After checking through the rediscovered notes for the new-old colony au, because it's been on my mind, I've discovered I didn't just have one human cult in that au but two, with directly opposing opinions about the cybertronians (the Acolytes of Technion and the Radicals respectively)
Which, in 2025 hindsight, could lead to funny situations if it was more lighthearted
#new-old colony au#though taking a closer look while the AoT might've started out worshipping the transformers they might not directly do that by the present#it's more that they're obsessed to the *idea* of the cybertronians and don't have benevolent intentions#there's also a collective governmental organization that wants rid of the autobots_ decepticons_ and neutrals on Earth#but hey that's not a unique idea in Transformers ig :)#the more I look into these notes it becomes immensely obvious this is another fan continuity I did all the worldbuilding for#but then I promptly forgot about it#...which means I can absolutely cannibalize these ideas four years later#maccadam#transformers#unnamed characters#don't ask who Technion is/was. Tiamat and Jormungandr
For some reason my titan oc post has been gaining traction lately, so I thought I'd finally add another installment of lore for y'alls. This time it's some more about the titans-their personalities, physicality, etc. Enjoy! (also please forgive me I still don't know how to make the drop down thing so this is just going to be a wall of text)
Tiamat:
Tiamat is a very kind and caring Titan, absolutely adoring her ‘children’ and constantly keeping an eye on them as they grow and change with time. As any good mother should, she shepherds her flock through her Cityspeaker and continues to create new life within her mighty body every few hundred thousand years. She has not forgotten her titanic clash with Jormungandr, but she believes that she and her children are quite safe from the warmongering Titan on Sumakkalon. This sense of safety comes from the fact that all Titans have a degree of ‘interconnectedness’; it allows Tiamat to determine that Jormungandr is indeed still alive, but he is far enough away that their bond is very stretched and thus is a safe distance away. However, she does not care for the exploits of space outside of trade with other races for the betterment of her children, as she still knows that there is danger lurking amongst the stars. Thus, Sumakkalon maintains a pseudo-isolationist policy, only nurturing trade relations with other colonies and species as opposed to political and military alliances. Her children mean everything to her, and if needed she will unleash a fury like no other to defend them. However, she also wholeheartedly believes in the power of her children and is quite happy to let them march through time on their own. Though she helps them with her quarterly speeches, she purposely remains cryptic in order to let her children grow on their own and forge their own path in life instead of simply following her orders. She is incredibly proud of what the Sumakkalonians have become, and she looks forward to seeing them continue to innovate and evolve. She also feels quite blessed that her children pay attention to her and venerate her so much-she quite enjoys all of the religious ceremonies that they do!
If Tiamat must rise again and fight, she possesses vast strength and knowledge with which to do so. She wields a massive spear as her weapon. Tiamat’s lower half in robot mode takes on the form of a gigantic snake’s tail and her face is fashioned into a snarling snout. Buildings stack to form great ‘wings’ jutting from her shoulders as well. Fingers form deadly claws, fangs line her snout, and piercing yellow optics gaze on all below her. Her plating is as tan as the desert sand, accented by earthy brown, brilliant Turkish blue, and shimmering gold.
Though she maintains a consistent presence in Bahamut and the rest of Sumakkalon, Tiamat is still technically slumbering. Her body is dormant and her mind is active, but that means she cannot maintain herself other than her routine, biological maintenance systems. More extensive maintenance is necessary, as the harsh sun and semi-arid climate wear on her armour over time. Thus, the Servants of the Mother make sure to take care of her body inside and out.
Within Tiamat’s body are countless rooms, with her body being so vast that there are many rooms that even the most dedicated of the Servants cannot find. However, certain rooms hold particular significance:
Temple of the Mother-The central dome of Tiamat’s ziggurat mode, the Temple of the Mother is an auspicious ritual space in which the monthly Devotionals, the Parental Bonding, the Passing On, and the quarterly Judgements are held. It is open to the public during these events, but only these events. Other than those specific times, the Temple of the Mother is open to the Voice of the Mother, the Sacred Blades, and the Servants of the Mother only.
Mother’s Mind- This holy chamber is the space that contains Tiamat’s brain module and is only accessible by the Voice of the Mother, who only enters the chamber to speak directly with the Titan. No one other than the Voice of the Mother and their Sacred Blades know where the chamber is. The walls are a beautiful Turkish blue and are covered in golden lights, and right before the brain module sits a lavish rug and a small altar on which the Voice of the Mother lies to begin their communion with Tiamat.
Pool of An- A very plain chamber, the tan walls are decorated only with a relief of the golden optics of Tiamat gazing down at the pool. This relief is meant to symbolize the Mother watching over her unborn children. The lights in the room are very dim so as to not irritate the children. At the center of the circular room lies a pool of sentio metallico, and deep within the depths of that pool lies Tiamat’s hotspot. The sparks emerge from the hotspot directly into the sentio metallico, thus allowing them to begin forming bodies as soon as they are born. This chamber is always guarded by only the most pious and trustworthy members of the Fangs of the Mother, and only Warming Sun can open the doors to access it (she is the only one that Tiamat approves of for opening the doors).
Pool of Nintinugga- When a Sumakkalonian dies, their lightless spark casing is brought to this pool by Psychopomp, leader of the Ashes of the Mother. Once the spark casing is placed within the pool, its essence is reabsorbed into Tiamat’s life-giving systems and will essentially be ‘reincarnated’ by having aspects of its essence go into the forging of newsparks in the Pool of An. The dimly lit chamber the pool is in is a deep Turkish blue and decorated with a relief of a spark being eaten by Tiamat and its essence travelling down into her ‘womb’; a representation of the ‘reincarnation’ cycle. Only Psychopomp has access to this chamber, though it is heavily guarded by the Fangs of the Mother.
