This is kind of crazy because it reminds me of an idea I've had for years now, for a comic book called Big Country, which would have various short stories set in the South. One of them would have been about a raccoon wearing a raccoon-skin hat, on a quest to refill his empty moonshine jug. He would have stopped at a river to chat with the Wandering Philosopher, a shirtless guy wearing a pot on his head Johnny Appleseed style, about the perils of overfishing and irresponsible water usage. It would have been very funny but in a bizarre way that few people could appreciate but me, probably.
