#persona 4#p4#persona 4 golden#p4g#yosuke hanamura#hanamura yosuke#but he certainly does it with a lot of consistency and i love that so much#yosuke's not the first person to always include nanako#it makes me extremely soft because i feel like yosuke tries to be inclusive with his friends he doesnt want anyone to feel left out#we see it especially in his interactions with the first years and teddie#on some level he knows that the others are less willing to put themselves out there#thinking about the beach outing where kanji says that he would not have gone yo the beach if it wasnt for yosuke's invitation#anyway in this particular instance I'm just very very weak for yosuke looking out for nanako as well#i mean nanako is super cute (and i say that as someone who doesnt really like kids or kid characters) and everyone loves her (as they should#so in a way yosuke keeping her included is not surprising#but on some level its also just... yosuke being considerate of yu#i mean look at yu's title of siscon kingpin of steel in arena - yu cares very much for nanako#so by extension yosuke does as well#also on a more delulu lvl in p4d rise says she'll give nanako priv dance lessons#because it'll just be her yu and nanako and WOW isnt that just like... (giggles) - rises hilarious transparency aside#isnt that exactly what yosuke has with yu and nanako?#ngl im lowkey thinking about romcom single parent troupes and yosuke is just ticking all the boxes#ok ok im jking (im not)#he's good with his queue

The actor Junius Brutus Booth in costume as Edmund Mortimer in Shakespeare’s Henry IV, Part 1 (1823), painted by John B. Neagle
#shakespeare#the henriad#art#this was john wilkes booth's father.................. so for that reason i will not be tagging the actor by name lol#idk WHAT kind of weirdos i would invite to my blog by doing that but for historical transparency i did cite the actor#listen. i. he died in 1852 i bet he sucked as a person but he didn't assassinate anybody okay#the portrait is bitchin and i found it while looking up#henry iv part 1#i henry iv#william shakespeare#edmund mortimer#john b. neagle#i wish there were more resources to learn about the lady mortimer#i also wish she had more actual dialogue in the play i find her so interesting#i wonder what elizabethan performances were like of her!!! bc all of her dialogue is just [speaks in welsh] or [sings in welsh]#it makes it so hard to imagine her as a reader. normally i like the abstract exercise of envisioning plays in my head but#wo her own words it's so much less of an approachable challenge#i don't even speak welsh too#and i wonder what the history of her being represented on stage is like#did they normally have an actual welsh actor/actress play her? i sort of DOUBT it was originally like that in the 1590s#but im sure if it's a high-budget production done today it's only natural to seek out a welsh-speaking actress and have her collaborate#w her own dialogue? right?#it's so surreal too bc shakespeare's works almost never acknowledge differences in language#it rarely has much to do w the plot#the only other passing reference i can think of off the top of my head is 'twas greek to me' and that was offstage someone spoke greek#in julius caesar#idk!!!! man!!!!! i just find it interesting#most of shakespeare's characters wouldn't have even natively spoken english so it's just never mentioned#but in the history plays. well of course they spoke english they were englishmen! except those celtic ppls#who always come up as just. iconic charismatic bastards and rebels. it's a very prejudicial interpretation but i have fun w it

why pay money to a company that actively supports israel's genocide in palestine when you can just pirate all of these shows in hd like less than a day after they drop? /gen
Then pirate it ✨👍✨
I'm going to be very honest while believing in good faith you're not trying to be hostile. Please don't go into someone's ask box and talk politics, war, and genocide if their blog doesn't invite it. I don't post real world stuff often, if ever, for a range of reasons and I'm going to assume you're trying to be kind and compassionate so I'd like you to extend that here. You just don't know what headspace anyone is really in, this could really mess with someone for just potentially enjoying a show.
Personally I found this a bit rude and accusatory at first but if I want to ask you to extend some benefit of the doubt my way it's only right to extend the same yours. And honestly I'm sorry I originally read it so negatively. I never want to be a person that discourages compassion or empathy.
You don't know how I'm watching the show, IF I'm actually watching the show, just that I used Disney Plus as a # and that I'm at least interested in the show itself - excited we might've gotten it earlier then expected! That is not an endorsement of Disney itself or a call to action to pay for their subscription service. If you can/know how to pirate then go for it, if you personally don't want to even watch the show then that's fine too.