Fire of Ereshkigal- This chamber is quite different from the others, as it is brightly lit and decorated with semi-precious stones like jasper and lapis lazuli that have encrusted the walls into gemstone swirls and calligraphy. In the center lies a pit of molten metal, sentio metallico heated to boil by Tiamat’s internal heating system. The sparkless body of a dead Sumakkalonian will be placed in the molten metal by Spirit and Temporal, the two Ashes of the Mother whose job it is to ritually burn the bodies of the dead so that their metal may be recycled back into Tiamat’s systems.
Jormungandr:
Jormungandr is an incredibly fierce and warrior-like Titan who loves nothing more than to fight and conquer. He fully believes in the rule of the powerful and strong, and so takes on the opinion that his children should be equally as strong as he. Strangely enough, this belief in the strongest shall survive creates within him a strange kind of honour. He will pay great respect to any foes who he deems strong and mighty, instructing his children to do so as well. They still must win over these other civilizations, but they will most certainly not be forgotten by Jormungandr. On the other hand, he has no problem telling his children to crush obviously weaker societies under their pedes. They do not deserve to live, in his mind. Furthermore, no one holds a grudge like Jormungandr. He still despises Tiamat for her weakness and especially for her taking his right optic, so he is constantly monitoring the interconnectedness of the Titans to ensure that she is still somewhere out there. She must be, so he and his children can kill her and every single one of her wretched spawn. He knows she’s still out there, as do his children, so he remains satisfied that he will have the pleasure of killing her one day. This grudge, along with his general militancy, is the reason why he encourages his children to be so war-like along with traveling the stars so much. He wants them to be prepared for all sorts of battles that will inevitably come when he finally finds Tiamat, and he wants them to find her in the first place. Unlike the Sumakkalonians, the other Titan is not a legend to them. Jormungandr has told them Tiamat exists and must be stopped, and they believe him. As such, he has carefully cultivated the culture of Bua Iss into a war-mongering, star-traversing one in order to further his own ideology and thirst for revenge.
Outside of his hunger for battle, Jormungandr is actually quite caring and protective. Like a wolf father, he cares for his children with a viciousness and protectiveness unrivaled by even Tiamat. This protectiveness makes him a very chatty Titan as a result, as he is constantly wanting to help his children thrive and rise up as the most dominant people around. He can be quite gruff with them though, as he fully believes in tough love. He encourages his children to face defeat with an open mind and courage, as defeats are simply learning opportunities and signs that one needs to educate oneself to improve. He also encourages the Bua Issans to constantly search for new experiences and opportunities, as growth and education are key to domination. One needs to know their enemy to thoroughly defeat them! He is incredibly proud of his children and all that they have accomplished, seeing great things for them in the future. He also knows that they will always have a future, as every hundred thousand years or so his hotspot brings forth a new generation of Bua Issans. Furthermore, he knows that they will always be protected by his beloved pets Huginn and Muninn, absolutely massive raven-shaped drones who stand sentinel at the mouth of the fjord.
If push must come to shove, or if the Bua Issans find Tiamat, Jormungandr will rise again from his slumber to sound the horn for war. Wielding a truly massive skeggøx (bearded axe) as his weapon, Jormungandr has a truly impressive amount of knowledge about warfare and the ferocity to match his skills. In robot mode, his lower half looks like the tail of a sea serpent complete with gunmetal grey, black, and dark blue plating to match. His torso resembles a very heavily armoured warframe build, and his helm looks like a horned Viking helmet.
When transformed into his city form (which is most of the time), his torso resembles a massive Norwegian-style church with sharp points while his arms slam down in front of this ‘church to become two massive longhouses. His tail becomes numerous smaller buildings, typically small homes. In this mode he remains in a slumber, though his consciousness is active enough to regularly engage with the Ormstunga (cityspeaker-it means ‘serpent tongue’ in Old Norse). Throughout his body he has many, many rooms, with many of the lower levels being used as public spaces and offices. On the upper levels are the more exclusive rooms, with the most important being:
The Mindpeak: The highest point of Urnes, this chamber is where Jormungandr’s brain module is. This chamber is the only place in Bua Iss that is not accessible to the public, being reserved only for the Ormstunga. It is constantly guarded by the Gaetta, a special warrior branch of the Kind. Inside the Mindpeak, the walls are beautifully decorated with ‘tattoos’ depicting the battles Jormungandr has participated in, including his titanic struggle with Tiamat. There is also a ceremonial bed carved with the images of serpents that the Ormstunga lies down on when communing with Jormungandr.
The Ormstunga’s Chamber: A small, cozy nook that Jormungandr himself made for his Ormstunga, this chamber is on the level of the Urnes just below the Mindpeak. It is meant to be a haven for the cityspeaker in order to further their connection to Jormungandr. Personally, Sunsnow doesn’t like the chamber and prefers to be outside, as she finds Jormungandr’s presence in her mind to be oppressive. The only time she spends in it is to sleep and to complete her duties, most of which involve her standing out on the balcony extending from the chamber to allow her to address the hordes of Bua Issans.
The Timberfell: A large, open room on the same floor as the Ormstunga’s chamber, this room is utilized by the Ormstunga to complete the carving of the ceremonial skuta used in the Journey. It is absolutely filled with timber and tapestries, with the timber being used to create the skuta and the tapestries serving as inspiration for the intricate carvings woven into the wood. It is also constantly guarded by the Gaetta.
The Alarum: Unlike the other important, non-public rooms in the Urnes, the Alarum is located deep within the very foundation of Jormungandr’s torso. This is the location of the Titan’s hotspot, and thus the place where all Bua Issans are born. It too is constantly guarded by the Gaetta. The dimly lit chamber is primarily illuminated by the hotspot itself, which is located directly in the center of the room. It is covered by a pool of sentio metallico which flows down into the pool from two ‘waterfalls’. The Kind have determined that the sentio metallico is constantly being drawn through Jormungandr’s body and replenished by his systems; once refreshed, it comes into the chamber through the waterfalls. If not used, it simply flows through the Titan’s body again.
