Texas angst?

Why of course :)

Despite what he might tell you, his immune system is absolute sh*t and he gets sick a lot, though he usually works it off and there’s a 50/50 chance as to whether it gets better or worse.

^sorta related to the hc above: heat exhaustion. Yeah. He’s suffered from it on more than one occasion yet he still works outside when it’s boiling hot for WAY too long.

^oh yeah he also has asthma but refuses to use his inhaler cuz he’s afraid of being seen as week. Same goes for his iron supplements and meds that his therapist gave him.

If he gets into a serious fight that’s going too far, either the person he’s fighting has to give up, or someone has to separate them. There’s no other way for it to end. Texas is going to fight till his very last breath, and would rather die than accept defeat.

(this is sorta happy but also sad-ish) whenever Texas is missing his mom, who’s name was Maria, he’ll go sit down on the beach and just stare out onto the ocean for hours since it reminds him of her (not to mention, the name "Maria" means "of the sea"). He also named his chihuahua Maria, after his mother.

He hates that he has to listen to what his government tells him to do, but if he doesn’t, his handlers will hurt them. One of the worst parts is, is that Texas thinks that they’re allowed to do this. The State Handlers are NOT, under ANY circumstances, allowed to harm the states. Texas doesn’t know this. Even if he did, he’s too scared to tell anyone.

Texas cannot handle seeing any animals die. He can’t. He will cry. Even if it’s a movie. Oklahoma tried teasing him about it and Louisiana nearly strangled him for it. Everyone needs a Loui in their life. (TW: s3lf h4rm and dr^g and 4lcoh0l mention under the cut, but I’m also gonna include some normal hc’s cuz why the hell not)

Texas does alot of stuff that he doesn’t know counts as self harm (ex: taking REALLY hot showers, biting himself, pulling at his hair, not eating for extended periods of time, etc…).

I’m not gonna say he smokes weed and cigarettes, but I’m not gonna say he doesn’t.

Yes he does in fact drink alcohol to numb the pain.

If you decide to ask what’s in his cup, prepare to be mildly horrified (or not). What’s in his cup? Well dear reader. Straight up whiskey, at least 10 shots of caffeine and espresso, a few red bulls and a C4 (the energy drink). This man is not okay (i promise) /ref

To the surprise of pretty much the whole statehouse, Texas does in fact listen to hyperpop, ESPECIALLY Odetari and 6arelyhuman (fun fact: they’re both from Texas. Yeah.). Sometimes you’ll hear him muttering under his breath: "hey scene sl*t we’re still cutting tonight, that’s why my wrists are so sore-". The only state that wasn’t surprised was surprisingly Louisiana. Cuz him and Texas make song recommendations to each other and they have the same music taste (except Loui doesn’t listen to country alot-).

He also makes knives and daggers out of random rocks his finds and he’s (not)surprisingly good at it.

Texas is a bottom but would rather die than admit it- I mean what who said that not me

Wyoming and Montana love to corner Texas and shower their touch starved boyfriend with affection and he hates loves them for it

^Texas enjoys giving the two of them heart attacks with random trickriding stuff.

They both have physically dragged Texas away from his work to give him cuddles. No they don’t care that he "has a lot of work to do" and that he’s a long spaghetti noodle, they both drag his stubborn ass.

Wyoming has been told numerous times that his hair reminds the other two of a bison and he gets flustered asf every time. Doesn’t help that he’s built like a bison. Strong man.

Texas and Wyoming both headbutt each other (deer + bison) and Montana.

Texas was the one to find out that the other two are hella weak to puppy eyes.

For the longest time, Texas kept insisting to them that he was something big and strong like a bull, but then they found out he was a deer. There was plenty of affectionate teasing after that.

The headbutts are constant and monatana is ✨suffering✨ because of it. Two boyfriends with hard heads randomly head butting you in the face and back does wonders for your awareness

A year ago at @knightsofmiddleengland for a lesson with @emmatytherleigh using her absolutely gorgeous saddle by @saddlery_martin_povr

I remember bits of this lesson, and the wonderful @mcadams_horse_transport who took us there filmed it. This was about two weeks after we'd lost Summer and I don't think I was really on the planet. It was definitely good to go and Do Something and Poppy was absolutely amazing at being in a new place, with new horses, HUGE arena, new tack and a new skill. She also adored the little "oops" cob foal KOME had (Hope?).

A year later I'm still struggling with grief and I suppose I will be for quite some time. Poppy, Meghan and I are having a good winter at the new yard where we're training together or spending time existing together and it's very lovely.

