Because the talent collected for Pokemon Masters impresses me, Iâm making this masterlist post of voice actors. They are divided into four categories: Fresh and Unestablished (VAs who just surfaced in the past few years and havenât become noteworthy names at the time of their casting), Fresh and Established (VAs whose careers have spanned the late 2010s and are already well recognized for at least one other major role, usually several), Veteran (VAs whose careers have spanned the late 2000s / early 2010s), and Super Veteran (VAs whose careers have spanned the early 2000s or even earlier). Again, bear in mind this reflects their status when cast for this game - obviously, things change: some Unestablished VAs are now starting to become Established, some Established VAs are reaching Veteran status, and eventually Veteran VAs will be known as Super Veterans. Video essays hosted or written by women
Here are some of my favorite YouTube channels. Under the cut!Â
(Feel free to add your own)
Whatâs So Great About That?
Grace Lee combines philosophy and pop (or sometimes not so pop) media to create unique and thought provoking video essays about whatever sheâs been thinking about lately. One of my favorites is David Lynch: The Treachery of Language.
 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3g8YdblbqlUAKEeAJbzMYw/featured
Be Kind Rewind
All about Hollywood history, especially the Oscarâs best actress category.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNiolZNLiJplmCCzqk9-czQ
The Art Assignment
This channel is hosted by Sara Urist Green and used to be interviews and art assignments by artists from all around. Now it primarily explores a new perspective on an artists, artwork, or movement.Â
https://www.youtube.com/user/theartassignment
Lessons from the Screenplay
This channel separates itself from your typical movie analysis channel by focusing on the screenplay and screenwriting.
Hosted by Michael Tucker but often co-written by Tricia Aurand
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCErSSa3CaP_GJxmFpdjG9Jw
Every Frame a Painting
Another film analysis channel. Tragically, they stopped making videos several years ago. This channel is still one of my very favorites. Hosted by Tony Zhuo and written/co-written by Taylor Ramos
https://www.youtube.com/user/everyframeapainting/featured
The Brain Scoop
This probably does not count as a video essay channel, but Iâm including it anyway. The host, Emily Graslie, started out volunteering at the University of Montana Zoological Museum, and is now an employee of the Field Museum in Chicago. This is a science channel with videos about all sorts of things, generally related to natural history and natural history museums. Thereâs also some cool specimen preparation, so check that out if youâre interested or watch out if you are squeamish!

[TASK 087: BELIZE]
Thereâs a masterlist below compiled of over 200+ Belizean faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever character or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FCâs!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNGâs, fancasts, alternative FCâs - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didnât use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK - Â examples are linked!
Stumped for ideas? Maybe make a masterlist or graphic of your favourite faceclaims. A masterlist of names. Plot ideas or screencaps from a music video preformed by an artist. Masterlist of quotes and lyrics that can be used for starters, thread titles or tags. Guides on culture and customs.
Screencaps
RP icons [of all sizes]
Gif Pack [maybe gif icons if you wish]
PNG packs
Manips
Dash Icons
Character Aesthetics
PSDâs
XCFâs
Graphic Templates - can be chara header, promo, border or background PSDâs!
FC Masterlists - underused, with resources, without resources!

representation + orange is the new black
thereâs gonna be different categories here (so a LONG post) like lgbt, illness, cliques and races, so letâs get started with orange is the new blackâs representation. but first, here are some of the things the show has covered. the representation in the characters will come after the cut off.
addiction
black lives matter
lgbtq+
mental health
racism
sexual abuse
the american prison system
and now on to the characters. let me know if iâve missed out anything. let me know if anything on here (that iâve stated like headings, etc) is offensive and how to alter it.
Race
Asian

Scaling up: LAâs community colleges continue rollout of Cloud Computing certificate
Executives from Amazon Web Services, the 19 participating community colleges in LA, many businesses and other workforce development partners gathered in Downtown Los Angeles for the official rollout of the new California Cloud Workforce Project, to discuss the new cloud computing certificate program, and to hear from students who are enrolled in the coursework and preparing for careers in Information Technology here in the LA region.