The Haugr: Another important room located within the foundation of the Urnes, the Haugr serves as a special crypt for the bodies of deceased Ormstunga. This very cold, dark, linear room is covered in intricate carvings of knots, and stone coffins line the walls of the room. There is a single pathway through the middle of the room, boxed in by coffins on either side. No one really knows how long the room is, as the only section that is lit is the one with the coffins in it, one light over each coffin. Only the bravest of the Gaetta guard this creepy room.

(A lil rambling on queer discourse outside and inside the fandom from a genderfluid bisexual)
One of the most enduring tensions within queer communities — especially as queerness becomes more visible in media, fandom, and state-sanctioned institutions — is the question of assimilation vs radicalism. And no, this isn’t new. We’ve been circling this debate since at least the post-Stonewall era, and arguably since before the term “homosexual” was even coined.
I. “Normalization” as Strategy
The move to normalize queerness — to make queer relationships legible to heteronormative society through things like marriage, monogamy, parenthood, or even just public respectability — has roots in practical survival.
Think: the Human Rights Campaign’s messaging, “Love is love,” marriage equality, queer representation in sitcoms and yogurt commercials.
This direction can be read as a bourgeois political strategy (Duggan, 2002), often referred to as “homonormativity.” It prioritizes “acceptable” queer subjects (cis, middle-class, often white, often masc) who resemble their straight counterparts as closely as possible — except for the gender of their partner.
And it’s true: this has tangible benefits. Legal protections. Cultural legitimacy. Safety.
But this approach also comes with costs. It sidelines queer people who don’t fit the norm — trans people, poly folks, kinky folks, poor people, disabled people, racialized people. It risks transforming queerness from a challenge to dominant systems… into a rebranding of them.
II. “Preserve Queerness” as Resistance
On the flip side, there are those who argue that queerness should remain fundamentally oppositional. That queerness is not just about who we love — it’s about how we live, what we disrupt, how we imagine new futures.
Think: José Esteban Muñoz’s Cruising Utopia, in which queerness is positioned as something not yet here, something utopian, always pointing beyond what is.
Here, the critique is not just of heteronormativity, but of the institutions that structure all our lives — the nuclear family, capitalism, the state, colonial timelines of success. “Queer” is a method, not just an identity. A verb, not just a noun.
But this view can also become rigid. When queerness is defined only by its capacity to reject, it risks becoming inaccessible to those who do want things like marriage or kids — especially if those things weren’t always accessible to them before. We shouldn’t turn queerness into a test people must pass to be “valid.”
III. And Yes, This Applies to Your Fanfic Discourse
This debate resurfaces constantly in fan spaces:
– Is shipping fixed top/bottom roles inherently heteronormative?
– Is using seme/uke language a form of internalized oppression?
– Is “switch hate” in fandom actually just queerphobia in disguise?
And the answer is… it depends. But more importantly, intention and context matter.
Queer codes like top/bottom, bear/twink, fem/butch emerged from the queer community as tools of navigation, identity, intimacy, and play. That they’re sometimes messy, stereotyped, or commodified doesn’t erase their history or usefulness. And yes — these codes have always intersected with fandom culture. Sometimes clumsily. Sometimes joyfully.
Fandom is not a political campaign. It’s a liminal space where fiction, fantasy, and projection collide — and trying to impose rigid moral frameworks onto it flattens the complex emotional and cultural labor happening there.
If you critique top/bottom dynamics in fic because you believe they replicate heteropatriarchal logic — fine. That’s a discussion worth having. But if your critique shames people for their preferences, you’re reproducing the same moral purity logic you claim to oppose.
IV. The Problem of the Queer Police
The worst-case scenario here is that we start using queerness not as liberation, but as a tool of internal policing. When queerness becomes something that must be performed correctly to be respected, it loses its radical potential.
If your queerness is only valid when it aligns with a particular brand of politics or aesthetics, we’re not breaking binaries — we’re just building new ones.
Queerness contains multitudes. It can be domestic or deviant. Normie or revolutionary. Tender or obscene. Apolitical or hyper-political. And it is still queerness.
To quote Eve Sedgwick:
“People are different from each other.”
And that includes how they ship, write, love, protest, fuck, and self-identify.
We don’t have to collapse queerness into one monolithic definition to protect it. We just have to trust that its range is part of what gives it power.

As someone who agrees with a decent amount of the pre-war Decepticon party’s views in certain continuities, some of y’all new fans are starting to piss me off with your belief that D-16 was correct in Transformers One. As someone who does a lot of community organizing and writes on sociopolitical theory vs. practice, especially within the context of the anti-colonial struggle (as well as the Black struggle simultaneously or separately depending on the context), a lot of the reasons you all choose to support D-16 and diss on Orion are actually obscene and you need to crack open a book. I normally don’t like shoving theory in people’s faces, as I think that it comes with a pedantic demeanor that relies on belittling people and feeding a moral superiority complex amongst academics. However, this is one of the cases where I think a lot of people truly need to take the time to read into why D-16’s emotions and initial reactions are valid, but the decisions he makes in providing solutions are wrong. That being said, I will be writing a paper on D-16’s fall from grace in conversation with Paulo Freire’s “Pedagogy of the Oppressed,” because a lot of the ways in which Freire discusses how the oppressed become their oppressors in the name of liberation, which is no fault of their own in some areas, is relevant to D-16’s transformation into Megatron. A lot of you are thinking with a more pathos-based means of societal change without thinking about realism, practicality, and actually analyzing D-16’s character and why he does what he does. It is more so an attempt at self-preservation and closure from embarrassment (specifically from taking the bait and living as a conformist) than an actual attempt at political change. I also encourage new fans to get more acquainted with Transformers continuities to better round their perspectives, as a lot of this is turning into the “Killmonger was right” discourse, which is problematic for a lot of reasons as a Black scholar who discusses Blackness, representation, and political discourse often in their writing. Seeing these really bad takes spread online, not only hurts how people interact with Transformers media in the future, but arguably indicates a rise of certain short-sighted political philosophies that translate directly into activism.

