I'm on a roll with all this movie craze! Rather than just watching them for the fun of it, thanks to technology, I'm able to pause and stare at shots all day long - AND browse screenshots online! Crazy! Another score for the internet!

As you can see in all 4 study works, my focus wasn't really to properly recreate the scene at all. I wanted to focus on the "vibe" of it. My method was to take a screenshot I liked, blurred the image, pick some colors to make a base palette, and start reconstructing the scene and refining it until I can feel the "vibe" of it similar to the original.

Some places are more blotchy, some with more details (example: I added more details to Optimus' face than the rest of the artwork, because the Bayverse movies' autobot models have very complex details in their faces, and since that was one of the introductory scenes for the bots (VERY iconic!) I needed to make it a statement)

Things I liked or enjoyed doing in each study:

Optimus' face and the yellow-blue contrast between man and robot - flesh n' bones v.s. cold alien metal

Sand! The hills and the dusty horizon! Footprints in the sand! It's so silly, but it works, doesn't it?

The saturation of the skin for especially the hand, making it the point of attention. I always liked that of the original shot, besides the flying bullets

The flare scene... bguh... all that contrast goodness, so much that the moment I watched it for the first time, I just knew I had to redraw it one day!

here's my 2 cents on the matter

Given that the canon designs were designed by SOUNDWAVE in-verse, it makes sense that they don't reflect the team very well.

In-verse.

The designers in the real world, however, could have done the team a bit more justice.

the canon "human" designs in the show are so boring and don't really suit them at all- ESPECIALLY Prowl's and Bumblebee's- it's just literally just his holoform - why is he a child but Bulkhead an adult they are the SAME FUCKING AGE

Seriously though...

Like- you can SEE potential in the direction of they were trying to go in their outfits but their just so BLAND in execution.

TRANSFORMERS (2007) Dir. Michael Bay

So I rewatched the first Michael Bay transformers movie last night. I forgot how enjoyable it is. As someone who was an awkward teen Sam whitwicky is an amusing character to watch because I to would have freaked out if my car was a giant alien robot. And honestly I would also put on a brace face to impress the pretty girls I go to school with. The bots are also just so funny to watch at parts because they just don’t understand human customs and rules. The military parts are interesting to watch and they really reflect the time. But not in a horrible way it shows the tension in the world post 9-11 and how seriously every threat was taken. The military guys are not these indestructible ass holes. They are stressed out guys who are thrust into this wild situation and are doing the best they can with there limited information. Sector 7 is a blatant display of how the military is stone walled in some ways. They don’t give any information unless they are in danger and they blatantly break laws by searching the whitwicky home without a warrant. It’s not rich in lore or the best story we’ve seen from transformers but it’s an enjoyable film to just put on and watch every once in a while. Now I’m not a fan of the later bay movies but the first two are some that I really enjoy watching with my family and an easy transformers film to show friends without them getting lost.

Even in the Bayverse movies, Optimus would rather Sam put the Allspark in his chest instead of Megatron's. It was Sam that deduced if Optimus were to die from pushing the Allspark into his chest, it would do the same to Megatron.

A Brand New Car

Summary: You're father buys you a shitty 1977 Camaro that looks one step from it's grave. But it seems, you might see the grave faster.

You were finally getting a car, much to your pride. Your father told you he got the perfect car for you. Imagine your surprise when your father pulls up in 1977 Chevrolet Camaro.

"Oh."

"What?"

You look to the beaten car, before looking back at your father. He probably got it for less than a cartoon of eggs. "It's.... Well, something..."

And that's all you say.

The next day, you try and start the car, but it wasn't turning on. You groaned, hitting the steering will, which caused the radio to turn on. You were surprised, since the car wasn't on, but it quickly turned off. Like it had never happened.

You practically out of your car and get your father, telling him you need a jump. He's a little to enthusiastic to help you start your car. Maybe he just wanted you to get your freedom as quickly as possibly, because then he'd get his own.

You drove half way to school, before the wheel starts turning on it's own and lands in a ditch, out of commission again.

"You gotta be kidding me." You groan and fall back into your seat. This was going to be so much harder than you originally thought.

Your phone goes off and you quickly answer it.

"Hey girl, where are you?"

"Sorry, my car got stuck in a ditch. I think I need power steering fluid or something because the wheel just steered on it's own-"

"Car?" Your friends voice heightens. "Your dad finally got you a brand new car??"

"It'd be brand knew if it was 1978."

"Oh." She clicks her tongue. "At least you have a car. Some aren't so lucky."