One of the announcements at the event was a new job board to help businesses recruit skilled candidates for cloud computing positions. The job board is free to use and allows businesses to post openings and students to list their credentials: awseducate.com/registration
The new cloud computing program, which culminates in an industry-recognized certificate for students, is already becoming a valuable talent pipeline for organizations that migrate IT systems to the cloud, including LA-based Onica which was represented on the speaker panel. The workforce partnership is also a model that will hopefully inspire more businesses to convey skills requirements to the college system so that more programs can be created to customize talent for in-demand positions.
Ken Eisner, Sr Manager, Worldwide Education Programs and Global Lead, AWS Educate at Amazon Web Services addressed the audience and thanked all the partners who are responsible for the California Cloud Workforce
Speakers included Tricia Ramos, Dean of Santa Monica College; Ken Eisner, Senior Manager of Amazon AWS Educate; Dr. Kathryn Jeffery, President of Santa Monica College; Dr. Monte Perez, President of Mission College; Celeste Diaz, Senior Program Manager AWS Educate; Karin Kuo, VP of Onica (an organization deploying cloud solutions for clients) and Simon Anderson, CEO of Mission Cloud (an organization deploying cloud solutions for clients); and Michael Brown, Student at Santa Monica College.
LAEDC is deeply invested in workforce development, which goes hand-in-hand with our work of fostering creation of well-paying jobs. By investing in our people to help them gain new skills relevant in the information age, more residents can access well-paying job opportunities that support better standards of living.
Bill Allen, CEO of LAEDC moderated the discussion and described the importance of the project:
Our community colleges are crucial to helping us take advantage of the changes occuring in our economy.  We want each and every one of our neighbors to participate in these opportunities.  Many of our regionâs residents donât have the pathways into exciting industries and companies, and struggle with the accelerating rate of change.  Our community colleges are on the front line, developing new coursework so students develop competitive skills to access job opportunity.  The CA Cloud Workforce project is a shining example, developing a new curriculum, and hundreds of students are participating in the new program offered be the community college system. Through this transformative work, we are developing a truly inclusive economy.

Eleven-year-old Jerryâs crime was breaking curfew laws after fleeing violence at home. His punishment? Being sent to a youth detention centre, where he says he endured sexual abuse.
Officially called âHouses of Hopeâ, proponents in the Philippines say such facilities are places for reformation and education, but critics slam many of them as âhellholesâ where children are treated like caged animals.
Rightsâ groups say Jerry should never have been detained under current laws, but warn a proposed bill to lower the age of criminal responsibility from 15 to 12, will mean thousands more children will be sent to overcrowded and underfunded centres â leaving them vulnerable to mistreatment.
âI felt so dirty. That was the first time it happened to me,â Jerry told AFP as he recalled the night he was pulled from his bed, forced to the bathroom and attacked by older boys also held at a decaying centre in Manila.
âI cannot forget the sexual abuse,â he explained, adding that he left home to escape beatings from his father and ended up sleeping on the streets. His mother works in Kuwait.
Under existing law, Houses of Hope are primarily to hold young offenders aged 15 to 18. But charities say younger vulnerable children from troubled homes, like Jerry, are sometimes swept up in the dragnet even for minor misdemeanours and struggle to recover from the experience.
Watchdogs and former wards warn planned legislation to criminalise children as young as 12 and then detain them with older teens and in some cases adults will put those least able to defend themselves at risk.
âThere is a higher potential for abuse because the government is not prepared,â said Melanie Ramos-Llana of Child Rights Network Philippines.
âYou put more children into Houses of Hope which are not equipped, lack personnel and programmes, you will have problems. Jails or detention centres are not places for children,â she added.