Earthspark is the show that proved Transformers fans actually do not like changes or new concepts and only rate a show or a comic as good if they catered specifically to their tastes.
Just like how people act like Transformers One is so new and refreshing when I can point out so many old shits that they borrowed from other continuities.
It's so funny in this fandom.
TF fans apparently have a very long history of hating cool new ideas, but I do feel especially frustrated with the way I see TF One vs. Earthspark treated. I think for people who weren't active in the fandom when the show began, it would be easy to think that the prevailing idea was that TF fans (other than bigots) generally liked it, but that seasons 2 and 3 ruined it, but the truth is, I saw tons of nitpicking of literally every aspect of the show the whole time it's been airing. Honestly, I even saw actual harassment. With the movie TF One, it seems like TF fans generally loved it. Also, when there is the occasional critical, angry post about TF One, you'll basically always see people defend the movie! But I constantly see people say stuff about Earthspark that's just factually incorrect, but rarely does anyone defend the show for some reason? I don't really understand what people wanted from Earthspark, and I don't really understand why people feel they got what they wanted from TF One.
I don't understand why a TF show starring a diverse cast of characters and voice actors that's focused on Blasian kids and explores so many big ideas like what an alt-mode means for a bot's identity, healing from colonialism, and understanding gender, and has some of the best fight scenes in TF history, great music, great designs etc. etc. is so hated... but the movie that has celebrity voice actors, only has two major women in it who are pitted against each other, features the characters voice acted by Black VAs in roles like the comedic relief who adds nothing to the plot, the oppressed bot who rebelled too violently, and the mentor who bestows powers on the heroes but then is executed, and that ends with the hero who was blessed by Transformers God banishing people to potential death in Quintesson-patrolled territory is so loved. Also I do agree with you, TF One is basically a reworked Aligned continuity. Earthspark, while having new takes on things, I would say takes many elements from all different continuities: mainly G1, but I also see plenty of TFA, the Beast era, IDW, and Aligned too.
...Also, just look at how Earthspark teased the Quintessons for so long and then showcases them so effectively vs. TF One in which the Quintesson doesn't even get to have multiple faces! lol I won't lie, I do find it very frustrating that Earthspark has such a meaningful story and lots of references to all different parts of the franchise but I rarely see this praised or noted... but then people cheered when like. There were names on a screen in TF One XD I remember excitement about details like Skyfire's name just being said but he wasn't even there! LMAO
#Oof this may be the rent-lowering gunshots meme#I did read your other ask BTW I just don't wanna beat a dead horse by complaining too much I think I examined the worst things already#negative#transformers one#TF One#transformers earthspark#my analysis#maccadam

as like The marxist leninist transformers fan (im literally in a ML political party and do revolutionary activism in my personal time)
im telling all of u rn
it is possible that BOTH d-16 AND orion pax were right. like. im begging all of you to not think about this in black and white. BEGGING you.
i have to literally sit down and watch the movie scene by scene and take notes to write the analysis i want to, but im going to give you something VERY brief.
Iacon City is NOT a fully fascist society. It is, in fact, a colony of the Quintessons. It is the victim of Quintesson imperialism.
Sentinel's leadership is absolutely on the path to fascism, but NOT FULLY fascist. Is Sentinel himself a fascist? Yeah, probably. But his societal development is not. this is not to say he isn't an evil dictator- HE ABSOLUTELY IS.
D-16 represents the proletariat's rage against the oppressor. D-16 represents the quote "Either place yourself at the mercy of capital, eke out a wretched existence as of old and sink lower and lower, or adopt a new weapon [violent revolution]-this is the alternative imperialism puts before the vast masses of the proletariat. Imperialism brings the working class to revolution." (-J.V. Stalin, the foundations of leninism).
Orion, Elita One, B-127 and D-16 represent the vanguard party. Orion is NOT like lenin whatsoever, except in his representation of revolutionary optimism, but the role he takes on is similar to lenin's role in the russian revolution simply because he finds himself as the leader.
NO WHERE IN THE MOVIE DOES ORION PAX TALK ABOUT REFORM.
ORION LITERALLY SAYS "I'm thinking about what WE'RE going to do." he AGREES with D-16 that something ABSOLUTELY has to be done about Sentinel. ORION LITERALLY LEADS A VIOLENT COUP AGAINST SENTINEL.
and, something that ALL of yall with this take are conveniently ignoring, is Orion's line "The rebuilding of Iacon cannot start with an execution."
WHICH, OBJECTIVELY, FROM A HISTORICAL STANDPOINT, IS CORRECT.
Yall remember the Chinese revolution in which they overthrew the emperor (who btw was just as evil as sentinel) and then literally turned him into a street cleaner?????
it IS possible to overthrow a violent, evil dictator and then exact revenge on them, while also building a far more moral society in the process.

Design for prima before the uprising
A gladiator from the city of tarn forced into the profession against her will, she's known as the "warrior of light" as a joke from her niche fanbase due to her use of the foodlights in her frame to blind her oponents in battle.
With all the new recruits the autobots got recently, they begin to tell the stories of their earliest members to the new generation

As the autobots began to settle around the upper layers of allspark's citadel finally there was time for the terrans to ask questions about their origins. The autobots didn't know exactly where the terrans came from so the next set of questions was where the Autobots had come from. And that story starts with prima
Though the transformers of the modern day live exclusively aboard spaceships and colony worlds, they all trace their origin back to their homeworld of cybertron, lost and forgotten to all but the most ancient bots of them all. Cybertron was a world of inequality. In the name of growing industry the transformers saw the flora and fauna of Cybertron as insignificant and exploited them until there was nothing left to exploit, without beasts of burden or livestock to do work decided from the moment they're born, their own kind filled those shoes,
Under the caste system known as functionism transformers were assigned jobs and social status that they couldn't change, solely based on their original alternate modes. Entertainment in this era was all in service of gladiatorial combat, the popular gladiators had art and music made in their image, a creating an illusion of social mobility for them, a chrome alloy on a stick
Prima was born a gladiator in the city of tarn during the functionist era, known for quickly dealing with her opponents rather than making a spectacle,
her cold detached approach to the entertainment she was built to provide earned her very few fans, but it earned her many stern talkings from her superiors that the more sucessful gladiators never had to go through, exposing her to the burocracy, and evils of the world firsthand.
