some info for the series;

it will be a fem!reader which isn’t what i usually write but based on the fact in the hunger games it is a boy and girl taken from each district it’ll just help me with writing. it’ll still be in the 2nd person pov so it’ll mostly use you/your pronouns, but when others refer to the reader they’ll use she/her. since it is based on the hunger games there will be a fair share of warnings such as gore, swearing, etc.

Yep same, watched it live, watched it another time I can't remember when but it wasn't the one year, I would've, but there was a lot of other stuff going on. I think that's a great idea, about the times you've watched it and will continue to. That's kinda what I've done for So Long Nerds, I've seen it more than twice, but it's become an unintentionally regular thing.

Yeah yeah yeah!! Gosh, So Long Nerds :’) I cried so hard after I watched that the first time. It took me a long time to feel up to watching it again.

Annnnd when I did get around to it, I teared up :’)

design explanation !!!!

first off, i hc c!tommy as a moobloom hybrid (hence the flowers, ears, tail, and spots), created specifically by prime (hence the eyes !!). he does not have horns but does have a cloth devil horn headband since he was a child. his hair in the braid & clasp is courtesy of techno as like. a family thing. the emerald necklace is also courtesy of techno. the bandana is matching with tubbo. the necklace with many different colored gems is a family thing that ranboo gave him. the compass is, well, the compass. the shirt design, legwarmers, and skirt are just for fun. his bracelets and ring are also from techno. i would have added kandi but i didn't have time :( the sweater is made from friends wool. the cloud buttons on the sweater are big because c!tommy has shaky hands which makes it hard to grip things. the gloves were c!wilbur's. the aroace and trans pins are my headcanons. the ribbons are tribute to cc!technoblade. the patches on his pants are for cat and mellohi. the beads on his shoelaces he made himself. he has braces because he never took them off after the beginning of lmanburg. the blue stains are from ghostbur.

mad shoutouts to bee, beans, daisy and cherry for hopping on the rainduo hunger games bandwagon kdhkdjd

okay so nonnie i have a bit of hunger games knowledge (have watched the first two movies with some pals in the last month, various clips on youtube, etc) so i decided to take this one to my friends in clout farm to bounce some ideas around. niki and wil as tributes? niki as a tribute and wil as an estranged old friend who won the games five years ago and then was swallowed up by the capitol? two coworkers in the world's worst subminimum wage job? then bee comes in with the sledgehammer

for everyone else who also thought oh god i need to google that: avoxes are rebels, traitors or deserters who had their tongues cut out as punishment, and are forced into servitude by the capitol.

alright so. wilbur and niki are two kids in district 12 in the midst of a potential regime change - and they're kids, around ten and fourteen each. to-be-president schlatt is shoving around president dream and it almost seems like this might be a window for change, something wilbur is so passionate about

and then that wrong person overhears, and wilbur is gone.

niki assumes that wilbur is dead. (and tries not to think about how he got taken, because of nothing more than sheer bad luck, and she didn't.) it's awful, but seven years pass and she does her best to cope with it. and then her name is called at the reaping, when she is seventeen years old.

niki has absolutely zero intention of playing along with the games - she thinks they're horrible, just another way for the capitol to terrorise the people of the districts, even if she's learned by now the consequences of actually saying that out loud. she meets her mentor, jack - a year younger than she is, district 12's only remaining victor. he came out of the coal pits at thirteen, with just enough charisma and confidence to win over the sponsors and just enough grit to outlive every other tribute in his games, despite his age.

unfortunately for jack, niki is stubborn as hell when she makes her choices, and she's chosen not to play. fuck the capitol - fuck acting as their entertainment while they burn her entire fucking world down. fuck smiling how they want her to and acting sweet. why should she? she should she, when they've ripped her away from everything she had to lose? niki can hold her own, but not like this - and if she is going to go to her death, she refuses to act pretty about it.

and then she encounters wilbur.