"I guess. I just wish this stupid thing would work." At your words, your car suddenly turns on, surprising you. "Holy shit- I have to call you back." You hand up on her, as you slowly pressed the gas to get out of the ditch. "You know what, maybe this won't be so bad."

It was late. Really late. Like the time of night only criminals were out. You awoke because you heard a loud bang. You sat up in your bed and looked around, before slowly heading downstairs.

Your parents were still dead asleep.

You slowly make your way outside, looking all around but all you see is your car. Nothing else was there. You sigh, lowering the lamp you had brought with you in case someone was trying to break in.

You turn around to head back inside, when suddenly you hear a radio. You look back, to see a light on in your car. Maybe the radio was connected to something solar powered? Who knew.

You open the car window and sit inside, before turning off the radio. As you were going to get out, your car door locked. You kept fiddling with the handle, but it wouldn't budge. You tried banging on the window, but it wasn't working. Your car starts up and suddenly you're being driven off.

You were slowly panicing, before the radio plays.

"Don't! panic!"

You look at the radio confused. "What?"

"You're- safe- with me!" The radio station keeps changing to combine words into broken sentences.

"I'm sorry. I don't understand? Are you... Alive?"

"Yes! Sentient Creatures- We are-."

"We?"

"Yes."

You take a deep breath, before pinching yourself and yelp when you felt the sharp pain. "I guess I'm not dreaming. Where are we going... um?"

"Bumble." An ad for the dating app. You recognized the annoying voice. "Bee!"

"Bumblebee?"

"Yes! Hallelujah!"

"Okay... Bumblebee... Uh, where are you taking me?"

"The- Others."

"Oh, you mean the We?"

"Uhuh. Yes."

"Okay. I mean, what's the worse that can happen?"

I HC Moonracer’s was in the last group of cadet’s Rodimus trained and that she and her boot camp buddy’s might have been the reason he was so desperate to get back in field.

She learned a lot under him, though she is annoyed that he doesn’t entirely trust her aim to this day.

Hello Tumblr! This is me posting on why is Mikaela a better option of protagonist than Sam.

I know the reason why Sam is the way it is, it's because they wanted people to feel identified by a character that's an average and simple person, I guess that's an interesting idea, however, Sam wasn't a very good example of this, they want to show a guy who is nice and find himself being brave at some point. But when I see the movie, I just see a horny teenager who did what he did just because he was involved in it, and to impress a gal, cause there wasn't an option, you can put make up on it by adding those scenes of him saying badass stuff... But that's not enough for me, the character itself seems as a lazy example of what they wanted to show, there's no flavor in it.

And then they made Mikaela as his romantic interest and it's crazy how she's better constructed than he is.

Her past is very interesting, let's start with that. She was considered a criminal at some point, but she had her reason. Then all the school looked as her just as a "sexy and privileged girl who is the gf of the popular guy", they saw her just as their "hot classmate", and not by what she actually is, and this is probably because she didn't wanted them to know the truth, because it's dangerous for her future.

Now, they could've used this to make the kind of character that did something wrong, but then risks it all to save the world, find her place and gain the forgiveness from her crimes.

She is a mechanic, what made her really interesting as a TF human protagonist, similar as Charlie, this ability of her is very useful for her alien comrades.

She is also brave, mature, and responsible.

She had her doubts at the beginning when she first saw Bumblebee, Sam convinced her in that part, but as he did it so easily, I think, without Sam there, a little chat with Bee would've been enough to make her change her mind. Even after that, she didn't questioned to keep helping the Autobots every time she could during the movie, not because she just had to be there, but because she actually wanted to help, she saw Bumblebee more as an individual than as an object, feeling bad for him when he got hurt (Sam kept calling him "my car" as if he was some pet or something that he own, he kept this behavior the next movies)

The reason why we couldn't see more of her interacting with the bots is because she wasn't the protagonist, even in the next movie, her role was mostly secondary, and all her relevance there was to add some drama to the relationship... The rest is just Sam doing his stuff (zzzz) they just throw most of the character to the trash, her only purpose was to be the badie of the movie, what's a shame, since it could've been more interesting.

Her character in the first movie felt more real than her boyfriend, more organic, she had problems, she wasn't perfect, and she had more feelings than being horny and trying to make the other character fell in love with her.

She was witty when she had to take actions.

I mean, is sad how they just putted her in the hot girl place, while giving her an interesting personality and background, jut to throw that, because they were more interested in taking shoots of the actress being sexy, and all of what surrounds her is just the fetish of someone who wanted a "bad girl", that's also smart and brave to fell in love with him, it's unfair. Meanwhile they gave us sam who is less interesting and irritating... Like, do you have a brain that works? The movie is very interesting, I think, it could've worked better for me with a better human protagonist.
