Älskar hur alla som rebloggar bamsetrillingarna-pollen lämnar kommentarer om hur de växte upp med dem, hur de är deras vänner, ”de känner deras pappa”.

För såklart är de fiktionella men vi KÄNNER DEM. DE ÄR VÅRA VÄNNER. Bamsetrillingarna och deras klasskamrater representerade oss läsare som lärde oss om världen. Även om bamse, lille skutt och Skalman var huvudkaraktärerna så relaterade vi så mycket till barnens problem och vi kände oss sedda. Om inte av bamsetrillingarna så DEFINITIVT av en av deras klasskamrater (minns att många kunde relatera till Burre och hans problem hemma)

Jag minns att jag började trean samtidigt som jag läste hur bamsetrillingarna började trean på sin skola och jag kände att de verkligen växte MED MIG.

Jag undrar vad som hänt om de fick växa ännu mer och bli vuxna ibland. Förstås skulle det nog kanske inte vara så appealing att prata om tonårsproblem i en serietidning för barn, men man undrar just hur de skulle bli som vuxna.

Samt skulle det vara kul att se Brumma börja skolan. Minns hur Skalman diskuterade hur hon skulle få börja på en annan skola än de andra barnen, och det hade kunnat vara intressant att se en skola för barn med olika diagnoser och speciella behov. Bamse om nån tidning skulle kunna göra en bra och informativ serie om det.

The mist war

Pre-war

A large mist shrouded the steppe for as long as locals can remember, anyone who entered never came out or went mad.

After years of this and so many travellers getting so called ‘mist sickness’ from spending too ling in the mists, a group of powerful mages from onkairel decide to venture into the mist to dispel it, allowing easier travel. They enter the mist shrouded by every protective spell they have and manage to travel to the centre where they find a very large and powerful magestone.

A long time has past since the magestones were first built to bind away powers that were contained during the dissolution, so the mages don’t recognise the azeraad engraving. The mages all approach the magestone and touch trying to dispel the power in it, but the power of the latent god trapped in the stone is much greater than they can dispel, and he redirects that energy to shatter the magestone allowing him to let his power seep into the world and take control of the Onkairel mages.

The first battles

The god maintains the mist to hide an army of soldiers from the god’s lower plane. He also pulls through structures from his plane, parts of a castle built from black rock and giant bronze braziers that burn eternally with arcane flame. When his forces have amassed he decides to test their skill before marching on the powerful city of Onkairel. He marches on a small fishing village on a lake called Trean, and thinks that he left no survivors. However, without his knowledge, one woman escapes on horseback into the mist and manages to find her way to the magestone at the centre, but quickly sees the mages there and runs away to Onkairel.

The release of the god has changed the mist as it no longer has anything to protect, so the woman is able to reach Onkairel without going mad.

The mages of Onkairel are confused as to how she is sane, but she tells them everything about the mages in the centre of the mist and the magestone pieces that lay around them, with a few runes still intact. The mages and scholars decipher the pictures of the runes that the woman drew to discover that it is the binding place of a pretty powerful dieral god who was bound in the dissolution.

Onkairel calls for aid from all nearby cities especially the reliquary at north east city which is known for its magical knowledge. They hope to discover how the god was bound in the first place in order to re-bind him to a new magestone.

One sandwalker delegate from the southern desert is summoned as they routinely fight minor demons in the heat of the desert. The rest of their people swear that they will come when they can. The delegate, with the help of all of the craftsmen in onkairel, forge a ton of demon-slaying weapons to aid in the conflict if they do have to fight.

While Onkairel is preparing, the mist suddenly drops as the god’s army marches on the city. The mages are severely outnumbered and not well trained in combat, but they stand their ground.

Large battle begins between the demons and onkairel, and while the mages start to repel the god’s army, the army’s ranks are quickly replenished as demons are reformed in the plane and continue to travel through the broken magestone.

When all seems lost, the rest of the sandwalkers arrive and manage to fight off the demons and place protection around the city to buy time. The demons retreat temporarily as they can’t get through the wards.

The plan…

The demons prepare to attack onkairel again knowing that the ward won’t last long and the weakened mages would not survive a second attack. The mages, knowing they cannot eternally fight the returning demons, realise they have to close the gate and re-bind the god to the magestone.

The mages formulate a plan. They will send a group of the most powerful mages and druids and half of the army (including the majority of the sand walkers) east along the mountains then as soon as the demonic army moves to onkairel they ride for the magestone.

As soon as the demons reaches onkairel, the god feels the group interfering with the stone and calls his army back to him to stop the mages attack but they are too far away to act immediately. The sandwalkers and druids circle the stone and fight the demons away from the mages while the mages and paladins attempt to fix the binding on the stone.

…Goes wrong.

Feeling his influence in the mortal plane wane, the dieral god starts fighting back against the restrictions that keep him physically in his plane, and he manages to pull his form through into the world into the centre of the mages circle.

Now, this is bad, however Ez’s accords for the removal of gods from the mortal plane has a contingency for this where the Dieral god’s azeraad opposite is also released from their plane when he breaks free.

So suddenly two gods appear and begin fighting as the mages keep working on the magestone binding and the sandwalkers keep fighting the demons.

The fight continues and the Azeraad god baits the demon back to the magestone and a paladin to a dieral nature goddess manages to finish fixing the enchantment on the magestone and, channeling the energy of the goddess, creates a large tree that reaches out and grabs the Dieral god and pull his soul back through the rift to the abyss. His opposite Azeraad god inscribes it with a new binding so he would not be released again.

The Azeraad god is then pulled back to their plane, as their counterpart is also bound again, and the mages regroup and rebuild onkairel with the aid of the sand walkers and the paladins of the nature goddess and in her honour. The city of Onkairel becomes a mismatch of nature and magic with sand carvings and demonic protections which can still be seen to this day

This is a fun war which has little to no impact on any current plot, it is just fun to write.

I have had other asks about the tiel’drysar, so I will answer that part in another post and tag you when I do.
