to ask why he gets a new batch of tea whenever Spurt gets killed, though...
Mollymauk "Nine Eyes" Tealeaf: The hot bartender who illegally smuggled himself into the ship to escape a past he himself doesn't remember... Sees EVERYTHING. Knows everyone's secrets.
Essek "The Hover" Thelyss: That ONE guy in the Transponder room that energizes the teleporters. He seems unimportant until he gets promoted to Series Regular halfway through Season 2 due to his unexpected Political connections and insight.
He accidentally invented hover boots while messing around Engineering and now NEVER takes them off...
Bonus:
+ Pumat S.0.L: Ship's AI voice. Occasional holograms of him show up to manage the built-in shops, respectfully.
+ Kiri: Baby on board. The Wesley Crusher of the show. She and Luc get along quite well!
+ Shakaste: Chief Science Officer. Don't even give him LaForge shades. Have a little robotic Hummingbird called the Grand Duchess scan the area with sonar and directly transmit the info to his brain!
+ Calliana: Pilot. She flies the ship. Whether it's smooth sailing or crazy, death-defying acrobatics depends on her mood that day.
+ Spurt: The Red Shirt. It's always him. The same one. He always dies and comes back next episode like nothing ever happened. Nobody acknowledges this. "It's been 11 days since Spurt last went Splat".
+ Keg: A down-on-her-luck space smuggler the crew encounters on occasion. She's almost never followed by good news, but she's good for her word, and (with some "persuasion" from Beau) will usually help the crew out of a pinch.
+ Nila: She and her family were diplomats/emissaries for a pacifist race, but when her husband and child get kidnapped by Keg's old partners in crime, the Iron Shepherds, Nila proves to be a formidable spy on top of a ferocious fighter...
+ Reani: Still a vigilante, plain and simple. She goes from planet to planet "rescuing" people with her own lethal brand of justice. Her abilities as a shapeshifter and her interest in biology make her a valuable ally though, not to mention that she knows just about every shady person on any given sector...
+ Twiggy: The ship's resident Archeologist, albeit the most eccentric member of the crew. She specializes in identifying where magical artifacts come from, and dragging the crew on "archeological escapades" for "Science". Her pet squirrel Trixie and Caleb's cat Frumpkin seem to be good friends, but neither of them feel comfortable around Sprinkle for some reason...
+ Yussa: The Negotiator. Not because he can smooth-talk anyone, that's Fjord's thing. No, Yussa's the negotiator because of how EASILY he can figure out what everybody wants. Although he keeps a calm exterior, he has a habit of taking EVERYTHING regarding anything that resembles a puzzle or a mystery as a challenge, and his hubris WILL get the crew into trouble more than once...
Occasional antagonists include:
# The Iron Shepherds: Led by the dreadful Lorenzo, these low life slavers make their credits pulling the most despicable jobs... Regardless of who pays for them, so long as the job is paid for.
# Captain Avantika: Obligatory femme fatale with a thing for Fjord. Whether it's a relationship born of convenience, manipulation or simply blind worship towards the same thing, nobody can really tell. The pirate captain of the "Squalleater" is OBSESSED with releasing an entity which she believes to be an ancient god, hidden in the farthest reaches of space... And only the crew can stop her from achieving her malicious goal.
# Obann and the Unkillable Family: Much like Avantika, the God-releasing MO stands, but rather than getting their followers by power of charisma or duty, the crew of the ravager ship "Angel of Irons" directly controls the minds of the people they believe might help them accomplish their goal... Including the Nein's own Chief of Security for a time.
# Special Guest Star Matthew Mercer as "The Traveler": He's Q. That's it. He's JUST Q. There is no joke, there is no agenda other than wanting to become a God himself, but taking such a liking to Jester that he can never endanger the crew to continue his schemes, so he finds ways to trick them into helping him out... Mostly by pretending to be a sterile Tribble and arousing chaos wherever he goes.
And that's what I've got! Let me know what you think! I'm not very good at AUs, but I couldn't get this idea out of my head!