The views she formed from her abuse under the system formed the foundation of autobot ideals, the protection autonomy, the duty to give of yourself to others, and the opposition to slavery, she preached the early version of these beliefs to her audience of like.. 4 guys
But as it turned out, those were the exact people to preach to as they aided in her "assassination" the very next day for speaking out against the functionist council, allowing her to hide away from society's eye and gather with like minded bots to tear that society down

INTRODUCTION
still under construction
this blog is dedicated to Transformers: Future. a tf au surrouding mainly what happens after the post-war scenario of Cybertron and the Decepticons.
i am not artist unfortunately so most of my work here is purely going to be write ups— concepts and character sketches as well as log entries. there are stand alone character arcs as well as interconnected but i've not gotten that far into the characters, for the pre-war era at least.
the AU is split into four primary parts:
Pre-Autobot/Decepticon War
During The War
Post War
The Future
everything from 1. to 3. on that list will feature characters any TF fan is familiar with. everything in 4. will include mostly my own OCs and concepts i made with mentions to a few canon characters at best.
its a rather ambitious lore filled project that has been in my head since i was 16 so bare with me here. i'm very excited about being able to share this with the world :3
the AU is a clash of various ideas from TFP, TFA, Unicron Trilogy and mainly, IDW2005 along with some of my own ideas.
SO NOW, masterlists with LOREEEEEEE
-> CHARACTER SKETCHES
this involves a basic rundown of the various personalities that be mentioned within the series, core characters mainly.
-> WORLD BUILDING
this involves the concepts. things like politics, culture, economy and biology. also involves the mythos and legends as well as the religious ideals of Cybertron, it's colonies and the future. it will be divided into the four other categories mentioned before.
-> CRUCIAL EVENTS/CHARACTER ARCS
this is pretty self-explanatory. it involves important lore written as either a general writing or as a story. crucial concepts to the plot are here!
additionally, there aren't many romantic pairings. most are implied. this is due to the fact that i like many ships and i cannot chose between them. so there are interactions or shared backstories at best.
again, posting might be irregular. i will provide the best i can to this AU :D thank you for reading!
one thing to be noted is that, ANYONE CAN USE THESE IDEAS ‼️‼️‼️

I’ve been seeing a lot of crap against the live action Lilo and Stitch movie so here i come to shit on it too.
Let’s call it for what it is. It’s propoganda.
Disney has a history with propoganda. Walt himself made WWII propoganda films and also made a lot of anti-black propoganda films. Disney is rooted in racism and fascism. Remember how Wlat himself was all buddy buddy with literal nazis?
Disney was never woke. Sure, shows come up by the disney brand like Gravity Falls, Amphibia, The Owl House, Star Vs the Forces of Evil, Wander over Yonder, and Phineas and Ferb and movies such as LILO AND STITCH (the 2002 version) (that’s really the only good example. Even my favorite movie, The Princess and the Frog has some really racist undertones (Making voodoo out to be the villain and transforming the black characters into frogs. But it does show black culture and shows that voodoo can be used for good. However, the bad tends to outweigh the good. Brother Bear falls into the same problem the Princess and The frog does by transforming characters of color into animals, and the native story that they use for basis seems really white washed.)), but they often get cast aside, cancelled, or remade into abominations that butcher the original message like Lilo and Stitch.
I can make a whole other post on how being a part of disney only holds gravity falls back and that media companies should be publicly owned (not by the government, but by literally everyone.) and that as long as you’re not actively promoting hatespeech, fascist ideals or literal propoganda that it has a place to be shown (that includes porn. Porn deserves a place to stay. If you ban porn, you ban queer identities. Kink and porn have a place at pride.) Authors, Animators, and people who make the media themselves should not have major corporations holding them back for actual authentic representation. But i’d be here all day.
I’m calling for a major boycott for disney. Screw that. All non-indie media. If it’s owned by a corporation, it’s not media, it’s propoganda. Fans need to reclaim their beloved media back to the authors. Copyright shouldn’t belong to a company, it should belong to the authors instead. There should be no “selling a piece of media to a corporation like disney” anymore. But that’s how it works in a capitalist society.
Lilo and Stitch (the 2002 version) is a tale about a neurodivergent indigenous young girl dealing with the struggles of post colonial hawaii and capitalism. The very basis of the message is that indigenous families need support and not to be torn apart. But mr mouse wants to appease to the cheeto in charge and wants to draw a square mustache on himself and participate in eugenics, butchering everything the original holds dear, and slapping the alien creature on for “marketing” purposes.
HAVE WE LOST EVERYTHING THAT MAKES ART ART (THEREFORE POLITICAL AND WOKE) BECAUSE GREEDY CORPORATIONS WANT EVERY LITTLE CENT TO THEIR FASCIST IDEALS?!!!
Remember when the right called disney too woke and now they’re praising the shit out of this movie? See what’s happening here? Disney is catering to fascists. And it started by funding Israel. It will never stop until the greedy white pigs line their pockets with the blood of every minority they kill with their eugenics policies.
Pirate everything EXCEPT indie animators. Also, buy from people who are actively trying to speak out against corporate greed. You know what? Make your own art. It isn’t that hard to write a story. Physically write it. Physically draw. Because once they take away our rights to use our devices to spread our word, we need to leave behind physical evidence that we were here in the first place.
Wow. This turned from a rant about Lilo and Stitch to a doomsday prepping rant about us politics. FUCK CAPITALISM!!!

