Top 10 Best-Looking Motorcycles of 2023

Here it is, another subjective list of the best-looking motorcycles of 2023. These are ones that I look at and think “crikey!” and think others would to. Some of these motorcycles came out in mid-2022, and might be released as a 2022 model year in some places. And maybe some of these motorcycles were released a year or two prior, but I didn’t recognise them, and want to give them some airtime. But they’re all available new in model year 2023. You might notice some themes as you look down the motorcycles here, like a larger number of middleweight adventure motorcycles. It’s not entirely my subjective taste — some of it is fashion and what’s popular in motorcycles these days.

Bread for the parish poor.

Sebes: nicely manicured parks and public gardens, a Lutheran church and not much else. Even TripAdvisor can only muster a Top 5. We’ve just missed the imaginatively titled Opera Rock rock opera and a mindfulness symposium and don’t fancy the church’s programme of music and sermons. The 4-Star Leul de Aur[1] is the place to be.

Today’s plan is to ride over the 50-mile Transalp Pass, which is exactly what we do. Phil runs out of petrol, as planned, as he wants to know exactly how far he can get on a full tank (386km), information that could be critical for him later in the trip. While I’m waiting for him to catch up I fall into conversation with another (German) biker. It turns out that he is a Chief Constable from Koln celebrating his recent retirement with an 8-week tour. As a police officer his area of special responsibility was crowd control at major sporting events. He loves Scotland fans.

The Transalp throws up some spectacular views but I wouldn’t say it was the best pass we have ever ridden, quite tame in fact, and after 50 miles we stop for lunch. Regal Salad with honey and olive oil appears as chunks of red pepper in diluted ketchup. Lunch over, Phil heads off for Istanbul and beyond and I head back towards Sebes. In Sebes at 6pm when the shop shuts the baker parcels up all that day’s unsold bread and leaves it on his porch for the parish poor.