But there's no 100% pure, innocent, ethical way to enjoy anything. Everything in life has it's draw backs, Disney already has always owned PJO down to the publishers of the books. Disney owns a lot of things to the point it's scary. Protest with you wallet and don't give Disney your money. Let the mouse burn, that's completely fine. But don't tear yourself apart trying to be perfect and ethical in every way. Keep caring about the world and I hope your day is wonderful 💖

I hate it when some people social 8s feel entitled to your loyalty and obedience because they have simply decided that they are your protector and defender regardless of what you have to say about it.
Sometimes said people social 8s do genuinely good things for you. Sometimes they really do defend and protect you. I mean, the the theme of social 8s barging into your life and do-gooding for you without your consent is always the same... but sometimes you fall for it because you're like "meh this is alright, she's being helpful" also I can tell shes a psychotic madwoman and I can't be bothered dealing with the tantrum she will throw if I try to set any boundaries at all.
HOWEVER had you known why the social 8 was doing these favors for you -- so that they could hold it over your head later and use it to make you do horrible things, including but not limited to: turning away from people you love because they said so, being their emotional or physical punching bag, having sex with them -- you never would have let them do anything good for you at all.
You would have rather suffered and died at the hands of all the things they "protected" you from, actually. That's how cruel and disgusting these people are.
Yes such people exist. They are real. They are social 8s. They embody everything you hate about 2s with none of the positives.

okay as someone who was spoiled for both glass onion and knives out... it took away precisely ZERO entertainment value. yes i knew how they ended and though i wouldve loved a blind watch i still really enjoyed them.
people keep whining about the glass onion ending (as though its not literally the entire point of the metaphor) but like... its not at all a cheap ending. once its out the rest of the movie doesnt feel like a waste of time. the snooping is fun! the shit flinging and dirt digging is juicy!! the shooting is hair-raising! helen's grief and rage for her sister is moving!!!
people are just mad and making review tantrums because either they fell for it, hook line and sinker, and tried so hard to find the center that they looked clean through it because it wasnt one they liked- or they pegged it from the start and dont actually like murder mysteries and the storytelling skill that it takes to utilize them so much as like. puzzles. logic games.

saying it here as well because i’m serious about this
as a creator (a person you presumably want to support), adding an algorithm will instantly destroy my desire to create. you are not thinking of the bigger picture so let me help you. good people who just want a community to be a part of is not the only people waiting on the algorithm.
people who would love to see your community burn are there with louder voices. with the current system, you can easily control what you see, what you want, what you don’t want, etc. i’m gifting my art and writing and interests to people who enjoy the same thing, not throwing it down a river and hoping for the best. nor do i want to.
i don’t want to spend ten hours of my day just to give it to someone who’ll belittle me. i’m doing it because i want good feedback and some people want to see it.
if you want to be more transparent? here is a little suggestion. use the polls you have, maybe let the majority vote. listen to feedback, have an easier way to reach the staff. let ideas out and don’t shun people for fighting back.
i’ve left a lot of different platforms due to transparency issues and being ignored. i will do it again.
Tumblr’s Core Product Strategy
Here at Tumblr, we’ve been working hard on reorganizing how we work in a bid to gain more users. A larger user base means a more sustainable company, and means we get to stick around and do this thing with you all a bit longer. What follows is the strategy we're using to accomplish the goal of user growth. The @labs group has published a bit already, but this is bigger. We’re publishing it publicly for the first time, in an effort to work more transparently with all of you in the Tumblr community. This strategy provides guidance amid limited resources, allowing our teams to focus on specific key areas to ensure Tumblr’s future.
The Diagnosis
In order for Tumblr to grow, we need to fix the core experience that makes Tumblr a useful place for users. The underlying problem is that Tumblr is not easy to use. Historically, we have expected users to curate their feeds and lean into curating their experience. But this expectation introduces friction to the user experience and only serves a small portion of our audience.
Tumblr’s competitive advantage lies in its unique content and vibrant communities. As the forerunner of internet culture, Tumblr encompasses a wide range of interests, such as entertainment, art, gaming, fandom, fashion, and music. People come to Tumblr to immerse themselves in this culture, making it essential for us to ensure a seamless connection between people and content.
