You know, what made me upset about the whole anti DeanBenny posting thing was the fact that so many people were upset that it was being talked about in the first place. I literally read a post where someone said they felt alone as a Destiel shipper, and how upset they were that people were saying someone else would have been better for Dean or Cas…

Like, how do you think the rest of the fandom feels whenever y’all downplay other relationships involving Dean and Cas because “they wouldn’t have worked out” or “okay, as long as they’re not endgame tho”. Literally, I can’t count how many times I’VE gotten upset because someone implied that Benny was nothing more than a fuck buddy to Dean. THAT shit hurts, but whenever I try to explain my point of view I’m immediately shot down. It just frustrates me sometimes, and I wish people just figured out what a tag filter is so they can’t see it in the first place if it bothers you THAT much.

it's because d*stiel shippers continue to be the most toxic people on this app because they just never stay in their lane. they shit on every dean ship or cas ship that is not deanc*s and spam every spn tag with their hate.

they're always threatened by all those ships that are not deancas and they get pressed everytime they see people shipping deanbenny, deanjo or even deanlisa, because all those people who are involved in these ships i just mentioned treated dean right unlike cas who backstabbed dean multiple times. they also get angry when cas is being shipped with meg because she was canonically the only person who loved him and cared about him and they try so hard to erase her and hate on her. they just don't wanna admit that dean and casti*l were awful to each other and cas even abused dean when he was suicidal in that alley scene from S5. their canon relationship is so toxic.

whoever implied that benny was just a "fuck buddy" are literally delusional as fuck because canonically dean and benny were buddies who fought together and trusted each other. and obviously d*stiel shippers are angry and jealous because dean trusted benny and that benny has never let dean down not even once. they're trying to downplay the deanbenny relationship because that makes them feel better otherwise they will stay mad for life knowing that deanc*s is not even healthy and has zero chemistry (especially after the kripke era lmao) and not to mention that benny was absolutely loyal to dean and their chemistry was unmatched. i love how benny was the first person who's a supernatural creature that dean trusted. I just think it's not easy to win dean's trust but then there's benny who fought with dean and helped him get out of purgatory. benny deserved dean's trust and dean liked and respected benny so much and like i said before he has never let dean down he was his ride or die friend. dean deserved a friend who has never betrayed his trust and benny deserved someone who has faith in him like dean did and honestly i wish we could've seen more of them but then again i'm sure as shit d*stiel shippers would never shut the fuck up if that happened and send hate to everyone who ships it. but knowing that jensen is enthusiastic about dean and benny but negative about d*stiel is such a serotonin and absolutely encouraging he knows damn well that those shippers are hateful and they don't deserve any crumb.

anyways don't let their angry insecure jealous asses upset you with their trash anti deanbenny posts because they're pure bullshit and no matter how many likes they get for them they will never be right and they'll forever be pressed at deanbenny because HELL they're more canon than d*stiel will ever be <3 (and don't be sorry! rant in my inbox anytime!)

agreed about blocklists, they're becoming a problem endemic in fandom and I wish people would use a bit more clear-headed thinking and realize why that can often be damaging behavior - they're spread indiscriminately and aimed at people who might not even be aware what's happening (I'd have had no idea had I not been told directly, and then I really wouldn't have been able to defend myself at all). it's not fair and it can easily cause harm.

anyway, this was lovely of you and I'm grateful for it. also I adore Benny, and he is a vampire teddy bear, you're right! 💙

Because you’re such a good noodle when it comes to my ranting, I’m gonna give you my idea of what Dean’s heaven looks like because all of the posts I’ve seen talking about it are Destiel centered and I’m a salty DeanBenny shipper❤️ (This is of course a headcannon, but it makes me happy.)

Benny bakes Dean all the pie he wants in heaven. They’re no rules when it comes to your diet up there, so Dean is constantly asking Benny to bake for him because he hardly had the time to actually sit down and enjoy eating without worrying about whatever was going on at the time.

Benny doesn’t mind though, because he likes seeing Dean happy.

Of course since Sam is also up there with Dean and he visits him a lot, Benny always saves a pie or something for him.

i can see benny prioritizing dean's happiness because he's such a good loyal friend to him and not just that, benny in fact was one of the best things that ever happened to dean i will never not say that. i really love the idea of benny baking for dean i just think it's very adorable :(( we really deserved to see a deanbenny heaven reunion too because he was one of the VERY few characters on the show who deserved to be in dean's heaven.

"he likes seeing dean happy" had me so emotional because that's so canon too. seeing dean smiling and having a blast while eating those pies that he baked :(( dean's happiness means a lot to benny. i keep thinking if benny survived he would stand up for dean through everything. we've really been officially robbed of the deanbenny's epic dynamic :// (i would also like to add that benny is obviously supportive but he's also an intelligent and independent dude he's not just "dean's buddy" because if dean actually did something wrong he would call him out on it and he would do that because he really loves and cares for dean.)

benny saving a part for sam is absolutely amazing because it reminds me of how benny sacrificed himself to save him. benny literally recognizes sam's importance to dean and i personally find that very admirable. he's truly been a great friend to dean. sam would've been beyond appreciative of benny if he survived a little longer knowing how benny is truly a nice and caring dude.

i really enjoyed reading your headcanon it made me happy too !! it's a joy seeing people around here who are interested in deanbenny:) it's literally the best dean ship and seriously one of the greatest dean relationships on the show.

side note: i just think it's hilarious how those people centered dean's heaven around d*stiel because in that last virtual panel that jensen did with jared. he was asked what would dean do in heaven, jensen answered that dean would hang out with his brother, his parents and jack. not even a single cas mention *giggles*

Benny’s self love journey had not been an easy one, but he would be the first to say it was all worth it.