Circus Maximus

The last place I visited on this trip through ancient Rome was the Circus Maximus, where I spent a day among the crowd in the arena watching chariot races. The energy was exhilarating— every person in the crowd was cheering and yelling, engrossed in the competitive sport taking place in the arena before us. The arena itself was massive, the racing-floor looped the bottom area while tiered seating for the crowd rose up around the perimeter, and there was a dividing wall in the center loop of the track. The day began with a procession in which political figures led the competitors from the heart of the city into the Circus Maximus, and others in the march carried statuettes of gods or another religious iconography. As the races began, the crowd filled the arena and the noise was almost deafening. The chariots used in the races looked light and maneuverable; they had two wheels and most of them were pulled by two horses while some of them were pulled by four. The backs of the chariots were open, giving a clear view of the charioteers inside as they passed by on the track. The charioteers themselves wore different colors to indicate the faction they represented in the race- ranging from blue, red, white, and green to show their racing house. The dividing wall in the center of the loop of the track had pillars that rose up tall enough for the crowd to see. Each race was seven laps, and to count the laps still left to run, each pillar held seven large eggs that would be decreased as a lap was completed. 

I remained at the Circus for the whole time that day’s races were being held, and there were twelve of them throughout the day. Between each race, riders known as “trickriders” or delsultores would entertain the crowd by leaping from the back of one horse to another while the horses ran alongside each other. It was a great sight to see, the crowd immersed in the competition and the riders displaying their skill on the track. Each winner of a chariot race received a monetary reward, and I heard some members of the crowd speculating that each winner would be richer than the wealthy nobles that sat in their luxurious seats higher up in the area. I also heard conversations discussing the expenses of the games themselves, with some citizens astounded that the city allows HS 80,000 (or $4,000) a day to be allocated to chariot racing. This event was my most exciting visit, the energy from the crowd left my head pounding as I exited the Circus after the games had come to an end. I got to see many amazing things firsthand during this journey, and feel the emotions of those around me as I stepped back into time to learn more about ancient Rome and immerse myself into the civilization. The ancient innovations that Rome spurred on in engineering and infrastructure in the city led to its immense power and influence as a physical empire, and the artistic and social success Rome found led to its influence as a cultural hub and society up until the fall of the empire in the 5th century AD. Experiencing these innovations firsthand through research and travel has reinforced to me that Rome was likely the greatest city of the ancient world, both in terms of physical attributes and through its cultural influence.

YEAHHH IM GLAD YOU LIKED THEM!! allow me to send more your way: minne makes sure that tex wears sunscreen even though tex is convinced he doesn’t need it. he holds him hostage and gently and carefully puts it on his face before texas gives in and does the rest himself (unless he just lets minne do it). with minne being the “north star state” and tex being “the lone star state” there is no way they don’t have matching jewelry or knickknacks with star symbols on them (i believe when they get married they have stars on their rings). i think minne is easy to wake once asleep so texas is always very careful not to wake him, and the other way texas works hard and needs good sleep so minne makes sure to keep him comfortable and happy before bed, sometimes petting or massaging him to put him back to sleep if he didn’t get “enough” in his opinion. minnesota lock screen is him and tex and tex’s home screen is minnesota. if youre a austin separate truther like me, austin is babied and spoiled the shit out of by his dads (austin is also super happy that his dad found someone who is gentle, kind, and deeply values his dads happiness and comfort, he’s had it hard and now he gets to know peace and love and he loves to see texas really truly happy). texas teaches minne to ride a horse. texas watches intently as minne chops wood or throws axes. they go hunting together, maybe in the box one or both of them fall asleep. they go to the state fair together and they win each other prizes. i hope this helps your addiction! ^^

TEXAS WOULD BE SO DAMN QUIET IN THE MORNINGS cuz he always wakes up first at the ass crack of dawn and he knows that Minne is a light sleeper

^minne always makes it a point to make sure that Texas is so comfy that he won’t get up in the morning and so that he sleeps longer. Hair pets, back massages, and blankets usually works.

Austin (and probably a few other cities) will get absolutely SPOILED by both parents. Texas more so. I have slightly angst reasonings for that :3

^Austin and the other kiddos are definitely happy that their Mama (they call him Mama okay-) found someone that’s kind and loving and caring <3

Texas teaches Minne how to ride a horse AND he actually teaches him some trickriding stuff since Minne seemed to be the first person he’s met that was interested in learning a bit.

Texas stares VERY respectfully and VERY heterosexually whenever Minne is chopping wood. Even more so whenever Minne isn’t wearing a shirt. Definitely. Very respectfully.

I personally think that Minne would be the one to hunt, and Texas would be the one to clean the meat and cook it