To guarantee Tumblr’s continued success, we’ve got to prioritize fostering that seamless connection between people and content. This involves attracting and retaining new users and creators, nurturing their growth, and encouraging frequent engagement with the platform.
Our Guiding Principles
To enhance Tumblr’s usability, we must address these core guiding principles.
Expand the ways new users can discover and sign up for Tumblr.
Provide high-quality content with every app launch.
Facilitate easier user participation in conversations.
Retain and grow our creator base.
Create patterns that encourage users to keep returning to Tumblr.
Improve the platform’s performance, stability, and quality.
Below is a deep dive into each of these principles.
Principle 1: Expand the ways new users can discover and sign up for Tumblr.
Tumblr has a “top of the funnel” issue in converting non-users into engaged logged-in users. We also have not invested in industry standard SEO practices to ensure a robust top of the funnel. The referral traffic that we do get from external sources is dispersed across different pages with inconsistent user experiences, which results in a missed opportunity to convert these users into regular Tumblr users. For example, users from search engines often land on pages within the blog network and blog view—where there isn’t much of a reason to sign up.
We need to experiment with logged-out tumblr.com to ensure we are capturing the highest potential conversion rate for visitors into sign-ups and log-ins. We might want to explore showing the potential future user the full breadth of content that Tumblr has to offer on our logged-out pages. We want people to be able to easily understand the potential behind Tumblr without having to navigate multiple tabs and pages to figure it out. Our current logged-out explore page does very little to help users understand “what is Tumblr.” which is a missed opportunity to get people excited about joining the site.
Actions & Next Steps
Improving Tumblr’s search engine optimization (SEO) practices to be in line with industry standards.
Experiment with logged out tumblr.com to achieve the highest conversion rate for sign-ups and log-ins, explore ways for visitors to “get” Tumblr and entice them to sign up.
Principle 2: Provide high-quality content with every app launch.
We need to ensure the highest quality user experience by presenting fresh and relevant content tailored to the user’s diverse interests during each session. If the user has a bad content experience, the fault lies with the product.
The default position should always be that the user does not know how to navigate the application. Additionally, we need to ensure that when people search for content related to their interests, it is easily accessible without any confusing limitations or unexpected roadblocks in their journey.
Being a 15-year-old brand is tough because the brand carries the baggage of a person’s preconceived impressions of Tumblr. On average, a user only sees 25 posts per session, so the first 25 posts have to convey the value of Tumblr: it is a vibrant community with lots of untapped potential. We never want to leave the user believing that Tumblr is a place that is stale and not relevant.
Actions & Next Steps
Deliver great content each time the app is opened.
Make it easier for users to understand where the vibrant communities on Tumblr are.
Improve our algorithmic ranking capabilities across all feeds.
Principle 3: Facilitate easier user participation in conversations.
Part of Tumblr’s charm lies in its capacity to showcase the evolution of conversations and the clever remarks found within reblog chains and replies. Engaging in these discussions should be enjoyable and effortless.
Unfortunately, the current way that conversations work on Tumblr across replies and reblogs is confusing for new users. The limitations around engaging with individual reblogs, replies only applying to the original post, and the inability to easily follow threaded conversations make it difficult for users to join the conversation.
Actions & Next Steps
Address the confusion within replies and reblogs.
Improve the conversational posting features around replies and reblogs.
Allow engagements on individual replies and reblogs.
Make it easier for users to follow the various conversation paths within a reblog thread.
Remove clutter in the conversation by collapsing reblog threads.
Explore the feasibility of removing duplicate reblogs within a user’s Following feed.
Principle 4: Retain and grow our creator base.
Creators are essential to the Tumblr community. However, we haven’t always had a consistent and coordinated effort around retaining, nurturing, and growing our creator base.
Being a new creator on Tumblr can be intimidating, with a high likelihood of leaving or disappointment upon sharing creations without receiving engagement or feedback. We need to ensure that we have the expected creator tools and foster the rewarding feedback loops that keep creators around and enable them to thrive.
