Reasoning: His entire story arc in the first chapter is so trans-coded! His discomfort with becoming a princess and him telling his mom to call him Zipp especially. Plus, dude is LITERALLY the colors of the trans flag; I don’t know about you, but I’m not sure if you can get much more trans than that.

something that really pisses me off is transmasc headcanons of butch and tomboyish characters, specifically rainbow dash and zipp. girls can be masculine! girls can like sports! girls can like science! by insisting that those characters are men is just reinforcing gender stereotypes. stop it

G5 redesigns to go with my G4 redesigns ^_^ Decisions and such under cut

Sunny: I wanted to make Sunny more rowdy looking! She's a bit of a fighter as well as a peace maker, after all! For her alicorn form I also figured to give her a cuter rainbow mane because... well. I'm not a fan of her canon rainbow mane, sadly.

Izzy: As a craftspony, I figured I should give her some stitch and paint patterns over her body. I also included a paintbrush behind her ear so she always has access to something to keep up with her imagination.

Hitch: I decided to give him more ocean-like colours, as I feel like it just shrimply fits his general colour palette. The paw on his cutie mark would also signify his true talent <3

Pipp: I really like her chubbier model in TYT and I wanted to do more with it! I also don't think she's a strong flyer due to her fluffy wings, as I imagine they're something a young(er) pegasus would have instead. I also wanted to give her a crown but while still keeping her popstar look ^_^

Zipp: Well honest to god I just wanted to make Zipp transmasculine because like.. come on he is. I also tried to include patterns in similar places to his sister ^_^ Unlike Pipp's fluffy wings, his wings are more aerodynamic.
