Stromanthe Triostar Plant | Green Ozean
Stromanthe Triostar develops best under backhanded light, so setting your plant in a warm, sufficiently bright spot is ideal. Never put your Stromanthe Triostar under direct daylight. Keep the dirt marginally sodden, yet all the same not spongy. Water your Stromanthe Triostar when the top inch of the dirt is dry.Your Stromanthe Triostar lean towards a sufficiently bright spot with brilliant, backhanded light. However it can endure lower levels of light, the brilliant variegation will blur. Keep away from direct daylight which can consume the leaves. The triostar stromanthe (Stromanthe sanguinea) has amazing, full variegate foliage with lively shades of pink. It tends to be filled outside in blistering and muggy environments, however it truly does best well inside and is all the more regularly developed as a house plant.

here's my obligatory "i swear i'm not dead yet!!!" post for 2024! i'll finally be DONE FOREVER with college this june, which means i can go back to my hobbies again (sims included).
last time i made something was last september (yikes). i'm probably very rusty but i've also learned a lot of cool stuff in blender these past few months which i hope i can use in my future creations :-)
as for my plants........ well lol. all i have left are:
Aloe Vera
Maranta Leuconeura
Philodendron Pink Princess (the only one from my first batch of plants that survived lol)
Philodendron Pink Princess Marble (lots of pink! i like it better than the regular ppp since the variegation is very stable and all leaves got pink in them)
Pothos Marble Queen (this one got huge!)
Pothos N'joy
on the bright side they are all doing great since i've finally found the secret to keeping plants alive: ignoring them as much as possible lol. now i see i killed most of my plats by overwatering and over fertilizing. and as much as i love them i'm also staying away from delicate plants like calatheas bc my city's weather is just not good for them.
here's a list of all the plants i killed in 2022-2023:
Stromanthe Sanguinea Triostar (this one HURT SO MUCH omg)
Stromanthe Sanguinea
Philodendron Pink Princess 2.0
Calathea White Fusion
Tradescantia Fluminensis Tricolor
Aglaonema China Red
Calathea Ornata
that's all lol... see u soon! <3

My triostar stromanthe is continuing to be happy in its corner. Would love to move it because it's gotten HUGE but also I'm afraid to disturb it lol

How are your plants? Which do you have? I have a soft spit for ones I see at the store that look sad or are small and need a home, then they get really big!
Also does Weepingbell count as a pet plant?
you have no idea what you just got yourself into lmao - ooc
"My plants are doing fine, obviously. I have about..."
"After checking: I have about 370+ plants, which include...ZZ plants, many types of cacti and succulents, one orchid, many types of pothos, some philodendrons, some snake plants, many types of aloes, monsteras, Scindapsus, euphorbias, hoyas, string of plants, fittonias, polka dot plants, dieffenbachia, many types of peperomias"
dear arceus, give him a minute to catch his breathe-
"dracenas, spider plants, cordyline, stromanthe triostar, few types of ferns, moss anddd Cryptanthus and other shit"
"Yeah sure, Weepingbell counts its literally a pitcher plant at best"

i have become slightly obsessed with houseplants. i almost have 40. a lot of them were cuttings from my mom but i have definitely spend a lot of money on new plants too.
i really love this guy because he's all black. it's so cool! and they barely ever need to be watered
have also bought a grow light for my plants which is fun to try out. the guy on the left is Eugene, our ficus Benjamina. and on the right is my pride and joy my Stromanthe Triostar who I desperately want to name something cute but i still haven't come up with anything clever.
maybe I have too many plants? I don't think so. A lot of them are easy plants. But we'll see once I start working again on december 1st whether I can keep them alive longterm...

🤒🍝and 🌴 also for Julian?
I feel so spoiled with Julian asks today! Tysm for this 🥰🥰 and thank you for loving my darling boy.
🤒 FACE WITH THERMOMETER — does your oc get sick easily?
You know, the last time I was here I think I would have said yes, absolutely, SO easily, a harsh wind could take him down. And I hope I'm not letting anyone down if I say that I've rethought that and changed my mind. I love him so much, and while I will always love hurting him, I also want him to have an actual, happy, fulfilling life. I think... this is what we call growth?
That being said, he does get sick a bit more easily than the average person. He's asthmatic which doesn't help. He travels a lot when he's on tour with fables and is just around a lot of people otherwise. Add in that he's also an insomniac so chronically sleep deprived especially when he's having a flare and he's just a bit more delicate than a lot of my other OCs. Which is fine - it just means there are more opportunities for Niko to be the absolute sweetest ever to him.
🍝 SPAGHETTI — what is/are your oc's favorite food(s)?
If you let him, Julian would probably have either sushi or sashimi every single day of his life (with pho, spicy kimchi stew and ramen as runners up if he wants something hot instead). He likes pretty much anything Asian though, as long as it's NOT beef (which he really doesn't like at all - it makes his stomach feel a bit off, as does a lot of dairy so he avoids both most of the time). He tends to like lighter dishes, anything too rich or heavy is kind of off-putting to him although he'll make an exception for a really spicy curry with coconut milk.
🌴 PALM TREE — does your oc have a green thumb? do they enjoy gardening?
Julian does have a green thumb! He has a few pet-safe houseplants that he's raised from cuttings (his pride and joy is a stromanthe triostar), they're his babies and he takes SUCH good care of them. He talks to them, he even sings to them. He also keeps a really nice vertical kitchen herb garden on one of the walls of their kitchen so he always has fresh herbs to cook and bake with.
#oc ask meme#my ocs#oc: julian#i'm just... !!!!!!#tysm for letting me think about him more#this has made my entire day#idk i really hope it doesn't bother anyone that he's... happier and less fragile now sdfdsjlkdfs#i've legit worried about that which is probably silly but here we are

7, 15, and 42
7. What color dominates your closet?
I answered this one here!
15. Do you have any houseplants? Do any of them have names?
I have many, many houseplants--I have four or five pathos, a small monstera, a stromanthe triostar and a calathea pinstripe (because they both have pink leaves lol), a money tree, and a snake plant.
However, none of them have names because I am very bad at naming things. The only plant I ever named was a money tree called Katniss. Here she is with Peeta:
42. Do you have any games on your phone? If so, which one(s) is/are your favorite?
I do! I enjoy my silly matching/puzzle games while listening to a podcast at the end of the day. I have a version of 2048 and a Tetris type game that are addicting as well as Homescapes (the ads got me) and some other similar silly puzzle games. I also have a bunch of games for work reasons so my phone looks like a middle-aged mom's lmao.