Youth advocate Louise Suamen warns mixing youngsters who have committed minor infringements with older criminals could create a âschool of crimeâ.
âIf you are a child subjected to this environment, you can learn violence or abusive behaviour. If they want to change something⌠treat detention as the last resort,â explained Suamen of Bahay Tuluyan Foundation.
âHellholes of subhuman conditionsâ
A bill to give authorities the power to prosecute younger children stalled in the session of the legislature that wrapped up last month.
But it is a key plank of President Rodrigo Duterteâs tough-on-crime stance, which includes restoring the death penalty and his internationally condemned drug crackdown that has killed thousands since 2016.
After sweeping Mayâs midterm polls, Duterte allies dominate congress and have vowed to advance his agenda when the session opens on Monday.
But critics insist conditions in many of the facilities are identical to or worse than the jails adults are sent to.
âChildren are detained in these so-called House of Hope like animals in cages,â said Father Shay Cullen, president of PREDA Foundation which helps boys like Jerry.
âThese are really hellholes of subhuman conditions,â he added.
Five children previously held in the system, including Jerry, told AFP they suffered abuse in youth centres.
All the boys are identified using a pseudonym because they are minors or were when held.
Justin, who was 17 when he was brought to a youth centre in the capital in 2017, said other boys beat him on the pretext he had broken house rules.
âThey would punch us in the chest, stomach and sometimes the chin. It was so painful. I learned to be callous there because of what they did to me and I wanted revenge,â he said.
There are 55 government-run Houses of Hope nationwide, but this is well short of the 114 the Philippines has estimated it needs to properly house troubled juveniles.
According to official data only eight comply with social welfare rules.
These guidelines include having one social worker for every 25 children, providing one bed per resident along with nutritious meals, clothing, toiletries and rehabilitation programmes.
âSome of the Houses of Hope we saw were worse than prisons. They have no programmes,â Tricia Oco, executive director of the governmentâs Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council, told a senate inquiry in January.

Ladies and gentlemen! Let me make you an unbeatable offer!
The first three issues of Behind the Wheel together for $15 postpaid!
Thatâs $5 each, and I pay the shipping.
With over 180 illustrated pages of misadventures, discoveries and altercations, you can experience the harrowing and raucous trajectory of a confused yet weary Lyft driver turned disgruntled Uber driver then freewheeling taxi driver working the streets of San Francisco.
Plus, stickers!!!
To give you an idea of how others have felt after reading these zines, some testimonials:
AÂ review of the first two issues of Behind the Wheel by V. Vale:Â
If our future looks like San Francisco, what with its impossibly sky-high rents, employment at Google/Twitter et al for the 1%, and the rest of the population grimly hanging on to ârealâ jobs or trying out the âfreelancer economyâ working for Uber, Lyft, TaskRabbit, Airbnb and other âdisruptiveâ start-ups⌠one thing is certain: ârealâ workers are gonna get royally screwed. Itâs almost as if the 20th-century advances of labor unions, more economic justice, widespread health care, are already becoming a dimly-remembered mirage.