it's one of the dinners for the tributes - one of the early ones, right after they're paired off with their stylists (niki doesn't entirely know what to make of hbomb, who asks her what colour hair dye she'd prefer in one breath and then lays out the most cynical, how-to-get-ahead guide to the games in the second, and then exalts the benefits of a kitty ear motif in the third) but before the interviews and grading. they're eating the fanciest food niki has seen in what is probably her entire life, although it tastes like nothing more than ash in her mouth, and pouring the tributes and their mentors glasses of expensive wine - never mind that almost all the tributes are underage, because when else will they get the chance to drink, hey? niki is still silently fuming, pushing her food around her plate and refusing the sixth damn offer to refill her wine glass and she finally looks up and behind the mask he's wearing, behind the unrecognisable silence, behind seven years of thinking one of her best friends had been horribly killed (and being entirely unable to process that fact) - she sees wilbur.

she immediately asks, wilbur? - not that he responds, and now hbomb and jack are giving her weird looks as hbomb informs her it's just an avox and jack goes oh, yeah, they don't have them in the districts, but -

none of their words matter, because half of niki is solidly trapped in this space between reality and dreams and her worst nightmare - she's only able to pull her shit together once jack has dragged them all back to the district 12 tribute spaces, and gives her the whole spiel about what an avox is, and by extension, what happened to wilbur.

niki is horrified. to think she mourned for all those years, and wilbur was alive - not just alive, but mutilated and tortured at the hands of the capitol. niki didn't think she could become more furious, more enraged with them. she was wrong.

the problem now, then - if niki wants to help wilbur, actually help him, she has to play. she has to win.

(and yes, she does set the forest on fire. she has to win, after all, doesn't she?)

this post is getting so so long so i am putting some more miscellaneous thoughts about The World and more details about niki's games under the cut ⚔️

okay so dream WAS president but was overthrown by schlatt in a "peaceful transfer of power". this was around when niki and wil were 10/14 each - and naturally uprising resulted in a peacekeeper crackdown in the districts, leading to wilbur's capture and arrest :(

2. haven't really nailed down other tributes in niki's reaping (i'm already handwaving the guy from district 12. he doesn't exist to me he is stock image steve) besides uhh ranboo who niki makes brief friends/allies with and then dies horribly. i was thinking aimsey and guqqie because from what i've seen of their content they love a tragedy? but yeah idk

3. sam is the gamemaker for this arena! he was a former victor and has decided to use this knowledge in the worst way possible.

quackity is Also a gamemaker (young upstart with no experience yet in the arena or out of it) and they have terrible workplace drama. is he hooking up with the president? i will not say yea or nay.

4. rest easy in the knowledge that, as a servant to the capitol, wilbur got to see on live television the moment niki was reaped :']

5. niki does, in fact, win the games - by the skin of her teeth. while she is so full of fury at the capitol, i feel like she'd Actually kill like, one career and then feel Extremely ill about it. unfortunately, she has too much on the line to lose. this isn't just about surviving, or going home - she needs to get herself and wilbur home in one piece. she Cannot Afford To Fail.

she ends up winning by setting the arena on fire with use of a match donated by jack and some sponsors he managed to twist the arm of, plus probably some clever digging around in the arena itself to find something flammable (maybe some kind of fuel to power the arena itself?) this fire ends up killing off the remaining few tributes at that point - at least one in front of niki herself - and damages the arena too. niki, already injured before the fire started and now barely clinging onto life past her burns, doesn't even hear the sound of the cannon shots as her victory is announced - she only realises that she's won once the hovercraft descends, perfect steel against a fiery, smoke-filled artificial sky.

she can't really stand the sight of flames after that. unfortunately, fire becomes her new branding.

6. district 13 Is a thing. Eventually. can't overlook niki's beloved anarchist friends :3c

MCC has added a monument to Techno in the MCC lobby!

Techno’s plan for the Dream SMP was to have his main character “Technoblade” go off on a training arc while he plays a new character named “Cyberknife” who loves government in the new world of the Dream SMP that can be accessed via the special portal. He was going to involve as many smaller creators on the Dream SMP as he could and the Syndicate minus Techno would investigate this new character for anarchy related reasons!

