The two oldest OCs, lets test my memory … time for some deep dives! Come back with me, if you will, to 2011/2012 Darby brain.

1 What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?  I often draw or at least try to visualize OCs before I can end up naming them so it's usually appearance, but Izzy's might be "story". She came first, I just don't know if the purple hair design or wanting an OC inspired by the song Rebel Girl was her first inspiration.

I definitely had A Vision with her+the song of her being kinda young/new to her bisexuality absolutely idolizing another perceived Cooler Girl, perhaps to a fault. That was Chrissy, their dynamic actually changed a lot beyond that original start tho and was no longer the case since we've really gotten to know them. (and has since never drawn Chrissy in years) I think Izzy's more of the rebel than Chrissy was, anyway.

Nate's is definitely his hair, just wanted the long hair like a lot of grunge n rocker men. (most likely Anthony RHCP specifically) It was darker than it is now, pretty much black, but I can't remember why I changed it to brown!

3 How did you choose their name?  I think they're both too old for me to remember this because I don't often spend much time contemplating OC's names. I think Izzy sounds tough but sweet though, and I'm sure that was the goal. Nathan is literally just some guys name and these were my Just A Guy normal human OCs so.. 🧍‍♂️ plus it had shorter nickname potential which I always like!

11 Did you know what the OC’s sexuality would be at the time of their creation?  YES I'm sure they were both an iconic bi4bi couple, even when they weren't ORIGINALLY the end goal couple at the time of creating them. I'd only known they'd previously dated when creating them, but I knew ... Iconic.

19 What is your favorite fact about your OC? Ough, this is like the most impossible question bc theres so much to enjoy about my lil guys idk what the stand out favorite thing would be, but I'll try.

I like how Izzy has always wrote lyrics for the band with Nate, even before she had the confidence to sing in front of everyone, and I like that Nate got her to a place where she was able to sing in front of everyone. :) I also like Nate for his,,, stupid-optimism trait, he gets so confident in himself he forgets all reasoning. Like how often he climbs trees before remembering his awful fear of heights! Surely not THIS tree...! Love that for him..

Three Ships: Well I'm 28 (yeah I can't believe it either) so I think I'm done with ships, but.... I'm going to stan Jess Mariano for life. My biggest ship when I was 13 was Rory & Jess from Gilmore Girls and that still stands.

The Dean fans are right that she shouldn't have been sneaking around with Jess but also the Jess fans are right when they say as soon as Dean realized this he should have left. Jess was my ideal bf growing up and Milo is still pretty hot. Dean was cute but boring as hell even in season 1 before Jess came along. Logan is an asshole and I have no idea why someone would choose him. I never watched the Netflix thing, but I've heard some things about it that made me 😬 but I wasn't all that surprised really. The writing on that show lost some quality in the mid-late years that it never got back. And Rory's love life was always messy lmao.

A few Gilmore Girls notes:

1. Luke is the second hottest guy on the show. Sorry not sorry.

2. Dean is so boring and jealous... Give him a Southern accent and a hellish country cabin and he's Aidan from SATC lmao.

3. Hey ppl who produce and write teen shows wtf... In the early 2000's there was all this slut-shaming for teens who had sex before marriage so this led to teenage Dean randomly marrying a teenage girl who wasn't even pregnant. That was so stupid. One Tree Hill and Boy Meets World did that too. Jeez. IRL teenage marriage still exists in the US but this trend was OTT.

Last Movie: The Cable Guy... So ppl might find that movie offensive idk but I first saw this movie when I was a kid so idk I still kind of like it

Fun fact: Jerry Cantrell has the song Leave Me Alone in the end credits (yes it sounds like an AIC song!) But Mike McCready also had a song with a side band here. They just did this one song together that's it. It was a cover of a Velvet Underground song called Oh! Sweet Nuthin'. Mike's old bandmate from the band Shadow is in this band. They're called $10,000 Gold Chain and there's a video on YouTube for the song!!!

Currently reading: Nothing. I would love to get Debbie Harry's autobiography. Funny you mentioned Scar Tissue in the tags. I've read parts of that book many times. I should just buy it next time.

Currently watching: embarrassing, but The Partridge Family. It's something I watched with my mom growing up. It's better than The Brady Bunch imho. I do the opposite of binge watching. It's been at least two weeks and I'm still on season one. 😂