Behind the Wheel #1 was reviewed favorably in Razorcake Magazine:
Clocking in at fifty-six pages of pure text, Dessaintâs accounts offer a unique perspective to these rideshares that many people forget: the driverâs point of view. I found myself worried that overly drunk riders would vomit in his car; I cringed when a couple used his backseat as their own personal makeout haven; and I clenched my teeth while reading the conversations between tech bros and conservative republicans. I commend Dessaint for his ability to navigate the waters, as these situations all seemed like torture to me. Above all, Dessaint is inarguably enamored with the idea of San Francisco: the art, the culture, the history. Yet, his experiences tell tales more of frustration with what the city has become in recent years, rather than the happiness of being in the city heâs always loved. He and his wife live in nearby Oakland, as they cannot afford to live within San Francisco due to the influx of tech workers raising rent prices. The fact that his dream city is still a bridge away is a source of bitterness for Dessaint. Iâll drive myself around, thank you. âAshley Ravelo
Razorcake also had some nice things to say about Behind the Wheel #3:Â
In this third volume of Behind the Wheel, our author/driver has gone from Uber, to Lyft, to now taxi driver. This series is an inside look at what itâs like to be a Bay Area driver. We meet passengers seeking drugs, sexâand more often than not inebriatedâand mistaking the poor taxi driver as a Lyft or Uber. I especially loved the guest stories from âLate Night Larryâ because they involved either passengers who puked and had to pay up (a hundred dollar fee!) or wanted to have sex in his car, to which he seemed okay with either? The life of a cab driver doesnât seem like something Iâm brave enough to take on, but I certainly appreciate those who can do it, and the craziness that they encounter every day! Tricia Ramos
A positive review of Behind the Wheel #3 appeared in Broken Pencil magazine:Â
Dessaint loves his city of San Fran but heâs seen it with its makeup off. Heâs lost count how many times a young girl has gotten into his cab and passed out because sheâd been roofied. Part of his vocation is keeping those young women safe. The taxi industry often runs hand in hand with passengers who use intoxicants, sex workers, and people coming back from good (and bad) dates. Watching Dessaint navigate these worlds while keeping his personal code makes for very entertaining reading.
As with any vocation, Dessaint recognizes that his career does not exist in a vacuum. He comes from a long line of cabbies whom he respects and admires. Every Sunday he goes to the cabbie BBQ in the junkyard by the cab station. He hears and tells stories, gathers advice and shoots the shit. Throughout the zine he splices in stories told by a veteran cabbie, Late Night Larry. They are some of the funniest tales in the zine. Dessaint writes strong narratives and convincing arguments against Uber/Lyft. As a result, Iâm now done with Uber and I hope to be lucky enough to ride in Dessaintâs cab one day. (dustan j. hlady)
More praise for Behind the Wheel #1:Â
I read this zine in one sitting, but donât let that fool you; this is a text heavy zine. The zine has over 50 pages of Kellyâs experiences as a Lyft driver. As Kelly tells us stories about the people he meets, you also learn more about him as a person. I like how he handles his shit. He seems like a cool and nice guy. I appreciate like how neat and clean the zine is made, as I canât stand sloppy zines.
Even more:
In most of Kellyâs other zines he is what is changing; in Behind the Wheel, San Francisco is what is changing. Kelly moves from LA to the Bay area and quickly finds that the SF he knew has disappeared. He begins working for Lyft, a social media ride sharing business. He documents his life as a modern day cab driver and those he shuttles around the city he canât afford to live in. Tech companies are one of the reasons SF has changed and yet Lyft is one of those companies. Kelly recognizes the inherent conflict and the potential for being part of the problem. This zine very much captures a time and place and shows changes technology and social media have created.
And more:Â
I love insider information! Like, anything that starts with âConfessions of. . .â Iâm probably going to read. Behind the Wheel is a taxi-cab confessional of sorts, from the driverâs perspective. Kelly goes behind the pink mustache and shares the highlights and woes of being a Lyft driver. Whether heâs talking about how he learned the streets of San Francisco instead of relying on GPS, or griping about the stench of alcohol and cigarettes some passengers leave wafting through his car, Kellyâs laid-back style is engaging and readable. Best of all, he recounts passengersâ thoughts about the influx of âbrogrammersâ and other techy people into San Francisco. This makes Behind the Wheel a slice-of-life snapshot at the height of Tech Boom 2.0. Plus, he weaves in stories about his own life, letting us get to know our narrator better. When his soundtrack (like Bad Brains and Iggy Pop) plays in your head, it helps to beat down that dread you feel when he gets pulled over. At 54 pages, this zine is rich in detail and well-worth reading. Let Kelly give you a Lyft!
Alright, Iâm done. Buy the damn zines already!
And if you donât do the online thing, you can find them at most bookstores around the city.