Some updates

- Techno will be receiving the Courage Award from the Sarcoma Foundation of America in September for his dedication to the cause. You can read about it here.

- A Mojang Community Manager on reddit has confirmed that Mojang is thinking of ways to honour Techno, but without any details as to how they will be doing so. Link to their reddit comment.

- Techno’s channel hit 12 million subscribers on YouTube! That means he’s overtaken Tommy again.

- Phil has built a monument to Techno in his hardcore world. It consists of a diamond sword rammed into an island, with Techno’s cape hung from the hilt. A Friendship Emerald hangs from one side of the sword’s hand guard. Techno’s crown sits around where the sword meets the earth, with Phil having tried to replicate the scuffedness of the gems as best he could. A trident named “Technoblade Never Dies” is hung in an item frame on the crown. There is a bell on an emerald block and 2 pigs tethered next to the monument.

hope you dont mind some venting in yr innbox real quick but its mystifying that the prevailing argument in anti circles right now is “well just because Techno’s father is ok with it doesn’t make it respectful, it says something about him he’s ok with it!” ok… so if Techno’s friend doesn’t know better, and his own father doesn’t know better, then who does? You? Who the fuck ARE you exactly aside from some random stranger who has decided to claim ownership over his image? Against his friends and family, no less?

And the crazy thing is they genuinely seem to think they ARE the ones who ought to decide it because they keep being like “thanks sooo much for saying this I thought I was nuts because it made me so uncomfortable, I’d be so upset if my friend did this to me and they werent even that close”. like I cannot reiterate enough. WHOOOO the fuck are you and why should anyone care that it made you uncomfortable? I’m sorry you felt that way, it happens, click the fuck off and don’t expect these grieving people to coddle your feelings for you. You are not the one affected by this, yoour opinions are not universal, and you need to quit being a weirdo because you’re incapable of feeling a negative emotion without feeling the need to point fingers about it.

And I even saw someone explain it away by claiming that Technodad “is grieving and wants his son to be remembered in any way, that doesn’t make it okay”, as if he’s some lost, confused little lamb with no autonomy of his own being coerced by big, bad Dream who couldn’t possibly have loved Techno more than YOU did, right??

It’s just all so disgusting and strange and I’m baffled that this, of all things, is what they’ve decided to agree on. That they have presedence over Techno’s own circle of loved ones about how he ought to be remembered. Jesus Christ I sincerely hope it’s obvious to bystanders who’s being insane in this scenario because I’ve been running low on faith these past few months. It used to be if someone made a stupid accusation, there was a decent chance of it being made fun of and dropped, but now it feels like anyone can just say any damn thing about him once and it’ll stick. Vile.

all i'll say is that if this was wilbur/lovejoy making the tribute song and video, you wouldn't be hearing any of these complaints.

for your treat you get a snippet of a small bit i wrote of @faebriel 's rainduo hunger games au after the two of us brainstormed the idea of wilbur as an avox and niki as a tribute. don't consider it canon or anything to his au it's just something I wrote for my own self indulgence lol

Nausea rises in the back of Niki’s throat as she looks over the three avoxes still standing with their heads bowed, as if they were closer to statues than human beings. The girl on the left doesn’t look that much older than her. In contrast, the man in the center could be her father. And then the boy on the right- Wait. No. The Avox boy on the right is tall. Taller than anyone else in the room. He’s long-limbed and lanky in a way that gives Niki a sickening sense of deja vu. Although his face is partially obscured by his bowed head, his dark, curly hair is unmistakable.  “Niki?” Eret asks, furrowing their brows. “Are you alright?” Hearing her name, the Avox boy lifts his head the tiniest bit. Brown eyes the color of damp earth meet her own, and Niki stumbles back in shock. “Niki!” Jack exclaims, reaching out to grab her arm. “What’s wrong?” Niki can’t breathe. She’s sucking air into her lungs but it’s not doing anything as she stares in horror at the corpse standing on the opposite side of the room.  Because that’s what he’s supposed to be. A corpse.  Not here. Not in the Capitol. Not silent.  Wilbur.