📖: babel x r.f. kuang (2022)
rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
genres: historical fantasy
review in one sentence: i won’t be accepting any critiques of this book -thnx, management
“’I don’t want to be their tragic, lovely lacquer figure. I want to live… I want to live,’ she repeated, ‘and live, and thrive, and survive them. I want a future. I don’t think death is a reprieve. I think it’s — it’s just the end. It forecloses everything — a future where I might be happy, and free.’”
🏛🕯️🗣️📜
i never fully understood the desire to rate a book 6 stars until this moment. here are some reasons why i LOVED this book…
🕯️ history & portrayal of colonialism • this must be the year of historical fiction for me! my knowledge of the british empire is very minimal but those footnotes gave me so much context. post-read, i really want to find out which parts were truly fiction and which were historically accurate. there were a few characters i had to look up to see if they were real.. there are some really terrible people in history. even though i didn’t know much about the british empire, the characteristics of colonialism were fairly easy to spot based on what i know about it as a whole. i truly love a story that can teach me history and simultaneously keep me invested in the story!
🕯️ character evolution of robin • i was so nervous about the length of this book but it was absolutely necessary to show robin evolve as a person, especially since he was raised and trained to be a tool of british colonialism. it was cathartic to seeing him slowly unlearn the logics that he was taught to believe about himself, his heritage and the english. from beginning to end, robin is a character whose story i may never forget.
🕯️ academic setting • before 💩 really hit the fan, the portrayal of robin and his cohort as students was spot on. it didn’t surprise me to find out that r.f. kuang has both a masters and a phd bc at certain moments, i felt like i was back in grad school while reading this. the cyclical nature of the academic school year. the naiveté of being a first year. the transformation into a shell of a human by second year. the temporary reprieve of the summer months. it all felt too close to home.
🕯️ language & etymology • growing up, i swore i would be a polyglot and this fueled part of those delusions. it’s interesting having read this book right around a lot of tiktok users flocking to xhs/red note and learning mandarin. don’t be surprised if you see me with a mandarin language notebook

First of all, I love your dinosaur and prehistoric animal art and follow you on Instagram. Second of all, the fact that you're a Transformers fan makes me so happy. Thirdly, can you walk me through a summary of your au? What's the main plot and what makes this one different? I keep seeing something about Megatron being Optimus's father or something?
Thank you, glad that you like my work, And I'm definitely making a dedicated overiew post for the future, but here's the basic summary:
Transformers All-Sparks is an AU that focuses on the lives of Elita, Optimus and Megatron both pre-and-post war. The name represents "The Connection of All Sparks" to another in this AU, with its themes of family, friends and how war and ideology changes a person.
Megatron is indeed Optimus' dad, being born of a piece of both his and Codexa's sparks. Reproduction takes many forms in this AU, and will have its own dedicated section one day.
The main plot of All-Sparks centers around two point in history: Pre-Great Exodus and Post-Great Exodus.
Before the Great Exodus, it focuses on the famililal lives of Clan Pax and Clan Carcer, Orion's family and friends, and witnessing how Orion's dad goes from loving family bot to "the subjugator of Iacon". It all starts because, one day, Megatron takes a fall for a crime he didn't do to protect a friend. He forever gets branded as a Convict, and the rest is history, as Megatron is forced to fight in pit after pit, and becomes increasingly furious of just how wrong Cybertron and its institutions are... and especially disdainful of the rank of "Prime", and soon gets a cult of personality following growing. One worldwide revolt later, an accidental fusion cannon shot and ressurection later, and you have all of Cybertron duking it out with one another.
After the Great Exodus, the Autobots have established themselves in multiple fortress worlds and allied alien species. They can do this because The Great Exodus is one of the perhaps the biggest logistical feat known to botkind. The Autobots, while at a numerical disadvantage, are very much still a potent force in the galaxy, to the point that they've managed to contain the Decepticons to a stalemate, but one that can shift at any moment. The Search for Energon is something vital for both factions, some planets are naturally rich in it, some aren't. Allspark fragments are especially prized, because they're not just as energon sources, but in what they can do with the forces of creation (though that's easier said than done).
The Ark crash lands on Earth much later than in most continuities, with Grimlock guarding it for the past 20,000 years. Sometime during the late 80s, Hot Rod (and friends), finally bring enough Energon to awaken at least some of the Autobots, Optimus and Elita included. And so, with that, Earth will soon become part of Cybertron's war... whether they realize or not.
Some worlbuilding tidbits that's prevalent of this AU.
Cybertron is the home planet, but is also referred to as the Worlds of Cybertron. Before the great war, Cybertron is actually very well integrated with its colonies, including Caminus, Velocitron, Devishun, Eukaris and many more. Even Quintessa is considered part of the Worlds... but they're also the most prone to rebellion. The war on Cybertron becomes a full blown Cybertronian Civil War once factionalism arrives in many of the worlds.
Faction organization is prevalent here: The main factions are Autobot and Decepticon, but there are sub-factions that help out their main faction. Maximals are the organic-disguised arm of the Autobots, bringing their already-well known experience and knowledge in navigating organic worlds and military professionalism into the greater whole. Predacons serve as this to the Decepticons, but are more like a personality-cult-within-a-cult, as they were founded by a Razorclaw inspired by the "take power with your own two hands" philosophy of Megatron.
Autobots also have The Knights of the Circle of Light (The successors of the Temple Guard who protected the Temple of the Thirteen, now a colossal space-faring vessel) and the Espionage Corps (The Cyberninja Corps in all but name), and the Autobot Diplomatic Corps (who help maintain the relations with aliens).
Inspired by Ben 10, Marvel and many other works, Aliens have a presence in this AU, because you can't have a giant galactic-scale war without bringing your problems onto other worlds.

