“If everyone else hs a ‘sona” (2010)

This one is an oddity, in that it was a parody and a legtimate study at the same time. 

So the joke was something around the lines of, if everybody else has a fursona, then I’ll have a leafsona. Insert some dumb jokes about pollinization and including references for the reproductive organs, and there you go. In the meantime? A somewhat serious study of an Alerce - Fitzroya cupressoides (Known in english as patagonian Cypress IIRC? even though the Chilean Cypress, Austrocedrus chilensis is a far more widespread species)

Funny, because my current screen name, Nothofagus, is also in reference to a tree genus. My creen name was Aguará-Guazú (Maned wolf) back then.

3.22.19: I used to only take math notes in pencil, but this week I tried using my green Frixion pen and it really helped me to focus. Guess this means I’ll have to get more of them soon.

Lately I've been wanting to challenge myself to not use green in my landscapes and explore more expressive colors. One thing that I've noticed is that when I paint my landscapes they're almost all exclusively green and it makes me feel limited to a certain degree. These are some trees which i was working on yesterday. I've be struggling to incorporate landscape ellement into my illustrations recently, so i though to create some trees which might help me ane see what works. I created the basic tree line the my posca brush pen then sent them to my laptop and played on photoshop to do my normal procedures. I tried using different shapes for the leaves. I really like how they turned and enjoyed creating them. Now i just need to put them into a illustration to see if they work or not.