Endless Sleep

Tw: death mention, grieving.

Tommy’s sleep was restless, it had been several weeks since the incident, as those dumbass therapists called it… he hated that word now. Ever since that day, it had been hard to close his eyes.

He missed those mofos so much.

In his sleep, in the very same room on a significantly bigger bed than the one he rested in on a nightstand, Philza would awaken, and sit up with a groggy look about him, wiping some sleep from his eyes he would turn to look at Tommy… a sigh coming from his lips.

He himself had troubles too, but he had to be there for Tommy; It was all that kept him going, losing two of his three sons would do that to you… need something to keep you going. He’d rise to his feet, and gently stroke Tommy’s small hair with a finger, feeling his soft movements, despite the sad nature of his distressed motions, it was the most active he’d seen him in a while.

“Shhh…” He whispered softly, stroking his blond hair until he calmed. The larger avian would look out a window, gazing at the night sky, the stars shining brightly. He wished he could see them just one last time.

On the nightstand, close to where Tommy slept was a photo of the once happy family, but now half of them were gone. Techno, gone much too soon and Wil, taken most recently.

It was heart shattering.

Memories flashed through Phil’s mind, as soundless tears dripped from his face, times of love, times of laughter; God he’d give anything to have those times back.

One memory in particular appeared, a day like any other, except all four of them were tired as shit hehe… Phil nearly crashed the car that day, picking them all up from their work or school in Tom’s case.

Tubbo had called them all sleepy boy’s when he came to visit, and the name kind of stuck, it became an inside joke, Sleepy Boi’s Incorporated, they called themselves.

They tried their best to stay awake and have some family bonding time together but… when Wil face-planted into a pie that Tommy had moved in front of him, Phil would send them off to bed.

Everyone learned a lesson from that to not stay up too late hehe…

Suddenly, lost in his thought, something would perch on Phil’s shoulder, and nuzzle his neck. “Tommy…?”

“Phil.” Tommy replied simply, wings held close to his body as he stayed there on the Bean’s shoulder.

“Did I wake you?”

“Nah, if your snores can’t wake me up old man I doubt anything could.“

That caused a laugh from Phil, Tommy staying perched on despite the shakes, Phil was still crying a bit, but the laughter felt nice. The smaller avian smiled, burrowing into Phil’s neck as he reached up and placed a hand on Tommy to almost hug him, a sniffle coming from Tom.

“You okay mate?”

“Yeah,it’s just… I wish they were here with us.”

“Me too Tom, me too.” Phil replied, sighing again as he sat down, softly stroking Tom’s hair.

“It’ll be okay mate. They’d- they’d want us to carry on…”

“Yeah, Wil would’ve cracked a joke here I think. Techno would maybe have laughed in his usual way, patting your back…” Tom mumbled to himself, just staying as close to Phil as he could.

“Yeah, probably.” Phil said with a sad smile.

“I think… I’ll be okay… won’t we Dadza..?”

“Yea… yea mate,”

“We’ll be okay.”

Regarding the Wilbur Soot allegations…

Wilbur Soot is gone; As far as I'm concerned, the Wilbur Soot we knew is dead now... the one we knew and loved would never do the things he's done, all that's left is this, terrible abuser who I can’t even recognize. :,]

I believe… we can still make fics about the one we knew and loved, our Real Wilbur, not this- disgrace.

Separating the one we knew and loved from the disgrace that emerged from the ashes;

And so I had this fic idea… a smol Fic Idea: A tribute to the SBI, Phil and Tommy-centric with the two in grieving over the deaths of Wil and Techno, but after some bonding and comfort- g/t, the short fic would end with the simple words... "It'll be okay" to celebrate the life of Techno, as we are getting close to that time of the year again… when we lost the legend… and to celebrate the Wilbur Soot we knew and loved, but abhor what he has become.

Just to be clear: I 100% support Shelby, she’s a good person, who didn’t deserve any of what happened to her… or anyone else affected by Will…
