I have a small team working on getting an English translation to go up for this and wondering if there are many more who are still looking for this story's novel. We're currently up to chapter 50 of the novel, and no, we have not posted it anywhere just yet.

As of now, we have all the RAWs from the main novel to the two side story volumes. We have also done an initial translation of all of it through AI/MTL, but we're editing the entire piece to be readable and as accurate as it can be.

If anyone's interested in helping the translation project (mostly beta-reading what has already been edited by the main translator), please shoot me a DM.

Légendes rustiques by George Sand, completed English translation

Les Légendes rustiques is a collection of twelve creepy French folk legends gathered up and written down by George Sand and illustrated by her son, Maurice Sand, published in 1858. These stories were collected in the Berry region, but there are connections made to legends from Brittany and Normandy as well.

I came across a mention of the Rustic Legends a few years ago and realized there was no official English translation available, despite that George Sand is a very famous author. It turns out, Sand was such a prolific writer that much of her work has never been translated into English. I ordered a "translation" from Amazon and was disappointed to find that someone had just run the text through translation software without any editing or providing any cultural context. It was unreadable and I threw it in the trash.

I asked some fandom friends if they would be interested in trying to translate all twelve legends into English on our own. It has been a few years and each story has had several revisions and rounds of editing. This was a challenging translation project - there are many words in archaic French or not in French at all. Thanks to everyone who helped - I am really proud of the results here.

The purpose of this project is simply to make these twelve legends accesible to an English-reading audience. They have been available in the original French at Project Gutenberg for a long time. Use this post as a table of contents - each line will take you to a new story published on Tumblr. Sometimes they are creepy, they are often funny, and Sand's rambling style is cozy, making you feel like she is sitting right across a candle from you, telling you a story she once heard from someone else, a long time ago. So, today I was hired as the head leader of one of the graduation project groups. I was literally praying for this role, and I hope I don't disappoint myself before anyone else. I will have to translate, edit, supervise and submit the whole group work by May 3rd—along with an individual research paper. We're going to translate a book about translation.

Am I excited? Yes. Am I nervous? Hell fucking I am. But I really wanted this and I don't wanna ruin it. Wish me luck, I'm finally gonna do something I want to be proud of.

i need help for a translation project

Hi ! My name is Lily, and first languagfe is French. I can understand english, and at some extent, speak it, but let's say that i'm better at understanding it than at speaking it. Anyways.

Recently, i played a game called "Silent Debuggers", it's a game that released in 1996 on the PC engine, or Turbografx 16 if you prefer. This game was hated by many, but a lot of people who played it loved it, and, oh let's just go straight to the point :

I want to tranlaste this geme in my language, so, in french, which is a country in which the turbografx 16 never was (officially) released.

The main problem i'm encountering, is that the game was pretty badly translated in english, and i don't understand japanes (yet). this isn't really a prolem, considering that i will translate it from the EN version first, and then from the JP version, so the OG one when i'll know more about it, THE REAL PROBLEM, is.....

well the problem is that the turbografx is a console that never was popular. like seriously. Did you knew that this console existed before this post ? if yes, you probably know that it only was released in the USA and in japan... which mean that the turbografx has an almost inexsitent modding community. if this modding community even exist..... Which is why i need your help !

i don't know if there are people that ever modified texts from games on the turbografx

so, if you know anybody that would be interested into a translating project, or people that know, well, how to ,,, man i'm forgeting how to speak english as i'm writting this, people that know how to modify text in turbografx games, or that woul like to help to discover how to do it, i'd be happy to talk with them ^^

If you stumbled upon this blog while browsing or otherwise, welcome to this silly little project I’ve decided to undergo.

This blog is dedicated to collecting and translating material relating to the 卑怯戦隊うろたんだー (Better known as Urotander, Underhanded Rangers in English) Vocaloid song by Shin-P, it’s sister songs (それが僕らのジャスティス"/That’s our justice and Shinjitsu no Ken -The Sword of Truth-) and the fanbase that sprang up around it.

This fanbase is almost entirely unknown over here in the west and has been dormant for several years up now with a full cast of characters and organizations (as well as some lost media possibly) spread across several websites up until now.

In light of this song’s 15th birthday and my sudden discovery of this fandom, I will be trying my best to translate as much material as I can about the world of Urotander into English to give it more exposure to something I feel is severely underrated.

I will do my very best to give each and everyone credit both to the artists and to anyone who wants to aid in this endeavor.

Note: I am not a native Japanese speaker and most of this work will/has been done using various translator services so do expect some wonky phrasing. On top of that, I highly encourage any and everyone who wants to help contribute to this project to help out if they want.