Even before he had started going through what they called their “second puberty”, Benny felt awkward in their body. Benny was what his mamma reffered to as “husky”, and going to school growing up had been a nightmare.

Their money was limited at the time, so most of Benny’s clothes came from his older brother Eli who was significantly less broad in the shoulders, so his shirts never fit him quite right. Along with the weird-fitting clothes, Benny had been an extremely awkward child. He couldn’t quite grasp how to socialize with other children, so he mostly sat on his own at the lunch tables and colored inside his classroom while the other children played outside during recess.

Sure, his momma had tried to get him to interact with other kids by setting up playdates, but the whole time he was at the park or another child’s house he would desperately cling to his momma’s leg, refusing to let go.

That’s how his social life was, up until the moment he met Dean Winchester.

It was in 3rd grade recess, Benny recalled.

He had ventured outside of the classroom and decided to sit on the swings, scraping his shoes in the sand as he gently swung back and forth.

“Hey.”

Benny jolted a bit, looking around for whoever had just spoken.

“I'm right beside you.”

He looked towards the other swing and saw a blond/brunette kid STANDING on the seat, somehow managing not to fall.

“I’m Dean.” The kid said, popping a candy from their pocket into their mouth.

“I’m…Bonnie….”

God, Benny remembered how much he hated that name.

The kid seemed to study him for a second.

“You don’t like that name very much, do you?”

Benny thought about it for a second.

“No, I don’t.”

“Then why don’t you go by something you DO like?”

Benny had just looked at Dean as if the guy had grown two heads. “You can’t do that.”

“Sure you can.” Dean shrugged. “That’s what I did. I hated my old name so…I changed it.”

Could you do that? Benny had thought.

It seems easy enough.

“Then I guess I’m…Benjamin.” Benjamin had been his favorite grandpa's name. He owned a boat and sometimes took Benny out to sea, exploring beyond land.

“Hmmm…I think I’m gonna call you Benny.” Dean replied.

“Sure, if you want.”

Dean dug around in their pocket, seemingly searching for something. Finally, they pulled out a Snickers bar.

“Want one?”

From then on Dean had stuck by Benny’s side 24/7, which had made them uncomfortable at first, but then he found himself becoming happier at the idea that he had someone to talk to.

Dean was interesting. He talked about cars a lot, particularly his father’s Impala.

“I wanna drive it someday. Dad says that once I’m old enough and have my license he’ll give it to me.” Dean bumped their shoulder against Benny’s. “Maybe me and you can ride in it together.”

Benny didn’t talk much himself, he mostly listened, and Dean didn’t seem to mind.

His momma could not have been more excited about the fact that he had made a friend, and she had told Benny he could invite Dean over for a sleepover if he wanted.

Benny had never had a sleepover up until that point, so he had been extremely nervous when Dean had arrived at his house, duffle bag and pillow in hand.

“Hey Benny! Thanks for inviting me over.” Dean said cheerily.

“Yeah, no problem.”

Benny showed Dean around his small house, finally making his way to his bedroom.

“Wow. You really like blue…and pirate ships.”

Benny blushed. “Yeah, I know it’s weird-”

“No, not weird. It’s cool.” Dean plopped himself on Benny’s bed, surveying the room.

“Wanna watch a movie?” Benny asked.

“Yeah! I brought over a few of my favorites!” Dean said excitedly.

Dean’s favorite movies turned out to be rated-R zombie movies, but Benny didn’t mind. His momma didn’t normally allow him to watch scary movies, so he wasn’t about to snitch.

I don't care much for Deanbenny, tbh (which is a bit of an awkward thing to say to someone I pressume ships them, given your url ^^U).

I WILL freely admit I would've changed my tune on that at the first blood sharing scene because I like what I like LMAO. But I guess it wasn't in the cards. Too homoerotic, maybe xDD

Destiel........... well, that's the fucking question LOL. I've said it before, but I have Complicated(TM) feelings regarding this dynamic ^^U. I do think it's interesting, as presented in canon (which for once means I'm not utterly baffled at it getting fanon popularity the way I am with a lot of juggernaut fanon ships lmao. Not that I particularly care for how the fandom writes it tbh. I've tried to read fic -not much, because long story short, I have an... unusual vetting process for SPN fic writers xD-, and I've always ended up disappointed and leaving before finishing all the way through).

But it's also enraged me like few others, especially the more the show advances. Especially in Dabb's era, which has the glaring flaw of boring, annoying, and disappointing me, robbing a lot of its characters and dynamics of their redeeming qualities, Destiel chief among them ¬¬

Another thing is that, well. Castiel is my favourite character. And he's my favourite character in the way I described earlier, when I mentioned the way I stan Max and Silver in Black Sails, among others. This for me means taking the character as they are, all of it, even the parts that I might wish weren't so. And for Castiel... well, this means he loves Dean, wholeheartedly (how he loves him could be the debate, but I STILL haven't reached the confession episode so I will reserve my opinion until then). So part of me is like, "yeah, I guess I'll support my fave's taste :/", while the other is putting on my Britney Spears-lite "DUMP HIM" t-shirt xDD

(Benny doesn't need the "DUMP HIM" t-shirt, he proved he had Dean pegged the moment he wanted his ass far away from his great-granddaughter LOL)

Destiel definitely raises more feelings within me, positive or negative, so I guess it wins by default? High praise, I know!

Anyway, here's where I take a page out of its shippers book and make it VERY CLEAR that Megstiel is my One True Pairing in the show, and that I consider it a better ship than Destiel for a myriad of reasons :)))))