This is a series that did side-scrolling action platforming right. Continuing the adventure in Diddy’s Kong Quest, you take Diddy and the newly added Trixie with her set of moves giving Donkey Kong Country 2 a fresh new spin from the first game.
Released for the Super Nintendo in 1995, this time it is set in Crocodile Isle. You must navigate through challenging levels, defeat enemies, and collect bananas to rescue Donkey Kong from the clutches of the villainous Kaptain K. Rool.

Guardians Of Africa: Rebels Shall Rise
Hello World!
Recently, I rewatched Ms Marvel (2022), Hawkeye (2021), Spiderman: Far from Home and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. I got me thinking that I really love teen superheroes in the MCU. Trust me, I would give me soul to Captain Marvel and Iron Man, but it's really cool to see relatable, kickbutting teenagers in Marvel movies and shows. It got me thinking that maybe I want to do that, create my own teen super. What better way to make a teenager character when you're an actual teenager? Since I can't draw 😔😔😔 I'm just going to write my ideas and add some photos from my good friend Pinterest. Any artist who wants to contribute is free to do so 😁😁😁.
_________________________________________________________
Long ago, a horrible disease spread across Africa called the Great Plague. It made people sick in bed for days and meet their demise in a week. Thankfully, the disease went as fast as it came but not without side effects. Survivors of the Great Plague now possessed superhuman abilities and dedicated themselves to defense their nations. They were called West-bloods.
A hundred years later, young West-bloods are trained in special academies to hon their powers and become Guardians of Africa.
Nancy Chidinma Godwin, the main character, began her training at ten under her brother James and her father Alex, a powerful West-blood called the Mindbender. Nancy adopted the persona of the Cat Burglar, a master thief and gymnastics prodigy, striving to please her father even at the cost of her own interests and friendships.
After failing a mission to retrieve a stolen gem, Nancy becomes a disappointment to her family. Her father becomes distant, her brother ignores her, and her best friend Tiffany betrays her by dating her brother. In her despair, Nancy decides to stop seeking approval and starts rebelling, cutting her hair into a spiky buzzcut and adopting a new style.
At twelve, Nancy gains super intelligence and electrokinesis, developing a passion for science and coding. She creates fingerless gloves that turn electric energy into physical matter. Despite continuing her training, she loses interest in missions and drops the Cat Burglar alias. Her relationship with her father deteriorates, and she finds a new role model in her aunt, Doctor Beatrice (Trixie), a brilliant engineer who also faced family rejection.
Now fourteen, Nancy begins her first year at the Guardian Institute, an exclusive academy established by the Renegades, led by her father. The Institute, which only accepts 30 students, is divided into three houses: Regal House, Aether House, and Alpha House. Regal House, the most prestigious, is coordinated by the Mindbender. Aether House, the second best, is known for its optimism and being the voice of reason. Alpha House, nicknamed the ‘Rebel House,’ is known for its rule-breaking students and rivalry with Regal House. Despite being offered a place in all three houses, Nancy chooses Alpha House, preferring it over a toxic team.
In Alpha House, Nancy reunites with her old friends Dani and Moses. As she navigates her new life with frosty friendships, awkward Sunday dinners, and constant competitions, Nancy is determined to fix her past mistakes and heal the pain, all while investigating sinister activities within the Institute that may be connected to villains targeting Lagos City.

Does molly have a translator?
Yes, she will be assigned one upon landing in Mexico. Though realistically she and the others* will receive a cohort of translators, interpreters (they also act as scribes to determine the future president's political platform), and advisors; it is permissible to represent this group as a single person (as one can imagine a visual novel with the player navigating the electoral crisis and influencing the outcome as Molly's advisor).
When referring to the web of outcomes, this only happens after the Mexican Supreme court gives the go ahead for Molly, a 12-year-old child from another dimension and country, to be president. This will understandably incense constitutional hardliners which is why quite a few of the 'branches' lead to a Legal Coup.
