No disrespect to Jeff Williams, but I really love the shift from (still very awesome) Power Ballad Butt Rock, to emotionally devastating Electronica Prog Metal brought on by Casey taking over the reins. If Volume 10 onward have soundtracks even half as good as Volume 9's, it would still be in the upper echelon of the show's music.

Note: a number of these songs are seemingly written with romantic love in mind, but I primarily chose ones where that love can still be interpreted as platonic and familial. I feel that the glue that binds the MQ/DF story together is the love and community that the Hero is a part of, so it was an inextricable part of my song choices.

I just want to jump onto the song thing real quick and suggest Trapdoor by Jeff and Casey Lee Williams

While I’m currently writing something for Ash based on the song, I first associated the song with Alain(mainly for an AU but that’s another conversation) and I feel it especially fits his feelings during the scene on the tower with Lysandre and after the crisis.