I Saw Transformers One Early Last Week. Let’s Talk About It!!! (SPOILER FREE)
EXPECTATIONS
I’m going to be honest, I had very very low expectations for this movie for a multitude of reasons. The first was the cast, particularly choosing celebrity hires instead of professional voice actors for a franchise where dialogue delivery means SO MUCH historically and the present. I like Chris Hemsworth, I do, but I am so attached to Orion Pax that I did NOT see him as someone fit for the role. I was also afraid of it becoming a WFC situation where the VA tries TOO HARD to be Peter Cullen. I am also a huge fan of Elita One, and Scarlett Johansson was not my first choice by any means. The one thing giving me hope was the fact that Scarlett and Chris interact SO WELL in their films together and in press releases and they do give off that Orion and Elita energy sometimes. Regardless, I was skeptical.
Now for the big thing: I was very nervous how they were going to handle the politics and the buildup that leads to Megatronus and Orion’s separation. It is no secret that Pre-War Cybertron in many continuities begins with a very corrupt and fascist Senate. Corrupted Senators, capitalistic manipulation and unethical abuse, dehumanization, corporal punishment, you name it, Cybertron had it. The concepts of functionalism, shadowplay, mnemosurgery, and empurata also come to mind. It is also no secret that the United States is on the brink of total fascism. A lot of Pre-War Cybertron’s themes, particularly the Decepticon cause in its early days as a movement, emphasized the elimination of the oppressive regime and reconstruction with an end to the very infrastructure that caused class division and brutalization of Cybertronian bodies. Not only this, but Megatronus and Orion’s schism often comes because of class, particularly privilege and lack thereof, which is something that often happens in revolution. Those with more privilege often think that reform can happen underneath the system that looms over them, just with a switching of a guard and elimination of a few policies. They are often ones who partook in and benefitted from the system by birth or for the sake of survival. Those who come from the lower classes want to burn the entire system down, understanding in its entirety that its very infrastructure is unstable and is not sustainable, no matter who is in power. Examples of this divide despite deep friendship and similar ideas is Andres Bonifacio and Jose Rizal of the Philippines (as a Filipino). Orion, in most cases coming from a privileged background, saw hope in simple reform after extracting the corrupt portions of the federal structure. Megatronus, who fought his whole life to be deemed as sentient, understood that the entire system was diseased and could not go on. It would just eventually continue its horrid practices. I can go on a tangent about this, as someone who studies and writes on anti-colonialism, but that’s another post for another day. My concern based on the trailers was that it would address NONE of that and there would be some watered down conflict that removed the nuances and political passion behind a lot of other continuities. The trailers, to me, were not giving me enough proof that it would be handled correctly.
Initial Experience
My theater was filled with mostly adults of various ages who were fans of different continuities. Some people were even talking about how they thought the movie was going to suck, including me with my dad, who has been a fan since G1 in the 80s and was going in blind. However, throughout the entire film, the whole theater was laughing, gasping, cheering, clapping, and screaming. Afterwards, there were people who were literally talking about how it was the movie they’d been waiting for after years of disappointment. Someone literally shouted when leaving the theater that he was so excited for September when everyone else could see it. My dad, who has not been a fan of recent Transformers material, talked nonstop about how much he loved it. Me personally, I was BRIMMING with excitement afterwards, which is huge given that I was ready to criticize the movie’s every move. Let me get into why- note this is SPOILER FREE.
Orion Pax
Believe it or not, I really liked TF1’s Orion. He was witty, had the snark of Aligned Orion, and clearly had a goal in mind: to entirely shift the status quo by breaking the class distinction. He was extremely optimistic like most versions, something that is often criticized in the fanbase, and is also criticized in the film. However, the qualities that G1 created and the Bayverse destroyed were THERE. Orion was a DORK. He was KIND. He CARED for people deeply, even if they weren’t necessarily thinking about him. He was a KNOWN PROBLEM-SOLVER. His intelligence is noted MULTIPLE times. He really is authentically Orion. I’ll do a more in-depth analysis in September.
Megatronus/ D-16
Now, THIS MAN WAS AMAZING. I am so used to the source of his anger being solely lower class-based oppression amongst other things relating to that. The film offered another option, which I will not disclose, but I thought it was a wonderful addition. I will keep my mouth shut about D-16’s personality in this film because it’s a secret, but just know this new take on Megatronus was a bit refreshing and gives new material for both fan continuity writers and fanfic writers.
Elita
I was honestly scared to see how they would portray Elita, especially with their track record of solely making her Optimus’s love interest and killing her off. I also was afraid that they would turn her into a white feminism caricature, which I can go into depth about for clarification if anyone needs it. However, the writers take feminism for Elita and take a much more in-depth route. I found her well done. She was giving mother in this film, absolutely brilliant. There will be an analysis on her as well in September, especially since they have so much intended room for her.
Worldbuilding and Additional Characters
I think that with about an hour and a half, it would have been SO HARD to create an entire world of deep political brutality and nuance like the comics directly. So, I think the writers created a framework that was good enough to convey the fascist undertones of Cybertron while also leaving so many avenues to explore and elaborate on for future films, whether they be prequels or sequels. Some characters were added in with a bit of context, but no in-depth explanations. While I would normally say that’s a downside, I think that it was actually really smart on their part. If you tried to add all of these complex stories from the comics in an hour and a half film combined with everything else, it would have likely been underdeveloped and left more questions and holes than answers. By removing that, I think that it was a smart move to expand on in their own time and with good pacing. Besides, the presence of some characters was very enjoyable and kept the audience I was with wanting more from them. Not in a “there wasn’t enough of them” way at all, but instead a “they were so cool in the short time they were here I need more now” way. Everyone in this continuity gets a new and different start. I honestly think it would give fan continuity writers motivation to continue what they’re doing, now that basic and consistent pre-war plot lines have been redone. I think for how long the movie is, they did a great job.