The lack of feedback stems from the outdated decision to only show content from followed blogs on the main dashboard feed (“Following”), perpetuating a cycle where popular blogs continue to gain more visibility at the expense of helping new creators. To address this, we need to prioritize supporting and nurturing the growth of new creators on the platform.
It is also imperative that creators, like everyone on Tumblr, feel safe and in control of their experience. Whether it be an ask from the community or engagement on a post, being successful on Tumblr should never feel like a punishing experience.
Actions & Next Steps
Get creators’ new content in front of people who are interested in it.
Improve the feedback loop for creators, incentivizing them to continue posting.
Build mechanisms to protect creators from being spammed by notifications when they go viral.
Expand ways to co-create content, such as by adding the capability to embed Tumblr links in posts.
Principle 5: Create patterns that encourage users to keep returning to Tumblr.
Push notifications and emails are essential tools to increase user engagement, improve user retention, and facilitate content discovery. Our strategy of reaching out to you, the user, should be well-coordinated across product, commercial, and marketing teams.
Our messaging strategy needs to be personalized and adapt to a user’s shifting interests. Our messages should keep users in the know on the latest activity in their community, as well as keeping Tumblr top of mind as the place to go for witty takes and remixes of the latest shows and real-life events.
Most importantly, our messages should be thoughtful and should never come across as spammy.
Actions & Next Steps
Conduct an audit of our messaging strategy.
Address the issue of notifications getting too noisy; throttle, collapse or mute notifications where necessary.
Identify opportunities for personalization within our email messages.
Test what the right daily push notification limit is.
Send emails when a user has push notifications switched off.
Principle 6: Performance, stability and quality.
The stability and performance of our mobile apps have declined. There is a large backlog of production issues, with more bugs created than resolved over the last 300 days. If this continues, roughly one new unresolved production issue will be created every two days. Apps and backend systems that work well and don't crash are the foundation of a great Tumblr experience. Improving performance, stability, and quality will help us achieve sustainable operations for Tumblr.
Improve performance and stability: deliver crash-free, responsive, and fast-loading apps on Android, iOS, and web.
Improve quality: deliver the highest quality Tumblr experience to our users.
Move faster: provide APIs and services to unblock core product initiatives and launch new features coming out of Labs.
Conclusion
Our mission has always been to empower the world’s creators. We are wholly committed to ensuring Tumblr evolves in a way that supports our current users while improving areas that attract new creators, artists, and users. You deserve a digital home that works for you. You deserve the best tools and features to connect with your communities on a platform that prioritizes the easy discoverability of high-quality content. This is an invigorating time for Tumblr, and we couldn’t be more excited about our current strategy.

so tired of "cool kid" cliques bc the kids in it often aren't even cool, just assholes, and they're also usually boring as fuck w 0 talents besides maybe sportsball.
#im so BOOOOORED OF YOU#*glares at the recent shit going on on twitch*#and any of the people praising those idiots are the same idiots who'd do anything to be part of the clique meanwhile never truly being#invited. i promise they will never welcome you. they've made their personality into being assholes and bc they're so convinced they're#right to judge people that way their confidence convinces other people#truly these people need to be smacked and brought down a fuckin peg so they know they cant keep propping themselves up as super special#you're 'cool' but you cant even fight i bet huh bud#all those muscles and for what.#for fucking what.#often if you strip these people of their conventional eurocentric attractiveness (yeah frogan looks white idc what you say lmao)#no one would think they're popular and would just find them to be stuck up assholes.#not sure who needs to hear this but a good way to actually judge people correctly is to imagine they looked like the least attractive perso#to you. and then listen to the shit they say. and then come and tell me how cool and fine it is actually and how you totally listen to#other streamers who are less attractive who say the same shit and you're totally totally not just following what hasan says all the time#bc you think hes attractive. thats toooooooootally not the reason. surely not. esp for these fandom brained far left idiots. surely not.#😒😒😒😒😒😒😒 yall are so fucking transparent lmao.#theres a specific person ik that if i could force her to see hasan as ugly and then start listening to him i might actually be able to get#through to her. bc ik for a FACT thats the only reason she likes him. ik her too damn well lmao.#tell me about how you totally listen to mikefrompa as well as hasan and aren't inherently repelled by whatever he says bc you find him#less attractive. im begging you to try to lie to me about that.
