Martyn sighs as he hears a lute strum for the dozenth time that evening.

With Ren and BigB on his scaled back, they trekked through a mossy grove, low hanging canopies getting in the way of his face. When they weren’t directly in front of him, they grazed the top of his head.

The Sun had started to hang a while ago, a pool of navy spreading above them. With this, a chill arose in the air as well.

For an hour or two they’ve been looping around tree stumps and mushrooms, weeds and vegetation, in hope to find the exit of the forest. 

And every five-or-so minutes, Ren and BigB would start to sing the same song. Again. And again. With all of the noise, he couldn’t focus on the map he had in hand.

He can’t say he loves the noise.

Martyn loves the feeling of a fireplace warming his body! As well the feeling of a meal sitting nicely in his stomach, and they’d get to those thing quicker if he could think clearly.

But what Martyn can’t deny is that he loves them.

So when BigB leans his head against his and plucks a string, and Ren swings his legs and croons in a high voice, Martyn still sighs, but there’s a smile that follows.