Additional Thoughts
I think that everything was pretty well done. The pacing was especially important, given we were supposed to witness a buildup in such a devastating “divorce”. That isn’t done lightly, and they made sure that they built it up enough to where the final blow was devastating. It was SO DEVASTATING that people in my theater were gasping left and right. The comedy was well done, as someone who hates poorly-written jokes for laughs. It fit into the characters’ personalities well, that’s what made it work well. It didn’t feel forced because that’s just how that particular character is. I also think that, as a fandom, sometimes we get too wrapped up in very specific characterizations of these individuals to the point where we refuse new ideas. I was extremely guilty of this. However, this film was truly made by someone that loved the franchise and knew exactly what the fans wanted. Brian Tyler, who did the score for TFP, also doing the score for this film was proof of that (as someone who absolutely ADORES film scores as a musician) There was a good amount of brutality within the rating of the film, so bayverse fans who are itching for something shockingly horrible are in for a surprise. I also think that it knew its boundaries well and moved not to push them while also being considerate of certain audiences who may be a bit younger. It was a good restart, especially for animated Transformers films, and I think that they can really build it into something great. This was a very sound foundation and I was not disappointed.
ALSO, THERE IS A MID AND POST-CREDIT SCENE SO DON’T LEAVE IMMEDIATELY

Decided to shake up the constant Gravity Falls asks on the blog (even though I adore them). What is your favorite transformers continuity? And what's your favorite character from that continuity?
Tough call, but probably IDW1. The comics had room to get expansive in ways the show-based continuities couldn't, and I like that feeling of bigness to the universe. It introduced a lot of my favorite Transformers lore: forged vs cold constructed bots, Functionism (especially as a critique of marrying religion to conservative politics), empurata, really creative uses of holoforms, conjunx endura & amica endura (and queer bots, let's give it up for queer bots!!), the complex network of lost colonies, the idea that the gods definitely officially existed BUT they were just guys, the DJD...
All the work that went into immediate pre-war culture with the turbulent corrupt senate and the corrupt Primes was terrific. LSOTW and SOTW are just so damn good, MTMTE up through Remain In Light was brilliant, and Getaway's coup was great. I'm thrilled we got a look at Cybertron's relationships with the rest of the galaxy and it turns out they're hated, because that makes perfect sense but we never really see that. The post-war politics on Cybertron were really fun. I was skeptical IDW could pull off writing about a post-war Cybertron—I assumed within a year they'd default back to restarting the war—and then that ended up being when the whole series really started to shine.
Introduced some characters I love—Drift, Tarn, Stardrive, Windblade, and Pharma stand out off the top of my head. Amazing artwork, especially whenever Milne had the pen. ABSOLUTELY LOVED seeing Starscream get to rule Cybertron. Even though they had trouble committing to it, I appreciate that they had the balls to make Optimus morph into a well-intentioned villain. Love the tragic former senator Shockwave characterization. Love the lonely logical Prowl who can see the Autobots' flaws too clearly for his own good and in his desperation to compensate for the rest of the army morally compromised his way into becoming the villain. Love horrible amoral Tarantulas with his small shining moments of love and tenderness.
Although by the end it was getting really bloated with other Hasbro property crossovers, I did like some of the crossovers they introduced: GI Joe slid in pretty seamlessly—probably helps that TF & GI Joe crossovers have an established history—and I was surprised a how much I liked Rom. And even though the sheer quantity of crossovers got tedious, the concept of going "they've all been dragged into this story because they were all affected by Cybertron's past colonialism" is GREAT.
Love that they ended the story by swinging from "yay look at all these fun new colonies for us to play with!" to "oh my god the Autobots are colonizers." LOVE that they ended with Unicron—every longform Transformers series could end with Unicron and I probably wouldn't complain—and that they let him eat some planets, let him eat half the cast, LET HIM EAT CYBERTRON... and characterized him not as some random bogeyman but specifically as the karmic vengeance for Cybertron's past colonial crimes. Love that the only way to stop him was not by killing him, but by acknowledging that Cybertron was wrong and showing him compassion.
IDW didn't always get things right with their attempted grand messages about politics and injustice and oppression and colonization—but, hell, even when they didn't quite hit the bullseye I love that they were playing with that dartboard.
Favorite character from IDW is Prowl (albeit not without stiff competition). I'm a gleeful Prowl apologist. Yeah he did those terrible things but he was right tho. I started picking up RID & MTMTE right when Prowl got Devastatored, and that was both the thing that made me go "oh hold on the comics are doing something interesting" and the thing that made me take notice of Prowl as a character for the first time in my life lmao. BIG fan of his messy lovelife. (Personally I go "he's too good for Chromedome" and then ship him with the Constructicons and Tarantulas, who are objectively far worse than Chromedome.) He's endlessly fascinating to me, one of my favorite characters to read and one of my favorite characters to write.
Right up there is Starscream—averaged out across all continuities, Starscream's probably my #1 favorite Transformers character, and IDW Starscream is my favorite Starscream, a perfect blend of the bombastic G1 campy villain and the wary, competent, resilient TFP schemer. And Tarantulas rounds out my top 3, I loved him in Beast Wars and then SOTW 3 happened and I had to stop at nearly every panel Tarantulas was in to go "oh my god, this is canon? They got away with that??" Read like a fanfic in the best possible way. "We were each the muse to the other" still has an iron grip on my heart. "I want YOU. I want US." God. SOTW 3 is a masterpiece of literature. Here, do you want a 130k no-war AU where Prowl and Tarantulas are paranormal investigators together? You can have it. For free.
I just spent a lot of time singing the praises of IDW but shoutout to Armada and Energon/Super Link (I preferred the fansub over the dub) for getting me into Transformers, wouldn't be in this fandom today if not for Starscream's beautifully melodramatic redemption arc in Armada. I'm not saying they're good. I'm saying I love them. Totally different thing.
#ultimatefangirl225#(armada's actually pretty solid actually. energon's p bad tho; plot meandered too much.)#ask#transformers#idw#meta#(edited because I mentioned functionism twice. I liked it but I didn't like it THAT much.)
